Good morning ya'll. Just thought I'd get the thread started. Now I gotta think up a poll. :)

Hey hey, where is everyone???

I went for a walk last night with Sadie and my neighbor! We walked for about 45+ minutes. Then I got up again this morning and walked again. We saw the freaky guy last night and turned around and went the other way. My neighbor grew up just down the road and knew the guy. She says he is very strange and doesn't trust him at all. He walks into peoples houses!!! Apparently he was in an accident way back when and had brain damage. But she said he makes very sexual comments and will hang around your house if you don't shooo him away. I am afraid for Emma, so I am keeping a close eye out. What a shame.

Other than that... same old for me!! More employee problems at work.. arggggg!!! I swear, good employees are VERY hard to find!

Good morning!

Jen ~ Sorry to hear about the weirdo in your neighborhood, there sure are alots of them out there, be careful!

Good morning Janet! Come back and post more!

Well, you ladies would be proud of me! Last night after cleaning my house, putting laundry away and making dinner, the kids and I (DH was working late) went for a bike ride. I have a mountain bike, and a trailer, so the kids (90 pounds worth) rode in the trailer and I huffed it up many hills all the way across town (2 miles) and then back again, WOW! what a workout, I was breathing so hard, it hurt!! Anyway, it was great exercise, and I stayed at the low end of my points yesterday too. It felt good.

Tonight, I am strollering the kids up to the pool for my DD swim lessons, then on for a long walk with them. I am trying real hard to get into an exercise regime.

Tomorrow I have the afternoon off, my mom and I are going shopping for a dress for my DD for my SIL wedding. I hope I can find something really cute. We are also eating chinese for lunch, so I am already thinking about what low point options I can eat. It should be fun, anything to get out of work!! :)

AND, after our lengthy discussion about thongs, I went out and bought about 5 pair. I am wearing them today (Gosh, I didn't mean to make that sentence sound like sex talk! :o ) they aren't too bad, I think I can get used to them, and you all are right, no panties up the b*tt! :p

Well, better get some work done, be back later! :dizzy:

Hey Girls, I had a good evening. I saw Pay it Forward for the 2nd time actually. I really wanted my friend to see it so we rented it. I think it is inspiring although very sad:( Anyways I was OP. I am into it lately. I obviously checked the fickle box for the poll:o I have my moments. I went to water aerobics last night. It was sooooo fun. I cannot say enough about it and I got a good workout. My bum muscles are sore and so are my arms a bit. I am excited about this class. I am going Wed. too. Has anyone else tried it?

BTW Thanks for all of the advice re: walking alone etc. I wish we lived in a society where women wouldn't have to walk around in fear. That would be my wish If I were Miss AMerica:lol: Sorry it just reminded me of "Miss Congeniality" "I'd like world peace"

Anyways Jen sorry you are having some of the same trouble in your neck of the woods. You are smart to be careful especially with Emma. I think too many parents are naive about things.

BBL,
BEcky

If anyone heard about the tornados in northern WI... I was not hit by them. But the damage up north is not good! We are a huge tourism state, so I hope it can get cleaned up quickly! My brother is a storm watcher/runner and he said all the clouds looked bad in our area, then dissapated and moved north! So I am OK!

I am so bummed that I missed the thong discussion. Tonya you crack me up. I like them however I find that you can't get cheepy ones. It is all in the material. I prefer V.S. otherwise they can be a bit uncomfy. And I don't know about you all but I cannot sleep in them. OK since I missed out on the Thong Forum I had to add my 2 cents:smug: I'm done now.

BTW Tonya you go girl!! Work out Momma! I can't imagine the bike the hills and the kids! I am impressed. Also Jen good job on the exercise thing!!!

Jen and Tonya: I was thinking about ya'll this morning while watching the Today show. They were talking about the tornadoes. Glad to hear you guys are OK
Grace: I can't sleep in anything! It makes me sweat! I hope my house never burns down or someone tries to break in...they'll get an eye full!

I should have voted for dedicated, but likes to watch the scenery. I'm a scenery watcher right now. :dizzy:
My boss is out today at least until this afternoon, so hopefully I can play a little. We'll see.
But first, I need to get some work done.
Hello to all!

I am in a pretty good mood for getting up earlier than usual and getting to work by 8am. I had to come to Annapolis today. It's not so bad, just far. At least I have some what interesting stuff to do. I got to read a copy of our new employee handbook and they are changing the vacation/sick policy to a total of 15 days per year instead of spearating it into 10 vacation and 5 sick. they also developped a maternity leave policy due to the 4 pregnant ladies this year. We get 10 weeks (unpaid)but that's ok with me. We get short -term disability that covers part of it anyway :) Sorry if this sounds boring to others, but it is our business to write handbook we are finally getting one!

Ok, next topic. After the thong discussion, I am considering buying one. I had one ages ago and didn't care for it but I may try again.

Last night I did well points wise. Ended the day at 23 and earned 6 exercise points. I am still recovering from Sunday and then will work on Saturday (the damage was much worse!) I think I am ok this week. No plans to eat out and I will be at the gym every night. I have a rehearsal dinner and another wedding this weekend to prepare for. I am hoping to go to the gym in the monrning before we leave on Friday and maybe use the one in the hotel as well. That may be wishful thinking though.

Tonya - Way to go on the major exercise! You are so great about getting exercise in fun ways by including your kids and combining it with things you are already doing. Keep it up and you will be back at your personal goal really soon!

Jen - Glad you took a walk but turned the other way. Just keep you eye out. Good thing you had the dog with you. You might consider carrying a cell phone if you have one.

Janet - How are you? Great poll. I think I am dedicated eventhough I waver (mostly on weekends). I have been at it a year and a half and just got to goal (I was actually there the first time in October but didn't want a Dr. note).

Steph - Glad you enjoyed water aerobics. Keep it up!

I better get back to work for a bit. Talk to you all later.:)

Well, in training today...yuck. and my honda is being taken for its physical tonite, I don't know when I'll get it back :(.....love my car.

Anyway, must run, am late as usual.

Have a good OP day, you thong wearing girls!

Morning All,

I am at my parent's house right now. They're about to leave for the UK for a month so since I have mon/tuesday off I am visiting! I love my job, my co-workers are so nice.

Anyhoo, I am still doing well points wise and stuff (yes this is a lifelong process) and have been doing lots of muscle training (the type with heavy weights that build muscle mass). Already it has been really helping with my tone. I am really starting to get my abs showing which is a lot of fun.

When I was losing weight I was a cross between the dedicated and the obsessed member. I mean I rarely had a day where I went over points, but I did try to fit in large meals and stuff and go over points then. I just wanted the weight off of me. Losing the weight quickly does have its disadvantages though, I am still adapting a lot of food into my life (I am doing it slowly). The last introduction was peanut butter (mmmmmmmmm). I still can't keep chocolate in my apartment (well uinless it is my roomate's). I am also fitting in alkihol a bit too.

I hope everyone is doing well though!

Kirsty: Sorry you're so swamped, good luck getting through the week.

Belle: yeah, I miss my car when she's getting her appointments. Though living downtown I am rarely using her now. I pretty much walk everywhere.

Jen: I am glad that you weren't affected and hope all those who're affected get through this and are okay.

Tonya and Becky: I am the queen of the thong now. I just won't wear then with a skirt yet.

Sarah: congrats on being on maintanance, but you may find 23 points too low. I lost on 27 points and 29 points a day I am maintaining well into the 30s I think (I generally eat 30-31 a day but will have a large meal once a week kind of thing). Maintanance if fun, remember to journal through it, trust me it helps a lot! If you can't make your exercise goals for the weekend don't worry about it, dance up a storm at the wedding and have fun:)

Bye Everyone!

Does anyone know how many pts are in a hot dog. I don't usually care for them all that much however they are having a Family fun day here today and there free which means I don't have to run out for food:D Can you say LAZY:^: Anyways while you are at it how much for the bun too? Thanks girls. I left my WW packet at home:( Bummer.

Ok I just thought of a funny thing that happened last night. First of all you have to picture my Water Aerobics class. Pregnant women, women well over 50 and a few of my girlfriends my age. We are bouncing along to the music and all of a sudden "The THong Song" comes on. I was cracking up. It is just funny we ar all in our bathing suits and just the thought 65-70 yr old women in a thong:lol: The thong discussion made me think of it.

Thanks for the help withthe pts?

Becky

Becky: I just went to www.dottisweightlosszone.com and it looks like a hot dog can be anywhere from 6 points for a reg. dog to 9 points for a chili dog. I clicked on the Weinershcnitzel (or whatever) site for the points.
Enjoy!

kimobi
06-19-2001, 01:29 PM
Becky: I'm pretty sure a hot dog in a bun is 9 points. At home, I usually get low-fat ones (3 points for the dog) and use low-fat bread. But if you get regular ones, like at a baseball game, they get up there.

I'm just saying a quick hi b/c I'm heading out to lunch. I'm trying to be good today because I ate horribly all weekend, with weddings Friday and Saturday and being out-of-town until yesterday. Last night, though, I bought myself fixings to make my own smoothies ... vanilla frozen yogurt, pineapple sherbert and lots of fruit ... strawberries, bananas and mangoes. Yum! I had one last night.

Gotta run but I'll be back later. Hope everyone's doing well!

Jen-L
06-19-2001, 01:30 PM
Becky... I looked at a list I have at work and it says the beef/pork hotdog is 5 points and a bun is 3 = 8 points. Hope that helps!!

Grace, Grace
06-19-2001, 01:35 PM
Jen Stacey Kim, Thanks you are life savers. YIKES I wish I would have known the pt value before I ate it:o Who knew:)

Oh well I only had one so I guess I can recover. I am going to go with the 8 pts. :s:

Well Ladies you always come through. Thanks.

I am bored is anyone else in a postin' mood. I actually should be a bit more motivated however after vacation I just cant get into the swing of things. I am so bummed b/c I want to walk but once again no one in the office feels like it:(

Well I will be back

Wow - I've just caught up on the last couple days worth of postings. I've actually had a lot of work to do the past few days. Took Friday off to get the BF to his drivers test and he was sick and totally sucked:cry: That means more driving him around. There's a bus strike here (over 3 months) and the DMV is totally backed up for appointments next one is at the end of august - Yuck!!

Well, for today's poll, I'm pretty strict on the points. Of course I did it at home for 2 weeks and i've only been going to meeting for 3 weeks so who knows what I'll be like to two months. I had a Dairy Queen Fudge Bar last night - YUM!! and only one point!!! I bought extras to keep in the freezer - my sister will probably get to them before me though. It's hot here. Supposed to be like this all week too.
Becky - my sis eats hot dogs all the time - Low-fat fried in Pam and no bun - I say, every now and then - a real one won't hurt. BTW - I now have the Thong Song stuck in my head - Thanks

Did you ladies know that water aerobics is a big muscle builder? Remember muscle weighs more than fat, therefore, if you're starting water aerobics don't be nervous if you're not losing pounds - you may still be losing inches - OK - I used to be a lifeguard and thought the info may be handy for some.

Belle - 20 mins!?! Way to go!

Sarah - They've changed mat leave labour code requirements here - one full year eligable for Employment insurance which is something like 66% of regular pay - AND - they're not allowed to fire you or replace you when you come back - it's pretty good.

Tornado ladies - so happy you weren't hit!!:)

Tonya - way to exercise - it's great that you can keep your kids involved too.

And hello to everyone else - I just checked out the photo thread - you ladies are gorgeous - I'm going to figure out how to post and add mine to the mix. It'll probably take me a while though

Well, enough from long winded me - having a good time and staying OP.

Today is technically my hump day as well since it is now half over. I ate lunch outside today and it was very hot! I loved it though. Somone from work has a blanket and 5 of us sat on the grass, how nice. Lunch was ok and I am at 10 points so far. Don't know what we are having for dinner and now I am itching to go out! Argh:devil: I feel like celebrating for DH since today is his last day of school (tomorrow is teacher check-out). Maybe I can settle for eating outside:dizzy:

KT - sounds like you are doing very well. Stay dedicated and you will do well. Sorry to hear about BF and the driving test. We don't need appointments at the DMV here.

Becky - I will post with you. I am not much in the mood to work since I cam back from lunch:s:

Kim - welcome back from your wedding weekend. I can totally relate. Just try to put it behind you and move on.

Ali - Thanks for the tips on maintenance. I woudl still like to lose more weight so I am going to stay low on points before really maintaining to plan. I tend to maintain lately anyway so I am not ready to add points yet. I do get a lot of exercise so when I am ready to stop losing, I will probably add some back. I am sure that your walking everywhere really helps!

Belle - Way to go on the running. I am still stuck at 1 mile. You are doing great!!!

Stacey - I hope you can enjoy your day w/o boss:s:

Kirsty - Good luck getting through work. Stop by when you have time.

Well this was a nice break. Have a great afternoon. I will chek in before I leave for the gym.

Hey Chickadees, I am so excited I just talked to one of the therapists that I work with and he would like me to start a Walking Support Group!!!! WOohoo exercise at work. It could not be more perfect timing. I have been complaining about not having walking partners. This will be obese clients, so the pace may be slow but I can't help but think that it could be quite rewarding! Well I pray that he actually follows through with this b/c I am excited! It is funny to think that I will be instructing clients on good health and nutrition:lol:

KT sorry about the Thong Song!! Hee Hee! I bet I did it again:D You will be singing it in your sleep:s: I am so evil.

Sarah- I always wanted to marry a teacher b/c I thought it would be so cool for him to have the summers off. Of course that is when I thought that I wanted to teach. Nevermind:^:

Belle congrats pretty soon you will be running like lolly and Kirsty

BTW "5k girls" I am impressed!

Ali-Bust out with the skirt, you VIXEN!:s:

Hey I forgot to comment on the pics! Are you all gorgeous or what???? I have to find a way to post one or 5 (Lolly:D I am kidding I enjoyed every last one of them. It was great b/c it is taking us along on your weight loss journey)

Bye, Becky

Sorry I haven't posted in a while. I've been swamped at work. I have kept up with reading all the posts though.

First, I was down 3lbs when I weighed in on Friday which puts me at 203.2. Excited about this, even though a lot is probably water weight. Been eating pretty well but not journaling for the past week. I try to keep track of my points in my head, but would be best to start journaling again to have something to look back at and avoid conveniently forgetting things. Well, moving forward with this today...

Stacey - glad all the wedding stuff seems to be coming together for you.

Becky - congrats with losing while on vacation and good luck with the walking support group at work.

Jen - good job on the walking. Make sure to keep an eye out for that stange guy - I think someone else's idea of bringing a cell phone along would be helpful and might make you feel more comfortable.

KT - bummer on the boyfriend's drivers license. Good job staying on plan!!

Ali - starting to see your ab muscles? That's great, can't wait until I can say those words. Seems like you're doing a great job on maintenance - way to go.

Belle - yeah on the running for 20 minutes, that's great.

Kirsty - hope work calms down for you so you can come out and play more.

Tonya - great job on the food and working in the exercise!

Sarah - GOAL - big congrats!!!:D

Well, best be going. Need to go home and let the dog out and then downtown to class for the night. Hello to anyone I missed and talk to everyone later.

Hey cuties!! First of I want to say Thank You for being there. Having a bad day and the thread made me laugh which I really needed. You are always here when I need you!!! I’m also feeling a bit more motivated reading about these things called abs?? *evil grin*

Thong tho tho tho thonggggg……grrrrrr……heheheheheheheheeeee

Wow, is this me?? Posting? Jeez, to think I used to be the marathon post queen  Anyway, I have to be very honest and say that at the moment I’m just trying not to gain! I’m really having trouble balancing my business, work, time with hubby and puppy, oh, and sleep. Sleep?? Let alone keep track of what I’m eating and get that thing called exercise. I have to go on a business trip Wed and Thursday. Welcome to exciting Colony Wyoming. Can you tell I’m on the edge of my seat? The goal is to find a good restaurant with light beer!!! OK enough whining from me!

Stacey: Have you gotten to the point where you nothing matters anymore? I can’t believe the wedding is so close! It seems like you were just telling us you got engaged  Did I ever tell you I had a big issue (can’t really call it a fight) with my best friend/MOH about a month before the wedding? I was proud of myself b/c I stayed really calm and just laid out how I was feeling. It was very productive and taught me a lot about how to solve an emotional issue with a close friend. I’m lucky in that she is very laid back and objective. It made things fun again for the rest of the wedding planning. Oh, bring me back a tan from Cozumel will ya? Don’t forget the guacamole at Poncho’s Backyard. The points don’t count  {{{{{{{{{{{{ WILL POWER }}}}}}}}}}}}}}}}} I found yours, now where’s mine??

KT & Noelle: Welcome! Sorry I haven’t had a chance to get to know you guys. I’m still trying to catch up on posts. I just can’t bear to not read them you know???

Sarah: I never congratulated you on reaching goal!!! I’m so excited for you :D You are helping to pave the way for the rest of us.

Jen: 20 pound star!! 20 pound star!! ;)

I know I'm forgetting people. Hi to everyone else. Gotta bolt...only a half hour of this dungeon left Woohoo!!

BRENDA... YOU'RE BACK. YAHHHHH, I missed you!!!! You can do this, I know you can. Girlfriend, I have been there so many times, and I am still working my pants off to get this weight off. I truely believe sometimes we just need a little break! My little (long) break was being PG, unfortunately, I gained much more than I thought I would. But the break cleared my mind and I am doing things differently this time. Although I am losing slow, I must be doing something right... Cuz I got my 20 pound star!

Here's another ~~~@@@CYBER KICK@@@~~~ in the (_|_)

Stacey: I think your willpower is off somewhere with mine! Maybe they took a cruise to the Bahamas and left us hanging! :(

I THINK I'm sorta kinda back on track today, although I had a high-point lunch (half a steak and cheese sub). But I had yogurt with strawberries and granola for breakfast, and stopped home this afternoon to make myself a smoothie with low-fat vanilla frozen yogurt and fruit. I think I'm just going to make a stir-fry with veggies and maybe just a little chicken for dinner. I've got a craving for healthy food, because I've been eating crap lately. Yesterday, I bought a bag of pistachios for the car ride back from Virginia Beach. EVIL! And the two weddings I went to had WONDERFUL little finger foods ... I can't stay away from those little meatballs, or cheese and crackers. And there were the loveliest little stuffed mushrooms and cheese balls at the second wedding. Ahh ... I just love food too much, I think.

NO NO NO!!!! No bad food! I'm drinking my water as I type.

I finally read the posts from the past few days ... Lolly, what great photos! Your most recent one was fantastic and what a cool dress! I've got to get a photo up that shows my face a little better. I still haven't figured out how to work my scanner at home.

Ah,WI tomorrow. I skipped last week, and I bet I gained a pound or two. Damn, damn, damn. I have got to get motivated ... again.

There was a question the other day about whether we're jealous of skinny girls. YES! I can't help it, but I am. I've mentioned the little group of girlfriends I have at the paper, all of whom are slim and very into outdoors sports. And I get jealous I can't do any of that, like mountain biking and hiking. I can do short hikes, but they do hard-core stuff (like mountain biking up actual mountains, the kind you need to bring tire-repair kits for!), which I know I can't do, not only because of my weight but also b/c of my asthma. Maybe one day ... but when I see them planning something and I'm not included, I know it's because of my weight.

Sigh. Did I mention I have low self-esteem?

I need to go because I've been procrastinating writing my column of police briefs o' the day. Have a good night!

Hi Everyone :) Gosh it's been ages since I've posted... I've been lurking off and on tho. Sounds like ya'll are doing great! I haven't really been home much and find it really hard to keep on track. Ugh! On the bright side it's been so hot the last few days that I haven't really felt like eating much.

Thongs huh? I guess I missed that discussion... I have never tried wearing one. They look so uncomfortable... maybe I'll have to try it and will be very surprised! I love buying new underwear anyways.

Well I just wanted to let you all know I'm still around (occasionally at least!).
