Oooh, I'm the first one to post this week. I got up early and am all ready to go out and walk, but thought I'd post my loss before I got going today. Down one pound. I don't know why because I haven't been working that hard at watching the eating. Either I'm getting used to the amounts or the 12 gm. increase in my thyroid med. is helping more than I realized. Anyway, I'm happy and hope everyone has a successful round with the ole MM.
Monet, thanks for starting the board so faithfully this week. You are a very busy person and I know it is a commitment. You rock!
You Atlanta girls, what's the weather like up there? We can wear T-shirts and shorts down here still, but I'm hoping that a 3/4 sleeve shirt and slacks will suffice for Atlanta weather. Also, I'm taking the MARTA to Buckhead tomorrow afternoon from Hartsfield and I was wondering if you live between ATL and Buckhead. If so I could get off at a stop near you and we could meet. I'd even throw a jar of my peach conserve into my suitcase so I could bring you one. But I have no idea what side of Atlanta you live on. Probably the NE side, LOL!! Anyway, I'd love to be able to meet you gals, but if it doesn't work out for you, I understand. Life keeps us busy, doesn't it.
I can't remember if I told the board that my DD has moved her wedding date to March 4, from the middle of Jan. Because of the cost of renting the sanctuary at her church (!!!) she is having the ceremony and reception here at our home, in the garden. I must say that March will be lots nicer than January. We can even have some flowers blooming then! And the weather will be nice. She and her BF have to get some financial issues settled, and she says that gives them more time to get their ducks in a row. I still have great fears about this marriage because of some big problems coming into it, but, hey, it's not my wedding, nor my fiancé.
Well, better go and hit the street. Hope everyone has a great SB day.
Good morning! Yesterdays foray into dim sum has taken its toll on MMM, and I am up one pound. The food was obviously laced with MSG, which gave me a big headache. I am hoping its just water, and will drop off as I get it out of my system. The dim sum lunch was fun..I went with my kids a few of their friends. The one friend is a professional photographer who is teaching my son some photo stuff, and sold him his old camera. He insisted on buying everyone's lunch because he shot a wedding Saturday and got paid really well for it. My son is hoping to work his way into shooting weddings too. He is a great photographer, so I hope it works out for him.
I still have a headache this morning. I need to get my ducks in a row for Wednesday, and I really don't feel like it. What I DO feel like, is crawling back into bed...except I know I won't sleep! :(
GATOR: I opted out of the meeting tomorrow night, so I ought to be able to get down to Buckhead to meet you. The weather here is very pleasant...I am wearing short sleeves and capri pants (I don't do shorts!) everyday with birks. It will be a bit cooler than Florida, but not significantly. Let me know what time your plane lands, and I will call Talitha and we will work out meeting. OK?

Monet, the gain is all water I'm sure. It will be gone quickly. Hope that headache is better soon.
Gator, what a game!. Congrats on the win. I was impressed that they had to put their starters back in. WTG on the loss. You are coming along on a nice even pace.

OK, MMM was not good this morning! I'm back to 230, but I've been on vacation and not totally eating as I should so it's do over time once again! :dizzy: I ordered a book on syndrome X over the weekend as well as a "good carb" cookbook. I hope they have some info and/or recipes I can use to really get us all on track. I need to get back into getting more veggies into our meals. Rachel tried on some of her jeans from last year (it's cool here this morning) and they were a bit snug. :o They were also too short, so I guess it's not just weight gain. ;) I told her to keep them and we'll see what happens. Thanks to the governor we have two days off from school today and tomorrow, so we are off to town to run some errands and then home to clean house this afternoon. Not sure about tomorrow yet. Well, I hope you all have a great day! :smug:

Solly--Welcome to the board. ;) I'm happy to see that you are a football fan like so many of us are here. Perhaps you are a Gator fan! ;) Heh Heh! Anyway, yes, it was exciting. The Cats came to play. It also showed our second stringers that they have a lot of work to do, and I hope that none of our starters get injured!! Our second string QB, Portis, needs to learn how to hold on to the ball.
I walked almost 3 miles this morning and have 8100 steps already. Last week I lost some of my motivation, for I don't know what reason, and didn't really get many days of over 10000 steps. Since my DD has moved her wedding date to March, that gives me 6 months to get more in shape. So, that has kicked the motivation angle up a bit, and I hope to get plenty of walking in this week, even in Atlanta. Also, I was watching a TV show last night on the Discovery Health channel, actually 2 shows in a row. The first was about a 600+ pound woman going through problems related to gastric bypass surgery, and also problems related to just walking and getting out of the house. The other was about a man who weighed 1100 pounds and how he ate, and what was happening to his body as a result of his morbid obesity. Even after a lot of weight loss, and then a stomach stapling, he ate very poorly. One point the doctors made was that some people have an "addiction" to food, and that they really have to stay vigilent ALL THE TIME. The combination of exercise and proper eating was the road map to follow to a life of good health and good weight. Several factors were mentioned that contributed to this "food addiction" and, Monet, leptin deficiency was one that was mentioned. Anyway, it was a little wake-up notice to me to get serious again, and to keep up the exercise and be vigilent in how I eat.
Monet--My plane is scheduled to land at 3:47 tomorrow afternoon. I will not be checking any bags, but will be able to walk right to the MARTA and go to Buckhead. Many times went flying to Atlanta we have had to get in some kind of holding pattern because of the heavy plane traffic, but I hope that tomorrow that won't happen. I am hoping to get to the Grand Hyatt Atlanta in Buckhead about 4:30, as I think the MARTA ride takes about 40 min. and is a block or so from the hotel. I will PM you my cell phone number and if you do the same for me, we can stay in touch that way. Perhaps we can meet at the hotel and have a wine spritzer or something there. My DH says it is a really nice hotel.
Well, I have a lot to do today. Want to pack. Need to go to the store. Need to finish my letter, in French, to my friends in France. Need to arrange the last minute details for my trip to visit my DF on Friday, day after I get back here. My 2 sisters and I will be spending the weekend with him and his wife. We don't think they eat very well, so will be taking food. They live in the panhandle. Bye.
THIN: I highly recommend Mastering Leptin by Byron Richards. New research is showing that Syndrome X, or Metabolic Syndrome is actually Leptin resistance. Unfortunately, most doctors are a bit behind on the research, and it doesn't hit the mainstream medical community for several years. This guy is a clinical nutritionist, and has participated in research on leptin and what it does. He has had success treating his clients with metabolic syndrome. I have metabolic syndrome, and what I have read so far makes SO much sense...plus I have lost 15 pounds since I started following his rules. These are the first pounds I have lost other than fasting or taking a diet drug in seven years!
GATOR: Ok, I will PM you my cellphone number, and my home number. Would you be interested in meeting for dinner? I might be able to drag my sweetie along. Then YOUR sweetie could come too...and Talitha might be able to show up, and we could have a party! :) I need to go find where the Hyatt is. I am sure Tom knows...but I am oblivious to these things.

Good Morning:
I was still at 122# this morning, so I better get my rear-end in gear and eat good this week.
I got called upon again to help plan my next reunion (20-year). I was on the committee to plan the ten year and now here we are planning our twenty year already. I was Student Body Pres when I was in school, but this really falls under Senior Class Pres responsibility, but she now lives in Chicago, and she can't possibly do much from there. It s/b next year, but it is getting so late in the planning stages that I'm not sure what we'll do. A few of us are going to meet Friday evening before our old High School's homecoming game, and then go watch the game; it s/b fun.
I didn't do anything for the challenges last week, so I will tackle them now:
I will try to post my exercise on the exercise board, but if not I will here. My computer is on turtle speed, and it takes forever to move from one place to the other...but I will post it somewhere. They keep promising high-speed internet out where we live....yeah, right!
Water is never a problem for me.
Motivational tip: Tell yourself that you will workout (walk, jog, treadmill, exercise video, gym....) at least 10 minutes, and if you don't feel like doing anymore than you don't have to. I guarantee that after 10 minutes of getting that heartrate up, you won't want to stop, and you will get a good workout in.
Recipe: Spinach Noodle Casserole
8-oz no-yolk noodles (I'd use ww), cooked according to package directions
1 10-oz packages frozen chopped spinach, defrosted and drained
1 TBS light butter, softened at room temperature (I use Smart Balance)
1 cup chopped onions
5 egg whites (or egg substitute equivalent), well beaten
1 cup reduced-fat or fat-free sour cream
1 cup reduced-fat mozzarella cheese, shredded
1/2 cup reduced-fat cheddar cheese, shredded
1/2 teaspoon pepper
(If you like meat, you could add chicken to this recipe too)
Preheat oven to 350 degrees. Coat a 3-4 quart casserole with olive oil cooking spray. Place the noodles in a large bowl, add the rest of the ingredients and mix well. Pour mixture into prepared casserole. Bake covered for 30 minutes. Remove the cover and bake 15 more minutes. Makes 8 servings. This is a great recipe if you like to apply the 40/30/30 rule.
8 servings - Calories 239, Protein 16.1 g, Carbs 29.2g (that's with no-yolk noodles), Fat 7.1 g, Fiber 1.7, Cholesterol 17 mg, Sodium 271 mg.
Monet: thanks for the information on Mel; I may have to track her down. I would love to help others reach their goals; it would be such an awesome feeling. I could continue to take nutrition and training classes, and be able to write them off too; that would be an added bonus. I hope your headache is getting better. I'm sure you will drop that # soon. Enjoy your meeting with Gator; will this be the first time you've met?
BOB: Thanks for the update on Missy. That must have been heart-breaking for her. Give her my best!
Country: Thanks for checking in. I am so glad to hear that you and your family are safe. I hope your power is restored soon. I am glad that your mom's has been already. I hope she hears from her brother soon.
Gator: congrats on the loss!! March will be a perfect month for a beautiful wedding. I can't imagine anyone being able to even stay alive at 600 or 1100#'s. How does anyone get that big? Enjoy your meeting with Monet & Talitha, and have a safe trip.
Solly: Hello!
Thin: Vacation has a way of packing those pounds on. Have you looked into whole food supplementation? It would not be the answer, long term, for the children but would be beneficial. There are some good quality ones you might want to look into...Ruby Reds and Radiant Greens, or Perfect Food. They have the equivalent of a full day's supply of fruits and vegetables in powder form, and you can mix them up together with some juice and drink them down, or mix them in with a smoothie. I use them in the winter when good fruits/veggies are hard to come by, and when I travel. I also buy the girls a gummy-bear vitamin that also has whole food concentrates in them. I think it is a good investment on your health...the recommended amount of fruits/veggies keep going up, and you would have to be eating non-stop to get the recommended amount...they are now saying 8-12 servings for adults.
I think they are recommending 5-7 servings for children. Just something to think about.
Well, I guess I better get going!
Have a great OP day!

Thin, vacations are supposed to be fun and a gain should come off quickly. Welcome back.
Gator, Good thinking. Have a great trip and meeting with Monet and Talitha. Your garden will be a beautiful place for the wedding. Watching what we eat has to be a lifetime committment. Falling back into those bad habits is why we gain it all back +. Have a great visit with your dad. Hope he is feeling better.
Pancho, That is so true about the 10 minutes workout. Getting started is the hard part. Mel reads here so you may be able to catch her or PM her.

Good morning everyone. I'm not weighing right now. Because I'm having such a hard time and its to depressing. But hopefully this will be a good week. My goal is to just make it through the day with eating right. We had a lazy week end here. My DH did get the electric all done in the bedroom and put the paneling back up on the wall. He has patch work to do now on some of the walls before we can paint. Its such a big project. But guess we have plenty of time. LOL.... You'd have to light a fire under my man's butt to get him moving. Well better go get busy. The morning is almost gone...

Hello!
Well I weighed this morning and I am up 2 pounds from friday!. But thats about what it does for me up and down. So Ill see how the week goes and do my offical weigh in on Friday.
I went after work and got my biopsy done. Im not feeling so hot right now. Bad Bad cramping and I still thought I could get maybe 30 min exercise in but Im now doing something I hadnt done in two 1/2 years ( trying not to be too wordy here , so if you all know what I mean :dizzy: ) It kind of scared me but I looked up on the internet on my procedure and says that that could happen. But I opted out on the exercise. Thought I better not push things and take it easy for tonight.
While the dr was doing the biopsy he saw a polyp ( how ever its spelled) on my cervix and is wondering if that could be causing the problem. He tried to get it but it kept retreating upward. So I go back in 10 days for a ultra sound and my biopsy results and he says " Well we will just go back in there and try for that polyp then " You've got to be kidding ! I hope he doesnt think Im looking forward to next week now. Men have it so easy.
Toni- hang in there. Taking it each day one at a time is a good plan.
Nat- your recipe sounds great ! Thanks !
Thin- Im going on vacation in two weeks. A actual real vacation . Well three days 2 maybe 3 nights . Im trying to plan ahead because I havnt been on a "real" vacation in over 2 years well before I was lcing, and Im a little nervous. But I know Im taking a huge cooler to keep in the hotel room and Im filling it with yogurt, LF cheese and triscuits , protein bars, nuts , LF cottage cheese, water and anything else anyone can suggest to have for snacks and at least one meal aday. I figured if we eat breakfast out of the cooler and have a salad for lunches then eat a normal dinner out I should be ok.
Monet- Im sure that pound will be off by tomorrow. I hate water weight. If I eat one tiny thing that has any above normal amount of sodium Im up for sure.
Gator- March will be a wonderful month for a wedding ! How exciting.
Well , Im gonna get my meals planned for tomorrow and need to give dh a call. He didnt make it home today so the phone will have to be the next best thing . Night all.

I went shopping tonight...I found a pair of shoes. I tried on a bunch of clothes, but nothing looked right, or felt right. I was disappointed that the store had kind of changed hands, and the styles were just too young for me.
Dinner tonight was chicken curry on brown rice with mango chutney and collards. I think the curry and collards must have bloated my stomach, cause I felt like I looked like a beach ball in a skirt a few times while shopping! Laura went with me and was disgusted that I did not find anything to purchase! Oh well!
It was raining today, so I did not get out for a walk. I better go tomorrow. I think PANCHO is so right..getting started is the biggest problem for me! Once I start walking, I don't seem to mind it. I wonder why I resist starting out like I do.
CINDY: I had polyps, and fibroid tumors, which is why I had the hysterectomy last year. I think most polyps are benign, but its good to get it checked out. I know exactly what you mean about the cramping. I had to have a biopsy done, and while it did not hurt, I did feel crampy for a few hours afterwards.

You may have already noticed that the ladybug pound counter is right where I put her last week! The scale MUST need new batteries because it simply did not move one single pound! I have a the sneaky feeling that poor hydration and TOM are hurting me. I will just hang in there and not worry about that one little bit! Water anyone?
My observation of late is that my friends all seem to complain about their weight and want to do nothing about it, then sit down to seat a chocolate brownie with cream cheese frosting or apple pie ala mode. HEEELLLLLLLOOOOO!!!! All the while they are quizzing me about why I'm not joining in with the dessert consumption or drilling me about my "diet." Haven't these folks figured out by now that there is NO magic bullet? If there were, we wouldn't need exercise or a goal weight. Oh well, you can't save them all. :dizzy:
Had busy days Saturday, Sunday and today. Going to a knitting group in the morning from 10-12 in an attempt to get out of the house a little bit more. Hope the ladies are fun and Miss Baby is good.
I'm headed south Friday with "Tad" for several days to go see my family. My 94 y.o. g'ma is not doing well and I'd like to spend some time with her. In preparation for that trip I may not have as much time to post as usual. Poor dh is gonna be so lonely next week!
I hope everyone has a good evening! Will check back tomorrow and will certainly get some new batteries for that scale!
Ciao!

Good Morning
If you all hear me talking to myself, it's because I need a good talking too. Can't seem to get my head on straight the last few days. So if the talking doesn't work, someone is going to have to slap me silly. I have a few things on my mind and those old habits creep right back in. I need to realize food is not going to solve anything, only make it worse.
BOB, What a game! I had about given up on the Vols and low and behold they pull it out. Maybe Phat Phil should start out with Clausen. Congrats.
Frog, I can't save myself, much less the world. At least I know what I need to be doing. Just gotta do it. Have fun at your knitting outing. I must need new batteries too
Cindy, I think cramping is normal. But you were smart to pass on the exercise. Give it a day.
Toni, hang in there girl. One day at a time or 1 hour if need be. I need to get my head on straight too.
Monet, I think a lot of the styles are too young. There seems to be no middle ground. Too young, too old.
Have a sugar bustin day!

Good Morning! I just finished breakfast. I am drinking tea for a few days, and laying off the coffee. Here is the menu: smoothie made with frozen strawberries, 1/2 ww bagel with light whipped cream cheese, tea with a touch of agave.
I think we have things arranged for the meet up tonight. Tom and I will ride down to Buckhead and meet up with Gatorgal and her Gatorguy. I had hoped we could meet them for dinner, but Tom could not get away early enough this week to manage it.
I decided last night to take the shoes I bought back. I put on a pair of the trouser socks I bought, and the shoes and sat down at the computer. Not even five minutes later, my toes were throbbing from being pinched. I don't want to go through 'stretching' the shoes, or trying to break them in. I am very seriously considering going over to a place that sells dance supplies and seeing if I can find a pair of black ballet slippers. They would be soft enough for sure. While I am out, I think I will check out Goodies and Kohls. I don't need much, but I don't want to wear the same outfit every other week! :)
I hopped on the metal monster and was pleased to see I had dropped back to within a 1/2 pound of my recent low. Now if I can just make some more progress! I would love to be where I was when I had surgery almost a year ago. That gives me 2 1/2 weeks to lose six to seven pounds. Can I do it, or would I be setting myself up for failure??

Good morning all. I sure hated to climb out of the warm covers this morning. But knew I'd better get up and start my day. I tripped on a box yesterday that I had been packing for the Grandkids Halloween and think I broke my toe. It sure is sore and bruised this morning. So I'm hobbling around today. Haven't had breakfast yet just my coffee.
Cindy- I hope you're feeling better today.
Monet- Sorry your shoes didn't work out. Good thing to take them back instead of trying to wear uncomfortable ones.
Frog- I'm sure that scale will go down next week! I have a friend who does the same thing about her eating. And then will tell me she eats right and can't understand why shes not losing. I have to hold my tounge.
Solly- Hopefully we'll get going and stick to it. I'll be rooting for you...
Pancho- Your recipe sounds so good. I'm going to have to try it...

We are still at mama's. Our power is still out. We were finally able to get some gas right before they ran out again last night. :) Bread and ice are no where to be found. I take that back. We finally found a few loaves at the stop and go of all places. I am a sugarbuster drop out right now. Hopefully once I get home I'll get myself back together. It's been extremely hot so I haven't been walking like I should. A front is suppose to come through on Thursday. That will be AWESOME. :)
Mama's other line is down since the storm so I have to make this short. Each of you is a blessing. (((Everybody)))

I went to Kohls this afternoon after returning the shoes that pinched. I found a pair of gray pants and a nice striped shirt and got them. I really had in mind a khaki skirt, but couldn't find one. Hopefully, I can make it through the day with the shoes I have. I think I will wear trouser socks (since I got some cool ones last night) with my shoes and see if that helps.
I am waiting for Tom to get home. We will grab something quick to eat...I am thinking leftovers...then head downtown to meet Gatorgal. I intend to carry my digital camera and will make sure we get a few pictures to post.
Laura got up late this morning, and did a bunch of cleaning. My poor den has not looked so good since I had a party here in June! I don't know what she did with all the junk from the laundry room that was still piled up in the den since Tom has not finished working on the plumbing in there....but I honestly don't care! I am ecstatic that it looks presentable. She even vacuumed!
I will get on tonight and hopefully have time to post the pictures, and let you all know how it went.

Hi everyone! I just got in from meeting Gatorgal and her Gatorguy. We sat and chatted for several hours. Its funny how you can find so much to talk about with someone you only know online! Gator's husband was really nice, and I enjoyed meeting him. Gail was exactly like she is in her posts to me. It was great getting to meet her at last! Here is a picture I took. Gator is sitting in the front, I am in the middle in the back and Tom is on the left, Mr. Gator is on the right.
I teach tomorrow, so I need to get to bed soon. I will post more tomorrow.

Hi everyone,
I'm actually able to post now because my DH brought a laptop that his business owns up to Atlanta. So I can tell you about the great visit we all had meeting Monet and her DH.
We met at our hotel about 8 pm. and sat in a quiet and out-of -the way spot near the bar. Monet is just like I imagined her, and she and Mr. Monet make a great pair. Monet, as you can see from the pix she posted is very pretty, but what you can't see is that she has beautiful skin, and her face is young looking as a result. She seemed to be a "Jill of all trades" for things creative, while her DH filled in the gaps with the scientific organizational stuff. I kept thinking as we were visiting that he had to be so great to drive her across town at night to meet some woman and husband that they "knew" only through a weight-loss board. That's gotta be love! True to her UGA heritage, Monet wore a red shirt and black pants. HA ha, get it, u. OF Ga. red and black!! Anyway, we talked about everything, and just had a great time.
Today Talitha and I have plans to get together this afternoon.
Monet--I was really impressed with our discussion of the Leptin program and what your husband had to say about it. With his background, your DH obviously gave it some thought, so you may have finally found the ticket for what is gonna work for you. It was interesting to hear about the linkage of leptin with all the other "stuff" going on in our body. Keep pluggin', gal, and a year from now you'll be a babe. The hardest part of any plan is that life keeps getting in the way of our best intentions. For example, tonight my DH's cousin and husband, who are gourmets, are taking us to some really fancy place, with high caloric stuff. Sometimes there are trade-offs, and the trick is to weave through all the "assulting stuff" with grace and success.
All SB gals--the main thing I learned from my discussion with Monet about the leptin program she is following is that, basically, people in the US just simply eat TOO MUCH. And we eat too often; that is, we are always munching and we never give our bodies a break--a time just to rest from digesting food. In fact, many of us probably don't really know what hunger feels like, because we never allow our bodies to get to that point. So, her plan to not snack between meals and to not eat anything after dinner, along with eating a higher protein breakfast and a couple of other things that I forget right now, reminds me why things got out of control for me, weightwise.
I got 12000 steps in yesterday. All the walking in the Atlanta airport makes it easy to get in a bunch of steps. I just had to show Monet the pedometer I was wearing. I didn't tell her, but my DH was also wearing his. He, however, got in only about 7500 steps because he was in a course all day long.
OK, I'm gonna check off now. Hope everyone has a great day.
pS. BOB--really exciting game against LSU, eh. I thought the VOLS were gonna lose after the first half. I think the Tigers just ran out of steam in the 4th quarter.

Still without power. Praise God they brought in some water ice and food for those in my community and surrounding areas. I've been so worried about those who can't get out. My neighbors aren't on a well like us so we were able to get some fresh water for the dogs and horses yesterday. They had rolling black outs in mama's area so it was without power for 8 hours. Because of her health she can't take the heat but she did okay.
Monet...loved the picture. I bet it was so neat to meet each other. Are your kiddos at school starting to settle down?
Toni....how is your toe doing?
Cindi...praying all your test come out well.
Frog..I can't remember if I welcome you back with all that has been going on lately. ((hugss)) Welcome back. :)
Poncho...thank you for your prayers and concern. How are your little ones doing?
Jack-K...howdy woman.
Bob...are they through with all the layoffs? How are you doing?
Julia...congratulations on your new little one.
Tech...morning to you too. How are things in your neck of the woods?
Time to put on some coffee. I'm going to do my best to get back on plan today. I've been eating like I ate four years ago and it isn't pretty. :)
Love and hugs,

Good Morning:
I thought I'd check in for a quick post. I tried to get on and post yesterday and had individual notes for everyone, but my computer wouldn't let me on to post for some reason. GRRRR....
Lane and I will be leaving in awhile for our general meeting for the Mom's Club; it will be at Peter Piper Pizza today, so Lane will enjoy that. I am heading up the Secret Sis program, and have to be there to give out profiles and explain the program (it's like a Secret Santa). We will then go to the gym, and then run some errands before picking up Britt & other girls from school.
I was at 121#'s this morning, and plan to be good today too. I hope to hit that 120# by Monday.
I volunteered in Lane's class yesterday; it was fun and interesting. I was a little disappointed in her behavior (very grabby, not sharing, etc....), but the teacher's told me that she was just acting out since I was there, and that she is usually very easily re-directed in those types of situations. I do have to say that "most" of the children in there were acting pretty much the same. They are the early 3's, and when they see something they want, they just try to take it regardless of who has it, and they haven't gotten the concept of sharing down yet. Did I mention that Lane has a set of triplets in her class? They are so cute...two boys and one girl; they seem to get along so well too.
Britt had a Johnny Appleseed party planned at school today; if it weren't for that, I probably would have kept her home. She had that chest cold for 3-4 weeks, and no sooner got over that and got another cold....now the drainage is making her cough again. I gave her cough medicine, rubbed her chest with chest rub, gave her a nose strip and turned her vaporizer on, and she still coughed the majority of the night; she must be exhausted today. She has an appt. with her homeo dr. tomorrow, so I will see what they have to offer; I need to get her immunity boosted somehow.
WONDERFUL WEDNESDAY.....The girls don't have school tomorrrow, Friday or Monday, so other than the appt. Britt has at dr. tomorrow a.m., we don't HAVE to do anything if we don't want to. I am sure we will if Britt is feeling better, but we can go at our own pace.
Monet & Gator: Thanks for sharing the pictures; it is so nice to put names with faces. It sounds like you had a wonderful visit and have a great deal of respect for one another. What troopers the DH's are for "tagging" along. Enjoy your visit with Talitha, Gator.
Everyone else....have a fantastic OP day. I will try to check in later.

Wednesday so soon? Have been peeking in to see what's going on but little time to post. The Tadpole is asleep right now so I can get in a quick post.
Scale has mooooooved 2 pounds in 2 days :cb: so I'm pretty happy about that. I'll wait until I get back from my trip to move the ladybug. That'll give me 3 weeks with SB to really see how I'm doing.
My mom told me yesterday that she may come back home with me! :D How exciting for me!!! She came and stayed with us for a month after the baby was born and I cried like a baby when she left. But with that in mind I need to do a little extra tidying up in addition to packing and routine housework - busy, busy, busy.
MONET & GATOR - So glad you got to meet! It's fun to make a connection with folks on the board. I'd be willing to bet that GATOR has met the greatest number of people on the SB board.
GATOR - you look just as pretty as you did a few years ago when we met! Fabulous. I had to laugh at the color scheme you and DH are wearing. Was that intentional?
MONET - You look like the way cool and kind and talented "art lady" that I always loved to have in school! I have to admit that I had a hard time focusing on the sermon Sunday because I was picturing you knitting during the service. I have taken a knitting project to MANY a professional workshop because I also listen better when my hands are moving, but I've never knitted in church. I'd like to see the reaction of my fellow congregants when I whip out my yarn and needles. I got some great yarn yesterday that was 50% off at the local yarn store. Plan to use it for Christmas present gift-making. My Christmas tree hat pattern book came yesterday! So exciting! It's unbelievably cute! Ran to the yarn store and of course they didn't have any yarn in the colors I need. I'll have to go to the yarn store in a larger city. May wait and go to Hobby Lobby with my mom next week.
COUNTRY MOM - Glad that you're safe. Hope that you'll be home soon. We were posting at the same time. Thanks for the welcome. Glad to hear that supplies are now reaching your area.
PANCHO - We were posting at the same time. Sounds like you have a busy day planned!
BOB - Congrats on the win. I have to confess that I turned off the game because it got so lop-sided. What a mistake! Love games that end with a huge comeback. Probably kept Fulmer from having a complete coronary, especially after last week's game.
MELF - Hoping you're well and safe and dry!
MEL - HOWDY
TONI - You're right about taking it one day at the time. I didn't see a loss on the scale for a week then it moved 2 pounds in 2 days. Patience is the key! Don't give into the depression. If you're anything like me you'll end up shoving your feelings down your throat with a fork!
FILLESE - Hope that your event went well.
CINDY - I had a similiar exam over 10 years ago. I had a few minor procedures and an out-patient thingy and have had normal paps since. Hope you have the good outcome. Men may have it easier some time, but just remember the "cough" and the prostate exam they get to have. No thanks.
I have some great recipes to share with you but no time yet to do so. Will get them typed up as soon as I can. Maybe next week when mom is here. Gotta run for now. Will check in again!

Frog--So you noticed the blue and orange!! We tried to keep it understated, but am impressed you noticed. :)
I can't stay and chat because Talitha is picking me up in a few minutes. See ya.
Fillise--We miss you on this board and are afraid you are leaving us. Come baaaaaack!

Hi everyone...just a quick hello. I'm working on a 'lapghan', which means I'm too lazy to make an afghan, so its going to be short so that it just covers from the waist down while sitting in a chair. It's for a fundraiser auction for Kyle's preschool. My mom's painting a picture of a the local lighthouse, which she usually gets pretty good bucks for, on wood.
Anyhow...just wanted you to know that my hubby is home this week on vacation, so I'm not on the computer as much as usual.
Also, I'm down two pounds to 158...WOOHOO!! I've been breezing through the posts and thanks to Monet for posting a picture of her and Gator! I love a visual and now I know what you guys look like ;)
I'm slowly gravitating to my new Mac. Although I still like my Dell better at this point.
Other than that, get this...the other night I came downstairs after getting the kids to bed and my awesome DH had soft music playing and cushions and blankets on the floor and candles lit. All so he could give me a back rub with lavendar lotion!! I nearly fainted!! It was soooo nice. He had a glass of Arbor Mist, too. Just thought I'd add that in because sometimes I say unflattering things about my husband from time to time when he gets me upset, so I thought it was fair to add some of the good stuff, too.
Okay...I have to go work on my lapghan. I've gone through three patterns and unravelled them and now I'm about to start idea #4. :^: Its all a creative endeavor and getting started is sometimes half the battle.
Replies when I get a chance...Kris

I have orange roughy defrosting in the microwave, so I will grab the few minutes and post. (And NO Gator...I did not pick Orange fish to impress, or signify to you that I had crossed over from UGA to UF! ;) )
School today was awesome. I rearranged the room, and used my 'extra' table as a demo area. I had the kids come stand around the table while I demonstrated what we were going to do. It facilitated discussion and they all really got into the project. So much so, that a 40 minute project has turned into two weeks! I explained that their brains has two halves, and one was for math and speech and the other was for spatial and art...and when they talked, they were 'blind' to art. When they started talking, I just loudly commented on their being too many blind artists in the room, and they all seemed to quickly get back into a quieter frame of mind! A few things upset me today, but none of them had to do with the classes or the kids. One was at lunch, the other teachers basically ignored me. I am sure it was not intentional, but it was kind of weird and a bit disconcerting none the same. The other was that there was a pep rally this afternoon as a kick off for a fund raiser they are doing. Since there was no school Monday and Tuesday (Like Thins school...Gov asked for it) they rescheduled it from Monday. But, no one told me about it. So, I was waiting for my last class, and finally went up to the office to inquire if the noise I was hearing was indeed a pep rally and was it going to end before the end of school. It lasted about ten more minutes, but that cut the fifth through seventh grade class from 50 minutes to less than 30! So, ALL my classes next week will be completing a one class period project. You can tell these kids have never been taught ART. They don't know how to color properly...ie short strokes, hold the crayon like a pencil, etc. The oldest class was honestly not a lot better in drawing skills than the kindergarteners! That is going to change. After next week, I will start in heavy with the drawing lessons.
Another big disappointment was to find they STILL don't have my paperwork completed and I have to wait on the headmaster to go over to hand the stuff in with me. So, no paycheck until October 15. sigh.
Gotta go do dinner...will be back later!

Clarification: Gator claims I was wearing red and black. NOT SO! I was wearing red and NAVY BLUE! Honest! :) And Gator's peach conserve? Oh, my! We had a bit as dessert after dinner tonight and it is divine! Even my son, who does not like sweets, enjoyed it.
Dinner tonight: orange roughy with a bit of parmesan on top, broccoli and brown rice. Peach conserve, a tablespoon of almond butter, and a glass of white wine and port. (its Wednesday! I feel like I can indulge after school on Wednesdays!) Its amazing how much one glass of white wine and one glass of port effects me!
TECH: I am hoping the idea of being better at drawing because they are quiet will settle in and I will see an improvement. One class is about hopeless though. They have one child that is obviously seriously ADD...he can't be quiet for ANYTHING. He tends to be a catalyst...and its not pretty. :( If I can capture his focus, things will be totally cool I think....

Good morning! I just finished breakfast: a blueberry smoothie with cocoa added, and coffee with half and half.
So far this morning, I saved a baby chipmunk from two of my vicious cats. The one year old male is whining to go back out, but I don't want him to find the poor chipmunk, so I am keeping him inside. The other one playing with the chipmunk is easily distracted and a bit on the dumb side, so I left her out.
I plan to go for a walk after dropping James off at work. The weather is good for walking. Its about 75, and not supposed to get much warmer. We may have to turn off the ac if this keeps up! Its been a weird fall so far....usually the weather gets cooler in early September, but it has been in the 90's all along!
I will be back later!

Good morning
I was out of the office all day yesterday attending a class and couldn't get on here.
I am searching for some duct tape. I need it to put over my mouth to stop the eating. I had a big disappointment yesterday and I am turning to food. (I know, just an excuse). But I am trying to get my resolve back. I was so tempted to pull into McDonald's today for a bisquit, but passed it by and ate my legal breakfast. That is a start. Exercise has been non exsistant this week. Next week WILL be better.
Monet, Look at the bright side, your Oct 15th check will be a nice one. Sounds like the kids are warming up to you. I don't understand the teachers ignoring you though. Give them time, once they get to know you, they will have to love you like we do.
Tech, how sweet of your DH. Mine would never think to do that. Not a romantic bone in his body. :cb: Great job on your new low.
Country, glad you all are getting relief in your area. It has to be hard eating OP in such a stressful situation. Heck, I'm stress eating for you! :fr:
Gator, what a great pic. I loved seeing who people are. You get these mental pics and they never pan out that way. Glad you all had such a great time.
Cindy, glad you are feeling better. How long before you hear something on the biopsy.
Panco, I'm sure Lane's behavior was b/c you were there. Kids seem to show off around the parents. Enjoy your long weekend.
Frog, Congrats on the 2 lb loss.
Melf, so glad you are back and safe. How wonderful you can take refugees in your home.
Have a great day.

Hi, this will be quick because we are leaving to walk around a little bit before we have to leave here to head to the airport and go back home. Talitha and I got together yesterday and I had a great time with her. She is the greatest, a wonderful mother of 2 precious children and a woman who definitely has a head on her shoulders. She and I have about the same amount of weight we'd like to lose, so I'm praying that a year from now we both will be at our goal. We took a picture of both of us together and I will post it when I get back home. Actually I probably will send it to Monet, who will post it.
I did not get my steps in yesterday because there is not a really great place to walk around this hotel. I've been too busy to go to the mall and do some walking, so I hope to get a walk in after I get home this afternoon. Actually, I will hit the ground running when I get home, because I am fixing a pie and a cake to take up with me when I leave to visit my DF tomorrow. I also want to fix some real meals, lasagne, tettrazini, and a meatball dinner with veggies. I don't think my DF's wife really fixes any food to speak of, and so they probably have not been eating very well. My DF is fairly thin, and has no energy, although that probably has to do with muscle atrophy. He is 89 on Monday. So, I will be cooking up a storm late this afternoon and evening, and hope I don't overdo.
I'll be gone all weekend, so I'll miss the chatter Fri, Sat and Sun. Y'all be good, now, while I'm gone!!! ;)

Grrrr... I just spent over an hour working up an order from a art supply company that is approved for me to order from, and the connection or their website, flaked out and I lost it! Their layout to find stuff stinks, so it will take me another hour just to find it all again, and put it in the 'cart'. I think I give up for now. :(
Lunch was leftover chicken curry on brown rice and ice tea with agave. As soon as my daughter is ready, we are heading over to Wally World and doing some walking and shopping. She will probably shop...and I intend to walk. :) Then, after I rack up some steps, I intend to get a few things and check out the clothes items there. They carry the Hanes/JMS stuff there, and are usually cheaper than their online store.
GATOR: I will look forward to the picture of you and Talitha! Have a good trip home!

Hello everyone!
I'm back and worn out! But the event is over and went very well yesterday. I will tell you a little about it.
I was appointed by the governor to the Alabama Women's Commission and yesterday we hosted an event called "Women's Day at the Capitol." I was chair of the event and it has consumed my life for the last month. We had speakers in the morning at the State Capitol and then a luncheon for 200 women at the Governor's Mansion. Paula Deen (from the Food Network) was our speaker at the luncheon. It was a good day--hot as blazes--but that wasn't something I could control. Paula Deen was as nice and she could be--that woman is a hoot. What you see on the TV show is what you get!
Now that the event is over I feel like I can get back to my normal work.
I can do quick replies.
Monet, Gator, and Talitha--I'm glad ya'll got to meet up! If I hadn't had to be in Montgomery, I would have driven up. Thanks for the picture!
Solly--Welcome to the SB board!!!! Didn't I read over on one of the other 3FC boards that you were an Auburn fan? WAR EAGLE!!
Country--Glad to hear from you!
Melf--You too!
Frog--Are you and the tad headed this way? Glad to see that scale is movin for you.
I've got some letters to get out so, better get to work!
You'll hear from me more often now!
Have a great OP day everyone!

Good Day. I was down to 120# today...yea! I didn't eat much yesterday though.
I took Britt to her homeo dr. to get her back on track with allergies, etc. I also had my thermogram done (supposed to be better at detecting breast irregularities than mammogram, and can see things earlier as well...it is based on heat findings). It is not invasive at all; it's like having your picture taken (naked).
Lane now has a runny nose and is sneezing, so she has caught Britt's cold. We are home, taking it easy today.
Frog: Have a fantastic trip. It would be great if your mom could come home with you for awhile!
Tech: congrats on the 2# loss; that is fantastic. Wow, how romantic of your DH!!
Monet: Sounds like a fun day at school; it sounds like you are so organized. You get those kids in line! That paycheck will be here before you know it; October is only a few days away...can you believe it? How frustrating to lose that order. I can so relate. We do not have high speed internet service, and I was putting my Tae-bo tapes on E-bay the other day, and after spending about 30 minutes listing it, my computer froze up, and I had to restart it and start over....GRRR!
Melf: I am so glad that you are o.k, and back online. Just check in when you have some time, and all your company is safely back home.
Solly: Good job passing on that biscuit! You stay strong!
Gator: Glad you enjoyed your visit with Talitha; I can't wait to see a picture. Have fun cooking!
Fillise: Sounds like you pulled off an awesome succesful event....now breathe! We look forward to seeing more of you now.
Here's the deal on my gym ordeal: My credit card is giving me back $737.33 of the $915.18 that I pre-paid to the gym. So, that's a loss of $177.96, but I did use the gym for a few months and got one massage and had the "free" childcare, so I can't complain too much. GET this though....I talked to the manager at my current gym, and he told me that if I can prove that I pre-paid my other gym for 3 years, that he will give me 16 months free at this gym I'm at now (that's a savings of about $350). So, I win in the ordeal afterall! So, I am a happy camper!
Well, the kids are getting hungry, so I better go!

EVENING EVERY BUDDY!!!
I suddenly felt this strong breeze around my arse, and lo and behold it was MONET'S BROOM SWINGING REALLY CLOSE TO MY BACKSIDE!!!
AND....HERE I AM!!!
Sorry I haven't been around, but it's been really bad at work and here's the scoop.
My Boss was due back on Oct 3, then we got this email the other day stating that she would be retiring and there would be a reception in our office on Wednesday! PERIOD!!!! IN AN EMAIL....how crappy is that???? Well, she came yesterday and I talked to her for a while (we've worked together for 17yrs). Donna told me that even if she hadn't retired that she wouldn't have stayed on in her job because she couldn't and wouldn't be the kind of Manager that they wanted her to be. (badass) On a good note, she put her resume on CareerBuilder.com (sp?) and got a hit...she is moving to Rocky Mount, NC and will be the Sr Financial Analyist making twice what she got here and in the beginning, will have no one uder her. She has now put off her wedding until Feb (but will still come here to get married). AND..it turns out that the man who is over Information Systems there used to be the Director (of IS) at our hospital back in the 80's! She is so excited and looks so stress free! I hate to lose her, but she has hit PAYDIRT!
As for us????? We have a new Manager and I've known him for years. He will be fair and he's also a really nice person. Things are changing, and our new Director is a ***** but hopefully, we'll make it. I'm still really stressed, but my medication will help with that. The Consultants are still there stirring things up so keep your fingers and toes crossed for BOB and everyone else in my department.
FROGGIE.... So Sorry I wasn't around to meet and greet when you came back...I've missed you and a TADPOLE to keep you company! She's beautiful and I can't wait to see more pictures.
More tomorrow....

One more day to go for the weekend! :D
Doing well this week on the eating so Im hoping for good news tomorrow morning when I visit the scale ;)
I have a question. Is instant whole grain brown rice ok? I bought some last weekend and cooked it tonight. But then got thinking if its ok. I usually make the brown/wild rice blend that takes forever to cook and most work nights I dont have enough time to make it so I thought Id try this instant one. The ingredients says: Precooked long grain parboiled brown rice.
Tomorrow Im taking Mom to dinner , her choice, and I think she opting for a texmex resturant we have here in town. But I think they have some chicken dishes that I may be able to get that are LC and LF.
Monet & Gator- Great Pic. You both look Great, ( and your guys are very handsome too). Sounds like you guys had a wonderful time! Ive only met one person from my other board so far. It was really fun. To bad we all dont live closer to have one big get together.
Monet- Sounds like the class is going well. Im sure the other teachers will warm up to you soon.
Solly- I go back to the Dr next Tues for a ultra sound and another pelvic and hopefully they have the biopsy results back then.
Hey, you did good bypassing Mcdonalds. When I get like that and think Im going to go where I shouldnt..then I talk myself out of it I feel so much better about myself later. It does a person good when they can conquer their cravings and not let them take hold.
Gator- have a great time !!
Susan- how fun you got to meet Paula Deen! I love her shows.
Nat- wow what a deal on that gym. That would be awesome to get that long free !
crystle- I hope things get better for you soon (((hugs)))
Catch you all tomorrow !! Night :)

CINDY: I am not positive, but I think the parboiled brown rice is high GI so not a good choice. I am sure its better than white rice! :) I use a pressure cooker for brown rice, and it cooks in less than 15 minutes. If you are interested, I highly recommend the Fagor brand Splendid in about a six quart. You can cook SO much in them, its a great addition to anyone's kitchen. I fix chicken breasts for salad in mine in 12 minutes, cut up chicken in five..its just amazing! :) Keep us posted on the tests and results. I know its worrisome...and you are doing great not eating from the stress! Next time I head north, I will come by and meet you! It can't be TOO far out of the way!

Oh darn it. Oh well. I ate probably a cup of it tonight. And darn it again cause my mom just gave away her pressure cooker and she offered it to me but I have never used one so I said I didnt want it so my sister in law took it and has been cooking up a storm with it lol.
What about a rice cooker? Do those cook rice any faster? I can always cook it the night before if I know Im gonna use it. Ive done that before. Guess thats what I will have to keep doing.
Ellen
09-29-2005, 11:36 PM
CINDY: Why not ask for a Fagor Splendid for Christmas?? :s: If your mom's was an old one, you are better off letting the SIL have it. :) I LOVE mine...and BOB has five of em! I have two and a half...two are part of a set with only one lid. You can make amazing beef stew in 15 minutes! Brown rice in 15! I use it almost every night. And soups in it are just divine! I made a shrimp chowder with leeks that tasted like a fine seafood restaurant dish. I was so proud of myself! :) A rice cooker is a nice appliance...I believe you can measure everything into them, and set it to delay start. Most have a keep warm feature, so you could turn it on in the morning, and have hot rice waiting when you walk in the door.

Good Morning! I am leaving soon for my volunteer stint at the church office. Breakfast was a strawberry smoothie. Of course I had coffee with half and half too. :) I am studying a drawing curriculum I intend to use with my students. When I get home, my neighbor is coming over to do the first lesson with me as my guinea pig. The neat thing about the curriculum is that it was designed for ages PreK-adult. And boy does it work! The cover drawing is done by a five year old and I would be excited if my 7th graders could do as well!
I am a bit worried at how slow the board is. Its Friday, and we only have three pages... I hope its just a fluke.
I will check in later.

Hello. I've been lurking this week. Just haven't had much free time to post. I've been to the Y every day. Today I'm going to try Salsa cardio. Sounds like fun!
We had such a fun time with gator on Wednesday. It was great!! I love having a face to put to the posts. I got to bring her back to my house for a bid so she could see my lived-in work in progress. I can't tell you how much I enjoyed getting to know her better. I too am in love with the peaches. The kids have both loved them too. YUMMMMM! So who's coming to Atlanta next?
Trav is leaving work early this afternnon and we are going camping!!! I am so excited. We go up to a small secluded site near Talulah gorge. We get to camp in the woods right along the water. I love it!!
Monet- Looks like I'm not the only one who's been MIA?
Poncho- I had a thermogram done. That's how they found the Autoimmune Thyroid issue. I was so cold by the end of standing there!!!

Good Morning Girls
Got a small walk in last night. It was cooler and it felt good.
No big plans for the weekend yet.
Gator, enjoy your visit with your DD.
Monet
BOb, I'm glad Monet got the broom after you. Now stay put. Glad things are improving at work. Hopefullyyour new boss will work out and things will get back to normal.
Fillise, Wow, you are one important woman. I'm impressed. Sounds like you did a great job. Now relax and enjoy yourself. Glad you will have more time to spend with us.
Pancho, that Thermogram sounds much better than the old vice. :fr: I don't think I have heard of them here. You did win on the gym deal if you can get the extra time free. Great for you.
Cindy, good luck at the TexMex place. Watch out for those chips. They are killers. Sending prayers for your Tuesday appt.
Talitha, Great going on getting to the Y every day. That is awesome. Glad you had a great meeting with Gator. That would be fun meeting some people from the board. Have fun camping.
Have a great day

What a BEAUTIFUL day here in my part of Texas. It's not even 70 yet. It sure beats the temperatures from earlier this week. Eating has been tons better since I've gotten home. Gator and Talitha, what an awesome picture of you two.
Monet...I'm so sorry that you are having trouble ordering online. I know what a pain that can be. I'm also sorry the other teachers are being such toots toward you. Hopefully they will warm up as they get to know you. You are such a blessing to us.
Jack-K...Thank you. Can you pass that duct tape. :) As much as eating has improved I still have a ways to go. I finally got to walk after taking a week off last night. It was wonderful.
((Bob)) I hope things settle down at work soon. And that some good changes happen for ya'll.
Poncho...super on the savings at the gym.
Cindy...wtg with your good eating this week. The instant brown rice isn't good because it's been processed so much. But as long as you are eating well I don't think this one time will mess things up.
Toni....how are you? Is your toe on the mend?
Time to get moving this morning. :)
Love and hugs,
Crystle

I was in the middle of a drawing lesson when my neighbor and only student realized it was Friday and her daughter had early release from school...15 minutes prior to the realization! She flew out to get her. :) We are having fun doing this lesson. I think the kids are going to love it. And, her older daughter is a student at Savannah College of Art and Design and she said a lot of her friends throw away perfectly good art supplies they don't need anymore. SO, she is going to collect them for her 'little sister's art department at school' and bring them to me! She already has a few boxes of slightly used pastels, and other stuff. Woo hoo! I am SO excited.
Ok, off to finish the lesson! :) I will be back soon.

Ok so Im starting the Sugar Busters on Monday and I have been trying to find some info online however theres not much out there. I bought the books and am reading them however I wanted to hear some success stories from people that have been doing Sugar Busters.
If you don't mind - could you share with me how long you have been on sugar busters and how much weight you have managed to lose and also if you have combined exercising everyday with it??????????????
I can't wait to here some success stories - im not just talking big numbers - a success is a success - small or large! ;)

Good Friday afternoon!
Where has Teensy been? I know Heart started work, and is probably busy, but I hope she checks in soon. Where is Jack-K? There are some others missing in action too; where is everyone?
I took the girls to the park this morning, and then to wash the truck, to the bank to get cash, to lunch and back home. They are relaxing, watching a show on t.v., and then I will have to get them bathed and myself showered. I have a meeting tonight (for my 20-yr. reunion), and then plan to go to my old high school's homecoming. The sitter s/b here by 4:30.
BOB: Sounds like Donna got a great new job; sorry you wil be losing her though. I am glad that you know and feel comfortable with your new manager. I will continue to pray for your job security.
Cindy: The instant rice is not as good as the regular, but is still better than the white. I've heard that the rice cookers are not great for cooking brown rice, only white. Maybe they've changed, but that is what I remember.
Monet: Thanks for sharing the pic. of Gator and Talitha. The board certainly is slow; I hope this isn't the typical Fall fall-off; it's too early for that.
Talitha: Good job working out everyday; don't you feel so much better? I am glad to hear that you and Gator had a nice visit. I know what you mean; they really should make those thermogram rooms a little warmer!
Solly: Hi
Country: I can't wait until the temps drop here; we are having some record high temps right now.
Kl life: Hmmmmm....we have alot of BIG losers here...Heart and Teensy have lost over 100#'s each, and we have some others that have lost a lot as well. My personal story goes like this: 8 months after my youngest child was born, I still weighed 152#'s (I am 5'4"), and my body fat was around 23-24%. I started exercising at the gym 3-4 days a week, and tried Atkins for a few months, and did HORRIBLE while on it. I then discovered SB, and within 6 months, I by-passed my goal weight of 130#'s, and hit 120#'s, and had lost 22 inches. I recently had my body fat tested and it came back at 19%. I have worked out for the past few years, and think it will only help while losing the weight. I have some loose skin on my stomach due to my pregnancy, but I could have had more all over my body if I hadn't started toning up while losing the fat. It could be discouraging though, if you are relying solely on the scale because you will start to gain muscle while losing fat, and muscle is heavier than fat, so you may even see a gain sometimes in the very beginning. Taking measurements is a great idea. I am sure you will do great. Feel free to ask any questions at any time; the gals on this board are very supportive. The only "bad/dumb" question is the one you don't ask. Good luck!
I better run!

I spent the afternoon working through the first lesson for this drawing curriculum. My neighbor and I had a blast. I can't wait to try it out on the kids. I need to order stuff, but hopefully, I can get stuff in by the time I need it.
I am cooking brown rice in the pressure cooker for dinner. I plan to cook some cubed beef as country fried steak...the lf, lc way...
I hope everyone has a great weekend! I will be around some, I am sure. Later!

I was wondering if anyone could point me to the other Sugar Busters forum which is a busy one. I used to go there often and lost the link to it. I thought this site had the link to it but I cannot find it anywhere. I've done searches for it but it doesn't come up. I cannot even remember the name of it. If anyone has any links for busy SB forums, please let me know. Maybe one of your links is he forum. Thanks.

Hi Linda, I am sorry we are not busy enough for you. This is an unusually slow week as several of our regular members were effected by the hurricanes, had babies, or are out of town. The last time I stumbled on the other forum, it was slower than this one. Why don't you just do a Google search for the link? As you can see in the posting box, posting links is against forum policy.

just a fly-by! I'm here, pissed at myself. I've practically eaten everything my heart has desired this week and boy has it caught up with me. I was back down to 163 on Sunday, feeling good, in all my clothes, etc...then I don't know what the heck has happened. Some I can blame on stress but no one made me eat. Today I'm all bloated and the scale sucks, it's at 170. The # I NEVER wanted to see again. I'm back to my senses and this is just a step back that I'll overcome. Right now I need to exercise. Pancho- I ordered the intro Power 90 for 15 bucks plus s&h. I like the idea you can get a total workout in under 40 minutes, plus I'm really getting bored with all of my others. How is the Turbojam? Is it hard to do? I'm waiting for it to go on special again. Alright, I gotta go!

Good morning. Well Im just about poopered out already this morning. Been to the grocery, scrubed two bathrooms, vaccumed, then went to the back yard and pruned, trimmed and mowed so now Im ready for a nap ! LOL. Going to my moms this afternoon to do her yard, so Ill be getting in lots of exercise today.
Last night out to dinner with my mom I did succumb to the chips and salsa but kept my portion within reason. I did have a flour tortilla too with grilled chicken breast ( oh and it was LF if that helps , the tortilla) tomato and peppers. This place we went does have a LF menu ( also 1 Lc item and I think it was fajitas with no tortillas) so I opted for a LF choice. Im up a pound this morning but Im almost sure it was the chips. They were awfully salty. But Ive been doing good so far today and mom is making us dinner tonight so Im sure that will be LF/LC type of meal. She said she is making baked apples with splenda for after dinner so that shouldnt be so bad.
Hope everyone is have a wonderful weekend so far. The weather is just perfect here. Couldnt hope for any better !

Just a fly by. I am fixing dinner for a church meeting for 50 Monday night and trying to get ahead on it. I cooked all the chicken for the casseroles in the pressure cookers, and will rip it up and mix it with the soups when its cool. Then I will need to fix the desserts, and I still need to go buy the green beans.
Breakfast was 2 eggs scrambled, 2 pieces of sausage and espresso with half and half.
We ate breakfast late, so we won't eat lunch for another hour or two. I am beginning to feel hungry already, unfortunately.
I am going to go get something done... I will check in later!

Only 4 pages this week... Alright, I can't believe that I did this again to myself. It's probably going to take a week before I see a difference in the way my clothes fit(sigh). I just got thru exercising and I intend to stay OP today. Tomorrow I take the kids to the fair and I know the food will be smelling good. So I plan on eating before we go. Here's my menu for the day:
BF- was 2 sl french toast(made with ww bread and 1 egg)topped with Log Cabin SF syrup, and NSA peach slices(from can). 1 cup 1% milk.
Midmorning- had a tablespoon of walnuts
Lunch- will be a Lean Cuisine(LC) dinner- 200 cals
Snack- unsure, maybe another spoon of walnuts
Supper- 2 grilled tilapia fillets in lemon and butter, legal coleslaw(probably double helping)
I think this is around 1300-1400 calories. The high cals come from the coleslaw that I will be making with fullfat regular mayo. Time to start making my daily menu's again. Well, I don't have a bunch to say so I'll finish checking my email. Check back later.

Just flying by again. I took the afternoon off and knitted while Tom went off to Treeclimbers. I finished one scarf and started another... three down and five to go!
I am about to leave to go to church, so I will check in later, or in the morning. Hope everyone is doing well.
HEART: It sure has been slow... I am glad you are getting back to doing your menus. I hope it helps. How are you liking your job?
Hey, no football updates from BOB???

Heart-Have you tried the Mrs. Butterworth's suger free syrup? My kids love it and I wonder if it's been mislabeled!
Monet- I have been hearing a lot lately about your leptin "friend". Rachel and I watched a show today called "half ton man" about a very morbidly obese man and his struggle just to live. There was a segment on rats and the study of leptin. I have a couple of questions...I know you mention protein shakes you have often for breakfast. What type of powder do you use and is there a chocolate flavor? I'm a chocoholic! :o
Also, I got my syndrome x book this weekend and it mentions several supplements. I wanted to see if anyone has an opinion about any of them...alpha lipoic acid, chromium, coenzyme Q10 and carnitine. Any ideas, or is anyone familiar with these?
I'm hoping to begin exercising more now that the weather is becoming quite delightful. I have a bike and would love to get out and ride some with the kids on their bikes or scooters, but I have the problem of getting a tender bum after I sit on the seat too long. :p Do they make larger seats or whatever to alleviate this problem? I know questions, questions! Thanks in advance for any advice! ;)
