Question Advise

Hey all,

Just need some more advise. Today i found out that I am down 50+lbs since the time I started getting serious about losing weight, a little over 3 months ago, and I am a bit concerned. I know I had alot (and still do) of weight on me but is there such a thing as losing too fast? Should I make an appointment with my doctor about this? I want to lose weight more than anything and I am working hard at it too, but I want to be safe too. I listen to my body when working out and eating and nothing is wrong, I slow down when I am going to hard and try to make good food choices I am proud of my progress and how I feel but ...I don't know maybe I am worrying for nothing.

April - I bet it's odd to have the NEGATIVE feelings that come with weight loss. 57 lbs. in 3 mos. is fast, no doubt. But I bet that you lost a lot the first week, so-called "water weight" right? SO maybe like 50ish lbs. total is closer. If you are eating at least 1200 cals. a day and are listening to your body... I don't know what to tell you... you're probably going to experience loose skin a lot more at that rate of loss. Also, you might be losing muscle mass vs. fat if you're not eating enough protein and keeping up the strength training. A lot of doctors say that losing weight slowly is better, but if you're being healthy while doing it, I don't think you need to worry about that too much. Maybe you SHOULD go see your doctor, actually. I'm sure that they could give you a much better answer than anyone here.

So, yeah, basically through that warbled post, I mean - don't worry about it too much right now, but go see your doctor and see what s/he has to say about.

as long as it's not more than 1% of your total body weight per week after the first 2 weeks, then it's okay {or so WW says, which tends to be on the mark}.

Out of curiosity, what diet are you following?
