It's Friday! <cue dance music> :dancer: It's definitely time to celebrate!
I'm going to spend most of today (after I go to the gym) searching for flooring for the kitchen and bathroom. Should be interesting! I just need to make sure I pack my water and lots of snacks, so I don't end up starving while near fast food. ;)
Tonight, if DH is still awake (he got up at 3 to go to work early...he has a big presentation today), we might watch Strictly Ballroom. Don't really have anything major planned for the rest of the weekend.
Hope all is well with you guys! Have a great Friday and an excellent weekend! :D

Evening Laurie :D
Well I am pooped tonight... in a good way! My friend set me some tae bo dvds and I did one today. It was hard but I really enjoyed it. I have also come to discover that I have an intensely difficult time coordinating my arms and legs  Then after the cardio workout I went mountain biking with my daughter and husband... so mamma needs to nap :yikes: I just hope my poor little legs are gonna work in the morning :crossed: :D
I am off to snuggle with my lovies on the couch and watch a movie.. have a great day

Good morning, Chicklets~~ :coffee:
Yes, indeed today is Friday! Whoo-hoo! Dh and I are getting up in the wee smalls and heading for the Southeastern Animal Fiber Fair near Asheville, NC. I get to play for a few hours, then we head to Cherokee so he can throw money at the Natives. (play at the casino). While he's playing, I'll sit in the cafe and either knit or write, depending on my mood and how tired I am.
Longhorn was yummy last night, but my body still hates salad. I ate about half of mine and it sat in my stomach all night like a lead ball, just churning and churning. I felt like I'd turned into a cement mixer!
Marianna, good for you for all the physical activity. I've really been a slug since the food poisoning. Tho, last Saturday dh and I did a lot of walking. We'll do quite a bit tomorrow, as well, but one day a week does not make one fit!
Laurie, hope you have a nice, restful weekend.
Oh, yesterday afternoon we had another episode of "Look What the Cat Dragged In". I came home from work and the cats were chasing a poor little chipmunk around the living room. I managed to throw my scrub jacket over the little guy and get him into my hands, then back outside where he belonged. I thought that was the end of it....
WRONG!!
Came home from dinner and there on the floor was The Crime Scene. Princess Predator had gotten hold of a chipmunk (don't know if it was the same one or not) and ...well, you don't want to know the gory details...let's just say she behaved in a very violent cat-like fashion and left us to clean up the mess.
I'm going to have to keep a log of all the wildlife she's dispatched. Eventually the Dept. of Fish and Game is going to start asking questions.
Hope you all have a wonderful day on the Beach!

Not a lot of time this morning. We're going out for breakfast with our kids, they asked us so we should say NO??? I don't think so.
Yesteday I bought a new printer scanner combo. My old printer was not printing pictures well anymore, but it would print documents OK, so just waited till I thought I could afford a new one. Office Max was having a sale on HP, and had never given a thought to a combo. My scanner still worked well, but bought it in '98, so it could have died tomorrow.
I've been a printing madwoman since DH got it up and working :bravo: He's sure good at things like that. Doesn't like the computer but can hook up about anything. I still had Alaska pictures from '04 that needed printing. Now they're all done.
Cold here this morning, jeans and sweatshirt weather. I'm not complaining, it's lots better than being in FL. Those poor people are going to get hit again. :spin:
Gotta run, DH is up and I need to get dressed and go out for breakfast.
Laurie, I made the changes to the recipe as you requested. I did it in both places. I'll be sure to put anything more on the recipe board with a link, from now on. GrannySmith

GOOD MORNING - GOOD MORNING - GOOD MORNING
... survived another week :)
Big plans for the weekend - We've got crazy social events planned - And then, Next weekend are the halloween parties... Nervous about sticking to the "plan"....
Set up 2 big hikes for the weekend as well... First time hiking since SBD - Hopefully, I'll find some energy (something I've been lacking lately) as well as some hiking pants that fit :o ... And then, with the extra exercise, don't have to be so panicked about eating :cp:
Hope you all have a great weekend :)

Good morning ladies!
I skipped my aerobics class last night. :( I was really looking forward to going. But, when my 4 year old neice called and asked if she could come over, I couldn't say no. I played outside with DS and DN, but I didn't get a good enough workout in. I plan on going for a workout after work today. I really wish I hadn't missed that class. But, for me, spending time with the kids is more important.
Today, I am in my smaller sized jeans and loving it! I hope it will be good motivation to get into the smaller size. This morning in the shower I started thinking about my lack of discipline and how I have put myself in a time crunch for my Thanksgiving goal. I have really got to buckle down if I want to see that happen.
New motivation yesterday. My friend at work that has previously done WW, but fallen off the wagon is asking me a lot questions about SBD. She has checked out my lunches and snacks and is impressed at the food I have been eating. She also said that she has seen the results (meaning my loss and Dh's). When she left yesterday she said she planned on getting the book. (I would loan her mine, but I need to reread it myself.)
Well, gotta get some work done!
I hope everyone is having a sunny day!

Good Morning Chicks,
Well, I weighed in this morning, (drumroll please) :cb: :cb: and 6 of the 7 lbs that I had added were gone whoo hooo! My DH looked at the computer while I was on the scale, and he looked a little shocked, I asked him what was wrong and he said, "6 lbs since Monday?" WOW I'm sure it was water...especially since I hadn't been drinking near enough for a couple of months. That combined with the lack of any carbs.(except for the popcorn on Monday) So, now I have 1 more Lb to lose to get myself back to my pre-falling off the beach towel self.
I'm scheduled for my second fitness test on Monday. I had one in may and it wasn't very good...I'm hoping to improve on it a bit.
Tonight is homecoming, it's been a very busy week, I've hardly seen my kids, they've been busy working on parade floats. If our team wins, we have a chance to make it into the play offs. It's gonna be kinda hard not to want nachos tonight! or a chic-fil-a sandwich or something like that!I've gotta think of something very tasty and satisfying for supper tonight. Any suggestions? on the nights that I worked this week, I've been eating a piece of grilled chicken breast with swiss cheese melted on it, and a plate of raw veggies. the cafeteria in that hospital is awful! There is hardly anything in there I can eat, especially on P1.
Well, I'm gettin hungry, so I guess it's time to go fix my breakfast.
Have a GREAT day Y'all!

Mornin' Chicks! Congrats to all the losers!!! I'm having scale avoidance issues as the past week has been a bad one for me. I've been good the last few days but the sugar and carbs have me bloated and swollen feeling. Today I took a water pill and have had @24 oz of water already. I'm just going to flush this feeling out of me. This morning for b'fast I had scrambled eggs with spinach, ff crm chs, and a little bit of smoked salmon. I had to use it up since its been in my fridge for a while. I know the salmon has tons of salt but I'll just drink alot, plus it was less than an ounce so hopefully it wont be too bad.
It's a cozy rainy morning and I love it. I was supposed to go out the the field to one of my plots but cancelled it due to the rain. This gives me more time to get some stuff done around the house before I head to campus to get some work done. I may make some soup or something for lunch.
Kyemom, I've noticed also that there seem to be lots of newer chicks. I hope the other one's are doing OK and haven't given up on this healthy lifestyle.
Have a great day chicks!!

I've been MIA for a week and have tapped danced off the towel..........So I changed my ticker. Interesting to think over the past two weeks and the spiral out of control experience I've been through.....nothing major, you all deal with this all the time and do very well. TOM, stress at work, stress at the university, things falling apart at home....I hate a messy house! Anyway, after feeling physically and emotionally miserable, I've found my beach towel and decided it was going to have to be bigger...not the tea towel size but the big mamma size so I can be comfortable. Got rid of the junk in the house.....by either throwing it away or inhaling it :ink: :ink: :ink:
Anyhoo, I'm not depressed.....anymore.....and I'm not mad at myself. I'm ready to go!
Beachgal, hope you find the flooring you want. It's scary to get something you KNOW you have to like. You ought to be dancing along with the dancers tonight!
Marianna, tae bo, wow! I'm having a vision of you being a stud muffin! I'm going to check some different dvd's out, I'm needing a boost.
Mamacita, kitty capers are something I can relate to. My two felines think I need to have birds brought to me....ewwww. I'm having a vision of you throwing your scrub top on top of Alvin for the rescue......
GrannySmith, I love getting new electronic equipment, it just seems to get better and better.
prc, sounds like you are doing good one the beach. You have a right to be scared about halloween candy.......it's evil.
djett, congrats on the smaller size! :bravo: (my smaller size jeans are uncomfortably tight right now, but I'm forcing myself to keep them on AND zipped up!)
butterfly, have fun at the zoo. YOu are smart to take your safe food along!
Hollyhock, interesting to read your journal, you are a nurturing person.
kyemom, wow, I read your post and I need a nap! You are so busy. Sounds like you are keeping it together though. When I get busy is when I start falling off the wagon.
Phinsup, YOU LOSER! Way to go! Enjoy homecoming this weekend!
BeachBum, YOU LOSER TOO! You guys are my heros! So you have one grain carb? Do you have any fruit carbs? Once I get done with phase one I always lose it by eating too much fruit. I don't have any willpower yet.
pearshape, I'm a scale avoider this week too! Eek, need to be more accountable to the thing. I'm with you on drinking extra water today.
Schatzi! Wow, good to read you again. Glad you are back from the ill and nearly dead! You perk me up! Have a great weekend.
Barb, I'm thinking you ought to sell your house and just move into a camping wilderness.......you are amazing!
Well, I need to get some sheets into the dryer and act like I'm really going to attack the house, homework, running and maybe even take a nap this afternoon. Everyone have a great day!
