South Beach Diet - The Weekend - July 9th and 10th

Quick post because storms are going through and I keep losing power every few minutes. I'm going into a trance over all the digital clocks flashing zeros!

Had a ball at the birthday party last night and went totally off programme! I even ate chips. I intend to ignore the scale until Monday but be very careful over the weekend.

What's happening with you chickies? We can't sit on the deck this morning because it's pouring rain. Let's sit on the wicker furniture on the front porch and visit a bit over coffee. :cofdate:

Ellis - We had a great time however, I did not stay OP :( NonOP I had a few tortilla chips & a reg dr. pepper. Maybe TMI but I got sick right after we left the restaurant. I think it was the dr pepper that did it, so much sugar in one sitting had to have been hard on my body. I hate taking the met but it seems to be doing it's job perfectly. I weighed myself this morning, still the same :dizzy:

Me: It’s a cool breezy morn here … all the windows are open and I am having my coffee …Last night the lightening bugs were out in full force, it was like a beautiful light show .. I just sat out on the porch with a big smile watching them blink and wink..!
Ellis: Yesterday was a roller coaster ride. 2 out of the 3 houses DH was going to NC to look at cancelled..DH was in Maryland .. We cancelled the last house out and his hotel—and he turned around.. then I was able to get hold of a man that one of the cancellers gave me a lead on..He has 2 houses that seem to fit our needs and was willing to show them to DH this weekend… so I call to get him rebooked on the 1 house and reschedule his hotel. Poor man, had him going in circles on I95! Ruth... Never did start packing yesterday…Today I will start…after I take my 2 “Dingos” for their walk..

Thanx Ellis...it's my bloody computer.. DH has so many security thingies and firewall this and that and blocks on that we're safer than fort Knox.. (for example, I know that the little Smilies actually are Animated.. but on my puter they are static..Something about DH blocking Active X or something..I should be thankful that he takes such privacy protections..but quite frankly IMHO I think he is ANAL! :) ) Bummer.. but Flmom, I just KNOW they are both "Cuter than the Capital Q"!

Good Morning, ladies! How's the beginning of everyone's weekend looking? I plan to clean house today, walk, and just putter around! Tommorow I will be out in my woods collecting samples for my research....can't wait!! Coffee is exceptionally good this morning. I found out that I like evaporated skim milk better than creamer...yeaaa...since it's probably healthier. I only drink 2 cups a day and use about 1T each time so I don't think it's a diet killer, right???

Well, yesterday I had every intention of walking then coming home and doing my video workout. But on our walk I noticed blood in my dogs urine...yikes!! So we rushed home, took a shower, and off to the vet we went. I take her to this wonderful place, they saved both her and my cats life a few years ago, but the only thing is they take you on a first come first serve basis (unless its a life threatening thing)....so after 2 1/2 hours we finally got into the doctor and turns out she has some girlie problems down there. So we got a shot, some meds and headed home 4 hours later.....oh and I got a little lecture about falling behind on heartworm medication...ooops! So hopefully she's feeling better. The doctor kept asking me how long she's been straining to urinate, but I honestly don't know what to say because, I swear this dog is a hermaphrodite, she marks everywhere every five steps, hikes her leg and everything. She thinks she's a boy, I swear!

So the scale has not shown any weight gain since my Taco Bell indiscretion the other day, maybe due to me being VERY good yesterday and drinking tons of water. Haven't lost any either but it's almost TOM so me and my swollen fingers are not surprised! Today I will be very very good. I plan to have the mock french toast in a little bit and then I'm not sure. Has anyone tried the Souffle Stuffed Chicken recipe from the cookbook?

Morning chicks just crawled out of bed I actually slept in til 10:00 :D which is something for me. It is not very nice here today either, our subdivision is having a big yard sale today so I hope the rain holds off. Youngest dd is over at her friends house they have a table between the 3 little girls and are hoping to sell lots of stuff, they are aiming to make a $100.00 between them so that they can go clothes shopping. Megan made about 5 trips from here yesterday with box loads of stuff. I had to patt her down to make sure she was not taking stuff we might still actually want. :lol: My dinning room table is still covered with pictures but they are aleast in the right years starting from 1989 when we got married. My poor wedding pictures are not even in an album, so I guess that is my start point. :eek:

Ruth- if you put the tea pot on I will be over to lounge around on your front porch with you. It sounds like a lovely way to spend the morning. Glad you had fun at the party. Sorry to hear about the chips :s: those pesky things have a way of just jumping in your mouth and you don't even notice till you have had way to many. Hope you have a great day.

Ellis- Glad to see you posting more you sound more like yourself. Don't worry about those skinny little chicks at the wedding go in there with the attitude that you are all that, because you are. You will look beautiful, enjoy your day.

Still in my nightie, with DS on my lap "counting" and laughing at all of the animated smilies and such. Doing okay with the food thing, I'm finding that I'm really relaxed now about everything. I'm not stressing about every bite, but conscious about the choices I make--there's a difference. And I think that is something I can live with. Or, with which I can live, to be grammatically correct. Have a nice day planned, but nothing extraordinary. We've got painters coming in Monday to do our upstairs and install crown molding, so I have to get the paint today. And, in my neverending search for an affordable light brown leather sectional, will stop at a furniture liquidation warehouse that is going out of business, fingers crossed! And then, the pool, where DS is turning into a regular turtle. Ahh, yes, and grocery shopping.........kind of low in the house, had shhh! KFC last night. And after reading Fast Food Nation, shame on me! Anyway, have a great day everyone and will talk again soon.

Well good mornin chatty Cathy's! I was tryin to sleep in but between y'all hollerin and DH givin me a min by min run down on what he was doin....no rest for the weary! lol He has been workin on the kitchen drain for 3 days now and finally has it done! It was not pretty at all! He wound up replacing about 40 feet of pipe! I can't believe it has not stopped up before now! It was really gross cause of course DH had to take me out back to show me everything! I am just thankful that it was on it's own line and no others were involved. I think we are gonna pressure wash the rock on the house today. I know exciting time with no kids. Speakin of which I checked DD's flight and they are still in the air headin down under! Well I am off to get another cup of coffee. I guess I've probably missed the hen party on Ruth's front porch! lol

Hi y'all....went out to dinner last night with my beau and a friend of ours. We went to a steak house and I stayed TOTALLY ON PLAN!! I had a few peanuts, a tossed salad with tomatoes, onions and a sprinkling of cheese (no croutons or bacon bits), then I had a 6 0z sirloin with steamed broccoli and cauliflower! I must say though--it took every ounce of will power I had to not have one of those awesome yeast rolls with butter that they serve first!!!!!

Anyway--headed to grocery store, then to pick up my car at the tire place (new tire--spending almost $100 :mad: GRRRRR!)

Jen WTG on staying OP while eating out. That is not an easy feat.

Me- DD has a friend over rightnow, they are having a grand old time. They actually aren't trashing the house too much which is a bonus. Perhaps she will actually nap this afternoon. My first WW weigh in was fine- I am down a pound. I was hoping for more, but will take it! Since I am nursing, it is recommended that I don't lose more than a pound a week anyway. I am going through cookbooks this afternoon to plan some meals for the week. I do much better when I vary what I eat and try new things.

Hi there, We have had heavy rain and winds off and on all day due to hurricane Dennis being west of Florida.They are saying it may come in at Pensacola and it is now a cat 3 storm which can do major damage.I have stayed in house where it is nice and dry.Hubby got drown earlier today.He looked pitiful when he came home soaked. Of course I laughed at him.
I fixed some brown rice for supper and it never did get fluffy. I thought it would be nice for a change. We ate it but it wasn't too good. I like to put a can of tomatoes in once it is done and that gave it some flavor.
The wind is howling outside.At least there is no lightning.Just rain and wind.

Anchor...I can assure there was nothing more than cleanin rocks and pipes around here! I can only dream...DH is not your average bear when it comes to some things! That's why I say marriage ain't everything! lol It's been a loooooong time around here! But has the nerve to ask why I'm ill! lol! Crossed over the border (TN) and had dinner with some friends from our old town. We ate at a place called Cahoots. It used to be the city jail and we ate in one of the old cells that they used to carry out to jobs to house the prisoners while they worked. Pretty neat I guess. Then we sat on the square watchin all the kids cruise by decidin who was drivin Momma n Daddy's car! lol I'm headin to bed...I hope DH is not sawin logs tonight like he did lastnight! I was about ready to scream....he wakes himself up! lol DD's flight landed this afternoon accordin to the tracker. It was Sun. morning for her. Good morning, Another day of heavy rains and winds. Dennis is up to a Cat 4 hurricane which means a lot of terrible damage when it hits land.Hopefully no lives will be lost.
I sure do have a lot of aches and pains and I think it is the weather. We usually go out to ea for lunch and supper on Sundays but I think I am staying in where it is dry. :lol:

But I some how a bag of chips jumped right in my cart at the Co-op and into my mouth when I got home. Then some how I went into a trance and ended back at the store for ice cream and carmel sauce. I wish they would more the Co-op it is less than 3 minutes from my house.

Ellis- Ruth is right it is PA, we have our reservations for the camp site but I am waiting to call on the tickets til Monday hoping to get better than the online ones. :crossed:

anchor- I think they were thinking that they would sell everything. But they made 57.00 between the three girls and they had a ball. They also sold lemonande and doughnuts. They are always trying to figure out how to make money. I hope ds has a great time when he is away. It is hard when your kids go away, my girls never want to stay home anymore but atleast I can they are only a friends house I not sure what I would do if they were father away than that. They each went to Toronto for 10 day with there grandmother and I missed them like crazy. Have a good day.

We went to that wedding yesterday. I have clothes strewn all over my dressing room floor. sigh. My new red skirt made me look like a big red barrel, so I eventually opted for nice summer pants instead. Nice BIG summer pants. ho hum.

Mornin' Chickies!! I love reading all your posts! You ladies are absolutely fabulous and have really helped me stick to this thing this time. This site has been so great for me this past week and a half but today is the first hard day I've had in a while. Today I was supposed to go out to the woods but I feel disgusting!! PMS is kicking my butt! I'm crabby and feel like puking. I was good this AM and ate eggwhites w/ one yolk and summer squash and asparagus....yuck!! Eggs have never made me so sick before. I've been so good all week (except the little Taco Bell incident) and the stupid scale hasn't budged in 4 days!!! I've been so positive and excited since starting this diet but I'm getting sick of it today!! I've been drinking so much water I feel like I have an ocean inside me! Sorry to gripe, girls, I'm just having a bloated, icky day. Hope you all have a better day than me!

Just a drive by ... very busy day! DH found a house for us in Holly Springs NC.. Yippppeeee... so all plans are on track..at least now we can move in at a "leisurely" pace, as we are shooting for a Sept 1st closing... With an August 1 rental ... We'll be able to load up the SUVs and move some of the stuff in...

I think I'll (reluctantly) join the weekend off-plan club; I'm an unofficial lifetime member anyway......why is it so hard on the weekends? I too had an incident with Archway Windmill cookies jumping from the shelf, into my cart, and immediately into my mouth while unloading the bags at home. Things that I don't really care about during the week are suddenly irresistible on Saturday and Sunday, and then I spend Monday and Tuesday trying to recover......Anyway, just another normal Sunday around here. DS is asleep, and DH on the phone. Speaking of which, maybe we need to find some kind of supplement for these men, Bamie, if you catch my drift? I've seen "Horny Goat Weed" advertised in a fitness magazine.....hmmm? ;) So glad you found a house, Schatzi! :) What a load off your mind--now for the packing, ugh! At least you can throw out the useless stuff. What happened, Ellis, that is hurting and keeping you from the treadmill? Great job in the maintaining, Go fishin'! Schatzi...Great news for y'all! NC is so pretty. I lived there for about 6 months when I was a teen. We lived in Durham.

I have been online all day tryin to find a package deal for new York cause the travel club is not goin cause only 10 peeps signed up but me and my MIL still want to go. I think we have settled on the Warwick and bookin through Expedia.com. DH has been watchin the race with his eyes closed and his mouth open! lol But now decides he wants on the pc so I am off of here. Lots of weather breaks for Dennis. Take care Fla. Chickies!

I am so glad to hear that other people have trouble staying OP on the weekend. I was begining to think it was just me.

We had two 60th birthday parties this weekend. The first one was a dinner and we were all suppose to be there ready to eat at 4:30pm. So I didn't snack or anything before we went. OK so we didn't eat until 7:00pm. I was so hungry that I finally gave in on the cheese and crackers and bread as well as the veggies I took. Then of course I was so out of whack by the time we did eat I ate way to much and of course was feeling crappy and convenced myself that cake would make me feel better. Uhg talk about feeling like crap afterwards.

The second party was at our house and I made mostly OP items but once again the cake got the better of me. So Monday morning I am going to be floating up on the P1 side of the beach for awhile.
