I am going to restart phase I today. I have been doing really good since I started in late May but yesterday we went to a wine tasting expo and there was tons of food to go with the wine so I went off program for the day.

I thought now would be a good time to do a Phase I for at least a week but maybe two. I'll see how it goes.

Morning chicks...Day two and WE CAN DO IT...........
I actually made it through day one with out any slip outs.

samsara- Welcome aboard.

weezle- Did you get to the store chick.

KO- there is a spot for your towel. You know it is kinda of sad to think that we have some many overweight people in the world, could it be to the fact that junk is so much cheaper than healthy?????

mjluva829- I am planning the whole 2 weeks as well one of my biggest problems is fruit I usually slip on that. Welcome aboard.

nefarious_wytch- we will be here for lots of support, it will take lots of planning but you can do it.

Me- I did some cooking yesterday I made the shredded pork for supper and I also made the taco bake for lunches and I am going to make the meatballs for tonights supper.

Well I must dash and get breakfast for the wee ones. Have a great day on the beach.

I (re)started P1 yesterday as well. I did P1 successfully about 3 weeks ago (just for the 2 weeks) and lost 7 lbs. I hit some roadbumps when it came time to switch to P2. I think b/c it's not as strict, I took a few too many liberties. This time I will do it right. The good news, is in that week or 2 of attempting P2 unsucessfully, I didn't gain anything...just stayed the same. So, I'm back on...stocked up on good groceries and everything. Tonight's menu is grilled sirlion burgers smothered in grilled onions and mushrooms, and a side of broccoli. :)

yeah, I made it to the store. Got all kinds of good stuff to try. Morning Star Farms has a new "meal starters" thing for vegetarians. It's "fake" chicken, but it's not breaded at all like their chicken nuggets or anything. So, I thought it might be a nice protein addition to my stir fry vegetables. Haven't tried it yet, but it looked good.

hey weezle. Are you a vegetarian (i'm taking what is suggested in the above post)? I was a vegetarian for 6 years and so I have some great ideas for vegetarian meals that can easily be converted for SB. i just posted a recipe for lime and ginger tofu. quite often too you can sautee tofu and use it in place of ground beef. remember the great thing about tofu is its versatility and its ability to soak up any flavours you cook it in. check out my coconut bean soup recipe in phase 1 soups and stews. very good and filling, especially if you like african food.

Hey chickies, do you have room for 1 more? I've been on and off the beach so much there's sand all over my house LOl!

The first time I lost 12lbs in two weeks. This time I really want to stick with it. I have some adorable capri's in my closet that need to see the light!

Oh, and more pressure...Vacation is in 50 days!

Day 2 and I am doing better than yesterday. I didn't slip up yesterday but I wasn't prepared food wise so I didn't get as many veggies as I should have. Today will be better and then I hit the market tomorrow to stock up for the holiday weekend. The hard part is going to be an International Street Fair this Saturday, this thing is all about eating and drinking. I know now that I will be having something to drink there so my plan is to eat before I go (tons of veggies) and then stick to wine althought I will be wanting a beer.

Yeah, I'm a veggiemuhtarian. Have been for 10 years. Not because I want to, just because I have to for health reasons.

I like to tweak the recipes on here. Most of them are so good!

hey little chick. i'm glad things are going well for you. i also haven't had a slip up yet whichh is really good. easy to do though when you don't have any non SB food in your house and no money to go buy other stuff. i am, however, upset cause i used my last 2 eggs to make the chocolate meringue kisses and they failed miserably so now i don't have any eggs.

i am also getting my water .... i drank 32 oz of water yesterday! i had the hiccups numerous times and drinking a bunch of water really fast is the best way to get rid of them so that helped. :)

hope everyone else is doing good.

Er... I'm ashamed to say that i had to drop out on day one. :( I was so hungry that I couldn't sleep, so I had a bowl of cereal. I've done phase one before, so I know it's not impossible for me, but I've never been so hungry on this diet! I even ate tons of veg (mostly lettuce) and drank lots of water. I don't know what happened, but I was miserable. (Shaky, dizzy, etc. Like hypoglycemia.) I think I'm going to give it another go next Monday, and if I can't cut it, I may just go straight to phase two. Better than not doing it at all, right? :^:

samsara - lettuce doesn't contain a lot of nutrition. Were you eating healthy carbs like legumes? Dairy products like milk and fat free plain yogurt are also helpful.

Samsara, a belated welcome to The Beach. I just spotted you now.

Please be sure to read the Revised Phase I Food List in the FAQ Section. You need milk and legumes to feel good.

Morning chicks today is day 5.... for me still good. I faced off a piece of cake at work last night. For me working at the store is my biggest challenge. Anyway there was birthday cake, I avoid it when I first went to work then I thought oh maybe one little piece wouldn't hurt....so I went down and looked at it then walked away. YIPEE for me.

nefarious_wytch - keep up the good work. don't get discouraged. Go buy some eggs atleast they are cheap. It is sooooo expensive to get healthy. You have 4 days in and YEAH for drinking your water. That is one of my biggest challenges.

little chick...thanks for the encouragement.

day 5 and still going strong, just enjoying my cheese, tomato, avocado and dill omlette this morning. I borrowed $20 off a co-worker so i could eat and feed my cat (she gets more pissed off than me when she doesn't have food).

hope everyone's doing well.

Well, for me it's Day 4, and so far so good. It's TOM, so I may have retained a couple of pounds of water back, but I still have lost since Tuesday. (I also had a "celebration" after I posted this morning, so maybe that was some of the extra weight, too?)

I'm not going out this weekend, even though it's Labor Day weekend, because I know I will drink if I go out, and I don't want to drink. (Yes, for those of you who think you're losing it, I just said I DON'T WANT TO DRINK.)

Now, I could USE a drink....but that's something completely different. I also could use a lot of other things to eat (especially last night) because of TOM and the depression that comes along with it. But, I'm staying strong, so far!

Good luck to the rest of you who are fighting your way through Ph1 too.

Barb and Ruth - I did drink milk, but didn't eat any legumes. Come to think of it, last time I did phase one, I ate a lot of black beans (my favorite) and didn't feel nearly as hungry. I will definitely be eating them again when I start phase one next week! :) Thanks for the reminder.

weezle...i feel your pain about the drinking thing. that's one of my biggest obstacles. i'm soo used to going out to the bar and drinking...if i want to have a party nite its rum and coke but if i want to just relax, its beer....and trust me, it's hard giving up beer. i'm still tempted with the idea of cheating for a beer or two. its really hard especially at my age (and i would gues syou and i are around the same age) to not go to the bars and drink on a long weekend (especially labour day weekend).
you definately have more willpower than me.

Don't feel so bad. I hate that I'm not drinking. And it's not that I have to have beer, it's that beer = my social life, and I typically don't have much of a social life outside of beer. Even my friends that don't DRINK called me today saying "We going to karaoke tonight?" Sigh. Nope. Not me. Staying home and making cauliflower recipes. Mmmm. Yay.

I will say that I am drinking next Friday because it's my friend Molly's birthday and her birthday is the whole reason that I wanted to drop some pounds in the first place. I'll be back on after that, but Friday night is my night with my girl! WOO HOO. Just not until then. Stupid holiday weekend. Even my parents are taking it off.

Not me though. I'm going to be a saint. Well, at least I won't go off plan. Cauliflower here I come!

that's my problem too .... beer = my social life. i pretty much only go to concerts and bars (and i have a crush on a bartender too which makes it even harder). and most of hte concerts i go to are at bars or other venues that serve alcohol (with the exception of the upcoming Dead Can Dance and Nine Inch Nails concerts.

I hate not having alcohol in my life, not that i Need alcohol, but i enjoy it.

Today is day 7 and I am holding strong. I am still feeling a little tired but that could be because of TOM, I weigh in tomorrow morning. I am hoping I lost something. I feel thinner which is weird because I normally don't durning tom but we will see tomorrow. How is everyone else doing?????

Down another pound today, which makes 6 since I started over. Woo hoo! I am starting to feel thinner, too, in my mid-section. It's been really rough since it's my TOM and I want to pig out and eat every carb under the sun, but I've stayed OP.

Going to the store again today to make sure we have enough things to make food for Terry, since he's starting tomorrow. I'm excited for him, I just hope he sticks to it. Wish him luck!

Hey chickies. I haven't been around the Forum much, but I started Phase One on Aug 30th--just for the first time. I have enjoyed it mostly. Those beans really do make a difference! At first I was not feeling hungry at all, which is so fabulous. Now, I feel hungry and want sugar...probably b/c I have not been eating as many legumes! I had black beans for lunch with some carb-friendly soup-YUM! I have lost about 6 pounds so far, which is fantastic, but I am looking forward to adding back some good carbs! And fruit, I miss fruit.

Anyway, just wanted to say hi!
