I have been reading the SBD book and cannot remember what the doc said about the sugar substitute ols. I walked down to the drug store at lunch to buy SF candy. Before I pour the bag down my throat, I was trying to find in my book what the warnings are. My noisy neighbors are back too and I cannot seem to steal a moment to look it up.
Can someone tell me the rules on the ols please?

If you read the fine print on your package you'll see the little blurb, "may cause laxative like affects." They are not exagerating. It's like someone clamped one end of the intestines and let loose the other, along with a little adominal discomfort if you go over board on the sugar alcohols.

I don't have my book handy for the official word, just wanted you to know what the other problem could be...especially if you eat the whole bag and then get stuck in traffic going home...oh, yuck :dizzy:

What kind of candy did you get? Remember the SF candy is not supposed to exceed over 75 calories a day.

Also, I've noticed some lifesaver products have the SBD seal on them. I have wintergreen, butter toffee and five flavors at my desk. It really helps. And, on my second week of phase 1 I don't feel like I need them AS bad.

Good luck!

Sugar alcohols (The OL FAmily) do cause "intestinal distress" so best avoid them. If you do eat them, remember they must count towards your 75 calorie allowance for sugarfree snacks.

Thank you all so very much for a quick response and tips. I bought creme savers since there was not a very big selection and I wanted to avoid chocolate.
I will try the lifesavers and keep to my 75 for now.
I cannot wait to get past detox. I'm glad to know that this feeling will subside.
Thanks again.
