I'm home today because they cancelled school, including employees. The hurricane has shifted into the gulf and we are supposed to just get fringes from it. I hope it doesn't turn and head toward the Carolinas and Tennessee for all of your sakes! Anyway, it is very windy here right now. I might go out for a run. Maybe I'll doing some cleaning today (HA!!)

08-26-2005, 09:32 AM
Shelley - I'm so glad to read your post this morning. I get worried about you when I watch the news and see the weather in Florida. I have a major phobia of snakes. I can imagine your horror seeing one in the chicken pen.
HEllo everyone! I read all the posts everyday, just not posting because it caused me too much pain in my hands. (Carpal Tunnel) I see the surgeon next Thursday, I can't wait. Anybody had the surgery? I would love to hear about it!

08-26-2005, 10:24 AM
Shelley, I have been so caught up in things around here, I didn't even realize you guys had another hurricane on the way until last night! PLEASE STAY SAFE & try to enjoy your day off!

Janice, I was wondering where you were hiding out! I am not familiar with the CT procedure nor do I know anyone personally who has been through it. I hope you get good news when you see the doc.

08-26-2005, 11:35 AM
Janice-I've missed you! I certainly hope that the surgery helps. I'm sorry, but I don't know anyone that has had the operation right off. I do seem to remember someone from school having it a few years ago, though.

08-27-2005, 08:58 AM
Shelley stay safe down there with the weather.

Dee good luck with your surgery.

Sherry and the rest hope all is well with you

08-27-2005, 08:07 PM
:) Janice,
I just happened to read your post and thought I'd let you know that I had the surgery on my right hand about a year and a half ago. It was one of the best things I ever had done. The only pain I felt was when the doctor numbed my hand. They will have to give you a shot in the hand to do this. I was awake for the whole process. Afterwards I felt no pain. Your hand will be wrapped up almost like it's in a cast afterward. They don't want you to move your fingers for a while. Make sure you keep your hand elevated in an up-right position for the next two days. It will keep you hand from swelling. I really didn't have any pain when I got home. It was a very simple process. My husband has had the operation and so have several of my friends everyone has had a successful operation. Hope this helps to calm any fear you might have.:goodluck:

08-27-2005, 10:19 PM
Janicej - Thank you for letting me know about the surgery. I didn't realize that I would be awake, but with the pain that I have all the time now I will just be glad to get it done.
Shelley - Hope you are safe, we do worry about you with that wild weather you get.
I see the specialist on Wednesday at 8:00 am for nerve tests. I will keep you all posted on whats happening.
Sherry - It sounds like Low Carb is working for you. I like it because it gets rid of the sugar cravings.
Hello to everyone else.

08-28-2005, 05:37 PM
Hello

I hope everyone has had a great weekend! It's been a very busy one for me. We just got home today from Debbie's Grandson's 3rd b/day party. We really enjoyed it and I had NO CAKE!! :nono: It didn't even bother me in the least since I've got the sugar out of my system. :D

I hope all is well and you had some fun this weekend!

08-29-2005, 01:16 AM
GREAT JOB SHER! I can't believe the little guy is already 3!!!

Sending special thoughts and prayers out to any of you that may be in the path of Katrina. The way it sounds, it will be a level 5 when it hits in the morning. I feel for the families who will be suffering through this terrible storm.

08-29-2005, 06:48 AM
My thoughts and prayers go out to everyone in the path of Katrina also. There is a fellow WW'er on the WW board that just fled New Orleans. I am so worried about all those people. I know what they are going through, not to know what they will be returning home to.

08-29-2005, 08:18 AM
Prayers and thoughts are going out to all people in the path of Katrina. May they all be safe.

On a good note: Down another 2 lbs!!!! :cp: I'm on a roll this time!

Have a great day!

08-29-2005, 11:49 AM
Sherry- Congratulations!!!!! You are doing great. I am going back on Low Carb because I need to get the sugar out of my system.
If you start getting muscle cramps get potassium supplement. After about five weeks I started getting muscle cramps and the potassium got rid of it fast.
Stay safe everyone.

Hey Girls I am finally back posting after my party. We had a wonderful night. I wasn't sure if the weather was going to hold out but the rainy clouds went away and the warm blue sky shone for us. We had a 45 minute aqua fit class while sipping sangrias by the pool. Our dinner was superb. Lots of flavors to tantalize our tase buds.

I am getting very nervous and many times have thought of backing out of the surgery. I am scared help me! I am worried about the scars (I don't like body scars) and I am also concerned about the pain and what if something goes wrong and I look deformed or worse yet dead. I know that this is just the presurgery worries but it is tough.

Shelley thank goodnes that you are ok. I am glad that Katrina did not affect you except to have a day off of work. Pretty frightful about New Orleans.
That was very nice of your co worker to give you the purse. I am sure that she wouldn't expect anything back in return.

Janice I had ct surgery about 20 years ago. I was put to sleep. I know now they don't do it that way. My inscision was bigger then too. The worse part is trying to remember not to use that hand. Let us know when your surgery will be.

Sherry congratulation on the weight loss. You are doing great and even turning down cake. I am so proud of you.

I have been busy trying to make some meals for the freezer. Today I made a beef broth that I used in my French Onion soup and Ministroni soup and stew. Everything is ready now for the freezer. I also have other foods made up so that it will be easier for Larry.
It is pretty warm and sunny out today. I think that I will go for a dip in the pool now.

Hi Girls:wave:

We are getting scared here in the Nashville area. All the schools around us are already called off for tomorrow. I haven't heard about Metro yet, but I'm sure we will be out too. I hope everyone is safe in the path of this storm.

Sherry forgot to tell you that we were in charge of cutting the cake and dipping the ice cream yesterday. We had icing up to our elbows and didn't even lick once

I'm down 2 pounds this morning too. Sherry quit copying me. LOL

08-29-2005, 06:53 PM
GREAT JOB DEB! Stay safe & out of the way of the storm. Thank goodness, it seems to be lessening in strength.

Dee, when do you go in for surgery this week? Everything will be ok, just keep the faith. When the jitters hit, just think of your goal in 6 months to look the very best you can, maybe that will help.

08-29-2005, 07:08 PM
Debbie congratulations on the weight loss. You and Sherry are doing wonderful. It sure helps to have a buddy that is close to encourage you.

Gayle thank you for the words of wisdom. I am having surgery on wednesday. It is so close already. YIKES!!!

08-29-2005, 07:09 PM
Hey Gayle I was just looking at how much weight you lost. You are just about half way to goal. You are doing a great job losing.

A Brain Test For Your Hubby:

**I'll be back after dinner to post

08-29-2005, 11:16 PM
Just a quick hello to everyone.
Sherry and Debbie you are doing fantastic! Keep it up and keep inspiring me!!!

Dee, good luck with the surgery. I'm sure you will be happy with the results. I'll be thinking about you!

I'm glad those threatened by the hurricane are doing okay. Hopefully the worst is over. My new step-sister and her husband were on a cruise that was supposed to dock in New Orleans yesterday. They diverted the ship to Galveston, Texas. Unfortunately, DeAnna's car was parked in New Orleans and is probably a complete loss. They rented a car in Texas and drove home today. At least a car can be replaced. I feel so terrible for all those people who are now homeless.

Okay, I'm off to bed now. Have a great evening everyone!

08-30-2005, 12:50 AM
Dee, you'll do just fine, relax and take advantage of the experience. I will be thinking of you!

Ramona, nice to see you! Glad your family is safe. I told Steve tonight we have no room to complain about anything in our life. If we did then we would be awful selfish considering what so many have been through with the hurricane.

Sher, my husband enjoyed the game! In fact he kept playing it over & over! He wanted to know if the pic was you!!! I said YES! LOL!

08-30-2005, 07:00 AM
Sherry and Debbie-You are both doing wonderful! Keep up the exercising the healthy eating.

Dee-You will be fine. Quit worrying. I am sending extra hugs and kisses your way.

08-30-2005, 01:39 PM
Shelley I really needed to hear that you are sending extra hugs and kisses my way. Thank you.

Gayle thanks for the encouragement. I just have to focus on the out come. Larry said that the scars won't bother him, and that he wouldn't even see them.

Ramona thanks for thinking of me. I am sorry to hear about DeAnna's car, luckly that they were safe on their cruise. How are you feeling now about your Dad's marraige and your new step family?

I will try to post later tonight if I get a chance. If not I love you and appreciate all the support that you have given me. Larry will post on how I am doing. He will let me know what is going on here so you girls better be good.

08-30-2005, 02:18 PM
Hello

We are out of school today due to the winds, rain & storms. A lot of people are out of power here but nothing compared to where Katrina hit.We are all fine. The winds were really bad last night and this morning. Things are calming down now.

I have a bad headache and can't post now but wanted to stop in and say hi.

Dee....I know how excited & nervous you must feel! Your surgery will go well and you'll be one sexy mama!! We're all here for you! I love you!

08-30-2005, 06:59 PM
Sherry-I feel for all those people affected by the storm, because it could have easily hit here. We are all very lucky that it didn't affect us much. I'm sure the kids were much safer being home rather than at school. They say the reason they close is because the buses aren't safe in high winds.

Dee-I love you, and good luck!

08-31-2005, 08:40 AM
I love you guys, this it I am off. Thanks for all the support. Larry will be reading and updating me. Be good.

08-31-2005, 09:34 AM
GOOD LUCK DEE! Blessings sent for a speedy recovery. Larry can feel free to post here anytime. If you need anything at all, just let me know.

LOVE YOU!!!! Gayle

****PS****We want to see pics!!! LOL!

08-31-2005, 09:46 AM
Dee, I'll be thinking of you! Hope all goes well!

08-31-2005, 08:57 PM
One of my friends on the WW running thread lost her home and everything to the hurricane. She lived in New Orleans. Now she is relocating to Houston. So sad! The running people have a donation email going on for her family.

Dee-I hope everything went well. I want to see before and after pix!

08-31-2005, 10:42 PM
Dee, I hope everything went well!!!

I wonder how Jennelle is??? Has anyone heard???? I was thinking she is located right around where the hurricane hit the hardest.

It's sickening to watch the television and see the pictures of all the lives destroyed from a natural disaster. So many of those people have nothing left of their homes etc. One lady said it best, when questioned about losing her home, she said that was nothing compared to if she lost a family member. Prayers are sent to everyone facing such a horrible time.

08-31-2005, 11:18 PM
Hello

I've been so busy since I got home from work. I need to hurry and get into the bed because when I get off work tomorrow, I have a Titans Pre-Season game to work. Another 17 hours to work tomorrow! :(

Gayle....I wonder about Jennelle also. I do know she lives in Mississippi where the hurrican hit but I'm not sure what part she lives in. I went and looked and she last posted on 8-25. I hope she's ok.

Dee...Thinking of you!!!!

Has anyone heard from Carol?

Going to bed. I'll post on Friday. Love to all...........

08-31-2005, 11:22 PM
Gayle....I forgot to tell you........I went searching through old posts and found this picture of Allison from 2003!! It's so hard to believe she's in school now!!!!!!!!

09-01-2005, 09:44 AM
YIKES! That power Ranger had some issues, huh??? LOL! I will show her the pic after school, she'll be suprised! She LOVES, LOVES, LOVES 1st grade. It is sooooooo cooolllll because they get to do math problems. Go figure, math was never my thing, but her father loves it too. She has 15 pages of homework this week, spelling words for a test on Friday and a book she needs to read 3 times and have us sign off on. I think it seems kinda like a heavy load for a 1st grader. Every night we are balancing time just for homework.

09-02-2005, 03:15 PM
Hello

Today I took off work because of getting home late last night working the Titans game. I'm one tired mama! I didn't sleep in this morning either. I was wide awake at 6:30. (sucks huh?!) Anyway, I have been cleaning house & doing laundry all day!! We're going up to Debbie's in the a.m. and staying until Sunday so I wanted everything done when I get home.

What is everyone's plans for the LONG weekend? Be safe, careful and HAVE FUN!! :D

Has anyone heard from Dee (or Larry)???

Also....I'll ask again...Has anyone heard from Carol? I wonder how she is. I sure miss her!

Dryer just buzzed. Talk to ya'll soon. I'll try to post from Debbie's. Also...I'll try to check back in tonight.

Love Ya'll!! :grouphug:

09-02-2005, 07:26 PM
Sherry-My mom's birthday is today, so tomorrow my best friend and my mom and I are going shopping, then having lunch together. Tomorrow night we will be going out to dinner. Sunday night Mike and I are going to an engagement party. Not much at home time this weekend. I will be doing my regular morning runs, though.

And what are everyone else's plans??

09-02-2005, 08:21 PM
Sher, I received a few emails from Carol, but nothing personal. Have fun at Deb's!

Shelley, tell mom happy birthday! How many years young will she be?????

I'm working Saturday because of the Labor day holiday....seems booze and three day weekends go together! LOL! Steve works Saturday night at the store. I have a wine kit ready for us to mix up, so maybe we might be able to do that Sunday. As of this point, really nothing special planned.

09-02-2005, 08:47 PM
My Son Chris called this morning to tell me that he won't be taking his military 2 week leave to come home next week as planned. The Navy is sending him to New Orleans for 2-3 months to help with bodies & clean-up. Please keep him in your prayers along with all the ones that was affected by the hurrican.

09-03-2005, 06:22 AM
Sherry-Absolutely! Chris and the victims are continually in my prayers.

Gayle-My mom is 82. She still gets around very good.

I did something last night I haven't done in months. I finished off some jellybeans. Probably 2 cups! Just when I've been down to 124-125. The sad part is that I really don't feel too guilty about it. Luckily, there aren't anymore in the house. I was using them to eat on my runs (4 at a time for a little boost after 5-7 miles.) I bought these other ones called Sports Beans made for exercising, so of course I didn't need the others anymore. I should have just thrown them out. Today's another day, though. 9 miles this morning should hopefully help offset those calories!

09-03-2005, 10:38 AM
Hi Girls:wave:

Sherry...Chris is in my prayers!! I know you are so proud of him!!

Dee....How are you doing? I was thinking of you this morning. Hope you are doing OK.

Hope everyone has a great Labor Day weekend!! Be safe please!!

09-03-2005, 12:41 PM
I'm going to start a new thread before we leave for Debbie's.

Gayle....Your tracker looks good! Keep up the great job!!!

Shelley...You deserved those jelly beans! Don't feel bad! ;)

Have a great long weekend all!! HUGS!

09-03-2005, 12:43 PM

Please Go To #48............A New Thread Has Been Started!!!!!!
