Question New to here but not to the diet...

hi Everyone!

I'm so please to have found this board.

Well, to start off, My name is Erica and I was on the plan about 4 years ago. I did lose about 15 pounds and I found the program to be great but I had a major problem with the staff and their sales pitch. I quit going because of being made feel guilty if I didn't have a lose or if I didn't buy into their products. The branch I went to really pushed the supplements. They were also very harsh when I could not make it in one week due to a death in the family.

I actually started to have panic attacks about going into the center and this starting some unhealthy issues with the way I was eating in order to lose the weight.

I did have one wonderful counselor who was very encouraging and a sweetie.

That all being said, I don't think the diet itself is bad but the people who work for it. (well, that branch anyway)

So, now I want to try again but on my own and I already seen some wonderful advice on here. But I'm confused when it comes to the portions on some stuff. Right now the only thing I have is the gold layout (which was what I was on before) .

I do remember about some of the portions:

Protein:
6 oz chicken
1 turkey burger patty
Eggs- I think it was 1 per serving

Veggies
One cup of lettuce
6 baby carrots
that's about what I remember from there

Fruit
I pretty much remember that it was anything on the small size
sm. banana or half
sm apple
10 grapes

Dairy
8 oz skim

Starch
I just remember sm potato or half
1 slice diet bread

Fat is pretty obvious.

I also remember how to do the 2 day take off and am very happy to find a replacement for their Juice.

And the lites which I was pleased to find out that I can replace with lunas which I adore. Yum, they are so good.

So, if anyone can help, I would be forever in your debt. Any ideas appreciated!

Many thanks in advance!!!

Hi Erica: Protein size depends on what color plan your doing. What color plan will you be following? I think the Green, Blue and Gold have the same sizes, but if your Purple or Red, then they are larger. Post your reply here and you will get your answer.

Hugs and welcome. Sy

Hi and thanks for responding!

Well, I think I'm going to be following the gold program since it worked for me before.

Also, does anyone know if a can of tuna counts as 1 serving?

Thanks!

Yes, a 6-oz can of tuna is one protein serving.

6oz of chicken breast, 4oz of beef, pork (lean cuts of course)

Check out the journals on the journal thread and you will get some more of the ideas. and ask away about stuff, I am not near my plan, but I will send you an IM with some of the other portions when I get near it (If i forget, feel free to IM me )

Aww, thanks so much! I can't wait to hit the grocery store and stock up.

I'm sure I'll have some questions about other stuff, since it's been awhile, so thanks for the help!!

All you ladies (and guys) are so wonderful!!
