Support Groups - Week At A Time Challenge #10

View Full Version : Week At A Time Challenge #10

08-29-2005, 12:47 PM
The object of this thread is to take on at least one challenge related to your weight loss goals for 7 days straight. Choose whatever inspires you - a certain amount of water intake, no sugar, 30 minute walks, etc.

I will award accolades for each day you maintain your goal(s), and 7 day winner awards and pounds down at the end of the week. We will begin each challenge on Monday - you can choose a new challenge or repeat any challenge for extra mileage. If you would like to stretch yourself, take on more than one challenge.

We will support each other keeping in mind to stay focussed on our successes and/or challenges of the day and week related to our weight loss. There are plenty of threads where a lot of time is spent on personal stories, so let's try to keep that to a minimum.

All that we have is right now.
Yesterday is gone, Tomorrow is not promised, and Someday is not a day of the week!

We often forget how important it is to our weight and health wellbeing to get up, be active and go to bed on time. Thanks for setting the example! I got a kick out of being in training for retirement

kurias, Casper - we are missing you!

Hi Friends! :)

Here are my challenges for this week:

1. Walk DOWN 24 flights of stairs + walk UP 1 flight of stairs
2. Drink 5 cups of water per day

And for today ... I've completed both of my challenges. :cb:

It really helped me to do my stairs last night and I'm so glad that nobody minds this!

How's everybody doing so far today? I good good. :)

Have I mentioned yet, how much I love this place?! :) :)

I hope you're all having a good day so far!

Oops - I forgot to mention that I weighed myself this morning and am at 240, hopefully next week it will be less than that. :tantrum:

08-29-2005, 03:59 PM
Good morning, ladies! :) Another week, another set of challenges! Good luck to you all ... I will not officially start "challenging" again until next week, but I do wish all of you well!

deborah, I think we all do what "feels" right to us on here. Now, I have to do my Tuesday thing on Tuesday, i.e., or it wouldn't "feel" right to me! (Cause I'd know I did it on Monday!) But that's just me!!! :D Whenever you do exercise, IT CAN'T BE BAD! :p

Well, it's Monday. My weight is at 194, and I'm pleased with that, considering all the vacationing/eating I've done for three months ..... It's been a good break from dieting/structured exercise but I'm going to be ready to get back on my strict schedule come next weekend.

Am still enjoying my wonderful granddaughter. Will take her back home on Wednesday/Thursday (stopping in Maryland overnight). Then I will sleep for a week! Not joking, girls!!!

:grouphug: to you all, and have a great week with your goals!!!

08-29-2005, 04:30 PM
Hi Bonnie,

Enjoy your time with your granddaughter and have a safe trip when you take her home. :)

08-29-2005, 06:37 PM
Debi, I thought you'd like to know that I started my week last night too. It doesn't seem to me to matter when the week starts, as long as it lasts 7 days... My goal is getting to bed before midnight, and being up and out by 10 am. I made it to bed on time and actually can't remember if I watched TV or not . So maybe it souldn't count. But this AM I was up and would have been out by 9 except I was waiting for a return call.

I've been watching the Katrina coverage: friends of my brother (who died two years ago) have businesses in the French Quarter, and I'm hoping everything is okay. During the last storm they held a hurricane party in their bar, but this time they may have had to evacuate (FQ people are notorious for NOT following orders, but...). The cleanup in all those old buildings is going to be quite a job. I'll call later to check on them.

More later. Gotta go.

08-29-2005, 07:29 PM

How's everyone doing??

Ok This week's goals are:
Exercise 4 times a week doing the WATP Dvds. This week it will be 9 cardio miles.
2nd goal is to drink 8 glasses water daily.

Since my week starts on Saturday, I did the 3mi WATP Dvd. Today, Monday, I did the 2mi. I am 5 miles in. 4 more to go!

08-30-2005, 01:03 AM
Hi Carla!

Good for you with getting to bed on time last night [and of course it should count, after all ... you were in bed on time and also up at gone by 10:00. :cp:

I hope that your brothers friends are okay ... things sure do look like quite a mess down that way, don't they? :(

Allie, it looks like you're coming right along with your exercising. Great job, keep up the good work! :) :bravo:

Guess I'm gonna go for now - it's midnight and since I haven't been getting a whole lot of sleep lately, think I'll go 'n try to get some now. :)

08-30-2005, 01:37 AM
Hello Bonnie, Mscat, Debi, and Carla! I'm Selina and I was invited by Bonnie (thanx, by the way :D). I like the idea you have here. Lord knows I need weekly support! LOL. I am choosing to make my first week's goals as follows: Keep calories under 1500 per day, drink at the very least 30 oz of water each day (I know that's not enough but better than what I've been getting in), and walk between 8,000 and 10,000 steps per day and log them on AOM ( Oh, and the article they interviewed me for should be out this Friday on the site. I am hoping this will motivate me further! And of course that it helps everyone who reads it to keep hope that this battle to get healthy and stay that way is something that can be won. I got several books at the library today and one was called Passing For Thin. It looks really good. Written by a woman who lost half her weight, it delves into how it feels to be in the Planet of the Thin, a totally different world with different rules and ideas. She was 338 lbs., I believe. I know what she is saying in this book. Being thin is scary when you haven't ever been there. A thin girl never knows what it's like to have to wear shorts under all her dresses to prevent chafing between her thighs. She doesn't know what it's like to not be able to fit on a ride at Astroworld, and watch her friends go on it without her, as they did in her book. I have had that happen. I have many stories like hers. I'd rather not remember them. I think I'm gonna like reading this book. She's been there too.

Anyway, for today I'm at 1410 cals, 20.5 gms total fat, 28 oz water (I will bring a glass to my room and drink some b4 bed too, so I'm good there), and I'm at 8405 so far on steps. Yay me!!!

Hope you all have a great week! I hope to check in every day or as much as possible. Thanks!!

08-30-2005, 02:04 AM
Time for a reality check here. I've realized that my bedtime goal is just not realistic for me. So I'm pooping out on that. But I will be up and at 'em by 10 in the mornings, as I was this morning. Is this the fastest anyone has ever abandoned half their challenge? Of course I'm continuing my 21-day challenge of no wine/no chocolate, which is becoming almost routine.

Allie, aren't you afraid you'll run out of miles at this rate? Only Monday and you're half done? Keep up the good work!

Bonnie, good to hear from you, and we'll be looking forward to having you back on the challenge next week. It sounds like you're having a wonderful time.

Debi, have you done tomorrow night's stairs yet?

Mscat, I don't think I'm showing as good an example this time. Oh well, baby steps. How are you doing with the dreaded water? I'm actually trying to replace a bit of the diet soda with water and extra-diluted Crystal Light. I trick myself into drinking it by putting it into empty 500 ml water bottles and keeping them in the fridge. For some reason I like fluids better when they aren't in a glass. Very mature, no?

Apart from the challenge, I've been having a bit of a tough time not overdoing the goodies. There was a special on Nature Valley bars. I had never tried their new sweet and salty bars, and i never will again. At least not for now - there are none left. :o At least I haven't eaten all the crunchy bars as well. And that's just the tip of the iceberg. It's like getting close to Onederland unleashes a sudden urge to nosh. It's really not that I'm afraid to be thin, just that I get all cocky and want to celebrate :woo:, and of course I'm a charter member of the celebrate with food club. Maybe tomorrow I'll behave - especially if the scale is creeping back up. This is going to be a long process no matter how I attack it. And there'll be plenty of opportunity to celebrate - or drown my sorrows in carbs.

Soon I will go to bed. But I realized today that one of the good things about retirement rehearsal is afternoon naps!

:goodvibes: to all.

08-30-2005, 02:08 AM
Welcome, Selina, you're looking terrific and should be very proud of how far you've come. Maybe we need YOUR support and weight-loss secrets!

08-30-2005, 02:17 AM
Goodnight ladies -

Welcome Soon2BFitChick! We are excited to have you join us. Great goals and challenging. We are here for you every "step" of the way. Looking forward to reading the article!

Debi :cheer: :cheer: for accomplishing both goals today!

Bonnie - looking forward to working with you again after your much deserved rest!

08-30-2005, 02:33 AM
I must be tired - hit the wrong button and sent previous message before I was done!

Selina - wanted to add to your welcome that your picture is absolutely gorgeous!

carla - I totally support you changing your goal - it is frustrating to continously run up against a brick wall especially when it comes to making a life long change. Take "baby steps" as you have said until it becomes realistically manageable. I am still struggling with the water but at least the goal is making certain I am getting something in! I hope your friends continue to be safe.

Bonnie - thanks for inviting Selina - you both are contributions to this group.

Now I am ready to really turn in - especially since I have to get up at 6 to help get DD ready for first day of school!

All that we have is right now.
Yesterday is gone, Tomorrow is not promised, and Someday is not a day of the week!

08-30-2005, 09:27 AM
Good morning, ladies! :D Big smile here because Selina has decided to join all the other terrific ladies here! You will find that she is one amazingly, hard-working lady who does some very important work, but I'll let her tell you about herself! :grouphug: Welcome, Selina! So glad you came over to be with us .... and am looking forward to reading your article. I find it really helps to have a group that I can "talk to" everyday, if I want, always someone to listen, whether I'm up, down, successful with my goal that day or not, and we all so appreciate that Mscat has gotten our little group going! :grouphug: to you, Mscat!

Well, believe it or not, this morning I am 193 lbs. again. Just don't know how with all the eating, but I believe the fact that I'm maintaining is aided by my constant activity with DGD. She will be going home to Mass. later this week, when either we will drive her, or my husband will fly with her and come right back.

The problem is that our almost-16 year old dog is having such problems that the drive will be so hard on him, and he isn't one you can leave in the kennel as he becomes so distraught that he can't function. :( Expense-wise, by the time we stay in hotels coming and going, pay gas & tolls and for meals, it's just as cheap to fly her, and we won't have all those hours in the car. Of course, buying airline tickets at the last minute is the most expensive way to fly .... we'll have to pay full-fare on Southwest. But the costs are still about equal, to make the trip, for the two of them.

All you ladies .... have a great day! I am going to make the most of these last couple of days with my sweetie before she goes back to start school. We went to the Butterfly House at the Museum of Life and Science in Durham yesterday which included a train ride and other outdoor exhibits (too hot & humid outside though), then swimming in the evening at the outdoor Y pool. I think today will be bowling and possibly "The March of The Penguins" ..... or bowling and another swim session. We baked cookies on Saturday evening ... we HAVE to do that on every visit, and went shopping to re-stock our cookie decorations! :D Grandmothering is a blast ....

Off to tend to bacon and eggs. Have a wonderful day, all! :flow2:

08-30-2005, 11:34 AM
Allie - :cheer: for meeting your goal on Monday! I missed you last night when I was having problems with my computer!
Bonnie - :cb: for pounds down! Congratulations!

Here is a wonderful inspiration from The Daily Motivator -

"The things you know without a doubt are the things you discover and experience for yourself. Though others can guide you, lecture you, persuade you, scold you or encourage you, what becomes a part of you is what you experience for yourself.

Your belief may indeed be strong and unwavering. Yet there is a difference between belief and certainty. Certainty comes when you actually live your beliefs and put them into practice on an ongoing basis. For that is when you will discover and experience for yourself the essence of their truth.

It is interesting to speculate about what might and might not be true, what might and might not happen, what may or may not work. It is powerful indeed to know for sure. What you've been told is a good starting point. Take it further, put it into practice and discover for yourself.

Honor your faith, your trust, your belief by bringing it all to life through your efforts. Truth will rise to a whole new level when you discover and experience it for yourself."

-- Ralph Marston

Let us all do more than talk the talk about the things we will do to lose weight and live healthy lifestyles - Let's walk the walk. There is power in the doing every minute, every day, every week...

All that we have is right now.
Yesterday is gone, Tomorrow is not promised, and Someday is not a day of the week!

08-30-2005, 11:44 AM
Bonnie, you skinny-minny!! After reading your post I have a real yen for bacon and eggs. Maybe I'll go out to the all-day-breakfast place a little later. Then again, maybe I won't. I'd be dunking the home fries in the yokes, and making a sandwich with the toast and bacon... :lol3: Maybe salad instead. It sounds like you've had a wonderful visit with your DGD, and a nice active one too! I'm expecting a visit from relatives starting next Monday, including a trip to my stepmother for her birthday. I'm used to spending most of my home time alone, so having people around 24/7 is very hard for me. I always feel like I should be entertaining, which stresses me and makes the guests uncomfortable. It will be a real food challenge for me, and everyone drinks a lot too. Temptation everywhere. I may just put the cousins on a sort of diet plan without telling them!

Mscat, thanks for the absolution re my amended goals. I'm still doing my 21-day goals, and today is Day 2 of getting up and out at a reasonable time. I was out buying the newspaper at 9:30. After such a late night last night, I think I may still try to skip the siesta and get to bed not too late. It's just too easy to munch those late hours away.

 It almost feels like bedtime already. Bye for now, y'all. (not Southern, just borrowing a useful expression.)

08-30-2005, 12:05 PM
 Soon2BFitChick, it's nice to meet you! [I'm new here too, have just been here a few days. :)]

Don't feel bad about your 30 oz. challenge for water [actually mine is only 40 oz. per day ... 5-8 oz. glasses] but like you, I am getting more this way than I had been. For me, baby steps is the way to go [and it's working too! :cb:]

Carla, yep - I did my today's stairs last night. I guess it is kind of funny to do tomorrow's exercises the night before, huh? :o

Hey - just curious, does water count for us even if it would be very diluted crystal light? If so - that would be WONDERFUL. [Ugh - I hate just plain water!]

mscat, thanks for my :cp: for yesterday's goals being made. :)

Bonnie, you sure sound like a fun grandma! I bet your granddaughter will hate it when it's time to have to leave, huh? :cp: Good for you for being able to report pounds down!!

Well friends, time for me to go and uhmmmm, choke down [oops - I meant drink ] some of my fine water. Ha! ha!

Have a good day! I'll be back later and post when I get the water down so I can update and report my goals made for the day.

mscat, great motivator for the day [thanks for posting it!] (HUGS)

08-30-2005, 01:44 PM
Both challenges done for the day! :dancer:
Walked down 24 flights of stairs + up 1 flight
Drank 5-oz. glasses of water

08-30-2005, 02:01 PM
Bravo Debi. Bad news: the water you drink during strenuous exercise (like climbing stairs) is to replace what you sweat out, and should be ADDED to your daily goal. The urine colour test will tell you if you're getting enough.

I THINK it's okay to use Crystal Light in your water, especially if it's extra-diluted. I would (and do) certainly accept it. But then I think it's okay to do tomorrow's exercise today...

08-30-2005, 03:51 PM
Just checking in. I am drinking my 8 glasses of water daily.

Debi: Good job on you keeping up with your challenges. :jig:

Selina: The book sounds interesting. Keep us posted. Welcome!

Carla: I walk 4 days a week. :tread: I won't run out of miles. I pace myself. Good luck with your 21-day challenge of no wine/no chocolate. :bravo:

MsCat: Thanks for the motivation! :balloons:

:goodluck: :encore:

08-31-2005, 12:48 AM
Carla ... hi! :)

What??!! You want me to drink MORE water? I will try that next week [for now it seems to be all I can do to choke down the 5 cups. *lol* BUT, I do drink some after I'm done walking 'cuz I'm thirsty but it's not a lot of it though, just enough to quench my thirst.

So glad that Crystal Light counts ... if that's the case, I'll have [U]no problems in getting water down. :) :)

Allie, you're doing great with drinking the water. Keep up the good work!! :cheer:

It's going on midnight, talk to you girls more tomorrow. ;)

08-31-2005, 12:51 AM
I have a question ....

When I click on my public profile, it has my info. and such but then too on there, it says that I am not a member of any public groups.

What are public groups on here? Isn't our thread here - a group and if so, how can I be a member? :?: :)

08-31-2005, 01:24 PM
Good Morning! :)

How's everybody doing today? I hope good!

As for myself, I'm doing pretty good. Got my challenges both done for the day [woo hoo!!]

I can not begin to tell you all how much finding these boards and posting here has helped to motivate me. :grouphug:

09-01-2005, 03:52 AM
Hey ladies! Hope you all had a great hunp day! I meant to respond to everyone earlier. I didn't plan my day well :( .

For everyone struggling with the water dilemma check out the article on "water facts" at
". . . The average person needs around 6-8 large glasses every day. . . The aim is to drink water consistently. If you drink too much all at once or too fast, it will simply pass through you, with little or no benefit to your body."

According to the water calculator I need a little more water than the average person because of my weight, and when I am exercising vigorously. However this supports you Carla that it doesn't do any good to overfill my bladder  There are also some great tips in this post on how to spread your water out throughout the day.

It also says its ok to spike your water with lemon and substitute water with soup (???) at lunch for soup. Deb, if that is so, I assume spiking it with a non-sugary additives like crystal light is not harmful especially if it helps you get it in. I spike my water with sugarless sparkling water - I don't like water plain either!

Debi - :cheer: on your Wednesday goals! I don't believe 3fatchicks has any public groups yet(?) From my understanding of groups, I don't know what the point would be on this website. All of the threads/forums are open to all members to my knowlege. I suggest you post this question to an administrator here to get more information. BTW - the website above is a public group within MSN.

Allie :cheer: on your water! Is Wednesday and exercise day for you too?

Have a great Thursday everyone - I will post earlier!

All that we have is right now.
Yesterday is gone, Tomorrow is not promised, and Someday is not a day of the week!

09-01-2005, 02:10 PM
Hey ladies! I'm back online! I had a great hump day, because I got in a walk. I walked my kids to school. :D

I haven't really started with the water, but since there is nothing in the house today to drink, but water, I guess that there's no time like the present! ;)

mscat - have you seen a neuroGYN about your water dilemma? I have the same praoblem and I need to make an appointment, as a matter of fact. :o

09-01-2005, 11:00 PM
mscat, thanks so much for the info. on the water ... that'll help me out a lot 'cuz that's just what I was doing [drinking mine all at once or as fast as I could so I could get it over 'n done with.]

Looks like I'm gonna have to change my ways on that one, huh? :o

Thanks also for the info. on the "groups" here - no wonder I was confused. *lol*

Hi Casper, nice to meet you ... I'm glad you're back online and here. :)

Well everybody, I got my challenges both done [both stairs and water] today but just am way late in getting online and posting.

Both yesterday and today I walked down 24 flights of stairs and walked up 2 flights each day [progress ... only a little but it is progress nonetheless! :)]

Tomorrow I have a Dr.'s appt. in the early afternoon and it's out of town so I will be gone for a good part of the day. I'll post when I can and will do my best to get my water in and walking done [oops - for the stairs, that's right ... I've already done tomorrow's today. *giggle*] :)

Hope you're all doing good .... gonna get off here for tonight 'cuz if I don't start trying to get to bed now, I won't get to sleep till who knows when [last night it was 3:00 a.m. again. Ugh!]

09-02-2005, 12:34 AM
Hi ladies - having a good day. Decided to take baby steps with my water so I am working on getting in at least 48 oz a day.

Welcome back Casper and :cheer: on your goals! I have talked the situation over with my ob who did my hyst and we have discussed surgery as an option.

Go Debi - :cheer: :cheer: for Wednesday and Today! You are doing great!

Where is everyone else???? Hope everyone checks in soon.

09-02-2005, 01:24 AM
Hello Everyone,

School started for me this week, so with that & work I havent been online as much as I would like.

I have drank 8 glasses of water all but one day.
So far, I have already 3 out of my four days (Saturday, Monday, & Wednesday). I have preently done 7 carsio miles. On Friday, I plan on wrapping it for the remaining 2 to make it a total of 9 miles for this week.

09-03-2005, 01:36 PM
Hi Friends!

mscat, way to go with getting your water in!! Keep up the good work. :cb: :cp:

Baby steps seem to be the thing that really works for me too. :)

Allie ... you're doing wonderful too with your water and getting your miles in. Keep it up, you're doing great!! :) :bravo:

Yesterday I got both - my stairs and water in but didn't get to post because of being gone and then when I got home, I was too tired to get online and post, etc.

Will post later today when I get my goals done for today. :)

09-03-2005, 07:52 PM
 everybody!

Got both of my challenges done for today. :cb:

Greetings Ladies :)

Just dropping by to let you know I'm alive

I haven't been doing my challenge this week, things have been really hectic. I've been trying to drink lots of water, but can't even tell how much I've been drinking! Trying to stay on top of everything is challenging enough...

Flying out on Monday morning and still not packed... It's 1:30 am and what am I doing? Putting music on my iPod (after accidentally emptying it). But no way I can take a 14-hour flight without some of my favourite music. Perhaps I'd be getting more "real" stuff done if the computer was packed. Tomorrow. :)
Also tomorrow I need to get the last load of laundry done, and we're moving the rest of the stuff into storage and some to my friend's place. I don't know yet where we'll sleep tomorrow, since she's taking the bed. ;) And I've discovered that my 2-years-old running shoes consist of little more than holes...

I don't think I'd be able to keep up with any challenge over the next few days. But, starting Wednesday next week, I'm going to go back to drinking water - let's start small again, at least 1.5 liters (6 glasses) each day.

I'll check in again as soon as I can :)

Good luck to everyone with your challenges :)

09-04-2005, 01:39 PM
Sushi, good for you with keeping up with your water even though you're not the challenge this week. That's better than I would do, I'm sure.

Once I get off-track even a little, I may as well forget all of it so I think you're doing wonderful! :)

Have a safe flight and we'll see you soon. :grouphug:

09-04-2005, 05:58 PM
Hi! Got my challenges done for today.

Walked down 24 flights of stairs
Drank 5 cups of water

:cb: :cp: :cb:

09-04-2005, 10:36 PM
Hey Ladies - I have been extremely busy - but you all have been in my thoughts and I have been keeping up with your posts.

Debi :cheer: :cheer: :cheer: :cheer: for Thursday - Sunday challenges!

Allie :cheer: :cheer: :cheer: :cheer: for 4 days of challenges met.

Sushi :cheer: keep up the great work with that water. Thanks for stopping in and letting us know how you are doing. Looking forward to having you back next week!

Have a great Holiday everyone - see you all tomorrow!

09-04-2005, 11:50 PM
Hello Everyone, :grouphug:

Saturday is the beginning of my week. The past Saturday was my 2 monthly weigh-in since I started. I have lost 32lbs, so far. I still have a long road a head of me but that's ok. :woo:

Saturday, I did my WATP Dvd for 3 miles. The next day will be Monday for 2 miles. :dancer:

Last week was a good week, I drank 8 glasses of water for 6 out of the 7 days. Did all 4 of my walking days. And lost 1lb for the week.

I love coming here for support. ;) :goodvibes

09-05-2005, 12:40 AM
Oops. I'm a little late posting. But I made it through the week of being up, dressed, and out 6 out of 7 days. (The 7th day I was up very early but not dressed.) I wasn't going to do a challenge this week, but by tomorrow I will come up with something. I have guests arriving tomorrow who will be here for 2 weeks ( not all of it with me), and it'll be a little stressful as they're part of the extended (step) family who I don't know well. Maybe I'll try something as uncomplicated (but difficult) as not gaining any weight while they're here.

The last week has been a little difficult: two deaths of people far too young to go, one funeral, funeral guests staying over with me (after I had to break the bad and unexpected news to them), a very reluctant one-day trip to a cottage where I did not want to be... But also a good week, as my New Orleans friends are well and safe in Memphis where they evacuated with no problem AFTER the hurricane.

You all seem to be doing pretty well, so congrats! I may continue to be aminly absent for the next while, but I'll be lurking from time to time. Tomorrow is weigh-in, to see if my trip to Onederland is actually a permanent move.

Allie and Carla,

Wow - you are both doing wonderful with your challenges. Way to go! :cp: :cp: :cp:

Allie, you've lost 32 pounds so far? That's totally awesome [keep up the good work!!] :)

I know what you mean, I too love coming here for support [it sure does help, doesn't it?! :)]

Carla, good job with being up and dressed early [that seems to be one of my problems ... though I'm up, most times I am not dressed until way late.]

I'm so sorry about the deaths this week - one is hard enough to handle, let alone two. :( (HUGS)

I rejoice with you that your friends in New Orleans got out fine. Thank God!!

Keep up the good work with your getting up, dressed and out ... you're doing a wonderful job with it! :bravo: :cp: :cb:

As I said in my previous post, this week's challenge is just to stay in Onederland. It's a good thing the getting up and dressed one is no longer in effect, as I'm still lying in bed playing with this site. My excuse is that as of tomorrow I'll be on the Aerobed while my guests luxuriate in my lovely queen size. And I'll be getting up and in hostess mode most of the time. But the upand at 'em goal was a good one, and I'll go back to it. I got a lot more done, even if I did have to have naps later on...

Good luck all with this week's challenges; I won't be making individual posts as I'm starting to feel neurotic and stressed out about entertaining.

Honey - I don't blame you one bit for taking advantage of the time while you still have your own bed to relax in. :)

Try to have fun and to enjoy your visit!

 I don't see a new thread yet for the new week, but did want to report a 1 pound loss for this past week. :)

This is what I need!!! I do so much better when I have a weekly goal that is not weightloss but a exercise or food challenge.

This week I really want to do 2 miles a day on my gazelle and get my water back to 100 oz a day. :)

Here, Kitty kitty kitty. Nice kitty. Mscat, meow meow, where are you? Have we convinced you to cut back on your water so far you've dried up and blown away? Are you out tomcatting around? Did they catch you and put you in the pound?

This thread won't be purrrrrfect until you come home.

So come back, Mscat, and tell us what's new, pussycat.

(With apologies,

Carla, Sushi, MsCat, (where is?) Bev, and new buddies on here ... Deb, Allie ... I am very unnerved as I have been eating out-of-control since last Wednesday when we took my DGD back to Mass. I am so heartbroken to be without her after having her with me for three weeks. She is the dearest thing in the world, and I miss her so much. We had such a wonderful time, and I wish she were right next door!

I must get myself back together ... as of last Wednesday, I was 193, had only gained back four *summer pounds.* As of today, I was at about 199 (I know a lot is salt and water after eating for five days.)

I wish all you girls well on your Challenges. I haven't defined mine yet for next week, but I will when thread #11 is posted! Thank you for your shoulders! :-)

((Bonnie)), honey I am so sorry that you're feeling so low right now and just want you to know that we're here for you.

Just whatever you do - just don't give up, you may have stumbled but get up - brush yourself off and keep going! :grouphug:

Ali, I know just what you mean about it being easier to keep specific challenges rather than to focus on weight loss. After all, if we keep meeting these other goals, the weight loss is sure to follow, right? :)

 Carla - you are too funny, my friend!

mscat, where are you? We miss ya!

I've been here several times today [if not more *lol*] and keep looking for a new thread.

I "almost" thought about starting a Thread #11 for us but didn't know whether I should or not ...

[I didn't want anyone to think I was trying to take over or anything so I decided not to.]

I hope everyone's had a nice day [mine was so-so ... kinda boring actually!]

See ya tomorrow! :)

Oops ... I forgot to post that I completed both of my challenges for today. :)

I'm keeping the same ones as last week except that I added 1 flight of stairs to it so ...

My goals for the new week are:

Walk down 25 flights of stairs each day
Drink 5 cups of water per day

go for your goals everyone and have a great week
