Glenda: Good for you on the Perfect Day! Just keep going! Sorry to hear about the Lip Problems. Hope she fixes it so its right. She is charging for the screw up is she? It cant make up its mind here if its Fall or Summer. One day. Its in the 80's the Next 95.

Maria: Great news about DH! Least now he gets paid! That Storm sounded bad. Would hate to be camping in that! Glad they made it through!

Off to watch a bit of TV before bed.

Later!

Hi everyone: this is our day for the 'ladies monthly'. A few friends get together once a month for lunch, and since we no longer have difficulties with the 'monthly' we felt it was an appropriate name for our outings. :D:

Glenda: good for you having a perfect day. I really have a hard time staying within the 22 points. I mostly end up using some of the flex points, and today will be no exception. Tomorrow weigh-in and ???? after our trip. Will have to wait and see.

Slavika: Sorry your granddog is having problems with his eye. Poor baby.

Maria: Very nice that your Dh will get paid for something he likes to do anyway. I must confess, that I don't understand a thing about Cricket. I've watched some games, but it is like watching an undecipherable code for me. You web site is nice, for the Cricketeers.

Lily: Thanks for the new thread. You must be wishing you were back in Hawaii about now. We haven't had any big change in the weather as yet. But expect we will soon.

Hi to all you gals I'm off with the ladies. Ann

:cp: :cp: Well, the yoyo dropped this week aat the weigh-in and I am down 3.2 today. That is .2 less than I went up before. Now If I can just keep the momentum. The funny/sad thing is that I don't know what I did this passt two weeks to make such a difference. But I am definately not complaining. Hope you all are having a great weekend. Ann

Gotta tell you Ann . When it comes to weight loss it is a toss up. You do the same things day in and day out and the effects are different every week. A big pat on the back to you. You must be somewhat consistant to have that good loss. Good job! :bravo:

Hi Everybody :)

Ann well done :woo:
3.2#, what a nice weight loss. Good for you!!! :)

I sure hope that after the exercise I got today puppysitting that I managed to get some weight off. Our son was flying to Toronto on business and dil and grandkids where going to one of those corn mazes around 4:00 and they wanted me to go to their place and let the pups out around 6:30..... I told them they could drop the "hounds" off at our place if they liked and I could get to cuddle them. WRONG!!! WRONG!!! Those two pups are like two children about the age of 2 years. They are of course too young to understand the word NO. When you do yell NO, they look at you with those beautiful big brown eyes...as if to say, "why are you yelling at me?" They chased each other around and around in behind the T.V. (managing to pull the plug out) so the T.V. program that DH was watching went all fuzzy....then, they pulled out the phone cord and the phone was disconnected and fell on the floor and scared the h*** out of them, but they quickly recovered by jumping on their Papa for safety as he was madly trying to protect his face so they wouldn't lick him on his mouth...... :D :D it was like some crazy comedy routine with DH laughing and yelling, "call off the hounds, call off the hounds". When one pup finally settles down to rest, the other sneaks up and then pounces, and then the chasing, fighting, biting starts all over again. They each have one of those raw hide bones......but NOOOO, they each want to chew on the SAME one. They end up biting each other on the paw, ear or nose. :D
I did get down on the floor several times to play with them and by the time dil and grandkids came to pick them up, I could hardly move I was so tired. I never realized just how far down the floor is now that I am older. hee hee :p I admit it was even more difficult to get up. :(
We don't have any appointments tomorrow, so I can sleep a little later if I wish. It was fun having the pups here, but it sure is much harder when there are two of them and they both are so young. I did have a dalmation and bichon at the same time, but the dalmation was already a little bit older when we got the bichon.
I enjoyed the evening and so did DH. He went to bed about an hour ago and I think it's time I did too. :)

We are back. What a wonderful weekend, weather (warm, clear, no wind), company (chatty), food ( just enough). DH got to swim every day and yesterday he was in and out about 5 times. l had to go to the edge of the porch to semaphore (sp?) to him that it was lunch time. The water was about 67 deg. and very calm which helped and no wind meant that when you come out you don't turn into an immediate icicle. My friend and I did the usual.....talked up a storm and we did go to the local mall for a short trip. My friend has been having a problem with Plantar Fasciitis and can only walk for short periods of time. I was able to let her off right by the store and then pick her up again to cut out a lot of walking.
I have got unpacked and supper is started and I think that tomorrow sounds just about right for doing the laundry.

Slavika: Your pups sound like a handful but fun. You will notice that they will calm down in a couple of years if they are like DD#2's Chocolate Lab. :)

Ann: Kudos for the weight loss. You must be doing something right!!!

OK---I can't remember what everyone else wrote. That's normal! Need to go and finish the supper preparations. Tired tonight, I think it was all that sea air. But I'll take it every time.

Gloria, that sounded like a wonderful weekend. You know, part of the fun of this board is getting to know people who are in very different locations. There are always different things that you do that are just because you are in your location. That is always so interesting. Anyway, I cannot even begin to imagine putting my body in 67 degree water. Your husband is tough!

Slavika, the pups sound like so much fun. I bet the grandkids are enjoying them. Are they house dogs? They are just like 2-year-old kids, wanting the same toy. I remember buying toys and getting even different colors. Wrong! I soon learned to get the very same color for kids anyway. And you are right about that floor thing--it just keeps getting further and further down. Do you remember being able to jump up IN THE MIDDLE of the floor?

Where are you guys?

Slavika: Those Puppies sound so cute! They do sound like a Handful tho! Love puppies. I know what you mean about getting on the floor and then getting back up. Hubby laughs at me :)

Gloria: Your weekend sounded like it was lots of fun. Glad you had a great time!

Hi Glenda :)

Yes the beagles are house dogs. They will be about 20# and 13" tall at the shoulder when they are full grown.
They will have the run of the house excluding the third floor where the bedrooms are as my poor dil is allergic to fur faced critters and needs a reprieve at least when she is sleeping.
Her dad brought home a dog when she was around 13 years old, so she knew she was allergic then, but feels it's not that bad as long as she is not sleeping in the same room as them. :)
Lily you would just love those little pups. When they see me their whole body seems to wiggle and they are so excited. :D
DH saw the doctor today, blood test was good, and he said DH will only have to come in once every two weeks now for a blood test instead of twice of week. YIPPEE!!!! :) :)
Good night everybody.

Hi All: There is just nothing newsworthy to report from here. We are getting some much needed rain. Today I went out between showers and clipped a bush or two, and pulled some weeds. How exciting is that?:D:
I had thought to go to the pool, but now I hear rain on the roof, so that is out, I guess.

This a.m. after Curves, and DH session at Physical therapy we went over to church and did a job of label sticking on lots of packages of microwave popcorn. I think we did about 10 cases, 28 in a case. We are getting these ready to put into a doorhanger sleeve, with information about our church and a DVD with photos of different aspects of the church and school The label starts with something like 'Just poppin by' and then goes on with a bit of explanation. There are so many new housing developments going up around here. The projection is that in 5 years the population of Haines City will increase by about 35,000. Hence the door hangers.

So that's it for today. Ann

G'day everyone,

Boy it is difficult getting used to have a husband at home full time ;) :stress:
My normal routine is way out of whack and I have also been a bit miserable with some really bad hayfever
We have done a lot since he has been home, we have bought our off road camper trailer, ds and d-i-l have bought a house, babysitting Matilda and also some paid work.
Our front garden is looking a picture again and will look even nicer when all the plants start to grow and flower.
This morning I convinced dh to go and buy himself an IPod, that will hopefully keep him busy to download all the music we have. It holds 10 000 songs so that should keep us toe tapping whilst we are in the Outback this coming winter. :D
Next week we are off to Melbourne to help our dd and her husband to shift into their 'new' place they bought. The whole house needs to be painted and carpets ripped up etc. etc. Hopefully I will be over the worst of this hayfever.

I have enjoyed everyones posts, you are doing so well in the weight loss department Ann, good for you.

Hopefully I will get back into my old routine soon......

Cheers
Maria

Maria, My Aunt's definition of retirement was twice as much husband only half as much money. But you will adjust to having him full time in time. After SIL left we had to make that adjustment too. With her here she was kind of like a buffer. I think. Then she was gone. All in all it's a good thing to have a husband full time. You'll see.

Ann I know we needed the rain but was not a happy camper . The clouds were so low I think that is why I had a headache 3 days in a row. Yuk!! Have you been to the new Kohl's store in Lakeland? We are going today. I am excited. I love Kohl's

Have decided to get out of my funk and get on with my life. Slavika's happier e-mail was a big help. Thanks

There was an e-mail about pet peeves. Mine is spending good money for a casual Tee shirt. One tha covers my belly area and having it shrink up at least 4 inches. The shirt still fit's. But I don't like them so short. I do not have a bellybutton ring to show off!!!!

Bought sewing machine last week and made over some curtains that I bought about 30 years ago in Germany. Now they are in my kitchen and look beautiful. Am planning to make some shirts that don't shrink also. Need to find some fabric I like first. Want to get some light weight denim for pants also.

Well need to go change clothes. Still in my walking clothes. Need to put on shopping clothes.

Bye
Karen

:tread: :tread: Hi Everybody :)

I keep forgetting to mention to you all that Trudy has not left planet earth. Her sil took her computer :comp: to try and make more room in it for her. I sure miss her emails. :(
Well I finally got back on the :tread: treadmill this morning. First time in a LONG time. I am hoping that between WW, the treadmill and my size 12 swimsuit (that I bought last year when we were planning our trip to Maui) :beach: hanging on the door to the TV room that I get this weight off. My swimsuit is a size 12 but this body of mine isn't. Why does it all the weight have to settle right on my tummy. I would look so much better if it was distributed all over my body. ;) You know, a little bit here, and little bit there. I don't really have much of a butt, some would look good there. Oh woe is me....my "bosom" is nearly DOWN to my waist or else my waist is nearly UP to my bosom. :( You don't really hear the word "bosom" anymore unless you are reading some old romance novel. I wonder why? :?:
Here's an address where you can go can put in your weight etc and see what your body looks like, but better still you can put in your goal weight and see what you would look like AFTER you lose the weight.
www.mvm.com
DH is doing great but continues to get "hives". The doctor's have taken him off the antibiotics he was on thinking that was causing the hives, but now I don't think so. They are really strange too. It seems they come, and then a few hours later, that batch is gone and a new batch has come. We have tried to think if something else could be causing these hives, like laundry detergent, or the dove body wash, different foods, but we haven't changed anything. They are going to arrange for DH to have a series of tests done to try and pin down what he is allergic to.
Maybe it doesn't matter that he wasn't allergic to anything in the past, maybe he has now developed allergies to something or some foods. :?:
Our family is all out for the day, so we are going to go and "release the hounds". hee hee. :D Poor little CC has one of those cones on so that she does not scratch her eye. When they brought her home from the vets after her eye surgery, Bagel was actually a little scared of her. Bagel had her tail between her legs and was trying to sniff her sister without actually getting to close. :) I guess little CC had all kinds of different smells on her and then that cone thing around her head. Bagel soon realized it was her sister and best friend and all is well with them now.
I didn't get the remainder of my tomatoes out of the garden, and the frost has come and killed the plants. It's ok, there were not many left and what was there was just some green ones. The flowers in the flower boxes are all dead now too. Maria your garden is coming to life now an ours is now going to sleep for the winter.
This is our thanksgiving weekend and dil and son are
having us over on Monday for a nice turkey dinner. I will take dessert and anything else they may need. Bye for now.

Hi all,

It seems like forever since I have been here and it probably is. I have been enjoying all your emails. Just been busy with life in general lately plus the lady that I paint things for is in the midst of craft show mania. She needs things constantly and fast. Also I do things for my sister's hospital guild fall fest. I finally painted that 50 cent yard sale chair. I painted it Christmas with candy canes and ginger bread people. If I ever think it would be fun to paint a chair like that again I hope someone shoots me. But it did turn out cute. Then she gave me an old milk can to paint cows on. It is being picked up tomorrow.

We are going with the ds and dil and the kid to a Woolfest in Kentucky tomorrow. It is sort of cold out now. I am not ready for this. Thurs it was almost 90 and Fri it was high of 60. Go figure.

Ann-woo hoo on the loss. Pat yourself on the back for a job well done.

Slavika what a stitch those pups are. They are so much fun to watch and play with. And I know how hard it is to get up off the floor. lol I can remember jumping off of things with no problem. Not anymore.

Karen-you and your family are in my thoughts everyday.

Gloria no way would I be swimming in that water. I can sort of remember how cold it was in the summer. You all have great constitutions.

Glenda have to go back and read about your lips. Sounds like problems.

Lily good to hear from you.

Maria I like Karen's description of retirement. It is so on the money.

I am tired and got laundry to do. Now doesn't that sound like an exciting Saturday night?

G'day everyone,

A new week and a new attitude!!
I am feeling a lot better than I have the last few weeks and I now have to get used to having dh home on a full time basis.
He is still on holidays, then back to work November and December before his official retirement.
I am finding it very difficult that he wants to do EVERYTHING with me, when I am used to my little routine and really don't want to go here, there and everywhere
We had a bit of a talk about our expectations and he realises that he is a bit lost and that he will find his niche, I certainly hope so.
He thought buying an Ipod (Creative Zen is what we actually bought, very similar) would be great and we could have music whilst we are driving.
I think they are very expensive but thought that would keep him busy, guess who is transferring all our music CD's onto the thing...ME
I have so far transferred 1835 songs  and I am not even half way through our CD's!!!!!!
I also joined something like Napster and found some more music I like.
I loved the Powerpoint email Slavika sent and I loved the song that played, Celine Dion 'I am alive', I had never heard it so I found it on this music site and I have now downloaded it.
So something I thought would keep dh happy is keeping me very busy!
It is a beautiful day so he may like to take his canoe down the beach and paddle that for a while :D ;)
Thanks for letting me have a bit of a b----, you proably all think I am making mountains out of molehills :dizzy:
At the end of the week we are off to Melbourne to help our dd and s-i-l to move into their 'new' house they bought.
I am so pleased this virus or whatever it was seems to be waning and I will be of some use helping with shift, cleaning etc.

Hope you all had a great weekend.

Cheers
Maria

Morning Maria,

I think there is a song about a new attitude or something like that. Seems to me it is on a commercial, maybe Sears? That seems like a big job to transfer all those songs. Can you pick whichever one you want to hear and play it or do you go through the whole list. I don't understand those things. My niece just gave her dd one for her birthday and it holds 5000 songs. I don't know if I could think of that many songs to list on it. I know how it feels to have your routine disrupted. It takes a while to get used to.

We went to the Wool Festival yesterday. I saw some cool hats made out of wool but they were over $100. Yikes-way too much for me. We went with son and family. The grandkid is getting cute and very nosy. He was taking everything in. He just didn't like a cold bottle and get batting it away. They had to go to a vendor and get a cup of hot water and warm it then he was fine.

It is cold-I am ready for spring not winter.

nanacas
10-10-2005, 12:05 PM
This morning when we woke the temp was 51 deg. I really have to get going and make those closet changes. Today, I have such a mountain of laundry that I will start on my closet tomorrow. I am such a morning person that when I have a large chore, if I don't start first thing it just doesn't get done. Since I have the double depth closet I can usually just change the clothes from the back rod to the front rod but DH has the smaller closets and his off season clothes go up to the attic. I think Friday is a good day to light the fire under DH to get out the ladder and access the attic and then he can close the attic windows and bring down winter and bring up summer clothes.
The other winterizing chore is to change the windows from screens to storms which also means adding some weather stripping.....old windows.

Maria: It will take a while for both of you to get used to this new thing called retirement. I was concerned when DH retired as he did not have any hobby, however, it didn't take long for him to pick up a book and now he reads as much as I do. He has always been a walker and although, now, he has slowed down he is still doing some walking.
That's quite an undertaking copying all those songs. We have CD's but no IPOD. Wouldn't know how to operate one. LOL

Slavika:I wouldn't worry too much about my swimming suit if I were you...just being in Maui and seeing that beautiful sight from your Lanai would knock out all unlovely thoughts. Your gks are going to really enjoy that lovely vacation.

Peggy: I'm with you it is cold and I can only think of Spring...and it's so far away. The Woolfest sounds like fun but I agree $100 is too much for a hat.

Karen: Good for you with the new sewing machine. I used to make curtains and kids clothes and now I just use it for hemming slacks and sewing ripped seams.

Ann: We are also in the midst of a rainy spell. Actually we could use the rain but it does make for drab days.

My dryer just dinged and so I must go.

Have a great week all.

G'day all,

I have just got back from the doctors and I have tonsillitis
Throat was getting just worse and worse. DD rang last night and I told her I wasn't feeling all that great, she said you cannot not come now I have made a list of all the jobs to be done and who does what!!!!!!!!
I have now got antibiotics and I have a few days for them to kick in. DH is at son's place doing more stuff there for their open inspection at the weekend. D-i-l is off to a netball camp in Canberra on Wednesdaynight and is back again at the weekend.
When both my kids are finally settled in their new homes, I think I will leave the country!!! I will go and join you for a few days Slavika.....I wish!

The transfer of the songs is not as bad as it sounds, I have done the lot, 2023 songs
Things are starting to look up a bit, dh and I had a long talk again and he realises that he is the pain in the backsite at the moment.
He would not have lasted 5 days let alone 5 years if he had to do what I have been doing these past 5 years away from home.
He readly agrees with that.

Boy those hats were a bit pricey Peggy, they would want to be VERY cool for that sort of money. It is always nice going to those sort of fairs and see some of the brilliant ideas people come up with.

Goodness what a lot of work Gloria this winterising. I have never done any of that but it does bring back memories from when I was a child in Holland . I can remember as soon as it was sort of spring, all our summer clothes would come out and we would all have to try them on to see what would fit who (I have two older sisters). Being the youngest girl, I hated getting all the hand me downs especially as I was very skinny and nothing looked all that great and my mother would be constantly exclaiming how good it looked on number 2 sister and how awful it looked on me!!!!!
Dr. Phil would be horrified :D ;)

It is just about time for Dr. Phil, so I will be off and have a cup of soup whilst I watch him.

Cheers

It is so good to be back on-line again. I read the posts and all the e-mails, I really missed a lot. Thanks for sending me e-mail even though I wasn't responding. What an interesting group we are.
My SIL said I have tons of space in the computer, but not enough was in C Drive, so he did "something" and now everything is in C and D will only be for CD's and E is a small drive with nothing in it. Maybe you computer savy gals will know what that means, I don't. Of course I have some annoying e-mail problems to straighten out and a very irritating black space all around the desktop which drives me nuts.
Slavika would you send me the power point with the Celine Dion song?.... please??
Maria sorry to hear about the tonsillitis. I had a bad bout when I was 18.. it made me miserable, I can still remember how sick I was.
Gloria I changed from summer to winter clothes yesterday. What a pain that was. I decided that most of my winter clothes were too ugly for words and bagged them for Salvation Army. That means I need to do some serious shopping. :smug:
Peggy I wouldn't pay $100.00 for a woolen hat either.
Lily I put all of the 3fc addys into 1 spot, but not sure your addy is correct. Did you get the ones I sent today? If you didn't, please let me know. Actually that goes for all of you, if you didn't get anything from me today that means I have goofed up somehow so please let me know.

We did a lot of babysitting these past couple of weeks. The babysitters father had a stroke and then died so my DD was without a babysitter. We were happy to step in, but it sure was tiring.

Talk to you all again soon... bye bye...

Sorry havent posted been really crazy. I have new Duties and it keeps me hopping. Need to get back my lunch time. Been taken away from me sort of. Just Need to get it back :) I did voice my opinion to my Supervisior. But it went unheard. I so want to retire. :(

G'day all,

Trudy good to 'see' you again. I wonder who set up your computer like that in the first place :dizzy: , pleased it has now been fixed.

Lily Don't managers in America have a duty of care to their employees??
That is so wrong for you not to be able to have a lunch break. I know it can happen now and again but for it to become the norm that is ridiculous.
I would be more than 'mentioning' my concerns.
It sounds to me that you are a very productive and conscientious member of this company and you supervisor is taking advantage of that.
Off my soap box ;)

Thank goodness the anti biotics have kicked in and I am feeling a little better.
I am sort of pleased we are driving to Melboure, (9 hour drive) don't think I could stand to fly over and straight into the cleaning/organising etc. for daughters move
Our son is having his first open inspection this saturday, we will go over this morning to finish a few things with him (his wife is on a training camp in Canberra), then pack, out to dinner tonight, home to bed and then off to Melbourne at 5 am. :dizzy:

I doubt if I get a chance to 'call' in over the next week so I will 'see' you all on my return.

Take care, stay happy and healthy

Cheers

Hi Everyone: It seem like it has been a long time since I have posted. No special reason, just seem to be busy with other stuff, and don't get here.

Maria; Glad your antibiotics kicked in. Traveling when you are not feeling well is no fun. Hope you are fine once you get to the organizing at your DD new home. I understand what you are experiencing with the new retiree. When you are accustomed to your own space and your own activities it is hard to begin to share time. Also hard for him, who has been so busy at work. But you have had some constructive talks and I'm sure as time goes on you will both find your times alone and your times together.

Peggy: I'd never pay $100 for a hat, no matter what the wool was like. I never wear hats anymore. No need down here. But it is fun to go to things like that, and you being the crafter person you are, you can always find ideas to bring home and incorporate into your crafts.

Gloria: I'm so glad that winterizing is no longer part of the activities we have to do. Our clothes stay the same, pretty much, but in the winter months we do add sweaters, or jackets. And maybe not so many shorts for a while. And I used to hate putting on the storm windows. Washing them all, etc. You have your work cut out for you.

Trudy: Happy shopping. I need to do a bit of shopping, but am going to wait until I finally get back to my goal weight. It is a struggle right now to get lower. I think my body just says I'm happy right here. Quit trying to change me. We did go out the other day and buy shoes. We both needed them. It was sticker shock for sure. Three pairs of shoes $270 dollars. So I won't shop for quite a while. I had several pairs of shoes 91/2 narrow, and they were just too short. Everytime I wore them my feet hurt. I don't know why I let anyone talk me into buying them. So I finally chucked them. But I won't be building up my shoe closet very quickly at the prices today. DH and I have expensive feet. Long and narrow. There is only one store in our area that carries our sizes.

Slavika: Don't worry about bathingsuits. You will be just fine, and just thinking about your vacation will be wonderful incentive to you. A new suit purchased in Hawaii, wouldn't be a bad idea. Have loved your emails. Especially the polka.

Glenda;Hope all is well with you. How did you make out with the lips and the corrections. You may have said, but I don't remember.

Karen: Such good news about Kevin. Are you enjoying this nice weather we are having. We do still need rain, and we are now going into the more dry season. I have to plant a whole lot of flowers in my little plot out front. I had to clean out all the old stuff, as it just got too dry, and up and died on me.

Lily: Hope you can have a productive talk with your supervisor. No one should have to give up their lunch time. Something temporary might be acceptable, but surely not on a permanent basis. Hope you are having a good restful weekend.

Tonight we are having Octoberfest at the Clubhouse. Oompah band and all. But people haave to bring their own beer:D: We have a German fellow here who is doing the cooking. He does a great job, but he doesn't clean up after himself, so cleaning the kitchen when he is finished is a job. I baked a cinnamon apple cake, for part of the dessert. There will also be German Chocolate cake.

I skipped WW today, as there was stuff to do, and being a lifetime member, I am not required to every week. Maybe having a two week period, I can drop a little more.

Havae a happy weekend everyone. Ann

Well, this morning something strange happened in my neck of the woods. There was this bright ball in the sky and I could actually see the trees are turning color. We have had 8 straight days of rain and it was great to see the Sun again. Our town had 4" of rain overnight on Thursday nite. Lots of water in the cellars, etc. DD#1 has some and her basement is finished so is having work done today. Heard that DD#2 also had some but that is strange because they had a French drain put in years ago which wicks the water away and they also have a finished basement with lots of electronic equipment. I will have to call them later as I feel they, too, are busy cleaning up. We only got a little in one corner but not a finished basement so it will dry.

Marie: So glad the meds have helped your condition...not fun to have to help the move when you are feeling poorly.

Lily: Glad that "no lunch" situation was a fleeting thing. Not good not to have a break in the middle of the day.

Karen: Wonderful news about Kevin. Now all you need is to here his wife is back in the states. Wiould be nice if it was in time for Thanksgiving.

Trudy: Yes, shopping will be great. I am a great jeans and sweatshirt wearer in the winter and do need a couple of new sets. I may wait til we get back from vacation. I can only think of one thing at a time. ;)

This will be a short post as I am in the middle of laundry and the dryer buzzer is calling me!

Morning,

Maria hope you are over tonsillitis. My dh had his tonsils taken out when he was 38. The hospital was full and they put him in the pediatric ward. That was sort of funny. I had mine removed when I was in the 6th grade.

Gloria I have been thinking of you. I was reading and watching tv about all the rain up your way. It sure has been a weird year weatherwise all over the world. Makes you wonder what is going to happen next. I hope you are dry and that your kids houses are okay. I have been switching around clothes also. I need to go buy some cardigan sweaters. And I need to quit snacking to be able to get into my jeans. I refuse to buy a bigger size.

Karen hope that Kevin is doing better and that his wife gets home soon.

Slavika you are testing my brain power with the quizes and games. Today I will be practicing throwing the paper balls into the waste can. I have to admit I am not so good at that. Your 100 days are ticking away and soon you will be in Maui. Go and have fun and don't worry about what size suit you are wearing. The important thing is that you two will be there.

Lily that is not right for you not to have a lunch hour or at least a little time to eat. Isn't that against some kind of rule?

Trudy I sure don't understand about computers either. Glad you are back online.

Ann that cinnamon apple cake sounds so good. I bet your Oktoberfest was fun. You all always have something fun going on down there. If you think 91/2 narrow are hard to find try 11W. Most of them look like boats-all I need are oars. LOL

Had a beautiful weekend weatherwise here. I wish it would stay this way all year round. Not too hot and not cold. We went to a 60th surprise birthday party for our friend and I think he was really surprised. It was fun. I have to go out and fill my birdfeeders-they are empty. I can't keep up with the birds.

Good morning, all. I have read umpteen messages and just have a smattering of subjects. I have been so busy at work, just not time for all the "important" tasks of my day.

Slavika, I agree. Just get the weight you can off and then forget it and enjoy being in Maui.

Gloria, every area has certain things to do to be ready for the weather. We do change out clothes, but lots of times we have both hanging around because the winter has hot days and summer even has cold days. My mother had a basement that had water quite a bit too. Just a real pain. This much rain is pretty unusual, right?

Maria, I really liked your comment about your DH not surviving 5 days of what you have done for the last 5 years. How true! He would have been in a padded room by now. I don't really comprehend the amazing life you have had all that time either, but it just sounds tiring remembering all the packing, moving, etc.

Ann and Peggy, regarding shoe sizes. I don't have an unusual foot size, but I have feet that can HURT if put in the wrong shoe. We have a lady in this office who is very fashionable and has gotten me to buy shoes I should not have--heels and more pointy. I have to stick with clunky Clarks and just be drab.

Yes, I hope I have my lips sort of fixed by now.

Karen, I am just so happy that your DH is doing so well and is back on US soil. Life is sweet when our kids are well.

Trudy, a pinch-hit babysitter? I know how tiring that can be. We picked up our Makenzie Sunday and took her to a family BD party. Her mom and dad were on a trip to visit a brother in Washington State. This is her bio brother she just met. Anyway, her bio mother was doing the Makenzie babysitting. I had to kind of fight the green-eyed monster for a bit, but then finally got my head on straight. Anyway, coming back, remember she is 2 1/2, she said, "Thank you, Grandma, for coming to pick me up. I love you soooo much!" She just astounds me.

Well, at least I have rejoined you to some degree. Maybe I will have more time later. By the way, I have 9 pounds to lose and for two weeks have lost nothing. I think I am going to have to do without flex points and go down even more. This BP medication is taking a toll on my weight loss!

It's been an interesting few days. The news on the daughter's homes is not good #1 will problable lose the rug and it will be a while befoe everything airs out but we are supposed to have more rain this weekend. #2, also, believes the rug is history by the electronics are OK. Talked with her today and she also has a full bath in the basement and water came up thru the floor tiles so they will have to be taken out and replaced. She said it was just too much rain all in one quick spell. They have had the Frence drain for 10 years and this is their first problem. I don't know if DD#1 wil want to put in a drain as she is on the ledge and also it costs about $5000.

We went shopping at the Commissary and what a crowd...not only in the store but the highway both going and coming was a mess. Well that's done for a few weeks any. Got it all put away and dinner is over so it is quiet time at the old homestead.

I am a bit tired today so I think I will pull out a good book and read til I fall asleep.

Hi All: Just spent a wonderful and tiring day at Seaworld with friends. My English friend has her daughter here, and she is taking her to as many of the attractions as she can. SeaWorld is my favorite of all. to end the Shamu show today, they had what they said is the largest Killer whale anywhere in captivity. Weighs in at over 12,000 lbs. He was huge and he came out all by himself and proceeded to splash the whole front section with just a swish or two of the gigantic tail. I just love to watch all the things those animals can do. He really was enormous!!!

Lily: I have a computer question? I have been trying to forward to you gals some emails that have come to me with attachments. When I put it on forward the attachment shows in the proper box, but as soon as I hit send the attachment flies out of the window. A couple of people have told me they get my email and nothing is there. What do i need to do to fix this. please? Did you gals get the one I sent about the police? That was one that disappeared as soon as i hit send.

Maria: Hope you are feeling better, and are getting your dd settled in their new home.

Gloria: Sorry about your gals and all the water damage they have experienced. Now the big thing will be to keep out the mold. If the temperatures stay reasonably low, it may not be too big a problem, but down here several people haave had to move out of their houses that had water damage from the hurricanes of last year, because of mold. They have to have their whole house treated somehow.

Peggy: I think wide shoes are as hard to find as narrow ones. I often wish I just had the average shoe size and could go into Walmart or Payless or some of those places and just get nice inexpensive shoes. Then I would have a closet full of them. Have you made any of the cute 'bra' handbags? I gave the site to a friend down here who does lots of crats and she says she is going to try one.

Yesterday we had our carpets cleaned. Had to close Smokey into the bathroom so she wouldn't get too spooke by all the noise. She was highly insulted.

Slavika: Love all the games. I have managed to get 3 paper balls in the basket and that is it. Now the Halloween bowling that someone sent in a whole other situation. I can't get about a 48 score and that cackling witch could drive one goofy in a hurry.

Karen: We will just have to keep praying that Kevin's wife will get home soon. Thanksgiving sure would be nice.

Trudy: have you gone on your shopping spree yet? Would love to go along.

Glenda: Why is it that we let people talk us into shoes that just don't quite fit because we want a new pair. I am now tring to give away 4 pairs that just hurt my feet too much as they are too short.

Gloria: Thats to bad about your DD's house. Thank goodnees the Electronics are ok. That is alot of money to for a drain.

Glenda: Glad you got the lips sorted out. Just jeep hanging in there it will come off. It is frustrating when you dont lose. I have heard that BP Medicine will do that.

Ann: On your email Problem, All I can say is make sure you hit Forward and Not Reply to ALL. If you reply the attachment will not go with the email. But a Forwrd will always retain the attachment or it should. What Mail Client are you using? Boy that whale sounds huge! Love Watching whales. We did see some Dolphins Playing in Kaua'i love to watch them to

Gonna go watch some TV and hit the sack. Im pooped today
