Ok so this month has so far has not been a good one. My family is basically born in November so i have a birthday every week. I can avoid eating the cake for the most part but this week was my 21st brithday so i couldnt just NOT eat my own bday cake. Then theres me being on my period....i have lots of cramps so i cant really excersize and im eating everything in sight...How much weight does everyone gain on there periods? Will it go away easilly at the end?

Hi wiltedflower19!
I usually gain 3-5, and it will fluctuate back eventually, depending on how much salt I eat. (I get mega french-fry cravings.)
Happy birthday! Stop beating yourself up. For my 21st, most of my calories came in the liquid form.... which has way less nutritional value than cake does.
Just do your best every day. 15 pounds is a really great accomplishment, you should be really proud of yourself. Maybe it would help to get a hobby? I finally had to get one, since I usually eat when I'm bored/lonely. So I started sewing. It's really fun - adding fringes and things to clothes I already have, making purses, curtains. And it keeps me busy, so my mind doesn't wander to the kitchen....
AND - it's only day 10 of this month, so you have plenty of time to make this a great month.

Hi, glad you had a happy birthday. gee if you have loss 15 lbs that is great. i have learned to be happy with what i have loss. then go from there. course i am retired and all. so age has taught me to enjoy but allow for. you know now your having the cake. alright just say ok now i will eat less of other things and fit that in with my daily calories. this helps me alot to do it like this. and that way you can still have and celebrate each one and have fun. your young. be thankful that your watching your wt now . its lots easier and all. beleive me from experience the older you get the harder it is to come off. mother nature has her ways of our gaining. but hey its mostly water gain. so be thankful your healthy and all. i was. going through change i gained. but my hubby said your healthy and that is life. so i looked at it like that. also as you age ha ha you learn to look at things different. so enjoy your young life and still can watch your wt.. your doing great. give yourself a happy birthday pat on the back for me. From Oregon i wish you the best of luck.. we can do it and we will do it. come to the boards often oh these people are the greatest. move around and search the different ones on here and respond to. sharing is the best help for all of us. working with friends makes it fun. have a great day.
