WW Clubs and Groups - Feisty & Sexy 50 & 60 yr. old #123View Full Version : Feisty & Sexy 50 & 60 yr. old #123 LilyG 06-13-2001, 11:46 PM Oops See my replies on the last thread. Didnt know it was so close to starting a new one! painter5 06-14-2001, 08:22 AM This is my last post for a while. I know there is a computer in the vacation house but I think it is in a room that someone might be using. Also there are teenagers who will probably be on it. I am glad to get away. Yesterday the baby across the street wandered out again. The police have been there a few times. This morning the mom's car is there and the dad's is gone. I feel for the kids because they are so nice. I hope it all works out but I just don't understand how someone can leave their kids like that. Went out with the wicked women last nite and found out that a good friend has breast cancer. We have about 20 of us that go to dinner once a month. Last night we down to a place on the river. Slavika I feel for you and your mouth. That is one way to diet. Good to hear from you Trudy. Sounds like every one has someone sort of hard to buy for on Father's Day. Have a nice week everyone and will "talk" if I get a chance, Peggy slavika 06-14-2001, 09:40 AM  Peggy Hi there. I'm sure you will have a great vacation. Looking forward to hearing about it when you get back. :) My mouth feels a bit better this morning. I see the dentist again at 9:00 (he just wants to take a "look"). This is truly a very restricted diet I am on. Mind you, I did manage to have a bowl of frozen yorgurt before bed last night. Bye Peggy, have fun. LilyG 06-14-2001, 11:33 AM Trudy: I just cant help it. I love Hawaii! Even talked to DH about it agin last night. We thought for a minute and decided we better not go again. ALAS...... Good to see you! Sounds like you have been busy. Peggy: Have a great Vacation! Im sure you will come back all nice and relaxed. Your gonna have a ball! I sure feel for those kids. Its a very sad situation. Slavika: Tell the Dentist to be nice to you! My kind of diet, love frozen Yogurt! At least you got the teeth taken care of. Probaly wont hurt for to long, I hope. survivor 06-14-2001, 12:49 PM Peggy - Here is hoping to a wonderful, relaxing vacation. Maybe when you get back, the situation on your street will be resolved. Slavika - Having sore teeth is my kind of diet--malts, malts, malts. You have to have teeth to enjoy a salad. So here is hoping you are "all better." Trudy - Ain't it a shame we can't keep late nights anymore? Of course, I never could. I was never a wild woman. Men! I know about particular. Leon doesn't want anything "made in China" and there is a lot of that at Wal-Mart. Remember my friend with the grandson who had been molested by his father? Tomorrow they go in for another court session because the father is trying to get supervised visitation. Pray for them that he doesn't. Caleb is finally not afraid of the dark or strangers. Have a good day! Glenda flaggies 06-14-2001, 07:54 PM G'day all, It is a very gloomy day here, rain, hail and wind. A perfect day to surf the net, watch a bit of TV and finish the cardigan for dd:) Slavika I do hope your mouth/teeth are better soon. The first thing I have to do is get in a dentist appointment when we get home before we are off again. Trudy We have fathersday in September though I never buy any fathers day presents, using the excuse that dh is not my father :D . As we get older it is more and more difficult to buy. Good to see you post. I am quite the opposite and sleep very little as I am getting older. I used to be in bed by 8.30, now I mess about till late at night and I am up early again:?: Peggy have a great holiday and I agree with Slavika your avatars are just great, good fun! Sad for the children across the road from you. Glenda If the justice system is anything like our justice system here, that person will probably get visitation rights:mad: After such consistant weight loss, I have only lost .3 kg but at least I have still lost so I have to be happy with that. This weekend we might drive up to where the snow is, about 3-4 hours drive. Throw a snowball and then we can tick it off that dh has finally experienced snow:lol: I just thought I share this joke that I received this am, I thought it was quite funny. An airplane takes off from the airport. The captain is Jewish and the first officer is Chinese. It's the first time they've flown together and it's obvious by the silence that they don't get along. After thirty minutes, the Jewish Captain mutters, "I don't like Chinese." The First Officer replies, "Ooooh, no rike Chinese? Why dat?" "You bombed Pearl Harbor. That's why I don't like Chinese." "Nooooo, noooo... Chinese not bomb Peahl Hahbah. Dat Japanese, not Chinese." "Chinese, Japanese, Vietnamese...it doesn't matter, they're all alike." Another thirty minutes of silence. Finally the First Officer says, "No rike Jews." "Why not? Why don't you like Jews?" "Jews sink Titanic." "No, no. The Jews didn't sink the Titanic. It was an iceberg." "Iceberg, Goldberg, Rosenberg, no mattah...all same." (from Gayle Pearson) :D Have a great weekend all Cheers Maria painter5 06-14-2001, 08:07 PM Maria I liked your joke. Copied it and sent it on. Hope your dh likes the snow. Have fun. Peggy Karen L 06-14-2001, 11:21 PM Peggy Hope you have a great vacation. Slavika hope the tooth is better today. Maria I liked the joke too. We have had the same kind of weather here. Rainy stormy and just plain awful. Even had to cancel 2 meetings today because of storm damage from last night. Sounds as though your weekend was great. Slavika and Lily, Frozen yogurt is one of my favorites too. Trudy some times I'm a night owl. Other times I'm not :?: i always blame it on my age. Mom had her first physical therapy today. She will be going Monday Wednesday and Fridays for a while.. Did decide she needs to wear shorts not a jumper. She's not really happy about having to wear shorts out of her yard. Never has been comfortable doing that.:o My DD has a very good friend who is going to have that Gastro surgery to make her stomach smaller on Monday. i'm so very afarid for her . I hope it all works out as she is very heavy well over 350# at about 5'8" and that is not a good thing as you all well know. She is same age as DD 34 and has such a good giving heart. Everybody think of her and maybe say a few prayers. That surgery can be very dangerous. And it is her last resort. She really has tried every thing. Got to go  Karen Trudy 06-15-2001, 02:16 AM I'll bet everyone is asleep now ~ except Maria who is on the other side of the world. My company just left. We had a spicy tomato soup (and dessert :) of course) for supper, that really bothered me.... I compounded the damage by eating myself silly tonight and now I really have indigestion, so I will be up for awhile. :( Hubby turned on the news and I saw that Brainerd Minn. had a tornado, please tell me that it missed you Karen. It sure has been a bad weather day. Glad to hear your Mom is doing so well. I wish my Mom would have had the operation, she didn't want it and now she sufferes so much with her knees. Peggy ...have a great vacation. Slavika ....you have a really great excuse to eat all the frozen yogurt you want to.... take advantage of the "no guilt". Maria... that was a funny joke. When you and your DH are throwing snowballs, take a minute to think about us northern gals who do that for 5 months a year... Glenda... I remember you telling us about that little child before. That is terrible that the father would even be considered to get supervised visitation. What a world! Lily....I've only seen the pictures of Maui. I don't blame you for trying any tatic you can to get back there. I'm going to go tidy up the kitchen... I just hate getting up to a mess. I'll try to see you all tomorrow.... flaggies 06-15-2001, 04:49 AM G'day all, As Trudy said I probably am the only one up, it is 5.30 pm and the weather is not getting any better. I did spend the whole day putting the finishing touches to THE cardigan:dizzy: Thank goodness it is now finished. Decided to walk to town (a good 30 minute walk) in between the showers. It was an exhilarating walk, lovely and cool and windy. I do enjoy it if I am dressed for it. I went to town to buy the buttons for the cardigan, couldn't find buttons I liked but came home with a great pair of shoes instead. 25% off the already reduced price, how could I pass that up:lol: and there is more, being share holders (minor ones) of the store where I bought them I got another 10% off. I practically got them for nothing:D Karen I hope the weather is clearing up in your neck of the woods. I have read here about some very unseasonal weather in the US, particularly in Texas where there has been lots of flooding. Hope none of you were effected. We'll pretend we are in Canada on Sunday :D Don't know if I could cope with 5 months of the year with snow. As a child in the Netherlands I remember snow which was great when you woke up in the morning but then as the day wore on and it became all slushy and yuck it wasn't quite so good. Trudy reading about your evening and you suffering from indigestion just reminds me of the fact since stopping the alcohol and making wise choices:dizzy: food wise, I have not had one antacid tablet for indigestion. :smug: Out to dinner and then watching the footy tonight. Our home team Adelaide is playing in Melbourne and they need all the support they can get. Cheers Maria LilyG 06-15-2001, 12:41 PM Glenda: Oh my. Im sure nothing will come of it. That little boy sounds like he is finally getting better, and I would hope the courts dont go along with it. Maria:  Loved the joke! Wow great buy on those shoes. Have fun in the snow. Karen: Your mom is improving everyday. Im sure she will get over the shorts thing. It will be more comfortable for her leg. Oh boy, I would be afraid for your friend to. My DH's friend had it done last April. He has had nothing but problems and has to go back in for Surgery because they didnt do it right. I have read to many stories about it to. Scares me. He had tried everything thing to. I will keep her in my thoughts. Trudy: You must go to Hawaii some time. The pictures are great, but they really dont do it justice. It is beautiful and well worth the trip if you can. Slavika: Hows the teeth today? Hope they are feeling better! Best get to work. slavika 06-16-2001, 12:27 AM  Hi Everybody My mouth is a little tender but nothing too serious. I am having trouble getting used to this new partial though. I keep biting the sides of my tongue....that smarts!!!!! :( Maybe some further adjustments have to be made, I'll see on Monday. Thanks everybody for asking about my boo-boo. Maria I think the only time in my life I would miss snow, is aound the Christmas season. I hope your husband enjoys seeing his first snow. :) Karen how old is the gal that is going to have the gastro surgery? I'm sure she and her doctor thought long and hard before deciding on something so drastic. I surely do wish her well. I made homemade chicken soup today.....a BIG pot, did it ever taste good. I made enough to last a couple of days, since my mouth is still tender. We are going to our son and dil's place for Fathers Day. They planned on doing steaks. I told them not to alter their menu because of me. I picked up a DQ ice cream cake to take for dessert (hee hee I can eat that). :D DH is going out of town on business for all of next week. He doesn't often go for that length of time any more. Maybe I'll go to the movies one night with a girlfriend, since he's not so keen on movies. That's it for me gang. "See" you all tomorrow. Night. P.S. One more thing. The weather here today was just crazy. Sun then heavy rains, then maybe some wind, then maybe sun and rain together. Anyway, my dil stopped by today and she said, "it was like God allowed the children in heaven to play with the weather switches.......first they would click this, then that, then maybe click two together." LOL :D slavika 06-16-2001, 10:22 PM  Hi Everybody The last couple of days I have seen a young bunny hanging out on my patio. DH says he sees him often early in the morning when he is leaving for work. Well, a short while ago I looked out and he was eating bird seed with all the little birdies around him. Then, he left there, and headed towards, MY GARDEN I ran out, and there he was sitting in the midst of my new lettuce having a little taste. I told him, "rascally rabbit, I don't think so!" I told TRUDY he looked at me with those big button eyes of his. YIKES, I didn't even taste that lettuce yet. He is really cute....like a little stuffed toy but I better not encourage him............he is sweet though. BROTHER :D :D painter5 06-17-2001, 10:20 AM Hi from the beach, It is really pretty here. Just houses - no condos or hotels. The houses up aways are really huge. We are right on the beach. The kids are having a ball. Wish you all could come. Peggy slavika 06-17-2001, 11:25 AM  Hi Peggy LOL :D so you found the computer. I'm happy the place is nice, and I sure wish I was there too. We do have some sun this morning, so that's a plus. How's your weather? Enjoy.......... LilyG 06-17-2001, 12:44 PM Slavika: Love that analogy your DIL gave for the weather. To cute! Gladd your boo boo is getting a little better. Never had a DQ Ice cake before. Must be good. Guess I need to make a trip there someday. Most mine are just to far away, so I never think of going there. Oh A bunny! I love them they are so cute! But it he will eat your lettuce for sure. Peggy: Enjoy that Vacation! Sounds like a perfect spot, with no Hotels. Relax and enjoy! We are off to the 100$ store today (Costco). Then to Trader Joes. Im looking for some Chocolate Wafers. There was a recipe on the WW site for some Ice Sandwiches that looked really good for 2 points. Just havent been able to find the low point Chocolate Wafers yet. If you didnt see the recipe let me know and I will post it. It was one of those front page ones that only last for a day. Have a great day all! slavika 06-17-2001, 05:09 PM  Hi Everybody I was reading over at Dotti's and came across a few posts discussing the ice cream called "BIG DADDY". I think we talked about it on our board too, although we can't get it in Canada, (at least I don't think so). Anyway, news broke, the label was wrong, really wrong. It's 300 cal. 7 gr. fat and 7 pts each, not 2 pts each as everybody thought. :( Anybody wanting to check it out go to Dotti's "Daily Thread". Talk to you all later. LilyG 06-17-2001, 05:16 PM Yeah I read that to. Thanks goodness I never found it. I think its only available on the east coast. And I think it was ANN thats was talking about them. heres the link to the news paper article for her to read about it: http://www.sunsentinel.com/news/local/southflorida/sfl-pdaddy617.story?coll=sfla%2Dhome%2Dheadlines Need to remember to tell her when she gets back. Lizziepie 06-17-2001, 06:44 PM Hi All from Virginia: Graduation was nice, but wet. We had downpouring rain. part of that storm that flooded Texas and New Orleans. Hope Peggy your vacation wasn't spoiled by the rain. Today has been warm and sunny again. Thank goodness that the party was inside, and not in a tent, as some of in a tent as some of Katies friends were. My daughter booked a party room at a motel with a big living room and patio, covered, so that they could cook out even in the rain. It was a good family day, and we could all be proud of Katie. We are leaving tomorrow morning on our way to Maine. Hope we continue to have good. weather. Lily: I checked that web site. I had not found any Big Daddy, and am glad that I didn't. What a bummer. I'll stick to Blue Bunny Slavika: Sorry to read you have had dental problems. Hope all is better now. Trudy: Do you find that you are up at night when there is a weather change? I do, and also if there is a full moon. But I promise I;m not related to a werewolf or vampire. Just one of the somewhat strange ones.:dizzy: Karen: HOpe the bad weather didn't bother you. It sounded pretty bad out your way. Time to sign off now and will check in again when we get to Maine. Hi to eveyone else. Ann flaggies 06-17-2001, 09:58 PM we had a great time in the snow!!! DH couldn't get over how white :dizzy: it was and so pristine. I have attached a photo of Alan and myself, hope it didn't slow the board up too much. It was quite a long drive (3 and a bit hours) but worth it. Of course neither of us have clothes for the snow so my feet were wet very quickly but it was great fun. DH was like a kid and just loved it. For me it brought back memories of my childhood, especially the sound that freshly fallen snow makes when you walk on it:) So there we go something else we can now tick off as having done;) Slavika it sound like a bit of a haven for stray animals your garden, a bunny, didn't think they would be so tame. Peggy good to hear from you, sounds a lovely spot where you are. Ann great to hear from you as well, what a shame about the weather but it still sounded like you had fun and the weather is sunny again. It is a cool but sunny day here today. Have a fun day wherever you are! Cheers Maria slavika 06-18-2001, 12:46 AM  Hi Everybody We had a nice time at our son/dil's place. We spent some time out on the back deck. DH was throwing the ball for the little Prince who as you know is playing baseball this year. WELL although the ball was a rubber practice one he hit it so hard that he knocked his Mother's "Garden Angel" (it's made out of wood and attached to a long stick that is stuck in the garden) right off the stick. When he and (Papa) quit laughing they apologized. Ok the next throw, grandson hits it hard again, it bounces off the house, hits "MY" glass of ice tea......so guess who spent the rest of the day wearing ice tea. YIKES. When he realized I was not mad at him, he hugged me and said he was sorry, but that it was even funnier then knocking his Mom's angel off the stick. :D We all decided, the back yard was not big enough for him to play baseball in any more. :) :) We explained to him that he was just too good. That worked!! Lily Are you talking about putting coolwhip in between the chocolate wafers and freezing them, or is this something different? Ann sounds like your holiday is going just fine, rain or no rain. Hope the rest of the holiday is as much fun. Maria Nice picture of you and DH.....but the snow does nothing for me at all. I'm glad you both enjoyed the experience though. I guess city rabbits are a little braver then the ones in the country but they still are very timid little things. When the bunny was eating the seeds off the patio with the birdies they were literally nose to beak, neither really minding the other at all. Well DH is getting packed now for his week out of town.....he's driving as he has to make a lot of calls to auto dealers along the way. Talk to you all tomorrow. Night. LilyG 06-18-2001, 11:47 AM Ann: Sounds like you are having a great time so far! Enjoy the trip to Maine! Maria: Loved the pic in the snow! Sounds like you had a lot of fun playing in it. Me I would stay away. I lived in the stuff long enough and really dont care if I ever see it again. ;) Slavika: Baseball huh? At least he had fun! No this recipe is something different. You put Ice Cream and Chocolate topping in between Chocolate wafers. I will post it later tonight as I dont have it at work. Just looked really yummy to me. painter5 06-18-2001, 06:12 PM Ann the weather is beautiful. We had the rain driving thru Virginia. Went right past Williamsburg. Went bike riding - legs are sore. Been beaching it. shopping [of course] and playing in the pool. Bye for now, Peggy flaggies 06-18-2001, 07:44 PM it never seems to stop the changes in our life but our life is once again in turmoil with the offer of a different position to dh. I won't bother to tell you too much as it may all well change again:dizzy: . Talked till the small hours of the morning, we are both happy with what we have decided and we will just see how we go from here. Friends rang last night to say they will be here for the weekend, I am really looking forward to that. They are from country South Australia, I told them it is very opportune as we can do with some good ol' country advice:D I have got a shocking cold, no doubt from galavanting around in the snow:lol: Peggy sounds like you are having a great holiday, I love bike riding (providing there are no hills;) ) Good to see you have also done a bit of essential shopping, hope you got some bargains! It is a lovely cool sunny day here. I am off to the chemist to get some pills for this headcold and a nice walk in the gardens will probably make me feel better as well. Also I heard on the news about some tropical storms in the US, hope none of you were effected. Cheers for now Maria slavika 06-18-2001, 10:55 PM  Just stopped by for a minute and I'll come back later.......... Lily would you mind posting the recipe you mentioned. I need another recipe like a hole in the head, but it sounded sooo good. :D Thanks. Trudy 06-18-2001, 11:04 PM Maria.. I really liked your "snow picture". I don't mind the snow (and that's a good thing since we get so much of it  ) I just get tired of it after a long winter. Another change in your life... I don't know how you do it. I am such a creature of habit it would really be hard for me. Hope you got rid of the headcold soon. Peggy.. I like your little updates, I wish we were there too. It's raining here tonight. Lily.. the recipe sounds yummy all right. :D I need to try it, just craving chocolate today. Slavika.. I could just picture your Grandson getting you covered in ice tea. How are the teeth? We had a nice day too. My DD and SIL came over yesterday for a BBQ. Son-I-L was at the grill - DH was so pleased. He even liked the shirt DD gave him... Ann.. enjoy Maine. Yes, the weather changes give me some grief, as does air-conditioning and drafts. it's so much fun getting old. We could use a goat around here today. The lawnmower is in for repairs and the grass is so high I can't see my flower beds from the road. I've been picking radishes, and green onions.. the lettuce will be ready soon. However, "somebody" has cleaned out the carrots so we had to replant. Good night all... LilyG 06-18-2001, 11:37 PM Peggy: Sounds like you are having way to much fun! ;) Glad the weather is good for you! Maria: More changes? Dont know how you keep up with it. Take care of that cold. Im sure its from the cold snow. :( Trudy Sounds like you have been a busy bee with radishes, green onions. Yummmmmm My DH never did plant anything again this year. ALAS :dizzy: Recipe is posted. Look under desserts for MudPie Frozen Sandwiches. Cant wait to make them. Think it will go good with any Yogurt Ice Cream. JosieM 06-18-2001, 11:56 PM Hi my dear cyber friends,   I have been peeking in occasionally, but not really keeping up with everything. Y'all have such exciting lives and so much to say that there is just tooooo much to read when you don't keep up daily! Anyway, I hadn't stopped by in about a month. Scanning the threads, I see that Geri did give you my news. I did want you all to know that I think about you and that everything is well in my world. I apologize for not posting, but found it difficult when I wasn't keeping up with what all was going on. Also have had alot going on here. I have missed you all and am happy to see you're still "going strong" in cyberspace! 3FC looks like a different world with all the cute animated pics and colorful additions!! It might take me awhile to get in the swing of this new stuff. Lily: Congrats to you!!! Lifetime member at goal weight!! I knew you'd do it. 145.... you must feel terrific!! I'll try to read the past few threads to see what's been happening. Hope to get back sooner. Josie Trudy 06-19-2001, 12:33 AM Lily.. thanks for posting the recipe, it sounds really yummy and I will make it. I don't think I have seen coffee flavored froz yogurt, but will make a suitable substitution. Can't wait. :D HI JOSIE.. good to "see" you again. Just what have you been up to? .. was it a new house??, (trying to remember what Geri said). Glad you are back. Goodnight again. ... slavika 06-19-2001, 12:45 AM  Hi Everybody Josie Hi there. Nice to "see" you. What have you been up to? What kind of summer are you having in Louisiana? Ann someday, I think DH and I will take a car trip to Maine. I would really like to see that part of States. Let us know what you think? Maria that's what happens when you play in the snow and don't have your "snow boots" on. Tsk Tsk:) I sure hope you will be feeling better soon. A head cold is a miserable thing to have. Lily thanks so much for posting the recipe. It sounds really good. I have some brand new frozen vanilla yogurt that probably would do just fine with some chocolate syrup. Maybe I will get ambitious and make up a few for tea time tomorrow. Trudy I look forward to seeing you tomorrow. Now I wonder who that "somebody" was that ate "YOUR" carrots? Do you also have a rascally rabbit? Night everybody, tomorrow I'll go to WW, I hope I didn't over do on the eating of frozen yogurt and chocolate puddings. YIKES!!
