Weight and Resistance Training - New lady who lifts

Hi--I am just getting into WL. My husband and I are equipping our own home (basement) gym. Last week we got a weight bench and dumbbells. Next weekend we are getting a treadmill, then after that a stationary (recumbant) bike. We are both overweight and out of shape, but really don't have time to go to a gym so I hope we can do this at home. Anyway, I like the 3FC site and hope to get inspired by reading the posts here.

Good for you Buffy!!! A combo of lifting and cardio is the best thing to lose weight! yay!!!

We have the same sort of thing ! weights, treadmill, recumbant bike, boxing stand and a 3 station pully gym.
BUT make sure you have a stereo! (listening to music helps) and water handy...
Also make sure you get in and use it! (I spent 3 years just looking at all my stuff! And only recently started into it) Also make sure you have days off to recover your body! Usually it takes 1-2 rest days between body parts! And the first time even longer.
I do cardio mon wed fri, weights tue thurs.
And MOST IMPORTANTLY... HAVE FUN DOING IT!!!!!!!!!
