Question Best guess on Chipotle Burrito points?

I'm having a hard time guesstimating the points value for a Chipotle chicken burrito. Dotti's site has a message posted by the restaurant chain stating that they can't accurately predict the nutritional value of a burrito since there are so many combintations. They do provide the following guideline:

Here's how much you generally get: 5 oz rice, 4 oz meat (5 oz barbacoa), 4 oz beans, 3 oz salsa, 1 oz cheese, 2 oz sour cream and 4 oz guacamole. Remember, you can always tell the serving people to adjust portions to whatever YOU like.

I'm sorry I don't have my Supermarket companion here to look up these values. I'm also a bit stuck on how to estimate the tortilla, which is *huge*. I love these burritos and don't think they would be awful from a points perspective. I don't usually get cheese, sour cream, or guacamole. Any guesses?

Please advise. Thank you!!!

Oh man, that is so sad. I LOVE Chipotle, but trying to figure out the points, my slide rule doesn't even go up high enough. Where does all the fat come in the burrito bowl though? I mean, chicken, veggies, salsa and lettuce came up to 28g of fat. That can't be right.

Turn your card over on your slide rule for figuring points up to 500 or 550 calories I think.

Or use the formula:

POINTS = (calories/50) + (fat grams/12) - (fiber grams<capped at 4>/5)

ummm Polka dot....hate to tell you but that original post is from 2001 so unfortunately you probably won't be getting that recipe......Try looking under the recipe forum for a burrito recipe or you can post asking if anyone one has a points friendly version of burritos.

You can always make your own using low-fat soft tortillas, lean ground beef, low-fat cheese and low fat sour cream.

Yes-and when the original post was made, the thread starter may have been correct-the nutritional info may not have been on that site at the time. A lot of info is now available that was not in 2001.

LOL! You know I never saw this post back then. But now Chipotle has the info on their website. Actually since tehy are so big you can usually get away with 1/3 - 1/2 of it and it would fit into someone's day if they planned.

Thumbs up Chipotle Fan

[FONT=Comic Sans MS]There's a website I recently found that has a burrito calculator. It's pretty scary! You can add all of your ingredients in separately, and play around to see what makes it lower in calories... and it's really cool. Go to www.chipotlefan.com. My favorite was off the chart, so i cut the dietary fiber, calories, and fat in half. Figured it up on my scale...then doubled it. Yikes! Half is still worth it though!

Try a bowl at Chipolte, rather than a burrito. I get the lettuce, green peppers, onions, chicken, black beans and rice. Much lower in points! and delicious.

Thanks for whoever pulled this up. I went there the other day. I made a better choice then usual. I love that place and limit it to only once every few weeks or so. I can give up the cheese and sour cream. But the guamole (oh I love it so much)
