Jane--I hope you get some photos of your DGD's halloween costumes. I bet they're just adorable!! I'm sad that I won't be handing out candy this year since I have to work tomorrow night. But I guess in a sense, it keeps the candy out of my house!! Didn't buy one bag of it this year!
Connie--I know exactly how you feel about not having the motivation to get moving. It seemed like I was in such a rut for such a long time. I'm finally getting out of that rut, even though I still have days that I just feel lousy, but keep pushing myself, because in the long run, I'm going to feel great. ANd I know you will too once you get going.
Sue--Glad to hear that you made it to Vegas safely. Try and get some rest and have your body. That's got to be hard w/the zone changes plus the daylight savings at the same time!!
Hello to all the others!!
Had a wonderful dinner w/James. We made Oven fried chicken and some side dishes, and he made some homemade bread. Was all so good! Felt like such a huge meal! But it was nice quality time spent w/him too!
Ok...I really should clean up and go to bed. You all have a great Monday!
 Happy Halloween!!

Good morning, and Happy Halloween! :) :) :)
Just a quick pop-in, mandatory overtime today, gotta work 10 hours, bleah.
We didn't buy candy, but bought a big box of Brach's/Minute Maid chewy fruit snack packs at Costco, we'll give out as many as the kids come for tonight, and if there are any left, then they are only 1 pt a piece, and wouldn't be so bad to take in our lunches :) Carved a couple of cool pumpkins -- Tim drew two ninjas having a battle (it came out great!), and I did a pattern of mice on the front, with a big cat face cut out in back that casts the candle shadow of the cat on the wall behind the jack-o-lantern...really cool!
Finally hit 20 lbs exactly this Saturday! :goodscale It's taken about 5 months to lose 20 lbs, so it's slow going, but at least it's coming off...
No time for individuals this morning, since I gotta fly out the door...but Connie, I just wanted to say that what really worked for me this time was to do it with someone else -- Tim is doing it with me, but if not your spouse, then maybe a friend, or a relative, or a co-worker. It really helps to have someone you spend a lot of time with to kind of cheer each other on (and help each other back up if you stumble). Going to WW meetings and the weekly weigh-in is important to me too, gives me that regular accountability. And coming here, of course! I came here and made friends and posted for about a year and a half, I think, before I finally said, "that's it, I'm going back to WW!"
Anyway, gotta run, as usual. Today I have to call back the hand specialist and schedule that horrid needles-and-electric-shocks test, ugh, I am so dreading this!
Talk to you soon, ladies...(((hugs)))...

Good Morning Ladies--
MaryKate--Congratulations on the 20lbs mark!! :carrot: That's fantastic! I have to agree w/you on buddying up w/someone....If James wasn't watching what he eats and exercising, I probably wouldn't be doing so either. Even though he's gone most of the time, when we are together, we talk about what we've done exercise wise and what we've eaten, to kind of keep us up to date on it all. It's been great having him support me and then compliment me.
So Connie--If you can find someone to buddy up with, that may be a great help.
Jane--How did the little trick or treaters look? What did they dress up as? Now, did your town do trick or treating last night? Or are they actually doing it tonight? We have several who have taken the night off from work to take their kids out. The wind is blowing and it's really cold.......I hope they're all going to bundle the kids up!!
James just left a half hour ago to head back to K-Falls. We had such a wonderful weekend together. I have to get my workout in today and then make some more cookies that a lot of co-workers requested for our Halloween treats at work. So I think I'll get myself started!!
Talk to you all later!
11-01-2005, 08:37 AM
Good morning ladies,
MaryKate - YAY for the 20 pounds gone!! :cp: You have to be feeling so psyched about that. The pumpkins you and Tim carved sound great. You both must be artistically gifted.
Marti - our town allowed two days for trick or treating. Yep, the kids all looked so cute, and were excited about the whole event, lol. The twins were fairies, Caylin was a ballerina, Mackenzie Jo was a NASCAR guy and Macy was Dora the Explorer. So cute!! Did Jhanai go?
Cristi - hope you make it back today and that you've had a wonderful trip.
Yikes, I can hardly believe it's November already. Christmas is 7 weeks from Sunday. First of all, though, I have to get through Neal's retirement party Saturday, lol. I'm thinking I have everything under control, but will go over the paperwork again afterwhile. You know me, I have a file for everything, lol. The school colors are navy and gold, so I'm using those colors on the tables, and have a big Happy Retirement banner, too. His sister's DH is going to give the blessing, and after we eat dinner, I'm going to say a few words about his accomplishments. Then dessert. There will be music and a lot of fun. Unless I forgot something, tee hee.
As for today, I need to do laundry, cleaning, and some paperwork. What's on your agenda today?
11-01-2005, 01:03 PM
Happy First Day of November Ladies!
I can not believe it is November! Jeez, where has the time gone?! Christmas is right around the corner and I am not even ready for it! :yikes: Oh well...:D
Made it back in time for trick-or-treaters last night. Actually got home about 3:30'ish. Just in time for Jeopardy! Then I took a much needed nap. Didn't have many trick-or-treaters at all, maybe 20, 25 if that. They didn't start till about 6:45, closer to 7 p.m. Guess they all do other stuff, or they just don't come down our little cul-de-sac.
Katiecat~:bravo: to your first 20 pounds lost! :cp: :cb: :hat:  :woo: :carrot: You and DH have done an awesome job, very proud of you!
Marti~:bravo: on your loss also! :cp: :woo:
Jane~had a WONDERFUL trip & time!!
I changed my ticker last night but not the weight, changed that this morning when I weighed in. I was surprised to see I am 2.5 lbs. down from last Monday. Of course it may be a little more because of TOM. My NSV was when I put my new jeans on Saturday and they were loose! Of course when I bought them and tried them on they were a little tight around the waist but I figured it was because of TOM then. Didn't think anymore about them until I wore them Saturday and then the other pair Sunday and I was so surprised! :cp: I put them on and oh my goodness! Anyway, that made my day! :D
Nothing much going on today excep lots of laundry and a little bit of cleaning to get done.
Hi to everyone else! Take care and have a great day ladies!
11-01-2005, 07:21 PM
Jane--Boy, what a way to put the days in perspective!! Only 7 weeks until Christmas??? Who put time on fast forward? I just know that Neil is going to have a lovely retirement party. It sounds like such a wonderful thing! You must tell us all how it goes when it's all over.
Cristi--WTG on 2.5lbs gone!!! Fantastic!! :carrot: And hurray on the loose jeans!! You've got to be feeling pretty good!! Perfect NSV!!
Question for you gals, you find it easier or harder to lose weight around the holidays?
I find that I'm more motivated to lose weight. I think it's because my birthday is in January and I always want to acheive something before then. Halloween Candy never made it to my house, but I haven't deprived myself on holiday treats that come to work. I just don't go crazy like I used to. I like the energy I have and I like how I'm feeling. Although, my skin will never be tight like when I was younger, I'm at least making a difference. That makes me feel good.
I got on the gazelle today, then I spent half an hour vacuuming, sweeping, and moping my wood floors!! Boy!! Talk about working up a sweat!! At least my house smells fresh! :)
Ok....going to browse a bit and then get some things done. You all have a great day!

:sunny: Happy Wednesday Ladies :sunny:
Such a BEAUTIFUL day today! Supposed to get up in the high 70's today, tomorrow and Friday and then get ugly and grey. Soaking up the rays while I can. :sunny: Did the wal-mart thing today, as usual. Then headed to the bookstore...got lunch since I skipped breakfast...came home, ate and then picked up leaves and mowed the front yard. Since I didn't get in a walk this morning, other than through wally world...thought I would mow the front and back yard. Will do the back later this evening, or possibly about 4. Did get in some walking while we were gone so that was good and now need to get back on my schedule.
Marti~wanna come and clean my house? :D Jason & Carrie actually kept it clean while we were gone so it's not so bad. Just need to vacuum. Got all my laundry done yesterday thank goodness! About your question...I don't find it harder or easier, it's really the same. I don't bake a lot anytime of the year so there's just as many goodies around during the holidays as any other time. Which happen to be none. I did have two candies on Halloween night and I do bake cookies once in a great while but I really don't eat anymore during the holidays. We don't go to a bunch of dinners and I don't work so no problem there. I do cook a bigger meal for Thanksgiving and Christmas Eve but I make enough to last 2 days. And I don't deprive myself of anything.I have found that if I try to cut out everything that I like and want I end up eating too much and that's not good so I eat what I want. Besides...after cooking such a big meal I am too pooped to eat. Just want to sit down.
Hi to everyone
Well, need to get going...lots of things to do, kind of...:D Thinking I will just go mow the back yard now instead of later so I can take a long break before dinner. Have a good one ladies!
11-03-2005, 12:33 AM
Cristi - no details about your trip? I bet your soldier was so glad to see family. YAY for the loss and looser jeans. You're doing just wonderful, Cristi. :cp:
Marti - I think it's harder to control eating during the holidays for me, personally. We go to so many social things, but at least nowdays there are usually some healthy foods offered just about everywhere. How I got through it last year was to plan ahead. But then, that's how I get through every other day, too.
Katy, Angie and Susan - where are you???
Hi also to Mary Kate, Sue, Connie, and the others.
Today went by so fast! (just like the rest of the year). I had some errands this morning, then Katie came home for lunch, which she usually doesn't do, so I hung out with her awhile. After that, I sat with Mary's kids while she went to the doctor, and before I knew it, it was dinnertime.
Katie is applying to be a college intern at Walt Disney World. They're doing preliminary interviews at her school tomorrow, and she's sooooo excited. For her sake, I hope she gets in. She'd be gone about 6 months, and I'd miss her like crazy, but we raise our kids to turn them loose. She won't know if she gets in for about 2 - 3 weeks.
Gonna surf for a bit... take care and I'll see you tomorrow.
11-03-2005, 01:20 AM
Hello ladies. Nice to hear that you all had a Happy Halloween and didn't get into the candy too much. :) We didn't have candy in the house at all.
We just got home from a long afternoon and evening at Sam's Town casino. Had a good time and I won a little money....
Sounds like everyone is doing so well on their eating and exercising. I must say I am getting in walking, but not as much as I should. It is warm outside and I finally have the house in order, so no reason I can't get out and walk starting tomorrow. We are enjoying our meals here...what's not to like, I don't have to cook them.
Take care JL's....

OMG Jane wouldn't that be something if Katie got to work there? *Breathing heavy... we should of called this place Disney Fans instead of Jaded Ladies.
I had a great day...went to work early,,,ok that bit..we had snow and rain last night,,it froze and so I skated to work. Big parking lot of vehicles that inched their way along. Anyways what takes me 6 minutes took me 25 minutes this morning. Had to work 4.5 hours today so I broke it up so I could go do my yearly physical oh yay! But after I went and took a nap then went back to work.
I lost .6 lbs this week..kinda measly but Ill take it. I had a rough week. And did my emotional binge. *sigh
Cristi,,,so how did the trip go? Josh doing ok? And I think you are doing fantastic with your weight loss. Keep it up!
Marti,,,there is halloween candy every where I look..Both kids have tons each. Brandon works at Superstore and got everything for half price..Tanner did his last year of trick or treating. He has tons...work has tons...I can resist everything but PB cups.
Hey Sue,,,feeling all settled? I am jealous of the warm weather you have while its chilly here....ok its not just chilly its down right cold. brrrr
well off to bed...night all
11-03-2005, 12:53 PM
Not much to say, not feeling so great today. Feel like I am coming down with a cold...to top it off somehow I hurt my back. Well, I actually have a pinched nerve and it doesn't feel so great. Just gotta keep moving around and I will be fine. Don't feel like doing anything, but I know if I just lay or sit down it will be worse so need to keep moving. Won't get in the walk I wanted to today but will get on and off the treadmill a few times just to keep moving around. It actually does feel better when I am moving around so if I do a little and sit, do a little and sit...I will be fine.
Jane~no, no details-don't want to bore everyone. Not much to tell anyway. We flew in, did a few things which didn't really matter. All that mattered was time with Josh and it was the best! Did get lots of pics, might get some scanned and on yahoo later to share. Just hated saying bye and still feel a little sad leaving him. So what kind of internship would Katie be doing at DisneyWorld? Sounds fun and I do hope she gets it! :crossed: Your day was like our weekend...it went by way too fast!
Sue~wishing I was there with you in Vegas! My Aunt just moved there a couple of months ago. I'm thinking she likes it, not sure. She always wanted to move there and so now she's there.
Angie~we did have a great time while in GA. Nothing really do to in Columbus but just spending time with Josh was enough-that's what we were there for. Their competition was great! Got it all on the movie camera. It took us a while to figure out which one was him! It's funny because when they all have the same clothes on and the hat kind of hanging over their faces...they all look alike! His platoon didn't win but they ALL did good! There was 4 platoons that competed and the winner(s) got a trophy and braggin rights! Not sure what they judged them on but a couple of the guys (in the other platoons) did mess up a little, couldn't keep up. Quite a few parents, GF's and wives there. He looked a little different because he has lost so much weight. He said the last time he weighed he was at 165 and had lost 20 lbs. but he looked a lot skinnier. But he looked good and is fine. He has five weeks left of basic, well, almost four now, and he said he didn't look forward to it. In the briefing they said they have a 12 mile walk coming up and that's what he didn't look forward to. That and a 10 mile walk. I think he is tired of walking! As are some of the other guys. I heard a lot of them saying their ankles hurt. WTG on your loss this week! :bravo: Hey, a loss is a loss so you can be proud of yourself and no matter the loss, in the end it adds up. Sorry you had a rough week. :grouphug: OOooo, I don't look forward to your weather. I am hoping we don't have a bad winter. The snow I can deal with, but the ice...ick! Our weather is/has been so weird not sure what winter will be like. Today it is supposed to hit 78-80! And I have the air on as I did yesterday. Not supposed to be this warm in November in KS.
Anyway...Hi to everyone else.
Going to go attempt a short walk on the treadmill, a few short walks actually. I probably won't get in 2-3 miles today but as long as I get in something that is fine with me. Need a break! But don't want to take too long a break for fear of getting lazy. I am liking that I am losing and I don't want to gain anything back. Other than that not much on the agenda for today, a couple of loads of laundry, oh joy! :)
Have a good one ladies!
11-03-2005, 02:44 PM
I'm sitting here on only a few hours sleep, but James was leaving so I got up to say goodbye. I thought I would pop in really quick before I head back to bed.
Cristi--I feel the same way....never cut anything out of what I eat. Otherwise.....I'm wanting it. So I've learned to concentrate on portion control. It's not always easy, but at least I never feel deprived. This year for Thanksgiving I told James that I want a small turkey!! Every year he buys a 20lbs (or more) turkey and it's only the three of us!!! I probably have turkey in my freezer up until Easter! But I'm really looking forward to having that day to just "pig" out. I always do and I probably will never stop. :dizzy:
Jane--Oh what exciting news for Katie!! I'll keep my fingers crossed that she gets the internship!! I'm sure that the next 2-3 weeks will feel like an eternity for her!! But if it's meant to be, then she'll get it! I agree w/the time going by so fast.....sometime I feel like my heads ready to spin because of it! :spin: I feel like at times I just can't keep up!
Sue--Sounds like a luxury not having to cook!! Hurray on winning money!! Anytime I go gamble......I never win. Sheesh. but James does. So I suppose it evens out....how I'm not sure..................
Angie--Work seems to have treats all the time lately! I've done well w/not pigging out on a lot of it, even though there are time that I just want to sit and eat everything in site!! Wonderful news about the weightloss. Any loss is worth celebrating! So don't even think that it's not. It could be worse, you could be gaining. So congrats on the .6lbs!!
Hello to the rest of you gals!!
Well...I must get back to bed and at least sleep another couple hours. I have the "Biggest Loser" recorded from the other day that I like to workout while watching. Seems to motivate me watching that show.
Ok....I may check in later. Chat w/you then.
11-03-2005, 04:59 PM
Back again for a few minutes.
Marti~I caught a few episodes of The biggest Loser and it got me interested. Definitely would be motivating. I like seeing the amazing end results of whoever was kicked off the show! I usually get a 20-23 pound turkey and we are lucky to have it for leftovers the next day!! The guys love their turkey! I like it but don't eat so much. I fix a lot of different dishes and try to try a little bit of each but it never works. It is one day, actually two that I plan on pigging out and don't! Hope you got some sleep!
11-03-2005, 10:33 PM
Angie - YAY for your loss this week! Any loss is great. It all adds up, hon. Wish we were having snow here, but instead it's near 70 degrees. Yep, it would really be something if Katie gets on at Disney. She sooooo wants this.
Cristi - hope your back is better. Not sure what Katie would be doing if she does get hired. She checked off several areas of interest, so I guess it would depend where they need the most help. I'll check out your photos later.
Marti - thanks for the crossed fingers. :)
Sue - hope you're all settled.
Katie attended the presentation for Dis today, and had a short interview with the rep afterward. Now she has a telephone interview tomorrow afternoon. Then she waits. Oh joy.
I've been eating too much to lose, but not enough to gain, thank goodness. And the exercise has been sporadic. Yikes, I need a swift kick in the butt. Any volunteers?
11-04-2005, 01:55 PM
Hello ladies
Not much to say or post...but then there never is for me. I lead such a boring life. Anyway...doing laundry and cleaning once again today. I can't believe how warm it is! This is November and it is in the 70's! Oh well, it could be worse. :sunny:
Have a great weekend ladies!
11-04-2005, 08:31 PM
Yikes, it's so quiet in here!
Cristi - this is the first chance I've had to check out your photos and the link is gone. :( I'd still like to see them, if you'd want to PM me the link. We're having the same weather here as you are. I agree it's odd for November.
Hi to the other JLs and anyone else reading this.
I decorated the hall for Neal's party, and everything looks nice. I'm so glad I'm not doing the cooking! Tomorrow will be his night to shine and I want to be by his side, not stuck in the kitchen.
Katie had her phone interview with the Disney people today. She's not sure how she did. First she says she thinks it went well, they she said maybe she hesitated too long here and there. I say it's in God's hands now. If she's supposed to get it, she will. They said she'll be notified in 2-3 weeks.
Like Cristi, I don't have a lot going on, either. Thank goodness for no crisis, right? I doubt I can make it in tomorrow, but I'll be here Sunday.
11-05-2005, 06:02 AM
It HAS been quiet in here!!
Jane--Lots of congratulations hugs to Neil!! He's going to love what you've done for him! You're a special lady to do something so special for him!! Tell us how it went after the weekend.
Cristi--I did get to see the photos! They were great! And you look great too! I love your hair. It looks really blonde in the photos.
Not much going on w/me either. I have Jhanai this weekend so I won't have much time on the computer. I may pop in to just read and catch up, if I have time, I'll post.
Anyway, need to get going. Bed time for little girls and mommy's!
11-05-2005, 10:55 AM
Hi ladies and Happy Saturday!
Jane~hope you guys have lots of fun at the party tonight! So is Neal's retirement official as of today or was it in December that it is official? I can't remember, sorry. Is he looking forward to his retirement? Phone interviews are kind of weird so hopefully Katie isn't worrying over it. I am sure she did fine and like you said, if it was meant to be it will be. But I am keeping my fingers crossed in the hopes she does get it. :crossed: I'll just post the link to the pics again and leave it on till Monday.
Marti~DD said that too...my hair looks really blonde in the sun, which it does. I didn't think it was that blonde though. Hope you have a fun weekend with Jhanai!
Not much on the agenda for the weekend. V is working both Sat & Sun so I will be doing some heavy duty cleaning and catch up on some reading. I staarted a book while in GA and am dying to finish it! I've actually got two I need to finish, the other I have been reading for about a month or two, kind of boring so I read a little and put it down. Getting ready to go and make hotel reservations for our next trip to GA at the end of the month and order a couple of books from Barnes & Noble. And that's about all I have for now.
Take care ladies and have a GREAT weekend!

Crazy me...I wrote this long post then Monte called me to see something on tv and I forgot about it...
If I remember it went like..
Jane congrats to Neil on his retirement! and of course you should be by his side and not cooking in the kitchen. Fingers still crozzed for Katy and Disneyworld.
Marti, I had a halloween treat from work,,,1 out of the whole week so feeling that was an accomplishment. I don't know if I could of said that if it was PBand choc treats though,,,no will power with penaut butter...
Cristi love the pictures. Poor Josh did look a bit tired...lol So did he continue on with smoking? And I would of said you were a blonde in them pictures.
nothing new here,,,went to a going away party from work last night,,came home and showered the bar stunk like smoke. Watched tv,,read my book,,living a boring life right now and thats ok. Have a few props to finish,,,braid Rup hair,,,avoiding that cause its going to be a pain. And sewing a cover over the pregnancy belly so the batting doesn't chafe the woman's skin.
My big plans for today is clean the house,,,all those places that get missed. And Monte and this other guy are going to frame the basement. Shouldn't take long since its a small basement. Only 700 sq ft. I should clean the yard,,,well dig it out of the ice and place the planters in under the deck I mean.
have a great day ladies...
11-06-2005, 11:28 AM
Good morning, ladies,
Cristi - wow, thanks so much for sharing the photos again. Josh looks so handsome in the beret. Love your hair! Neal doesn't officially retire until 12/12/05, but I didn't want to schedule a party in December. There is too much going on for everyone that month. He has mixed feelings about retiring. He's ready for it, but it will be such a change in his life. The one thing he'll like the most is being able to sleep in, lol. Katie is on pins and needles and is trying hard to not plan on getting the invitation. (that's what Disney calls it)
Angie - I need to deep-clean my house, too, but it seems to get put on the back burner. Sounds like the costuming is coming along nicely. Btw, I had no idea calls to Canada were 74¢ a minute! But it was worth it to talk to you, Ang.
Neal's party went great! There were 53 people there, and everyone had fun. I didn't overeat at all - there wasn't time. While others ate, I stood at the podium and sung Neal's praises. (in 32 years, he's never had a sick day) Then I was overseeing the food and beverage refills, and by the time I sat down to eat, the food on my plate was cold. I refuse to waste points on cold food that's supposed to be hot. I did have a small portion of dessert, but didn't even get to fininsh that. By the time we got the kitchen and dining room cleaned up and got home, all I wanted was a shower and bed.
There was a tornado in Evansville (about 45 minutes south of us) early this morning which killed at least 11 people and wounded over 100. The winds woke me in the night, and I thank God we were spared. CNN is still doing widespread coverage of it.
Hope you have a great day!

Good morning Jane,
tornados still? I thought that ended at the beginning of Oct?
OMG Jane 74. a minute is alot,,,that is a $100.
That was a wonderful, turn out I know that its hard for people to retire,,when you get used to doing something for so many years it will be an adjustment for him. The first few weeks he will think hes on vacation..
I spent most of yesterday cleaning,,,I have two armours to clean out and a few drawers here and there. Then the real clean comings in. Scrubbing walls and light fixtures. Hate seeing lil dead bugs in light fixtures. (hope they are dead) I think I would hate more to see live lil bugs in light fixtures. Monte and the reno. guy have framed one big wall. Soon I will be dry walling...*sigh
should get going,,,have a photo thing today.
11-06-2005, 05:34 PM
Sunday Afternoon -
Sorry about the tornado in Indiana Jane but thrilled that you were unhurt!! I was watching some of the coverage this morning - crazy weather these days.
Happy weight loss to Katie - Ang - Marti and Cristi!! If I missed anyone - I am sorry. I haven't really caught up on post but for the last few post.
Busy with work and the girls. I might cut and paste some writings from my parents group because I don't have patience to write much. Excited about Christmas coming up - I bought some of those cute crafty candy canes and want the girls to make some with me for our tree. Had some bugles, and 2 lo carb beers last night while watching Tuckerville on TLC - lol ........so, that was different. I don't usually watch tv, this morning I watched America's Sweethearts w/ Julia Roberts and picked out Bewitched for tonight w/ Nicole Kidman.
k- mainly wanted to check in and say hello. I will try and book my room on the 15th when I get paid :) ......
11-06-2005, 05:39 PM
A little bored so thought I would get on the ole puter. And of course I always seem to start here or end here. Such a boring but nice Sunday. :sunny:
Jane~I was going to ask if you guys were spared. I saw some online just a few minutes ago and the death toll was a little higher than you said. That is so sad. :( It looked like someone went through Evansville and bombed the place. My heart goes out to all there. Glad the party went well last night. I bet it is going to be different for Neal. Almost everyone I know that their hubby's retired all either went back to work, some part-time. But Neal has farming doesn't he, plus the house in the spring to keep him busy so you guys will have a blast! Waiting is the worst! I feel for Katie. Hopefully she will know one way or the other soon.
Angie~no, unfortunately Josh doesn't plan on quitting smoking. First thing he asked when he was released was if I brought the cigarettes. I almost didn't but he would have bought some and he is of age so I can't really tell him no. Of course he wasn't supposed to be smoking which doesn't make sense because most of the Sargeants and big wigs do smoke. They tease the guys that smoke. And he was sleepy in the pictures. I thought he was going to change and goofy me had to get pictures before he went to bed. When we left the base we asked him what he wanted to do and he said sleep and take a 45 mn. shower! Well, after he ate and smoked. We went to a steak house and that kid put away some steak, chicken and ribs! You would have thought he hadn't eaten in a week. Then he told me what he eats while on base and my mouth fell open. I thought jeez, what a pig! But he's working it off so...After we ate we went back to the hotel and he watched a few minutes of football and went to sleep for 4 1/2 hours. It was just really good to see him. Anyway, you and Jane must have burned the phone lines up! Hey, when you're done with your house can you come clean mine?! I ended up not cleaning at all yesterday. Spent too much time on the computer looking up and ordering things!
Marti~hope you are enjoying your time with sweet little Jhanai.
Anyway, ladies...back to doing nothing. I did get some reading done last night. Guess I am not in a reading mood because Stephanie Plum is not cathing me. Normally I pick up one of her books and can't put it down until I am finished, now I can't seem to finish. Will read some more of it tonight, or when I get off here. Need to go think about what to do for dinner. Haven't had lunch and I am a little hungry. A little afraid of WI tomorrow. I think I may have gained a couple of pounds. Didn't get as much walking in this past week and ate a little more than I have been, not sure why. See ya ladies tomorrow sometime.

Yesterday, Rebecca stayed home from school. I was too rushed to argue
and she did feel somewhat warm. Though she just got out of bed so
that could have been the reason. Also she had been sitting in front
of the heater ( I use to put my forhead up against a light bulb so
when I wanted to stay home from school my muther would touch my
forhead and say "omg.....you are burning up!! Get back in bed, you
poor thing!!" )
So, anyway Rebecca stayed home. I asked that she clean the house if
possible, do the laundry & maybe vacuum.
So, I get home and she shows me my closet - I scream "omg - I have a
Everything was folded and stacked up on the shelf. The beds were made,
dishes done and everything put in it's place, so I thought til the
morning when I wanted to get dressed.
First though I was kicked in the face........ :faint:
Girls fight ALL the time. Say one nasty word and they are at each
other. Dare to look cross eyed and they are at each other.....dare to
even ask to borrow something and they are at each other.....
They don't fight over who gets the front seat in the car- which I
find rather wonderful. Rachel always gets the front seat......
So, Beck said "something" to Rachel and Rachel went after Becky who
was laying on the couch in the living room. I step in to get between
them because Rach had the advantage of standing over Beck and yanking
on limbs....., not good.
Didn't last long. Rach is stronger and I couldn't budge her. Get a
foot in my face and my nose burns, glasses come off.  :?: *&^%%$#@@%^**(()
((*&^^%$$#$####$%^^&^&&&^%%$#@@%^&&*** sooooooo pissed.
Go in the bathroom and my glasses are screwed up, nose & lip have
Rach has no remorse and says "you shouldn't have gotten in the way"
Becky is sweet and says "sorry mommy"......
I call my friend and start crying and she ask what is it that upsets
me the most????? My glasses.....I guess I can walk with my head
tilted?? She looks at the positive and says "you probably wanted to
get rid of those glasses anyway??" I guess.........didn't really need
to get kicked in the face to do it, I have medical coverage you
So, I feel better and we hang up. I bent the glasses back so they
aren't too lopsided and will go into an optical shop and try and
straighten them out in a second.
Get up this morning and go look for my black skirt. Can't find it.
Get a chair and look up on the shelf....can't find it. I look for 20
minutes and am now late....so I start pulling piles down and start
whining....."I can't find any clothes......!!" I look all over the
apartment and find 1 shoes behind the couch and another shoe under a
bed and the iron up in the kitchen cabinet. This is how Beck
cleans.....she shoves til she can't shove anymore.
I decided to wear jeans and can't find a blouse - so I grab a black
turtleneck. Now I need the hair straightener and Beck doesn't know
where it is so I go searching again and ask Rachel. She says "it is
over there" and points to a pile. So I dig.....and dig and dang she
is right! So, I do my hair and we are running late..... :tantrum: :tantrum:
Now , I dress Gaby and she wants to play with her horses and I get
ticked and say "I don't have time for this!!!!" The night before
after the kick in the face Beck was showing Gaby how horses gave
birth. It was very educational. The big horse was Mom and the tiny
horses were babies ... (suppose to be a horse):moo: :moo: .and Beck raised the tail and out came the
babies. Beck even did sound affects. I said "that is worth 5 years of
counseling for Gaby."
I finally get Gaby dressed and we head out for the car. She doesn't
want to go to the sitters - she wants to go to Papa's (my ex - not
her dad---->long story - lol) I say no that today we need to go to
Ambers -so we drive the 10 miles in no time and even run through the
drive thru at McDonalds because she wants a toy.
We arrive at the sitters and she goes in , takes off her coat and
sits down but when I start saying good bye she gets up and holds onto
my leg - crying. Now I feel bad and hug her for a few minutes. Finally
pry her loose and leave - feel horrid.
Decide not to go the freeway because of rush hour. Stop at Starbucks
and grab a venti & sandwich.....have 40 minutes to get to work.
Traffic is fine until I get 5 miles from the downtown area - backed
up, at a crawl. Decide to take the back roads :scooter: :scooter: and while listening to
the radio they say there had been an accident and it was almost
cleared up. Now I have 20 minutes to get to work and I wind through
side streets behind a wide *** truck. Pissed.....slow and I can't
munch on anything because I already ate the sandwich.....
Amazed I arrived at work on time - just soooooo happy it is Friady!

Hi Susan! I saw you had posted while I was typing away! Excited about Christmas?! I don't even want to think about it for some reason. Although, I did buy a decorative light thing for outdoors. We will have to decorate earlier than we usually do because of V's schedule and going to GA the end of the month. But as far as shopping...just now starting to think about it. I watched Tuckerville last week and just sat there in awe. Tanya Tucker looks so old to me. Let me know how you like Bewitched...I wanted to see it when it first came out but never did. It looks cute and funny. Did see America's Sweetheart when it first came out and liked it. I haven't rented any movies in a while, thinking maybe I need to soon since there's been nothing on t.v. How is work coming along? Are you adjusting to the new place, work and apartment? Okay, better get going. Have a good rest of the weekend!
P.S. Okay Susan...ya posted again while I was typing :comp: away  Sounds like you have had a heck of a time. (((((HUGS))))) to you. :grouphug: Hope your feeliing fine. Of course I would have been angry to being kicked in the face. Someone would have gone away being punished. My kids get into arguments once in a while and I think the boys had gotten into just a couple of fights that I had to break up years ago. They were probably your girls ages. Glad those times are over. Ahhhh, the joys of being a mother. So did ya make it to work on time? I think I would have given up and gone home! Just kidding...

THURSDAY POSTING - DEPRESSED
Not really but close! Somedays I just want to stop the world and get
off. This single parenting is downright hard at times. There is so much
to do and so little time.
I have noticed I am cruising the wine/beer section at the store more
often - lol. Ok - NOT FUNNY!!!! *sigh*
My home is a mess and that is what depresses me - I hate messes! I want
my clothes hung up in the closet and dishes washed on a daily
basis.....not weekly. I kick everything back in on the floor of the
closest these days.
It is depressing, it gets me down and makes me wanna eat a cake and
some donuts and maybe some strudels , bagels with cream cheese,,,,pizza
and chili.....hmmmm, chips with salsa washed down with some wine......
:eating2: :eating2: :eating2: :eating2: :eating2: :eating2: :eating2:
Hi Cristi!! See you posted. I was meaning to ask where are the pictures others are mentioning?? Would love to see them :)
I am HOPING to purchase a used treadmill on the 15th. I really need to walk and I just find it easier doing it inside. It worked before and I think I just need that now.
I did go out Friday evening with that co worker that asked me and the same one that I was in the Rose Festival with - no conncection, though he is a sweet man. I am just not interested at all - tooooooo busy with the girls and work. I don't want to spend my time/ energy "dating" - just would rather make candycanes......
anyway - rice a roni for dinner. I TOTALLY LOVE that dish
11-06-2005, 05:57 PM
Hi Cristi -
I was kind of surprised how Tanya looked too after not seeing her in years but after a few shows she is really a neat lady/ mother. I admire how she juggles it all and thinking she must be in her late 40's??
I had never seem ASweethearts all the way through - I think Catharine Zeta Jones (??? )looks so pretty - I forget her name.
Better get - chat later :)
11-06-2005, 06:07 PM
Susan~know what ya mean about stopping the world and getting off. I was a single mom for a few years and man there were soooo many times I wished I could have just quit! Just don't turn to food-it's too easy to do I know. But man, a cake and some donuts sound good right now! As do chips, salsa and instead of wine I'll have a marqarita (sp?). I really need to go get something for dinner! I don't see anything wrong with going out with the guy from work if he knows you are not interested in a realtionship and if you can find time. Sometimes just having some companionship is nice once in a while, no strings attached. I agree, Catherine Zeta Jones is pretty! She is one of me and DD's favorite actresses. She is such a classy lady. The same with Nicole Kidman. Did you see The Stepford Wives? That was good, and funny. I better get going for the third time! You're making me hungry with all this talk of food...okay, so I was hungry before that. Hope you have a great evening!
11-06-2005, 08:47 PM
Angie - you talking about bugs in the light fixtures made me laugh, because Katie got a new pole lamp for her room when we moved in here in August, and she knocked it over accidentally the other day, and screamed her head off. It was full of dead beetles and she wigged out because they fell into her clothes basket of clean clothes.
Susan - the girls will outgrow the fighting, hon. Mary and Katie used to fight and it broke my heart. Now that they're grown, they are the best of friends. Very close. Btw, Neal and I started out as friends. You see how that turned out, lol. I'm so excited that you're about ready to book your room! Be sure and ask for the same floor as Cristi and me, ok? OMG, this is going to be so much fun!
Cristi - yes, the death toll and injured numbers have gone up. Although we have relatives in Evansville and Newburgh, none of them were hurt. Good luck with your weigh in tomorrow!!
I've rested and goofed off most of the day, but did make it to Walmart. Needed more fresh fruit, veggies, bread and milk. I'm happy to report that I'm doing great with the food and water. :cp: I haven't been on the gazelle since Thursday, which I know that's terrible, but I for sure got lots of walking in on Friday and Saturday.
Hope you are having a great weekend.
11-07-2005, 03:56 AM
This weekend went way too fast! I felt like I Slept through a lot of it and I feel so GUILTY about that. I have such a hard time on weekends to have a normal time frame.....and I usually do ok w/Jhanai over, but this weekend....sheesh!! I was up at 11:30 today and I rushed out the livingroom and immediately started apologizing to her saying "Oh Jhanai, I'm so sorry I wasn't up sooner!! I'll make you breakfast or lunch...whichever you want.....I'm so sorry!! I love you" then proceeded to give her kisses. Then she tells me "mom, I've only been up for half an hour!"
Jane--Very happy to hear that Neil had a wonderful time. Do you have photos you want to share??And it sounds like you did a wonderful job w/the eating! So proud of you. I too would not have wasted pts on cold food!! (although, I would have went back up and to have heated food! :D )
Cristi--I've been wanting to read again. I pretty much took the summer off from reading...it's more of a winter thing don't you think? I would love to figure out how I could prop up a book while working out on the gazelle.....but I'm not sure how to MacGyver such a thing!
Angie--Boring life? You still sound so busy and on the go for someone who is having a boring life! Now me....that's a boring life. Spend a lot of time alone at home waiting to go to work. Boy...I think I need to go out more!
Susan--I feel for ya!! Sending you hugs!! I have to say I was disappointed in Rachael for not apologizing to you.....teens! Is this what I have to look forward to?
Hello to anyone I may have missed.
This week at work we are having individual meetings w/our supervisor for our evalutions. We already got a print out handed to us, but this week he'll be working on talking to us. I had a good evaluation. But I'm truly looking forward to meeting up w/him so I can voice some things that have been bothering me lately. First one to talk about......moving to day shift. At least the afternoon shift so I would be home by 8:00. This night shift crap is getting to me, and I feel like I'm going crazy at time. We'll see what is said. It would be good for Jhanai too...I wouldn't sleep in til noon!
Ok...I think I'm going to go for now. I will catch up in the morning!
Hugs to all!
11-07-2005, 09:24 AM
Getting ready to head off to the gym. I did update our photo album; It's mostly pictures of the remodel...but, if you're interested, well, there you go:
I think I mentioned this on the other thread but DH and I are booked for The Flamingo. Asked to be put by Jane and Cristi, so we'll see. Going to get airfare as we get closer so we can book on Southwest, possibly.
Weight is holding steady at 180...but I am burning lots of fat from all the exercise. My clothes are getting pretty baggy. Hopefully the scale will budge soon.
Sorry I'm not doing individuals, just not enough time, but I do read and try to keep up that way.
Have a great day everyone
11-07-2005, 12:55 PM
Good Monday morning ladies!
Went for my morning walk and it felt good! :tread: Thought since I hadn't gotten much walking in the past week it would be a little hard but it was refreshing. Did 3.23 miles and felt GREAT! Also, got tow bottles of water down already which is good for me. I am concentrating on four bottles and have been since doing the WATP book when she introduced water into the walking. I've been doing great with it, with the exception of this past week. I did get some walking in while in GA but the water...hardly any at all. So gotta get back in the habit of walking everyday and drinking the water every day. I am thankful that the weather has been really nice. It was a little cool when we started but warmed up real quick! I know once it gets cold I will be doing a lot of treadmill walking, or possibly mall walking. Also, I am pleased with my WI this morning. I was so sure I gained at least 2 pounds but I only gained 1/2 pound! So I am grateful for that. Not usually grateful for a gain but this time I am. Because I know it will be off this week. Anywho...
Jane~can't remember the last count now but that is just horrible. I think that is one of my worst fears...a tornado hitting in the middle of the night/early morning and not hearing an warning. I'll take an earthquake any day. Glad your family in Evansville is fine. WTG on maintaining and doing great with your water and food! :bravo:
Marti~I can only imagine being on your work schedule. I would think it definitely would be hard to change it on the weekends when you are used to it during the week. I am sure sweet little Jhanai totally understands. About the reading...yeppers...for me it seems to be a winter thing too. Not sure why. I will keep my fingers crossed in the hopes you can get your schedule changed. :crossed: I've tried the reading thing on the treadmill and exercise bike! Not happenin'! I can't read if I'm moving.
Katie~I bet you guys will be glad when the add on is finished. It's coming along fine it looks like though. Thanks for sharing the pics. :thanks: The kids are so cute in their costumes and love the bedroom-all the windows!
I need to get going ladies, busy day today, sort of. I need to vacuum and dust, going to mow the front yard so when V get's home he can edge and weed eat it and put the winterizer stuff on it-even though it is supposed to be in the 70's today and 80 tomorrow! Then plant some bulbs, trim some bushes and wash my car. Right now I am headed to Hallmark to get some cards and candles. I am out of candles and hate not having any! So take care ladies and have a wonderful day!
11-07-2005, 05:54 PM
Katie--Wow, you've done a lot to your house! Busy busy busy! Now, are you remodeling rooms or are you adding onto the house? Everything looks like it's being added on to the house. For some reason, I also thought you were just remodeling one room. For goodness sakes, I need to keep up w/you girls!
Cristi--Yeah, you're right, moving and reading don't really mix. Now a magazine, I can flip through a magazine....a little when I'm on the eliptical or treadmill. But nothing is going to happen w/that darn gazelle. I'll just keep the tv on while working out.
Didn't workout today btw. I woke up extremely tired. I took the dogs out, yelled at them for getting into the trash last night (I had to clean up the kitchen this morning!! They have NEVER done that before) and then I fed them, even though I felt like I shouldn't, then....I crashed on the couch for another hour!! Sheesh!!
I had to finally FORCE my self up and go take a shower! Now, to eat some breakfast...even though it's pass noon already! :dizzy:
Well I can't wait to talk to my supervisor. I hope I'm close to one of the first ones on the night shift to talk. I REALLY want to switch to days. I may not get to until January when we've moved...but that's ok w/me!! As long as in my future, I am going to days. If not, I'm searching through the company for a day time position. Billing would be ideal! They start at 8:00 in the morning...off by 4:30. No weekends or holidays ever!! Now.....to get my foot in the door for that!
Ok....tummy starting to talk to me so I better eat.
Chat w/you all later!
11-07-2005, 07:16 PM
Marti - here's hoping you get on days. That would work out great for you and your family. January will be here before you know it.
Katy - thanks for sharing the pictures! You guys have done a lot of work. Like Marti said, I had no idea it was such an extensive remodel.
Cristi - YAY for a not-too-big gain, lol. Sounds like you had a busy day planned.
Today was fun! I had Mary's kids over to dust my living room. They needed to "earn" money to buy a present for the door-greeter at Walmart. This is an older woman who has all but adopted the 3 girls, and her bd is Wednesday. So that's why they dusted for me, lol.
On a totally different subject, I just found out that different color plantains taste differently. The black ones are kind of sweet when you cook them, but the green ones are more like a potato. They're kind of high in calories but very filling. Lots of nutrients. I've fixed the black ones before and am planning to see how a green one turns out. Have any of you cooked the green ones?
Speaking of different, wow, I'm different than you ladies when it comes to books. I have one going every single day of the year and would be so lost without one. Usually I read right before bedtime, but if the book is really, really good, I'll drop everything to read it.
Have a good evening, oh jaded ones. :D
11-07-2005, 08:00 PM
Popping in real quick before I run some errand before work!
Jane--What a sweet thing for the girls to do to earn money. And for the Walmart greeter! That is so nice. Our walmart greeters change everday. And usually it's some young highschool student.......not very cheerful, more like :Why am I working here? kind of attitude. I say, be happy you have a job! :D
So....has anyone noticed the holiday trackers?? I have one up (if you haven't already noticed) and I thought it was cute! There isn't a lot there, but what they do have are really cute. I thought I would pass the word along to let you know.
Ok...grocery shopping for some garden burger stuff. Talk to you all tomorrow!
11-08-2005, 07:46 AM
What a day! That's about sums it up! :D
I went to work knowing that I was going to start cross training in the reference department today. Here I was thinking it was for the rest of the month.....then I was told it was for the next 5months! What?! Why wasn't I told? Actually I don't mind it a bit. Very quiet, very relaxing, and not a bunch of hoodly hoo going on in there. BUT: I want to go to days, if there is a spot available for me to go to days, I want it. So maybe this cross training is a waste of time. And another thing...I was talking to one of the lead gals about why wasn't I told it's for 5months.....SHE had no idea either!
Lack of communication!!! Someone needs to whip that place into shape!!
Ok.....got my venting and rantings of my chest...and I feel much better! :D :D
Oh....I got a compliment today, actually, I got a couple of them today that I was just floating because I think my head started to swell!
First one: I went to the grocery store to pick up some stuff...and bought James some beer while I was there. (not a beer drinker here) I got carded! And she kept looking at me and then my license, then at me, and then back at my license.....She just smiled and said "wow"
Second one: I walked into the reference department to start my training. The gal who is training me looks at me and asked: Have you lost weight? You look great!
Third: I was on my break. Three girls were talking about there 10yr highschool reunions they all just had over the summer. They asked me when mine was....I told them that my 20yr reunion is in 4yrs. They all just stared at me!
Gals...if all that didn't just make me float away w/a swelled head, I don't know what could!! I felt good. And I was in awe. I haven't been complimented like that all at once ever! So it was pretty cool. So I spent the rest of the night struttin' my stuff like some Peacock looking for a mate!
Ok...I think I"ve rambled on long enough about myself. Need to deflate a little.
Hugs and goodnight!
11-08-2005, 04:27 PM
Good afternoon ladies
Marti~nothing like having someone making your day! :cloud9: Yay, for the compliments! :cp: I do hope you can get a day time position or at least the earlier hours. What exactly is cross training? It never ceases to amaze me the things companies do. I hear all kinds of crap like that from V. I completely forgot that the company was moving in January...are they moving closer to where you live? I can't remember. Hey, I can't even flip through a magazine while on a treadmill! I saw you had a holiday ticker thingy and added one yesterday but then changed it around again today! :dizzy: I went ahead and put my HW, etc. as an all time ticker and added the holiday one as a mini-goal one. I had a holiday one from tickerfactory, a turkey one but didn't care for the turkey one so went ahead and did a holiday one. It's wintery so it can stay for a while, not just for December, so I kind of copied you :D
Jane~how sweet! Our door greeters here are like what Marti said. They have had a different person there the last few weeks and they are just grouchy looking! :( They too look like they would rather be somewhere else. I did have a busy day planned yesterday and boy was it ever. I was going to wait and mow the back today but we are moving a tree and so Vince mowed the side where it is going and I decide since dinner was cooking I would go ahead and finish it. Plus I didn't realize that you had to water the lawn before putting the winterizer stuff on. Seems odd because most of the time when you fertilize you water the lawn to death to keep it from burning. Anyway, didn't get everything done so will finish today. Can't help you on the plantains, never had one.
DD and I went to the Wichita Art Museum this morning after my walk. Didn't get much of a walk in though. The wind is blowing too hard. Jeez, it cracks me up when it is this windy and the guys on the news say "It's going to be a little breezy." Breezy...ummm, more like a tornado. Was kind of funny trying to walk in it so only did a mile-better than nothing I supposed. I over did it yesterday mowing the front and back and raking leaves and such. The yard is ready for winter though which I think we will be having soon. Suuposed to get up in the 80's today and then drop to the 60's tomorrow. Anyway, the museum was okay. It is small and two of the rooms were closed due to security issues and they had to take the art out of them. Spent 1 1/2 hours there, it was nice, small but nice. Now when V gets home it's back in the yard again. He started the hole for the tree so he's going to finish that today. Then we will plant some tulip bulbs, and wrap the bbq up. We put the patio furniture in the garage yesterday, debating over to put the swing in there also. That's about it. I did get some reading done last night, really trying to finish those two books! I am half-way through with Janet Evanovich then will finish the other one. Jane, I get in moods where I will read all the time but here lately I can't seem to concentrate on what I am reading, books that is. I can read magazine articles, no problem but haven't been able to stick with finishing a book. I feel like I should be doing something else instead of sitting. Last night though V wanted to watch football so I went in the bedroom and there was nothing on the tv so I read. I was doing that for a while, reading every night. It seems since I have been walking though when I go to bed I am ready to go to sleep. It really does help with my sleeping. Anyway...
Hi to everyone else
Take care ladies, hope you are having a great day!
11-08-2005, 07:13 PM
Just a fast hello. My suprvisor was demoted to a site manager yesterday. Very upset about that because he originally hired me 2 1/2 years ago and the way they did it was disgusting - so upset. Just not right at all.
Though I will have another great supervisor to work with so that is some good news.
I called child support and a 107 check was issued yesterday! yay....hope it is in my mail box when I get home. I think I might be lucky to have 5 in my wallet now - lol.
Been making some awesome crock pot chicken stew - so yummy and healthy.
I better go.......need to get out of here on time.
11-08-2005, 09:26 PM
Marti - wow, 3 NSV all in a row! YAY for you, toots!! Also glad that you're in a new dept. and hope you'll still have a chance for a day shift.
Cristi - it was near 80 here today, too, but the temps are falling. The rabbits around here ate most of my tulip bulbs. I know there is a device you can plant them in to prevent them from getting to the bulb, but I just haven't got some yet. Sometimes, even in the dead of winter, I want to sit in the swing. So I leave it up all year. It's really hard on them, but very thereputic for me, lol.
Susan - sorry about your supervisor. :( Sometimes things just aren't fair. Is your crock pot chicken stew similar to beef stew? I make a thick chicken soup, more like a chowder, that has chicken, carrots, potatoes, peas and seasonings in the crock pot. Share your recipe, ok? You know how we love new recipes!
Speaking of which - Thanksgiving is 2 weeks away. What's everyone doing for the day? I'm cooking here, with Mary's help, and then we're going to my sister's house for awhile where all my relatives will be. Then we're coming back here and Neal's brother Paul will join us for leftovers. He's having his noon meal with Deborah's side of the family. Madison asked me, without any prompting from anyone, if I'd make a cherry pie for Thanksgiving, so then Makenzie asked for a chocolate one. Of course, I said yes. Then I told Mary she'd have to do the pumpkin ones, lol.
Gonna do some surfing - have a good one, ladies!
11-09-2005, 01:34 AM
Hi everyone...busy, busy here. Great weather and lots to do to get the house in order. Had to buy hedge trimmers and DH has everything all shaped up. The next project is to dig up a palm and plant it on the other side of the drive-way. That should be fun.
No big jackpots hit for us..but fun trying.
da fat n da furious
11-09-2005, 02:17 AM
Marti, thats fantastic with all them compliments...I think you needed that to perk you up. I don't know how anyone can read while working out. I remember this one woman complaining in the dressing room at the gym about how she wasn't loosing any weight and she works out each and every day. I had heard her going on about this almost every day so finally I told her to put the magezine she was reading down and work up a sweat!
Jane,,,,can you make me a pumpkin pie? (big puppy eyes)
That is so sweet of the girls to be getting something for the greeter. I like the two we have...I always make a point of saying hello and bye when i pass them. Ken was so helpful when Brandon had surgery he helped me get a scooter for him so he could shop...can't beat that.
Cristi, maybe walking in the wind was more of a workout then how far you went...resistence training...lol I just got the #11 book of Janet Evanovichs and will be settling down to devour it.
Susan, that is so sad about your supervisor being demoted.
Finished the wig (Rup. long hair) I hate wigs! all that icky clingly fake hair...*shudder feels like spider webs. I spray painted Cinderella's slippers. Have to sew Jack's curtains,,,and make the bag for the Baker.
Tanner is gone to band camp for 3 days...kinda lonely without him around. Monte and John (carpenter) have done the walls just have to do drywalling and taping and such. Excited about having more space.
I got my nails back on...finally...I was reverting back to my bad habit,,,chewing. Which I know is gross but I can't help it,,,nervous habit. Work was interesting,,,had a problem with the computers and so for 2 hours we couldn't take any calls...this is like life and death in a call centre.
Came home and took a nap..been tired alot lately. Have to go for blood work tomorrow. Hoping my iron is up...even though feeling like its dropped abit.
Had to buy a new kennel for Miss Skittles...she has been a naughty girl and doing her business on my carpet! We have a rug cleaner and got every thing all cleaned up but she has done it again so will have to kennel her while Im at work. Bought her some doggy shoes too,,,her lil paws get cold fast when shes outside..she doesn't like them even though they are a really pretty suede blue, with white fake fur around it.
Would you call this an NSV? I was taking my nap Sunday when I woke I noticed my ring was not on my finger. It had fallen off while I slept. Thankfully I found it...

Good Morning -
What does NSV stand for Ang?
I am taking the girls to the coast from the 22nd thru Thanksgiving evening . I have to be back at work on Friday the 25th.
I didn't get my CS check yet but I called the auto system again and I thoght it had said 107 the first time but after listening to it 2 more times it was saying 135 issued on the 7th. I hope I get it today!
It is VERY unfair about my supervisor - hate it and full of stress now. I guess he took 2 weeks off and may or may not come back as a site manager. I wouldn't. Why should he? After 20 years in the company.....disgusting! The other property manager was demoted to back to maintenace - he will be fixing the company vans/trucks now - sheesh.....they both started out 20 odd years ago in the maintenance department together.
Anyway, I liked him.He was someone that believed in me and gave me a chance to interview for the SM position and learn over the 2 1/2 years. At least I still have Erik around......
blah - I FEEL so fat,,,,,depressed and ugly. Co worker just showed up wearing OVERWHELMING aftershave!!!! What an $%#.......now he opened the pocket door and all my heat is going away,,,,,,,brrrrrr

What are we doing for Thanksgiving? Well...we will be putting up Christmas decorations/lights outside. And will do the inside the day after. I won't be cooking a big dinner, just a usual dinner with dessert, nothing fancy or big. We are going to have our Thanksgiving Dinner when Josh comes home, actually the day after-December 3.
Susan~(((((HUGS)))))! :grouphug: That's terrible about your boss. I wouldn't blame him for not going back either. Keeping my fingers crossed that the check is in the mail today for ya. :crossed: A visit to the coast for Thanksgiving sounds so very nice and peaceful. Your stew sounds so yummy! :T Today would be a great stew or chili day.
Jane~how sweet! Makenzie has good taste! Cherry pie is my favorite too! :T I think I am going to keep the swing out back after all. I too like sitting outdoors no matter what the weather, well, with the exception of rain. I did take the canopy thing off because while we were gone we had a bad thunderstorm and Jason said the wind blew the swing backwards so he moved it to where it wouldn't go anywhere and the canopy ripped across the top. So I am going to fix it with some tape stuff I have, something like bias tape and then wash it and put it back on. Thankfully we don't have anything around that could get to the bulbs, unless of course we get another mole but haven't seen any lately. We had one in the front that was digging around the shrubs but we got it.
Angie~you are right...I didn't get very far with the walking but it was a workout. It's was hard walking into the wind, but kind of funny when it was behind me. Janet's #11 is the one I am reading, or should I say trying to read. I love her writing and it is funny! I want so bad for Stephanie and Joe to get married but then at the same time I think it would kind of ruin things, it wouldn't be the same. Maybe when she gets tired of writing the stories the last book will end with them getting married and having kids. And I would call it a NSV indeed! Hope you have a GREAT WI today!
Sue~hope you and hubby are enjoying Vegas! Have fun moving the palm tree. Hopefully it's not too big. We did that yesterday...moved a tree. I had been wanting to move it for a while and just now got around to doing it. V was afraid it would die so we will see.
Marti~did you tape The Biggest Loser last night? I caught the show, it was pretty good. So sad when one has to leave though. I can't believe how far they have all come. And again, the best part is seeing the end results of the person booted off. They take so much away from the show and continue with it which is great! I won't say anymore in case you haven't seen it yet. :sssh:
Have yet to get my walk in today. Going to do that as soon as I get off the computer. Doing the treadmill today because I overslept this morning and it is still windy. So I am not going to attemp a walk outdoors. I can deal with the cold but the wind drives me mad. :dizzy: Had to go to Wal-Mart first thing because we were out of just about everything! And the rest of the day, after my walk, will consist of doing a couple loads of laundry, changing the sheets on my bed and vacuuming. And that's about all I have.
Take care chickies and have a wonderful day!

I think I will run home and check my mail. I sooooo want some chili ;0)
I saw my former supervisor in the hallway this morning. He looked handsome in a turtleneck and said hello and how are you doing. He kind of whispered it. I said fine and how was he?? He was heading for a meeting with the new persons that took over the property managment positions. He really is a great guy. Some didn't like him because he was always in their hair but I appreciated his input. I remember when he taught me how to use the cell/radio and he sat in his office and I was in the outer office. He yelled "now , ok.....push the button and say something - don't be afraid"....lol I thought it was so stupid.....he talked me through a fire alarm panal that wouln't reset and was so patient on the phone and said what a great job I did staying calm. He just makes you feel good about yourself........
anyway - I probably should get him a card and tell him how great he is....
da fat n da furious

Im so lazy,,,I went to Safeway and bought a huge sandwich and a couple cans of soup...Come and get dinner! This was my day off and I haven't done anything...seriously I woke late,,,went for my blood work and then did some shopping.
I think Ill go take a nap...lol
Cristi,,,ya like you I want Stephanie and Joe to marry...but that would kinda ruin it. I like the wild thing shes got going on with Ranger too...*grin
Susan...is he single?
I went for a latta at Starbucks this morning,,,love them Vanilla Bean lattas. I feel so decadent when I have a latta in one hand and wander the mall.
Anywho should get doing something...mount washmore perhaps.

Good Morning Everyone! (you're all asleep!!! NO FAIR!)
Sorry I didn't post earlier...I had gotten up and what do you know, I turned around and went back to bed! James told me I was snoring up a storm!! I have to believe him since I've actually startled myself awake a couple of time because of it! :D
Cristi--Yep....watched today in fact! That girl looked fabulous in her "later" weight. I really do hope the rest of her family follows her example, they were all large. (boy I hope that didn't sound rude) That Matt guy (is that his name) sure looked better when he cut his hair. More confident and younger. It's amazing how you feel when you're accomplishing things you've been wanting to accomplish! The episode before that, the guy who was eliminated looked fabulous!! He lost 130lbs!! (or something like that) Amazing. I should pin up all their befores and afters!!
Jane--I'm keeping my fingers crossed that I'll eventually go to days. But if it's only for a little while, I really like it in the reference department. All my stress that I usually have in the other area seems to have vanished. For now anyways. And the girls are so fun to work with! As for thanksgiving....James was telling me all the pies he plans on making: pumpkin, pumpkin cheesecake and custard. We plan on puree-ing the pumpking this weekend since we didn't carve them. So we'll have fresh pumpkin pie from scratch!! MMMM....drooling already!
Angie--You made me laugh about the woman not losing any weight!! And you know, you're probably right. I'm sure she'd eventually lose, but at such a slower rate. If I don't sweat, then I don't feel like I'm doing anything. So I'm always drenched when I'm done w/my workouts.
BTW.....what happen to you getting your ticker up??
Susan--NSV=Non Scale Victory. And I would have to say all those compliments sure had me feeling good. I should go back and ask them if I could hire them all to keep the compliments coming so I could feel that good everyday!!
Sue--Keeping my fingers crossed that you hit the jackpot soon! (plan on sharing w/us if you do right?)
Hello to the rest of you girls!! How are you doing????? Keep us updated!
Well, it's almost 4:00 and I need to get to bed. I'm tired. Even though I shouldn't be, I drank so much coffee today that I was buzzing around everywhere!
Hugs to you all and G'Night!

No, he is very much married Angie - dang- dang- dang. I think he has 4 children 2 young adult daughters, 1 teen boy and a little 4 year old daughter like me. Once I brought Gaby to work in the evening when I was still part time and he offered to take Gaby to a family party so I could work - if I trusted him to do that and I said....that is ok but Gaby was still in diapers. lol
He is very much a Catholic family man.
Mike's mother sent me an email - I think she meant to send to someone else.
PASTE & CUT......
Just heard from Mike - he was just south of Redding on his way to Sacramento - hopes to get other loads once he gets there - wants to stay out longer this time and get extra money. Said he lost his "socks" - literally - evidently not in the same truck he usually drives - doesn't know where they are. He really sounds great. Even his Dad sees a big change in him.
Have talked with Mike several times since our last visit - he gets pretty cranky at times - he was upset over having to wait on his load before he got underway - his mood improve after he got out on the road.
May his light always shine on you!!! Mom
Who is she talking too???? LOL......
hmmmm, so he is working again as a truck driver - good money! Gaby was getting 400 a month on that salary.....I called his old employer and said I was trying to reach Mike _____ and she said yes, he works there but she had never met him.
Geez, Ang....think I can be a PI???? I called child support to make sure they know of his new employer and he is suppose to give me a change of address if he is living in town. Though he probably is still living on the coast.

Good afternoon ladies
Susan~did ya get the check, did ya, did ya? :crossed: I hope you did. And yes, chili does sound good. I think I will cook some Saturday when it is supposed to rain and be chilly. I think your boss would really appreciate the card. He seemed like a GREAT boss and I know it will be hard to see him go.
Angie~soup and sandwiches sound good too! I read two more chapters last night. I am slowly getting it done. And yes, I like Stephanie's relationship with Ranger too! The slut! LOL I like all the characters in the book especially grandma and Lula! They are both crazy!
Marti~send James over here to make some pies when he's done there! The pies sound sooo good! I don't think it is rude to say the family is large...because they all were! But she, Shannon? looked good after and I was glad to see she kept up with it. Yeah, Matt did look handsome after the haircut! I kind of liked the long hair though. I was amazed at how he felt after it. They all have lost so much, very inspiring. I haven't watched all the shows, that was just the second one I caught. Of course I forgot I usually watch Gillmore Girls and missed that!
Well, I better get going, been on this thing too long. I signed in and posted and then went and cooked breakfast. Came back and have been all over this board. Anyway, got my walk in and need to run to the store in a few minutes.
Hi to everyone, hope you all are having a great day!
