Hello all you Thin Wanabees,
I thought we all could use a challenge to get us through the holidays. We have about 3 weeks till Thanksgiving, 7 weeks till Christmas and 8 weeks till the New Year. So we need a challenge to help us, so we can at least not have a weight gain during this time, putting us behind the 8 ball when the New Year begins. And if we can lose some weight all the better.

Your goal can be anything you want it to be. Wether it be to not have a gain, to lose, to exercise, drink your water ou journal. You be the judge and decide the area you need to improve.

I am going for them all. I want to have a weight loss, even if it is just 5 pounds, that would be great. This way if there are tough times ahead during the holidays, it will not devastate me in the weight department. If I can do this than I feel when the temptations temp me I can resist and not over endulge so much. I do ok in the exercise area, and exercise almost every day and I need to continue to exercise during this time. I will work on drinking all my water everyday as well. I am very bad at journaling so this I will really try to do this daily during this challenge to help me see exactly what I have eaten.

So is anyone else game? Anyone and everyone can join in this challenge, if you are in our Thin Wannabee group or not. You are welcome to post with us and if you want to join our wonderful group, we would love having you with us.

Take care everyone and any other takers for this Holilday Challenge? Hope to hear from lots and lots of people.

Sassy Sharon

Hi, I'm Michelle. Kind of new here, but I'd definitely like to join this challenge if no one minds my popping in. I want to be down a full size by Christmas; that will be either size 10 clothes that have "give" or size 12 clothes that don't.

I've already got a weight goal set of 165 by Dec. 13th, because I'm taking a trip and want the people I'm visiting to be impressed! :)

Nice to meet everyone!

Am new to your group, but count me in. I need the push LOL. Would love to be 180 by Dec. 31. Would be happy with 185, but happier with 180. Need to get my water back up again too - hard to do tho with winter knockin' at the door. Last thing I want to drink on a cold day is a cold glass of water - ugh! Going to try for a min. of 64ozs/day. And the dreaded E word. Need to exercise at LEAST 3x/week.

Well, off 2 a decent start. Drinking 100+ ozs water every day (peeing 100+ ozs every day :D ) & exercised 4x already this week.

How's everyone else doin'?

My goal is to lose twenty pounds by the New Year. I have already lost eight so I have a little over a month to lose the next twelve. So with that means exercising regularly (which I have been doing and feeling real good about), making better food choices (again, doing well) and drinking plenty of water.

WTG losing 8 pounds already! That's AWESOME!! :carrot:

I'm down 7lbs since I restarted Atkins/induction on Sunday. I have 9 more to go to make my New Years goal. Of course if I happen to lose more than 9 by the New Year, I wouldn't be too terribly upset :)

I'm up for a healthy challenge.

I have two goals for the next month:

1st, to increase my water intake and decrease my intake of soft drinks.

2nd, to get up, get out, and get my backside moving again...My goal is to start walking at least once a day. Since I am still recovery from knee surgery I am going to start out a bit conserative with this goal. Starting with one block and gradually increasing it as I can tolerate. Hopefully I can at least make it to 4 blocks by the end of December. we go!!!

Well, I am 2 pounds closer to my new years goal. Only 10 more to go. I think I can make it since there is just over 30 days left. I finally broke that plateau and I am charging full steam ahead again!!!!

Day 2 for me and I'm doing really good! (I know 2 days on a diet doesn't seem like much to celebrate, but I'm taking it one day a time!)
My hubby is taking me out for dinner on Sat for our anniversary, I'll have to order wisley!

12-01-2005, 12:34 PM
You girls are doing really really well - you are putting me to "shame" and making me try even harder. Actually I did lose 1 lb! I will do better today.

You're doing great - that's what you should do - take 1 day at a time! I'm sure you will do great when you go out for your anniversary dinner -
Welcome to our challenge! Sounds like you have the right thinking - lots of water! Yes, I have not been drinking the water like I used to -- lots of coffee and tea tho but I too need to get back to my water only! Take it easy with your knee tho - don't overdo.

Congrats on the 2 lbs down! That is awesome!

Well ... hope you all have a great day today! I'll check in tomorrow.

Love, CJ

Hey Mel - 2 days is great. Keep it up! :dancer: Heck, the 1st time I decided to try LC'g, I wanted to celebrate every HOUR :). No kidding - I'm such a carb-a-holic that I honestly didn't think I could do it for more than a day. Hope you have a very nice anniversary! Congrats!

I hear ya CJ - I slacked on my water a couple days this week too. It's so hard to drink cold water when it's -15 to -20C (5 to -4F) outside. Coffee is what I want! Just wish I could drink it black so I wasn't losing carbs to cream & sweetener.

Welcome Damsil - good luck with your goals and hope your knee heals up quickly!

Have a great day all! TTFN!!

Today I did really really good, and then dh came home a made a pizza! Little brat! But I only had one piece, plus it's home made and it's made with turkey peperoni.
Am I making everyone hungry?

Hi all,
Well it looks like we are all on our way and really trying hard.

I have to do ok, not gain, like I will go to my WW meeting and gain a few pounds than really work to get it off the next week. We went to my husbands car club holiday party and man were there ever temptations, but I didn't do too bad and only gained .6 lbs, but thank goodness I had a 5 lb loss last week to make up for the 4 lbs I had gained the week before. I swear I will do this one way or another this year. I just don't want to get behind the 8 ball this holiday.

CJ-Great job on he 1 lb loss, it all adds up. Yes I usually don't have a problem with the water and last week I did great, but this week I had to really work at it.

allensmom-Good for you only having 1 piece of homemade pizza yet. I couldn't have done as well as you did, so good as you. You sound like you are really making wise choices about the foods you eat.

gonnabe150-You are heading in the right direction with your weight loss. Hip Hip Hooray!

Damsil-Thanks for joining in with us. Hope your knee is getting better and better each day. It is really hard to try to exercise having knee surgery.

gonnaloseit-How great is that with your 7 lb loss on your Atkins program. I know you will make your goal by New Years. Keep on going.

teahoney-You will make your goal and here you have already lost 8 lbs of your goal so that is awesome.

tipseygypsy-Thanks for joining us. How are you doing with your Holiday Goal, since Dec 13th has past. I hope you did good, but even if you didn't make it we still have plenty of holiday time left to keep on doing what we are doing weight wise.

This weekend will be my challenge, my anniversary was yesterday, Dec the 13the 13th so my husband is taking me for a long weekend to Nashville and Gatlinburg, Tennessee. I will try really hard. but I hate when I travel, I like to travel but we eat out all the time so that is hard for me.

Take care everyone and post when you can to let us know how things are going for you.

:wel3fc: Kristen - it's never too late. I think this challenge goes to the New Year. Congrats on losing 3lbs!! :cheer:

Sharon - good for you passing up those temptations!!! One advantage to being divorced is I don't have to do all those business parties anymore with the hubby ;). Easy to resist temptation when there isn't any . was Tennessee??

How's everyone else doing?

I'm going to toot my own horn for a second, but :encore: I MADE MY HOLIDAY CHALLENGE WEIGHT GOAL!!!!!! :cheer: :woo:. I've been exceding my water & exercise goals as well. So, needless to say, I'm a little happy this weekend :).

Have a great day everyone!!
