07-09-2005, 06:10 PM
Well, I'm new, but I'm here!
I'm sorry I didn't put your name in there. Bad bad bad Pamela Jo.....sorry. I'm VERY glad you're here. I'll probably be on here later on when I start sticking my head into the frig for "something" I shouldn't have. hehehehe
Hope to see you later.
07-09-2005, 11:39 PM
Hi Pamela Jo:
Freddie is here but since my auto accident (about 3 or 4 years ago) haven't been the same.
07-10-2005, 02:26 PM
Hey PJ -
I'm finally getting myself back on track instead of treading water, so my first place back was here. Reporting in!
WOW - Hi Elaine....been a loooooong time. Remember the "boot camp" buddies thing you guys had? I remember some really funny posts on there....anyway, really great to "see" you again. Hope we all wind up sticking around this time.
Freddie - I'm sorry to hear you're not yourself these days. I remember when you first told me your age and I was shocked because of the way you spoke...always young at heart and ready with a quick punch line. I'm hoping you're having a good day today. Keep your chin up. It seems like the OWLS are re-grouping. Yahooooooo!!!!!!!
Love to you all,
07-10-2005, 08:51 PM
Whoo-hoo! I know I'm glad to see some activity in this section. Late tonight when I'm playing online and that soda is screaming my name (I really craving it today!!) one of you will hide it from me, right? ;)
Why can't u have soda? I have Fibro but the only thing that I use that has an artificial sweetener in it is pepsi...the new one with splenda...so there's no saccarin or the other "bad" stuff that sets off "P.A.I.N." So, I'm wondering if that's one of the reasons u can't have it....or is it because of the sodium? Oh well...
My son finally got back from Myrtal Beach today and he's got a friend sleeping over now. We just finished a HUUUUGE pillow fight...and I finally had to get the .... Da dada Daaaaaaaa. WOODEN SPOON out!!! Ha!!!! The li'l rat doesn't know when to quit and really started wailing on me.....TERD!!!!! Sooo, he knows that if it's in my hand....Mama's gonna use it!!!!! hehehehhe....haven't had to...EVER....YET!!!!.........must be a PSYCH thing... aaaaaahhhh, i just love it when I win......which very rarely happens around here. Aaaaanyway, I'll be here later on...so if you're aching for that soda you can't have....give me a holler.
07-10-2005, 10:10 PM
Ah, the dreaded wooden spoon! My girlfriend has always threatened her kids with that, but at 16 and 18, they're a little too old to take her seriously. ;)
Amy, find an alternative and let the soda scream - it has nothing on you! It's when everything else calls your name you need to worry! But the good thing is that we're all stronger than those things that call after us, right? ;)
Freddie - good to see you here. Hope you're feeling better every day, and keep on posting!
Wow elaine, I just noticed you've lost 22 lbs. !!!!!! WOW! Way to go.....When I grow up, I wanna be just like youuuuuuuu. hehehehehe  Seriously, WONDERFUL JOB!!!!!
O.K. guys, give me a little feedback here. Remember when we used to put up a new post TITLE for each new day? How would you all feel about doing that again? It makes it a bit easier to see which post to start on for the day. What do u think?
07-11-2005, 10:56 PM
It was even more wonderful before my weigh in last Sunday - I had a huge gain - but then, it is PMS time, so I'm hoping that it is only temporary. But thanks for the pat on the back - sometimes I see the long road as opposed to what's behind me, and its good to be reminded that I've made progress along the way!
I like the idea of a new day thread - once we get people back in here and posting, it will get busy enough for it. At this point, if it's a small group, we could always do a weekly thread since there aren't a lot of us posting. How about that?
Sounds like a good idea to me. Just got back from the ER with my son. He's got a doozy of an earache and neither one of us got sleep last night so we're just hangin' on the couch as soon as I get off of this thing. Hope u all have a good day. Cya later,
07-12-2005, 09:54 PM
Hey there - ignore my question in the other topic! Glad to hear that things are better for Billy. Earaches are the worst, too.
Sleep well and see ya tomorrow.
O.K. YOU GUYS!!!!! GET YOUR BUTTS IN HERE OR I SHALL HAVE TO HUNT YOU DOWN LIKE WILD ANIMALS!!!!!!
07-28-2005, 07:13 PM
Hey, I'm not new to fat chicks, but new to this group. I am a night owl as well. VERY much so. I have about 130 lbs to lose, give or take. And very interested in being part of this group. Thanks!
07-29-2005, 06:43 AM
I am new to the site and I am a Night Owl (even though I shouldn't be). It's the only time I get by myself without the kids, hubby, 2 cats, 2 birds, and the mammoth dog either fighting, screaming, chirping or chewing on me lol.
I work as a substitute teacher and get my assignments early in the morning (that's why I shouldn't be up). Who needs sleep! I haven't slept since I was a kid why start now lol.
Nice to meet you!
Hi girls and WELCOME - I think it's great that you found "us" here. Actually, NIGHT OWLS was started by Brenda several years ago and we became so abundant that the 3fc gave us our own "place". Some of us had small children (myself included) and night time was the only time we had a chance to get "in here" and chat. We all used ICQ and used to chat for quite a long time. Many of the NIGHT OWLS just didn't have the time to get in here during the day ... and so it goes... THE NIGHT OWLS evolved. Sooooo, a big welcome and I hope you two post often. It seems the original night owls are slowly making their way "home" but we've always welcomed newbies, after all...WE were all new to this group at one point too.
Hope you're all enjoying Friday. Me??? AAAAGHHHHHH....going to have to work from 2-10pm today, tomorrow and sunday......ewwwww...... but...life goes on and at this point in time...I'm just happy I've got a job to GO to. Enjoy your weekend everyone and I'll cya later.
07-30-2005, 06:36 PM
Welcome to our new owls - always fun to have more people to chat with! I've been off line all week while I was in Jersey for a training class, and hope that having catered breakfast, lunch and dinner didn't do too much harm for the weigh in tomorrow! I did get in more water than I normally drink, and brought some stuff to exercise in the hotel room, so hopefully the damage was minimal. We'll see!
I've never been a morning person, so I can relate to those early morning calls. The last thing I want to do is get up early in the morning! ;)
PJ, it's funny when you talk about the group starting so long ago - having kids is a good barometer when you need some reference of time passing. Scary!
07-31-2005, 10:11 PM
Well between walking and trying to keep the kids busy, I am trying to get ourselves ready for a camping trip in Kentucky. I am the only one who has gone tent camping so this should be an adventure lol. It seems the only time I can have to myself right now is at night. (True for all of us)
Tomorrow is my first day off in quite a while and my feet are KILLING ME!!!! I have FLAT feet with heel spurs...and my weight only makes it worse. I'm going to try the "gel soles" so I guess "I'll be gellin" tomorrow.
Seriously though, I'm going to a specialist this week at my primary physicians request. My feet are REALLY, REALLY killing me. I broke both my ankles in a car accident back in '80 and I guess it's catching up to me. I'm so tired of being in so much pain by the time I get home from work. That alone should give me the incentive to lose the weight!!! I can't imagine what it would be like to wake up in the morning and just get out of bed without any pain. Hmmm, maybe some day...just not tomorrow or the next day....booo hooo.....
O.K. ... I'm going to try and get some sleep. It's 2:45am and I'm FINALLY getting sleepy......
Goodnight My Owls
08-01-2005, 04:41 AM
Hello, all you Nite Owls!
I'm so very glad to have found you. As you can see, I'm usually up pretty late and I would love someone to talk to! I'm 42, have been remarried for one and a half years, have two children - Rachel (9) and Mitch (12) - and two steps - Jessie (15) and Brandon (17). I read earlier where someone sufers with Fibro. Me, too. I also sufer with Systemic Lupus. The double-whamy! I also love dogs (well...ALL animals, but especially dogs). I have an Australian Shepherd named Jennie (8) and a baby dachshund who just had surgery on his lungs last Wed, named Gus. I'm so much enjoying my pupy! I forgot how much fun they could be. Well, too bad it's so late now that I found you, but I should be cracking the sheets. BTW, anyone here from WA state?
See ya tomorrow nite?
Niteowl (aka Cheryl)

Pamela Jo: There are these shoes that a friend of mine found that work wonders on her feet and knees. She has spurs and joint problems. They have a spring coil heel and I know that they are great because whenever I was her sub I used her sandals.
She had sneakers and sandals. The best thing about them is that you can get them anywhere. They are called ZCoil shoes. If you want to see a picture of them, go to ebay and put zcoil shoes in the search and you will see oodles of them.
They aren't the most stylish things but the comfort is tremendous!!!! Ever since my friend got hers, she has lost 20 lbs because she can walk again!!!
Wow - Thanks for the info...I'll check it out as soon as I'm done on here. Really, thank you very much! As far as "style" ... I don't give a rats A**.... At this point, I'll be so grateful just to be able to walk around without such intense pain
Hi Cheryl - I have Fibro so I might have been the one who posted about it. Soooo, I too have a "double whammy" between that and the FEET! AAAGGHH!!!! Hey, life's a bowl of cherries, it's full of pits...so we put them aside and move on, right? right! Hehehe. Sounds like you have a wonderfully full life with that large family of yours. I got divorced last year after almost 17 yrs. of marriage. It's tough starting over but I'm doing it and finding that I actually like not having to "answer" to anyone. Not that I really had to before but you know what I mean. I've got my hands full enough right now just trying to get financially stable again, my new job, taking care of a teenage girl and a 10 yr. old boy and the rest that life throws at me...lately, it's my alcoholic EX husband. Boooooooo!!!!!!!!! I thought that when you got divorced...it was over!!!! HA!!!!! what a big lie....
Elaine - Yes, the kids ages ARE a real eye-opener, aren't they!!??? I'm so glad to have become a part of this group though...you guys have always been here at one point or another...I LOVE YOU GUYS!!!!!!
O.K. - It's time for me to head outside in the heat and do some errands since today is my day off...as much as I would love to just vegetate on the couch all day with my feet up and watch good movies.
Hey, by the way...I thought I'd start a post where we can all put our real names and a little info about ourselves...only if you'd like...if not, just don't do it...it's your choice....me? I'm doing it... so please feel free to join in if you want. It's called "our profiles".
08-01-2005, 10:07 PM
Those are some weird looking shoes: http://www.zcoil.com/ And there's only one dealer in New England, and it's a podiatrist's office!
I have the nickname of Imelda, because of all the shoes I buy and never wear more than once. I have yet to buy a pair of shoes that I can wear right off and not have problems with them. With me, it's usually getting shoes that rub my heels into blisters. I've tried all sorts of things (except clogs, which I never could wear without falling out of them!) so am up for any suggestions myself.
I'll have to see if I can check these shoes out and see if they'd help with that, too.
08-01-2005, 11:38 PM
Hello, I`m new. I`m here
08-02-2005, 08:41 PM
Hi Chrissy, Welcome!
08-03-2005, 12:09 AM
I'm a night owl! Sign me up!! :c)
Welcome Chrissy and Phatty!!! - Please, tell us a little bit about yourselves if you'd like under the "profiles" thread. Glad you're here!
08-03-2005, 01:41 AM
I'm heading to profiles, now! Thanks for the cheerful welcome!
08-06-2005, 03:32 PM
I'm not new to WW but new to Fat Chicks. I don't know where I have posted, learning my way around, I quess. At my age it takes time..lol. What time do you night owls get here usually? I am in south Georgia.
08-07-2005, 03:28 PM
I'm not sure, ladykit, but I'm usually here around 11, and I stay off and on until around 1 - and then I go to bed - so, that might no be late enough. I seem to keep missing everyone!
Hi there girls
Believe it or not...I JUST NOW got home. Someone didn't show up at work today and I was asked if I wanted some overtime....DID I !!!!!! But my ACCCCCKKKKKIN FEEEEEEEEET!!!!!!!!!!!! I have my keyboard on my lap with my feet up on the desk right now. I feel like the swelling on these suckers is NEVER going to go down. :tired: I'm pooped...but I'm also wired now and I have to take my daughter to school in THREE HOURS .... AAagggghhh!!!!!!!!!! School starts for all the kids in Florida tomorrow. Yey!!!!! and Neyyyyy. I liked having them around so much and it always takes me a while to get used to them being gone for most of the day....but I'll live.
Hello again - Getting ready to go back into work but I have the next two days off. Just wanted to say I'm finally back on program. ABOUT FREAKIN TIME !!!!!!!!!!!! Geeeezzzzzzz............
C u all later.....jumping in the shower and then off to work again...and it's only monday. AAGGGHHH!!!!!!
08-08-2005, 03:07 PM
I'm in Fl, too - PJ! Where are you? I'm in north central Florida! The kids don't start around here until the 16th, though.
I'm glad you got the overtime! I hope your feet feel better today! :c)
I'm on the eastcoast...about a 1/2 hour north of west palm airport. Been here for 10 yrs. It takes me about 2 hours to get to Orlando...sooooo, that should give you a pretty good idea of where I am...lol.....I got home from work a little while ago and can't believe I actually have the next 2 days off......yes!!!!!!!
Did pretty well with program today. Didn't have any fruit or veggies yet so I'm about to make a nice salad....
Sweet dreams everyone!
08-09-2005, 01:27 AM
Yeah, you're way down there! I had friends who lived in the Melbourne area, but they moved to Ohio a few years ago!
2 days off sounds heavenly! Congrats on a great day on program!!! Here's to another one, tomorrow :c)
I also had a great day on program. The thing I love the most about WW is that you can really have balance. I can eat with my family, I don't have to cook a seperate meal for me.
On past diets (specifically the Curves diet and Atkins) I felt as though I was always stressing what I could and couldn't have!
Good Morning Erin - Wow! You were on late last night too. :tired:
My parents live in Melbourne. I'm very fortunate to still have them around. My Father is 77 and my Mother is 76. They are AWESOME people! They moved there from Long Island, NY about 15 yrs. ago. I moved here from Long Island 10 yrs. ago but I think I already said that. I'm having alot of B.F.'s lately. Please don't ask me what that is if any of you don't know... I drive up to Gainesville alot. There's a horse rescue that I'm involved with and it takes me about 4 hours to get there. You must really be North. Anyway, I'm soooooo ready for the "winter" weather. THAT is what I really love about Florida. The incredible WINTERS. Hehehehe....and I'm originally a northerner and these are NOT winters BUT I'm sure you know what I mean. The weather is just perrrrrrrfect between Nov. - May.
I've got a job interview in about 35 mis. so I'm going to scoot. I'll let you know how it goes and thanks for the pat on the back about being on program...yes, it does feel good to be on track. In more ways than one.
08-09-2005, 07:51 PM
I'm fairly close to G'ville, actually!!! I guess it's about 45 minutes away.
I hope the interview goes well, I look forward to hearing about it :c)
Well then...wouldn't it be nice to meet for lunch some day and meet in person? I've met TWO people from this site since joining in '98...Susan aka SLF and Sue aka SUEBEE. It was a wonderful experience. They are great people and we met eachothers families in the process of getting to know eachother. If you'd like...on my next trip up there...we could meet. Now that I'm starting a REGULAR hours job...meaning...M-F...8-5...I'll have my weekends off and that means I'll be up north more often now.
Hope you're having a great day O.P. everyone!!!!!!!!!!
....and Erin!!! Give that beeeeaaaaaauuuuuutiful baby a kiss for me!!!!!!!!!!!!!
08-12-2005, 11:35 PM
PJ - You got your job!!! So, I'm guessing the interview went well :c)
We should definitely meet for lunch one day - I'm certainly up for it!!!! Consider that beautiful baby kissed!
I am so excited - the site was down on Thursday, so I couldn't come and post it - but, I lost 4.8 pounds! YAY!
I hope everyone has had a wonderful day!!
4.8 pounds - YESSSSSSSSSS!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! You go girlfriend! You should be da** proud of yourself. Just think what 4.8 pounds looks like in butter squares.....THAT'S WHAT YOU JUST LOST!!!!!!!! WOOT! WOOT! WOOT! WOOT!
08-13-2005, 05:00 PM
Wow, great loss there! I've been swamped with work all week and when I went to go check on line, the boards were down for maintenance the other day. Doesn't it always happen like that? ;)
Anyhow, I'm back. Hope you're rested, PJ. And Erin, keep up the good work!
08-13-2005, 09:36 PM
Hey Elaine! Thanks! I hope things slow down for you at work, soon... (at least the days go by quick?) :c)
PJ - THANKS! You're a great motivator :c)
(because 4.8 pounds of butter squares is ALOT of butter!)
YES IT IS!!! - I saw Oprah pull a wagon onto the stage YEARS ago with 1 lb. squares of butter for every pound of weight she had lost. Now THAT made a big difference to ME when I would lose or hear someone else say they lost "ONLY" one pound. Have you ever seen the one pound blocks of butter????? WWWWOOOOOOOOWWWWWW..............what more can I say????
Cya later
08-14-2005, 01:54 PM
I made it through teaching Children's Church today - with NO CHEATING!
I did NOT have any cookies
I did NOT have any sugary orange drink
I did NOT have any crackers
WHY!??!? Because I ate a healthy breakfast consisting of a light english muffin w/ spray butter, 1/2 of a large banana, and water. I did not feel left out, or anything! I stayed busy making paper airplanes for the kids.
I decided that if I really craved something sweet, I would have a WW giant fudgesicle when I got home for 1 point, so after I ate lunch, that's what I did!
How's everyone's Sunday going?
Well, in anticipation of my first day on the job tomorrow...I am truly a NIGHT OWL...but nowwwwww, I'm reallyyyyyyyyy ready for bed and I just hope a little less than 6 hours of sleep will be enough. Say a prayer for me......
08-15-2005, 11:06 AM
I hope your first day of work is excellent, PJ! Hurry home and tell us all about it :c)
It was better than I expected. http://www.bestanimations.com/Computers/Hacker-02-june.gif
I worried over NOTHING....NUTTIN I TELL YA!!!!! What a relief. All I can say is after my first day and then sitting in the brutal Florida sun from 6-8pm watching my son play football (imagine what HE felt like), then getting home and walking Minnie for about 20 minutes...I am NOW ready to take a loooong hot bath and go to bed! At last...I'm tired at a decent hour. Amaaaaaazing........hehehe. Thanks for thinking about me. I really did have a good day and I love my job...
08-15-2005, 11:17 PM
If you keep this up - you won't be a night owl! LOL!!!
I'm glad you had a good day - I figured you would! You ave a really positive attitude :c)
08-16-2005, 11:32 PM
Ah, one is always a night owl! ;) Hope you get to sit down more and keep off those feet!
Awwww yes, I DO get to sit at my desk for extended periods of time but am also able to get up and walk around at my leisure too. It's great! I'm really loving this job so far. Hope it stays that way and there are no signs that it wont....by the way Erin.....you were right .... I'll probably become a morning or late afternoon owl now. Naaaaaaaah, like elaine said...once a night owl...always a night owl.
Cya all later,
08-17-2005, 04:57 PM
LOL! You'll always be a night owl - you just might end up posting in the morning! LOL!
There's nothing wrong with that :c)
I Hope things are still going great for you :c)
Hi there! Don't know if any of you have noticed or not but I haven't changed my weight "scale" on here and WONT weigh myself until I'm able to get back into a certain pair of shorts I have. Soooo, it's going to stay that way for a little longer. I'm almost thereeeeeeeeeee.....just a weeeeeee bit more to go and I'll be able to lie on my bed......suck my stomache in and zzzzzzzip them up.....then .....if I can walk atleast 5 feet in the tight suckers....I'll weigh myself...cause everything will be squeeeeeeezed up and over the top them  Just being able to get them ON and over my hips will tell me it's time to weigh in.
I've been doing well with "program". Bought some "things" to keep in my desk when I get the munchies and I have a huge bottle of water AT my desk at all times. Soooo, I'm doing pretty well for the first time in a long time.
O.K....I've yacked enough...off to take Minnie for her walk and then I'm off to bed. I think I just MIGHT get to bed and asleep before midnight tonight. AMAZING!!!!!!
08-18-2005, 10:41 PM
Alseep before midnight!! The horrors! :c)
I like your new goal - I can't wait to see how it goes! It sounds like you're pretty close :c)
I hope things are still going great with your job (it sounds like you're really on track all the way around, though!!)
Keep up the good work, PJ!
08-19-2005, 10:08 PM
:D I have 2 great things that happened today!!!!!!!!!!!!!! :D
I have a job interview on Monday that sounds very promising!!! And for kicks and giggles I decided to try on a pair of pants (you know the ones we all have them) AND THEY FREAKING FIT!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! :cb: :cb:
http://www.bestanimations.com/Computers/Hacker-02-june.gif Hi there girls!!!!!!
Erin - Yep, I actually DID fall asleep by midnight. Haven't quit the "butts" yet but I'm getting there. Down to a couple/few a day now. Soon, it will be NONE!!!!!
jacolmom - Woooo Hooooo !!!!!! Nice going on getting those pants on and yesssssss...I DO know what "pants" you're talking about only mine are shorts.
Aaaaaaand.....oh yeah..... Remember who you are......
08-20-2005, 10:34 AM
You go girls!
08-20-2005, 11:34 AM
jacolmom - EXCELLENT! Things are definitely looking your way! Let us know how the job interview goes - and Yup,I've got a pair of those pants AND a dress - it'll be a while for me, though!
PJ - Whoohooo!!! Down to the butts!!! You're SOOO close! I'm very impressed - that couldn't of been easy!!!!!!
I'm finally getting some much needed sleep. :tired:
My parents bought me a king size bed from their neighbor and it was REALLY firm. Well, with my bad back that should have been a good thing but until I got a really plush mattress cover...it was awful. NOW, I'm reaping the benefits of a firm mattress. THANK GOD!!!! And no...it wasn't a yucky old mattress. It was used in their guest room which was never used and so...I got a new mattress. Yey for my Mom and Dad. hehehe. NOW...as for my weight. I'm sure you can all relate to when u wake up and your stomache feels much flatter than usual. Well I haven't felt that in a long time until this morning...so I took Minnie out for her morning walk and now I'm having coffee and talking to you guys, wondering what I want for breakfast. Boy, it's been a looooong time since I woke up and felt like THIS. :dizzy: I''m just trying to keep up the determination by remembering how good this feels.
Well, it IS Sunday and I haven't been to church in a way too long. I'll catch up with you all later.....
~hope you're all having a good weekend~
08-22-2005, 01:59 PM
Sounds like you had a FABULOUS Sunday, PJ! Those types of mornings make it all worth it, don't they???
I hope you had a great time at church yesterday!
I'm glad you've got a good, firm mattress for your back! Super!
Yeah, yesterday was wonderful...today sucked!!!!
I've got TWO...not ONE ... but TWO abscessed teeth because they're right next to eachother!!! OOOUUUUUUUUCCCCCCHHHHH!!!!!!!!! Aaaanyway, they've got me on penicillin and vicoden and I'd better get off here quick cause it's really starting to kick in....I have to have surgery on my mouth tomorrow....so that's TODAY AND TOMORROW that I'm missing from work and I just started last week......OMG!!!!!!!!! I'm freaking out!!!!!! Pleeeeeaaaaase don't let me get fired!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! aaaaaggghhhh........ Ok....I'm ok now.... I'm just going to lie down....take a few deep breaths and then kill myself! KIDDING!!!!!!!! But I really do need to get off this thing. My head is spinning and I had to spell check this letter in M WORD.....
08-22-2005, 10:41 PM
I hope you feel better. You won't get fired. You can prove you had surgery, afterall!
I hope you feel better...absesses definitely hurt.
08-22-2005, 11:16 PM
Hi everybody!! Another night owl here also. Seems all my sixtish friends have gone nite nite. Just thought I would pop in and say hey!!! Congrads to all of us losers. Never thought I would be proud to be called that lol. Keep up the good work.
08-24-2005, 02:28 AM
Hi! Debbie in Texas :c)
PJ - How are those teeth?
08-24-2005, 11:20 AM
Just an update.......
Well I went on the job interview all geeked to find out it was a waste of my time :?: It was a MLM scam. So I have to get over it but I fell really duped.
The upside is Olivia has lost 9 lbs since we first went to the pediatrician and she is doing great with everything!
I thought I was doing terribly last night because I proceeded to eat the rest of my son's veggies and I had a piece of his steak until I called my WW buddy. Holy crap the woman ate all of her flex pts and half of her pts for the week and it was only Tuesday. So I had to talk her down from eating herself into oblivion.
My WW buddy has 4 high maintenance kids along with a high maintenance job.
This threw me out of my Personal Pity Party and I have to move on.
08-26-2005, 09:44 PM
Sometimes it's good to have that view of someone else to give one a good perspective on what we're doing, right? ;)
Keep that memory for the future!
