What are you favorite summer treats?
Just wondering what everyone likes to have as treats, food or activities for the summer?
My faves:
Gelato - Italian ice cream - which is actually lower in fat and calories than regular ice cream
Fresh strawberries!
Sitting on my patio with a good book and a cold drink
Feeling the sun on my face while walking to work in the morning
The feeling of freedom I get on the weekends (it's just not the same in winter)
Going for a swim in a lake or river
Going for walks along the river

Canoeing at the cottage.
Floating around on a Molly Brown at the cottage.
Sleeping on the verandah with a book and a blanket. (when it's coolish)
Going to Remicks Rapids and paddling and building inukshuks (sp?).
Corn on the cob.
Strawberries.

Fresh yellow or green beans, strawberries,
Biking or running then coming home and dropping in the pool all dressed , this is soooo refreshing...then
Changing into my bathing suit, float in the pool and have a snooze...my g/f says I will someday drown!
Getting up early ...
Staying up late ...
Drinking wine on the patio with DH...
Skinny dipping at night
Hosing the driveway, I'm such a loser !! ( and I waste so much water )

Bags of Frozen Fruit.
It is nice to know they are always available in my freezer.
Depending on my mood I either suck on them completely frozen for a frosty treat or else I zap them a little in the microwave to soften them up a bit.
Some of my favs are mangos or peaches or grapes.
Walking around Nurseries and seeing all the beautiful summer flowers and plants. --Pookie

A Canuck is a Canadian, Schazti.
A Molly Brown is this wickedly fantastic "air" mattress. It's got a life time warrenty (or is it 100 years...), and you don't have to blow it up.

I can sit my big butt in it... with my can of beer, with my girl friends, and laugh till I Peeee... and not worry bout getting up to go! (or going down 2 flights of stairs in the middle of the night )

Lightning bugs, especially around my dog since she looks really confused
The smell of the night after a storm just ran through, before the mosquitoes are out & biting again but after the cicadas start up.
Fresh sangria with a good book or friends to gossip with.
Wearing cute sun dresses & sandals.
Outlawed summer treat: Ben & Jerry's Cherry Garcia
Currently allowed desert treat: no sugar chocolate pudding made with half & half & topped with the new French Vanilla cool whip, only has one gram of carbs in the whip & one in the pudding. Tastes great on a warm evening. Especially with red wine.
