Default What supplements do you use?

Does anyone use supplements in place of the LAWL supplements they tell you to take? What about that carb blocker, isn't that the one you take to eat pizza etc. and count as a protein? Is that one for real??

Thanks!
Oriana

Hi Oriana -- I don't use any of the LAWL supplements -- I buy my own efa, multi, etc. . .

You don't need the carb blocker to have a cc meal -- they are trying to get you to buy their products -- the point about the cc meals is that they are about the same in calories as a protein serving. I think what the carb blockers do is bind the carbs in your intestine, and then they "flush" away --

If your counselor really pushes them, try to get her to say what do they do -- one told me that they turned the carbs to protein! I mean, really!

How are things going, otherwise?

I don't use any of the supplements either (except calcium-I like it because it's a chewable tablet). I've tried the EFA because I got it free, but haven't purchased anything else.

Carb blockers don't work-check the literature. The data is underwhelming. A good idea in theory, but doesn't do what they say they will.

They count carb craver meals on the program as 1 protein because if you use the carb blocker (and if you do the cc, you're supposed to)-none of the carbs are absorbed. Again-in theory.

I wouldn't recommend doing cc meals at all. You will just be slowing down your weight loss. I mean, c'mon-5 PIECES OF FRENCH TOAST! Disaster waiting to happen. You can eat sandwiches on plan. You may use most of your starches for the day . . . .

If it sounds too good to be true-it is!

My 2 cents . . .

Thanks for the advice everyone! Things are going ok on my own. I've had a little problem with cereal cravings lately, but I'm hanging in there!
