Hi everyone!!!!
I figured i would start a thread for those of us trying the wendie plan so we could see how it works for everyone!!!
I am trying the wendie plan starting today, i hope it works, my actual goal with the wendie plan is to actually get me to track!!! I am really lousy at that, but i figured since i have to pay more attention to which day is how many points, that i would have to track. Wish me luck!!!!

Hi Marion :) We are again in sync. Yesterday, I started the Wendie Plan myself. I managed to stick to it even though I think 22 points is such a small amount of food. Today, I get 27. And also like you, I am using it as a way to get myself to refocus (once again!) on the journalling and weighing and measuring. I had a perfect on program day and it actually feels good to be under total control. And so far, so good today. I'm looking forward to hear how this works for everyone. Are you still keeping up with your exercise?

I'm on my second week (lost 4 lbs on the first)...
I agree with "n 2 a swan" - the low days take a bit of getting used to. But I do tend to follow the program better in general when I have to change the pts everyday. Actually I usually end up planning my meals the night before now. Today is 28 pts for me so that's good...

Hi everyone. I think I will give this a try too. I printed out the points chart that you put up Kim. Mentally the high day will take some getting used to, since I have so drilled in my head not to go over, but I added up the total weeks points, and it actually came out to I believe 9 less than if I at at my totally OP high each day for that same week. I have never been one to bank points or count exercise points either...but I am giving this a shot! Good luck to us all!

Hi guys!!!
Well my first wendie day is just about at a close, i think i am going to head out for a walk. I had a hard time today, cause i was totally off schedule, in the fact i didnt get to eat a bite till 1:30, and then it was just pretzels, and then supper, but i did okay, i hit my 24 points on the money, and i TRACKED!!!!!!! I am glad there are quite a few of us trying this together :) My wi and my starting day actually arent going to coincide, but i did that on purpose, i wanted to have my high day on saturday, and it was going to be perfect as my wi day was wednesday, but the 4 other people i try and go to wi with decided friday was a better meeting overall, and so i decided i needed the comraderie of going together, so now my wi is on fridays. But i am still going to start my tracking week on wednesdays. Hope i havent totally confused everyone :dizzy: Okay i am gonna do it, i am gonna finish my mail and go for a walk, maybe, i will check back when i get home :) Have a great totally OP week!!!!!

Hi everyone! I've finished day 2 of Wendie's plan. I really wanted to eat more (a little out of habit, a little out of hunger), but I stuck with my alotted points. Actually, I was hungry earlier in the day I think because I only ate 22 points yesterday and exercised. Under this plan, are we allowed to count exercise points in exchange for food points? So far I have earned 8 exercise points and I have not counted any of them. I've also tried to increase my water intake to at least 9 glasses.

Good luck everyone!

hi i have 2 seconds and i gotta dash out the door, but i believe you are supposed to add the exercise points and eat them..........basically if you earned 2 extra points that day, use them, dont deduct them from your allowed points for that day.

Wendie has started her own site, for anyone who is interested. It's at: http://pub70.************/blightenup78347 . She has a section just devoted to questions about the Wendie Plan and to people who are trying to do it.

FWIW, she doesn't count exercise points. But like anything else, you're free to tinker until it works for you.

Wow, I should have counted my exercise points???????? That means that the day I ate 22 points and earned 3 exercise points, I really only had 19 points????? No wonder I was hungry. :^: At least I now know that I don't have to have as much food as I've been eating and I won't die from sheer hunger. Thanks for the information.

You guys have so inspired me that I looked up the Wendie Plan, printed it out and charted in my journal my point allotment for the whole week (instead of my usual points range). Today is my first day trying it. :)

I'm really hoping this will get me back on track. At this week's WI I discovered I had regained 1 pound. That got me think about my program and I realized I've been slipping - a lot - in controlling my portions and tracking my BLTs (bites, licks and tastes). I have refocussed. I'm doing the Wendie Plan this week and have recommitted to exercising - although the heat and humidity are stifling these days! I'm gonna DO IT!!!;)

Have a nice day everyone and thanks for being so inspiring - in other words, THANKS FOR BEING YOU!

Re: exercise points

Yes. If you earn and use your exercise points, just incorporate them into your daily numbers.

Wendie herself doesn't count exercise points. She recognizes that others do, which is fine. Here's what she says in her main post about "The Wendie Plan in a Nutshell": http://pub70.************/flightenup78347frm4.showMessage?topicID=14.topic

------
What about exercise points? What about them? I never use them. I just know that I don’t plan any big exercise on my low points days. If I am going on an 8 mile hike, I will probably do it on my high or super-high day, so that I can take advantage of the extra fuel to get me through the exercise.

I think WW was using the activity points as a carrot to get people to exercise. More activity, more food. I don’t believe in that. Eat what your body needs. Exercise plays a good role in this plan, because exercising increases your metabolic rate. (Which turns up the thermostat even more!) So does increased muscle. Arrange your high point days on the days that you exercise. Or better yet, arrange your exercise around your high point days.

Thanks to everyone for helping me with the exercise points issue. I think that most days I will not use exercise points unless I am especially hungry, it's a really low point day, and/or it's TOM (when I am not responsible for my cravings).

Lauren, how are you? Are you trying this plan?

I've finished day 3. And regardless of whether this plan works, it feels good to be under better control.

Ok - here's where I got confused... I exercise 6 days a week and I know that my appetite is much greater when exercising then when not... I just had in the back of my mind that I need to eat those points because of this post I had read. Although I will say that last week I got ZERO in activity pts because of my asthma and that's when I followed the pts strictly and lost the 4 lbs. Sorry if I confused anyone....

from Wendie's thread.....
Heidi - I normally don't count activity points. I figure that if I exercise, I am doing my body good and burning off a few more calories. The only time I would add something would be if I had exercised to the point that my body really wanted something... meaning that I had exercised to the point that I had run out of fuel. But this is simply what I do - not what everyone does. I think you need to pay close attention to your body and what it needs. It is my suggestion that you try to schedule your workout days to fall on your higher point days... there are 4 of them per week. If you exercise hard more often than 4 days per week, you may need to add a couple of extra points to your low point days - if your body is in danger of running out of fuel.

Hi, Swan! No, I'm not trying it yet. Right now I'm just focusing on maintaining (or not gaining a ton). Next Tuesday is my day to re-focus on WW again, and I may try the Wendie plan just to try something different. But I do read Wendie's site and am planning to support it.

Way to go on your progress!

:D Hi all,
I am new to the wendie plan, someone mentioned it in the digi chat the other night checked the site out and thought...hmmmm....I can do this. So here I am, going to start this and really try to stick to it. You all sound like it is working for you and I am hearing lots of positive things about it. I am also exercising twice a week with step aerobics and trying to walk on the other days when and if I can find time. I am at a stand still with WW for some reason and I can not get through it. I have started slipping in the motivation department as well because of my plateau. So I think this idea will be a welcome change. I am journaling again and really excited to see the results. I am going to try to arrange my pts. too so that my higher days are on Saturday where we tend to have family outings more. My exercise days are Tues. and Thurs. so I hope I can accomadate this too. And yes from what I have understood on the wendie site she doesn't use exercise pts. She advocates only using rthem when you feel that your exercising makes you feel too low on fuel. You need a boost...so I will not count mine! Darn! I use to love that portion of WW. Well I see I have finished my novel, anyone with any tips, let me know! Take care! And see you all lighter!!!;)

Welcome Diana... I hope it works for you as well as it did for me. I lost 1 more today - so I am happy with that. Yes - it got me back to looking at each individual day and really planning it - not to have 2 days in a row with the same points. For awhile I was eating 29 pts daily - different foods - but it always landed on 29 for some reason. Let us know how you do.

GOOD MORNING

Hi there! Just thought I would stick my nose in here and tell ya'll what I have been doing. I had been eating the same number of points each day for a long while and just eeking out a few ounces here and there and a pound down a couple of pounds up type thing. I decided since I was so close to dropping to a different weight/point level I would use those points for the week. I did that and had a week of eating high and low days [not on purpoise ~ just how it happend]. I lost 4.2 that week. Then and only then did I see Wendies Plan. "WOW I thought," this is terrific. So I made myself a chart and have been following it to the "T" for 4 days now. Today is my 5th day and is to be a Very Low point day. Yesterday was my Very High day and even with knowing I had the points banked from the three previous days to cover it.... I felt a load of guilt eating all those points. But I will get over it quickly if all this paying close attention and landing on the "mark" each day pays out with a nice loss on Monday.

I wish all of you that are trying it success.

I have been following this plan for almost 2 weeks now. I've only weighed in once. So far, I've done fairly well with one exception. This week I had 2 higher point days in a row. But I journalled and today aimed for the 'right' point total. I think this plan has been successful for me if for no other reason than it has made me journal and count points religiously (the good, the bad and the ugly). I think that I am down at least a little.

Hi Maggie & Swan -
Well I WI this AM and stayed the same (I am a lucky girl..... since I had about 3 high point days this week and one was so high, I heard the captain say "Fasten your seatbelts"). But I agree with you swan.... it makes you journal more and really plan your meals. I know I should be doing that anyway - I just find it gives me more focus. Good Luck

GOOD EVENING

I am in to give a weight report for my first week on the plan: I showed a 2.6pound loss. I do believe it will work for me so I am going to do it again this week. Below is the chart I followed this week.

I wish each of you doing this plan success!

I have a question. Would it be ok, under the Wendie plan, if I switched days 4 and 5 just for this week? My birthday falls on a low day and I'd like to have the option of having something fun then. Has anyone reversed 2 of the days and had success? Thanks.

Hi Swan... I believe someone asked this same question on her site awhile back and she responded as long as you don't have the same amount of points 2 days in a row - you can vary any other days. HAPPY BIRTHDAY!!!!!
