Hi. I have symptoms of PCOS but I don't know what kind of doctor to see to find out if I have it. What kind of doc do I go to and what questions do I ask him or her? I've been really concerned about this lately but I've been too afraid to ask questions. I went to the gynecologist a few months ago and I wish I would have had the nerve to ask then. Now I've moved to a new town and I have to get all new doctors. Do I see a gynecologist about this? What do I say when I make the appointment, when they ask why I need to see the doctor? If you are curious, my symptoms are: mild hirsutism, acne, overweight, difficulty losing weight, gestational diabetes, 2 large babies, depression in the past, and fatigue. I do not have a problem with my periods or with infertility. I'm currently on ortho-tricyclen which helps a little with the acne and seems to be slowing down the hirsutism a bit. I was hoping that the bcp would treat my symptoms enough so that I wouldn't have to go get checked out.
Silly me!
If anyone could help I would really appreciate it.
Thanks,
sillygoose
