Howdy Everyone!

I had a good weekend, I spent Saturday hanging out with FH all day and went for a long run yesterday... I splurged Saturday night, but I do that with Flex points. Anyway on Saturday Morning I was down 1/2 a pound which was expected.... I lost 6 the week before so I tend not to have two big losses in a row.

Anyway, I am thinking of doing another BA... I miss learning like crazy, I am debating between journalism, religion or political science.

So how is everyone doing this week? Any challenges, any fun events?

Hey Ali
We went Camping this weekend. It was my first time and alot of fun! One of My Best friends moved back to NJ so we're doing dinner tonight. I'm down another pound which puts me at 196. 2 lbs left to go on my august goal. So I'm excited but still taking it one step at a time Baby steps!
I know what you mean about missing learning I'd love to go back to school. I'm totally Biased but JOURNALISM! its alot of fun ;)
ok Back to the grind!

Hello everyone,

It's good to hear that some of us are losing ;) I went to WI yesterday, after only my third week, and lost/gained....0.... :(
I am wondering if anyone else is having problems fighting temptation during the weekends. When I am at work, it's not a problem, but on the weekends, especially when we have guests over and BBQ, it's tough :o

Hope everyone enjoys their day,

Hi Sofi
Its totally natural to have a stall Give it a week and carefully Journal and drink your water.
Weekend wise it is hard to be OP when you're with people who aren't dieting. maybe if the BBQ is at your house you can control what kinds of stuff gets grilled
also you can always bring a healthy dish

08-08-2005, 02:53 PM
Hello! Wow, everyone's been camping and BBQing - sounds like fun! I, on the other hand, have been boxing and unboxing and packing and tidying. Can't believe we only have 2 weeks until we move - scary!

Ali, I second Kier on the learning ... how exciting to go back to it! I finally finished my 3rd degree a couple of years ago after 10 years of uni, and I *still* have a whole bunch of things I would like to go back and study - music, art history and Arabic are top of the list right now. Would you study full time or around your job?

Hey, Sofi, you're not alone - we must have started WW around the same time (today was my 5th WI) and the 3rd week, I gained back 2 of the 4 I'd lost the 2nd week. It was down to a weekend with my parents, which is just temptation city :( One thing I have found helps is to decide whether I want an indulgent pudding or to drink booze - and I try to only do one of those things. The booze is the worst, actually - after a glass or two of wine I find my willpower goes. Maybe something like that would help? Let us know how it goes ... ohhhhhhhh and I miss BBQ (no garden).

bye for now,

08-08-2005, 05:05 PM

I'm new in teh froum and it's my second week with WW. I don't know if the German flexoints are the same as your english, but I think we'll find out after a time.

I did WW a time ago for 6 weeks but stopped it becauso of lack of stamina and motivation. Now I try to motivate me in this community (and by the way train my english, so please correct me if it's too bad: I'm here to learn AND to loose weight!).

So now that you know about my English: What is OP and WI? I don't think that I would find it in the dictionary....

After the BBC yesterday (I think there must have been a BBC all over the world at this weekend) I am confident. Yesterday I had 25 Points instead of 19 but today I ate vegetables an fruits and it works ok. I think I can save 2 this day and the remainig 4 during this week.

It was teh first time after eating so much more than 19 points that I really counted it and did not say "Ok, that was it. I think I start again..... Next week! First I eat this and that and..."

So I think I can manage it.

Greetings from good old Germany

Morning Ladies
DH is on Day 2 of his Migraine I loaded him up on healthy food this am so hopefully he'll be better by tonight.
Last night I went to Olive Garden (not my choice) with some friends. I had 2 bowls of their salad and no bread/pasta The salmon I ordered had MSG in it or some "flavor enhancer" b/c When I got home My heart was racing and I felt horrible
I did have dessert. No NOT chocolate Lasanga I had Berries and Sorbet. I knew I'd crack if I sat with a diet coke and everyone else was indulging. So today is DETOX
I have benefiber sitting on my desk lol
Did you ever notice when people know you're eating healthy and doing well they tell you what they're eating? its wierd

Welcome Mareike!! OP means On Plan or On Program meaning you stayed with the Weight Watchers Plan that day
WI means Weigh In sometimes a good day and sometimes not so much ;)
Feel Free to Practice your English we'd love to help you out!
How do you pronounce your name its so Pretty!

Morning Ladies,

It's going to be another scorcher this week... eek, I love running, but not in the severe heat... Oh well, I am pretty amazed at how I have stuck to it this summer...

Oh wanna here something that's high on the romantic metre? My FH left a post-it on my mirror this morning with "Ali, I <heart> U"... Awwww... It started my day off well...

I was freakin hungry yesterday and I ended the day with.... 23 points! Yah me:)

Tonight it's chinese food (it's bday 58 for my dad today) so I'll be drinking lots of water tomorrow.

Sofi - BBQs can be made WW friendly... I usually get a nice chicken kabob, or a veggie burger... Now one of our grocery stores carries kid sized burgers at 3 points each... You can also go bunless. You can also bring along a WW friendly salad or dessert (trust me, no one will know the difference) and bring lots of water too (or crystal lite or diet soft drinks). When you're not eating try to avoid the areas with food and enjoy the conversation etc or help clean up or something. You stayed the same and didn't gain, that's good... perhaps TOM was coming or your were bloated... happens to me sometimes!

Mareike: Welcome! Sure you can practice your english here! Enjoy and if you have any more questions on our acronyms, feel free to ask!

Lolly: I love learning too... I have one degree, and I did a diploma so now I want another BA and perhaps a MA afterwards... I am really leaning towards religion now.

Kierie: I had a migraine last week. I hope he feels better soon!

08-09-2005, 01:25 PM
Hey Chicks,

so nice to read from you. And so more nice I understand the most. But I had to read that my BBQ is now BBC. I think my Q is a C in your Community.... Well, ok. I hope you don't mind.

@ KO: The pronounciation of my name is maybe like this (i don't know if i can describe this very good)
MA (like the "a" in garden)
REI (like the "ri" in right)
KE (like ... I don't know. A friend of mine from Detroit says - and he heard it from me as I told him my name - it also like the garden "a")

My meal is ready to eat now so I think I should do that. My BF is hungry... :)

08-09-2005, 05:17 PM
Thank you everyone for your suggestions and advice, it is very much appreciated. ;) I will definitely have to do some healthy grocery shopping before our next BBQ.

Ali: You were right about the TOM thing, maybe that was why I didn't lose. :D

Mareike: Welcome, and good luck. :)

Hi all! Just popping in to let you know I am here, jsut MIA - having a baby is time-consuming. And I try to get to the gym. If I have time to read the posts I am luckky, but writing with one hand is tough.

Eve is doing awesome though, over 9lbs now (7 weeks old). I am going to the church to get her baptised on August 20th.

I try to get to the gym and go for lots of walks, and am down 4.4lbs so far - WI is tomorrow, I think I am down a bit more this week. I"ll try to write proper when its not cluster feeding time! Hope you're all well...

08-10-2005, 05:23 AM
Good morning!

I wake up and was not hungry the first time this week! WOW!!! :bravo:

After I ate too much on sunday (not from the BBQ, but chocolate cake and plum tart) I stayed OP and could even save the half of the flexpoints I needed on sunday. I'm so proud of me!

Yesterday was my boyfriends birthday and he wanted to eat cutlet with cream sauce and lots of white bread. I cooked it for him and ate myself filled aubergines with tomatoes, paprika, field garlic, zucchini and noodles (wow, I had to check every word in the dictionary. Now I know that I had known not one vegetable by name!!!).

It had so few points that I could have a Knoppers (I think you don't know that, it's a kind of chocolate and wafer thing) as dessert on top.

Today I think I'll eat greek noodles and vegetables.

I was on my scale this morning because I couldn't stand and wait till friday, but nothing changed. I think I have to do more sports but I can't bring m *** on my stairmaster.... :(

Wish you a slim day.

08-11-2005, 08:57 AM
Ok Ladies, I'm still OP.

Yesterday I managed to save the points I overate on Sunday.

This evening I'm going to cheerleading-training. Then I have to move my ***!!!

Nice day

I am still living with post-chinese food (on Tuesday, was my dad's bday, we also had cake)and hill repeat workout water retention. I am drinking loads of water to hopefully flush the excess water, but my body does need some to repair muscle and stuff... hopefully as long as I stay OP my weight will be around where it was last week.

Mareike: What worked for me in regards to exercise was training for an event, now I am a runner and I am very committed to my running workouts... now if I could only get that inspiration for my weight training...

Kierie: Congrats on making your August goal...

Belle: Thanks for stopping by, I hope you're managing to get some sleep. I have finally finished Harry Potter.

Sofi: I retain water so easily... I can gain a few lbs in a few hours of water sometimes (though that goes away!)

Wow, lots of losing going on here!!! You should all be proud and if you're plateauing or struggling take heart, we've ALL been there before!

Hey girls. Sounds like everyone's week is going well. I have been v. busy. It is my last week doing social work before I get back to teaching. I cannot wait. I work a 1/2 day tomorrow and then I have Monday and Tuesday off and teachers go back Wed.

Eating wise I am doing well. I have been eating a ton of fruits and less white foods. I just haven't had time to exercise much this week so the scale is not budging but I plan to get a lot in starting sat. This wk I have been going straight from work to Church b/c we have V.B.S. and DH and I are in charge of games. It's been fun but busy. I may try and get to my sisters fitball class on Friday b/c I loved it last week.

Mareike~ Glad you joined us. I have just recently come back to the boards also. you will love it.

Ali~ 6lb loss last week that is amazing. You're kicking butt girl. I too need to get going on the wt. training. How many days a wk would you like to do that? I am aiming for 2 to start and 3 eventually.

Sofi~ Keep it up and don't be discouraged. I agree with everyone we all have stalls.

Kieri~ Glad camping went well. I have never done that either but it sounds fun.

Belle~ I am glad you got a second to post and that you and your baby are doing well. Enjoy the christening.

Well I need to get back to the grind. I will hopefully check in again soon. I am weighing in on Tuesday and I really hope that I am down some. BBIAB

Hey Ladies
I'm retaining like a fool. to be Totally TMI Benefiber and coffee are helping that out. So I'm thinking the 3 lbs that krept up this week will at least partially go away.
Mareiki Cheerleading sounds fun. Do you do it for exercise or for a specific team?
Becks: what is VBS? and Fitball sounds good :)
I will bbiab I have work to do!

08-11-2005, 03:49 PM
Hello everyone, and welcome Mareike! Belle, good to hear from you - sounds like motherhood is agreeing with you! I am very sleepy right now because it's been a long day at work, and I've had all 3 meals but still have 11.5pts left, which is TOTALLY unheard of :?: Still not sure how I managed that. Anyway, this is just a quickie - but keep your fingers crossed for sun here tomorrow, because if it doesn't rain DH has promised to take me to the beach! Yay!

Grace, Grace
08-12-2005, 09:20 AM
Lolly~ the beach sounds nice and my fingers are crossed :)

Kieri~ VBS is an outreach activity at my church. We invite kids from surrounding Detroit area neighborhoods and feed them dinner, play games, have skits, puppets etc. It is a blast!

It's my last day here!!! I hope that I get everything accomplished and get out of here asap. I need to get home and do some scrubbing. I never quite got a chance to "spring clean" so now that fall is on the horizon I though I should get at it. I am also going to squeeze in the fitball class before VBS tonight. Well ladies I guess I need to get to filing, paperwork, etc. bbl

08-12-2005, 09:42 AM

Kieri~ You kicked your August goals BUTT! :strong: That last pound will be a breeze the way you've been workin' it!! :) Congrats. I was actually noticing your stats this a.m. You are sliding right through the 190's!! Ladies night is always dangerous and usually involves LOTS of chocolate so I am v. impressed with your devotion! I'll join your conga :jig: What's the formal wear for???

I got all of my filing done and I think I will be wrapping things up early here at work!!! I cannot wait. 2-3 more hours!

08-12-2005, 11:54 AM
Hello ladies! I have been MIA for awhile. We went on vacation for 10 days and I didn't want to face the WW facts. But, my sister is truly an inspiration to me. She's lost 33 pounds without and support, i.e., buddies, chats, etc. She said she would be my buddy so I'm back on track.
I finished Harry Potter while on vacation and wanted to lock myself in the bathroom and cry. My sis told me that was pretty silly, and I agree. Maybe I was pms-ing or something.
My OBGYN is thinking about putting me on blood pressure medicine. I'm not too sure about that. I had high blood pressure before I went on WW the first time and it came down along with the weight. I think it's just a matter of getting down to business.
I have been excercising...amazing, I know, but I found a Denise Austin tape that I really like. It's low-impact and high cardio aerobics. Two workouts on one tape. She's really positive in her comments.
Well, ds just came in and wants some juice (doos) so I'd better get him some. I'll drink some water at the same time!
Welcome everyone! Sorry I've been gone for awhile.
Have a wonderful day!

Am popping in before a feeding - Stacy - hey babe!! HOw are you? Yup, I cried too after HP.

I miss you all and will write a lot more when this little Monster sleeps. Must go run errands this morning though, if I can get her off the boob- it's cluster feeding time.

Also, am down 4.6 total, but can't change my sig with her around!! Will later.

Love Belle

I did not understood one word! :(

I take 2 pounds of everyone who could tell me what b/c, TTFN, MIA, OBGYN and DH is.

@ Grace: I did fitball a long time ago. It was fun but hard work. I was also in a class. But I like it more doing sports at home so now I'm a Fitness-DVD-Fan!

@ KO: I do cheerleading for no special sport team. We do that for fun and have performances on birthday-partys, and smaller festivals. I can tell you the www-adress from our homepage, if you are interested to see some pictures. But it's all in german-language... I have to write an instruction for use then...
Congratulations for being strong at ladies night!!! I cheer for you (to the Rocky theme song of course): :cheer: (and then another time to Tina Turners "your simply the best") :cheer:

@ Stacey: Nice to hear that you are back on the right way and exercising on top of it! :bravo:
If you have enough from your tape I can recommend the Cindy Crawfords Workout Tapes and DVDs. I have them all and they are great! I just have to use them now continuous... :o

Cheer-training yesterday was great. I jumped and danced for more than one our without a break. That was about 6 extra-points I save for my boyfriends birthdayparty tomorrow.

I am OP (I have to use this expression about 2873468246823 times this week to save it in my memory, because I learned it as new vocabulary ;) ). After the cheer-training yesterday I had a little jamsession with a friend of mine who is so nice to show me playing my guitar better. Was so great. We played about two ours and had a lot of fun.

Went out in the pub around my corner after that and drank: WATER!!! :yikes: No beer. No red wine! No cider! :yikes: WATER!!!

In a few minutes I'm going to cook chicken-breast-steak with mashed potatoes and veggies.

08-12-2005, 06:00 PM
Marieke Let me be your Internet slang Dictionary!
My words tend to end up however my fingers tap them out
TTFN is short for Tata for Now if you've seen Winnie the Pooh Tigger says it ALOT
MIA is short for Missing in Action: In the internet sense it means Away for a while
OBGYN is an actual Term for Obstetrician Gynocologyst aka A doctor for Ladies (please don't trust my spelling on that one)
DH is short for Dear Husband.
You went to the pub and drank water I'm Impressed!!! your workout sounds so fun! and what type of stuff do you play on guitar?
If you post the website I can use a web translator ;) I love Technology!
Becky (who if I remember from waaaaaaaaaay back in antiquity is my Birthday twin) The formal wear is for a friends uber black tie wedding which oddly enough is on a Tuesday Did you get to leave work early?
Stacey OMG I cried so hard I'm reading it a second time! Maybe the Doc can offer you a different way of lowering Blood Pressure? non medicine I don't like having too many Meds
BELLE How are you? I'm sure ppl always ask about the baby first So I ASK ABOUT THE MAMA! ;) hows our Gorgeous Cyber Neice? It sounds like your super busy! I'm glad you keep popping in!
We didn't get to shop today because we were stuck in PGA Traffic (Marieke it's a big Golfing tournament thing here) ugh! so we went to Panera and had lunch
I had the Bistek Salad and didn't feel anything for the huge chunk of bread on my plate.
I'm off to exercise while watching Angel and Charmed
I'll be workign from home tonight So I'll be Back!

08-12-2005, 07:21 PM
Kieri I love you for being my dictionary! :thanks:

I try to use all the words I've learnd new now. To burn them in my memory:

My meal was fine and I'm still OP. My DH sits in the corner of our couch and has one hand on top of it big belly (it is not big every 24 hours a day, just after such a tatsy meal I did cook for him) with a grin on his face and watches TV. I think if he had a plan (what he - at least for eating - definitively not has) he would be certainly not OP!!! He looks like he did ate the 7 goats and red riding hood and the grandmother and cinderella (TTFN all those fairy tale peole).

Maybe I will call my OBGYN tomorrow. I think he can check my arm and have a look on my implanon.

So after using all these new and very special vocabulary I hink I will be MIA

Wish you nice dreams

:m: areike

New to the board, but not to the site. Anyhow, I was wondering if I could join your group. I'm having a heck of a time anymore. I am doing WW at home and I just don't have any support and can't find a way to attend any meetings and such.

I need some encouragement and someone to nudge me over this sabotaging behavior of mine.

Chris: you are most certainly welcome to join us. We have a new thread going for this week.
