Hi girls,

How cool that we're on #60 already! It is rather quiet in here this week....hmmmm.....I know Terri's on vacation, but what about everyone else?

Joyce, where are you? Busy in your garden? I'm still waiting patiently for something to harvest! So far I've only been able to use some herbs. Can't wait for those tomatoes!

Essie, how's it going? Got your mail, and am going to check it out. Everything and anything can help right now! :)

Today was my first weigh in, I'm down 1.25 pounds. :) Yesterday was not great, so that loss came at a good time. One day at a time has got to be my new motto.

Dianne, Myra, Zoe,

Have a great day,
~Jen

Weighed in yesterday and I lost that pound I gained last week! Now to work on the rest of those pesky pounds. I am determined to continue to be a loser.

Myra, good going on the pound. Bouncing right back is the way to do it.

I'm determined to stay focused, am making 80 oz. of water my goal for today.

Hi everyone

I'm still around but have been really busy with work, yard & the garden. By the time the day ends I just want to go to bed or take some quiet time and read.

I had a gain at two meetings for a total of 1.8 and then I lost 1.8 last week so I am hanging in there. I've been journaling and trying really hard to stay OP. Need to work on exercise & water. I used to walk from our house to the main road which is a 1.25 mi round trip. But ever since the snake incident I have not gone walking. My dh & I have walking sticks for when we go to Colorado so maybe I'll just take my stick and go anyway. :s:

I have read everyone's post but I'm so far behind I don't think I have time to respond to all. Sorry... I'll try to check in with you all more often. Hope everyone is doing okay.

Have a great day!

Hi!
We just spent the last 4 days in Covington, Kentucky. We went to the zoo, Aquarium, the Cincinnati Reds baseball game, and spent every evening in the pool. It has been nice. We had the most spectacular view of riverboats and skylines. It was beautiful.
We are at my sister's, inColumbus, Ohio, right now. Tomorrow is the Backstreet Boys concert. My sister gave Britts the tickets today. It was so much fun watching her. I can't wait to go myself.
Sat. we will be off again to my mom's for my nephew's grad. party.
Then Sunday off to the Pittsburgh Pirates Baseball game. Mostly to see their new stadium, they are not doing too well. :(

Jen and Myra,
Congrats on losing those pounds. YAY!

Patti,
You will get re-committed. You will see. Those pounds will be off in no time.

As for me. I have been pretty good. The one downfall was for the three mornings we had at the Embassy Suites they had (included with the room) a breakfast with made to order omelets,
sausages, bacon, potatoes, danish, etc... Not paying made it easy to eat. But I did pretty well considering.

Well, I'll talk to y'all tomorrow. I love having access to my sister's PC. I will use Bruce's laptop at my mom's house.

Hi Everybody:D

I've been over at eDiets trying to get familiar with the website. I'm still following WW. I need all the support I can get so I decided to join for 3 mths for $10 a month. With WW 3 mths comes out to $144  I got tired of paying just to weigh-in. I can do that at home. I'll go back in January 2002.

Terri, happy to hear you're having a good time. BSB concert:eek: do you have tylenol? Say:wave: to Brittany.

Joyce, you maintained so that's not so bad. At least you lost what you gained & you're journaling. I always see the successful people always with journal. Keep it up ;)

Jen, I haven't forgotten about you My Friend. Just been a little busy this past week. Congrats on your loss. That's what I say, "take one day at a time". I have to. I don't think about yesterday or tomorrow. I stay with the present.

I'm going to my brother's 40th birthday party today. I'll be back tomorrow to let you know how WELL I did.

Myra, you can do it, you can do it, you can do it!!! :)

Hi Dianne & Patti
Have a great day!

Ladies, it's been a great week! I am on day #6 of being focused again although I haven't gotten my water in the last day and a half, but I'll be better. I couldn't stay away from the scale and it is lookin' good.....(I won't tell until Monday....hehehe) I have to admit that it hasn't been all that hard to stay on track this week but then, I never have a hard time in the "beginning".

I can't stay but will be back later. I hope that you's guys are having a wonderful Saturday and staying OP.

Love to you all, Patti ~ Soaking up the "SON" in Texas

Hey everyone

Essie - I'm going to a 40th birthday party today also - supposed to be a barbecue, but rain again! It's my son-in-law's 40th and my granddaughter's 11th. Right now I'm cooking arroz con gandules with olives, capers, pimientos and I'm throwing in some salchicha to boot! That's my contribution to the party. My step-daughter and her family love my rice!

Hi, Jen, Terri (BSB's mom), joyce, myra and Anita (hope I didn't forget anyone). Have a great weekend everyone and Jen, like I've said before "one day at a time" is the only way I can take it, lol. (one day, good, one day, bad.........just kidding)!

Talk to you all soon.

I just heard of a supplement that is supposed to help stress-related eating, which is my downfall. It is called 5-HTP. It is herb-based (from griffonia) and it breaks down the amino acid tryptophan to convert it to serotonin. It also works as an antidepressant and helps with insomnia. I started taking it last night. I'll let you know how it goes.

Hi girls!

Sounds like you're having a good time, Terri. How was the concert? I said, how was the concert? LOL.....am thinking that perhaps your ears may still be ringing! Hope you both had fun.

Dianne, that rice sounds awesome, can I come over to eat? Hope the party was fun despite the rain.

It seems that you're doing great with the program, Patti. Waiting to hear what that scale said! Keep up the good work.

Essie, hope your party was fun. I am in total agreement with you about spending the money at WW. I simply can't bring myself to do that. I know things will "click" for you.

Joyce, good to hear from you! You had a great loss, hang in there! Can't say that I blame you about the walking. When are you going to Colorado? I've never been there, hear it's beautiful.

I love the phrases used at Dotti's site...."no regrets", no looking back, etc. I've had two days that ended up being not so great, but I'm slowly learning to put that behind me and look forward to a fresh new day.

We're going to a huge flea market today (as soon as Joe wakes up LOL ), will get in lots of walking. It's just the two of us all day today, so it'll be easy to stay strictly OP and flush away some of the "bad" stuff from the last two days.

I feel confident that I'll post a loss on Wednesday. I'm actually looking forward to a good OP day.

Have a good one!

Hi:wave:

Dianne, you sound like a typical PR  I've made arroz con gandules with salchichas too. My husband loves it!! If I throw some sunny side up eggs on top, he's in heaven. Hope you had a good time at the birthday party. My brother's turned out nice. He was really surprised. I got the best compliment ever. One of my brother's friends asked me if my son David was my husband. I cracked up because of the look on his face. It was so funny!!! I had a big smile:D I had a good time. It was an early party, from 2-7:00 cause my SIL rented a hall.

Jen, we really can't look back. There's nothing we can do about yesterday but we can do something about today. My sister-in-law's, sister-in-law lost 64 lbs on WW. We always see eachother around the holidays & birthdays & each time she looks thinner. She must have around 30 more to go. After I see her I feel so inspired. I asked her if she's bored with it & she said no. We can do this. We have to have the right mindset.

Myra, that supplement sounds pretty good. I don't have insomnia but the way Pete snores I sure fell like an insomniac:lol: (sp?)

Patti, can't wait to hear about your weight loss! Do you have a digital scale? I'm thinking on buying one.

Hi Terri & Joyce:wave:

Love,
Essie

Hi everyone! Hope everyone had a great weekend.

Essie - I would love a compliment like that. A checker at the store the other day asked for my ID when I purchased alcohol. Of course she knew I was at least 22  (just kidding). But I thanked her profusely & told her I appreciated the gesture.

Jen - How was the flea market? There are two nearby and Charles & I were just talking of going to one. - Thanks for the encouragement with staying OP. - We have not been to Colorado in 4 years. No plans anytime soon. I'd go every year if we could afford it. It is beautiful. We also like to take our boat & go fishing at nearby lakes for recreation. This will have to do until we can get back to CO.

Myra - Let me know how you feel on the 5 HTP. I am on my last week of antidepressants (been weaning off under doctor care for 3 months) I told my husband I actually think I am feeling better the lower I get on dosages. We'll see.

Patti - Great going girl. I know how it goes.. I can get two really good weeks under my belt then I cheat and fall in a rut. :( But it really helps me when I journal and stay focused. Good luck!!!!

Hello to all  & hope everyone is doing well.

Hi Ladies  ~ another Monday gone, thank goodness. I hate Mondays. I weighed in today and lost 3 pounds. I know that sounds like a good thing and believe me, I really am happy about it but around Thursday, I had gotten on the scale and had lost 6 pounds. I wasn't "great" over the weekend but I suppose, being good all week and then somewhat bad on the weekend can be ok if I lose some. I'm still pleased with it.

Jen ~ how did the flea market go? I used to go to them all the time but haven't been in so long. You've given me the bug now so I'll have to get to one here next weekend. :)

Essie ~ Yes, I do have a digital scale, thank goodness because I don't know what I'd do without those half pounds.

Joyce ~ Yup, a great week and then BAM! a bad Saturday and Sunday. I managed to lose 3 pounds but it really should have been more.

Hi Dianne and Myra ~ hope I didn't miss anyone. If I did, I am so sorry. I'm in a hurry as usual. Have a great Monday night.

Hi Guys.
The concert was great! Crystal and Shaggy were there too. Man, I love Shaggy. Britts was so excited. We went to a Pitts. Pirates Game yesterday. They have a beautiful 23 million $ stadium. It was gorgeous. We still have 1 week left. We have so much more to do. I am going to be exausted. But it is fun. :) I was reading all of your messages and congrats to all of you.
Talk to you all later.

Zoe,

Three pounds is absolutely wonderful. You should be glowing. That is the problem when you weigh yourself too often. I try to only weigh myself the day of my WI, just to prepare myself a bit, but I know sometimes it is irresistable to weigh myself more.

Tomorrow is my WI. I think I did well despite all of the stress. I'll let you know how it went.

Hello!

Zoe, 3 pounds is great. I understand that it would have been 6 but hey "you play you pay". I always tell myself that. Now it's different when we know we've been OP 24/7 & exercised & we gain or stay the same, now that is a big disappointment! I don't mean to sound harsh but I've been there many times. I blow it then I get mad at myself but all in all when I think back of the cookies I wasn't suppose to have or the frozen yogurt at 8:00 pm I ate when I was already over my points I then see it was my own fault. Yesterday is behind you. Forget about what you did Sat. & think about how good you're going to be TODAY. One Day at a Time. ;) I still think you did great :D

Terri:wave: I like Shaggy too. What a great concert!! How were the seats? I wish I was on vacation:( I took a personal day off today because my sister was suppose to go to court but her atty had it adjourned. She waited till the last minute to join Rehab. Anyway, we miss you. Have lots of fun this week.

Joyce, great compliment;) My oldest sister always lies about her age & I don't understand why cause she doesn't look it. She looks much younger but she takes off 5 yrs. I would never lie. I wouldn't feel right.

Jen, you have all of us wanting to go to a flea market. I have one really close by. On holidays it gets packed! Pete loves going there:lol:

Okay ladies, have a great OP day.

Love,
Essie

Zoe, Great Loss! :D Put the previous 6 lb. figure out of your mind...that wasn't your "official" weigh in anyhow, was it? I don't have a problem with weighing in often, once a week is enough for me! My SIL used to get up in the middle of the night to weigh herself, she was so anxious for losses! Keep up the good work.

Terri, sounds like you're having a good time. I've gotta confess.....I don't know who Shaggy is. Hope the rest of your trip is just as much fun.

Essie, I think it's funny how everyone responded to the flea market mention. We try to go two or three times each summer. It's about 20 minutes away, and we get in a good walk when we go! This week we walked for 3 hours. Hope you enjoyed your day off since you didn't have to go to court.

Joyce, how cool that you were carded! You must look great; was hubby with you when it happened? Last time that happened to me I was out to dinner w/my daughter and her husband. They couldn't believe the waitress carded me, she was about the same age as me. Hasn't happened lately, tho!

Myra, how did your weigh in go? You've kept up with journalling very well; I'm confident you'll have a loss. I've resumed journalling as of today.....can't let these weekends get the best of me.

Well, it's cool to see the colors of Zoe's posts, thought I'd try it, but quite frankly it's too much of a hassle! LOL

Lots of gardening to do today. I hate weeding, but love the flower beds. We're hosting Matthew's 1st birthday party here on Saturday, so I want the yard to look it's best. Rain is in the forecast, a good friend of mine swears that if you hang a rosary in the yard the day of the party, it won't rain. It's worth a try!

Have a great OP day, everyone! HI to Dianne!

Hello my buds

Essie - LOL - poor David - there can be nothing worse than someone thinking you are your mother's husband, :o Great compliment for you though! It's funny how I love to cook spanish food, since I'm 1/2 Irish and 1/2 Puerto Rican and was raised with my Irish grandmother, who, believe me, did NOT cook spanish food, lol. But I had lots of puerto rican friends and loved to eat at their houses - their moms thought they had an extra kid:D When I got married, I had my mother-in-law teach me how to make rice, pernil, etc.
Glad to hear your sister has entered rehab, that's a huge step in the right direction. I hope it works out for her, and she's lucky to have you to support her.

Jen - I'm with you, girl - have no idea who shaggy is, :smug: Wow, the baby is going to be 1 already, holy moly! I remember when I first came here, you saying the baby was 4 mos. old. How quickly time flies. I hope he has a great birthday party!

Zoe/Patti - congrats on the 3 lbs, that's great. Forget the 6lbs and like Essie says "you play, you pay", lol. Good job, girl!

Terri - Sounds like you guys are having a really great time -- hope the rest of your week goes well.

Hi to Joyce and Myra and Anita (where are you Anita? - come say hi).

Have a great day everyone.

Hello Buddies;)

Dianne, I remembered you saying you were 1/2 Irish but it sounds like you cook better than alot PR's. Alot of women I know hate to cook!! They think I'm crazy for cooking everyday since it's just me & Pete. I really don't mind. I like cooking. Been doing it since I was 9 yrs. old. You crack me up with the Zoe/Patti thing. Remember we thought it was 2 people! LOL. We love you Zoe ;)

Shaggy!!! Come on guys. He sings It Wasn't Me. The guy that got caught with the girl next door & he sings/says It Wasn't Me. I know you know who it is.

Jen, your SIL really got up in the middle of night to weigh herself? Geez I thought I was bad. Way to go with the 3 hr. walk. I'm going walking in a little while. I'll get a tan at the same time cause it's hot outside. It's a beautiful day. I never heard of the rosary hanging outside. LOL My Mom useto come out with things like that. Like if you open an umbrella in the house it brings bad luck. Or put your broom facing up & you won't get company:lol: She useto make me laugh alot. I miss her. The colors do look cool but like you said WHAT A HASSLE!! Does look nice though.

Okay Ladies, let me get ready for my walk.

Be back later:wave:

I did ask my son, who's always got his stereo going , but he says he doesn't listen to that type of music, so I've never heard it.

I'm jealous of both of you, Dianne and Essie, knowing how to make those fabulous PR dishes.......yum. You must be great cooks. (Can you tell I LOVE food? lol)

Dianne, yes, that's him. I couldn't believe the words when I first heard it and you have these little kids singing it. My Dad would have washed my mouth out with soap!

Jen, my sister, who got herself in trouble:rolleyes: cooks spanish food all the time. She cooks with too much salt. Other than that she's a great cook.

I went for my walk so I'm feeling good :D It was so hot!!! I usually like to walk for 1 hr. but I only lasted 40 minutes. The heat was giving me a headache. I think tomorrow I'll go to the gym instead.

Let me go check out what's happening at eDiets. I don't know anybody there. It's not like you guys, we've become buddies.

It's weigh-in Wednesday.......I lost 1.25 pounds :) which is the same amount as last week. 2.5 total so far, and many more to go!

I've got busy days ahead of me; I'm watching the boys till Saturday, which is the day of Matt's party. Jess asked me to make some of the dishes (even tho her Dad and I told her we would pay for catering) cause she wants my homemade potato salad (don't even want to think about those points  ) and baked beans. Between the cooking and the mayhem that accompanies the boys when they're here, I'll be lucky if I can get to the computer.

Have a good day everyone!

Hello my buddies

Congrats on your loss Jen - good job. Gosh, you are certainly going to have your hands full with the boys and cooking for the party :dizzy: There's a great line from Steel Magnolias, where someone asks "how is sammy doing" and Dolly Parton says "Annelle has him so crazy, he don't know whether to wind his butt or scratch his watch", Hope that won't be you by the time Saturday gets here, lol.

Essie - I keep getting e-mails at work about e-diets and how you can lose 10 lbs. by the following month, etc. Are you now trying that and if so, are you having any luck with it. They say you get personal help, etc. is that true? Tell me about it, please.

Hi:wave:

Jen, good job! You're close to 3 lbs. Is there any reason why you picked the middle of the week for your weigh-in day? I'm switching mine to Sundays now that I'm doing it At Home. I feel Sundays & Mondays I can start fresh. I get tired just thinking about how busy you're going to be!

Myra, good luck tonight;)

Dianne, ediets is a great website. You get everything for a low price. There is a group there that follows WW & uses them for support since they don't go to meetings. It's pretty cool. I need to spend more time there. Two of my co-workers are following their plan & are losing. They love it. I stayed the same this week. Too funny with the Steel Magnolias line. LOL

Hi Zoe, Joyce & Terri.

Have a good evening everybody :D

Hi everyone,

Dianne, too funny about the line from Steel Magnolias! I can sure relate to that. I love that movie, love Tom Skerritt (sp?) in it too.

Essie, I couldn't decide which day I wanted to weigh in, just wanted it to be a weekday...so I asked Joe to pick a day without telling him why. It was actually kind of funny....he got this look of fear on his face, wanted to know why? He thought I was planning some project for him, or something! :D After I reassured him it had nothing to do with him, he said Wednesday, so that was that. I find that mid-week does work for me; when I have a loss on Wed., it motivates me for the upcoming weekend, and those are my biggest challenges.

Now I've got to admit that yesterday I couldn't get anough sweets....why is it that I don't get a craving for fruit? Why does it have to be ice cream? At any rate, it's behind me now! Today I feel good about the choices I'm making.

I've got to run, Matt just crawled in here ( my son is keeping an eye on the boys while I check my mail) ; Matt has been up since 5  I'm going to see if I can get him to take his morning nap now.

 HI to Myra (how was weigh in?), Terri, Joyce, Zoe.

Yes, Jen - Tom Skerritt - I love him too, my hubby doesn't get it when I say I think there's something really sexy about Tom Skerritt, ;) I guess I go for the silent type, but he was funny in Steel Magnolias.

Congrats Myra on your loss - great job!

Hi :)

Myra, that's great. I'm an emotional eater myself. Ever since I found out how high my cholesterol is I've cut back but I have to have my evening frozen yogurt or light ice cream. Way to go Girlfriend:)

Jen, I'm the same way when it comes to sweets. When someone tells me to have fruit they just don't understand. That doesn't cut it!

Dianne, we're posting at the same time:wave:
