Default Crunches Not So Bad?

I don't know why I never thought of this before, and most of you probably have and just think I'm an idiot for not thinking of it before, but let me run this one past you.

So, everyone has at least a couple of TV shows they like to watch, right? I'm a Dr. Phil and Oprah freak (I'm in counseling for it) and unfortunately in a couple of weeks school will be in and I'll have to miss them and only watch evening TV.

To make a long story longer, today I was watching Dr. Phil (It was about a girl's struggle with OCD...very good) and noticed that there are a TON of commercial breaks. I laid down on the floor during one commercial break and did as MANY CRUNCHES as my body would let me do.

25.

So I decided that I would do that every commercial break. And I have been! I almost feel guilty sitting at the computer instead of being in the living room watching TV, waiting for the commercial breaks, and doing more crunches.

I did 200 just during Dr. Phil! (It's an hour long, so you get more in.) And then I continued through Oprah.

Maybe crunches aren't your exercise, and pushups are. Or jumping jacks. Or lunges. Or whatever. I don't know if it'll help anyone else, but I kind of dig doing crunches now.

That is all!

there are similar little tidbits you can do all the time.

when you're driving and you come to a red light, squeeze your buttocks until the light turns green.

at your desk, when you start to print a document, squeeze your bum and push your centre inwards (as done in pilates) until your print job is done. This is really great for me when I print off the usually 150 page reports I create.

while cleaning the house, wear ankle weights.... you're legs will become much stronger, quick.

those are some of my added suggestions.

Great idea. I wonder what my family will think when I hop down to the floor and start crunching during every commercial. LOL

Hey! I do the same thing! I'm on the treadmill for all of Dr. Phil and the first 20 minutes or so of Oprah...I can't make all of Oprah cuz I'm dying 20 minutes into it. Then I do push ups, crunches and stretch out for the rest of Oprah.

Yes, I love Dr. Phil!!!!

I don't watch TV at all, ever, so I don't have commercials to "crunch" during. But I've been trying to not always get the closest parking spot to the entrance that I can (unless it's raining, or my back is acting up) and adding a little extra walking when I run errands. It's not a lot, but every little bit helps.
