Back when I started WW, I set written goals for this year. My birthday goal was to be able to go into the Gap and buy a pair of jeans, size 16.
So tomorrow is the day I go to the Gap. I'm a little nervous. Wish me luck!

So I started out by going to Nordstrom's for a bra. They measured me and had me trying on a bunch -- turns out I've gone from a 46 to a38!
Armed with the idea that I have a more standard bra size, I boldly went into a Victoria's Secret. Okay, I'll admit it, I was scared. I've been banished from stores like this for over ten years because of my size. On this day, I found a nice running bra. I left VS kindof giddy.
I wandered outside of the Gap for awhile, went across the mall to the bathroom and went in. My stomach was turning and I was actually shaking. This was another one of those stores from which I had been banned for so long.
The first stack of jeans I came to had sizes like 0. Size 0 -- what the heck is that? Doesn't zero mean nothing? The entire display had sizes that only went to 8. I went around to the other side thinking their "fat" clothes would be there. More of the same. My heart sank, and I was prepared to head out, pretending that I had only come in to buy a gift for someone else. Someone small enough to fit their jeans. However, I did take one last look at a rack of jeans and they had a 14. Yep, a size with two digits. And continuing to look, I found a few 16s.
I'm in the dressing room, and the strangest thing happened. 16 was too big. Okay, they weren't huge, but big enough that I wasn't about to buy them. So now I'm grabbing a bunch of 14s. Most were too small. I did find two pair that fit, but were tight. Two and a half hours of trying on jeans - and I now have a pair of Gap jeans, size 14. They're tight, but comfortable, so I'm figuring a few weeks of serious core should do the trick.
All in all I had a very happy birthday!
