View Full Version : OT: My friends dog

This is very OT, but my friend in Canada has a dog that she is desperate to have win a contest. She has enlisted my help to get a victory. Her dog is named Vicki and is really cute. Vicki is in the running to be the "icon" for a dog biscuit bakery company.

It would mean a lot if you would vote for Vicki. It would just take a few seconds.

Vote for Vicki! (http://www.happydoggie.ca/IconContestants.htm)

Okay, now back to the regularly scheduled programs.

EDIT: They changed the web address on me, but I've updated the link and this should work now!

Scrabble's fans are a bunch of cheaters!!! It wouldn't surprise me if they were posting off topic messages on all kinds of web forums to get people to vote for her.

I voted for Vicki too. I think Rhodesian Ridgebacks are very cute! Not to be a snob because I love ALL animals but Scrabble isn't even really that cute. I'm evil. I know! But, really... I'd never buy a mix like that. Just my opinion!

GO VICKI!

I agree. That is why I know those $%^#@ are cheating. Scrabble is just not pooch icon material.

I've voted for Vicki too and she's still in the lead.

Scrabble is one goofy looking dog. Goldiepoo? Sounds like a sneaky way to charge $600 for the puppies that weren't exactly planned for. And I can say that because we bought a Cockapoo. Even when you've got "papers" for the parents a mutt is still a mutt. LOL.

Oh, the pups were planned for...Goldiepoo, Labradoodles....The new "designer dogs" are basically mutts with a high price tag. Who knows, in 50 years they may be the dachshunds of the dog world. You can't look at some recognized long-standing breeds and not see the deformities purposely bred into 'em.

how about a goldiepooador or a bullpooazhitoo? These combinations are getting weird.

There is a nothing wrong with mutts, but designer mutts are a bit much.

We bought a Cockapoo - one of the designer mutts with a high price tag. It was the first time in my life that I've paid for a pet. We've always adopted (or rescued from the side of the road). I understand cross breeding with the intent of offspring that have the best attributes of each parent but, I'm with Matt, it is starting to get out of hand. One glance through the classifieds of any newspaper and it is obvious that there are a lot of backyard breeders jumping on the bandwagon hoping to cash in.

I'm a mutt girl myself

Our doggie is a Blue heeler/rotti/mastiff and he's just lovely...really smart, although somewhat neurotic!

We didn't pay megabucks for him...adopted him from the SPCA. We're definitely not a designer dog kind of family :)

I noticed this morning that the page is down right now. My hunch is that those rotten :censored: Scabble supporters hacked into the web page. They are probably right now giving that ugly pooch more votes.

Its not fair and it is un-American. This is especially troubling because it is a Canadian competition.

I thought I would bring this back up to the top...because I'm silly like that.

Plus, Vicki has lost her lead right during the crucial crunch time.

I'm determined to do everything I can to prevent a injustice. Vicki deserves this.
