WELCOME to the Jaded Ladies site.

We're a friendly group that provides support in our weight loss journey, and we also share the ups and downs of our daily lives. Please feel free to join us. :)

I got in my 30mins of gazelling....(is that word? :D ) My distance was over 2miles. Not too shabby. Feeling good. Next week I'm pairing up w/a gal at work to work out in the gym. And I'm also going to try and drag one of the guys we work with in there too.

Angie--SO happy for you and the weight loss!! Keep it up! You're doing fantastic!

Jane--Sorry to hear about your satellite. Why does it have to be on the roof? At our other house we lived up in the hills so we had to get a satellite....and they perched it on the side of the house.......would that work?

Cristi--I should have given you my list of errands to do. I haven't left my house at all today and won't until I leave for work. :) How is the walking coming along?? I think of you when I drag my gazelle out. I think: "Well Cristi's out there in the weather walking!! I can at least do the gazelle in my house!"

Alrighty, I better finish getting my hair done. It's growing out and it's a pain in my puh-tooty to make it look decent.

Chat w/ya later!

Good morning ladies,
Jane, we had satelite and got rid of it just recently. And being that our house is tall and narrow with steep roofing we have it attached at the side. Monte tried to do it himself and ended up dropping the dish from the highest part of the house,,,hmmm ya well that didn't go over very well. didn't help that I was standing there watching,,,panicing.
The snacky things are a problem...and I need to be more diligent on not buying and eating them. Im eating more apples,,,crunch crunch.

Cristi, well that many miles isn't too bad I guess but I live,,6 minutes away from I love Target,,,I spent alot of money there last weekend.
thanks for giving me directions to the tracker...

Marti, thats fantastic that you gazelle for 2 that a proper sentence? lol Monte said he will bring the gazelle up for us to use. And with the radio can get in a session.

Well I got my hair cut,,,and its short. I must of got about 5-6 inches cut off GGGASP
Im back to my nature dark brown hair color,,,with some funky reds peeking out here and there...

well I should get to work
have a great day ladies...

Good Afternoon

Totally craving beans. Hopeless cause - going to Wendys for a large chili in a second.
Wanted to say hello!! Had a headache again with my assistant, so that has taken up all my free time. She will be written up now -

Girls and I are enjoying homelife - oh joy. Rach is such a messy little creature!! I go in there at night and clean.

Work is great. Have not weighed in weeks - clothes still fit though.

Have a "date" tomorrow with a co worker. The same one that I was in the Rose Festival with and worked with for 6 months. We don't work together now but see each other at trainings. Anyway - weary of this whole dating thing but he has asked several times and might as well just get it over with. lol

I better get - just wanted to pop in and say hello!!!!!! Gazelle?? I know it is an exercise thing but what does it look like? Like a rowing thing?

ahhhhh - beans call , chat later :)

10-07-2005, 05:54 PM
Quick today as I have to leave early!!

Angie--Have you figured out your track thing yet??? About my gazelle....I use it in front of the tv. Yesterday I was watching "little house on the prairie" nothing like working out and crying!

Susan--Beans!! Well go get some and make sure you don't do too much tootin'!! :D

Going to the pumpking patch tomorrow if it's not pouring out. Want to get a couple of pumpkins for the front porch. And that's about as much decorating that I will do.

Ahh....I need to clean up and get out of here. I will catch up later!

10-07-2005, 06:03 PM
omg!! I HAVE to go to the pumpkin patch too!! It closes at the end of November, I think. I guess I can take the girls on the 15th?

I don't toot Marti. Beans just flush right through me - haha. The chili was wonderful!! Plus a JR hamburger........need some water now.

Hi everyone!

It's been a few days since I've been on, but thanks (belatedly) for the warm welcome. Been down with a nasty migraine for almost 3 days now. Luckily I had today off (since I work tomorrow) so I've just been resting. I really could use all the support and prayers right now as my daughter (23) just found out she has cervical cancer. Luckily there are just a few cells that they will "blast" and hopefully that will take care of things. Unfortunately they can't do the procedure until Nov. 18 so the wait will be nerve racking.
Hubby has been doing OK this week. Bought a storage building for his "stuff" but having trouble finding someone to assemble it. 2 of his sons-in-law were going to, but then backed out. His kids can be a real pain sometimes!
I haven't even really tried the weight loss thing this week but will get back on track next week. I'm almost through with the SMART Technique program and I think they have helped a little in my attitude about food but so far no weight loss.
Hope everyone has a great weekend!

Hiya ladies!

Marti - I'm just about ready to pull out my Gazelle, too. I just hate all the sad news on the TVs at the Y! One tragedy after another, and I just can't take it! I try to just listen to my music and avoid the TVs, but that's easier said than done.

Angie - I can't bring chips and cookies in the house at all, except for the few types I don't like. When I get a real bad craving for chips, I buy one of those 30 bags and eat them one chip at a time, savoring each one fully, lol. Yay for the new 'do! A new hair style brings about a new attitude, right?? Like you aren't already sassy enough, lol.

Susan - mmmmm, chili from Wendy's is soooo good! Wish I had some right about now. It's not bad on points, either, thanks to the fiber. Sorry your assistant is being a big pain in the butt. So where are you and your "date" going tomorrow night? Wherever it is, I hope you have fun and that you share details.

Connie - good to hear from you again! So many come and go, I thought we'd lost you, friend! So sorry about your DD!! Are they doing cryosurgery, or something more invasive? Nov. 18th sounds like an awfully long time to wait for that!

Well, I went running around with my sister Maggie today. She went to the Veteran's Office and found out that she's going to get $993. per month from them since Jerry died from prostate cancer, and was in VietNam during the whole Agent Orange ordeal. Now, with her SS benefits, she won't have to find a job. YAY!!

I'm having a retirement party for Neal next month, so have been working on the plans for that, which is right up my ally since I love planning parties.

Have a good one, ladies!

hello, I am new to this forum. I want to talk to any member that is on weight watchers program core.

10-07-2005, 10:20 PM
Hi Elda and welcome to the Jaded Ladies site. Katy and I have both done WW Core, without much success. The unlimited healthy foods were a stumbling block for both of us, lol. However, I've had lots of success with WW flex points and Katy has had lots of success with portion control in general. Angie is doing very well with her first 2 weeks on WW, counting points.

We'd love to have you stay around so we can all get to know one another, but if you're looking strictly for WW Core conversation, you might want to check out that part of the boards. Good luck to you, whichever path you choose. :)

Good evening ...
Welcome Elda, like Jane said there are a couple people here who have tried the core,,,and a few of us on the flex points. Which I love. Im a big girl, and my biggest worry of dieting is being hungry,,nothing worse then a hungry big girl. This makes me decide if Im going to eat ALOT of healthy low points food or a lil bit of high points foods. Not saying I choose right but I still have more control.

Brandon got some good news today,,,I had called this casting agent for Tanner and this commercial. Found out that infact they wanted older teen boys. Mentioned I had this huge teenager and she got excited. Went over did the audition and they called earlier to say he got the job. Filming on Wed. Hes making 350. for someone who wasn't planning,,,kinda funny.
The only downer is its for a company in Sask. Next province over,,,so we won't get to see it here.
I think I did the tracker,,,tried this morning then ran off to work. Im exhausted,,,work is great but Im running in two directions at all times. They are loading me up in both dept... plus I joined the christmas party committee. Im in charge of entertainment,,,,Think I found the right clown,,hypnosis, magic comedian. Plus he owns a one stop shop type company,,,DJ services,,fortune tellers, and caricatures (drawing funny pics of people) Im hoping the company can afford it.
Today had everyone doing the double take on my hair...funny thing is the dark brown is my natural color and they are all amazed by my change in look. I just needed a change I guess.
Well Im gonna go finish my book...

must of did something wrong with that tracker (

10-08-2005, 11:38 AM
Good morning!

Well, I managed to clean up the front yard and one side yard. Still need to work on the back yard and we have a really big hedge on the other side yard that needs a haircut. It has been a rainy week, so my motivation for doing this stuff is really low.

I have been going to enough exercise classes that I finally broke down and bought a three-month pass. It was cheaper than paying with the punch card. After all the mess with my shoulder and back last year, it feels liberating to be able to do all the cardio and lift all the wieghts. I still get a little stiff, but can do it all.

Susan - hope you had a great date. As long as it didn't involve scooping poop, I'm sure it was lovely ( this WAS that guy, right)

Angie - looks like the ticker worked. I have a love/hate thing going with my ticker. It lies to me half the time.....

Jane - Good news about your sister...I agree with you about the news, btw. TV news just seems to repeat the same horrible stuff over and over again all day long. I handle it all much better by reading the paper and checking out the internet. I bet gazelling to Oprah is a much happier experience!

Cristi - thanks for the cute e-card...made me smile. I love the fall, as both my babies are fall babies. It is a busy time for us every year, but a fun one.

Speaking of which, DS wants a birthday party at Chuck E Cheese this year, so I need to go see what the deal is. Hope they have some info online. DD is getting a special afternoon seeing the Lion King on she's already taken care of.

Hi to everyone else!

10-08-2005, 04:45 PM

Just wanted to pop in real quick to say "Hello"

Jhanai & I are heading out to the Pumpkin Patch today. It's cloudy, but I don't think it'll rain. Who knows though. We'll have fun no matter what.

I will try to pop in later!

have a great day

Hi everyone!

Jane - I think the dr. is doing cryosurgery. My daughter needed it to be done on a Fri. after work so she doesn't have to take time off and Nov. 18 is the 1st Fri. available. The factory where she works is so strict about time off, they get "points" for every day they're off, even for surgery or with a dr. excuse. After 8 points in a year they're fired. Really tough bosses! Hopefully they have a cancellation and she will get in sooner.

Just got home from work & starting supper. Looks like I'll be taking care of my granddaughter, Chloe, for a few hours so Mom can go out with some friends. I know we'll have to go out to the pond to feed the fish, she loves to do that!
Hubby has had some troubles yesterday and today with words & forgetting their meanings. One more thing to tell his dr.
Time to go, just wanted to say "hi" to everyone!

Hi ladies!

:goodscale 1.9 lbs gone this week, really only 17.5 lbs total, not 18 yet, but can't figure out how to make the tracker thingy do tenths of a pound... Tim has lost over 20 lbs now, even after all the Guinness he drank in Ireland!

Speaking of which, I have some of my trip pics on Yahoo now if anyone wants to see them, there are a lot more and I'll put them up soon:

Have fun at the Pumpkin Patch Marti! We will probably go up to Apple Hill next weekend, get cider and pumpkins for Halloween. Maybe one donut. And maybe one piece of fudge. OK, two. :lol3:

RosieKate, I love fall too -- this is my favorite season :) Ah, Chuck E Cheese, I remember those days... :mouse: :cheese: :jeno:

Angie, WTG! Sounds like WW is working well for you, too... And congrats to Brandon on the commercial :cp:

Susan, Wendy's chili is great, and Jane's right, it's really pretty healthy as far as fast food goes. That whole stupid thing that happened with the woman who lied about finding the finger in it really made me mad, because even after it was made public that she lied, I still had a hard time enjoying it, just the idea, bleah. But finally getting over that, and I'm glad, 'cause I missed it -- one of my fave fast food meals. :T How did the date-that-wasn't-really-a-date go?

Welcome Elda! My husband and I are doing WW together -- we looked at core and liked the freedom, but didn't think we'd have the discipline to make it work. Also, we go out to eat a lot, and it seems like core would be hard to do at restaurants, since almost no recipes have **only** core foods. But I know there are folks who are having success with that plan. How long have you been doing it?

Hi Connie, nice to meet you, too...what is the SMART technique? For some reason, that made me think of Professor Harold Hill's "think system" to teach kids how to play band instruments in the Music Man  There are a few of us here who are prone to migraines, yuk, no fun :headache: And sorry to hear about your daughter, but they've made great advances in treating cervical cancer if caught early -- she will be in our thoughts and prayers that the treatment goes well and is successful.

Wow Cristi, all your walking walking walking is an inspiration to get moving! I could up my WW points by increasing my activity. Tim got memberships to the gym for us, but that was kind of stalled because of the problems with my knee and my arm. The physical therapist for my knee gave me the ok to do anything at the gym that doesn't hurt, but my arm is still messed up pretty bad. I could do stationary bike and swimming now, though. Workman's comp sent me to a hand surgeon, and he wants to test me for nerve damage in my right arm, which involves needles and electric shocks, happy happy joy joy :fr: So we are just waiting for the insurance to approve the test -- I hope they approve it fast, because I want to hurry up and get it over with, it's supposed to be rather unpleasant. :stress: :tired:

Jane, do you have a Trader Joe's near where you live? I get Rye Toasts and Baked Pita Chips there that are 2 pts per serving -- and are perfect for that hot artichoke dip I posted in the recipe thread. I'm thinking of where I want to vote for in the meeting thread. SF is beautiful, only about 2 hours drive for me, and tons to do -- I could play tour guide, you guys would love the Legion of Honor art museum, or the Bay Cruise is fun, Biscuits and Blues is a fun place for dinner...but lodging, parking, and driving in SF is pretty bad. Parking is a fortune, and hard to find. When we went over Memorial Day weekend, we stayed in Santa Clara at suites near Great America. I could probably swing Oregon for a long weekend, but Vegas would be a blast, too, and they always have cheap deals for round trip tix. I'd probably have to bring Tim with me if I went to Sin City, though, or he'd be really jealous  Another option besides Vegas, would be Reno -- good travel/lodging deals there too, and Lake Tahoe is a short drive away and just gorgeous! We could do a sailboat cruise on the lake, that's a blast...

OK, gotta clean the kitchen and tackle some more laundry. Hope you guys enjoy the pics of Eire. We want to retire there! :lucky:

10-09-2005, 11:59 AM
Good Sunday morning, ladies!

Cristi - thank you for the autumn e-card! Happy autumn to you, too, friend.

Angie - YAY for Brandon getting the part. :cp: What a coup! I also like being on party committees. That's why I always get involved in fellowship stuff at church, lol. Give the evangelism stuff to someone else, and show me the door to the party, lol. I'd love to see a pic of your hair. Sounds cute!

Katy - good for you going for the 3 month signup at the gym! We used to go to CEC and I was a demon for a game where you roll a wooden ball up an enclosed lane... what the heck it the name of it?? Anyway, I woud get all focused and tune out everything else to make those points and get those tickets, lol. I haven't seen Lion King on stage, but my Katie has, and I hear the performance is breathtaking.

Connie - I had cryosurgery for pre-cancerous conditions of the uterus a long time ago - 1982. Back then they said it was effective for 10 years, so I can only imagine the progress they've made by now. So sorry to hear about your DH's failing health. Wish I could help you in some way. Bet you had fun at the pond with Chloe. (We have a beagle with that name, btw. ) Sometimes when I feel down, I seek out my grandkids and it never, ever fails that I feel so much better after being with one of them.

Katiecat - I haven't looked at your photos yet, but I will next time I go online. With my connection, I can only do so much during one sign-on, without clearing my history. YAY to you for the 1.9 more pounds down!! :cp: 17.5 pounds is comparable to 70 sticks of butter!! WOW!! About the meetup, I'm thinking we'd take taxis or walk to wherever we go. If we stay at a place close to something fun, we could walk. And taxi fees split a few ways isn't expensive at all. Just a thought.

Marti - hope you're enjoying the weekend. Do you get tomorrow off, too?

Hello to all the JLs and anyone reading this.

Neal and I went to sister Mary Lou and Leroys campsite last night after dinner. We really had a good time and although we reeked of smoke later, the fire was mesmerizing!

Today is Caylin's birthday party. Can't believe it's been 2 years already! Once again, there will be a boughten cake so it won't be a problem for me to avoid it. I'm doing very well with the food, and not so bad with exercise. Water is never a problem for me - I crave it if I don't get enough.

Hope you ladies have a relaxing Sunday!

10-09-2005, 03:24 PM
Hello gals!!

Ok...catch up time!

Connie--Prayers to you and your family!! Cervical Cancer is so scary! You will be in my thoughts. Lots of hugs your way!! ((((HUGS))))

Jane--Did you get your gazelle out?? I have NO excuses to not use it. It has become my friend again (who knew I missed the friendship we had developed! :) ) Watching news at the gym while working out is NOT very motivational. It gets me emotional and I get weepy. And I hate to cry when I'm working out. (although watching Little House on the Prairie didn't do me any good either....cried then too)

Elda--Welcome!! I don't do WW, but I've seen and heard so many success stories. I have family members who are succeeding so well on it. I do hope you decide to stay and join us. We'd love to have you!

Angie--Hurray for Brandon!! That's great news! Sorry you wont' be able to see it. But is there any way that you can get a tape? (and then send it to all of us so we can peak?) got the ticker down, but you need to put it in your siggy rather than in your post otherwise you'll have to keep on pasting. So get it down again and then get into your siggy and paste it in there.

Katy--Great that you got a three month pass!! I know the feeling of "liberation" when working out. I've only been on my gazelle so far, but I have to tell ya, I'm loving it. I enjoy the sweat! And I have plans of my own to join a class at the gym at work. A body sculpting class. Just gotta find out the time it is so it doesn't interfere w/work. Whatever class I join....I'm going to just do it! I MUST do it. I love feeling good.

Katie--I LOVE your vacation photos!! Ireland is BEAUTIFUL!! I'm so jealous! And you my friend, are a very pretty woman! So glad to put a face to your name!! Congratulations on more weight loss!! You're doing a wonderful job! And so is Tim.

Well yesterday Jhanai & I had fun at the pumpkin patch. In fact we went to two since they're next to each other. So many people w/their families. It was great. It was cloudy the whole time and it didn't start raining until AFTER we left! Timing was perfect. We bought tons of veggies, lots of gourds, squash and about 6 pumpkins (all pretty small), just LOTS of stuff, and it all cost under $20. I was pretty pleased!

Ok, taking Jhanai to town to do some errands. I will chat w/you all later!

10-09-2005, 06:08 PM
Hello ladies

Just a quickie for me because for some reason my computer is as slow as Christmas! Not sure why so will try and catch up with everyone tomorrow. I did manage to post on the exercise thread and change my weight tracker. Had to go back to ticker factory because of that 1/2 pound thing. Wonder why 3fc doesn't do the 1/2 pound? I actually liked the little chick better. Anyway...

Hope everyone is enjoying what is left of the weekend! See ya later

10-09-2005, 08:59 PM
Katiecat - OMG!! The photos are great! Makes me want to go to Ireland so badly now. You are a very pretty woman, and I especially like your curly hair. Like Marti says, it's nice to put a face with a name. "Fess up - I bet you really did drink all the beer, even though the caption in the photo says differently, lol. :D

Thank you so much for sharing, Katie.

10-09-2005, 09:05 PM
Hi all
I chimed in on the meeting place thread... but now after looking at Katie's pictures, I vote for Ireland, lol! Katie, those pictures are great! You and your DH are a very attractive couple - congrats on the weight loss success for you both.

Today was busy...went to church then out to Portland Nursery for their annual apple tasting - yum! bought a bunch of apples. My faves are ambrosia and honeycrisp. Then I took the kids costume shopping. Not too terrible this year. Leigh is going to be a princess, natch, and James went for a Yugi costume (its some card thingy- kind of like Pokemon from what I can tell)They both look great and I'm glad that part is done - Party City is a scary place this time of year - I don't just mean the costumes, heh heh

Enjoy what's left of your weekends

Good Morning -

:fr: :fr: :fr: It is official............I have gained!!!!! 163......lovely number, back where I started 18 odd months ago. I put on my capris this past weekend and I looked plump.

I was sitting on the couch last nigth eating a peppermint patty and sucking on a cherry slurpee when Rach said " you look sad" I feel so depressed and fat. So, I got on the scale this morning after taking a 6 week vacation from reality and was somewhat surprised it only said 163. I think I last looked at 153 - so at least 10 pounds in 6 weeks. *SIGH*..........

Totally going to get a treadmill this paycheck and start getting back in shape!!

I am pumped, I am motivated.......ugh, pissed off at myself!

So, the water cooler gossip is false. I am not pregnant........I am just potato chip freindly. lol

I didn't meet up with Pooper Scooper co worker this weekend. We chatted a few times. I am not overly excited about it. Really kind of just focusing on my job and kids.

The girls and I had fun. I let Beck color her hair to cover up her blonde streaks. Upset with one of her teachers for talking about her in a negative way with her fathers ex girlfriend. She called and was nasty about Beck living with me and how this teacher was in at the Subway shop saying he was worried about her - blah - blah.
So, the principal talked with him and he said that was true. Jerk - he has no right talking out in the general public about my kids.

Anyway - I better get! Tons to do........

Katie -

Forgot to say - great pictures!!! You look Irish :) Thanks for sharing!! :)

Good Morning Ladies~

Went for my morning walk at the park. I am so glad the weather is cooling off, so nice.

Angie~your threw me when you posted Happy Thanksgiving! I forget sometimes that you are in Canada. HAPPY THANKSGIVING to you and yours! That is GREAT news about Brandon! And I like your new avatar and yes you did the weight tracker right.

Katiecat~BEAUTIFUL pictures! I too vote for Ireland now! And yes, it is nice to finally put a face to the name. You and Tim are a GREAT looking couple! I hope you hear something soon from the insurance. The surgery sounds painful, but if it will help you in the long run it will be well worth the pain. :bravo: on your loss this week, or actually last week. You and Tim both are doing an awesome job!

Connie~(((((HUGS))))) to you. Will be keeping your family in my thoughts and prayers.

Susan~I think I would be having a talk with the principal and whoever is talking. And I know you will get back down where you were weight wise. It does creep up there though when you don't pay attention doesn't it. We are here for ya, just remember that. Sorry, you didn't make the date.

Katy~WTG on getting the 3 month pass! Oooooo, Chuck E. their pizza! They have one here, just haven't been to it. Keep telling DD we are going to have to go one day and be kids. I too love that bowling game whatever it's called!

Marti~my walks are coming along just fine. Just haven't been talking much about it. Just went to the park this morning and did 3 miles. The weather was perfect! It was cloudy and a little cool but perfect walking weather. WTG on getting reaquainted with your old friend the gazelle!

WELCOME Elda! I'm not doing WW so can't tell you anything about Core. I actually did it for a while and have some cookbooks and do cook from them, just don't count points or anything. But right now my focus has been more on walking and drinking my water. Amazingly enough the weight is coming off. Hope to hear more from you.

Jane~glad you had a nice Sunday. Hope Caylin's BD is fun for everyone! A very :hb: HAPPY 2nd BIRTHDAY to her! :hb:

Well, Saturday was the last day of my six week walking adventure and I am happy to say that I am down 5.5 pounds since starting the WATP book! I changed my tracker yesterday and I am at the same today. Also, I measured before I started and have lost .5 in. in my upper arm, 1.5 inches in my chest, 1 in. in my waist and for some reason my thigh is the same. I did notice a couple fo weeks ago that my pants are a bit loose so I am happy about that. It's not the end of my walking though. I am going to make a workout chart and will be walking at the park 3 days a week, M-W-F and on T-T I am going to do the exercise bike, weights and do one of the WATP videos to mix it up a bit. It is equal to walking but she adds some extra stuff in there so it is a different work-out. I won't be walking on the weekend, I don't think. I say that because I got used to walking the 6 days and I think it will be odd not getting up early to go walk on Saturday so we will see what happens. Anyway, debating over whether I should mow the back yard or not. It is supposed to rain this evening, tomorrow and Wednesday and the yard doesn't really need it. It has been a few days and by the time the rain is done it will be out of control! So not sure if I will attempt to or not. Need to get a load of laundry started and vacuum and that is about all that is on my agenda for the day.

Hope everyone has a great day today and a wonderful week! Take care ladies.

10-10-2005, 02:20 PM
Wonderful on the 5 pounds Cristi!! Very motivating to hear and gives me encouragement- thanks! :) :)

I spoke with the principall and took in a letter of scorn in to her on Friday. - I was asking that he apologize to Becky with her present - if not she needs to be taken out of his class. Also, another teacher told her when she didn't have a book to look at "why do you even bother coming to school??" - made her feel bad. Stupid teachers - would love to yank them out of that school but I do think the principal is good.

best get - again CONGRATS on the 5 pounds !! :)

10-10-2005, 04:48 PM
Back again...

Finished everything so thought I would look up a few things before Jeopardy.

Susan~thanks! :thanks: Good for you for talking to the principal. Oh, I so don't like teachers who are purposely mean to the kids. Carrie had a teacher like that and all it took was one conversation and she left her alone. There's no need for a teacher to act that way towards a student and especially because of not having a book! I think for the most part the teachers are good though, just every now and then there's a bad one here and there. Hope Becky realizes it is not her but the teacher.

Anyway, better get going to look up those things, just have a few minutes left.

Have a good one ladies!

Rebecca is a doll ,she needs someone to speak up for her Cristi. I told the principal that I wasn't happy with her just speaking with the teacher. He really owes her an apology at the very least.

Speaking of Trader Joe's I went there on my lunch break and bought some carrot sticks, cherry tomatoes, banana's , apples for lunch.

The sad thing is it is a block away and I drove to the store - lol. Anyway, all in good time - besides it was kind of raining.

Good afternoon, ladies!

Angie - a very Happy Thanksgiving to you! Why do you have to work on Thanksgiving? We have white pumpkins available around here, and I think they're creepy, unless decorated. Even then the faces look kinda like Michael Jackson, lol. Btw, will you be sure to vote and comment on the meeting thread? It just wouldn't be the same without you there!

Susan - good for you sticking up for your kids, Susan. :cp: About the 10 pounds, at least that's all it is, and it won't take you too long to get it back off. Recently gained weight is SO MUCH easier to lose than the stuff that's attached itself like concrete, lol. Why didn't you want to go out with PS? Just no vibes?

Cristi - YAY for the 5.5 pound loss! You are well on your way, Cristi, and I admire your dedication to exercise!

I've been doing laundry today, and sorting through my winter/summer things. Although I know we'll still have some warm days, I want to get the bulk of my summer things out of the closet.

It's dreary here, and kinda cold. A good soup day if I ever saw one. :)

Hope you have a great day!

I have no vibs - lol .

I don't see a connection off hand. He has no special joy for kids and he smokes. I also am busy with the kids and the job - though it "might" be fun to go out with someone and it "might" not.
I guess I am picky with my time *sigh*.

He is nice though and very sweet from what I hear from others in the company. So, he has a good rep.

I am aiming for Christmas to get back down - figure that is plenty of time - if not sooner.

Thanks :) mmmmm, squash sounds good.....acorn.....maybe for dinner with low fat cottage cheese?? yum...........

Afternoon Ladies!!

Well I just got of my gazelle. I did a 40mins workout. Made sure I had sweat pouring off my face!! :D I feel good. I plan on doing some crunches and squats too before I take a shower. I'm so enjoying getting this body of mine back into shape!

I've avoided the scale for months now.....I think I may take a peak at what it says in the morning. I just know I've gained!! We'll see just how much tomorrow!

Katy--The annual apple tasting sounds like fun and yummy too!! Jhanai & I really enjoyed our trip the the farms this year. We didn't do it last year and I felt so bad. But we made up for it this year.

Angie--One of the pumpkins we got was a white one. Jhanai just had to have it. She also picked a bunch of gourds so she could do a center piece for my dining room table. It's a cute little center piece! Happy Thanksgiving to you!! I forgot that you had Thanksgiving in October. Here we are prepping for Halloween and you're enjoying yummy dinners!! Oh! don't forget to put your tracker in your siggy!

Susan--Don't even worry about the little gain you have. You'll lose it in know time. I'm very happy to hear that you stood up for your girl! Sometimes I wonder why adults don't think before they speak! Don't they realize that it affects the child in so many ways?? What a great mother you are!!

Cristi--CONGRATULATIONS on losing 5lbs!! You're doing a marvelous job!! I'm so proud of you! And your in onederland!! Wonderful, wonderful, wonderful!!! What an inspiration you are!! Keep up the great work! We'll be cheering for you the entire time!

Jane--Our weather here is a typical Fall day. And I love it. Nice and cool w/the sun shining through my window. I was wanting to ride my bike on the bike trail, but my tires are completely flat!! James will be home tomorrow so I will have him air them up for me so I can add riding to my exercise routine.

Ok...I need to take my mugglies out for a pee break then I'm hauling out the exercise ball to do some crunches and then some squats against the wall. If any of you have the ball and hate to do squats....using the ball up against the wall helps a lot! And boy do you feel it!!

Here's to getting in shape!

Good day ladies,
Susan,,,don't blame you for not wanting to date someone who smokes and doesn't care for kids.
10 lbs loss in 2.5 months,,,sounds like a good plan.
And so what did the principal say to this? I have a VP who ticked me off so bad once that to this day he probably still shudders when he hears my name. The guy was a total nut case.

Jane, I haven't voted cause I don't care where we go,,,checked the cost and its teh same.
The order desk is always open during the holidays except christmas day, new years day and good friday. We have recently started only having to work every second one. I get the next holiday off.

Cristi that is so awesome,,,you must feel more motivated to keep walking.

Well I promised Tan we would go the cheap theatre and see Batman. Monte and I went and saw MR. and Mrs. Smith,,,hilarous laughed so much.

You know, Ive been here and at different places in this site..and never once have I had any kind of reply to anything Ive ever said...not even maybe something about my weight. And its not that I wanted any kind of notice but....a welcome would have been I guess I'll just go on my way...Be happy

The things that are whirling through my head right now...hmmmm

Was watching the tv show I could of been on Taking It Off...I coulda done better...*snicker I am kidding. I don't think I would of been happy being in a bathing suit infront of a camera...Yikes!
Anyways Tan and I watched it and by the tiem the credits were rolling we were struggling up the stairs with the gazelle. So hes taking his turn watching tv...Im killing 20 mintues till its mine. We saw Batman,,,it was good,,,not my thing but Tan and I had a bonding time. Brandon's wardrobe person saying that! Anyways Brandon's wardrobe person called to ask what sizes Brandon wears so they can have his wardrobe ready. I think Im more impressed with but heck Im so easily impressed.
Ive got 3 loads of laundry to fold...figure I will fall into the pile after the gazelle workout then fold...something soft to break my fall ya know.

I'm sorry you feel so neglected!! We sure didn't intend to make you feel unwelcomed. I had to go and look where you had posted! There have been many who have come and gone w/just posting in the bio thread and sometimes they are overlooked. My apologies to you.

I really do hope you'll reconsider and join us here on the chitchat thread. This area is the place where we do all our yapping, and w/some of us having a hard time getting pages loaded on our computer, the chitchat thread is the first and only spot we go to.

So I hope you'll accept our apologies and do know that you are MORE than welcome to join us. We'd all love to hear more from you and get to know you better. Would you reconsider????

10-11-2005, 11:45 AM
Along with Marti I offer apologies to Janet. Looking closer I don't think I have offered welcomes to Linda, Connie, or Cheryl, so sorry!

:welcome3: :welcome3: :welcome3:

Chit Chat is the only thread I make a point to go with my limited time and figure if I can just manage a hello I am doing good. I really only talk about myself :dz: :dz: - lol

ok,.........I need to go. Tons to do today. Have water, carrot sticks, and tomatoes to munch on.

Wishing you all a great Tuesday!!

Angie -

I forgot you!!! :) I mean 23 pounds by Christmas because I want to be down to 140. 10 pounds is what I have gained in the last 6 weeks.
I think I can do it or at least get close - feeling so depressed about it.

HUGS and hope to see you soon with the JL meeting - wherever it is going to be. If it is in Las Vegas we can gamble :) - if we can sneak past curfew with Ma Jane - lol

chat later :)

A very good morning ladies~

Janet~DITTO what Marti said! You are most surely WELCOME here! We don't usually post on the BIO thread. But once in a while someone will check it and tell the newbies welcome and to come on over to the WEIGHT LOSS & CHIT CHAT thread where we do most of our chatting. And if we don't check it, we don't know you were here. But we are a friendly bunch of ladies and welcome everyone! Hopefully you will reconsider.

Marti~WTG on getting that work-out! I do have one of those balls but for the life of me don't know where it's at. Haven't seen it since we moved! Like you, I need to get my bike down. V bought me this bike for Christmas about 3 years ago while we were in the country and I had no where to ride it. Now I do and it's hanging on the wall in the garage. He forgot to get it down for me last week-I'll have to remember today when he gets home. But how do you do squats up against the wall?

Jane~I have been meaning to get to my closet for a couple of weeks now and just haven't done it yet. When I change over the clothes there will be lots going to the goodwill! I told V last night that I have to keep that rule in mind-If you haven't worn it in the last year, get rid of it! That would be half of my closet! I have a hard time getting rid of clothes. I also need to finish Josh's closet. I think in the back of my head I know he won't be home till December so I keep thinking I have plenty of time, LOL.

Angie~hey, I didn't know you had a Gazelle too! I'm thinking I may need to get one. I think Wal-Mart has one pretty cheap-just don't know where I would put it. We have the extra bedroom that we made an exercise room but between the weights and the treadmill that takes up most of the space. It's one of those weight systems, can't think of what they are called but it's pretty big. I could probably fit a Gazelle in the corner and move the exercise bike though, just alittle bit of rearraning. The exercise room is where I will be on Tuesdays and Thursdays now.

Susan~maybe you and the guy can just be pals and go places, not really a date. Don't think I could go out with anyone that doesn't want anything to do with children though. That's kind of hard and then a smoker...mmmmm. I think 23 pounds by Christmas is very doable. I would love to see that myself. But right now I am happy with a pound a week. Just trying not to focus on losing weight but getting healthy. I think it goes hand in hand though. But it seems everytime I focus on trying to lose I mess up and just can't seem to do it. So I am just focusing on the exercise, and water. Have actually been doing good with the water. Anyway, just don't think of the big picture and you won't get depressed and if you do-we are here for you! :grouphug:

Anyway, THANK YOU ladies for the support, encouragement, congrats, etc. :thanks: And whoever (think it was Marti??) that said it makes me want to lose more is so right. When I stepped on those scales and it said 199.5 I almost died!! Was wondering if I would ever get under 200! Such a great feeling to feel like I am actually getting somewhere with this weight loss. It's slow but I will take it any way it comes off!! And I actually look forward to my walks/exercise every day. Losing just that little bit has really made me conscious about what I eat now too.

Not much on the agenda today so maybe I will attempt to clean a closet! Need to get a couple of loads of laundry done and that's about it. It rained last night and early this morning so doing the WATP 2 Mile video was a good thing. Also, rode my stationary bike for 15 mns. and did a little bit of weight lifting. Not much on the arms because the left one is at it again, started last night. The ice pack helped some as did the tylenol but not much. Anywho...need to get the roast in the crock pot also so better get going ladies. Want to check out a couple of things online also before I get off this thing.

Take care everyone and have a great day! :flow1:

Hiya ladies,

Susan - I know what you mean about finding someone who can love your kids. Or at least like them! When I found Neal, it was great to have someone who knew it was a package deal, and that it was fine with him. Oh sweetie, please rethink trying to lose so much by Christmas!! Christmas is only about 10 - 11 weeks away, so losing 10 - 15 pounds total would be healthier than trying to lose 23. And btw, Ma Jane won't have any curfews for anyone no matter where we meet up, lol.

Marti - I've been gazelling, too. 30 minutes a day, going faster during a show, and slower on the commercials. I have to say, though, that I really like the treadmill better, but the gazelle is a whole lot more convenient, and I don't have to listen to the news like I do at the Y.

Angie - who stars in Mr & Mrs Smith? Sounds familiar.... So is Christmas your next holiday? About the meet up, when would you be able to for sure go? Do we need to start a thread for that, too?

Janet - :welcome: So sorry you got overlooked. There is just no excuse for it, and I heartily appologize. As the others have said, please just jump in.

Cristi - I'm so happy for you, being in Onederland!! If I had a ticker, I think I'd list my highest weight as the starting point, since you had already lost some. Just a thought. Btw, I'm using the crock pot today, too. BBQ chicken breasts. Then I'll fix a tossed salad, some wild rice, and baby carrots to go with it. Have you tried the 3 cheese Ranch Lite Done Right salad dressing? Mmmmm, good! Anothr thing that I've been having once in awhile is fresh apples, sliced and cooked with Spenda and cinnamon. Great for fall weather.

I almost didn't post because there's nothing new to tell, lol. I ran some errands, and that's about it. Need to clean, but don't wanna, lol. Other than that, same ol', same ol'. Have a great day, ladies!

Afternoon Ladies--

Well finally got on the dreaded scale. Up three pounds. Not as bad as I thought, but it's still a gain. So going to really work on that. I think I'll try and WI twice a month. I don't like doing it every week.

Workout w/a girl at work last night. We went on our lunch break. I walked the treadmill for 25mins. My legs were sore already from working out earlier!!

Angie--Holy Moly....dragging the gazelle up the stairs?? Heck I struggle just setting it up a few inches from where it's at!! How wonderful that you got some son/mom bonding in. I love those days. And I try to take advantage w/spending lots of time w/Jhanai....soon she'll be too busy for me! :(

Janet--I really hope we see you again! Would really love to hear from ya. Please stop in and tell us more about you.

Susan--I'm wanting to lose at least 10lbs by Christmas. A total of 25 by my anniversary. Think I can do it?

Cristi--If you have your Eball, take it to a wall that is flat (hard to find in my house that doesn't have crap on it!) lean up against it. Then just roll the ball down into a squat, to where you're in a sitting position. Then roll yourself back up. I think it helps keep the back in a better position, since I for one, have an issue of leaning when I squat. So it's really a good tool for me to do squats. (I only do 10 for now, 'cause I can REALLY feel it!)

Jane--Comparing the treadmill workout I had at work and with the gazelle workout at home....I like being able to switch my speed w/out having to push buttons. That's what I like about the gazelle. The treadmill....I love to get the incline difference....So....if I ever get rich...I want to buy a treadmill......because then I would have a bigger house to put it in!! :D

Ok...James is in the living room working out...I need to hop on the gazelle. Really motivated right now and I don't want the motivation to slip out of my hands!! I've got goals!!

Chat w/you all later!

10-11-2005, 05:38 PM
Ok, I will go with 13 pounds by Christmas.......I just want to get out of the 160's........

Yes, Marti!!! You CAN do it!!!! Bob the Builder says you can :) Your anniversary is in March? I forget, sorry. My size 0 co worker wants to lose 10 by Nov 12th. What a nut - lol

I looked on Wendys site and a large chili is only 320 cal. I don't know the fat content but am surprised at the lo cal of the chili. Course I like it with onion and the cheese w/ 2 crackers. So, maybe 400 tops?

Can I lose weight with just a serving of chili per day?? Maybe cereal in the morning and the rest in veggies & fruit??? Toot, toot......

Jane - no curfew??? dang......sneaking out is the fun part :) co worker and the horse lady he works for doesn't even allow kids in the barn. I could never take Gaby out there to see the horses and she loves horses. Rocky would have adored being Gaby's father figure but that would have never worked out. Though I know he loves me still.

best get! So tired of carrots.

We should get a thread called If I was RICH.
Cause if I was rich and had a bigger house I would have an awesome weight room,,,eleptic trainer,,,can't say it Id have that,,,and a bike,,,treadmill. AND important,,,WHIRLPOOL...and of course HANZ the massage therapist. If your gonna live,,,live big!

So the commercial was cancelled cause they changed their minds on the ages of the actors,,,they went younger. And here I was calling for Tanner and they overlooked him with this change. But the good thing is Brandon still gets paid.

Work was well work,,, I was offered a temp. job in the recept cause they are going to drop me...ya it doesn't make sense to me either. They want me to drop the call centre,,,and focus on the recept. area. But I told them why would I apply for a temp job when Im permenent now? They are willing to hire someone to temp for me in the call centre,,,someone who makes more money then me per hour...I so no logic here.

I learned something last night,,wear shoes while it felt like those massagers,,,but I don't like those Feet were numb after.

I cleaned the pantry and found a wok. Brand new,,,don't even remember where or when I got it,,,it was great since I bought stir fry veggies from Costco the other day.

Well I should get to rehearsal...have a good night ladies.

10-12-2005, 12:01 PM
If I was rich I would live on a farm w/ roosters and chickens.

Good Morning!! Had some left over rice w/ veggies for breakfast and a Venti coffee.

Tough night with the girls who wanted to chat on the phone all night. They didn't fold the laundry like they promised so it is all wrinkled.

Had to iron a dress for the Gabster. Who btw spent the night at Doug's . When I went to pick her up yesterday at 5 pm they were sleeping - slept 14/15 hours - sheesh..........when was the last time any of you did that?? She must have been tired.

So, how long is the poll open?? Can we have a tie vote if no one breaks it?? Enquiring minds wanna know.

My former boss is so funny - enjoy emailing him all day - he cracks me up. Yesterday he came slidding into my chair ( he does that - like a rag doll) and I started laughing.I think he finds this place anal like me. We had more fun in the Tower. Anyway- better go....

ps - I am down 3 pounds - though think that has to do with retaining or some dang thing. Though I have suffered with carrots for 3 days - starting to look like a wabbit -

10-12-2005, 01:39 PM
Good Morning All;
Thank you for the kind words...but, not here to dwell on it. Are you guys all on different diets...or the same diet or what...I've sorta(?) been following Jorge Cruise, his diet seems to be fairly good, and he said you really dont have to exercise but with exercises you will lose faster and you will firm up your body so all in all, its much better to exercise..The hardest part for me is eating every three hours. Sad to say, I want to eat after 2 hours.
The weather here is lousy....rainy and such but it is fall and snow will be falling next. They say that our leaves will hit their peak next week here in Southwestern PA but thats because of no rain these past summer months. Dont know how thats gonna affect the color of the leaves...just have to wait and see.
For those that dont know...My first name is Janet, married to Paul. This past Sunday was our 17th wedding anniversary. I have 4 kids by my first husband and he has one by his first wife, but, truly, we arent a combined family. All the kids had left home by the time we got married.
I am 63 yrs old, drive a school van for the handicapped kids, and my husband goes with me. He takes care of the hard to handle kids, cause its hard doing that and driving too. Guess we are like a team even working.
Thats all for now....More later....

 my weight as of Oct 3rd...189
:^: my weight as of Oct 9th...182

Hello Ladies

Hope everyone is having an awesome day so far. I started my day off with my walk. Think I over did it with the weights yesterday. I did the 2 mile WATP video, then some weight training, 20 mns. on the bike, not sure why but a fast 5 mn. walk on the treadmill and then more weight training. And man do I feel it today. With the video alone it is a 30 mn. work-out and she adds arms to it so I was feeling it from thta already. With my arms being bad it feels sooooo good to lift the weights at the time I'm lifting but it's later on that I regret it. I just pushed it too far yesterday and won't do that again, not till I get used to it again. Even my legs felt sore. Anyway, still got in a 3 mile walk this morning.

Janet~WELCOME and good to see you decided to join us! I myself am not following any specific program at themoment. That may change in a little while. I did follow WW and did well with it so am thinking about rejoining. At the moment though, my focus is mainly on exercising and drinking my water. I have such a hard time with the water but it is getting easier. I know I have to drink so some days I just force it down. I followed the WATP book that she (Leslie Sansone) calls a walking diet. I did that for six weeks and am continuing with the exercise but only walking 3 days a week and then doing her video, exercise bike and some weight training 2 days a week.

Jane~I may take your advice and do a weight tracker with my highest weight and ultimate goal. Funny you should mention it because I went to do it yesterday, actually did do one. Just decided not to add it to my signature. BBQ chicken sounds good but we had that Monday! The roast yesterday was good. I had planned on making mashed potatoes with it but at the last minute decided to throw some baby carrots in the crock pot along with some peas and potatoes. Haven't tried the ranch dressing. Have to say I am not a fan of ranch dressing but not sure why because I don't know if I have ever tried it. I just may have to try it, it does sound good. As do the apples! I do like apples and feel like I need something sweet once in a while. Hey, how was Caylin's BD party? Can't remember if you mentioned it or not.

Susan~:bravo: for the 3 pounds! I think you could have your Wendy's chili every day and still lose weight. Especially if you have tons of veggies and fruit through out the day. And 13 pounds sounds more doable than 23 of course I am thinking in terms of how I lose which is very slow! :snail: LOL WOW 14-15 hours of sleep!! :yikes: They must have been very tired! I know that one weekend that I came down with something I was in bed almost the whole weekend but didn't actually sleep the whole time.

Marti~I've been weighing once a week for so long I think it would be weird to miss a week. Even when I was gaining I still weighed so that I could keep on top of it and to make sure I didn't gain too much. Hey, 3 pounds isn't bad at all-you'll have that off in no time at all, and then some. Glad you made it to the gym at work. Don't over do it though. I haven't actually tried a gazelle yet so don't know what parts of the body it works on. Is it like skiing? Anyway, you are doing GREAT!! Keep up the good work. Doing a squat with the ball sounds easy to find the ball. I think I saw it in the garage a little while back.

Angie~ah, sorry to hear about Brandon and the commercial. At least he is going to get paid. You know I hear about companies doing goofy things like that all the time. Especially at V's job. These bright engineers with all their degrees get these bright ideas once in a while to save time or costs and it makes no sense at all. They started shipping work to Mexico a while back to save money and here they are losing money because the parts get here and are not right so they have to send them back which costs to have them shipped back and forth not to mention the time being wasted because the guys can't do anything without the parts-but they do get paid for standing around doing nothing. And it goes on and would not believe the stupid things this company does and I am sure it's not the only place that does it. I do hope you don't lose your job though. But if they are going to get rid of you maybe the temporary job would work till you found something permanent. It doesn't make sense what they are doing.

Hi to everyone else

Not much on the agenda for today. Like Jane, there are a lot of days there really is nothing going on with me and I almost don't post. But then I come to read what eveyrone else is doing and end up posting. I really don't do anything interesting to talk about but enjoy reading what is going on with you ladies. Anyway, did my walk and then grocery shopping. I'm home for the day. Need to do a couple of loads of laundry and am going to wash my car later. It needs it, inside and out. Will probably wash Josh's truck also. Had planned on mowing the front yard but it really doesn't need it. That will give me something to do tomorrow. I am definitely going to get a start on Josh's closet too. I have put that off too long and I know it won't take very long. Just a matter of folding some things and hanging other stuff so not sure why I haven't gotten it done. Next week I will do mine, or possibly this weekend. Anywhoooooo...

Take care ladies and have a wonderful Wednesday!

10-12-2005, 05:01 PM
Hello gals!!

Well I have to say that I'm feeling the aches in my legs today!! But thats ok. I'm psyching myself up to get on the gazelle.

Having James home yesterday to work out with was very nice. After doing the gazelle for half an hour, I worked on crunches and squats. And then I used the resistance bands for arm exercises.

I also went to the gym during my lunch break at work. I decided to lift some small weights to work on my biceps. Did a few different moves, then had some time left and got on the elliptical machine for 5 mins. I thought my body was going to go to sleep!! But I woke up w/lots of energy this morning so I suppose it was worth it!

Cristi--Hurray that you got your 3miles in this morning even though your sore! Very proud of you! And all your work is showing!! Just be careful when lifting w/your arm!! Don't want you to reinjur yourself!

Janet--We're all on different diets or programs or whatever you want to call it. I don't follow anything in particular...just really trying to watch my portions while eating and getting in the exercises that my body really needs.
How wonderful that your husband goes w/you when you ride the bus! It must be nice to have him near when your working. I miss working w/my husband....
Happy that you decided to join us!! Very happy to have you here!

Susan--I don't think the poll is closing anytime soon. Have you decided where you would like to meet?? I've talked to James about it all and I will post it on the "Poll" thread once I'm done here.
So 10lbs by Christmas for me and 13 for you. I think we can do it, as long as we work hard for it!! If I don't, I'm not going to cry about it. I'm a SLOW loser.....I'll take whatever I can get!

Angie--You did the gazelle w/no shoes?! I find myself slipping and sliding more w/out shoes! I need to buy a wok. I've wanted one for so long. I used to have an electric one, but it was no good. Every things stuck!! I think I should go buy one at the Asian store they have in Eugene. They have lots of great things I would love to buy. Maybe I'll add a wok to James "to get" list for Christmas. (he loves to cook)

Hello to all the other gals out there.

Well I HAVE to get on my gazelle before I talk myself out of it. And I don't want to do that. I have goals.

I gotta keep saying that....maybe stick it in my siggy. :dizzy:

I have goals.

10-12-2005, 07:48 PM

UGH- how long do we have to wait for the poll to close??? lol I totally have my bags packed and want to go somewhere. I did vote. Can I vote again?? - lol I just want to go somewhere.

Better get. My assistant is being a pain again. She was late (again) I asked to do something at 1:30 and by 3:00 I was pulling stuff out of her hands saying........"go do it!" I need it done for a meeting tomorrow.

k- back to work

10-12-2005, 08:12 PM
Hello ladies!

Marti - Yay for all your hard work on exercising. One thing about the treadmill, it's much harder to walk a mile on it than a mile outside, so the workout must be better. As you said, the gazelle is good for varying the speed w/o buttons, as I do during commercials, lol. Saw what you wrote at the poll. YAY that you'll be joining us, if we end up in Vegas. I think 1 complete day is all I'll be there, too. If we fly in on a Friday night, that would give us Saturday, and then go back home Sunday. Guess it's time for me to start a "When" thread now, lol.

Susan - did you ever officially vote? Seems like everyone is willing to go to Vegas. The poll will close after the active JLs have all voted, which should be about anytime now. The fiber in the chili is good for you. Keeps things movin', iykwim. Surely you aren't thinking of having only one meal a day! If I did that, my insulin level would dip so low I'd be on the floor, lol. Hey, I'm not rich, but I live on a farm, and we had chickens until something ate them. No, it wasn't us, lol. Probably a weasel, Neal says.

Angie - when I'm rich enough, I'm gonna hire Hanz away from you, lol. Will you get to draw unemployment checks when your job is over? If so, you might want to rethink the part-time receptionist job. Maybe that's why they're offering it?

Janet - YAY for the 7# down! I do WW and love it. It's so flexible, and this is the first time in my life that I've lost weight eating exactly the same foods as my family. Just not the same portions, lol. I don't bring junk food into the house, though. Btw, you're welcome to vote in the meet-up poll. By the time we get together next June, you'll be firmly settled as a Jaded Lady, lol.

Cristi - I had my signature/avatar option turned off to help me load pages quicker, then turned it back on to see Angie's avatar, and noticed your signature. Now it's back off, so I don't know if you added the pounds to your loss or not, but I hope you did. You lost the weight, so you might as well count that success, imho. Caylin's party was so fun! Dale's mom and I neither one ate anything, so we sat and talked. Then the kids all went outside to try out a new 2-seater toy car Terry brought over. It's one of those battery powered ones, and the kids had a blast!

Like Cristi, I always get weighed every week, except when we moved, and the scale wasn't calibrated, those few weeks was the first time I skipped in a very long time. But I was in such a funk about the house and everything, I just didn't care about it. I'm in a good place mentally again, and really, really like the feeling of self-control.

Madison and I went to the orchard today. Bought some very crisp golden delicious apples, then went to each of my sisters' homes to share. The people at the orchard let Madi and me see the back room, which was very nice, and had lots of windows, and we saw the apples come up on a converyor belt, in water. Cool! The guys there packed our 1/2 bushel, and it was fun.

Have a great evening!

Yes, I had voted for Vegas - though Indy was great too. Portland is wonderful but I live here and I really want a vacation down the road in June or whenever we do this......and it has chapels......and I can marry .......someone.....jk
Though co worker showed up today and said hello, I am more attracted to my former maintenance man who was in tow with him. Sooooooo cute. Bachelor though.

blah - blah...........chicken tonight!!! So hungry.....

Hi everyone!

It's been a few days so I figured I'd better check in with everyone.

Janet - a belated "hi" and "welcome". I've only been a JL for a short time but these are very nice and caring women. I started out on the Michael Thurmond 6 week body makeover - it makes sense. I just finished the SMART technique which is a series of CDs (or tapes) that are like self-hypnosis to target different subconscious problems. I really enjoyed them and feel like they have helped me quite a bit. I'm not able to exercise much and I try to drink approx. 80 oz to 100 oz of water a day.

Mon. & Tues. are always soooo hectic at work. I'm usually too tired to even sit at the computer when I get home. Some friends came over yesterday and started putting up the storage building for my hubby. It's only the framework so far, but it sure looks good to us! One guy is supposed to come back tomorrow AM and do some more on it. Everything revolves around everyone's work schedules, when they have time they will finish it. Can't argue with that!

Got a lot of laundry to do tonight so I better get started. See everyone later!

picture this...small child wanting toy,,,not getting toy,,,throwing a major tantrum. That is me when I saw I gained 2 lbs. Of course it was all in my head and now I have a serious headache... all that inside wailing...I So I stayed after to talk with the instructor. HECK the way Im feeling I should of at least been down a full lb with all the hair I got cut off. So she looked at my tracker. And came to the conclusion that I haven't eaten enough. Ive not been hungry and with being so busy Ive been eating an apple on the run instead of a full meal. Ive got about 30 points plus my 35 bonus points left over. And with starting to do the gazelle,,,I guess you can say Ive been starving myself? Im disappointed,,,if Id known I would of course eaten more.
btw,,,Im not loosing my job,,,the orginal job in the call centre. I was just job sharing with another lady in recept and doing my call centre job. So Im going back to just the call centre. Im ok with that,,,I get a break again. I did like it cause it made me think ahead with food and to bring a healthy lunch.

Jane,,,I will go and vote.. Is Mary's MIL on a program too? Gotta laugh someone overheard me today talking about going to a meeting and possibly trying out other meetings,,,I think they thought I was in

Susan too bad your ex boss is

Well I don't have anything really good to say,,,Im kinda cranky right now,,,the inner child is still wanting to throw themselves down and kick her feet...maybe bang her head a couple of times for good measure.
