Hi Sistas,

I think the other challenge thread is dead, so I'll start a new one. If anyone wants to, they can post their September goals here. Hopefully, we will keep this thread active all of September. You can update every day or every week, whatever you want. And you can pop in & out to give support anytime.

Sound like a plan?

I'll go first:

Goal #1: Stay within points goal (26) for 4 out of 7 days.

Goal #2: Use Flex WPA only on 3 of 7 days.

Goal #3: Work out in Y pool 3 days a week for 30 min.

Goal #4: Optional - do 1 mile WATP 2 times a week.

I tried to walk around our block today, and I really could hardly make it. I think the spinal stenosis is getting worse. My whole lower spine & hips practically lock up. When I got back home from walking, I was so depressed about the whole thing, I almost gave up. So, Sistas, if you have it to give, I need a little more support right now. I did stay within points. I've used 25.5 of 26 so far today.

Kitty-You are doing a fabulous job!!! When we have an injury or condition like we need to adapt and slow down sometimes. I think your water workout will be a much better alternative for you. We may not always want to listen to our bodies, we want the weight off and we want it off now! But, there are times when we can't have what we want. In your case it may take a bit longer, and that's ok as long as you continue to progress towards your ultimate goal. You have to stay focused and remember it's not a race, go with what your body is telling you and in the end you will get the results you want!!

I am all about a challenge!

My Goals:
1) Stay on plan. This means water, fruits and veggies, healthy oils, dairy the works. It doesn't work if I don't work it.

2) Follow my 12 week exersice program which follows this schedule for weeks 1-4:
Wednesday: 30 minute Cardio Walk workout
Thursday: 35 minute Incline Intervals workout
Friday: Rest (but I may switch this with Saturday b/c workouts on weekends are rough)
Saturday: 30 Minute Power Mix Workout
Sunday: Rest
Monday: 30 minute Cardio walk workout
Tuesday: 25 minute speed Interval workout

I do not have a specific weight goal for the month. I just want to work the plan and do my best meeting all of it's requirments along with committing to exercise and following through with that commitment. I am debating whether I was to ad my abs and toning next week or next month. We'll see how I feel on next Wednesday.

If I meet my goal I will treat myself to something fun, like a new cd for my workout music or something.

Thanks for starting us a challenge this month Kitty!!!

Mine are:

To stay with in my points, and to not max out on points every day. I need to get used to eating less, and by maxing out every day, thats not going to help me, neither is going over!! :)

To exercise at least 20 mins a day. Its easy enough, I just cant seem to do it! I do great on the weekends, but when it comes to getting up earlier during the week, I don't do it, and then I don't do it when I get home from work.

I know if I can do both, I'll see more of a loss each week.

Good luck Sistas!

~Liz

Oh Kitty pain is such a horrible thing! It isn't easy to even function when in pain let alone try and exercise. Misty gave you some great advice here. Water exercise sounds good. You are doing wonderful with keeping a handle on your points. Look what a victory that is during distress! Weight loss will follow.

My immediate goal is to stay on program thru this yet another holiday week end.

I need to loose four more pounds to get that keychain . Man I want the keychain :)

Way to go Lizzyg! You made me realize something. I was fearful of what am I going to do when I can only have 22 points but I can use five flex points each day and that would keep me at 27 so that is such a long way away but I know it is doable thanks for that tip.

So far so good!!! I used 2 flex points last night. But I don't mind using them, even if you use them you will still lose that's why they give you them.

I didn't work out this morning b/c it was supposed to be my day off, but I have a wedding tomarrow so I decided to workout this afternoon instead of tomarrow. So, I am still on track with my exercise!!

Thanks, everyone. Y'all have inspired me to go to the Y and workout for 30 mins. Yay!! I've been making excuses all day not to go. So I went, did 30 min workout in the pool & I'm home already. 1 down for this week, and 2 to go.

:dancer: I did my work out, I did my workout. I had tow ait until naptime, b/c dh wouldn't watch the kids. He actually sent two 2 year olds out to play BY THEMSELVES!!!! Thinking they were ok if he stayed in the kitchen and looked out at them!! Needless to say I went outside, I had hoped he'd go with them so I could workout before lunch.

Oh well I got in my workout and the kids got to play outside while I enjoyed some fresh air. I have almost completed my first "official" week of my 12 week program and I am still on track! YAY ME!!! LOL

WTG, Misty!!!! :cb: Doesn't it feel good to make good progress toward your goal?

I did too. I've only done 1 pool workout, but the Y was closed yesterday & today. That just leaves me Tues & Wed to get in the other 2. I'm gonna do it, too. I did a 1 mile WATP today, walked 30 minutes in grocery on Saturday. (Hanging on to grocery cart helps me a lot.) So I'm still on plan. I did however, use 12.5 flex yesterday for kid's pizza party.

So, have some cheerleaders on me, lol. You've earned them :D

:cheer: :cheer: :cheer:

YAY! You ladies are kicking butt. Kitty you can't really help it if the place is closed, right. But like you said you have more time yet.

I started my workout and got 16 minutes into before I was interruppted. The kids would NOT cooperate. So I quit. Then I tried again at nap, but DS is off schedule. SO I fed him his lunch and blocked off the treadmill with toy boxes so he couldn't get his fingers pinched. I made it to 26 minutes of the 33 minute workout. Total I did, 42 mintues, although not all at once. So I am counting the 33 minutes complete. And that makes week one of my 12 week workout challenge complete!!!

Misty, You sound like me! I did the same today with starting while kids were asleep and dont you know that the darn youngest woke up 12 mins into my workout? lol I even got up at 6:30 so I could do it. You GO girl!!!! Week One down! I am so proud of you! I didn't work out the past three days (being with the kids and such while DH was gone ALL day.......I just didn't want to do it.) I ate like crap too. I did weigh today though and still at 198. 198! That is still good...I have been doing well today and am drinking my water....went back to the treadmill during the first nap. Got another 28 mins in making that a total of 40 mins today. I rock! LOL...I have also found out we will be leaving here in DEC moving onto VA! YEAH! Coser to home and NO more hurricanes!

You girls are doing GREAT!!!! You keep me motivated....keep it up!

:bravo: Everyone who met or attempted their goals this week. I fall into the "attempted" category. Only did 1 pool work out this week, but I did do a WATP 1 mile & 30 mins walking in grocery store.

Yes, Scarlett, tomorrow is another day.

Hello everyone! How are we doing? I broke my laptop so I was upset last night and did not work out. I decided to stay on track I would do two workouts today. They were only 30 minutes each so I put in an hour and did a "cardio walk" and a "speed interval" workout. So I have completed this week a bit high on points but all my exercise is done. YAY!!

Ok nap time! I have to get everyone changed and in bed so I can shower. Have a great day everyone!

Ok so two weeks done, I met my workout challenge!!!!! I did slip up alot on my points b/c of my binge yesterday, but you know what I am ok with it. Maybe I shouldn't be but I am.

I just finished my regular workout number 11 of the 74 I committed to completley by 12/20. But i really want to see what 28 activity points in a week will get me and see how hard they are to get. So I did an additional 20 minutes of stregth/resistence training. So that gets me 3 points for the day, so far.

Kitty53

WTG Misty. You are my hero if you can get 28 activity points in a week.

You go, Sista!!! :ebike: :wl: :queen: :cheer: :tread: :goodluck:

I got 6 today. 30 minutes on the treadmill-2, 20 minutes weights-1, 45 minutes on the treadmill. This will so be the last week I ever attempt this LOL!!!! But I wnat to see how hard it is. But I won't be home on teh weekend. DId you know that at 197 I'd have to walk at 3 pmh for 60 minutes 7 days a week to reach 28? That is just dumb!

MistySeptember
09-15-2005, 08:08 AM
I am bound and dertermined now to get 28 points in one week. I am up to 9. I will have to do another 45 minutes on the treadmill this afternoon. That is if I can walk LOL. If I go to the mall on Saturday and do a couple hours of leasurley walking do you think that counts?

Kitty53
09-15-2005, 08:41 AM
I would count it. Shoot, I count going to the grocery. LOL
