Carb Counters - Snacks for someone who doesn't eat porkView Full Version : Snacks for someone who doesn't eat pork prettynpink 09-22-2005, 04:23 PM I notice that a lot of people snack on pork rinds while following a low carb plan. I do not eat pork and am looking for suggestions on snacks. Giasbash6260 09-22-2005, 09:22 PM VEGGIES, LOTS OF CUT UP VEGGIES, with mustard(if you dont like the taste of veggies)--and mustard has next to no calories, if you choose the right ones of course!! SkinnyAgainSoon 09-22-2005, 11:19 PM I like to snack on string cheese, almonds, deviled eggs, salami/provalone roll-ups, turkey/swiss roll-ups, cottage cheese, black olives, low-carb shakes and low-carb bars. Not all of these are appropriate for induction, but most are. Hope this helps, and good luck! -Sarah lady_adnerb 09-23-2005, 09:08 AM I rarely eat Pork Rinds (because of the taste....and aftertaste). SF Jello w/whipped topping takes care of my PMS sweets craving. And I like pistacchios but they're higher in carbs. prettynpink 09-23-2005, 12:18 PM Okay, the jello is one that I know I can do. How about peanuts cause I need something crunchy and veggies just don't feel like a snack to me. RobinW 09-23-2005, 01:07 PM peanuts are good, but almonds are best. Just make sure you measure out your serving....snacking on these things can get away from you. tickleyourfancies 09-29-2005, 07:39 PM See, when Shawn was describing the Atkins diet a while back..he would state, you can eat all the eggs, broccoli, peanuts..yada yada..that you want. But, apparently he doesn't realize, that even eggs have some carbs... .6 according to the carb counter. anyway...back to the subject here..lol. I personally love pork rinds, however must have a drink close by..makes my throat very dry. I personally, don't like those low carb bars. i've tried a few and just didn't care for the taste. I would strongly suggest looking over the carb counter at www.atkins.com . This breaks everything down for the most part. vBulletin® v3.6.7, Copyright ©2000-2012, Jelsoft Enterprises Ltd.
