I'm home today because they cancelled school, including employees. The hurricane has shifted into the gulf and we are supposed to just get fringes from it. I hope it doesn't turn and head toward the Carolinas and Tennessee for all of your sakes! Anyway, it is very windy here right now. I might go out for a run. Maybe I'll doing some cleaning today (HA!!)

Shelley - I'm so glad to read your post this morning. I get worried about you when I watch the news and see the weather in Florida. I have a major phobia of snakes. I can imagine your horror seeing one in the chicken pen.
HEllo everyone! I read all the posts everyday, just not posting because it caused me too much pain in my hands. (Carpal Tunnel) I see the surgeon next Thursday, I can't wait. Anybody had the surgery? I would love to hear about it!

Shelley, I have been so caught up in things around here, I didn't even realize you guys had another hurricane on the way until last night! PLEASE STAY SAFE & try to enjoy your day off!

Janice, I was wondering where you were hiding out! I am not familiar with the CT procedure nor do I know anyone personally who has been through it. I hope you get good news when you see the doc.

Janice-I've missed you! I certainly hope that the surgery helps. I'm sorry, but I don't know anyone that has had the operation right off. I do seem to remember someone from school having it a few years ago, though.

Janice,
I just happened to read your post and thought I'd let you know that I had the surgery on my right hand about a year and a half ago. It was one of the best things I ever had done. The only pain I felt was when the doctor numbed my hand. They will have to give you a shot in the hand to do this. I was awake for the whole process. Afterwards I felt no pain. Your hand will be wrapped up almost like it's in a cast afterward. They don't want you to move your fingers for a while. Make sure you keep your hand elevated in an up-right position for the next two days. It will keep you hand from swelling. I really didn't have any pain when I got home. It was a very simple process. My husband has had the operation and so have several of my friends everyone has had a successful operation. Hope this helps to calm any fear you might have.

Janicej - Thank you for letting me know about the surgery. I didn't realize that I would be awake, but with the pain that I have all the time now I will just be glad to get it done.
Shelley - Hope you are safe, we do worry about you with that wild weather you get.
I see the specialist on Wednesday at 8:00 am for nerve tests. I will keep you all posted on whats happening.
Sherry - It sounds like Low Carb is working for you. I like it because it gets rid of the sugar cravings.
Hello to everyone else.

Hello

I hope everyone has had a great weekend! It's been a very busy one for me. We just got home today from Debbie's Grandson's 3rd b/day party. We really enjoyed it and I had NO CAKE!! It didn't even bother me in the least since I've got the sugar out of my system.

I hope all is well and you had some fun this weekend!

Hugs...

GREAT JOB SHER! I can't believe the little guy is already 3!!!

Sending special thoughts and prayers out to any of you that may be in the path of Katrina. The way it sounds, it will be a level 5 when it hits in the morning. I feel for the families who will be suffering through this terrible storm.

My thoughts and prayers go out to everyone in the path of Katrina also. There is a fellow WW'er on the WW board that just fled New Orleans. I am so worried about all those people. I know what they are going through, not to know what they will be returning home to.

Sherry- Congratulations!!!!! You are doing great. I am going back on Low Carb because I need to get the sugar out of my system.
If you start getting muscle cramps get potassium supplement. After about five weeks I started getting muscle cramps and the potassium got rid of it fast.
Stay safe everyone.

Hey Girls I am finally back posting after my party. We had a wonderful night. I wasn't sure if the weather was going to hold out but the rainy clouds went away and the warm blue sky shone for us. We had a 45 minute aqua fit class while sipping sangrias by the pool. Our dinner was superb. Lots of flavors to tantalize our tase buds.

I am getting very nervous and many times have thought of backing out of the surgery. I am scared help me! I am worried about the scars (I don't like body scars) and I am also concerned about the pain and what if something goes wrong and I look deformed or worse yet dead. I know that this is just the presurgery worries but it is tough.

Shelley thank goodnes that you are ok. I am glad that Katrina did not affect you except to have a day off of work. Pretty frightful about New Orleans.
That was very nice of your co worker to give you the purse. I am sure that she wouldn't expect anything back in return.

Janice I had ct surgery about 20 years ago. I was put to sleep. I know now they don't do it that way. My inscision was bigger then too. The worse part is trying to remember not to use that hand. Let us know when your surgery will be.

Sherry congratulation on the weight loss. You are doing great and even turning down cake. I am so proud of you.

I have been busy trying to make some meals for the freezer. Today I made a beef broth that I used in my French Onion soup and Ministroni soup and stew. Everything is ready now for the freezer. I also have other foods made up so that it will be easier for Larry.
It is pretty warm and sunny out today. I think that I will go for a dip in the pool now.

Hi Girls

We are getting scared here in the Nashville area. All the schools around us are already called off for tomorrow. I haven't heard about Metro yet, but I'm sure we will be out too. I hope everyone is safe in the path of this storm.

Sherry forgot to tell you that we were in charge of cutting the cake and dipping the ice cream yesterday. We had icing up to our elbows and didn't even lick once

I'm down 2 pounds this morning too. Sherry quit copying me. LOL
