OK so Halloween was fun. I love the innocence of youth and just watching the kids dress up as their favorite characters and stuff. Michael looked cool in his "Phoenix Ninja" costume (trying to resize some pics to post). My neighborhood kinda sucks for trick or treating since it's an older one and most people my age with little kids have moved out. Now it's mostly elderly people who keep their porch lights off and shut the doors . Still, there were enough houses as we rounded the block to give Mikey a nice haul of goodies. I think with the current climate of crime and everything, a lot of people are choosing to go to organized functions like trick or treating at malls or other places. Yeah, I know it's safer and everything, but to me it's just not "real"... anyway, we had fun and a little exercise tramping around the neighborhood.

Angie, oh man, "officially old"? You CAN'T be that--because I'm older than you  Your kids are growing up quick, lucky you! You'll be free of them soon ;) Just kidding. Glad you're feeling better.

Julie, how'd your kids fare? Do you guys have a fairly young neighborhood that a lot of kids pass thru?

Cherie, how about you and your girls? I bet they had a lot of fun in a new neighborhood going door to door.

Cal, did you get pics of Ashley as Jasmine (I know you did). Does your pooch go trick or treating with her? We dressed up Lucky (our not-so-little-anymore Pup) in her pink Isaac Mizrahi polo shirt with a matching pink flowered collar with rhinestones and took her around with us.

Kempy & Dips, did you guys do any celebrating? Any alcohol involved? I have to live vicariously thru you guys since I'm such a social dud...

Anywho, I've got to get some bills paid and statements sent out. Have a good one!

Hey a new thread ...why didnt I think of that?  Thanks Noelle where would we be without you?

Where is everyone today...coming down off a Halloween hangover. I didnt eat any candy yesterday because I was too sick. Jay did a number on the Laffy Taffy though. Him and the kids ate a ton of it.

Not much happening here today.

Come out and play!!! :tantrum:

Noelle, Where is the pumpkin?

11-01-2005, 05:39 PM
Sorry....a little slow on the uptake. When my friend fixed up my computer he did away with the software I'm used to for resizing my pics. They should show up now.

11-01-2005, 05:48 PM
I had to show you guys the jack-o-lantern I carved. Not much skill with the carving but what I thought was funny were the rubber bouncy ball eyes ...and if you look closely, there are the two mini-pumpkins that Michael and I painted. Guess who did what...

Hi Girls

Noelle CUTE pics! We had a nice time on Halloween. No rain and it wasn't too cold. The kids got tons of candy. They went to more houses this year than last year. I was tired by the end. I saw older kids without mom and dad and I thought to myself before I know it they will be embarrassed to be seen with us so I better enjoy it :).

How are you feeling Angie? Get well!

Sorry I have not been around to much. I just have not been feeling well. I have this mouth pain that three doctors can't figure out what it is. I was on antibiotics and steriods which aren't really helping either. They are just making me feel blah. So this afternoon I am back to the dentist again. I am just in pain all the time. Sorry to complain but I wanted you guys to know why I have not been writing so much. I made some homemade pea soup and rolls last night. It was so good. It was a nice fall dinner. Anyway sweethearts I will check back later on. Have a great day everyone :)
Hi Kempy, Cal, Cherie, Dips and Holly too

11-02-2005, 05:07 PM
hi guys. How is everyone today. Good I hope. I am having in law problems. They are so mean and I just cant take them anymore. They say things that are untrue just to hurt us I think. I am so sick of dealing with them. 17 years of my life I have been putting up with them and I think I am about done dealing with them all together.

On the plus side I went to get my eyes checked this morning. Gonna get some new contacts. :cheer: That is about it for me today.

11-03-2005, 09:54 AM
OH my goodness! I just did 80 push-ups (not straigt through 2 sets of 30 then 1 set of 20) And I am trembling something awefull.:hyper: I can barely type.

Noelle- No partying for me I had to do homework. I so wanted to go to the parade though I heard it was Jumpin'. So sorry, you won't get much vicarious action through me. Tomorrow is a different story though, I am partying hard for my b-day! My last full day as a 23 year old , wow where does time go? Anyway, your kid is truely a heart breaker. Just the cutest little ninja in creation. He gets it from his mommy without a doubt ;)

Angie- I feel your pain with the in-laws. That was the core reason for my break-up with my ex fiance. His mother couldn't stand me and the feeling was mutual. I can't really give you any advise seeing how I let it destroy my relationship but I can definately offer sympathy.

J- My poor dear, I hope you figure out what's bothering you and get it talken care of

Okay Im going to tremble to death, I need to stretch more.

Hey everyone.. what day is this????? I think I am finally caught up with most of my work here... and I can take a break and check in with you gals!

There is a link to the girls Halloween pictures... as you can see by the amount of candy... they had a GREAT time. By the end.. both were saying their bags were too heavy to carry. Perfect sign that they got way more than enough. We were only out for an hour.. but I think they were scamming everyone into giving them two and three and four pieces!

Now to bore you with my vacation pictures. There are a lot of them, and I didn't caption them, so you will probably get bored. Sorry. Last Thursday, in Roatan, Honduras I got bit all over my back and shoulders by something. We think it could be sand mites.. well, I STILL have the blasted bites, and now they are raised and itching like crazy! Great Vacation souvenier. :D

Noelle.... Michael is soooooo HANDSOME!!! Oh my goodness... what a beautiful boy! I am glad he had a great time.. and I love all of your pumpkins!

Julie... I hope you find out soon what is wrong and start feeling better. Glad your kiddos had a great time on Halloween.

Angie I'm sorry about the inlaws.... sometimes its just easier to write them off and not stress over them.

Dips... wtg on the pushups!!!!! woo hoo.. you go!

Well, tomorrow is Hannah's 8th birthday. I can't believe she is getting so old. Yesterday, we went to the orthodontist to have spacers put inbetween her back teeth. Next week they will take molds and then the week after that, she will get an appliance fitted, with a thumb sucking reminder. I can't seem to break her of that habit. It looks like I'll be getting braces soon too.... I'll have my first appointment then to see what needs to be done for my teeth.

Tonight, Hannah and I are going to make the No Bake Cookies for her class. She wants 40 of them so everyone can have two.. plus she wants apple juice. Tomorrow evening, I am taking her and three of her friends (plus Megan) to Incredible Pizza. Afterwards, one of them will spend the night with her. Her very first sleep over. I hope she has fun. Sunday... we are going rollerskating. All in all, it should be a great weekend.

Oh.. on the 1st.. I started back on my diet. After seeing some of my pictures (the ones that Alan took that are not posted) full length, I am ashamed of myself.. so I've found my motivation and have started back. I just need to order a huge picture of that and post them everywhere in my house to remind me NOT to eat. Oh.. and while I was gone, my digital scale that I ordered (food scale) came in. I cannot believe how off I was in measuring my food. No wonder I couldn't loose weight.

OK.. well, I better get back to work.. I just wanted to say hello to everyone!!!!

Talk to you guys later!

Hi Girls

Cherie, great pictures! You are such a pretty woman. The black dress is beautiful. Alan must have been so proud to show you off! The girls look adorable. My dd just walked by the computer and said I want a dress like that, LOL. My dd is still sucking her thumb. I remind her during the day but when she is sleeping it is in. Happy Birthday sweet Hannah :hb:

Dips go girl with the push ups. I can do the girl style ones but I don't think I could do the real ones 5 times.

Angie so sorry the in-laws are being a pain. Do you think you should just come out and say something to them or leave it alone? Good luck with that. And congrats on the new contacts. That reminds me I have to re-order some.

Noelle I hope you are having a nice day....anything planned for the weekend?

Kempy where have ya been? I hope all is well. Busy with those puppies!

Hi Cal. Hope the students are being good for you :)

Hi Holly.

I am in the process of cleaning out my basement. I can't believe the stuff I keep. I have to stop being so sentimental about things and just get rid of them, but it is hard. I found a couple of new shirts from last christmas I got in a christmas box from my mil and washed them up. That was a nice surprise. She was probally wondering why she has not seen me in them. LOL
Anyway I don't even recognize myself in the mirror my face is so swollen from the steriod I am one. I can't wait to be done with the dumb things. I feel so ugly!

Have a great rest of the day everyone.

11-03-2005, 04:38 PM
Cherie, I wanted to ask you are you back on South Beach? My brother and sil are coming in from California and I wanted to be ten pounds lighter by now. Oh well just move on and keep going. Btw would you or anyone like to do a weekely challenge like getting in water for the day or something else? It might be a way to keep each other on track! Just a thought girls, bye for now :)

11-03-2005, 07:58 PM
Hello there people. Remember me? I used to post here a long time again. Wondering if there's room for me again. :?: I'm looking for an active thread, one where I know someone's going to be posting. I've been busy on the 21-day challenge thread but sometimes just want a another place to go... whaddya say?

11-03-2005, 10:58 PM
Hi Red, Jump on in :)

Good Night Everyone, Happy Friday!

11-04-2005, 12:46 AM
YAY :dancer: Welcome back Red. I missed you so much! Glad you are back with us. How has everything been??? You almost gave me a heart attack thinking you were over 700 pounds. Most of us are in the US, no metric system over here

J- Are you feeling any better?? I hope so. I am all about the weekly challenge. It will be so hard to get the water I need when it gets cold out here but I'll give it my best shot. What do you want our first goal to be??

Cherie- Your vacation looked like so much fun! I'm with J, you look so good in that dress. Don't stress yourself about your weight. I'm just proud of you for always trying to stay on track. You will do it, I have faith in you. BTW, your girls look like such Angels! Hey, Hannah and I have the same B-day  How cool is that. She can eat al the cake for the both of us.

Angie- How's it going? Are those in-laws still getting on your nerves??!!

Kempy- How are the pups?

Aloha Noelle- What's good on the island?? Can you send some of that warmth my way?

Well, gotta stay up and study for my last midterm of the semester. TTYL

11-04-2005, 01:53 AM
 Hey there Red! Welcome back. Of course we remember you. Genki desu ka :) It seems you are doing great. With you and Dips back online here maybe you can get some motivational vibes going for the rest of us in a slump. :strong:

11-04-2005, 02:08 AM
Well, I just booked a complimentary 2 night stay the the Rio Hotel in Sin City for next month... we already have a room downtown at the Fremont but I figured since the Rio was free I might as well take advantage of it. I am going to indulge in their Seafood Buffet while I'm there. Don't worry, I'm selective and go for the steamed lobster tails :hun: and stay away from all that deep fried stuff. Then we're back at the Fremont Street Experience for the New Year's eve celebration :woo:

Cherie, you have got two beauties on your hands. They are so adorable, you can just see the young ladies they will become. Watch out for them boys! And you lady, are stunning! Alan is a lucky man to have you dressing up his arm. You guys look great together. I love those inner tube pics, was that a cave??! I am such a chicken in the water...Beautiful scenery all over. Sorry about the sand mites, those sound horrible.

Julie, do the docs know what's going on w/your smile? Steroids huh? Now would be a good time to start lifting weights :^: ;) Just playing with ya. I know it sucks to be in pain. Hope you feel better soon. So your little bros coming to visit again? That's so cool. I know you guys are close. I think he'll enjoy the cooler weather. I'm up for a challenge. I need to get my water in as well. I'll shoot for 4 bottles while I'm at work and 3 large glasses (30+ oz glass) while I'm at home.

Angie, you know I feel for you. I try to stay as far away from mine as possible...yuck, speaking of which, I was on my way to the grocery store and i saw my SIL and BIL driving in the other direction. Just seeing them gave me the heebie jeebies  I know I am rotten to the core

Kempy how are your little babies doing? They must be getting mobile?

Cal, Friday's on it's way! Anything new and exciting happening in your classroom?

Dips, have fun on your birthday and don't do anything I wouldn't do. (don't worry, there's lots of leeway there).

Holly, hope you're doing good out there. How was your halloween?

Well, I've got to clear some things off my bed before I can hop in it. Talk with you all tomorrow. Nighty night.

11-04-2005, 12:43 PM
Just a quick post here; I've been home sick for two days. Of course, this is like a vacation for me because I can truely rest with Ashley and Alberto gone for the day. I'm feeling a little better today, but I'm still going to the docter. I'll take care of the mess in my room when I go back on Monday. I know the kids will have really been trying for the sub.

Dips: Good luck on the midterms. Enjoy your birthday celebration; you deserve it.

Noelle: I just can't get the pics of Ashley to post. If I email them to you could you try? Otherwise, I'll post them on the photobucket site.

Angie: I don't have any problems with my inlaws (of course they are over 6000 miles away) :D Hang in there. I read that Maine wants to be changed over to the Atlantic time zone. Just curious, how do you feel about that?

Julie: I hope everything works out well and the pain goes away for you.

Kempy: The puppies were sooooo cute! Ashley saw the pics and asked if she could have one. I had to show her on a map how far away you were and that we couldn't just drive over and get one. I told her it would take too long to drive and she said "Not drive, mom. We can take a plane!" Oh the things kids say. By the way, could you PM me your address? I thought I still had it, but I can't find it.

Cherie: What beautiful princesses you have. You will have to watch out for the boys. You are a beauty as well. It's easy to see where the girls get their looks from. It looks like you had a great time on your cruise. Lucky!!

Red: Welcome back. I also remember you.

Take care everyone. I'm off to the doctor.

11-04-2005, 06:06 PM
Happy Friday ladies!!! I'm kind of just watching the clock waiting for quitting time (not for another 4 hours for me :( )... Anyway, just wanted to say hey.

Cal, I resized the pics of Ashley and her cousin at Halloween. TOO CUTE!!! I can't believe how much older she looks these days. She's quite the young lady. And I declare! I love that hat on Alyssa. :)

Pic 1: Ashley as Princess Jasmine with her cousin Alyssa the Southern Belle
Pic 2: Ashley

11-04-2005, 07:13 PM
Hello, everyone. Thanks for the welcome. I'm glad some of you remembered me. Hmmm. I wonder what kind of an impression I left to have you do that... :?: I hope it was a good one! Well, it's Saturday morning and I'm getting a late start but have to get out to work. Whereas normally I'm in bed by 9 p.m., last night it was beers and a midnight hitting of the hay. I just realized that this expression is closer to the truth for me than most, since tatami mats under my futon ARE indeed made of straw. Oh the coffee kicking in already?!?! :coffee2: Let's hope so. I feel pretty ill....ugh....

I was out with a colleague trying to figure out the best way to spring a coworker from the police. Seems he got himself in a tussle with a barowner 4 a.m. the other night and did some damage, got arrested and is sitting in the tank now. They can hold you here with no charges for 70 days! He should have thrown himself on the ground and groveled out an apology but since he didn't remember a thing, he can't believe it was him they're talking about. However, (talking to the U.K. Embassy people yesterday) I learn that not remembering is equal to denying and grounds for deportation. Anyhow, we are trying to think of a way to grovel to the barowner and get him to call off the dogs. The company is doing nothing...little wimps. The kid is a nice kid and we foreigners gotta stick together..he's not allowed to speak English and his Japanese isn't that good. ..I'm going to try to help where I can...ah, such is life...gotta watch out for the young 'uns.

Dips -- How goes it!!? You had me laughing as I thought of you being shocked into thinking I was 700 pounds!! I have a kilogram scale so that's what I use and I don't like to convert it 'cause it's such a fractional number. Well, it's fraction in kgs too, but I think it sounds better to be 70 than 160 anyhow. Ah, to be 70 would be nice. I'm close though, but damn, I have been close for months and months now. Oh well, gotta kick some A! Speaking of big As, are you still in the Apple? And is that the way you look in that avatar pic, you fox! :spin:

jbbm -- Hi there and thanks. :goodvibes

mele -- Noelle, hello! Thanks so much for the red balloon photo. Yup, genki desu yo!! Okane ga nai kedo.....broke as ever and digging the hole deeper but....I carry on in my headstrong, stupid way! So, what's this about you all being in a slump?! Oh, no! We can't have that, can we? Actually I don't believe you, you all sound as hopping as ever! Love all the pictures and the kiddies are the cutest. Is Sin City, btw, Vegas? Not sure about these things....

calnative -- Thanks! Sorry to hear you've been sick. Hope you get better real soon. I've been sick for about two weeks now, with some lung infection or something. A lot of it going around here this time of year and with the crowds, things really spread.

Well, hello to any others, I see there are some other names I remember, of course, Angie, and Kempy and Cherie. Any others, hope to get to know you real soon. Well, gotta run. Ciao a presto!! :bubbles:

11-04-2005, 07:32 PM
Dips, I just realized yesterday was your birthday!!!
Well, still your today!! So, have a great one!!!

Happy Birthday from me also!

11-06-2005, 01:15 AM
Hello!?!?! :listen: What's this? Does everyone take weekends off around here? I hope not. Weekends, weekdays, they're all work for me and work means urges to distract myself from it, which means I want to read posts! Come on, isn't someone out there up for a rant or rave or in some way long rambling post?

11-06-2005, 08:01 AM
Hello girlz!!

Whew! Did I wear myself out on friday. I was at the club till 5, went to IHOP and got in at 7:30am on saturday. I slept til about 4 and got up feeling sore like I worked out or something, well I guess I sorta did :D I was too tired to do anything saturday and I have to work today so pray for me.

Red- How's it going, lady. We usually don't take weekends off but it was a task getting my energy back up. I'm still not there yet. Thank you for the ery festive B-day post. I love it. Yes that's me in my avatar about 2 years ago but I don't look exactly like that today. Take off a good 10-15 pounds and that's what you'd be looking at today. I'll be posting my b-day picks so you can get a better idea.

Mazarin- Thank you also. How very sweet of you to post to me.

Cal- How's it going? Your little lady looks adorable, as does her cousin. Let me find out you got some brown folks in the family, Holla! Anyways they looked like they had a blast.

A big hello to everyone else. I am still recovering from the weekend. (And I don't even drink) I guess I'm getting old. TTYL

11-06-2005, 06:25 PM
Hello people. How are you? Where are you? Glad we at least heard from Dips. I had a great day yesterday. Felt stronger after being sick for about two weeks and got to the gym after riding. Walked the 50 mins there in the rain and did some weights and jogging. I haven't done weights in a long time. I don't know. I was thinking, the muscle was doing funny stuff under my skin, like making me look huge. It could be the fat though. I don't know. I guess I shouldn't get scared off the weights. It's just that I always tend to hit them hard. Really am going to have to push myself to go longer, not heavier.

I would love to get in shape in a month but wonder how plausible that is. I will probably be going to Hong Kong in early December and, not that it matters much, but I would like to feel tight and fit, instead of sloppy like I do. I suppose if I whipped this bod every day I could see some results in the four weeks that I have but I always seem to get busy and let the exercise fall to the wayside, or sleep in when I could be getting up and doing something. Yesterday, these days, I would have blown off the gym because I'd already ridden, but didn't. If I could just keep that mindset going, it'd be great. I really, really, need some emotional boost! Well, hate to bore you all..... :kickcan:

Dips -- Hi there! Wow, sounds like you had a great birthday. What's IHOP, by the way? I take it it's some club, no? "Pray for you" :lol3: That bad, huh? Or should I say, that good? But, if you don't drink, you can't be that bad off, no? Just what kind of contortions do you get in to? I picture you like yoga dancing or something. Well, glad you had fun. Hope this year is a great one for you! :sunny:

11-06-2005, 10:16 PM
Red, You are so funny!! First of all, IHOP is the International House of Pancakes. It's basically a 24-hour diner where you can have breakfast for dinner or vice versa. I love it it's great. Good place to grab a bite to eat after the club or whenever. At any rate, I think what got to me was the smokers in the restrooms. I have a bad reaction to cigarrette smoke. I have flemin my throat and my throat is a little sore but I'm sucking down lemon juice and tea so I should be fine by morning.

How's itgoing with that kid who got in trouble?? Any luck getting him off the hook?

BTW you can totaly shape yourself up by december. Go for it!!You're right about the weights, more reps and less weight is the way to go to get lean and not bulky.

Where is everybody else. Must be a busy weekend. Anyways, talk to you later. Saionara (did I spell that right??)

11-07-2005, 07:55 AM
Hi all....all??!!? There is no "all." Ah, well, Dips is here with me.... :(
No real exercise today. This is what happens. And now work has come in and there will be no time to get to the gym tomorrow. I need something I can do at home. I have an exerciser but no room to set it up. Oh well, I will get some exercise in tomorrow, just not the gym. Just will watch the food intake!

Dips -- You give me hope! Maybe I can make a dent in this bod of thickness. The time flies though and I can pack in the food so easily. How did you ever get so thin?!? Then again, I remember, back when you were in Germany you were like starving yourself with about the same amount of calories my cats eat, each one of them!

I hope you're feeling better. Where is there a pancake place in NY? I remember them from when I was a kid but we just called it the Pancake House and I never knew the real name, or never thought of it.

The wayward coworker is still sitting in the slammer. It's just so, so ridiculous for what he did. We're hoping we can spring him in 6 days after his initial 10 are up that he got for not immediately getting down on his hands and knees and begging forgiveness (I kid you not!). It was hard for him to do that because he didn't remember a thing. I've helped with writing letters in Japanese and English as he can't have anything in English alone. I wrote something in super simple Japanese too with no Chinese characters. They (his girl's parents) were able to show him that through the glass today (I mean, "through the glass?!?!?!" :?: like he was some kind of psycho serial killer or something). All he did was kick in a little plastic sign and push the bar owner a bit. We at the office were going to send him some books but he's not even allowed English books and his Japanese is at the beginner level. In any case, we hope he can get out in 6 days. We are thinking of placing bets on the desk as to the actual number of days he'll have to spend in there....we are an evil bunch! :lol3: We had another guy at work get in trouble with the powers that be and he sat for three months with no charges... and then they deported him. Well, I better stop. You must all think I work with a bunch of criminals by now.

11-07-2005, 03:03 PM
Happy Monday all!!! I am trying to do a little housecleaning. I HATE clutter!!! I dont like my elliptical or exercise bike so I put them in the local paper to try to get rid of them and for now they are out in my shed. I brought out my treadmill and have it all set up and all I have to do is get my obese *** on it.

I am trying to sell the new livingroom set I bought too because I dont like it. I went for fluffy furniture and now I know I dont like fluffy furniture. I want a sectional again so maybe I can get rid of this and start over. I am so picky. haha

Dips, HAPPY BELATED BIRTHDAY!!! :hb: :gift: :hat: :woo: I am sorry I didnt get a chance to wish you a good one beforehand. It sounds like you had quite the night though. I am glad you had fun. Maybe some year we can all get together and take that time to celebrate all of our birthdays together. :woo: :grouphug:

Red, Hey girl!! It is nice to hear from you again. I thought you had left us for good. Geesh, I hope you can get your friend out. It doesnt sound very American friendly over there.

Julie, I hope you got some help for your mouth pain. Does anyone have any idea on what is causing it?

Noelle, How was your weekend?

Cherie, Did you get back in the groove after your cruise? Your pics were awesome and your girls costumes were great.

Kempy, How are those puppies doing? I cant wait to see some updated pics.

11-07-2005, 03:39 PM
Good morning, people. It's the start of another day, Tuesday here. Still dark out but I am often up and out before dawn. It's going to be a long and busy day and I couldn't get much sleep. Too many things on my mind, both of yesterday and the day to come. I hate that, not being able to sleep when you really need it, like before a trip, the night before the actual traveling day. :stress:

These are the times that try women's souls...or similar to that. These are the times when I reach for food in a sorry attempt to quiet my nerves. What I really need is sleep but that's not to be had. Even my usual dozing on the train will have to be foregone because I have to be doing the initial pondering of some translation work I have to do. Oh well, no time to ramble. Up and at 'em! :strong:

angie -- Hello! I was wondering where you'd been. I start back and then there's like no posts! Thank God, Dips was in. But now you're here and I'm sure there will be a right slew of posts to follow! It's good to be clearing things out, isn't it? Better than having the unused and unwanted things sitting around. I hope you get use out of that treadmill! And you'll have that posterior whittled down in no time! :goodvibes What exactly is "fluffy furniture?" I'm picturing a soft easy chair of goose down that you sink into and have trouble getting back up out of, no?

Yes, thanks for the wishes for my co-worker. That was one of the things on my mind keeping me awake, that and the fact that I had emailed a manager at work who kind of screwed me over last year and who hasn't exchanged a word with me all year! I emailed him because he was helping out with a character reference letter for this kid, but he hasn't even bothered to reply to my email and it is ticking me right bad. Okay, okay, he may not have seen it, but I doubt that. Still....I will withhold judgment...nah, what the heck, I'll just stop thinking about it. Once a loser, always a loser! I go to see the young guy today and will have to totally control myself and smile at the cops and all and do all this bowing and scraping probably and have them checking my "alien registration card" and stuff. And then I'll have to interpret for myself and...ugh!!...I can only see the guy for 15 mins! And it's like an hour and a half away or more. Japan is not NOT American friendly. It's foreigner unfriendly, period, always has been, probably always will be. Island mentality and all that I guess....

Well, hope you and everyone else (if they ever show up!!) have a great day!

Hey ladies, just popping in to say hi  I was out and about this weekend so I couldn't post. My sis' workplace had a friends and family night last night so I was helping her set up some things. Free food, free give-aways and the like. I left last night at around 7:45 pm and then my other sis calls me to say that they called my name for a door prize--a freakin' recliner (she works for a furniture store), but you had to be present to win. Oh well, I don't exactly have the space for a recliner anyway. Other than that, we were working on a scrapbook project for another friend whose b-day is coming up. I am so not artsy-craftsy so it took me quite awhile to do my part. Oooh, and I bought my Harry Potter Goblet of Fire movie presale tickets. I can't wait to see it!

Red, I can't imagine being incarcerated (sp?) in a foreign country and not being able to speak the language. That is scary. I hope your efforts can get your friend out in a short time. Yes "Sin City" is Las Vegas. In fact, I was just there last month and we saw quite a few sumo wrestlers who flew in from Japan. They had a big sumo tournament at the Manadalay Bay Hotel on the Strip. I don't know how they grow those guys so tall and big :sumo:

Dips, you don't drink? Good girl! It seems like ages since I've stayed out all night until the wee breakfast hours. So...did you get a good birthday haul?

Angie, Angie, Angie... your poor furniture must feel so rejected. Hey, whatever makes you happy right? Wanna know a secret? My treadmill was sitting out in my garage for so long it rusted. I finally got the City bulk pick up to take it away last month :^: .

Julie, how are you doing today? Feeling any better? I saw Simon Cowell on Regis & Kelly this morning. When does AI 5 start???

Cal, hope you're feeling better as well. Back at school today?

Kempy, did you take any more pics of those puppies? They're so cute I just wanna pick 'em up and squeeze 'em.

Cherie, how's your day going? Did you and the girls do anything fun this weekend?

Well, I really gotta go and get some work done. I'll try and pop in later. Have a good one.

11-08-2005, 09:06 AM
And so it starts...the "sick season" is upon us and a nasty cold virus is spreading among the office. Despite my tireless efforts o avoid the germs
(the anti-bacterial hand gel, creating my own quarentine in my office) I still got sick. Those germ infested *******s at work made me sick!! I'll be battling a cold for the next few days. I guess it could be worse (bird flu). At any rate, I have no appetite because my sense of taste has decreased. I guess I'll just do tea and soup til I feel better. I hate to go to school and get others sick but these classes cost too much damn money.

Noelle- I would have sworn you were artsy with that excellent work on the pumpkin :) I don't drik but I do enough to make up for that believe you me ;). Still, I had an excellent time. I will not be parting that late any time soon.

Angie- You are one fickle woman! Good luck with the new furniture.

Red- You are a funny girl. It sounds like a whole mess your friend got in. I guess that's one of the reasons I don't drink. I want to be aware of everything. At any rate I hope all goes well. Don't let these things stress you too much, you're doing all you can. Sleep is way underrated, you gotta get some rest girl!

J- Are you feeling better yet? I hope so.

Well I'm off to class. I'll pop in later.

11-08-2005, 09:43 AM
Good Morning girls!!! It is sunny and about 40 out here this morning. I am trying to convince myself to go get on my treadmill and start to lose all the weight that I have gained back. I will be starting from scratch again because I am only 5 pounds away from my highest ever weight. That is alot of weight!!! I take full blame for it though. I just wish it wasnt so easy to fall back into all the old habits again.

So what does everyone have planned for today?

Dips, I hope you feel better soon. You sound just like me. I have the hand sanitizer in the car so I can use it after I leave stores. I hate public bathrooms and the thoughts of who used the carts before me.

Poor Mickey(my dog) He is sitting here on the sofa trying to sleep and both kittens keep curling up to him to try to cuddle. He puts up with so much from them. haha

11-08-2005, 09:54 AM
Hey guys.... I am going through some personal stuff right now, so I will pop back in when I can and ready to talk about it. I hope you guys are doing great.

11-08-2005, 10:47 AM
WOW :carrot: :strong: :ebike: :tread: :bike:

Okay girls, I am really trying to put in an effort today to get back on track and get back to my old self. I had 1 cup of cheerios with skim milk for breakfast and I am going to have some WOW chips and a turkey sandwich for my lunch but the most important thing I did was get on my treadmill and walk for a half an hour. This is huge for me because I havent exercised in so long. I have to say that I feel good, it is amazing how hard it is to get up the ambition to do it but yet it feels like such an accomplishment when it is over. I set up a nice area in my bedroom. I have a big screen tv in there and I put the treadmill by the wall with a big fan in front of it and I watched the dysfunctional couples on Dr. Phil and walked. I will try to do at least another 15 minutes tonight as well.

{{{{Cherie}}} We are here for you when you are ready to talk. Love ya

11-08-2005, 12:17 PM
Hi Girls,

Cherie, :grouphug: like Angie said we are here for you. You are in my thoughts.

Angie go girl!!!! I am proud of you. Your menu for the day sounds great. I am still battling Halloween candy but I did not give in and have a piece last night. It is going to be in the fifties here today so I would like to get in a walk. When I brought my son to school this morning it felt like a Spring day.

Dips Happy Birthday :gift: :woo: :hb: sorry the wishes are late. It sounds like you had a good one! 24 now? You are baby yet :) Hope you feel better soon. No matter how hard we try sometimes to avoid sickness we still get it. I am like Angie, I use sanitzer that I keep in my car after the stores.

Noelle to bad about the recliner. That would be my luck too, LOL.

Kempy, I called about a yellow lab pup in the paper. I wanted her so bad but my dh doesn't think going in to winter would be a good time to get one. :(
He wants one all ready potty trained. So I might check the humane society. I think a dog would be good for the kids. Our last dog was a lab and they are so wonderful. So how is everything? Are you still at the salon?

Last weekend we went and saw the movie Chicken Little with the kids. It was a cute movie but kind of hard to follow, the story jumped around alot.
Yesterday I started writing down the foods I eat, all meals and snacks. I have to get some of this weight off. Last year I was at goal at this time. SO maybe this will help. Well girls everyone have a great day!

Hi Cal, Holly and Red.

11-08-2005, 12:32 PM
Thanks Julie!! I did my hand weights too. I am trying I guess that is all I can do and not give up.

Oh a dog!! I bet your kiddos would love that. I was reading through our Uncle Hnerys book(a swap and sell book for our area) and this woman was trying to find a good home for her black German Shepherd because her husband was complaining and making it impossible for her to keep her. I felt so bad for the poor dog. She was beautiful by the way and I bet the husband abuses her too if he is that bad. If I could find a home for her I would. I hate to see animals suffer in homes where they arent wanted. end rant.

I think I will make fat free hot dogs and baked fries with cauliflower for supper tonight. That sounds pretty good to me. I have been surfing the 3FC websight today and I havent done that for about 2 years. I should do a journal again.

11-08-2005, 04:39 PM
Angie that is sad about the dog. I would take her but we have our hearts set on a lab. Dh always had one while growing up and it was our first dog together. I might be making hot dogs for dinner tonight too. I am not sure yet. Throw them on the grill with some beans and chips? No chips for me :) or only a couple. Yesterday I made a pot of chili and put it in the crockpot and left it cook all was so good. Well that is about it for me. I want to get to the store and look for some boots before the snow comes. We also need new shovels. It is hard to think about snow with a beautiful day here being in the fifties.
Bye for now all.

11-08-2005, 04:41 PM
Oh I wanted to mention I took a good 30 minute walk this morning and I am still writing down the foods I am eating. I want to be down a pound next week at this time, maybe two?

11-08-2005, 04:45 PM
Hey ladies, I am so goofing up this morning...for the past few days I've been looking online for a reasonably priced jacket for my upcoming trip to Vegas (the black one I'm wearing in my profile pic is a tad bit snug these days :ink: ). Well, I finally settled on one and then while going through my closet this morning, WAY over on the lefthand side is a brown leather bomber type jacket which I've had for years and just forgot about. I must've worn it about 13 years ago??? But I put it on and it fit! So I didn't really need to buy another one--and that just goes to show you that 13 years ago I was big too  But anyway, I also was psyching myself out to go back to my WW meetings which I thought were @ 9 a.m. this such luck, it's on Wednesday @ 9 a.m..... so I got the wrong freakin' day. I dug out my old organizer w/my quicktrak food logs and calculators and everything. I'm back at work now trying to get my scattered head together. And how are your days going so far?

Angie, bravo girl! I am proud of you :cp: I know from personal experience how difficult it is to GET on that right track and STAY on. I am trying to get motivated myself (see above blatherings  ). I think with more people on here getting into the groove of things the good-eating and exercise vibes will rub off :crossed:.

Dips, :( damn those germ-spreading co-workers! Go give some of those germs to your classmates

Cherie, :grouphug: we're always here if you need us.

Julie, I didn't really care for Chicken Little although Michael liked it. Yeah, it did jump around quite a bit. It was too much of a "copycat" of a whole bunch of other movies (reminded me of War of the Worlds and that M Night Shymalan movie w/Mel Gibson and Joaquin Phoenix in it...the name escapes me). I am SO eagerly awaiting Harry Potter though :goodvibes:

Red, you should be greeting a new day right about now :sunny:. Hope you were able to get some sleep. Your mind can definitely do things at night and keep you awake even when you want to crash. How's your co-worker holding up?

Cal, how are things in AZ? Cooling down some?

Kempy, don't hide girl. Come out and chat.

Holly, you too :)

Gotta get a move on for now. Have a good one guys.

11-08-2005, 08:26 PM
Okay, so I've armed myself with the following

Vicc nazal spray
Vicks vapor shower cubes
Vicks formula 44
Halls cough drops

I forgot the kleenex which was probably the most important thing. The bathroom tissue is the next best thing cuz paper towels reek havoc on my little nose. :(

Noelle- You are such a funny girl. I was actually triyng to avoid contact with my classmates because I don't want them to get sick. But it's impossible. There are so many common areas of contact; elevator buttons, water fountain, doors, hand-out sheets, the attendance sheet. Somebody is gonna get sick! you and your Harry Potter. Again, never seen any of the movies, never read a page of the books. So sorry I can't share your joy (yeah right  ) So you're going back to WW?! Good girl! You're already a fox and now you're gonna be a super fox!!

Angie- :carrot: Work it girl!! I'm proud of you too. I know you can do it. Summer will be back before we know it. We should all strive to get into the best shape ever! I'll be on your case as much as possible because consitance is the key.

J- Good idea on the food journal. I'm too lazy but today it would have been very easy. Breakfast= tea, lunch = tea, snack= dose of vicks 44 Dinner= pizza. Pretty good huh. I want a doggie too but I hardly have any time for myself. Hope you get one for the spring. BTW I found out hand sanitizer only lasts a few minutes before germmies can attack again.

Hey Red, Kempy and Holly. Holla back whne yo get a minute.

Ciao Ladies!

11-08-2005, 08:33 PM
Holy crap! Wher have I been. I finally get the puter back and I don't get on it. I guess I got used to not having it. I need to sit myself down here more often.

Hey Red, glad to see you back. It is alwasy nice to see a familiar name from the past.

I don't have any new pics b/c Joe has the camera. The babies are getting huge. They see me know and come waddling over to play but they still can't walk very well. They are loud though. I think they found their voices and they are not afraid to use them. I will pos a new pic as soon as I can.

I heve been really busy down here. We bought a piece of propery in north LA so we have been dealing with that loan. What a headache. I started selling Mary Kay and I am trying to get myself organized with that. My clients are still the same ones that I have had which is ok but I want more. Greedy, huh?

I don't have time to do inidividual post plus I havn't had time to read them all. I know bad Kempy. I need to feed the dogs. They are jumping on the door to let me know they mean it.

Chat later.

11-08-2005, 11:43 PM
I am feeling better now. I went back to school yesterday and the kids just kept coming to me and welcoming me back. They kept saying that they missed me and that the sub was mean. (She made them work) I told them that I would be sure to request her again if I'm ever out again.

Ashley is on a volleyball team now. They had their first game tonight. It's so cute to see the 7 and 8 year olds trying hard to play, but cringing when the ball comes for them. Her team lost, but they had a fun time playing. Members of her team were the only ones to return serves. The other team had better servers. Ashley just loves it.

Hubby wants to get rid of our dog, but I won't let him. For some reason Tucker started digging again. I don't know why. He's only done it once so far, but I put some crushed red pepper in the area where he dug and I haven't seen any more signs of digging. He was digging near one of the sprinkler heads and we can't have him damaging those.

I have grades to post so I can't do any personal posts. I hope everyone has a great evening.

11-09-2005, 01:20 AM
Hey Cal, I'm glad Ashley has found a sport she enjoys. I can just picture the girls cringing and blocking their faces from the oncoming ball  . Volleyball is becoming quite a hot sport. HI has some really fanatical people rooting for our local University, and the high school girls are getting quite good too. Hmm, that's too bad about Tucker. Does he get to go out and walk to burn off his doggie energy? You know, this may sound really gross, but we did this and it really worked: bury the dogs own doggy-doo in the space he likes to dig. It has to be fresh and it has to be his. He will not want to dig there again. I apologize if this grosses anyone out but it has worked time and again for different dogs we've had. OK, end of that subject.

Hi Kempy, so is your property just for investment? Hey, maybe if you sell a lot of Mary Kay you can get a really nice pink automobile :). How are things at the salon?

Dips, um, your food log today sounds a bit lacking of food? Does consuming Vicks 44 count toward your daily water intake? Hope you're back to feeling 100% real soon. Hey, thanks for the vote of confidence on my WW venture. I actually decided not to wait til tomorrow and found a meeting @ 12 noon today--so you guys heard it here first, I am now officially 'rejoined' at WW. Keep me accountable people, I'm gonna need occasional butt kickin' I'm sure.

Well, gotta make sure my stinky boy gets a shower in tonight. Have a good night all and hope to see more posts tomorrow.

11-09-2005, 08:28 AM
Today I'm not feeling any better or any worse, still stuck wth this stupid cold. YUCK.

Noelle- I know my food journal was foodless but I have no appetite when I'm sick, especially with a cold because I can't taste anything. I couldn't even enjoy my pizza last night. This morning I'm back to tea and Vicks. I'll eat something solid here and there if I can force myself. Trust me though, I will be eating like mad once I'm well again. ( All good SB allowable food ofcourse) For now I am tea lady.

Cal- Very funny about the sub. I remember those days. Nothing like an evil sub to remind you not to take your good teacher fpr granted. Glad you're feeling better though.

Hi Angie, Kempy and J ttyl

11-09-2005, 09:42 AM
Good Morning girls!! Well I stayed totaslly on plan yesterday. :cheer: It felt good even though I was actually hungry by the time I went to bed.

Noelle, CONGRATS on getting back to ww. We can do this girl, remember how excited and good at it we used to be? I want those days back.

Cal, I hope you can find a way to get the pup to stop digging so you dont have to give him away. My lawn is totally fenced just for the dogs so I just let them have at it. (But I can understand with the lawn sprinklers) Mine like to dig down to get to the cool dirt to cool off maybe that is what he is doing? You can buy a bed that is called a canine cooler(i think) that you fill with water and it stays cool for the dog to lay on. I could have given you mine while you were up here because Candi doesnt lay on it. It is good for their joints too. Good Luck.

Dips, Get better girl!

Kempy, What does the kitty think about all those wailing puppies? Is the property you bought up near your families camp?

Well, My day is planned out like this: Breakfast: cereal and skim milk- Lunch: turkey sandwich with wow chips and carrot chips- supper: crispy chicken with baked potato w/Lf sour cream and brocoli Plus at least 30 minutes on the treadmill.

Have a good day today girls!!!

11-09-2005, 11:18 AM
Hey can anyone recommend a good quality pedometer? I would like to buy one but I dont want to waste money on a junky one.

11-09-2005, 01:17 PM
Hey girls. I have such an embarrassing story to tell you, I am sooooooo out of shape now!!!! we had to go to the grocery store for turkey sandwich meat so Jay says we should just walk down with the dogs. It is the same walk that I used to do 4 times a day when I was in shape. Very hilly area...roughly 2 miles. Well, I just about died doing it. Holy cow!!! I was so tired when we got home and I think both of my feet are going to blister up. BUT..... After I got home and done sweating and panting and such:lol:  I feel good(other than my feet which are killing me) This just shows me just how out of shape I am at this huge weight. It also makes me want to strive to get back to a healthy weight and lifestyle.

11-09-2005, 02:22 PM
Hey guys. I was just searching the forum and noticed that they have the chatroom back on here. We should all set up a time some night to have a live chat with each other.

11-09-2005, 02:38 PM
Hey girls, happy Wednesday. Woo-Hoo Angie, you're doing it!!! YEAH I remember being in the groove and dropping weight and feeling good about it. WE CAN DO IT :carrot: . I have to give you props on walking that hill. We went walking our dogs last night too but I didn't even attempt doing my 'regular' route. I did a modified version which is probably only 1/3 of the way. Since I fell off that chair a month or so ago, my left knee has been feeling like it wants to pop off to one side, then my right hip where I actually fell on kinda gets weak. I think I'll be doing that hill within the next week though. Where's my glucosamine pills...oh I forgot, they make me fart :o

Even though I had a bad breakfast (a grande latte w/a maple scone) yesterday, I counted up my points and wrote it in my food log. Those two alone ate up almost half my daily allowance--and I wondered why I kept gaining. I'm staying away from my beloved Starbucks, at least their pastries and stuff. I can always have their mucho-caffienated coffee :cb:.

Dips :grouphug: there ya go, you sound like you need a hug.

:coach: Hey Julie....

Hello to everyone else, gotta get busy. I've got a new guy on the road again. Where's my bullwhip???

11-09-2005, 04:54 PM
:carrot: Go Noelle!! I am feeling great things about all of us putting all we have into being healthy! Even though you took a modified route you took a walk. That is great! :lol3: About the pills.

Angie :bravo: on the walk! It was hard but it will get easier with time. Once again you meal plan sounds good. I don't think I ate enough today because I am kind of hungry now. I think I will have a piece of fruit if anything. I don't know what kind of pedometer is a good one. I think Cherie has one though? I would love to wear one around the house just to see how much I am moving around during the day.

Dips GET WELL SOON :) keep drinking your tea, I swear by tea too when I am sick.

Cal cool about Ashley in volleyball. I hope you don't get rid of the dog. Have a great day.

I got in about 20 minutes of cardio and 80 leg lifts. I didn't realize my legs were so heavy, LOL. I didn't go outside for a walk because the wind gusts here are so strong. Dd would have been way to cold. I think for dinner tonight will be haddock and baked sweet potatoes. Well I have to go get ready to pick up ds. Bye for now.....Hi everyone

11-09-2005, 05:31 PM
Where did this day go? I have been running the roads all day and I am tired. But, the puppies need me. Ahhh, to be loved.

The land is right down the road form our family camp and we are going to build on it in about 3 years. We are going to make it nice tough so I will want to go. It might even turn into a retirement home for us. Joe is really excited about it. He is heading up there this weekend since it is first day of the season but I am sure he will be checking out the land too.

Noelle I am just looking to make some extra cash. The car really isn't on my list of things to get from Mary Kay. I mean if it takes off then good for me but I am kind of a laid back person so this is going to be a test for me. I think I am going to ahve to come out of my shell with this. That is actually scaring me a little.

Dips I hope you feel better soon. Everyone down here has the Katrina cough. I think it from all of the crap stired up in the air. I know a few days after the storm I got really sick. Thankfully our power had come back on. It would have been miserable having a fever with it being so hot. Take care of yourself.

Agnie I am so proud of you for getting back into the swing. It may only be one day but I having even done good for a few hours. I am trying to fix that though.

I am having Thankgiving here and I need to make a list for people to bring stuff. I have no idea what to tell people to bring. What do you guys usally have for dinner. Maybe I can pull some of your stuff.

11-09-2005, 08:35 PM
okay today went down without a hitch. :cheer: YEAH!!! I didnt overeat, got lots of water and an awesome workout. YEAH for me!!!!! I even have all of next weeks meals figured out so I think I can keep this up.

Noelle, You are so funny!!!  Candi gets glucosamine pills for her knee too. YEAH for you too!!! :cheer: Get Those walks in girl and we will feel better in no time at all!!!!

Julie, That is what I wanted a pedometer for too. It may even get me up to do laps around the house at the end of the day if needed.

Kempy, wow, I am happy for you guys to have a weekend retreat. I bet Jope will love it for hunting you wont be so crowded on your holidays, huh? Sounds great!! For Thanksgiving here I just do a turkey with Bell's stuffing, mashed potatoes, gravy and corn. For my dessert we have pudding pie and pumpkin parfaits. Oh yeah I cant forget the cranberry sludge(canned cranberry sauce stuff) That Jay and the kids cant get enough of. GROSS!!!!

So what is everyone asking for for Christmas this year? I am asking for an ipod nano. I have spent so much money on itunes I might as well have the ipod to put them in for walking and working maybe it will keep me motivated. I bought Jay some chrome flame taillight covers for the truck because all the other accessories are flame and I am getting him some Valomilk candies(he wants them) and a socket set. I wanted to buy him some trucknutz but he doesnt like them  I think they are funny.

11-10-2005, 03:57 AM
Angie, I saw those trucknutz, they were HILARIOUS!!! If it were me, I would've just ordered them and put them on the truck without telling, you think he'd notice? Hmmm, you just gave me an idea for what to do for Rick

Good night ladies, I just thought I'd throw that in before I go to bed. More tomorrow!

11-10-2005, 10:35 AM
Good Morning girls!! I just got some Christmas shopping doen for Corey online. I love shopping online then I dont have to go hunting everywhere plus he saved the websight for me with a Christmas list. I already thought of something for all of you so I hope you like it.

Noelle, You are so funny.  I think I may at least get some or the keychain for my sis. She will LOVE them.

Well my plan for today is Breakfast: cereal and skim milk- Lunch: turkey sandwich with wow chips and some more carrots- supper: shepherds pie with green beans

I am not sure how to get my workout in today though because my calves are SOOOOO sore. I will try to do something though. I stepped on the scales today and 2 pounds have vacated so I will keep my fingers crossed that they stay off for my official weigh in on Saturday.

11-10-2005, 11:41 AM
Okay I just did half the walk I did yesterday so that is something. :carrot: I will make it a point to do at least 15 minutes on my treadmill after work too.

I forgot to tell you guys but it snowed here again last night. Just a couple inches .

11-10-2005, 04:37 PM
Good job Angie. You are moving right along. We see those trucknuts all over the place here. We are kind of in the country.

I have been with my sister all day working on Mary Kay stuff. Our director came down and she took us to a few places with some roses for women. We did a working womans apperciation day. They all loved it. That may ge us a few clients. I had asked all of the girls at work to come to my open house for Mary Kay tonight. Well, I went to the salon to get a few things for tonight and they were all like, I hope I can make it. Well, that just sent me over the edge. I am very PMSy right now and I just couldn't take that. I just started to get myself REALLY into this and they start with that. I called my sister when I got home and just started to cry. I had no control. I am so upset. I mean my sis has about 15 or 20 people coming and I will be lucky to have my MIL show up. I don't know why I am letting this get to me so much. I was thinking I would just kind of do this on the side but today I saw how easy it was to get clients and it changed my mind. Well, now my feelings are hurt and by the people that I work with. I guess I just don't get it.

Sorry to be a downer. I need to get myself together for tonight so I will chat tomorrow.

11-10-2005, 04:47 PM
Good morning girls, I went out to dinner last night w/a cousin visiting from out of state. It was a restaurant that didn't really have a lite menu but I chose what I thought was the least evil, I had seared scallops (4) with enoki mushrooms and asparagus in a cream sauce (bad). It even had a few pieces of a potato gnocchi which I have never had. It was a weird green color and rather bland but I tasted it anyway. I didn't eat the whole thing so I think I did alright. And I made sure to park as far away as I could so i could at least get a little walking in. I'm supposed to be taking my best girlfriend out to lunch for her birthday today. I'm leaning toward sushi or maybe Vietnamese food since they're usually lite and low in cals. I have got to get out walking today to make up for yesterday. I don't wanna show a gain next week at my first weigh-in, that would be terrible!

Angie, you got it going on girl. Planning is key!!! I had a big long post last night but I hit the "back" button and it got fried... I LOVE LOVE LOVE the good vibes running through here. Just in time for us to get smaller through the holidays instead of bigger, eh? So what did Corey ask for for Xmas? I always get stumped when shopping for my teenage niece and nephew--they are greedy and usually just want money. We got Michael a Nintendo DS Dogs edition and a few other games. We let him pick out a few games with the idea that they were for his cousin, but they're really for him--he'll be so stoked.

Julie, you go girl :strong: Stay safe and warm out there, we don't want to wind to blow you away! Have you guys planned on having turkey day with just your immediate family or do you have to do the run around and visit with everyone and eat 3X kind of thing?

Kempy, I had a nice long post yesterday about what we usually have for made me start to get hungry but here are some of the things I would ask people to bring: desserts (pumpkin pie, custard pie, whatever kind of pie), or maybe a side dish (gravy and mashed potatoes or stuffing) or veggie platter (that's always a safe healthy bet). Our family for some reason, always has a side of Chinese crispy gau gee and some Filipino lumpia--two things that I will not be eating this year. We are going to make a sausage stuffing with Aidells garlic and artichoke sausage. :T

Dips, how are ya feeling today?

Cherie, hope you're doing well. Come back when you can.

Here's a shout out to Holly, Cal and Red and anyone else I may have missed. I gotta run, be back later though.

Heh, people. Sorry to have posted and then disappeared. I've just been and still am WAY TOO busy. Up now early and have to try to get a story written before going to another job. :stress: I try to read your posts when I can. Seems like there are strange lulls in the posting (which is when I decided to come back) and then WHAM!! you get a deluge of posts and it's impossible to keep up unless you make it a fulltime job.

I'm glad to hear some of you are getting serious about the weight loss. Noelle is rockin'!! :strong: I am trying, just find it so frustrating to not be able to do any exercise when I really, really want to and then when I do have time, I'm most likely to have lost the motivation because I feel so frustrated in my actions. Oh well....keep on keeping on.....gotta think of that Hong Kong trip....

11-10-2005, 07:42 PM
Kempy, Florida is where we fist saw a set of Truck Nutz. A guy at the campground had them. Maybe it is a southern thing because I have never seen them up here yet. I remembered the name and looked them up when we got home. I live in the country too. Cal can vouch for how far in the woods I am. I dont think I could live in a city though...I am a chickensh!t. hehe Good Luck with your open house tonight. If I lived by you I would be there for sure.

Noelle, I have had the kids pick out things like that before too. It is easier than trying to ask around to see what they would like and then getting the wrong thing.

Cherie, How ya doing hon? We are here for you no matter what. If you need to talk we are all here to support you. {{{Cherie}}}

Dips, How is that cold coming? I hope it is leaving and you are starting to feel better.

Well, I dont have much going on tonight just gonna watch Survivor. Hey did anyone catch Trading Spouses last night? What a nutjob that woman was. Notice in the end she took the money. haha I thought she was going to kill her family when she got home. They looked scared while she was going off. WOW is all I can say.

11-10-2005, 08:24 PM
Hi girls, whew it took me awhile to read all the posts!

Angie, I just showed dh the nutz, LOL....I have never saw those before. Shepards pie, mmmm sounds so good. We had steaks and twice baked potatoes tonight. I tried to go light on the cheese but you know me I love cheese on everything. Less is better I guess. Oh my god! I couldn't believe that lady last night. I was scared for her kids and husband. I had to laugh my butt off when she was kicking everyone out and the camera girl look so scared.

Noelle I hope you had a fun time with your girlfriend at lunch today. I am sure you will do just wonderful at your weigh in. Btw I was watching Dog last night and it looks like Beth has lost some weight. She is so cool, I just love her. I think we will have an early Thanksgiving dinner next week because my brother is coming in. And on Thanksgiving Day will have another one. At least they are spread out though. I can't wait to eat pumpkin pie!

Kempy I wish I could come on down for your party. Sorry about the co-workers. I hope you get a good number of people.

Dips hope your cold is getting better. Stay warm!

Today I was at ds's school today. I felt so bad he cried when I left :(. He loves his mom :). I am going to start helping out in the class here and there. Other than that call me weird but I am liking writing down the food I eat. It is making me feel responsible for what goes into my mouth. So far this week not one bowl of ice cream after dinner :carrot:. And I have my favorite mint chocolate chip in the freezer. I have really got to start getting some lists made for my family members for christmas, I am such a last minute shopper. Gotta scoot dh wants the computer! Check back soon. Bye sweethearts!
Hug for Cherie. Hi to Cal, Holly and Red!

11-10-2005, 09:42 PM
Hey again. I just got home and onto the computer. I just saw something weird--my last post was 10 minutes after Kempy's, but her post just did not show up on my work computer. I noticed you guys were responding to her but i didn't quite I know why. Kempy, I feel like such a clod. I'm sorry about your co-workers too. I know the feeling, the same thing used to happen to me with my PartyLite candle parties. Everybody would be gung-ho when you're with them but when the actual day came around, maybe one or two would show. Maybe you can at least get them to buy stuff off a catalog if they can't make it to the party? That way you would still make the sale? I would come over too. I would love to learn how to put on makeup properly! :grouphug: Knock 'em dead!

Hi Red...yeah, the posts come and go in waves. So you're heading to Hong Kong soon? I've never been there but I know you can buy a lot of cool stuff there, like Korea and Thailand. My sis and mom did a tour of China and HK a while ago and they came back with tons of bargains.

11-10-2005, 09:53 PM
Julie, awww your sweet little boy.
Hey, you're not weird for enjoying writing down your food intake--at least it's a healthy thing to do and if it empowers you, then great! It's a major thing when you can resist ice cream in the freezer, esp. if it's one of your fav flavors. Bravo!

11-10-2005, 10:16 PM
Thanks Noelle.

I am watching Paula Dean's Thanksgiving. That woman is so awesome. I would love to spend a day with her. She is so bubbly I think I would be bouncing off the walls. Okay time to get ready for bed soon. Have a great Friday tomorrow!
:) GoodNight

11-11-2005, 09:14 AM
Good Morning girls! I guess I have been PMSing all week and I still managed to get back on track. That feels good.

Julie, I love watching Paula Dean too. She makes food like I like to cook. Loaded with fat and love. I love the food channel at Thanksgiving and Christmas time....they make so many nice things.Wow, You rock...I couldnt resist anything good too eat in the house right now. You go girl!

Noelle, My computer only gives me half the notices when someone posts. That is so annoying.

My plan for today is the same as yesterday. I plan to have left over shepherds pie for supper tonight.

I gotta go grocery shopping but will check back later

11-11-2005, 12:15 PM
It is so nice to come back here and see everyone back on track and really working again! Like Noelle said in an earlier post, the energy on here is just amazing. Well, I am hoping to add to that.

Things have been so busy since coming back from the cruise. The girls have had something going on every single night, gymastics, brownies, daisies, parent teacher conferences and I was having a very rough time with some feelings I was having with Alan. I was almost ready to walk away from the relationship, but I think we are back at a truce right now. He will stay in my life, but this week, I have made some major commitments and set some major goals for myself. Instead of focusing on him, I am switching everything to focus on my girls and their activites and on me.

You are going to think I am crazy.... Insane... I know I am.. but this week, I committed and registered to run in the Little Rock Marathon, doing the half Marathon with my friend Tim. He is a lawyer in Arkansas that I've been friends with forever. The most I have ever ran straight was 7 miles, and that was before I got pregnant with Megan. So, it's been awhile. However, I have gotten excited about it, and I have been on my treadmill for the past three nights. I have downloaded a Novice's guide for Training for a Half Marathon, so I am going to work with that and just do it! In addition to all that.. I went and joined the YMCA this week too. That way, I will have a place to do my strength training and my crosstraining, and they have a track so I can run someplace other than my treadmill. Since I've gotten back from the cruise, I have lost 4 pounds. I'm not going to concentrate so much on my diet and trying to lose weight, rather I am going to concentrate on my training and making healthy choices of food and let the weight just come off on it's own.

I am doing this because I got so wrapped up with my relationship with Alan... and some other stuff that I just started using it as excuses not to eat healthy or to exercise. What a week can make in attitude. :-)

Hannah's Birthday was a week ago today, so she is now 8 years old. She had a great weekend last weekend, and I took pictures of them on Halloween and last weekend since I missed their official school photos. I just can't believe they are growing up so fast.

OK... I better get back to work.. or pretend to work. I am actually making out a calendar for the next month for when I can hit the Y between the girls activities and day care.

I just want to say to everyone.. thank you so much for being here for me. Its been a tough year. I am thankful for each of you. And I am SOOO excited there is so much posititve energy going on here regarding our health!!!

OK.. I'll check in later!

11-11-2005, 02:53 PM
Hey Cherie, It is great to see your spirits are lifted. I have been thinking of you. Wow, a marathon? You rock!! I think it is a great way to get into better shape and do something you love at the same time. Good for you. Tell Hanna I said Happy Birthday! I hope she got everything she wanted and had a blast. And yes they do grow up so quick. Me and Jay were talking about that last night. I said we will be able to enjoy the grandkids (when we have them. )more because now we know how fast it flies by and not to waste it.

I went grocery shopping today and I bought LOTS of veggies and fruits and all healthy stuff. We have some great meals planned out for the week. My legs hurt so bad so I am not sure I can even do the treadmill today. I wished they would loosen up a bit.

11-11-2005, 03:27 PM
Hello, everyone. 4:30 a.m. here and I'm running late already. :stress: Glad to see everyone is sounding up and energetic. photogirl, hello. Good luck on the marathon. At first you scared me when I read your post and I thought it said you were running this week! But I read it again and saw you had decided this week! :lol3: mele, yeah, HK for the races. I think the shopping was good when it was still U.K-governed but since reverting to China, not so. I will probably have to work so it's not really a vacation. I just do it for the great hotel and a bit of a break. I love taking the ferry across the harbor, especially that time of year when all the buildings have Christmas lights in them. Beats Japan. angie, you always mention TV programs and I don't know any of them. I am culturally (U.S) ******ed! jbbm, Kempy, hello! Well, gotta run! Thought something was better than nothing. Take care all. Ciao!! :sunny:

11-11-2005, 04:00 PM
Hey girls I just ordered your Christmas gifts and I think they may get to you all early so I wanted to give you the heads up. I hope you all like them and I thought it would be good for us.

11-11-2005, 04:48 PM
Hi girls just popping on for a second. Both my kids woke up this morning with pinkeye, my ds couldn't hardly even open his eyes! So he stayed home from school and I called the doctor and got eye drops from the pharmacy. I have never had pinkeye before and it is bad. I can't hardly keep my dd from rubbing her eyes. I guess a girl in my son's class had it earlier in the week. Ugh!!!!! Oh well its life

Cherie, it is so nice to see you back. I love the idea you are not trying to lose weight or diet, just get healthy. The pounds will come off that way. I don't think you are crazy about the marathon, I think it is awesome. What a great goal.

Angie good job staying on track with pms. My pms comes next week but I think I am feeling the effects all ready....I better just keep my focus. I will keep my eye out.

Red you are up bright and early. Have a great day.

Hi Noelle, Kempy, Cal, Dips and Holly.

11-11-2005, 04:58 PM
Oh Julie I have had pink eye before and it sucks. Poor little babies. I hope the drops make it go away quickly for them. It feels like you have insulation on your eyeball and it just itches and burns. You have just begun the fun of childhood germs huh? My kids have had it a couple of times when they were small. I never caught it when they had it but I did get it when I was 21. I put tea bags on my eyes to help soothe them.

11-11-2005, 05:02 PM
Julie.. I'm sorry about your kiddos. How awful. I hope they fill better soon, and that you and your hubby stay healthy.

Red.. good to see you again. I haven't done the 21 day challenge in a while. I hope you have a nice trip to HK... my company is based out of Japan. Weathernews. Office is in Tokyo. One of these days, I would love to go over there to visit.

Angie.. just do some stretching. Before and after your treadmill work. It will really help. I can find some examples if you need them.

Well, one more hour and then I can leave this place for the weekend. I am ready. It's been a really long week, and I am hoping to have a fun weekend, and get in some good workouts.

Hi Noelle, Kempy, Dips, Cal and Holly..... It really feels good to be back :-)

11-12-2005, 12:46 AM
Hi people. Just jumping in here at work. jbbm, yes, early is me! Got to ride my horse, then in to work. Busy, busy. Cherie, you're sounding good. Glad to hear that. Weathernews..hmm..sounds familiar, we may use it here at the paper. I'll look into it. You really should come over sometime. I would show you around. Been here 23 years now! angie, you really mustn't get me anything!!! Dips, how's the cold? I hope you're feeling better. I tend to use the total immersion method. I try to come in contact with anything and everything. You know, if it doesn't kill you it'll make you stronger. I'm not dead yet. :lol3: Hello to all others! :sunny:

11-12-2005, 01:03 AM
Woo-Hoo girls :carrot: I just got back from my walk and I conquered that hill :goodvibes:. I'm resting my legs now and just relaxing, trying to decide what dinner will be. I did a little shopping today and found some cool deals on Xmas stuff like gift boxes (which my house never seems to have enough of) and gift tags. OOh, and I bought a new digital scale. The one I bought a couple of years back just up and disappeared--i was so pissed. Even when I thought I gave up and didn't diet I would still weigh myself twice a month or so just to keep me in check. This scale is nothing fancy and can keep the history of 2 people and will tell you how much you have lost or gained since the last time you stepped on....this could either be a major pain or a godsend.

Cherie, good for you! :strong: Little Rock as in AR? That's where I was born :p You're not crazy, you're WOMAN and you can do whatever you set your mind to. I love your frame of mind--take care of you and your girls and the rest is just icing on the cake.

Julie, pink eye is terrible, such a goopy mess when you have to put those drops or ointment in. Michael had it once and I caught it once while in Vegas, it was itchy and my eye turned all red. I had to throw away all my makeup and not wear contacts for over a week. :( I hope for their speedy recovery and for you or DH not to catch it :crossed:

Angie, you are so sweet and so prepared for Xmas already. I'm still trying to figure out what I can pick up for you guys. I always try to get something with a little island feel to it without resorting to food. I gotta go put my elf hat on.

 Hi Red, it's cool to see you pop on even with your busy schedule. :)

Kempy, how'd your MK open house do? I hope you got a lot of business.

Cal, any plans for the weekend?

Well it's raining now and I still have to go have dinner before it gets too late. Have a good night all, chat tomorrow!

11-12-2005, 09:25 AM
I am finally getting some rest. This is a long weekend for me as there was no school yesterday. One of the teachers said that we were given 2 Saturdays this week. :D I'm just working on organizing my lesson plans and then I'll be done with them for the rest of the quarter!! :carrot: It's great teaching the same subject and grade every year; I'm starting to be a little more organized by just reusing my plans and just modifying them for each new class.

Julie: I've never had pink eye and neither has Ashley (hope she doesn't get it :crossed: ) I hope your little ones get better soon.

Cherie: A marathon. That's great. I'm lucky if I find the time and energy to walk Tucker every evening. I try to walk for 30 minutes every night. Sometimes it's hard because I'm so wiped out by the time I get home.

Noelle: Congrats on conquering that hill. :bravo: We got a little rain yesterday, but mostly it was sunny and almost cold. The high got up to about 75 and actually I don't think it got that high.

Angie: I have something for you as well. I will be sending everything out in a couple of weeks. My legs feel great when I go walking, it's my hip that gives me problems. In fact, yesterday I had an MRI to try to find out what it going on. I love walking though. It's one of the things I really enjoy about going to Europe; it's so easy to walk and not even think about it being exercise.

Dips: Hope you're feeling better. Stay warm. We're thinking of you.

Red: Are you in Tokyo? Our school has a sister school in Japan and 8 7th graders from our district went last year for 2 weeks on an exchange program. We were really excited because 6 of those kids were from our school.

Kempy: Hope everything went well for your party. I love going to stuff like that; it's one of the few times I actually get to be around adults. Of course, my husband doesn't like it when I go because I always buy something.

Have a great weekend everyone.

11-12-2005, 09:50 AM
cal -- yeah, I'm in Tokyo. What school are your students at?

11-12-2005, 11:05 AM
Good Morning girls!!! Well , I picked Saturday as my official weigh in and I am down 5 pounds!!!! :cheer: YEAH!!! Gotta love the first week of weight is so encouraging.

I think I will do a Christmas challenge for myself of a 15 pound weightloss goal so this week gives me only 10 more to go. That will leave me a week for not so good loss for Thanksgiving without beating myself up about it. But I do plan to stay right on track for Thanksgiving since I have to work on that day I should be able to do it.

Noelle,AWESOME !!!!! You did great on your walk I am so impressed!!!! GREAT JOB!!! You would be so proud of me, I did all healthy gifts for us this year. After I had ordered I thought that pedometers would have been good so we could track our steps together but too late. Maybe next year I will do that.

Kempy, I hope your party turned out great! Have a fun weekend girl.

Cal, My kids have school this week and then ANOTHER week off!! They had a week off in October. Geesh, I want to be a kid again since they are never in school. How did the 75 feel on your skin? I bet it felt really cold considering your normal temp, huh?

Julie, How are the kiddos eyes this morning? I hope they are feeling better.

Red, How are you today?

Well, Girls have a GREAT WEEKEND!!

11-12-2005, 08:57 PM
Hey guys. All of you seem to be really getting back into the groove. Maybe i need to get my butt on here more often. I have been in a major funk since the storm and I can't seem to get out of it. Well, the party was bad as far as my people go. My sister had 12 and I had 3. I was so pissed at my friends. I didn't even care if they bought anything I just wanted them there to support me. Then yesterday at work I just couldn't even talk to them. I went in for my clients and left. They wanted me to go eat with them but I told them that I didn't feel very well. I think by Monday I will be a little better with the whole thing.

Julie I have never even been around someone with pink eye. I couldn't tell you anything to do about it but I hope they feel better. I used to write down what I eat and it really helped. Maybe I should get back to that.

Cal when do you guys get off for Thanksgiving? Kids down here have so much to make up they are thinking about only having Thursday and Friday off. Usually they have the whole week. I even think they are going to cute down on the Christmas holiday. Man, I am glad that I am not still in school.

Red I can't beleive you have been there for 23 years. What was it that made you head over there in the first place?

Noelle one of my cleints is heading over your way next weekend. I am so jealous. I was thinking I would put myself in her luggage. Do you think they would notice?

Anige you rock girl! I relaly need to get moving again and maybe chatting with you will help me do just that. I just feel BLAH!

Well, I am heading to my SIL's for some Mary Kay stuff in a few minutes so I will check back in tomorrow.

11-12-2005, 09:26 PM
I just wanted to post a little tonight. Ashley has a cold and has been wanting to be held all day. She doesn't have a fever; just wants Mommy.

Angie: Yeah, 75 is pretty cool for me, but comfortable. We have Thanksgiving Day off and the day after...that's when I enjoy going shopping. I don't need to, but I love the atmosphere and spending the time with my sisters and SIL.

Kempy: We've always got only the two days for Thanksgiving. My sister had a week last year, but the teachers voted for the two days so they can get out a little earlier in June.

Red: My school is Desert Star Elementary in Avondale School District. I still can't remember the name of the city where our sister school is located. I'll probably have to wait and ask someone on Monday.

Hello to everyone else.

11-12-2005, 10:28 PM
Just got back from grocery shopping. Looks like things are really poppin' in here!

Angie- I am so proud of you :cheer: You are so determined. Keep it up. You have everyone else in here motivated!!!

Cherie- Speaking of motivation! A marathon?!! You go girl. I fugured if I add all the miles I ran in the army I have quite a few marathons under my belt  so I'm good. But what an accomplishment that would be. I wish I could be at the finish line to cheer for you. Hmmm there's an idea...

J- Your poor babies. I never had pink eye, but from what I heard, it's definately no picnic. Hope they feel better soon

Red- What's going on. I can relate to your feeling out of touch with american culture. My entire tour was overseas. Don't worry though, we'll keep you hip ;)

Noelle- Isn't it sooo tempting to eat things you shouldn't when out with your buddies. I know the feeling. You'll do fine on your weigh in. Don't sweat it. Remember, you did the hill, Girl!! :carrot: I don't know about slimming down over the holidays. I actually plan to gorge on mom's food. After that though it's back to business.

CAl- I see your girl caught the bug too. It's that time of year. Pumpe her full of robitussin and she should be fine :)

Kempy- I know the hurricane threw you off your routine, totally understandable. Too bad about the mary kay thing. Don't let it stress ya too bad.

I'm feeling a lot better today. My cold is clearing up quite well. I'm about to cook dinner but there is something in my stove that's burning, maybe greece but I don't know. I gotta take care of it. TTYL

11-13-2005, 02:44 AM
Hey girls, i took Michael to see the movie Zathura (the outer-space version of Jumanji) and it was pretty entertaining and fast-paced. There's an astronaut character that's pretty good looking in the nerdy kind of way (like Jimmy Fallon on SNL?)... but anyway, I had an OP day. Get this, NO POPCORN touched my lips at the movie. I had a diet soda and that was it. I came home and ate my dinner just like that. :cb: According to my new scale I am down about 2 lbs since Tuesday so I am going to keep on working it until my next official weigh-in, then I will change my ticker.

Angie, I love that holiday ticker you have. :cp: 5 lbs girl, that's awesome!!! I like your goal of 15 lbs by Xmas too, that sounds totally doable. You've got me all fired up and I am already planning on conquering my nemesis "the hill" and a little extra to come up with 5 1/4 miles tomorrow morning--that was my usual Sunday morning walk. I hope the dogs can handle it--and I don't mean my feet . Lucky is about 6-1/2 months now and I've got to get her trained good to walk on a leash--the last 2 out of 3 times I took her out she tried to cross in front of me and I stepped on her poor little feet. That must've felt like a freakin' steam roller to her :(

Kempy, maybe you can smuggle yourself in a duffel bag? i would love for you or any of you gals to visit. I would definitely take you guys on an island tour, complete with a stop at the Polynesian Cultural center where we can scope out all those insanely handsome New Zealand Maori boys :T

Dips, hope your dinner didn't get overdone. :flame: :)

I gotta run and make sure my boy is done with his shower. Have a good evening and hi to all!

11-13-2005, 08:39 AM
Good Morning. It is 7:20am in the big apple and 50 degrees outside. Our high will be 64 degrees. Not bad for mid Nov. But I know the frost bite is right around the corner. (Booo:( ) I cleaned the greasy gook out of my stove. I wonder how it got there :?: My dinner of steaks and broccoli came out quite nice, though. I didn't eat too ,uch of it though. I don't know what's wrong with me, my appetite is not quite where it was before. These days I feel like I'm making mysels eat. (where was this problem when I needed it  ) I guess I'm still a little sick because I start out feeling hungry then after a few bites, I lose my desire to eat. It's weird. Anyways. I made some eggs this morning and finished the rest of my steak and had a glass of veggie juice (eww). I have the same feeling now. Not one of satisfaction but like I shouldn't have eaten in the first place. Hope this clears up by Thanksgiving. Anyways enough :blah:

Noelle-Way tro go on the weight loss! I know you're gonna do well on your official weigh in. I'm hovering between 130 and 132 these days depending on how much tea I consume. I have to finish the film on my camera so I can post by B-Day pics. I'm working on it. BTW good job on your movie cuisine! Everyone seems to be doing so well this month! All I've been seeing on the news is the footage from the Harry Potter premiere in manhattan (yuck) Now they are saying they begin shooting the next movie in Feb. I'm like, isn't Harry, like 20 years old by now  "Harry Potter goes to college"

I do NOT feel like going to work today but the bills aren't going to pay themselves, right?

11-13-2005, 10:19 AM
Good Morning girls!! I made a pot roast with potatoes and carrots for my supper yesterday. I invited my sister and neice over so that way I wouldnt have a bunch of roast left over to snack on. I also made a cake mix minus the oil and egg yolk and put a chocolate glaze on it so that way I can have a snack once a week when I am good so I dont feel too deprived. It was AWESOME!!!! I even got in 30 minutes on my treadmill before I headed out for the day. I think I am getting it back. YEAH!

So that makes 2 days in a row that I usually eat a spicy chicken meal at Wendy's and I skipped them both times for my turkey sandwich. And it wasnt as hard as it seems when I had tried every other time to get on track. My whole family is trying to eat healthier so that is nice. Jay has done awesome. The twins have a little bit of chub that they have been complaining about so they are trying to move more and eat healthier too. I would be so happy if I could help them slim down and be happier.(they have been complaining about it not me by the way)

So my plan for today is cereal for breakfast, turkey and wow chips for lunch and crispy haddock with (maybe) baked fries and a huge salad for supper.Plus 30 minutes on my treadmill with my new shoes.

I was reading in my First magazine about a woman who had c-sections so her stomache was stretched out like mine is when I lose all my weight. She had a tummy tuck and her stomach looks so good now. Me and jay were talking ablout it and I think if I get down to 130 pounds again I am going to suck it up and immediately have it done for myself so I can feel as proud of my accomplishment as I should. Every other time I decided to wait a while but the extra skin really screws with my self confidence because you can see the pouch of skin in my jeans. So that is my longtime goal.

Kempy, I am sorry you didnt get many friends to come to your party. You know I would have been there for you in a heartbeat. It sucks that we dont all live near each other. I know we would be the best of friends and there for each other. I had never thought about all the school the kids down there would have to make up. Poor kids, it isnt like they missed it to have fun or anything. Are they going to have to go into their summer break?

How does Joe handle the poisonous snakes and alligators when he goes duck hunting? He must have had alot of run ins with the water moccasins you were telling me about doesnt he? What about the dogs when they swim out to get the duck? Just little things that pop into my mind.

Cal, I hope Ashley is feeling better today. I know everyone up here has been sick. Me and Jay say every year that we are not going out the day after Thanksgiving and every year they have some awesome price on something and we go out.

Noelle, I want to see that movie too. I love Jumanji. The guy is the actor from Punked.Great Job resisting the popcorn. You are doing so well. Congrats on your loss. You can walk way further than I can right now. Keep it up girl!! You have to post some pics of Lucky sometime...He must be getting big by now. We had a doberman when we first got married that would circle us while we walked her. We couldnt walk her at all because by the time we got in front of our neighbors house she would be wrapped around me five times. She had a circle thing because she would do it to our feet when we were sitting in a chair too.

Dips, Wow it is still pretty nice down your way. Our highs have been 35-40 now. The snow we got the other day never did melt off my just froze so the animals are pissed when they have to run across it to come inside. I hope you feel better for work today.

Well, I gotta go walkin. Talk to ya later.

11-13-2005, 12:57 PM
Just a quick post today. I need to clean this mess of a house. I really don't have much going on but I wanted to say hi.

Angie the kids will have to make it up at the end of the year. I am sure they will hate it. They really don't have snakes out right now so he doesn't have to worry about it.

Sorry this is so short but I have to get things moving today.

11-13-2005, 04:09 PM
Hi girls...just loafing around on a Sunday morning. Rick had to go to Kauai for the weekend for an aunt's funeral. The airfare alone cost $233 not to mention the car rental and a cheap hotel so I didn't want to tag along. I did my walk this morning with the dogs. We didn't do the 5.25 but we did do the 3.5 since I had to haul Michael out of bed and take him with us. He complained first that he was thirsty, then hungry, then tired, then.... Next week Sunday I am going by myself without the dog, without my sis, without the whining boy  Then I will be able to go wherever I want to for as long as I want. I'm gonna try and go out again in the evening though so I may just get in 6 miles today :crossed:

Kempy, when you're done cleaning house can you come over and do mine? ;)

Dips, we've got 77 right now, expecting to get up to about 83 :sunny: I'd send you some warmth knowing how you don't like the cold... I would be one of the legions of HP fans lining up to see the film in Manhattan

Angie, I read in a celeb magazine that they (celebrities) have had their c-sections and the tummy tuck done at the same time so their post-partum recover does not include a loose, saggy stomach--isn't that sick? Aaah to have drs that would do such things and to have the disposable income to do it! That's Hollywood for ya.

Hey Angie, what was your recipe for the cake mix again? Were you the one using a can of diet soda in place of the egg, oil and water? I got a recipe from WW using 1 15 oz pure canned pumpkin and 2 tsp cinnamon or pumpkin pie spice with 1 box white cake mix. It comes out kinda like a bread instead of a cake but it tastes really good.

I gotta run for now, washing machine is calling.

Have a great day all.

11-13-2005, 05:14 PM
Noelle, that is funny that you said that about the celebrities because I know that has to be what Britney Spears did. Her stomach is so flat right now and she had a scheduled C-section. I was so surprised when her first pictures came out. Must be nice.

I just take a plain old cake mix and add the water plus maybe 1/4 cup to make up for no oil and all the egg whites but no yolks. It comes out just as good then I take powdered sugar and cocoa powder and add water until it is just wet. then I microwave it until it is warm and drizzle it on the cake. I will definately have to try that recipe. YUM> I love anything pumpkin.

Kempy, Did you get your house cleaned?

Well, Gotta go cook supper.

11-13-2005, 06:35 PM
Hey all. How's it going? Monday morning here and I had a much-needed sleep-in. already 7 a.m. here, about three hours later than I usually get up! But I did go to sleep about three hours later than usual. Yawn. Long day yesterday. Took the bullet train down to Kyoto for another big race. It went well, but I was hung over from drinking the night before with the coworker sprung from lockup. Poor kid. Sounds like a frame job if I ever saw one. Yaks (mafia) and cops are a bad mix here.

It was the second time in three weeks I've been down to Kyoto and I hadn't been there in ages. Feels like something is starting to move all over! Like some sort of cosmic knot is loosening. Have any of you ever noticed how when you travel, things start to happen, like meeting interesting ;) people and striking coincidences popping up? Well, not that I met anybody, but yesterday when I was down at the track in the press room writing my story, my cell phone rings and it's a friend in Hong Kong. I'd been trying to reach him to see if we could hook up when I go there next month as we usually do. He and his wife are there (they're Japanese). He's an old rocker and I love meeting him. But I hadn't heard from him and figured he was working over on mainland China now that Disneyland is built (that's what he's been doing for the past several years.) And then I hear from him! It's so neat with mobile phones. Linking the world. I wish I could get one where you can use it overseas but they're expensive I think. Ok, ok, shut me up! :blah: And the caffeine hasn't even kicked in yet. I think it was the sleep!

Well, back into the office today. I think I spend most of my life on trains...I have been doing well for the past three days with my new 21-day challenge (any of you interested it''d be great to see you over on that thread too! ) I'd been doing super-hard challenges like no-sugar, no white flour, but now I'm trying a "live like you're already there" challenge and just allowing myself anything as long as I stay within bounds, like what I would have to do if I were lean and healthy already! Healthy part is there, just not the lean part. ;) I'm doing well so far and feeling hopeful. My weight tracker has budged for the first time in ages. :cb: Wish me luck that I can keep it up. I love hearing that some of you are feeling revved as well! :sunny:

There are so many posts! :) And I just realized that I missed a whole bunch of them...hmm. Well, trying to catch up here a bit. :dancer:

And now I see I have no time to write any more. Just let me say I will reread all the posts and get caught up later. You mostly sound great. Angie, way to go on the weight loss! You are rocking, kid! Kempyd, just blow off those workmates of yours. Don't get down about some party. And, I don't know how I ever stayed 23 years. I guess one thing just led to another. I was always a wanderer at heart and a loner, very independent and looking for the excitement (to me) of being in unknown and strange surroundings. I thrive off that! I was in India and planning to go back and didn't get the visa immediately so was ticked and blew them off and just came here since I already had the plane ticket as far as Bangkok. I never plan too much and I kind of go with the flow and whatever opportunities seem to be coming my way. Kind of like reading the moment and going with it. mele, how're you doing? Still feeling pysched! I hope so! I love reading your posts. I feel a lot of optimism there! :goodvibes Dips, "not feeling like it" is the story of my life when it comes to the daily routines. I have learned to just push on with so many things and am usually very, very glad I did. Not stopping to think how I feel about something is the key. Of course, this can lead toward putting up with crap for the wrong reasons. Assessment away from the action is key. NOT when it's say, 4 a.m. and you stop to consider if you really want to get out of bed! :lol3: cal, ok, let me know when you know the school. Well, must run now. photogirl, jbbm, hope to hear from you soon! Take care all!

11-13-2005, 09:53 PM
Here are some new pics of the puppies. I hope they come through ok.

Red what kind of challenge are you talking about? I might just jump on that one. I don't know if you remember but I used to be on the body building site too. (just a little info from me)

11-13-2005, 10:06 PM
Kemp -- It's the 21-day challenge. Here's the link to the last page.
I start the threads so that's where I spend most of my time. It'd be great if you could join up. Read the first page where the challenge is explained and hop on! I forgot your were on the "ladies that lift" thread. I was thinking it was here or the old 21-day challenge thread that Amarantha had started. Ok, now I'm clear. :) I don't post over there anymore, just the challenge thread and here. What are these adorable pups? Did you breed your dogs?

11-13-2005, 11:12 PM
Kempy, I love those little cream puff pups! I like how you color-coded them by their collars too :).

11-14-2005, 08:31 AM
Oh my Gosh!! Look at the cute little puppies :D.

Kempy they are so adorable, and growing fast!

Hey Angie- Not only do those celebs get tummy tucks, they also have live-in trainers and cooks to make sure they exercise and eat right. You don't think they actually have discipline do ya?! In fact, Jassica Simpson mved in with her trainer for a few months to get in shape for Dukes of Hazzard. Can you imagine how much that dude got paid??? Too bad us po' folk gotta do this ourselves :(

Red- The challenges sound great! These days though, it's a challenge for me to stick to my daily routine. I'm on this 130 lbs [59.1 kg] plateau going on 3 weeks now. It's self induced because I don't work out like I used to. I'm active but I haven't done my push-ups since the 1st. :yikes: but that's because I got sick. Anyways, I got a lot of work to do on getting to goal finally.

Hey Noelle, what's poppin'?

11-14-2005, 09:15 AM
Good Morning!!Can you guys believe that Thanksgiving is almost here? :yikes: Time is flyin!!

Kempy, Oh my gosh, those are the cutest little chubby pups!!! I bet you are going to miss them when they go to their new homes. I cant believe they have gotten so big so fast.

Not much happening here today. My plan is cereal for breakfast, turkey and wow chips for lunch, terriyaki chicken , baked potato and brocoli~or~cauliflower for supper and of course my 30 minutes on the treadmill.

11-14-2005, 11:56 AM
I just got done with the treadmill and my arm weights. This is getting easier now. I made it through my first weekend and that is a HUGE step for me. Jay says he feels great this morning...not all bloated and sluggish.

He is so sweet, He went to the store and looked for some sugar free butterscotch disks for me so I could suck on them at night when I am craving something sweet. Gotta Love Him.

11-14-2005, 12:10 PM
Good Morning everyone! I forget to post on the weekend, and it goes crazy here! :-)

Angie.. WTG on all of your sucess! You are doing so great.... And I have two friends that got tummy tucks and they both love them. You really should do that as soon as you hit your goal. You will be so happy.

Kempy.. those puppies are just adorable. Had you not sold them all, I would have probably have come down and bought one! I've been thinking about getting a dog, and I have narrowed it down to either a Lab or a Golden Retriever. They are just beautiful!

Noelle, I haven't seen that movie yet, but I am sure I will once it comes out on DVD. I took the girls and the neighbor kids to the movies Saturday night, it was the dollar movie, March of the Penquins. They had fun. WTG on your walk yesterday! 6 miles is awesome!

Cal.. I hope Ashley starts to feel better. My girls are both suffering from some allergies, and it's no fun.

Dips.... I bet with all your military training, you have done quite a few marathons! :-) This is just going to be a half marathon, so not quite as impressive, however, for me it will be a huge goal.

Red.. I love the technology of our age.. the cell phones, the internet, gps, etc... it's wonderful.

Julie.. I hope you are doing fine!

OK.. I need to get busy working here. I've got another busy week. Girls Scouts and gymnastics and the Y.... I've promised I would take the girls so they can go swimming again. We went yesterday and they had a ball.

Talk to you all later!

11-14-2005, 12:32 PM
Hi girls

Angie congratulations on making it through the weekend. You are doing great. And how sweet of Jay. It is nice that is he so supportive. You are getting me motivated to get my treadmill back out. Thanks for the good vibes.

Kempy the puppies are just adorable. We are going to get a yellow lab. Our last one was a black and we would like to get a yellow because of the shedding. I can't wait to get one. I wish you had one left! Did you plan out your menu yet for Thanksgiving?

Noelle that pumpkin cake sounds great. I may make, I have all the stuff for it. Thanks!

Cal hope Ashley is feeling better. My kids have colds too. But their pink is clearing up nice.

Cherie don't work to this week. Glad the girls are liking swimming. That is a great idea with winter coming.

Dips I did not know Jessica Simpson moved in with her trainer! What a life!

Hi Red.

I got a little sidetracked with eating this weekend. Dh wanted pecan pie last night but I had a smaller portion but back on the wagon. I want to find some time to excercise today. Have a great day everyone. Check back soon!

11-14-2005, 12:59 PM
Cherie, I am glad to hear that your friends like their tummy tucks. Do you know how bad it hurts? I am so scared of blood and needles so it would be a big step for me but I really think it would help me keep my confidence up. When I lose weight I have so much extra skin left over that I cant really wear any of the cute clothes thin people wear. I cant wear the hip huggers or the sweat pants that look cute and it makes me feel bad and depressed. So hopefully I can swing the money for it. Jay says that we will find a way to afford it if it is what I really want. Geesh I love him so much!!!

I cant believe that I have turned into one of the old people telling my kids how easy they have it because back when I was little..........

Julie, I am glad your kiddos are doing better. I am going to make the pumpkin cake sometime too. YUM!!

Dips, I didnt know that about Jessica Simpson either. Oh to be Loaded!!!!

11-14-2005, 05:59 PM
Hey girls, I'm having an early lunch right now: turkey sandwich on whole wheat bread, mustard and loads of alfalfa sprouts. I ate breakfast @ 7:20 and forgot my darn fruits at home and I'm hungry NOW! :hun: I will have 2 servings of fruit as a snack later on I guess, maybe w/a yogurt...decisions decisions  So has everybody got a game plan for Thanksgiving? I am so motivated right now that I will not overindulge and feel like a stuffed pig. I am going to talk a longggggggggg walk in the morning to get my metabolism revved up, make some low-fat, low cal dessert that I can enjoy and just eat in moderation.

 check out this new smiley, isn't that great?

Angie, Jay is such a sweetie (something I'm sure you've heard me say at least a 100 times)....what I want to know is, how'd you get him trained so good? Rick is on a different planet even when we're dieting together  He gets into this fanatic zone which is WAAAAY too much for me so I just do my own thing and he does his. When I get to goal (I'm not exactly sure what that goal will be though) I would gladly suffer the pain of a tummy tuck--as long as I could have liposuction with it  My thighs and butt will need some major reshaping.

Julie, you are so good even when your DH wants desserts. The main thing is portion control--I am slow, but I am learning  Yeah I love the vibes on this thread energizing. Any idea when you're getting your new pup, maybe in the spring? Glad your kiddos are getting better.

Cherie, are you training with someone for the half marathon or just doing your own plan? I know you will do well since you've got your mind set to it. Go Cherie! :carrot:

Kempy, I forwarded the pics of your little babies to my sisters and of course my sis wanted one. She has a male yellow lab named Rusty. I think he's around 8 years old and he has a lot of wrinkles around his neck, makes me think he's part sharpei, but he's not. He's a big old softie. How's Rhea around the pups?

Dips, nothing much popping around here except my joints. Old age does that to ya

Hi to Cal, Red, Hollly and all...gotta get back to work. Have a good one.

11-14-2005, 06:44 PM
They are pretty cute, huh? I could just eat them all up. I have to go feed them in a sec but I wanted to post real quick. Rhea loves them she is trying to play with them but they really don't know what to think about her. She is still kind of large to them right now. I am falling in love with each of them. They are starting to get their personalities now and they all act different.

Angie you have inspired me to stay OP today. So far so good. They even had TacoBell at work today and I went and got a chef salad instead. Yeah me.

Noelle I wish I could get a walk in next Thursday. I will have everyone over so I can't do that so I will just have to watch out for the huge portions. We got the menu done thanks to my cousin. She usually has it at her house so she knows what everyone usually brings.

Cherie I meant to tell you that I think it is wonderful that you are running a marathon. That is one thing I wish I could do. My shin splints are so bad I have trouble walking in the neighborhood sometimes.

Red does the challenge include woking out with weight? Now that I am not working at the gym I have no place to do that. The only thing I have is TaeBo.

Cal how is Ashley feeling?

The puupies are summoning me so I need to go feed them their dinner. FUN FUN!!!!!

11-14-2005, 06:58 PM
Hi girls just popping in before supper. I have chili in the crockpot again with cornbread muffins. It seems I always make that on Mondays. Today I went to the mall because ds needed a heavier winter coat. I got one 50% off. I was so excited because they are so expensive. It was eighty dollars and I got it for forty! They also had clearance on some cute shoes but they are always out of my size sevens first, LOL.

Noelle I think we will get one in Spring after all the snow is done. But if we find the right one maybe sooner :). I never thought of adding alfa sprouts to a sandwich, sounds good! I am trying to eat two fruits a day too.

Angie I remember on TLC they had a makeover/surgery show on and they often showed tummy tuck patients. I remember some in alot of pain and some not too bad. Go for it would be a great present to yourself.

Well gotta finish dinner and go get dd at dance. I don't know if I will be able to make it here during the day tomorrow I am helping out at ds's school.
Hi to everyone else!

11-14-2005, 07:29 PM
 I just noticed that i said "talk" a long walk, instead of "take" a long walk. Really though, I am going to TAKE a long walk instead of just talk about it  . We usually get the turkey dressed the night before and leave it in the fridge until morning. I think I'll head out right around 7 a.m. and be back in plenty of time for eatin'

Kempy, is this your first year hosting thanksgiving? I would send most of the l.o.'s home with the guests  As for shin splints, I used to have them all the time until I read that if you walk regularly, you need to change your shoes about every 3 months. The mileage racks up pretty fast. I try to buy 2 pairs of the same shoes and just alternate them...sounds good but doesn't always work that way.

Julie, how are you liking being the classroom mom? I think you're giving your kids a gift and one they'll remember for a long time. Michael is always pleading for me or Rick to chaperone a field trip. I dont know if I can handle being around that many kids at a time :yikes: Hey, I was at Children's Place this weekend and they had loads of winter coats on sale there as well. There were plenty on the rack too--who needs a coat like that here unless you're traveling somewhere cold? Glad you got a great bargain though!

11-15-2005, 09:36 AM
Good Morning! I had my mom give me back my old recumbent bike because it is so much smaller and more comfy than the new expensive one I bought last year and I rode it for about 20 minutes last night so that helped to boost my exercise up for yesterday. I have to say that I am not snacking after supper at all and it seems to be pretty easy right now. I was getting ready for bed last night and it dawned on me that I didnt think about food once after supper.

Noelle, I dont intend to overeat for Thanklsgiving. It will just be us and the kids and I have to work that day anyway. I am making pumpkin parfaits and a boxed lowfat cheesecake for Jay for desserts so that would be my only problem but I have myself on a tummytuck goal so I am hoping I do good. Jay is so laidback that it just comes naturally. He doesnt get into eating right it just more or less comes to him when I start to eat right. The first time I lost all my weight he lost about 15 pounds and he wasnt even dieting....he walked with me everyday and he still ate his meal at Wendys every weekend. I coulda killed him!

Kempy, CONGRATS on staying OP yesterday. You Rock!! I actually had a dream that I came down to your house to see the pups. weird huh?

Julie, I had to go buy a bigger coat this year and I was surprised when I went hunting...I got mine for 40% off. I couldnt pass that up. Have fun at your sons school today. That is so cool that you do that.

Well, I have to go walking. I will check back later.

11-15-2005, 10:39 AM
I just did 30 minutes on my treadmill. I think my plan for today will be: Breakfast: cereal and skim milk- Lunch: turkey sandwich with wow chips- Supper: Fat free hot dog, baked fries and a big salad. :T :tread:

I think I will go get some Christmas decorations out. I may put my lighted snowflakes up today in the windows. The tree farms dont open until the day after Thanksgiving so I have to wait until them to get a tree anyways. I dont think it will stay standing very long with these two kittens though. They are the biggest terrors I have ever seen!!! They have ripped my wallpaper borders in the kitchen and utility room already, it is a good thing for them that I am planning on repainting those two rooms this winter. I was going to make them indoor cats but......

11-15-2005, 02:27 PM
Good morning girls, just popping in to say Hi  I have my first weigh in at 12 noon today so wish me luck :crossed: :sumo: I think I'm going to change my WI days to Saturdays starting next week because this mid-day thing just messes up my schedule--once I leave the office I don't want to come back.

Anywho, gotta get to work.

PS. Food Find: Galeos Miso salad dressing and marinade---LOW fat, LOW cal. See if your local grocery store carries it. Yum!! I serving is 1 tbsp and between 14-20 cals for the different varieties (there are 3). Check them out here: (if you click on the name under the bottle it'll show you the nutritional info). I love this stuff and it's been in my fridge for a while, but I only actually tried it yesterday :T

11-15-2005, 04:56 PM

I bet you will do great!!

11-15-2005, 07:21 PM
Good going last night Angie. I had some friens over looking at Mary Kay and I had the same type of night. I was starving when I got in bed though. :smug:

Noelle I hope you weigh in was good. I usually don't get on the scale in the afternoon. I know that I weigh less in the morning. Do you think they would frown on you weighin in the nude? :D That is what I have to do. If I don't I swear I am 2 lbs heavier and I just can't have that. This is the first time they have all been to our house. It shoudl be ok though. We really don't have to much food left over usually. The family has learned not to make to much.

I found out today that we are having the salon Christmas party at our house so I am going to have to ramp up the decorations. I think I might hit Hobby Lobby and Big lots in the morning to see what I can find. It is actually going to be cold here tomorrow. The high is supposed to be 58. THAT IS SOOOOOO COOL. I love it!!

I need to get dressed. Joe and I are going out to eat. I will chat in the morning.

11-15-2005, 08:03 PM
Hi people. How are things? I had a good day exercising yesterday. Got to the gym for the first time in a long time and jogged out 5K. Will try and go again today. I wish I could jog a lot, especially when I am inspired to, but I know that my feet and/or knees will start to hurt if I do too much too soon. I don't know if I will ever be able to build up like they say you can. Perhaps if my weight comes down. Then again, I'm not all THAT heavy. Don't know. I like to jog but just never seem to be able to take the wear and tear. :(

Kempy -- Check out the first page of the challenge thread and you can see how it works. YOU decide what your challenge is so you can make it anything your want to, just as long as it's something you can do EVERY day for 21 days. What is Mary Kay, btw? Hope you had a good dinner out!

mele -- Your post inspired me to do a search for low-cal dressing recipes and I came up with some. Dressing is everything for me with a salad and yet the lowcal ones I can buy here are not that good, loaded with sugar or too expensive (imported brands). Speaking of salads, though it's cold now, I still may make myself one. I do this thing where I put on the veggies in a bowl and top it with kidney beans and cheese and then add warm brown rice on top. It's delicious! I make them at work and other people always want to make one for them, which I do when I'm feeling magnanimous! :sunny: I hope your weigh-in made you feel good! :goodscale

angie -- Good work on the treadmill. Are you walking or can you jog on it? I know a lot of the home treadmills are not really conducive to jogging. Btw, what are "wow chips?" Speaking of cats and Christmas trees, we always had them climbing them and often knocking them down. My father would put guide wires at the top of the tree and connected over to where the ceiling meets the wall (forget what that's called), fastened with a small nail. It stabilizes the tree. Give it a try and all you'll have to worry about with the cats are fallen ornaments. Another btw, what is the the "third time's a charm?" under your name mean? I take it this is about your weight-loss goal, no?

jbbm -- How are you? You are making my mouth water...crockpot chile and cornbread! Oh, yum!

Photo -- How is the marathon training coming along? You haven't mentioned it. Are you following a plan? Where and when is the race again? Do you ever get problems with your knees or feet like I do? I would love to be able to run in a marathon. Some years ago I was following a training program and it was coming along but then I must have gotten a stress fracture in my foot because I could not walk without a lot of pain for some weeks. I was doing 2-hour jogs though, very slow and on the treadmill and the pain started when I went back to the States and was jogging outside, where I think I was going faster than usual. Be careful with your training! :goodvibes

Dips -- How about that senior-citizen-sized font? Was this for my benefit? I may be the oldest person on here, no? Yes, I agree with the celebs and their trainers. They have zilcho anything for the most part, including talent! We poor folks are all the stronger, though, right! Wow, how great that you're down to 130. Do you really want to weigh less? I don't know what it would be like to weigh so little. The last time I was there I had lost all my muscle except for that to be had from doing a lot of jogging and cycling. I was smoking a ton and had lost it quickly. I thought I still looked fat though, so I guess, if you are short, and I think you are, you could want to weigh less. I think one problem too is that whenever I lose weight, I get discouraged at the loose skin and don't wait for it to tighten up before I go eating my way back up again. Do you think the skin is like calling out for something to fill it back up again? :lol3: Are you feeling better now and over your cold? I hope so! :spin:

11-15-2005, 08:07 PM
Hey girls, just got back from my WW meeting and with my first week back "on plan" I have lost 6.6 lbs baby!!! That's almost as much as Michael weighed when he was born  I love this Flex Plan because if you follow it, it works like a charm. Why oh why oh why oh why oh why oh why oh why oh why did I weight so long to go back? Anyway, the main thing is I did go back and I have you guys to thank for the motivation and good vibes--so thank you, thank you very much (as said in my best Elvis voice). And yes Angie, I DO love the 1st week of weight loss

I am also very happy because I got 2 things I won off of ebay delivered today--2 leather jackets. Why 2? Because the first one I bid on was a cheapie ($30?) and I wasn't sure about the sizing....then the 2nd one I bid on I knew would fit because I have other stuff in that brand. The 2nd jacket is just a beautiful soft leather, I love it! It is used but it only cost me $51, whereas brand new it would run in the $200 range. I needed a new one for my Vegas trip because I outgrew my old one :ink:. I should be able to fit back into the old one after a few months on WW  So this girl is just on cloud nine right now.

Angie, did ya hang your decorations yet? I had a cat that would run up the middle of the tree and just rip down the light strings in the process. Needless to say that cat got thrown outside real quick

Kempy, hmmm, Hobby Lobby and Big Lots--2 stores we do not have here :( . You guys are lucky to be that cool. I am sitting here with the fan blowing and it's still hot. This darn humidity is killing me! Yeah, I hear you on wanting to weigh-in naked  It's scary to weigh in in front of people--but maybe it would be even scarier for them if I did it naked :s:

Hey Red, did that Japan earthquake affect where you guys are at all? I hope you're all well and good.

How's everyone else out there doing? Come on, jump in and join the party! :hat:

11-15-2005, 08:11 PM
Hey Red, The third time s acharm means that This will be the third time I have had to lose all this weight and hopefully it is for good this time. I figure it took me quitting smoking 3 times for it to stick so maybe with the weight too......

WOW chips are a fat free chip they make over here. They taste just like regular potato chips.

I have to do a search for lowcal dressings too. I am gatting into salads lately but I dont really like the storebought ones.

Kempy, You are going to be a busy girl this month with all the parties. I hope you have fun.

11-15-2005, 08:17 PM
Hey Noelle, YOU ARE AWESOME!!!! :carrot: :strong: :bravo: :cb: :cp: :dancer: :encore: :cheer: :turkey:
I dont know what the turkey has to do with this but isnt he cute?

You are doing so well, I think we are gonna do okay.

The salad dressings look good, I dont think I have ever seen those and believe me I stared at the dressing aisle for about an hour last week.

Way to go on the coats. I have one I bought the last time I lost this weight and I cant wait to get back into it.

11-15-2005, 09:54 PM
NOELLE NOELLE NOELLE!! You go girl! I am soooo proud of you. You and Angie are kicking butt! What a way to start the weigjt loss kick. I'm glad that you found a plan that is so easy for you. Keep it up and yoiu will be stylin for the new year!! I'm so happy for you! :carrot: Keep it up girl!!

Angie The third time will be the charm. One thing I hated this time around waqs losing weight I had already lost before. I vowed never to do that again. But you are definately on the right track. Keep it up, girl. Healthy is the way to be.

Red- You are such a funny girl  No I did not enlarge it for your benefit. I just wanted to see how the big font looked that's all. But it was easier to read right? :D Anyways, 130 on someone like 5'5" would be fabulous. But I stand 4'11" tall (or short if you prefer) So 130 is a little thick. It's funny because I have all these people around me telling me I don't need to lose anymore weight and when I post my pics you'll probably say the same but most healthy girls my height weigh at least 15 pounds less than I do. Becasue of my build ( I am a muscular girl) I know that I probably won't fall below 120 but we'll see. I jus wanna look god in a bathing suit :D By the way, I'm feeling much better these days. Thanks for asking :)

J- You stay eating chilly!! Are you originally from Texas??

Hey Kempy- Hope you find the time to pop in soon.

Okay girls, I got some work to do. TTYL

11-16-2005, 02:33 AM
:encore: Thank you thank you  I am still floating on a cloud. The only thing i am pissed about today is that our downstairs bathroom/shower has been out of commission since last Thursday night. Rick flew out to Kauai over the weekend so he wasn't able to fix it. He got home Monday afternoon and figured out what the problem was but needed to get a part to fix it. Well, he told me he was at the supply house at 4 pm today and I have yet to see him 4-1/2 hrs later. I just know he's out in some bar somewhere. It is such a damned inconvenience to have to trek my butt upstairs in the middle of the night or wee hours of the morning to use the bathroom! OK end rant about that. I should look on the bright side and see it as a little bit more exercise with the stair climbing

Angie, it's my 3rd time trying to re-lose weight as well. Maybe we'll make it a permanent loss this time around? :crossed: I think if I stick with this WW plan it'll enforce the healthy eating habits which will become 2nd nature. We're such experts at losing eh, it's the maintaining that's hard. Love the turkey smiley, he's cute.

Dips, I didn't realize you were that petite. You make me and Angie feel tall  I think she's 5'2" and I'm 5'3"... I'd rather be muscular and a little heavy than a little heavy with flab

Darn, the washing machine is calling again--it's just a never-ending cycle isn't it? Well, have a good night. Chat tomorrow.

11-16-2005, 09:21 AM
Happy hump day!!

Noelle- What an inconvenience! having to go out of your way just to use the bathroom? That sucks. True enough it burns extra calories but sheesh, still annoying :dizzy: So have you set a weekly goal for yourself or you just going with the flow of the WW program?

I feel a lot better so I'm going to go back to doing my daily push-ups. It's been about 2 weeks :o . I also want to see if I can fit pilates back into my daily routine. My lack of activity is helping me maintain rather than lose. I got on and off the scale 3 times this morning nad I'm still a solid 130. That scale won't budge! I had to have someone else get on it to make sure the 130 wasn't an automatic response  Darn scale makes me sick!

Hope everyone is well this morning. TTYL

Hey Girls! I missed yesterday! What was I thinking? I just never made it here.

This is my first official week of training for the half marathon, and so far it's going well. Red.. I am on a training schedule. I am mixing my runs with crosstraining (ellipitcal or bike) and strength training. I do one long run a week, and just try to add to the mileage every week. I have one day of rest. But, as I said, this is only the first official week. Last week was just a warm up. :D I have 16 weeks to train, and the race is on March 5th!

Last night, I went to the Y and ran on the indoor track, 4 miles. It was much harder to do than running on my treadmill. I tend to make myself run faster at a natural pace on the track than what I do on the treadmill. Anyway... it was a good workout. Today, I have my easy day, running 3 miles on my treadmill at home.

Angie... 3 time is a charm for all of us!!! You are doing so great!!! I love hearing all of your positive energy now!

Noelle.. WTG GIRL on that weigh in!!!! It's it just amazing that when you do the right things, exercise and wise food choices how the weight will come off! :D GREAT JOB!

Red... Great job on the 5K!!! I am watching out on the training. The schedules that I have keep the runs pretty easy during the week, and then there is one long run .. where you build up your mileage and endurance. I am hoping it will be easy enough on my body that I won't have problems. I am just really taking notes on what my body is saying, and I am going to really focus on trying not to overtrain, like I know I would if I just did what I THOUGHT I should do. Rather... I am following the guidelines of someone who knows. :-) Just be sure to stretch before and after your runs... and if you are having feet problems, you might get your shoes checked. I have some orthodics that I have in my shoes that I had made several years ago. They were quite expensive, but since then, I haven't had the plantar facisa (ms) that I used to get all the time. It has really helped my foot health.

Dips.... you will break that barrier ANYDAYNOW!!!!! Just keep going!

Julie.. I had chili last night... I love chili too.. :-) How are the kiddos?

Cal.. HIYA!

Kempy..... Have fun XMAS shopping for decorations. I haven't hosted a party in so long.

OK.. I need to get back to work.... I'll talk to you guys soon!

Hi Girls

It is snowing here! I am actually liking it, haha....up north from us they got 12 inches. Schools were all closed. It seems to early in the year for that. Sorry I did not post last night. I was wiped out. I was at school helping in the class. 22 kindergartners are alot of work, LOL. I am also trying to get my house in order because my brother and sil are flying in today. This place is a complete mess, toys everywhere. Burn some calories cleaning though :)
I am pretty much staying on track with eating but excercising is taking more work. I have pms and I am bloated but I know excercisng helps with that so I have to get off my butt and DO IT!

Noelle you go girl! I am so proud of you. :carrot: :carrot: :bravo:
Sorry about the bathroom situation. It is a pain to get up in the middle of the night and go. I have been drinking too much water before bed and I have been up 2-3 times a night.

Angie I am confident that the 3rd time will stick! Are you going to be walking outside this winter or mainly do the treadmill? I may combine both. I think I will have to pick up a bag of the WOW chips.

Cherie, you are coming along with your training. Great job! Massage those legs so they don't get sore.

Kempy have fun decorating the house. I think I may get some of my decorations out. The snowman stuff anyway.

Dips glad you are feeling better. Your arms are going to look great in sleeveless shirts for next summer :)

Cal I have to tell you that being a teacher must be so much work. I can't believe how organized the teacher has to be. I think teachers are great :)

Well my work is calling me and dd is wanting lunch soon. I have to plan out some dishes to bring to my mom's for our early Thanksgiving dinner. I am going to make jello jigglers for the kids and some kind of jello salad and I think a green bean casserole and some homemade pumpkin or cranberry bread. I think I will turn on some Christmas tunes! Check back soon. Have a great day all.

Hi Red

11-16-2005, 02:22 PM
Good Afternoon girls!! I am late getting here today. I have done a half an hour workout so at least the one I have planned to do everyday is done. I did an extra 15 minutes on the bike yesterday bringing yesterdays total to 45 minutes. I feel pretty good now. I have a huge pot of spaghetti sauce in the crockpot for supper tonight.

Noelle, I have a master bath in my bedroom and I cant imagine not having it now. I must have a small bladder or something because I can pee nonstop. I love the convenience plus I dont have to share a bathroom with 3 dirty little kids. haha.

Dips, You had me laughing. I have made other people jump on my scale a few times too. I bet the scale will move for ya soon.

Cherie, I really admire you. You are working so hard and doing great! I wished I could be there to watch you run(notice the key   ) I cant run since I had kids I will pee myself when I try to run. It sucks too because I would love to run.

Julie, We got some yucky weather yesterday. It snowed then sleet and now rain. GROSS! I am kinda looking forward to some snow for Christmas too though. It can leave after that though. :snow4: :gift2:

That is so nice that you get to see your brother today. I know how badly you have missed him. Have fun and tell them I said hi.

Well, that is about it for me so far today. My food is Breakfast: cereal and skim milk- Lunch: turkey sandwich and chips- Supper will be spaghetti with garlic bread and a salad. I also intend to add another 15-20 minute workout tonight.

11-16-2005, 02:23 PM
Good morning girls, happy hump day. Well, I'm home this morning as Rick is working on the bathroom repair FINALLY! I think I'll take the dog out for a walk this morning since I'll be at an appointment in the afternoon and probably won't make it home before dark. See how motivated I am? I'm going to get my hair cut this morning as well, nothing drastic, just a trim to even things up and keep it healthy. I have to look good for the weekend as Rick and Michael will be gone and I will have a girls' night out w/my best buds. That will be fun.

Hi Julie, I can see how you'd be so drained from spending the day with an entire classroom of kindergarteners  Yeah, I don't know how Cal does it--of course she has 7th graders which I think could be worse ;), right Cal? That is so nice you get to spend Thanksgiving with your brother and SIL. So when are you going to go visit them out west?

Cherie, I gotta give you credit girl, 4 miles running. I am tired just thinking about it. You sound like you're in a good place right now. I remember in high school where they used to make us do 4 laps around the track and that was only a mile...I think.... me and another chubby friend used to run twice around then walk the rest, we were so lazy.

Dips, I know with you being in the Army and all you can do real push ups. My arms are so weak that I am only doing the kind where you stand up against the wall. Baby steps for me :) Glad to hear you are feeling better. I'm with Cherie, you will break that barrier, just keep going.

Red, good job on your 5K girl. That sounds so major to me, I am so not a runner. Do a lot of the Japanese people jog around town? I'm just asking because they come down in droves during the Honolulu marathon and the Great Aloha Run coming up February. There are some serious runners from Japan that come but sometimes you see families pushing strollers in the races and moms wearing dresses and heels, it's a sight to see. I know they charter tours to fly in from there.

Gotta grab a break here...I'll be back later. Have a good one everybody.

11-16-2005, 05:13 PM
Man, I turn off the puter for a few hours and you guys burn up the site with chat. :D

I really didn't find any decorations that I couldn't live without. We are going to head down to New Orleans to shop Saturay so I might be able to find somethings there. I want to give some economy to the city anyway.

Red Mary Kay is a cosmetics company. They are branching out to your part of the globe now so I bet you will be hearing about them soon. I am not areally a big makeup wearer but I love the skin care stuff.

Noelle you ROCK!!!!!!! That is just the greatest thing. I am still working on a 2 lbs loss but I am working on it and that is what matters. I not only have to get up in the middle of the night now we are having to let Echo out at around 1AM. For some reason she is having to go lots more.

Angie and Julie I wish we would get snow. We are cold today though so I am not going to complain. It feels awesome outisde. We are hugh windows on the back on the house so the sun warms us up so I have to open a window to keep it kind of cool in here. It is supposed to be 36 tonight though. BRRRRR

Cherie I just can't say it enough, I am so proud of you. Training like this, it is just great.

Dips when you workout do you do the same things that they had you doing in the military?

I really need to get my house in order. I havn't put the things away that I bought today. I'll check back in a bit.

11-16-2005, 10:06 PM
Hey Girls!!! Well, it's 8 PM and I am actually checking in here. I've got the girls in the showers, and soon they will be off to bed. Then it's off for me to go hang up the three baskets of laundry that are in my room. WAITING.

I did my three miles on the treadmill tonight. I upped it to 4.5 miles and hour and did it in 40 minutes. 400 calories burned according to my HRM. Not bad, I'll take it. :D

Kempy.. I was wondering how NOLA is doing.. I hope they start to bounce back soon.

Angie.. WTG you are doing great!!!!

Noelle.. I hope Rick go the bathroom fixed!

Julie.. you are brave.. all those two drive me crazy.. I couldn't be a homeroom mom!

Well, I am tired and stuffed. Had soft tacos tonight. I feel like I should get back on the treadmill for more work, but naw.... that's no fun! :-)

I'll see you all tomorrow!

11-17-2005, 12:48 AM
I am beat! I just want to crawl into bed and get some shut-eye. Of course I had to check in with my girls first:

Cheri- ou continue to amaze me. You have an excellent pace going on but the tread mill does spoil you. t is more difficult to run on a track because the mental challenge is greater. That's why I hate running on tracks. I would rather run on the road or through the park, that way I can check out what's happening around me and not think so much about running. I would totally run with you if I were there. :tread: Its been a minute since I ran a good distance but running is a mental thing for me. Once I get my rythm, I could go for a while.

Kempy- Is the house in order yet?? I want to get some decorations myself but I just can't find the time. Maybe next weekend. You'll get your metabolism into gear soon enough. I can't wait for your weigh-in success post :D Good luck finding some cool stuff in new orleans. BTW, The only thing I do that I did in the Army is push ups. A lot of the military excersises can cause serious injury if you are not properly supervised. Besides, the army builds you up for combat so you get all bulky. I'll see if I can dig out some of my army pics. you'd swear I was a boy  These days I do things to make me look feminine and cute.

Noelle- Glad you finally got Rick to work on the bathroom. I bet your hair looks great too. These days I only have time to keep mine braided. It's easy maintainance (just like my Army days) Anyways, looks like you'll be getting some action this weekend. Can't wait to hear all about it! Be good, remember, I'm young and impressionable and you're an influence on me ;) By the way, push ups are challenging but I bet you're underestimating your strength. Besides, those wall push ups are no joke either. My dad was a soldier also, I used to do them with him when I was a little girl so I had many many years of practice. If I show you the technique, I'm sure you could give me a good 5 right now :drill:

J- Wow. That's all I can say. I mean I grew up in a house full of kids but they varied in age. 22 5 year-olds might move me to murder  You're right though about the teachers, the control they have over a room full of rambunctious kids is unbelievable. You get credit for doing it for a day. That's one more day than I would be bothered  Did you say it's snowing by you and you like it? :?: Well do me a favor and keep it for yourself! I hate the snow. I'm actually hoping we go the whole winter without it. (wishful thinking I know)

Angie- I could use some sketti! :hun: Mind if I stop by for a plate?? You are working so hard. I am so proud of you! You are going to accomplish big things by the time x-mas rolls around! Sorry about the yucky weather. It's rainy over here in the apple. That's cool though, I'll take rain over snow any day :rain: I'm not too worried about the scale by the way. I know as soon as I get active again, things will happen. I'll keep you posted.

Red- What's good dirl. A 5K, huh. How many miles is that? I never was any good at the whole metric conversion. How's everything otherwise. Hey, are you making your way back to the states any time soon?

Okay, gals, I'm gonna see if I can post some pics for the fun of it

11-17-2005, 01:54 AM
This was me when I was in boot camp. Pretty boyish, huh  The X-mas one was me in Italy...hope that gets everyone into the spirit!!

11-17-2005, 10:26 AM
Great Pictures Dips!!! You looked so healthy and strong! WOW.... Those are muscles! Gives me something to work towards!

You and Angie live so close to each other.. you should really plan a visit!!!

Well, Today is Thursday, and after I make it through my 8 hour sentence, I am heading off to the Y to meet up with a personal trainer to get my health assessment and a body fat analysis. Hopefully in 8 weeks (when we do the check up) I will have made some improvements. It's also crosstraining night, 3 miles on the elipitcal machine, and strength training, which I will go through all the machines with the trainer. Should be a good work out.

OK... Hannah said something to me last night that has me concerned. She said she was keeping it a secret, but for whatever reason, she decided to tell me. She said ever since her dad has died, she has been hearing voices, his voice and seeing him around her. She said it has happened alot. I asked what does he say, and she tried to sit there and remember, but said she really couldn't because he always said alot, but that he would talk how happy he was when she was born, or about the easter egg hunt that they went on and he carried her, stuff like that. STUFF that are either in pictures that she and I have gone over, or things that I have said to her in the past. Also, she says she sees him around her.. when her friends think she is looking at them, she is actually seeing her dad. She has made mention of this before, as a random comment, that she sees her dad.. I was just thinking she meant she sees people who remind her of her dad, or she hears something, a song or whatnot that reminds her, but she said she actually sees him. Oh.. and also, that he has been coming into her dreams at night. Her nightmares. She has been having a lot of them, but that he comes in to protect her, in a white robe and wings.

I'm not quite sure what to say about this.. other than I tried to let her know that he still loves her and that maybe this was his way of letting her know everything will be OK. I am not sure. I didn't want to let her know how freaked out I got, and scare her. In the back of my mind, I do believe that there is a possibility that she really has seen something that is part of her dad. My mom had experiences where she would see her dad that died when she was 16 on several occassions, mainly when she was really down, or depressed or stressed, she would sense him or see him out of the corner of her eye, stuff like that. And my stepdad said he thought he saw his shadow too... so I believe it can happen, however, it freaks me out to think Steven could be INSIDE my house.. you know! :-) Anyway,.. I am going to try to talk to her a little more about it today and see what else she will say before I decide she needs to see a doctor or therapy.

OK.. back to work here... I'll talk to you all soon!

11-17-2005, 12:17 PM
Good morning girls!! Well, yesterday I got in 45 minutes for a workout and I incorporated a banana and a little bowl of sugar free pudding with cool whip because I was thinking I wasnt getting enough calories in a day and it worked because my scales had a nice little loss this morning. I am waiting until Saturday for my official weigh in though.

Dips, WOW you are one built girl! I wouldnt wanna piss you off. You have inspired me to be all I can be too.

Cherie, Me and Dips dont live that close together. I went to Mapquest and we are 438 miles apart and they estimated a 7 1/2 hour drive to get there. I have faith that we will all get to meet in person one of these years though. Once I get to goal and get my tummy done I will fly wherever you all want to meet and we can all party.

I dont know what to say about your daughter. Maybe this is her way of coping with her loss to make her feel like he is always with her still. It must be so hard on them being so young and all.

Well, I gotta go to work but I will check back in later.

11-17-2005, 01:33 PM
Hi Girls

Dips you look so great. Your arms look wonderful. Love the pictures.

Angie don't you love it when you peek at the scale and have a loss. Good for you!

Noelle I hope you got pampered at the salon. I bet you look fabulous!

Cherie, poor little Hannah and Megan too. They have been through so much with the loss of Steven. I am glad she was able to talk to you about it. I think you said the right thing to her about her Dad wanting her to know that he loves her and everything will be okay. I hope you have a good meeting with your personal trainer tonight.

Kempy I think it is great you are giving to the economy in NO. Hope you find things you like.

I didn't make it to my mom's last night because of the weather and my brother was late getting in. The roads are so icy here. The wind chill was almost zero here when I brought ds to school. Angie and Dips I wonder if it is headed your way? Anyway after ds gets done at school we are going for pizza. God give me the strength. Pms is really being rough on me this month. I feel bad because I have not had any weight loss in a long time. My body just will not have the scale moving down. Anyway girls I think I may run to the store to pick up a few things. Talk with you all soon. Hi to all I missed.

11-17-2005, 04:17 PM
Hi girls, I'm really tied up today and don't have much time but I wanted to say hello to everyone :D

Dips, wow look at them muscles, I'm sked a you  You better keep that picture up at your house when you have a daughter ready to go out on a date with her new boyfriend

Cherie, my niece behaved similar to Hannah when her great grandpa passed away. I think her mind was just working overtime and she was trying to make sense of everything that was going on. I do believe in angels (and demons) and believe that some people are just more attuned to spirits and stuff like that so it just may be that she is just more in tune with his spirit? I would be freaked out too but your words of comfort to her are more than adequate I think. You are a good mom to your girls

I really gotta run...Rick is standing outside my office window checking out the computer screen

I'll be back later if I can.

11-17-2005, 04:32 PM
Hi Noelle, Rick no peeking :D just kidding. Don't work to hard girl.

I have brownies in the oven for the pizza party tonight but they are not going to be going into my mouth! I will resist them. I will just smell them baking away and that will have to be enough. I have to go plug the curling iron in and try and do something with this hair of mine. Just wanted to pop back in and say Hello :)

11-17-2005, 08:29 PM
Hey girls!! Well for today I have done 45 minutes for exercise and breakfast was cereal and skim milk- Lunch: turkey sandwich and watermelon-Supper: leftovers of spaghetti and salad and garlic bread. Snack tonight is sugar free pudding with ff cool whip.

Noelle, I hope you get some free time today.

Julie, Jay said he thinks we are gonna get your weather because the next few days are supposed to be COLD!! MMMM Brownies. You are a rock girl!!

Well, I am going to go get ready to watch Survivor and CSI. Talk to you all tomorrow.

11-18-2005, 12:24 AM
Okay, I appreciate the compliments but the whole point was to show you haw boyish I looked in boot camp. I dind't like that look. I wnted to look more feminine which I think I do now. (I still have to develop my latest pics so I can post them) Anyway, you all do wonders for my ego :D

Cherie- When my grandmother passed away, I was 14 years old. For months afterward, I would see her in my dreams and swear I saw people who looked exactly like her walking down the street. So much so, that I would follow them to get a better look. It's like I had to be sure it wasn't her. At any rate, it's perfectly okay for her to reach out to her father. In fact, I would encourage her to talk to him and ask questions. Find out how he's doing and let him know that je doesn't have to worry about her because everything is okay. It will ease the sense of loss to know that in some way he is still with her. I don't think therapy is necessary if she is affected in a positive way. I can totally understand why you would get a litle freaked out but children have their way of dealing with grief and her way is not as out of the ordianry as you may think.

J- Pleeeeease don't wish that evil snow on me and Angie. :snow4: I get chills just thinking about it. You can keep it alllllll for yourself. Anyways, I want brownies but I gotta stay focused for Thanksgiving. No treats till then.

Noelle- You are a funny girl. I want my muscles to be more lean and less bulky. I do miss the 6-pack I used to sport. These days it's more of a two pack. But I'm working on it.

Angie- You inspire me. I got that way because I had crazy people who look like this :drill: dragging me out of bed every morning. You're motivating yourself which is so much harder. You're making me crave cereal. Haven't had it in forever. I think I'll hit up the grocery store.

Hey Red- How's life overseas?

11-18-2005, 03:13 PM
TGIF Everyone. My day started out crappy, but it's slowly getting better. Tonight I have a date with Alan, and he is taking me to dinner. The girls will be at Parent's Night Out at school, so I have exactly 4 hours to have fun!

Yesterday, I went to the Y and did my health assessment with a personal trainer. I won't find out the results til Monday. Hopefully he will have me a program set up for me to follow with my training.

Hannah and I had another talk last night about her dad. Its really much worse than what I thought. I mean, its still in a positive light, but it's happening every day. For example, yesterday, we went to Wal-Mart. Hannah and I got seperated by an isle, and she called out to me... I called to her and stopped and waited. She said before I called to her, she saw her daddy, and he said he loved her and that he would take her to her mom. She said he went inside her heart and pushed her to my direction.

She told me more stuff, and at night, it just freaks me out. Anyway.. just for my piece of mind, I have scheduled her an appointment with a grief therapist next Tuesday.

I really didn't exercise at all yesterday, I did a one mile walking test for the PT. And I over ate calories by about 500. Today is my official day of rest, and I have 800 calories to use tonight for dinner. I hope I can make a good food decision. But Alan and food is my one big weakness!

Dips... I can't wait to see the new pictures.... You looked great before.. I bet you look even better now!

Angie... you continue to impress me so much and motivate me too... GREAT JOB! Oh.. and you can keep your snow too... all of you... until I go to colorado to ski, then I want a bunch of light fluffy snow!

Julie you are so strong to be making brownies... YUM hot from the oven with a big glass of milk... I am drooling just thinking about it. I hope you stayed strong!

Noelle.. thanks... I am hoping Hannah is OK... I just don't want this to affect her in a negative way.

Hi Cal and Hi Red and Hi Kempy.. and everyone else.

I need to get busy again. I'll try to check in tomorrow. My weekend is pretty well planned out. Tonight Alan, tomorrow, my long five mile run, clean the house and clean the garage, then babysitting for the neighbor. Sunday.. vegging and then Alan is coming over that night.. Oh.. and I will go to the Y and do cross training and strength training and let the girls swim. :-) Good weekend. In three more hours, I can start it!

Hugs everyone!

Hey girls!! I had to go grocery shopping this morning so that is why I am late today. I got some Christmas shopping done and wrapped. I havent exercised yet today but I will try later. Todays food is Breakfast-cheerios and skim milk- Lunch: Turkey sandwich and wow chips- Supper: Terriyaki chicken, baked potato and cauliflower.

Well, That is about it for me today. I will check back later

11-18-2005, 05:16 PM
Hey everyone. I am so hungry for lunch right now but I don't know what I want to eat. I'm leaning toward a Subway toasted roast beef sandwich :T Yesterday I had a turkey sandwich w/all the veggies then added a bit more alfalfa sprouts. I think in my other life I was a :moo:, I love sprouts of all kinds~ clover, alfalfa, bean...etc etc. Maybe I haven't fully evolved  TONIGHT IS HARRY POTTER!!!! I can't wait! My girlfriend was one of those that went to the midnight showing last night. SHe better not give me the blow by blow when we see it together. I hate that.

Cherie, have fun on your hot date tonight. ;) I think Hannah would benefit from talking to a counselor. How's Meghan faring? I just found out that my niece will be coming over to our house tomorrow. She's supposed to go to her grandmothers' funeral but my sis says she's been having nightmares and is afraid to go. I dunno, I think my niece is a big chicken and my sis feeds that fear and it just gets bigger as the years go by. Hannah's a different story though, she's seeing things in a positive light. My niece has a lot of irrational fears--say for instance, she's afraid of the "guy on the oatmeal box"--you know the quaker?

Dips, you have a 2-pack, I carry a keg  I remember sending Rick off to bootcamp (16 years ago?) and he was probably around 210 lbs. He's 5' 9", and when he came back to me he was around 167--thin as a freakin' rail if you ask me. That was the only time I ever outweighed him. We've grown and shrunk together through the years  How's your man doing (if you don't mind me asking)? Or are you too busy w/work and school these days?

Julie, pizza and brownies? Girl, you have extra strength will power if you resisted both--the aromas from both of those things cooking alone would drive me batty. I had to sit by my dad at the table yesterday during lunch, and he kept offering me Doritos from this stupid huge mega-size bag--it was terrible. I don't yet have the urge to cheat yet, but boy those people in my house don't make it easy. How'd the pizza party go?

Kempy, anything fun planned for the weekend?

Cal, hope you can pop in and say hello.

Red, what are you doing this weekend?

Holly, holla when you get a chance.

 Gotta get to work so I can skip out for lunch. Hi to all and have a great day.

11-18-2005, 07:53 PM
WOOHOO, I just made myself do 30 minutes for a workout today. I wasnt planning on doing anything but I forced it. :ebike: Tomorrow is my official weigh in day.

Noelle, Have fun at your Harry Potter movie :corn:

11-18-2005, 07:58 PM
Hello everyone. Sorry I haven't been able to post. I have done quick reads of all your posts and am glad to hear that things sound okay. Cherie, I wouldn't worry about your daughter too much. I do think this is the result of her grief and a highly active imagination, along with all the stories and movies we have these days such as Sixth Sense and such. I think Dips' has the right idea and worry that an appointment with a grief therapist may give your daughter the wrong idea, that there is something terribly wrong with her. I don't think there is at all, and agree that just talking and having a bit of loving fun with the whole thing is the way she should be looking at this, not getting scared by it or fearing it. Yes, reach out to him, while at the same time, realizing that this is only a way to deal with the pain she is feeling. Be careful not to let her start thinking she is "sick" in any way. And you, calm down!, this is nothing to freak out or panic about. You are a wonderful mother and friend, from the sounds of it. Well, I must run, just wanted to address what seems to be the "weightiest" topic around here. Noelle, thanks for asking about me. Dips, you looked fantastic in your boot camp photos! :strong: Everyone else, a big hello! Take care!

11-18-2005, 08:03 PM
Angie, NO! No popcorn for me!!! :tape:

Hey girl, something about knowing you're going to weigh in the next day gives you the extra motivation to work out a little extra eh? ;) I know you'll do well.

Have a good weekend girls

11-18-2005, 10:18 PM
Hi Girls
I am fighting a sore throat and cough right now. But I wanted to wish you all a wonderful weekend. Good Luck to all of you weighing in this weekend. I am so proud of you all, you girls are my heros! Hopefully when I am feeling better I will jump right in with you. Sorry not to post personal replys to anyone but a hot shower is calling my name. Bye for now sweethearts.

11-19-2005, 12:31 AM
TGIF indeed. I have so much to do but the first thing is REST. This week wore me out. :faint:

J- You poor dear. Take good good care of yourself. As soon as you're well again, you will fall right into place with us. In the meantime, drink lots of tea and load up on robitussin :D

Angie- When you don't feel like it, that's when a workout counts the most. You are doing great! You are gonna rock your weigh in.

Noelle- You nerdy nerd you :woo: Gotta love the kid in you. By all means enjoy Harry in all his glory. Let us know how much fun ya had! BTW things are shaky with me and the BF right now (No I don't mind you asking. Feel free to ask whatever you want) I told him before he would have to bear with me when it comes to my new busy schedule but when do men ever listen  At any rate, he's giving me the speach about how he feels neglected and how I need to pay him more attention, yada yada but I let him know that school is priority and I would try to work him in but it will be difficult. I told him that if he thought he wasn't getting what he needed that maybe we should take a break. That was over three weeks ago. I didn't see or hear from him on my B-day and when he finally did call we argued again. I don't know what's going to happen with us but I'll let you know. I don't mean to ignore him but at 9000 dollars a semester, I can't afford to mess up in school. Especially since his *** isn't chippin in on it, know what I'm sayin' anyways, he's still my baby and I care about him but if he thinks I'm gonna chose him over school, he's mistaken. WOW, guess I answered the **** outa that question, huh?
RED- what's up. Glad you could pop in and say hey. Thanks for the compliment and ditto on everything you said concerning dear Hannah.

Cherie- I don't have children and I won't dare tell you how to raise your own but as Red said, think about things before you stigmatize Hannah's actions. She is excersising a normal, healthy, safe way to connect with her dad.

Hey Kempy, Cal and Holly. Pop in whenever you get a chance

11-19-2005, 09:49 AM
WOOHOO!!!! :goodscale I did my weigh in and I lost another 4 1/2 pounds for this week. How the heck did that happen? Oh well, I ain't complaining. Tummy tuck here I come!! The ticker doesnt measure in 1/2 pounds but oh well. I feel so good right now, I wonder why I go back to my bad eating habits when I feel so energized and in control now.

Julie, Get better girl. Is your brother there for the whole weekend? I hope you feel better and get to enjoy your weekend.

Noelle, No silly, I wouldnt want you to eat popcorn. It is the only smiley for movies though. So....How was it? I havent seen any of the movies, We have all the books because Alicia wanted them one year and Jay found 2 or 3 of the novels at a yard sale and we went and bought the rest and the little bugger didnt even read them. :thanks2:

Red, Hi. Glad to hear from you.

Dips, Hi. I am sorry to hear about you and your boyfriend having a rough patch but you know I am so impressed by you. Most girls would probably let their schooling slide for a guy. You are my hero, I mean that. You have your stuff so together. Get some rest this weekend. :high:

I am making Taco salad for supper tonight but I am using baked Doritos for it and low fat cheese. I am trying to make a really good supper on Saturdays and have a dessert on that night so it is still a semi cheat night so I dont feel too strict with my eating. :hun:

Well, I gotta go eat some breakfast. I will be back later to check in. :write:

11-19-2005, 10:11 AM
Good Morning Everyone:

It is a crisp 53 degrees outside right now. I love this time of year. What's great about living here is that I can drive for 2 1/2 hours and have fun in the snow and drive home and play in the pool.

Dips: I hear you about men and listening; never shall the two meet. :D Good luck with your relationship; I'm sure everything will work out. I echo Angie; you are an inspiration. I'm really proud of you. By the way, the pics were fantastic; you look awesome. You know, everytime we go to Italy we fly through JFK...complete with 4-5 hour layovers. One of these times maybe we can meet up for a couple of hours.

Angie: You are awesome. Keep up the great work. You are so beautiful and you sound so excited now. You are helping everyone stay excited as well.

Noelle: A few of my kids were telling me yesterday that they were going to see Harry after school. There was quite a group that was going together. They were soooo excited. Right now, it is the weekend and I'm going to rest as much as possible. Ashley has a volleyball game at 8 this morning...what were they thinking????? Afterwards, we have to go shopping..(oh darn :D )..for a b-day present for her best friend. Then, I will rest.

Cherie: Sounds like everything is falling into place for your training. What an exciting thing for you to accomplish. I used to love running. I wish I still could. However, even if I lose every pound I should lose, I still couldn't run. I have problems with my feet that I've had since high school and that's when the Dr. said no more running. My feet kept creating sores on them that went deep into my feet and all because of something I was born with. I was so bummed at the time. I do love walking and I do that as often as I can. Keep up the good work.

Julie: I hope you are feeling better soon. Here's some warmth for you. :sunny: :sunny:

Hello to Red and Kempy, hope your weekend is great.

Gotta run and get Ashley up. Her game starts in about 45 minutes and she's still snoozing.

11-19-2005, 04:38 PM
Happy Saturday ladies....(Happy Sunday to Red) I am so amped up right now. This morning around 3am the dogs started going crazy barking. I had Rick run outside to see what was going on and there was some guy trying to steal my dad's betel nut ( by sawing off the bunch from the tree. He was on the neighbor's side of the fence and had a stick with a saw blade at the end. Rick ran outside and the guy ran, there was a car waiting and he jumped in the backseat and left. Rick hopped the fence and chased him but didn't get the license plate. This is the third time someone has ripped us off like this--and my mom and dad sell this to people to make a little extra side cash. It's really disturbing to think that people are creeping around our house in the middle of the night! Anyway, there were a couple of bunches lying on the ground and they didn't look like they got to take anything, but they cut down a lot of it.

Anywho, we had a good time at the Harry Potter movie. It was heavily edited from the book and a little too fast paced since they tried to cram a lot of the story in....i still enjoyed it though. I think they should've broke the story into two parts and released it separately like Kill Bill Vol. I and II.

ANGIE, you got it going on girl! You're just smokin' :flame: I'm doing the happy dance for you  Tell Alicia that she better get crackin' on those books--they are just food for the imagination.

Dips, you're right about keeping your priorities straight. After all, schooling will keep you on your own feet instead of having to depend on some 'guy' later on in life. And besides, you're such a pretty young thing and there are many many men out there for the picking :s:

Cal, 53 is really nice! That is a great thing about living within driving distance of such weather extremes, I'm jealous! I have sun and rain, but mostly sun... How was Ashley's game? I'm sure your students will be gossiping about the movie come Monday, I loved it.

Julie, get better! It's no fun being :tired:

Hi to Red, Kempy, Holly and Cherie....gotta go and get the car washed. I have a night out with the girlfriends now that I have sent Rick and Michael away to karate camp for the weekened--I'm FREE! :carrot:

11-19-2005, 08:15 PM
You guys are the best. Thank you so much for your support. I still haven't heard from my soon-to-be-ex bf snce our agument last week. I think he's trying to prove a point. But I'm suprised that he isn't more understanding , especially since he's already been through the collge experience. Perhaps if he were to say, " I feel a little neglected but I understand how important your education is and I support you" maybe I would be more motivated to do something special and make more time for him. Instead I get the cold shoulder. The semester ends in a few weeks and he's so impatient.Meanwhile, before school started, I was the one being understanding when it was deadline week at his magazine and I wouldn't see him at all, then when he comes over he just wants to sleep. Men are such babies. At any rate, thank you for being there to let me know I'm doing the right thing.

Noelle- That's the problem with making a book into a movie. You don't have the time to let the whole story play out. Glad you liked it though. You have such a youthful spirit. HAve a great time tonight. I'm trying to get out tonight myself even though I should stay in and prep for my finals but I don't have to get up early tomorrow so I suppose I could burn the midnight oil. BTW that is so crazy about those creeps in your yard. I really wish Rick could have nailed them  I can't stand thieves.

Angie- I KNEW YOU WOULD ROCK YOUR WEIGH IN!!! You are gonna do so well this time around, I can feel it :cheer: :bravo: :strong: :balloons: You Go GirlCal- I would love to lay-over with you. Name the day! It was a nice sunny day here also. I decided to go out and feed the squirels. Creepy thing though because then they gather around you and get really close and you can see thier teeth and you start to feel like :yikes: back away back away!! It was fun though, I hadn't done it in a while. I guess that's as close to nature I can get in Harlem  How did Ash do today?

J-Take two of these :m: :m: and call me in the morning. I miss you, sweetie.

Kempy- I miss you too.

Red, don't wander too far now!

11-20-2005, 03:37 PM
Sorry I have been MIA. I guess the holiday s are getting to me a little more than I thought. We went out ot eat Friday and had to much wine so yesterday I wasn't a very plesant person to be around. I really shouldn't have had the wine b/c the scale showed it to me this morning. Oh well, another day to work through.

We has this house that is being built right down from us and the guy ran out of money. Well, there is a hugh dumpster there that has been sitting there since b4 the storm and that was Aug. 29 (wont ever forget that date). The thing is full and it has all sorts of gross stuff living in it. Well, Rhea and Echo hang out down there looking for something to chew on. They both know the sound of Joe's truck so they usually run home when he coems home. Well, they were by the dumpster and heard his truck. Joe saw them so he slowed down but Rhea always runs right in front of the truck. He hit her but not very hard. The poor baby ran home and wouldn't come to him. I got her and cleaned her up. I rubbed her down and she didn't scream but she did have a cut on her eye and lip. She had a little blood on two of her paws but she seems to be doing ok. I have her in the house right now watching her. I am sure she has on **** of a headache. Joe feels terrible but I tried to tell him that she is ok. That really didn't make him feel any better. She is fine though but I will keep you guys posted.

I hate to pop off but I have to pu a closet back together. For some reason when we have company I always feel the need to redo stuff in the house. I'll check back later.

11-20-2005, 09:37 PM
Kempy, Poor Rhea and poor Joe. That was just a freak accident. I hope she doesn't have anything broken. You'll see if she's back to her old self in a day or two. Hopefully this will keep her from running in front of moving cars? Poor baby.

I just got back from my 3rd viewing of Harry Potter  I had a headache last night as well, hanging out with my girlfriends we were laughing so much that I wasn't getting enough oxygen to my brain  But! Still no popcorn eating for me :carrot: --and I got my 3.5 miles in this morning so I'm good.

I've got to go, we've got company over and I've been antisocial for the last half hour :s: Chat with ya girls tomorrow.

11-20-2005, 10:35 PM
Just a quick post while Ashley is in the bathtub.
Her team lost yesterday. They sure had fun playing though. A friend told me that whichever team can serve will be the one that wins. So true!! Ashley's team was the only one to return a serve back over the net, though. :carrot: Not bad for 7 and 8 year olds. Their serves are getting better. When I get a chance I'll post a picture of Ashley at play.

Have a great evening everyone.

PS Kempy: I hope Joe and Rhea are doing better.

11-21-2005, 01:19 PM
Hi girls

Angie you are doing so great. Congrats on another loss.

Noelle sounds like you had a fun weekend. Excellent on the walk!

Dips are you on break from school for Thanksgiving?

Cal sorry Ashley lost the game but as you said she had fun and that is what counts.

Kempy hope Rhea is okay.

Hi Cherie, hope you had a nice weekend.

I am still feeling pretty sick. Yesterday my voice was totally gone and today it is back a little. I didn't realize how much I have to talk around the house until my voice is gone! Anyway I made the best of the weekend because my brother was in town. Our Thanksgiving dinner was good. I don't know how I use to eat two dinners in a day. We had a nice big meal and took a walk afterward. Well girls the dryer is calling my name again. Have a nice Monday everyone. Almost turkey day!

11-21-2005, 01:24 PM
Noelle interesting reading about the Betelnut. Sorry about the people trying to steal from the tree. Do you guys have a motion light? Maybe that would help to keep them out. Thank god for the doggies barking though!

11-21-2005, 04:47 PM
Hey everyone. I didnt get a chance to post this morning because the kids had dentists appointments starting at 9. When we got home it was so nice out that we all went for a walk AND I did another one just now. This weekend was a nice one. I just cleaned the house and watched movies but it was nice and relaxing. We put out our Christmas lights Saturday night and some decorations in the house.

Noelle, That is too bad about your dads Betelnut. It is pretty sad when people will resort to ripping others off. I agree with Julie that you should get a motion sensor light and maybe it will scare them away. Congrats to you for staying op while having a blast with your friens. You Rock!!

Cal, Is it still cool at your house? I bet it feels refreshing after all that heat.

Kempy, Oh Poor Rhea. I bet she wont run in front of him again, huh? I am glad she is okay.

Dips, How are you doing today? Do you get much time off for the holidays?

Julie, I am so happy to hear that you had fun this weekend. I hope your throat feels better soon, Do you think it is strep?

My kids are on yet another weeks vacation from school, Thankfully they are going to my sisters house until Wednesday to babysit for her so that will give me and Jay some alone time.

Today I had Breakfast: cheerios and skim milk- Lunch: turkey sandwich and baked Doritos with some salsa-Supper: terriyaki chicken, baked potato and cauliflower. Plus I did 2 nice walks.

11-21-2005, 05:18 PM
Hi girls. I need someone to vent to so I'm gonna do it here, okay? You don't have to read it if ya don't want. I feel so old and my body is falling apart  My knees are creaking and I had to go and buy a new knee brace for my right knee--that sucks major too because it is usually my left knee that gives me trouble. WTF? I am also having TOM troubles and tried to get an appintment w/the doc. They tell me Dec. 13....oh my gawd! I don't think I can go on that long. So I call them back and beg and plead and they squeeze me in for Mon. 11/28 so I am relieved about that. *sigh* I dunno, I have a lot of things swirling around in my head due to too much medical internet info reading and trying to self-diagnose . I am doing good on my eating and exercising but I just have this weird blue mood right now :?:. Damn these hormones! I go to WW tomorrow and expect at least a pound to be gone so that should elevate my mood.

Angie, you rock girl. SHeesh, the way you're going you'll be down 15 lbs before Xmas. Keep the motivational vibes coming.

Julie, glad you got to spend time with your brother, AND had time for a walk afterward. I hope you feel loads better soon and get your voice back.

I have to get back to work for now. I'll be back later when I'm in a happier place :) Hi to all

11-22-2005, 12:50 PM
Hey everyone!! Noelle, I hope your doc can give you some good news. I have knee problems too...sometimes they will give out with no warning and I end up falling on the floor and twisting it and cant walk on it for a few days. This hasnt happened for a long time thankfully but I have been noticing that when I climb the steps to get in the house it feels like it wants to give out. I am hoping that when I get a good chunk of this weight off it will feel better.

I had to go to Mr. Paperback today to put in an order for the Cique Du Freak book series for Alicia...she wants it really bad for Christmas. I also got to order my ipod today and some accessories...Jay had it inscribed but I didnt see what he wrote on it so that is my surprise and I get what I wanted.

Well, I suppose I should get some work done. I hope everyone gets a chance to post today.

11-22-2005, 05:27 PM
:coach: HELLOOOOOOO!!!!! Where is everybody?

11-22-2005, 08:23 PM

11-22-2005, 08:30 PM
Hi ladies, where y'all hiding? I had my WW weigh in today and I am down another 2.6 lbs :carrot: Yahoo! I've been having trouble eating all that I need to eat--you know when you try to keep it healthy and then you actually come in under the recommended amount of calories/points? Well, that will slow you down in losing believe it or not. I know I will not have trouble eating on Thanksgiving day though, I can't wait for some turkey and smashed potatoes :hun:

Angie, do you have any type of knee brace for when you hurt your knee? Sometimes I'm just walking normally and it feels like it wants to give out. I have a brace that I had to use yesterday on my walk and it feels so stiff and constricting, but it's better than nothing. I've never heard of those books you mentioned, maybe I'll ask my niece if she has any--I need something new to read  So Santa's bringing you an iPod? That's cool. I still don't know what I want to ask for yet.

Well girls, I hope you are all feeling okay. Come on in and sneak a post! Have a good evening.

11-22-2005, 09:06 PM
YEAH NOELLE!!!! You are doing an awesome job!! :carrot:  :strong: :cp:  :cheer:

No I never used anything for a brace for my knee. It just would kind of pop out of joint when I would take a step and I would fall down and hurt myself. It only happened a few times but I remember the last time it happened I hurt my knee pretty bad...but that was a few years ago.

I spelled the books wrong of course... They are called Cirque Du Freak books. I forgot the r. haha

I cant wait until turkey day either. I am making pumpkin parfaits and I really want one.

The kids come home tomorrow so they can help me cook.

11-23-2005, 09:47 AM
Good Morning!! I got my schedule figured out so I get today and tomorrow off from work. YEAH!!! :cheer: Now I have so much to do today but I wanted to make sure I stopped in to say hi and see how everyone is doing. I am going to go over my entire house and do my blankets and I have to bake the pumpkin for the parfaits, etc.

I definately have to get in a workout today because I didnt do anything yesterday. The kids were gone and me and Jay just enjoyed our alone time. They are coming home this afternoon.

As usual I have no plans to do the Day after Thanksgiving sales but then I get the sales papers.... So I guess I will be heading out to get some bargains on Friday morning before work.

Well, I gotta get going. I hope everyone at leasts gets to post a hi today. ;)

11-23-2005, 01:23 PM
Hi Girls

Noelle GREAT JOB! Your hard work is paying off. I am glad the doctor got you in early. It is the pits waiting for an appointment. Hope you are feeling better. I am going to go to the WW website today and I might look into to doing the online program. I am in such a slump with eating I can't get out of it. I need to lose those first couple of pounds to motivate me, ya know?

Angie that is good you don't have to work tomorrow. I want to get a big chunk of my toy shopping done for the kids on Friday. We also need a new coffee maker and our TV in our room is not working well also last night our microwave quit but then came back on, LOL! I guess everything breaks at one time! Haha... Glad you had a nice time when the kids were gone!

Cherie, how are you? I know you are really worried about Hannah. Did she go to see the grief counselor? I hope everything is going well. Miss ya. How did Monday go with the trainer?

We have been looking for dogs online through different breeders. We would like an adult black lab that is potty trained. I have been also checking the shelters in the area. I can't believe what some of the breeders are asking for dogs. WOW! Anyway we are going to mil's tomorrow. I can't wait for some more pumpkin or apple pie. After that my mind is back on track.
Hi Dips, Cal, Kempy and everyone else I didn't mention.

11-23-2005, 01:44 PM Julie, Have you checked out this websight. It is Packerdogs rescue and they have the cutest black labs on there. I am not sure how close it is to you but...

11-23-2005, 01:46 PM
Thanks Angie! I will check it out.

11-23-2005, 05:17 PM
Hi guys, it is muggy muggy muggy here today. My thermometer says 77, but w/humidity it "feels" like 80, yuck! I went to put flowers on my MIL's grave. Tomorrow will be the 2 year anniversary of her death. I wonder what my lame in-laws (Rick's brother and sisters) will be doing for T-day. They always wait til the last minute then call him up and ask him to take them out to eat . I remember one year his sister invited us over to her house, when we got there her turkey was still frozen! Luckily we had picked up a refrigerated smoked turkey so we heated that up instead. I can't stand them....I know, not very charitable thoughts so near Thanksgiving, but I am thankful for not having to spend my Thanksgiving with them   :s:

So everybody set for tomorrow?

Julie, WW online is a great tool. I had a 2 week free trial when I signed up at the center and the website had such cool functions--recipe converters (to make your regular recipes diet friendly), weight trackers and tons of other recipes that are low-fat and healthy. I think 3FC has a board for WW online too. This is such an easy plan to follow and it works too! :soap: sorry, do I sound like a commercial?

Angie, enjoy your time off and have fun braving those after T-day crowds.

I have got to get a move on, I'm taking my parents to lunch. HAPPY THANKSGIVING EVERYONE! :happ3:

Happy Thanksgiving Girls!
I am thankful for each one of you ladies. Have a wonderful holiday and I hope you spend it with the ones you love the most!

11-25-2005, 11:56 AM
Happy day after Thanksgiving! Are you girls all out shopping? I need to head out the door soon but I just wanted to say hi and hope you guys are enjoying your weekend. Thanksgiving here was good. My sis bringing the ham and mashed potatoes was late so I didn't have any of that (during the first round  ) ....I did eat turkey, rice w/gravy, fresh steamed asparagus and a half a pumpkin tart, then a slice of apple pie. I was a bit stuffed after that, but did get a morning walk in. I tried to go walking in the afternoon too but my foot was giving me trouble so I only went around the block. Today is a new day :carrot:

Hope you all enjoy your long weekends.

ps. only 29 days til Christmas!

11-25-2005, 03:07 PM
Hey girls. I hope everyone had a great Thanksgiving. Ours was nice. It snowed ALL day. We got to just sit around all day and the kids wanted to watch old home movies of themselves when they were cute and little. It is amazing how big they are now. I had a little more dinner and pumpkin parfaits than I had planned but I dont think it hurt me any plus...this is about learning how to eat for life right? And everyone eats a little too much on Thanksgiving and Christmas Day. I am back on track today and I even got in my workout already today.

Well, we got up and went shopping at 4:30 this morning and managed to not get hardly anything on my list!!! I wanted the video rockers at Target and I managed to walk in as the last ones got sold!! GGGRRR!!! We went to Kmart and I picked up a couple of things and we came back to the front of the store and the line was literally the whole length of the store...needless to say I had to work today and wasnt about to stand in that line. I will pay full price on a weekday. haha

Well, I am working right now but I wanted to check in.

11-26-2005, 12:04 AM
Hi Ladies

I had a good Turkey-day and I'll be filling myself with leftovers throughout the weekend. Oh the damage I will do!!

Hope you all are having fun. TTYL

11-26-2005, 09:13 AM
Good Morning girls!! Well, today is weigh day and I still managed to get 1 pound off so I am very happy especially since I had to weigh in after 2 days of turkey dinners. So anyways my total loss is at 10.5 pounds so far. It feels good because I would be that much higher than where I started by now if I hadnt gotten my act together.

I just found out that my Mom and sister want to do a Christmas party here on December 17. I am nervous about that but I offered to make a vegetable lasagna(not good for the diet but I found a yummy recipe) and my sis will make a regular lasagna. I am more worried with the snacks that my mom and Claudia will bring. They had a ton here last year. I am going to do it on my splurge meal so I think I should still be okay, right? I have to try and stay away from the snacks and have a small portion of lasagna and a big salad.

Well, I just wanted to check in.

Hi Girls

Gosh, I love Thanksgiving! The food was great. But it is over and time to focus. My dd just found my safety key thing to my treadmill so I have no excuse now. Except a bone in my foot is cracking but I will try it out.
Got tons of great deals on toys for my kids yesterday. We also found a TV on sale for our bedroom.

Angie I am sure you will do just fine for the Christmas party. After all you still mangaged to lose a pound this week!

Noelle too funny, I had maybe 3 rounds! Glad you enjoyed your day.

Hi Dips and everyone else too. Have a nice rest of the weekend.

11-26-2005, 02:29 PM
Hey guys. I just wanted to pop on and post. I hope you all had a great Thanksgiving. Of course we ate too much but what's new. I am not going to post much today. I am in one of my funks again. I am not really certain what is wrong with me right now. I will keep checking in with you guys though.

11-27-2005, 12:07 PM
Hi girls. I am up because Lucky was barking at could just be the neighbors walking around in their yard--she is scared of strangers--and my neighbors are very strange :yikes:. Kai was still curled up asleep on his rug so it couldn't have been anything too serious. Anyway, this getting back on track thing is hard with so much food lying around. I have to keep busy out of the house so I'm not constantly thinking about eating any of it  I have my docs appt tomorrow (where I'll get weighed :o: ) then I have my WW weigh in on Tuesday. I have to keep focused!

Angie, way to go girl! You're so right, it ain't easy weighing in just 2 days after Thanksgiving. You're doing awesome. I know you can get though the Christmas party too. :cp: :bravo:

Kempy, I'm glad you had a nice Thanksgiving. We're here if you need us, just holla. Thanks for stopping in.

Julie, so you braved Black Friday huh? I only went to one store and that was to buy laundry soap  I saw on the local news there were people lining up at stores by 9 pm Thursday night, for the stores opening @ 5 am...there was one lady with a cooler with some left over turkey and drinks, her lounge chair, pillows and blankets  Some people will do anything for a bargain

Dips, ain't nothing like mom's cooking right? :)

Well, I'm back off to bed for a few more winks. Have a good Sunday everyone. :sunny:

11-27-2005, 08:07 PM
Okay, so the pounds that Angie and Noelle lost...I found! I gained 5 pounds over the holiday weekend (which I'm sure is water weight so I'm not sweating it) It was sooooo good. I went nuts with the food. But I am done with my overindulgence, It was fun while it lasted but I can't get too carried away.

Anyways, still kinda hectic around here and I still got some shopping to do so I'll check in later...:dizzy:

11-27-2005, 08:40 PM
Hey guys. I have been having major trouble with my puter today so I am not sure if I will be taking it to get fixed all the way through or not so if I diappear it will only be for a short time...or until I throw this one through the window and beg for another one. It was totally broken this morning and luckily one of our neighbors fixes them so Jay ran it down and he said the memory card was bad and put a new one in and walah it now works buit it is so slow. I copied all my pictures and deleted the files hoping to make it go faster but nope...

I didnt get any exercise in today because we have been screwing with this friggin thing and we put the tree up too.

11-28-2005, 09:26 AM
Good Morning girls!!! Who is ready to get down to some weight loss business??? I am definately going to do something for exercise today although it WONT be outdoors because we got alot of freezing rain last night and everything is like a bottle this morning. The kids even got school cancelled. I have noticed that on any week vacation they snows or something on the first day they are supposed to go back and it gets cancelled. haha

I am so happy because I woke up this morning and the tree was still standing with all the ornaments on it. I thought for sure the 2 kittens would have climbed it. Oh yeah, I got a HUGE tree. It touches the ceiling. It didnt look that big when I picked it. hahaha Of course right now Teddy is nibbling on a branch.

Well, I really should get moving. I hope you all get to post today and let me know how your Thanksgiving went.

11-28-2005, 12:16 PM
Good morning :sunny: I don't know what happened to my post last night. I swear it went through but now I'm reading up on the thread and it doesn't even show up. :?: Anyway, we went to the Bishop Museum yesterday, they have a new exhibition hall where they built a volcano. You can walk into it and through a lava tube, go upstairs to the top and look down into it and even press some buttons to make gas and magma erupt from the top. It's neat. Angie, I think Jay would get a kick out of it--it's not as impressive as the real thing of course, but it's a lot safer to watch. :flame: We had lunch at Dave & Busters afterward and I ate a little too many chips and salsa and this good queso....but I did have a grilled chicken ceasar salad and no dinner so I think I did alright.

Angie, you got your tree up already? ho ho ho!! I walked past a tree lot yesterday and just enjoyed the sweet smells. We usually have a fishing line tacked to the wall to help hold the tree up. How are Rebel, Candy and Mickey? Have you dressed them up for Xmas yet?

Dips, I know those extra pounds will slide off once you get back on track. Now, hop to it :drill: ! hehe, I couldn't resist throwing in that little drill sergeant for ya.

Hi to Kempy, Julie, Cal, Cherie, Red and everyone. Have a good day and hope to see more chatter around here.

11-28-2005, 01:06 PM
Hi Girls

Can you all believe it is going to be December? This fall has went by so fast. Our Thanksgiving weekend was nice. Saturday night we took the kids to a Christmas outdoor light show at a botanical garden in town. It was really pretty. They have wood chip trails through the woods with lots of differnt lights in the trees and lighted flowers and animals. Saturday and Sunday I got on the treadmill!!!! I am planning on going on it today when I get my laundry done and my tubs scrubbed out. I will be burning calories until I get to it! I made a beef roast in the oven yesterday. I have leftovers and I may make bbq beef on buns, philly cheese steaks or have it with gravy and mashed potatoes?

Angie glad your tree stayed up over the night. I think we are going to cut ours down this weekend. I can't wait to smell up the house with a fresh cut tree.

Noelle I hope your doctors appointment goes well. I bet you will be pleased with your weigh in!

Dips I gained two pounds from the weekend of eating. But I am working on it. Those pounds will come off in no time.

Well girls my work is calling. It is rainy and dark here and I would love to curl up on the couch but I just can't. Talk soon. Have a great Monday!

11-28-2005, 05:26 PM
Hi girls just popping in for a second....I ran to the store this afternoon and came back walked on the treadmill. Now ds is coming home from school and then I am off to a meeting back at school. Bye for now!

11-28-2005, 05:55 PM
Hi girls, it's lunch time here but I am going to hold off on eating until after my drs. appt. Hopefully that'll help me on the scale.

Julie, your turkey-day and weekend sounded awesome. Good job on getting on that treadmill! The hardest part is starting up again isn't it?

My house has a $ collection can going on for king crab legs and prime rib for Christmas dinner. :hun: Yum!!! I don't know how much I'm putting in yet because Rick and I seem to donate the most--and it's my sis, her husband and her 3 boys (2 adults and 1 teenager) that seem to eat the most crab. I think I'm gonna suggest that we pay per person, that way they have to shell out money if they want to eat. Gosh, I guess I'm hungry because all I can think about is food...

Anyway, I'm actually hard at work here so I better get back to it. (I have to actually work one day a week or I feel guilty :s: )

11-28-2005, 07:33 PM
Hey girls! I have been running steady today. I think I have packages coming in by every way possible this week. I love shopping on the intenet. hehe

Noelle, Good Luck at your doctors appointment today. No, I havent humiliated the dogs yet this year but I will get right on that.

Julie, Your weekend did sound like fun. We dont have anything like that near us.

Well, today I managed to get in 45 minutes for a workout and eat on track so far.

Oh I wanted to tell you guys that if you like any of the things at Aeropostale, they are having a great giveaway right now. I actually ordered last week and again this week for the free teddy bear. You just order 7 items(clearance counts) and they give you a free bear with an Aeropostale coat on. I got my first one today and it is so cute and about a foot tall. Really nice. You can buy them there too and they cost $29.50. I actually ordered a bunch of the clearance items and paid less for both of my orders than the bear originally cost. So now Brit and Alicia get another gift. I am so cheap. haha

C'mon, where is everybody? We need to liven this place up.

11-28-2005, 09:21 PM
Hi. I am still here but I am sick today. I thought I was going to lose my breakfast. (TMI) so I left work. I just wanted to say hi and I am still reading. I hope to be back to normal soon. I have mailed out your stuff so keep an eye out. It is just a little something from down here. I hope you guys enjoy them.

11-28-2005, 09:33 PM
 Hey Kempy, I hope you feel better soon.

11-28-2005, 09:42 PM
My oh my. Getting back into the daily grind SUCKED so bad  I just wish I could have had another few days of laziness.:beach: But what can ya do?

Anyways I am SO EXCITED:cb: :spin: :D I'm going to meet with a breeder this saturday and by next week I could be the owner of a new Yorkie!! I always wanted one and this past weekend I was playing with my friend's chihuahua, Bella and I got that feeling. I want a pup of my own. So I'm gonna go for it. I'll keep you all posted on that.

Kempy, you poor dear :(. I hope you feel better soon.

Angie- You are doing so well. I couldn't be more proud of you. I'm gonna go back to phase one of SBD for two weeks just to knock off this thanksgiving chub. I also have to find a way to get some more cardio in. At any rate I am gonna be one fly diva by Valentines day. I just may be without a man by then  BTW, I am all about the clearence items, it's not cheap, its smart!!

Noelle- You are doing awesome too! I'm going to pretend I didn't see that bit about the chips, salsa and queso  It's still the holiday season so we can let some things slide for the next month.

J- work that treadmill, babe! Don't let it collect dust, feel the burn:tread: And you're right about the fleeting fall season but the quicker we get to winter, the quicker we get it over with. Winter is for the birds! It's actually pretty war out here though. In the fifties today! I know it won't last but boy it felt great today.

Hope everyone else is doing well. TTYL

11-29-2005, 06:04 AM
Heh guys, sorry I was AWOL. I just got so busy and am just recovering from the work...well, I was trying to...but it looks like I'll be busy again and then I leave next week for was a very busy week with the Japan Cup here, two big international races. But I got through them...though I must say the damage done has me feeling so down  ...I put back on all the fat I'd taken off I think and I did so want to be feeling good for HK. Oh well...I hope you're all doing ok. Will try to get in the swing of things soon...ciao for now.

11-29-2005, 11:34 AM
Good Morning everyone!! I have gotten in a 30 minute workout already this morning and eaten my cereal so I am good to go for the day. Not much happening here today, I am waiting for a guy to come up and look at the old convection oven we have for sale, I hope he buys it because that will give me a nice boost for Christmas.

Red, I hope you get a chance to rest. I am sure the weight will come off nicely for you once you can get back to your routine.

Dips, I am so happy you may be getting your Yorkie. I know you have wanted one ever since I have known you. I love yorkies. I want something really small like that when mine all pass away. That way I can sneak him into stores with me and noone will ever know.

Julie, You are definately doing a great job. I jumped on my treadmill for a bit this morning too. Everything is still covered in ice outside so it wouldnt be wise to go walking just yet.

Hi to everyone else!

11-29-2005, 12:10 PM
Hi Girls

Dips I hope you get your pup! What an exciting Christmas present.

Kempy I hope you are feeling better today.

Noelle crab legs and prime rib? I will pitch in, let me know what time to be there:). Good Luck at your WW weigh in today.

Angie I hope the guys buys the oven from you. Extra money is great for Christmas. Yesterday I found a twenty dollar bill in my wallet when I was at the store and I was so excited LOL.
SO I bought my dh a present. We were not even going to exchange with each other, just spend the money on the kids but this present will be from the kids to him.

Red rest up and take care!

This morning I wanted something different than oatmeal so I had a yogurt sundae with ff yogurt, sliced banana, coconut, and raisins. It was really good and different. Anyway I am planning on getting on that treadmill again.
I am getting use to it again. Tonight the Biggest Loser finale is on. I have missed most of the shows but I love to see the transformations after everyone has lost some weight. I think I am going to make something in the crockpot for supper tonight. Check back later on. Have a great Tuesday everyone.

11-29-2005, 04:32 PM
Hi girls, well, I went to my doc appt. yesterday and they are doing some blood tests. Because my weight goes up and down they are suspecting possible PCOS. Yeah, just what I need right? That would explain the difficulty getting pregnant anyway. But I will have to 'wait and see' and go back for a follow up in 2 weeks. I'm just gonna concentrate on eating right and getting exercise. I'm about an hour away from my weigh in...I did get weighed yesterday, but I'm not gonna change my ticker yet because I want to use the WW scale.

Dips, I hope you get your pup for Xmas too. Yorkies are cute and they're small enough so that IF you dress them up (which people like me and Angie do  ) they look adorable instead of ridiculous (like my lab/rottie mix does). My BIL had one for 19 years, that's pretty darn old for a dog.

Julie, your yogurt sundae sounds great. I love that Yoplait FF banana cream pie flavor, have you tried it? Sometimes I just use yogurt w/my cereal instead of milk. What do you have in the crock pot today? :hun: You're welcome to come over for Xmas dinner, I'll even pay your share :)

Angie, good job on the treadmill girl. I tried to use my elliptical yesterday but even though it's supposed to go easy on the knees, my knee was aching. I guess I have to suck it up and go get that checked too. I can't believe my body is falling apart like this! Good luck on getting that oven sold today :crossed: I'm crossing my fingers for you.

Dips, you're already fly girlfriend! ;)

Red, hope you can fit in some down time, just for you time. Enjoy your time in Hong Kong. I am a bit jealous right now because my sisters are now in Chiang Mai, Thailand and will be back to BKK on Friday. This is their annual Christmas shopping trip. I've only been there twice but they go back year after year...

Cherie, how are you doing friend? Come out and post when you can.

Kempy, I really hope you're feeling better and back to your old self soon.

Cal, how are you doing in beautiful AZ?

Hi to everyone. I gotta get back to work. Be back later with my WI results :^:

11-29-2005, 07:39 PM
Good morning, all. Thanks for the replies to this often-silent one. I am feeling a bit more optimistic today. Even though my horoscope on the morning television said I had the worst sign of the day... ...I am determined to prove them wrong. Don't you hate it when you hear forebodings of woe? I let them bother me, something so silly as a TV horoscope.....

mele -- Don't be jealous. I actually start to dread the trips because I have no money but know I will wanting to use the credit card. And I kind of fear the drinking that is likely to take place. I had so wanted to be lean and then able to fill out into my clothes again, instead of having them already tight and getting tighter. Hotel mirrors and all that....ugh!! Your sisters may be shopping but, like I said, I certainly won't be. I am having to think of ways to enjoy the trip without spending money, which is harder to do once you've been to a place and are not just content walking around seeing the sights. That is silly, isn't it? I mean, I should just be able to revel in the idea of being in another city, another country, hearing another language...seeing people I don't usually see, taking an interest in the horseraces and all the effort that is being put into getting the horses ready. You're right, I really, really need time for just me. It's what I'm doing here right now, finally posting again. I also wrote an email to a former co-worker who I've been out of touch with. When I start writing it usually means I'm moving again, coming out of a slump. Sadly, I find that it is incredibly linked to PMS and I hate that thought. It makes it seem that I only have a window of a week or two to actually be positive and productive. The thought makes me angry. It's like I'm not in control but am being controlled merely chemically. I hate that! What, btw, is PCOS? I hope there is nothing wrong with you. And I hope your weigh-in goes well! :crossed:

jbbm -- Thanks for the well-wishes. Did you get on that treadmill?! I hope so. I am thinking that the only way I am going to see significant change is for me to actually make significant change in my habits. Ah, like, duh?!?! Sigh. Why is change so difficult when they say it's the only constant in our lives?

angie -- Thanks. Just hearing you say that you think the weight will come off helped to cheer me. I am in such a low now. I feel so beaten down, so without hope and fight. You, on the other hand, seem to have pulled out of a long slump and I am so glad to see that. I hope your oven sells. How is the exercise going?

Hello to all others! I am trying to catch up slowly here....otherwise it's just too overwhelming....please wish me luck... :kickcan:

11-29-2005, 07:51 PM
:carrot: I am back from my WI and am down -4.8 lbs! :carrot: I don't know how and I don't know why, but it's freakin' amazing. The last time I was on WW ('03?) during Thanksgiving I lost 3.8 lbs and I was ecstatic about that, but this one takes the cake. I guess my metabolism is finally getting the jump start it needed. Thank you girls for your words and well wishes, they certainly help me to stay on track.

Red, Good to see you posting again. This time of year is tough for some, maybe it's the winter blues? PMS sucks for sure. I hope your spirits are lifted soon. PCOS stands for polycystic ovary syndrome, where your ovaries produce mature eggs but do not release them due to a hormonal imbalance, causing cysts to build up in the ovaries. Sounds like fun, huh?

I gotta run and pick up the boy from school. Ciao!

11-29-2005, 07:58 PM
Noelle, that is fantastic!! :cp: :woo: How did you ever manage to lose nearly 5 lbs?! You must have been doing really well with your eating and exercise. Please send me your strength and determination!! :sunny:

11-29-2005, 08:12 PM
WOOHOO NOELLE!!!! :carrot: :cb: :dancer: :woo: :high: Wow, You are actually melting away girl!! Great job!!! they should have a melting snowman smiley for this.

Red, I hope your spirits get lifted while on your trip. I get down during the winter myself and I hate it when it happens.Luckily everyone here is awesome for lifting my spirits.

Well, I have been good with my eating today and I will have gotten 45 minutes for a workout in so hopefully the night time muching doesnt get to me tonight. I wanted to chew so bad last night....I didnt do it but boy was it hard.

Noelle, I have been meaning to ask you if maybe a recumbent bike would be good for you where your knees are acting up on you. I bought mine from Kmart for $100 and I love it. I can do it while I am watching tv and it is comfy to sit on.It doesnt take up hardly any space because I am so short that is pulls almost all the way in. I went and bought an expensive one from Sears last winter and it sucks. I think the cheaper the better. At least when comparing the 2 machines.

11-29-2005, 08:48 PM
Hi Girls

Noelle :bravo: :cheer: that is so awesome about the weight loss! I wanted to tell you I have been on bc pill since about sixteen years old because of ovarian cysts. They get to the size of grapefruits and at that point just time that happened to me and the doctor thought it was my appendix, did the surgery come to find out it was my ovaries again. So I have been on bc to keep the hormones in check. I hope you are okay, are they going to do and ultrasound to check for cysts? Hugs girl, female problems are a b*tch!!

Are any of you girls getting your kids flu shots? I don't know if I should or not. They are saying for those 6 months to 23 months or a child high risk like with diabetes or asthma or the elderly.

Angie aren't the nights hard time to keep out of the snacks? Most of all when my entire family is sitting around munching! I am going to try and catch some of the biggest loser tonight for some extra motivation. Stay can do it!

Red hope you are feeling better soon. Pms is a terrible thing. I dread it every month! Good thing about it though is it passes. Take care of yourself.

Miss you Cherie! Come back soon and chat when you can:)

I made chili and put it in the crockpot. I made cornbread muffins too. I also had some ripe bananas so I made dd some banana bread. She just loves the stuff. I won't have any of it. I feel like I have been cooking all darn day! Oh well. I got on the treadmill today for about 15 minutes. That is better than nothing. Well sweeties time for me to get off the computer. Hi to all I missed!

11-29-2005, 09:03 PM
Heh guys, thanks for your kind words. jbbm, actually, I must have been unclear. I'm not PMSing now! :lol3: I was just thinking of how it aggravates things and gets me in such a slump...I mean, there are major problems in my life...debts!!...and the PMS just makes them seem even worse. It's not that everything looks rosy otherwise. It's just that the bad becomes really bad and immobilizing for much of the month. If I could just make the bad better the worst would only be bad...get it? :)

Angie -- you wanted to chew?! Maybe you should get yourself one of those doggie things, or some unflavored version and just go for it!! :lol3: Funny, my food attacks never involve's more like just suck it all in!

Trying to be a little productive today, or fall yet further into the hopeless state. What I desperately need are hugs and kind words....

11-29-2005, 10:18 PM
I can't believe how great everyone looks on The Biggest Loser. They are awesome motivation!

Good Night Girls

11-30-2005, 07:21 AM
Good morning girls... It's 1 a.m. and I'm wide awake. I want to kill Rick, he came strolling in around 11:30 pm (out drinking again). I get so mad when he does this. Don't know if I want to put up with it much longer. I'm seriously thinking of packing a bag for him and pushing him out the door until he agrees to get some help for his problem. On a more positive note, I am going to an Eagles concert tonight, with or without him. Music just cheers me up, you know?

Julie, I just found out that there will be another local biker build-off here (of the motorcycle sort). They are going to have the Motley Crue bikes on display as well. Can't wait to see if i run into any of them, mostly Tommy :T . Oh yeah, and Tommy Lee will be DJ'ing at a club the night before the concert. I can't make that one though since Michael's school will be having their Xmas program that same night. Bummer! I will send my girlfriends though and they promised to take pictures for me.

I didn't watch any of the other shows but I did watch the finale of the Biggest Loser. It is SO AMAZING how these people transformed themselves even after getting voted off. It's so inspiring! That guy Pete was pretty darn sculpted wasn't he? I don't think it's fair that they pit the men against the women, although Suzy did a bang up job didn't she?

Angie, I've never considered a recumbent, but maybe I will since you mentioned it. But how to sneak another exercise thing into the house when the ones I've got aren't even being used? I'm short too, so if it works for you it may just work for me.

Julie, ouch on those cysts! I have to wait for the blood test results to come back before they plan any course of treatment. Of course I have the feeling that my blood tests may turn up 'within normal limits' and I'll just be one of those people who have all the symptoms of something, but the tests show otherwise . I may just go back on BCP and be done with my dreams of having another :bb: :(

Red, I'm following Weight Watchers and it just seems to work for me. I honestly don't know how I managed almost 5 lbs because I ate a few things I probably shouldn't have. I was really sedentary prior to this so just doing the change in diet and starting to exercise again has really made a huge difference. I'll send you some good vibes :goodvibes: :goodvibes: :goodvibes:

Well, I'm done rambling for now. I gotta get back to bed. Chat with y'all at a more decent hour

Okay, so I meet with this chick on saturday. I'm sooo excited :carrot: . The Pup is 10 months old. He's a teacup so he's only 4 pounds and he won't get much bigger than that. Just how I like 'em :D The minute I make this thing final I will bombard you guys wit photos. Okay enough about me...

Angie- Those sudden snack attacks will pass. Its all a part of your body's transition. GFood job on resisting temptation! You're doing a great job.:D

Red- My love, I hope you find your way out of this slump and feel better. You are such a bubbly happy person, it kills me to see you in bad spirits. I'm here to give you all the hugs you need.

J- OH MY GOD. My jaw was on the floor the entire show [The Biggest Loser] Everyone looked so good. It's actually inspiring that they have to finish the last leg on their own. I just feel terrible for the one who didn't show up because he gained so much weight back :(. Hopefully he watched the show and decided to change his life for good. My goodness, some of these people dropped a whole person Matt lost 157 pounds. :yikes: That's phenominal. Anyways, I'm not a big fan of the flu shot. One year, my command made me get it, it just made me sick. I never got it again and I never had the flu. But that's just me, the kids may benefit. A lot of people swear by them.BTW, 15 minutes is great! A good starting point, you just gotta build yourself up but go at your own pace, you'll be fine!

Noelle- YOU ROCK!!!:carrot: I am so proud of you. You're gonna look so hot! I was checkin' Pete out last night too. He says he's ready to have some babies...I'm ready to help him  I was so glad he won the 100 grand. The ones that really deserved it were him and the Doctor. They were the two nice guys on the show. What a fabulous show. I watched it from day one. I am hooked now. I hope you get things squared away with Rick. I guess what he needs moe than anything is a lot of support and a little tough love. Have fun at the concert! BTW isn't it just fabulous to loose weight even when you cheat a little? OH that's the BEST!!! :carrot:

Cherie, Kempy- come out come out wherever you are!! Hope everythging is okay.

Okay ladies, not doing such a good job of getting back to good eating. But the women at work keep bringing all this damn food! But today is a new day and I'm going to be a good girl. I just witnessed a panel of people who lost like 1000 pounds between them, granted it was no walk in the park but how impressive indeed! I'm off to work now!!

Hey everyone! I'm back.. to a point I can check in! Last week, my daughters and I went to Tennessee to the Smoky Mountains for Thanksgiving, where we met my sister and her family there. That was a great trip.. but an extremely long drive home. Here are my pictures from it!

We drove home Sunday, (14 hours, through storms) and for the past three days, I've been trying to play catch up here at work. I think I am finally making some headway. Yesterday, the girls and I went and picked out a tree and set it up last night. Its the first full sized tree that I've been able to set up since 2000. The girls were very excited... I am glad. they needed that. Tonight, Hannah has gymnastics, and I need to go get a star for the tree.. and let Megan pick out an xmas gift for Hannah... then I am going to try to make some attempt in cleaning my house as well. I still need to unpack and I still need to do laundry... so that is the plan..

I'll check back in later when I can take a breath!!! I hope everyone is doing great!

Cherie, So nice to have you back. I love the pictures! You and your girls are just so pretty. Those pics of you and the girls together look like they are professionally taken. Those would be great framed. That looks like a beautiful area. I am glad you had a nice trip. Sounds like you have a busy night ahead of you. Take it easy:) And talk to you soon!

Dips four pounds? That is so tiny. When I lived at home we had a maltese poodle mix. He was nine pounds. But you would think he was a big dog, he was fearless and had a temper, LOL. I just can't get over it either how great everyone looked last night on the Biggest Loser. Isn't food at work the worst? Hang in there and stay away from it.

Noelle sweetheart I want to reach through the computer and give you a great big HUG. I hope you were able to get some sleep last night. Have fun tonight. It should be a blast. Have your girlfriends get lots of pictures of Tommy. That would be awesome to meet him.

Well I am off to get my body on the treadmill, haha....Holiday traffic was out today I think and I need to burn some steam from drving in it, LOL. Hi to everyone else!

Hi ladies. I came home for lunch and found a mess in the yard. Lucky (that darn mischievous pup we have) is into chewing EVERYTHING. We had to stop leaving our shoes and slippers outside or else you would have a chunk missing next time you wanted to wear them. She's eviscerated all of her squeaky toys and took the stuffing out, popped a couple of Michael's she's taken to chewing on the foam rubber from Rick's weight eqiupment outside. She's even been chewing on the wooden stairs of the house! I don't know what to do with her. I walk her for at least an hour about 5x a week, or play w/her in the yard when I can't. I just gave her and the other dogs some rawhide chews and she just up and buried it! Crazy dog. Does anyone have any suggestions for a 8 month old puppy to stop chewing? I can't be around to watch her every minute. I can't think of anything except maybe tying her up during the day--which we've done before and all that did was make her chew her bedding.... help!

Cherie, you and your girls are just beautiful--and that place! Awesome views! I had butterflies in my stomach just from the shot from that lift going downhill! And your sister and her family, very nice looking people. This is the sis that works for Fairfield--that gets you good room rates? I love the reindeer and the bears. Your girls will remember this holiday for many years. Glad you could make some time to pop in with us.

Dips, 4 lbs is just the right size to sneak around in your purse like (the other) Angie said :) Let us know when you finally get him. He's gonna be so adorable.

Julie, thanks, I needed the hug. Holiday traffic is the worst! Good for you for de-stressing on that treadmill. You know with parking at malls? My sis has a friend of a friend named Cynthia Mitchelson who lives somewhere on the mainland. Anyway, this lady "Cynthia", she always gets lucky with finding a close parking space (or so we've been told). So when we're in a busy shopping center trying to find parking, we chant "Cynthia Mitchelson, Cynthia Mitchelson"....and someone almost always pulls out in front of us so we can park. It's weird and funny at the same time. We've never even met this Cynthia person, but we use her name to get a good parking space, and it works!

Red, how's your day going so far? Have a good one! :flow2:

Hi to Angie, Kempy, Cal, Holly....come out come out wherever you are.

Progress reports go out tomorrow and I'm still putting grades in the grade book. I'm so tired and feeling down, but don't really know why.
I'll try to check in again soon.
