View Full Version : One-derland!

Hey ladies! Guess what?!

I made it! I'm at 199! I've officially taken my first step over the 200/100 border and am a permanent resident of One-derland.

Yes. I am a permanent resident! I've decided I never want to see any other number at the beginning of my weight again.

You know what came to my attention yesterday after the cloud of euphoria lifted enough for me to think clearly? I've never seen a gain through these whole 8 weeks I've been on the program. Last time I did this, I was on it for 7 weeks and lost only 3 pounds because I had been gaining a few pounds there and losing half a pound here. It says to me that I really want this and that I'm loving the results.

I think what's so much fun is that I can go shopping in my closet again. I'm putting on clothes that are supposed to be a size too small and they're fitting beautifully. Yes, there are still some problem areas (I'm still 64 pounds away from my goal, after all), but the point is that the clothes are fitting so I can wear them out and feel comfortable in them. The smallest pant size I can get into is an Old Navy 16 (who knows what that means), and I can get into a New York and Company size large shirt. My body shape is tightening up because of my workout, so I'm creating a different shape than what I used to see in the mirror when I was 199 before.

I'm just so excited to be here and to see this number! When the lady told me I had lost a pound, I was said, "Are you sure?" Lol. See, it's my TOM (wrapping it up today, thank God), and I was just praying to break even, but I was able to lose, which was awesome. I wonder how much it'll go down next week because TOM usually screws losses up, lol.

And it sounds weird, I'm sure, but I am so thrilled to get to go from 26 points a day to 24. Lol. My goal is of course 22, so I'm just getting closer and closer to that number! Hehe.

But I don't think I could have done this without you sistas! I didn't have this kind of support before, which I think is why I didn't do so well. But being able to come and talk to you guys and read your posts and everything has really been such an amazing change in the way I see this program. Thank you all so much for being there for me!!!

I hope you all are doing very well!

You have inspired me to re think my 200 lb goal, and maybe shoot for 190 - 195 just so I can everyone in Onederland :)

Again, congrats, and keep it up!!!

08-29-2005, 10:51 PM
*giggles* Awwww...you guys!!!! Gotta say...LOVE all the graphics, lmao. They're hilarious!!

And Liz, you can absolutely do it! You know what helped me get here? I wasn't obsessing over it like I normally do. I dunno...I just kinda got myself into the habit of dropping 1-2 pounds a week, and before I knew it: One-derland. I bet you can definitely meet your goal by December! Stick with it and you can do anything!! :D

08-30-2005, 06:29 PM
Amanda..I am new here..but just wanted to say that I am so excited for you! I cannot wait to get there...so does it feel good or what??? I know it must! WOO HOO FOR YOU!!

Welcome to the Slimmin' Sistas, Marcie. You are so close to one-derland yourself. We'll be pulling for you -- or pushing you over the line, whatever you need more!

08-30-2005, 10:33 PM
Hey Marcie!! Welcome to the group! :D So glad you came to join us!

Oh man...yeah, it feels so amazing to be at 199. I'm having so much fun shopping in my own closet again, lmao. It's hilarious...all these clothes I was so close to donating are starting to fit again. It's so much fun!

So, get your butt over here in One-derland! :D If you ever need any help or motivation or anything, your sistas here will be here to, as Maggie so wonderfully put it, push you over that 200/199 line. ;)

LOVE IT LOVE IT LOVE IT!! I will be over there soon!! I just realized you are in Auburn, AL WAR EAGLE!! We just moved from Montgomery to LA. My husband graduated from Auburn and is die hard!

09-01-2005, 09:26 AM
AH!!!! WAR EAGLE, sista!!! My dad graduated from Auburn, which of course ensured that I would be a Tiger baby from the moment of conception, lmao. I really think my sister and I truly bleed Auburn orange and blue. ;) I'm here at the university getting my Masters in English Lit., starting my second year. :)

And I cannot wait for the game on Saturday! I am so pissed off at Tech for the last time we played them (personal reasons--they were really cruel to the AU marching band of which my sister was a member), so I can't wait to bury them in The Jungle. ;) You're gonna watch the game on TV, right? :D

...and sure...this is on topic...uhm...*thinks* Ah! When I go to my personal trainer this morning, I'll get myself measured! :D I know I've lost inches because of the way my clothes are fitting--I just want to get some numbers out there. :)

09-01-2005, 11:23 AM
We were supposed to be at the game this weekend but b/c of Katrina we cannot get there. We have season tickets through my hubbie's family. We used to go to every game. I hate being away from it. We went last year to the Sugar Bowl...ironically enough, in New Orleans. I'm pretty sure DH's blood runs blue and orange as well. His parents also graduated from AU and I agree about TECH....TIGER MEAT!!! So you go to a trainer also? I see mine twice a week, but he doesn't do measurements for me...just fat testing. What all do you and your trainer do? Weight training? Has it helped you a lot? I think it really helps me with accountability. I know some days I don't feel like going, but I have a session with him and I will not cancel on him. So cool that we have so much in common!!

09-01-2005, 01:07 PM
Haha! Tiger Meat! :D I'm a little disappointed because I'll miss the Wreck Tech parade tomorrow night (I'm going to Atlanta for a Shakespeare play), but I'll be there in spirit, haha. And I'm sorry you can't be there Saturday! That really sucks. :( But maybe next weekend, hm?

And yeah! I love my trainer! She's amazing. I work out at an all women's gym (because I'm really shy around guys, lol). We do weight training mostly, but she prescribes particular cardio exercises for every day (so I'm doing something cardio related for at least half an hour a day). I see her twice a week for weight training, but I'll go in at least once more on my own to do my own weight training, using our general routine as a guide. She measures me once every three months which is also when we do the fat percentage stuff.

I started out in January with the personal trainer with the same attitude as you have. I needed to be accountable and I'm not one to cancel appointments once I've made a commitment. Yet when I started WW, I made this shift; I started going to the gym because I wanted to be there for me. Working out with my trainer was a really great perk. And to be honest, I've been seeing some amazing results and in such little time and what feels like almost no effort (though I do know I work my butt off all the time...it just doesn't feel like drudgery).
