Hi all! I was reading through your thread and wondered if maybe I could join in? My name is Becca and I am 24 years old. I've been on a diet for as long as I can remember, and have just recently begun to figure out what's right for my body. Food is my downfall and I love it! I've got the exercise thing down, but have plateaued, so now I have to "change my habits" as Dr. Phil says... So Monday I started my new healthy eating plan  yick...but so far it's been ok. Moving across the country from the South to the North has been quite a shock, but I'm gonna kick these pounds. Just looking at it as an attempt to start over. Have a great Wednesday!

Welcome Becca & BJ

Debbie, I am so glad you are safe. I was worried about ya! :?:

The last week has been weird.....I was at my in-laws all weekend where we ate out all the time......then I was house sitting for my parents the last few days and was eating whatever was available, so I really haven't had much control over what I've been eating and I probably ate too much on top of that. My exercise got thrown off too. Anyways, I think I will have gained, at least a few lbs, because I am also ovulating which makes me retain water. Bottom line.........I gotta get back on the horse and ride - YEE HAW! :crossed:

Nicki - I am proud of you for realizing you can't do this alone and I think WW is the best program out there, especially for accountability.

Nighty Night,
Mel

Nicki,

I love Weight Watchers! It's expensive, but so worth it, in my opinion. I weigh in today, but I don't think I'll have a loss, because I've been using my points poorly this week, and have gotten little to no exercise. We'll see!

Hi guys! :D

Karen, do you think you have hit a plateau, or is this only because your visitor is coming? I’m not sure what the most weight I have lost in a month is… I usually never make it to a month! Haha.

Hey Becca! So glad you could join us. These girls in this thread are so awesome! You will love it. I see you have already lost a lot of weight! Good for you! Keep it up! :D

Thanks Melanie, my Mom suggested it, because it’s how she lost her weight and kept it off. She knows me very well, and knows that it is hard! So I’m pretty excited about it. She said to just give it a month. Just do it to the fullest for one month, and see where I’m at then. So, that’s what I will do. But I have a feeling that I will lose weight in that month, and be addicted and stick with it. ;) And yeah, just get right back on the horse! You are SO CLOSE to your mini goal it’s insane!

Sarah how did your weigh in go? And yeah, $12 a week! That is kinda pricey! But right now they are having free enrollment, so at least I will save $15 when I join! LOL

Nicki: I think that I have been eating the wrong foods and maybe it is my monthly vistor, but it has not come as of yet. I think that it is great about WW. I got two 25lbs stars when I did it.

Anyway, I think that I am losing again. It is funny about different scales and how you stand on them. Some scales are 2 lbs apart and depending where one stands on them it can be a difference of 2 lbs. So, I try to use the same scale. We will see how I do at weigh in in the morning. When I started my body for life I was 225 with period, last week 213. So we will see in the morning. Hope everyone is doing okay.

Loser,

Karen

Hey everyone! :)

This is VERY off topic, but I don't know who else to ask . I currently use Purex (the liquid kind) for my detergent and it doesn't really seem like it cleans my stuff all that well. So, I'm wondering if you all could give me some ideas of stuff to try from your experience. Also, what's the difference between the liquid detergent and the powder detergent? I just want my clothes to be clean, soft and smell good so any help anyone could give would be awesome :p !!

Hope you're all doing well. I'm really buckling down this week and re-starting my exercise routine and my eating healthy routine as I've been slacking on both lately.

Oh yeah Karen! How is BFL going?! Do you like it? I loved eating ever 2-3 hours. :p

Haley I have NO idea about your question, sorry. I just know that we use Tide Bleach, and our clothes come out nice. :D

Where is everyone else?

fitnessweetie
10-10-2005, 06:35 AM
Happy Monday!

Haley we use the same. My clothes do come out clean. But like nicki uses tide does work well. I guess we like the cheap stuff, since we are living on one income. Maybe, try washing in warm water? However, we wash everything in cold. Also, all works well too!

Nicki it is doing better. I am finally losing again. Since I started I was 225, but had my vistor. Now, I am 211, starting week 6 this tuesday. I hope to be in onederland at the end of the contest. Does anyone know how much weight loss is to fat %? Like if one loses 8 pounds it is close to a dress size. So, how much weight for fat %? Nicki you can do the BFL thing with WW. I think that is the best thing to eat every two to three hours.

Gotta go!!!!!

Baby is crying...

Hi, everyone. I came here once and left soon after due to my father passing and some much needed arrangements. I just wanted to come back and tell you a little about myself. Also, if you have anything you could share with me, I'd appreciate it. I really need to be in a cohesive group of gals instead of just floating willy nilly around the planet. :)

I am Beth. 34. A mother of two children, a girl and a boy, ages 12 and 11.

I used to be a runner, die hard runner. I ran races and miles and miles every day. I had to lose weight just to do it and then I let it all go. It is what I am working for again. I recently purchased a treadmill (expected arrival date is October 26th) to help me with that goal.

Although I have lost weight a few times, this time I can't seem to do anything and stick with it. I have never been so flighty in my life. I want to lose the weight, I need to lose the weight, and then, "Oooo, Taco Bell." I hope that makes sense.

I realize losing weight is an emotional ordeal. I don't think it's about the food. My marriage is solid, but has many ups and downs, which are tied to my husband's bi-polar disorder. I believe I have shut off emotionally to be able to keep even when he is not. I believe I started wanting to lose weight again after I realized I couldn't change him or really help him. I have to help myself. I have to value myself enough to make myself a priority or no one else will.

So, here I am! I hope you will accept me back ... again! Even if I'm not doing well, I'm not bailing out.

Ugh, my weigh in was not great. I just maintained (Actually I was up .2, but that's because last time i weighed in in socks, and this time i weighed in in shoes). I knew that would happen though, because of all the house stress.

Meldiggety

Sarah - I know all about those kind of weigh-ins, hang in there girl and go for the gold next time :)

Hi Beth - I am so sorry about your father's passing, what an emotional time, I am sure! Welcome back again :D

Karen- Good for you for all the weight you've lost on this competition! I am so proud of you that you are still going for it :strong:

Nicki - How is WW going? I hope you are doing well on it. :^:

Hi Haley - I am probably not much help with the detergent thing.....I usually get All Free & Clear because it is more gentle on sensitive skin. But, I know that if you add baking soda to your wash, it really brightens things up and keeps them really clean :)

I have been kind of hanging out at the same weight for the last 2 weeks.....I will probably have to get really strict with myself again about what I eat on the weekends and such. I have to! I still have another 30 lbs to go :o

Well, hope everyone is well......it seems that we are losing our enthusiasm and not checking in as much, huh? Let's change that girlies!

I have a couple of replies to go. I'm still here. I ordered two new books written by the "Biggest Loser" trainers. I really love Jillian so am interested to see what she says. I haven't weighed in for a long time. I'm rather nervous about it.

I have yet to put down on paper exactly what I should be doing. I feel like I'm in limbo without my new treadmill. I can at least drink my water and not eat after dinner though!

Anyhow, here are the replies:

Melanie, thank you for the condolence and the well wishes. Maintaining is much better than gaining. It's proof you can do it! :)

Haleys, I am not only budget-conscience, but I'm a clean freak as well. The difference between liquid and powder is enormous. Powder cleans better, is more economical, and lasts longer. The recommended amount of powder can always be cut in half. It still cleans, still suds, and doesn't clog up the washer or cause repairs. I prefer Tide w/ Bleach because if I use half of the recommended amount, one box gets me through two months. If I can't find it in the store, I like Gain w/ Bleach. It's like getting two products in one and I swear by the white of my whites. :) I also wanted to say HAPPY BIRTHDAY! I hope you have a great one!

Hey Melanie, you can do it! WW is going fine so far. Today was my REAL day of starting, unfortunatly. It was supposed to actually be yesterday, but I didn't do too well. So today was it. I went to visit my sister over the weekend, so I knew I wasn't going to be starting until Monday anyways. Thank you for asking! Weigh in days are still Friday, so that's good.

Karen yeah, I try and eat every few hours! It keeps me from being hungry. Sounds like you are doing good on the BFL program!

Hiya girls! It's been a nutty long weekend. My Mum came into town to visit, so of course that meant days spent pigging out in Chi-town. I swear, Chicago has the best food anywhere! We didn't cab it anywhere, so hopefully I walked off all of those extra empty delicious calories. I don't guess I've shared why I'm trying to lose weight right now, but it is for a trip to HAWAII in February! I just want to lounge around on the beach and not look like a whale, so that's not a bad goal right? Now I just have to avoid McDonalds and Tacobell (my arch-nemeses) and exercise more. YAY! Easier said than done...
As for the detergent question, I go with Wisk with Stain Desolver. It's great, my clothes smell good too. But for great smelling clothes, buy fabric softener sheets for the dryer..they're the best!
Happy losing all!

Just stopping in again to say "hello"! I bought a book recently by Jillian Michaels, the trainer for "The Biggest Loser", and I really like it so far. I really needed to look at the mental side of losing and the first third of the book covers just that.

Still waiting on my treadmill, but at least I know it's coming!

I hope everyone is having a great Thursday!

Hey guys! I'm sorry I've been a stranger :(

Things are going well. I'm still losing weight. I lost the 2 lbs that I gained while DH's family was here.

Saturday, I am running the Race for the Cure. Then 10/29 I'm doing another 5K.

Okay, today was weigh-in day.

Here's what we've got:

7/30/05: 204
9/15/05: 197.6
9/22/05: 194.6
9/29/05: 191.2
10/6/05: 191.4
10/14/05: 189.6!!!!

I have finally dropped below 190. This is the first time I've been below 190 without help from medication since July of 2003. I am freaking out!

15 pounds down, almost. Well, for all intents and purposes.

Sorry to everyone for not updating often. Thins are just crazy for me because we're in the process of buying a house. Hope everyone is doing well!

Celeste, I hope your races go great. Congrats on the weight loss!

Suze, congratulations on your weight loss AND the new decade. Awesome!

I am reading Jillian Michael's new book. I love it. It deals with the emotional barriers of losing weight, then eating, then working out. You have to get through the emotional part first.

I think this is why I haven't been doing so well with sticking to anything. I'm trying to change the behavior instead of changing me.

I hope everyone has a great weekend!

Forgot to post my weigh-in Friday, I am down half a pound......yeah, I know, woopdie freakin' doo! It's not a big loss and I am tired of these tiny spread out losses, so I have no choice but to cut my calories......it's all I can do differently at this point. I got the exercise part down and I am good all week long with eating, but come weekends, I eat too much and it almost negates how well I ate during the week.

Celeste - Good job on the 5k :D - I hope to do one of those next year sometime - we will see!

Beth - Hope you're enjoying your book!

Sarah - Good job on the weight loss!

I weighed in today for the first time in a long time and am at my heaviest weight ever. Blech. I was shocked to see the number, but am working hard to change it.

I am loving Winning by Losing and used her workout plan today plus some additional time on the treadmill. All I can say is WOW! That woman's workout worked my whole body including the lungs! =)

Hey everyone. I thought I would pop in and say hey. Sorry I haven't been around much but hubby is working out of town so by the time the girls I keep leave in evening it is time to feed all these animals I have so that doesn't leave me much time. I am still doing good one diet. Down to 185 right now and holding. I have been slack on the walking but by the time I haul hay for the horses and all the feed for hogs ( my hubby's wild hogs) and dogs (with what he catches hogs with) I am pooped. I did go to my first carnival for first time in years with my friends daughter,we carried her little sons. We had a blast at first I wouldn't ride( cause u know at 230 you don't fit the rides to good) Then I realized I was as thin as most of the people there at the carnival and Nana let her hair down lol. I actually rode the tilt a whirl and didn't squish the kids lol. Well enough rambling. Just thought I would pop in and let you know I haven't croaked and I will talk to you soon. Keep up good work everyone.

Melanie, your pictures are such an inspiration!! What an amazing difference!

Nicki, weight watchers really is pretty easy when you get into it! I'm glad you've found something that you like!

I have a little cold now, stuffy/runny nose and sneezing and it sucks! I've been putting off exercise because I'm waiting to get my ipod in the mail. So, I've been saying "ok as soon as I get it, I'm going to go work out". This isn't a bad thing, but seeing as I haven't been to the gym in a while, I shouldn't wait for my ipod to start going again! I think I'll finish off this mint tea and go for a walk outside because it's beautiful!!

Welcome Alisha & Akita! Jump right in, glad to have you both with us and congrats to you both on your weight loss so far!!

Karen, I LOVE my ipod so far. I got the new 30gb one with a color screen in black and it's wonderful so far. I have 883 songs on it and it can hold 7500, it also can have pictures and video on it, which is pretty cool! The only thing that sucks so far is apple doesn't have many accessories which are made for the new one yet, but I'm sure by christmas they will. I went to buy a case for it today and they don't even have those out yet! But I'd reccomend it (so far!!).

I was SSSOOOOO stressed watching the Astros game today (game 3 of the world series), they ended up losing 7-5 against the white sox in the 14th inning. It was CRAZY, it lasted over five hours! Oh well, at least we got to the world series, first time ever!!

Hope you're all having a good week!!! Time for some sleeeeeeeep.

I want the numbers on my scale to hurry up and go DDDOOOWWWWNNNNN! I need to work harder so that can happen!

Thanks girls :D

Anyone know when we are supposed to hit our 'plateaus' ?? is it halfway through our weightloss? 3 months into dieting?? ... just thought it would be good if i can get somekind of general idea of it so i prepare for it lol that will probably be the hardest time for me. If i dont keep seeing progress I get really discouraged and start eating tons again. SO im really trying to prevent that from happening. .. im guessing though that everyone is different when it comes to plateaus.. i just hope mine isnt that long

Hi! I hope you have room for another! My name is Torrey and I'm 31 and I have lost 5 lbs. and have about 55 (at minimum to go). Like most, I guess, I have been on just about every diet and am not a newbie to this wonderful site.

Kind of at a loss though, b/c in the past I have posted on the WW site, b/c that was what I was doing at the time (1 - points & 1 - CORE), these were both great programs. And so were Atkins, BFL, South Beach, Sugarbusters, and a host of others. So, I was excited that you "general" support group was available.

When I'm "good", I'm very good. I've had trainers, done my own workout and have seen amazing results. However, once I start losing, I get too comfortable and/or I get bored and totally blow it.

So, now I've decided to do my own thing. And take it slow. I do need support and this is where you guys come in. I love my friends and family, but they are not the best in following a weight program, most of them can't stay on one themselves. I have decided to focus on healthy eating, rather than a diet, using the principles that I value from other programs and successful weight losers, i.e. 3 meals and 2-3 snacks a day, no more than 1600 cals, with about 30% of them from fat. I have started splitting my plate, 1/2 vegetables, 1/4 protein and 1/4 carbohydrate. I am eating more veggies and fruit and replacing high sugar and fatty desserts with fruit or better choices. And water, lots and lots of water.

I'm sick of looking and feeling this way. Yet, I am sick of making eating so complicated and not enjoying what I'm eating.

I also need to workout. I used to do the whole gym and weight thing and am not so focused on that right now. Just want to ease into this "experiment", by walking, or HIIT, yoga, pilates and strength training using resistance bands, light weights and the stability ball.

That's me in nutshell. I am so impressed with all that you all have accomplished! I hope that it rubs off!

Thank you!

Hello! I hope you don't mind me joining as well. My name is Kelli, I'm 23 years old and living in Colorado!
I've struggled w/ weight all my life, always the little chunky kid and then the chunky teen and so on. It doesn't help that my job is SITTING ON MY BUTT (billing office) so I know, it's just an excuse but you know sometimes after work the last thing you are thinking about is working out but I have gotta change my ways here ... I'm very motivated to do so and can't wait to start losing weight.
Right now I'm at 190 lbs and I'm only 5'2 well actually I'm 5'1 and 1/2 if you wanna get technical hahaha but I'm short and so there aren't a lot of places to hide the fact that I'm overweight. Anyway, my goal is to get down to 125 lbs which is 60 lbs ... I love how you guys have smaller goals because 125 sounds SOOOOOOOOOO far away that's probably why I always give up in the past. How do you set reasonalbe goals (like losing X amount of weight by Halloween or Thanksgiving or any holiday?) for yourselves?
Anyway, I just wanted to introduce myself and get to know you girls! You all sound fabulous from what I've read!

HUGS!

Hi Torrey & Kelli - Welcome! You both sound very motivated! Thx for joining us. This board has helped me lose over 20 lbs now, so I hope it will be a good resource for you too. Lots of support, understanding, advice, etc....it's awesome.

Akita - Hello! For me I have had peaks and valley's during my weight loss......I think the plateau thing is really individual and depends on the amount of weight you are looking to lose as well as how active your metabolism is. I started to slow my weight loss down after coming half way to my goal. I think it just started to pick up a little though.......that's why I think it's so important to change up your calorie intake every few days and change up your exerise routine.....always keep your body guessing and it won't really have much time to stall! :carrot:

Thanks a lot Mel ;)

Im just surprised at how well my metabolism must be going. I really dont do much exercise yet. The most I do is some walking and maybe some dancing. Im sure once i lose more weight Ill be able to keep up with more exercise easier, just right now i need a good butt kicking to get me really into it LOL... I just started up with weights, and even with that Im not up to doing much of it. I think right now my main goal is to really stick with my diet, how well im eating. I figure if i mainly focus on that and slowly get some exercise in when I feel like it, the weight will come off sooner or later  Im just surprised at how well ive been doing already! I guess the diet makes the biggest difference to me!

Hi Kelli & Torrey! *waves* hope you stick around, the more the better :D

anyone already making plans to what changes will need to be made around the holidays in Dec? lol ... I think I will be more successful with my eating habits if i start figuring out my plan now lol

Hi! I hope you all don't mind me joining too.

My name is Nicole. I'm a SAHM and college student. This is my first real attampt at losing weight. Somehow in the past 7 years since I graduated high school, I've managed to pack on almost 100 lbs! My metabolism sure isn't where it used to be. I'm also sure having 2 babies 15.5 months apart in the last 25 months didn't help things. I've started working out at the gym 3-4 times a week, doing cardio and weight training, and 3 days a week at home doing pilates and belly dancing. My dh and I have changed our eating too. No dieting though, just healthy eating. We've cut out most of the junk, added lots of fruits and veggies, and are watching our portion size. I started on the 17th at 215 lbs and a size 14 or 16. So far I've lost 3 lbs. I want to feel comfortable wearing a bikini next May when we go on vacation.

Hey to all the new people!! Welcome!

I weighed in at 196 this morning (because I forgot to weigh this weekend) and have set myself a mini goal of 10 pounds to achieve by November 23rd. I really want to accomplish this goal, so I'll be working my butt off this month to get there.

Meldiggety
11-01-2005, 03:17 PM
Great mini goal Haley - I think I will join you on this one! My weight loss has slowed down a lot and I think a good motivator to get it going again would be a goal like this. If I can do that I will be to 160 at this end of this month, that would be awesome! Ok, so let's encourage each other with this, alright? My biggest down fall is the weekends..... :dizzy:

How is everyone doing?

I lost another 3 lbs. :carrot: Thngs are still going great here. I'm just having a problem drinking my water. I've never drank very much. I can't seem to get past 45 or so oz a day. Tomorrow I'm going to try to set an hourly goal of 4 oz and see if that helps.

haleys
11-01-2005, 07:21 PM
Melanie, that's exactly why I wanted to set a mini goal! I haven't been as motivated to work out/eat healthy, so I figured a mini goal woudl be the perfect way for met. I'm definitely there for encouragement, and I'll need the same! My downfalls are the weekend and late nights.

I just got back from 45 min of elliptical and 20 min of strength training. I hadn't been to the gym in a few weeks and it felt awesome to get back there. I'm going to try to work out at least 5 days a week, with strength training every other day. I also ate really well today and have been upping my water intake.

I have tons of homework to do. Take care everyone!!

Haley - Good job on your 1st day towards your mini goal - you rock! I didn't do all that well, I mean, I ate 1800 calories & I am fighting off a chest cold/cough, so I decided not to exercise yesterday because when I did the day before, my lungs got all wheezy and I started coughing more. I hope this afternoon I will be able to though......I feel like such a lazy butt when I don't!

Nikel - Good job on your 3 lb loss, that's awesome! I know what u mean about the water thing.....what I did was bought a 70 oz jug and I fill it with water everyday & keep it around.....I end up drinking the whole thing most of the time, so it's worked well for me.

I have so much going on now! I'm looking for a job and for apartments for my roommate and I to move into (we want to move in about a month). This will be my first apartment and I'm so excited. I can't wait to start cooking meals for myself (and roomie because she doesn't cook). I think I'm going to be eating even healthier because I'll have PLENTY of healthy options and am not going to keep any junk food around. One of the apartments we're looking at has a fitness center on site, so it'll be very close instead of driving 20-30 minutes (usually in traffic) and I'll be able to get rid of the $40 gym membership a month. Looking for a job is so stressful, I really want something I enjoy that I can keep long term, because I HATE looking for jobs.

I think I'll eat some breakfast and go work out. I hope everyone is doing well!!

Haley - Hope u find a job that suits you perfectly! Congrats on the 2 lb loss.......after losing weight for awhile, a 2 lb loss is a lot since the weight loss tends to slow big time.

Ok, having an exercise crisis here.....I usually workout 5-6 times per week, last week it was 3 because I was sick........today I didn't workout, so it's now 4 days I haven't done a thing. If I miss my time while the baby is napping, I don't get another chance! Gotta get back to it.....I feel like a lazy @$$!!

Hugs!

Melanie - I know what you mean about trying to find time. I was working out in the morning before the babies got up, but since daylight savings, my 10 month old has started waking up at 5 AM. I just can't get up any earlier than that to work out. My 2 year old doesn't go to bed until 10 PM now.Good luck getting back on track. You can do it!

Melanie, I hope you've gotten back into the swing of exercising!

I'm down 4 pounds this week to 190. I'm sure a lot of this is due to not eating very much due to stress, so hopefully these pounds won't come back on.

Ashley, welcome! Good luck with your weight loss!

I just got back from the gym, I did 30min on the elliptical and 30min strength training. I tried to do more elliptical but its my TOM and I'm just kind of exhausted from everything. I'm going to try to do 45min tomorrow and may stick to that for a little while, an hour is just too much right now. I've got 4 pounds to go until I hit my goal and I'm determined to make it.

Yeah, I'm sure they are just busy, hopefully they'll come back around soon. I weighed in Friday morning and I'm still at 190, I blame some poor choices and lack of exercise. I highly doubt I'm going to reach my goal, but I think I may be able to lose a few more pounds before then, so we will see. I just wanna be skinny already, I'm tired of working so hard! Ugh. Okay, I'm going to get some breakfast and head over to the gym.

Ive been doing pretty well with the weightloss.. just seems to be falling off. I think another reason is that ive been pretty stressed lately, so i havent felt the need to overeat at all, or to snack. Which is usually the opposite for me LOL but i wont complain! .......... I know I will see that plateau sometime, and thats what im worried about, hoping I can make it through it... but going this far already, I will most likely be alright.

I'm back from Thanksgiving now, I did surprisingly well. I couldn't eat my entire plate on Thanksgiving day and was so full, I didn't even eat dessert! I did well the entire trip, I was so proud of myself, because I usually keep eating, even though I'm beyond stuffed. Yesterday, though, I ate a bunch of crap, it even grossed me out as I was eating it because I knew it was unhealthy, but oh well. I weighed myself this morning, and I think I'm at 186, but I'm not sure, so I'll do my official weigh in for this past week tomorrow morning.

I'm gonna just get right back in the swing of things and start back to working out. I actually missed not working out over the holiday, how weird for me! I hope everyone had a good time over Thanksgiving!

Nicki, Congrats on the treadmill, that is awesome!!

Libby, welcome to our group! Glad to have you!

I weighed in this morning at 186. That means I lost 4 pounds over Thanksgiving, which I think is an amazing thing for me, because I usually gain over the holidays.

I got my butt up and went to the gym yesterday, but only did 30min on the elliptical and about 10min of weights.

OH MAN, I just realized I've lost 37 pounds and I have 36 to lose, so I've lost more than I have left to lose (does that make any sense?) Yay!!! I really didn't ever think I could actually lose the weight. I haven't been this low in weight in I don't know how long.

I hope you all are doing well. Keep posting, lets liven this group up!

Hey Mina, welcome to our little group!! I see you're a "vegan in training," thats cool! I've been a vegetarian my entire life, how long have you been trying out the vegan thing?

I'm down a pound today to 183, which means 40 pounds lost. I am amazed and excited! I need to get back to working out so I can reach my mini goal!

Mina
12-25-2005, 10:40 PM
I was raised by two vegan parents who still gave me the option to choose my own diet. I was raised without red meat, but I ate fish and poultry until I was in middle school. Always free range whenever possible, however. Then I was at a restaurant and had ordered some pasta with shrimp, and I looked down at my plate only to realize that the shrimp were actually each an individual organism and that I was using hthem to eat and killing multiple beings all in one fell swoop. I turned vegan when I was 14, freshman year in high school and remained that way until I was 20 and had some health concerns. I returned just recently, and I've been vegetarian or vegan for at least 10 years total.

Mina

I'm planning to joing Curves tomorrow, since there's one right next to my house. Thirty minutes three times a day is doable and I could even take my bike up there when the weather clears up later in the spring and summer.

I moved into my first apartment yesterday, its pretty exciting! Now, I'll be able to cook and control my eating better. I haven't gone to the gym at all over my break, but am going to start back to working out tomorrow and that combined with healthy eating should get the rest of this weight off.

It looks like I'm going to Amsterdam in May with my friend and I want to be looking great by the time that rolls around! My classes start tomorrow and my classes are hard, so it's going to be a busy semester for me.

I hope you all are doing well and now that the holidays are over, we should all pick this thread back up!

Hey higherfaith, welcome! I don't have time to type out instructions for the ticker now, but the instructions to make them are on the site somewhere!

I weighed in today and am at 180, which is 3 pounds down from whenever the last time I weighed in was...Class time!

I am eating properly I have cut the salt out of my diet and ifI eat something that has a high sodium count , I try not to butif I do , I don't add any salt what so ever ! that has been hard for me cause I love salkty foods. anyway , I have substitued squeezed lemons on all my vegies instead of salt .. and it tastes great! good job on the weight loss everyone!! I know we can achieve that 60 pounds !!

How's everyone doing?

I'm back. Unfortunately, I lost the baby. I want to lose the last 10 lbs before I get pg again.

So, I'm back on the losing weight bandwagon again.

Hello,
I would like to join! I would be very happy and content at about 190-200....from past experience, that is a weight I can maintain and be comfortable at. Any lower and I have problems with maintaining. So at the age of 44 I would be happy to be at that weight.

A little about me....44, single (which has it own challenges!), professional, cat lover, and just generally happy with my life excet for my weight.....I had lost 170 lbs in the past....I was much younger.....in my 20s...but over time some of it has come back...I need to do something before I get that big again. I exercise, but not as much as I should....sometimes life gets in the way and I let it make my decisions for me....I wish I didn't but that is what happens! I don't follow any specific plan....did Weight Watchers in the past, but have also had success with just watching portions and making good choices, so tryng that again!
I am happy to meet you all!

Where has everyone gone? I miss you gals!

Celeste: I am so very sorry to hear about your loss. I send my prayers too you and your family. Here is a big  from me! As for me, I am feeling a bit down in the dumps today. I am thinking of joining WW online, I think that you have done that. I need to be thinking about weight loss all the time. And need to write stuff down and plan meals.

:welcome: Lillybutt, I am finding that it is so very important to find a group that is supportive. This was a wonderful group, I am hoping to hear from the others again and to meet some new friends. So, lets kick some butt!
