(To coin a good old English word) BLIMEY! I go away for a few days and this is what happens! Thank you all so much - I am truly touched!

It has taken me a long time to get to the stage where I have finally got out of the yo yo cycle and have shifted a significant amount of weight. I'd say the most important thing in achieving this has been a 100% commitment to exercise. It was hard at first but now I absolutely love it and usually have to force myself to have a day off from the gym once a week! I love the physical benefits of exercise, the fact that my metabolism is now high after years of being sluggish, the way my shape is changing - but more than any of that I love how it is helping me to manage my depression. Alot of you know how I have suffered from serious depression for years - I am by no means cured but daily hard exercise really gets my sluggish brain firing and leaves me with a real sense of well being. If I never lost any more weight, I would keep up my gym regime for this reason alone!

I've hit a bit of a bump in the road recently and my eating has been wobbly to say the least - I've not gained because of all the exercise, but I haven't lost for quite a few weeks. All your well wishes will help me to get back on track!

You guys have just made my day!

P.S - I am afraid that there will be no Caribbean wedding and no silver bikini - I've called off my engagement. It's all very recent and I will share more further down the line.

Love Amanda x

Amanda,

Sorry to hear about your engagement. Let us know more if and when you are ready. I wanted to say that I totally know what you mean about the effects of exercise irregardless of weight loss. I am going through a difficult time and if it weren't for the gym...things would be a lot grimmer. Hope it helps you now. DCM
