Good morning, girlies!

It's 2 in the morning, and I'm obviously still up. Was it the little tiny nap I had today? The diet pop I drank around 10ish? Am I forever doomed to take "a little pill" to put me out at a reasonable time? :dizzy:

Hey, it rained yesterday, and it's chilly! I love it!! :hat:

Maybe I'll go to bed. Don't expect me back until mid-morning. :coffee:
Hope you're all sleeping soundly in your cozy beds.

Ellis, you aren't alone! I'm not feeling very tired, so I got up and got some water (I can always use more!) and plumped down in front of my computer. It's about 12:30 now. I don't know if it is the nap I had this (Friday) am, or if I'm just getting more energetic. It's not caffeine - I only had about 1 swallow of my tea this am (about 16+ hours ago). Nor is it sugar, natch!

I am tired, physically, though, so I'll be off shortly.

Everyone have a loverly weekend!

Good morning Chicklets~~ :coffee:

Okay so today is Day one of Detox for me. I got up and took my fiber. Oh, yummy stuff, that. :( Next is a warm lemon presse' (warm water with the juice of half a lemon).

Today's Mount Everest will be luncheon at the writers meeting. I'm not supposed to have any fats other than high lignan flaxseed oil...and the fixed menu at the luncheon is either tuna salad or chicken salad. I'm sure I'll figure something out. :) I can't even have my beloved decaf coffee or tea for the next two weeks. Whaaahhh.... :stress: Will I survive or cave in???

Heather and Ellis, I hope you got some sleep. I know how it feels to be sleep deprived. It ain't fun.

I'll hang around for a while and hope some more of you lovely chickies come out on the sand to play.

Hi Chicks

It's turning into a lovely afternoon here - comfortable temps around 70 degrees (about 21 degrees for those who are metric!), average humidity, sunny skies. I'm trying to do laundry and cleaning and generally catch up on chores.

We had our kitchen re-modelled, its not finished yet but there is dust and mess everywhere - as you can imagine! It's looking great though. I just hope its completed by Christmas! My DH is doing the remainder of the work - installing the extractor, tiling the walls and the flooring. But he is very busy with his business, and I suspect I will be complaining in a couple of months that it still isnt finished.

I had another disastrous week as far as eating is concerned - I wont go into the details too much, but basically, I was reliant on other people to feed me for several days, and um, well some just like to sabotage us, so it seems.
Back again to Day 1 P1 tomorrow!

Ellis thanks for starting us off. I hope you're enjoying some quality sleep now!

Heather, its nice to meet you! I dont think I've said hello to you yet.

Marianna, can you send some of that exercise enthusiasm up from down under please? I just cant get into a routine for a workout.

Mamacita- detox? And I was whining at doing P1 again!! You are a braver woman than I. Talking of flaxseed oil, I find that it has a rather unpleasant taste. I bought a bottle, used it twice but found it to be like a fish oil in taste and it was most unpleasant. Is this just me, or did I get a bad bottle, or should I try another brand?

Have a great day on the Beach everyone from "Merrie Olde England" !

It's a loverly sultry morn here down south!
Caught up on yesterday posts... Thankyou all for such a warm welcome back!
Mamacita and Sil... I'm gonna have to look up thoses Fischer and Paykels you are raving about.. Perhaps when I get my other appliances when we move into our "real" house. This one is a temporary for a year or 2 til we find a place we would like to settle and buy or build. MAMA u go right ahead and take a step off the beach and hang on to that organ of yours!.. but as Sil said u must post!!
H-KO: OOOH thankyou for posting the words to "Carolina", I never heard them, and they are all so very pretty!
Sil~ Your new car sounds 2 DIE 4... ah and that new car smell! Each day will get better for you and Shelby.. :grouphug: We grieved for weeks when we lost our Muffin. And only because she was such a wonderful dog, did we get 2 more Cairn Terriers.. and they are bringing us such an abundance of joy.
Pearsydew, my moldy girl! :drill: BACK TO THE BEACH !!! Think of that fast food covered with your beloved mold.
LC: Enjoy your family reunion..I hope it's a sun shiny day for you
Ruth: I was in tears just thinkin of you showing up in your bathrobe, ratty fluffy slippers, and a cigar at the meeting. I hope all went well yesterday
Barb1037: The new Dryer went KABLOOEY (donch' know ;) ).. It was the last one of a discontinued model.. BUT Best Buys managed to track another one down..and arranged for a swap on Tuesday.. Til then I am doing laundry and hanging it over the deck fencing... and I bet it's drying quicker then the dryer in this heat!
Barb: hope you had a lovely visit with your friend.. I think they should make you an honorary Eagle scout by the time you are done with Brian and his scouting!
Val: A Pool League How FUN! I use to shoot good stick myself.. DH was in a dart league and I played pool with the guys! So glad you had an "epithany" about staying OP. It is so much easier on us mentally.. and each time we stay on plan when temptation rears it's ugly head, our confidence gets such a boost! I can drink gallons of tomato juice..my fav, but the sodium in it will definitely cause you water retention. I use to fly alot for work and order tomato juice as my beverage, and I wouldn't be able to get my shoes back on and had elephant ankles when we landed..
Ellis: It's just a phase luv, sometimes I get spells of insomnia and have to rely on those little blue pills to get me through... or it could be a side effect of other meds? So glad u had a nice visit with Mom.

Me: Well the movers brought the crap down without a hitch. All arrived safe and sound. But it's pretty hysterical! Our furniture was to scale in our 2200 f house... um it's a bit "close" in our 1400 ft rental. I feel like that lady in the Geico commercial living in the tiny house ..Ah well, we will go with the "Minimalist" look for now.. Thankfully we have lots of storage space. Today, we will continue with opening boxes - and hopefully have this nest looking ship shape by Monday, and then I will begin to organize, and clean etc. "Sister Mary Sunshine" (yeah, that's what some folks call me) did have a mini break down yesterday.. I guess not sleeping well, and the feeling of being overwhelmed with more boxes to deal with finally got to me.. and the new dryer going Kaput, put me over the edge, and I had a little stress-cry. Thankfully my DH is my rock! He said "Char, we have time now to deal with this, and it's just "crap" that we have to unpack and move" -no big deal" So off he went to begin putting together the office, as I lay on the couch having a little pity party.. then he brought me a Dark Chocolate Kiss, and gave me a hug. Just what I needed to pick myself up and start again! So minor, especially when I read about Sheba and Weezle (Hugs and good vibes girls!) ........................ANYWAY, I'm Caffeinated and OFF TO Deal with the Boxes!
Have a GREAT DAY LADIES Posters and Lurkers alike!!!!

Artemis! Good Afternoon Luv! Oh boy do I feel your pain :dizzy: I may be looking to you for solace and advice if we decide to build.. I'm sure dealing with the contractors and time tables and what not is going to be a hair puller!
Enjoy your weekend, and Today is a new day to eat healthy!

Hiya Schatzi - good luck with your unpacking. Its such a double edged sword moving to a brand new area as you have done. Exciting and scary and yet you still have those boxes to unpack!

Just think about getting out on the water in your kayak (sp??) soon! I was watching a TV programme last night about a guy who was in Baja California, sea kayaking and whale watching. It was awesome stuff and being in the boat seems so tranquil and relaxing somehow. I may have to give it a try one day.

Contractors? Yeppers, utterly awful - and to make it worse - most of the contractors we used - they are empolyed by my DH!! Even a building contractor like my hubby, can screw up the project management in his own house.

Good luck and have a great weekend!

I've been lurking this morning. I think I need a boot in the butt! Another coffee may fix that and then I'll DO something to get myself out of this semi-funk. Back later.

I'm awake! (again) :D

Heather, I hope it didn't take you long to get back to sleep.

Marianna, so glad your foot is getting better! Yes, it's bizarre how addictive exercise can become.

Mamacita, you're doing some detox thing that I don't know about... I'll go and check "back in time". I'm missing a lot of action lately. I hope it goes well.
Okay, I just found the post. Good LUCK, girl! I hope the detox "cures what ails you". :grouphug:

Artemis, we're having similar weather here... it's lovely! There were a lot of complaints on the street about the weather (it's our main topic of conversation over here in Canada. heh heh), but I LOVE it like this!! 19C right now, and we all slept with the windows open while cozied up under the blankets. :)
Good luck with the kitchen renovation. We started ours last October, and vowed it would be finished by Christmas. :lol3: It was mostly finished by February, and there are still a couple of little things that want doing.

Schatzi, I'm so glad you're back, sweetie!!
I'm so sorry about your breakdown, hon. :( What a darling man you've got... he sounds like a real keeper. Sending you love and hugs today for a better, less stressful day... :grouphug:

Beach Bum, I'm so sorry about your experience with the man in the store yesterday. Isn't it awful how such a small thing can ruin our entire day? :( I can relate completely... put it behind you, hon. You're too special to waste your time dwelling on crap like him. :grouphug:

Sil, thinking about you, sweetie. :grouphug: Do you think you'll get another sister/brother for little Shelby?
That's wonderful news about your Dad! :hat: What a relief for you.

Ruth, you'll feel better after a coffee, darling. :coffee:
Sending you hugs... :grouphug:

And extra hugs for Weezle and Sheba... :grouphug:

Today is mine, and that's good, because tomorrow I've committed to breakfast with a friend to talk about his suicidal mother, and then beer and snacks in the afternoon with another friend to talk about his boyfriend who is dying of cancer. Thank God my meds are working. :^:

Going to get more coffee...

I'm just running by (okay sitting here) to say I'm still here. I wandered off the beach but managed to hold on to my weight loss. As a way of eating I think it becomes reflex. I'll write more if I can get dd off my computer.

Mornin' Chicks :D!!!

Ellis: Sorry to hear about your sleeping problems. This whole week I haven't been sleeping well at all. Finally last night I took a sleeping pill and I feel much better this morning. Sleep is sooo important...plus it keeps us pretty and young looking ;)!

H-ko: I agree that it's not always caffeine. This has been my quit coffee cold turkey week and I can't remember ever not sleeping for so long. Hope you get your grove back, hon.

Marrianna: When, oh when, will I ever have your attitude about exercise! I can't seem to make myself do it. But I do have my workout clothes on and plan to drink some tea, chill on 3FC for a while then walk the dog b4 it gets too miserable outside. Thanks for the motivation.

Mamacita: I take 2 tablespoons of flaxseed everyday either in a smoothie or one of the ricotta desserts. It's so good for your heart and to ward off breastcancer, which runs in my family. Let us know how your detox goes...I may want to try it.

Artemis: One day I would love to have a big nice kitchen, unfortunately here in my apartment I have to make due. Next year when I back to So. CA I will be in a very large house with a small kitchen...may have to think about remodeling :)!

Schatzi: Bubbly and cheerful as always!! Sorry to hear about your little meltdown...we all have them and we all deserve them every now and then. You gotta love a man who knows just how to handle those. Your guy sounds fabulous. Glad to hear you finally got everything moved and are about to be settled. I hate the feeling of an unruly and unsettled house so I know how you must be feeling. Hang in there girlie!!

Ruth: Drink a coffee for me, please!! Oh how I miss that wonderful stuff..but I think cutting it out is really helping with my weightloss so I will remain strong :).

Anyone I missed: Have a great day and I'll catch ya later.

This weekend will be a working one for me, unfortunately. Got to get some samples processed so I can get to the woods tomorrow. Can't wait to be with my fungus and CO2  . I'm goona get my big butt geared up and go for a walk b4 I head into the lab today. Have a great OP day, ladies, just think how proud we will be of ourselves Monday after making it through this weekend and staying faithful to the beach! Ciao for now!

I'm taking a box-break, and was catching up on my pudgey pals.. Ken (DH) just came in from mowing the backyard (which needs a lot of TLC..sigh, I wish BFIT1~ Sil, was here to make my yard :flow1: as loverly as hers) Anyway, he came in covered - and I mean head to toe, in grime , sweat and a big grin :D . I looked like :yikes: I don't ever think I've seen him that dirty! I shouted over to paraphrasing some of your kind comments: " hey honey, the Fat chicks think you're darling and fabulous!" He said " That's my middle name, Darlin n Fabulous!" and threw me his killer smile "
Artemis: That is tooo funnie bout DH! you know what they say: The shoemakers daughter goes without shoes..! And Ellis, hmm, I recall, you have a RED kitchen..how fabulouso! Do you have red appliances too? And I am soooo sorry to hear what you have instore for tomorrow. :( and am glad your meds are working well for you. And thankyou for my dancing  marshmellow man, I just love that emoticon!
Hi Mamadragon:Good 4 U that you maintained even while off the beach visiting somewhere else!
Pearsy:Ah a girl after my own heart, I really feel outta sorts when my home is in disarray! Strange how external things like the state of my home and a bad scale reading effect my moods! And Good GAWD woman! Ya either got yer head in mold or a microscope lookin at ! What Passion you have! It's wonderful to hear about folks who absolutely adore what they do as you do..

Alrighty Then, back to work for me!

Just popping in to say Hi Ya'll!! It may take me awile to get more time on the computer to post more on the daily thread -- there is always at least one kid on my lap during computer time and one either calling for me or crying in the background. Yikes! I am lucky on the weekend though 'cause DH helps out with the kidlings. I have really enjoyed this week on the beach :beach: with you all and I am looking forward to getting to know you all :D.

This weekend it is time to finish cleaning my room up so that we can assemble baby Logans crib. He has learned to roll over this week so I think that the pack-n-play will just not do anymore. I guess the rest of the house needs some attention too but like a comic on tv said last night-- I have cluttervision and the mess just doesn't bother me most of the time :yikes:.

:cheer: I hope that everyone has a fantastic weekend :dancer:

Ellis Hope you had some good zzzzzzzzzzzz's this morning. We're hoping for rain also at my neck of the woods. Thanks : Thanks:, I know I shouldn't let little crap worry me but today again this time a young girl gave me a hard time. I think I must have a face that keeps on saying "slap me." :high:

MamacitaGood Luck:lucky: on detoxing.

Schatzi Sorry:sorry: about the break down, you are going to a very busy gal this weekend.I was there 8 yrs ago,and this time I'm NOT moving.Try to take a break, with a nice tall glass of icy cold lemonade s/f of course.

Pearshape Have a wonderful weekend testing :tired: mold. Hope you'll get your walking in.If not try to March in Place while working.

Sweet Tea I know how you must be feeling with the two young ones around. Its not easy:nono: work, believe me but its the MOST IMPORTANT job anywhere, rising young ones. My DD has 4 little ones  all under 4(set of twin) and tow others. She never has time to call us or any time for herself.

Have a wonderful day, see you guys tomorrow. Hugs :) BB

Hello all!

Well, DH and DS let me sleep until nearly 10 am (finally got to sleep around 1:30 or so) - so I guess I met my "goal" of sleeping 8 hours in a row!

DS injured himself last night - he fell off of my toolbox (which he uses like a bench - we are perpetually remodelling, so it "lives" in a corner of the living room) and onto some Duplos. He got a nasty cut on his nose RIGHT next to his eye! He was screaming, DH was trying to hold him still, and I was trying to stop the bleeding and get some Neosporin and a Bandaid on it. What an ordeal! It's the first time he's really hurt himself beyond bumps and bruises, so it was a little shocking to him. It's not really a stichable wound, either, although it's at least a little one. I'm worried it might scar though. Poor li'l fella!

Marianna - Glad you were up to your walk!

Mamacita - Good luck at the luncheon! Maybe try telling them you are vegetarian? It always surprises me when functions don't have that option. Maybe it's just because there are so many vegetarians/vegans in the Seattle area. I don't know how strict you have to be about the beverages - could you spritz a little onto your tongue now and then for the taste?

Artemis - It's nice to meet you, too! Are you a native of England, or a transplant? My best friend in high school was a Brit, and she moved back after graduation (our schools go on 2 years longer than British secondary schools). She from the IOW. I miss her terribly, as I haven't seen her since graduation. I know what you mean about the kitchen. We started to remodel ours last summer, and we were supposed to finish this summer except DH lost his job at the end of February. He finally just found a new job, but they pay is drastically reduced, so no remodeling for a while! I hate having the kitchen half done!

Schatzi - You're welcome :) ! Moving is extremely stressful, isn't it? I HATE moving! Lucky for me, DH moved a lot as a kid, so he's very good at it! I'm almost superfluous, which is just fine by me! Hope things settle down soon!

Ruthxxx - Why the semi-funk? Is anything the matter?

Ellis - Whooo - heavy day tomorrow! Get a lot of relaxation in today! Enjoy!

mamadragon - love your sig! That's me to a "T"! I doubt I'd've ever bothered with SBD if I didn't want so much to be healthy for and set a good example for DS!

pearshape - Actually, I'm a habitual insomniac so sleeping isn't normal for me! But I'm pretty used to it; I really don't need much sleep most of the time. I'm sorry you're working; still, any job where you have to tramp around woods can't be all bad! It beats sitting in a stuffy, overheated, city office all day long!

Schatzi (again) - sounds like your DH is one in a million!

Sweet Tea - good luck with the cleaning and crib! DS slept with us for just over a year, so it took him a while to adjust to being alone. He still likes to come into bed with us in the morning, if we let him! If we have another, I wouldn't choose to do the sleep thing that way again; we just started having him sleep with us because I had a c-section, and our bed was too high for me to get in and out of easily while the wound healed. By the time I could get in and out easily, it had become a habit. It was terribly convenient for nursing, I have to say!

beachbum - you sound busy! Have a great day!

Bye for now - have a great day!

Well Chicks, its nearly time to say goodnight.

Heather, yes I'm a native Brit - and sometimes that makes a few challenges here on the boards. I feel like we talk very different versions of the English language. For example, Ruth said "semi-funk". I wasnt sure if that was something good or bad, so I filed it away to find out later. From your question to her, I guess its something not too good.

You'll soon find out that I also have a problem with some of your cooking ingredients - but I usually ask for a description and figure it out sooner or later!

Schatzi - you do make me laugh. But that is so true about the shoemakers daughter going without shoes!

Beach bum - my DH still messes up and we have to call in someone else !

Ok to all you other chicks, have a lovely evening and a great Saturday night.
I'm just off to read a few more threads and then its bed time.

Good Sunday morning, Chicks~~ :coffee:

I slept in. For a good reason. At midnight I awakened to the dogs barking up a storm and my "mommy radar" went off. I got out of bed, looked out the window and the fire truck and paramedics were parked at the bottom of our driveway :fr: I also noticed that our dd's car was there (she'd gone to a wedding reception and wasn't supposed to be back til late). Our "cue" that she's home is that Sunni is in our bedroom. Sunni was NOT in our bedroom.

I put on my robe, peeked in her room and called her name. No answer. Uh-oh. I grabbed my cell phone, went downstairs and looked in her car. No DD. I dialed her #. No answer. By this time, my mouth is so dry I can hardly talk. The EMT's are so busy across the street they don't have time to talk to me. I call DD again and this time she answers. She'd been asleep the whole time in her room! Scare me to death!

But I survived my first day of detox. :)

Today is chores for me. Hope you all have a great day on the Beach!

Mornin' Chicks! I think I'm finally freeing myself from the grip of coffee withdrawal. I feel somewhat like myself this morning and I haven't even had a sip of my green tea yet. I made a southwest egg scramble with blackbeans, peppers, onions, and tofu for b'fast. Had a few bites and am not too crazy about my most recent concoction. Maybe it'll be better tomorrow. Well, have a great day, ladies!!

GADZOOKS! It's gonna be a :flame: SCORCHER :flame: again today! The heat index will be 105-110 the afternoon! :fr:
H-KO: Hope DS boo-boo is better... He's young, I'm sure any scarring will fade and disappear over time. :crossed:

Mamacita: OH MY WHAT A SCARE! :yikes: You musta aged 10 years! So glad that DD was home snug as a bug in a rug..

BB: Ah Sunday Brunches.. I just love to go out for breakfast.. Enjoy your visit with friends.

Artemis: Oh you make me laugh too! A Funk is like bring in a melancholy mood or rut.. Funky means a few things..like Funky Feet, are a bit smelly or nasty.. Pretty Funky is like a little unusual in a cool kinda way.
I am intrigued by all things English! A bit of an Anglophile I guess.. and my interest really peaked with watching BBC America.. Love just about all BBC programming..must say watching your parliment in action is quite a kick..our "congressional/senate" hearings are quite a snore fest in comparison  One day I hope to visit your lovely country.
hmmm: Why are there no bedroom closets in the homes there? Seems you all get "wardrobes" to house your clothes??

Me: I think the butterflies are blind here... No less than 3 times yesterday I had one DOINK me in the head! I'm taking today off, really did alot yesterday and very sore.. Today I'll lounge about and read.. I just finished reading Dark Tower IV: Wizards and Glass, and started the Harry Potter book this morning..

Later Taters! Have a great day!

Geez, Schatzi, maybe you have a concussion! That would explain her - sort of!

Gorgeous day here today. I've done the Church thing, the dog thing and the change the clothes thing and am going to tackle a bit of my front perennial bed. I need to break gardening tasks into small bits because my knee really *****es if I overdo it!

Some reading and iced tea on the front porch will be the plan for later this afternoon - unless a nap intervenes. (I had dinner with Bob and Ron last night and didn't get to bed until after one.)

Happy Sunday, Chickies

Good afternoon, girls!

Just got back from breakfast with my friend. I did NOT eat the **** *****, I'm happy to say. :D
AND I'm very proud to say that I walked there and back, so I got a good hour walk in. :hat: That's the best I've done in a long time. (thought my legs were going to seize up at one point. Fortunately there wasn't a cab in sight)

Pearshape, that breakfast sounds MOST unappetizing! Please do not bother sharing the recipe with us. :lol3:

Mamacita, I know EXACTLY how you felt when you were looking for your daughter. shudder. That's so frightening, hon.

Heather, thank God your DS didn't damage his eye! Poor love... that's such a horrible experience for a little one. :(
Nursing... I had two c-sections, and we did the same with our babies. Unfortunately our DS got a little TOO used to it, and up until the age of five, would wake in the night and climb into bed with us. (needless to say, I wasn't still breastfeeding him at that age) Lordy, I didn't sleep well for YEARS!

Schatzi, always thought that was a fetus. But if you want it to be the StayPuff man, that's okay, too.
We have stainless steel appliances to go with the red kitchen. :) They're a real bugger to keep clean. I don't know WHY children and husbands feel obliged to place their handprints all over them!
The butterflies think you're sweet. That's why they're attracted to you, darling.

My friend and his boyfriend are arriving soon... I suppose I should do a quick tidy in here and light some incense. It's a wee bit stuffy...
