Its a brand new week! Time for some new challenges! :) :)

1. Try out a new exercise this week! It can be playing a new game, dancing to music in the shower...whatever!

2. Re-read a few chapters in the Sugarbusters book, or read a few chapters in another book on the subject!

3. Write up a menu plan for at least three days - in advance! ;)

:) Go out and MAKE this a good week! :)

Wow, the board is loading up really weird today. It wouldn't show up on the main menu until 5 min. until 10, that that means it sat in computerland for about an hour. Weird.

Great news, and I do apologize for my whining this week. I lost 1 1/2 pounds this week, and it didn't show up until this morning. As of Friday, my weight didn't show a budge, but that just shows me not to weigh but once a week. Maybe I'll start a ticker next week.

We are going over to my sister's this evening to cook out and set off some fireworks, the legal variety. She is having grilled lamb and some potato salad and some fruit. I am taking grilled veggies and some gigantic shrimp, 7 per pound. We will grill those on her BBQ. My DD is bringing tossed salad. So I should be good to go this evening. I hope the potato salad doesn't look that good!! I will also take a pitcher of iced tea so that I will not have any wine. Don't need to be drinking my calories.

I have not gotten out for my walk yet, but after I finish the vegetables, I will hit the street. Apparently a street near our house decided to have a big party today, so they closed off the ends of their street and put up banners, set out wading pools, BBQ's etc. Should be interesting to see.

Well, gotta go. The veggies are calling.

HAPPY 4TH of JULY!!!

I just got back from the grocery and TARGET....I saved over $60.00 by taking my time and only buying the bargains!

Went to WINN DIXIE and man did they have the sales today! Hardly anyone in there...guess everyone is at the beach watching the boat races.

GATOR...computer problems???? Must be that VOODOO HEX I threw your way :s: Hope you enjoy your evening...I'm in for the day...it's too dang hot out there. No breeze stirring at all! I agree...these WOMEN who haven't experienced You, Me, Susan and Missy before, during and after the SEASON are in for a treat....
As for your trip to Townsend...it's so beautiful up there, I miss the mountains so much...bring us some cool weather when you start home!

MONET...What's up on the LOVE BOAT today? Wish I were closer...I'd be that big bump in your pool!

CINDY...Were you able to take hormones? I know that's my problem. Since I can't take them, the suffering has been worse than normal...I've tried all the
herbs and such, but looks like I'll just have to muddle through this cold turkey!
HAVE A GREAT DAY!

I'm off...Gonna put on a pot of PINTO'S...I cooked chicken legs yesterday so they are already done...

Breakfast was a little granola, some almond butter, a handful of blueberries, and a small banana sliced, all mixed together. It was actually kind of good. Lunch was a cup of chicken salad made with all white meat, celery, vidalia onions, and home made grapeseed oil mayo with a splash of almond oil, and a fresh cuke out of the garden.

We went for a walk, and on the way back, ran into the new neighbor on the corner. I was really pleased and surprised to see it was the man who used to own the Toyota repair place we took our cars to. A while back, he just disappeared from the place, and I had never gotten the nerve to ask his rather sullen partner what happened to him. He told us he is working in a different field now, but it was funny- he looked up at me when I said his name, and said "Oh, yeah, you have the old Toyota Camry, and the old Toyota truck!". I love coincidences like that...I was wondering what had happened to him, and here he has been living four houses up from me for five months!

In other news, I got irritated with my knitting and pulled it all out and started over. It think it will look better now that I have a better idea of what I am doing. :)

Hope everyone is doing well.

Happy 4th :) to all !
Getting ready to exercise so just a quick stop by.

Gator gal- congrats on the 1 1/2 loss.

Bob- good job on the savings. Nope I havnt/didnt have to take hormones. By the time I saw my dr the only thing I really had left on symptoms was some mild hot flashes. He said if I felt I didnt need anything better not to take. Im really glad cause I did not want to go on hormones. I did take evening primrose oil and that seemed to help the hot flashes a bit.

Monet- your mayo sounds good. Ive never tried to make my own before. I just recently got used to eating the Light mayo. Couldnt stand it before but now Its not so bad when thats all Ive allowed myself to have.

Have a great and safe day !

HAPPY 4TH!!!!!:)

It is also Miss Belle's 4th birthday today! We celebrated with a steak dinner. She even had her own plate (paper) with her steak all cut up for her.

I hope everyone had a good day today--and congrats to all who stayed OP nd for those that didn't, tomorrow is a NEW day and a NEW OPPORTUNITY!

Cindy--I didn't get any hormones either. I took some menopause formula vitamins that had evening promrose oil, black cohash and vitamin e to help with the flashes.

BOB--See above, I got the vitamins in, well, I really don't want to set you off, but it was kroger. It came in a box wth a packet of 5 or six pills for each day. It did seem to take the edge off the flashes though.

Gator--Sounds like you had your day planned well! I hope you cookout went well!

Monet--I cannot believe the car guy is in your neighborhood now! Does he know about the bad car aura around your house? Maybe he can do an exorcism.:s:

I guess everyone is off celebrating or on vacation today. So I'm especially grateful to Cindy, Monet, Gator, and BOB for taking time from their holiday to check-in!

Have a good evening!

Dinner was an English muffin with one Boca burger, and one hamburger. I loaded them with lettuce, fresh tomatoes, Vidalia onions, and pickles, and home made mayo. We ate a Klondike bar for dessert.

I painted around the bathtub in the hall bathroom this afternoon, and put up the shower curtain tonight. It was probably not dry enough, but tough. I am SO sick of sharing my shower with two young women who are ADDICTED to cosmetics! Honestly, I have NEVER seen so many shampoos, moisturizers, conditioners, and perfumes in one place that was NOT a store! Its insane! And Laura's friend who lives with us works for Aveda as well as Blockbuster, and I think she keeps buying more. Anyway, between the two of them, there is hardly enough room to walk on the floor of my shower stall. I am SO going to enjoy having to share it with just Tom now! The bath room is going to look really cute when its done. The shower curtain is blue with frogs on it. The walls are being painted kind of a mint green. Its nice and bright.

FILLISE: I asked the car guy if my cars could come visit...he just laughed at me!

CINDY: I really like making my own mayo. It tastes so much better than what you can buy, and its really easy to do. If you have a food processor, all you do is put one egg, 1 tablespoon of lemon juice and a 1/4 of a cup of oil, like olive or grapeseed and a dash of salt. Turn on the processor, and put another 3/4 of a cup of oil into the drip tube, and let it all drip in with the processor going. Once its all incorporated, the mixture will thicken. There is just NO comparison on taste...and you know exactly what is in it! :)

I twisted my back funny and I am in considerable pain, so I think I will get off here and go try and relax!

Hello all, I'm a little ashamed of myself.... I did really well all weekend. I decided on Friday night to go low carb for a week to jumpstart my system. It's easier for me to just not eat any carbs than to remember what's legal or not. I thought it would be good while I'm trying to get back in the groove.
So I did amazingly well all weekend. And even yesterday, until someone handed me a slice of Key Lime pie last night. And then I felt like such a loser that I cxhased it down with a vanilla bean shake from Starbucks. Of course I was miserable all night from the sugar. It always makes me sick, but I want it so bad!!
We went to Centenial Park to watch the fireworks last night. Poor Selah, The first ones shocked the pee out of her, literally. All over her poor Daddy! She's so tiny and Jake is so big that I just took his shorts off from over his diaper and put them on her. I never would have expected a 2 1/2 year old and a 6 month old to be able to share clothes!

MONET- I'm going to try that Mayo! My parents had frogs in their pool over the weekend. Selah was thrilled. Next time I come over we'll jst let her play in the bathroom! Sounds cute!

BOB- I've always wondered how to cook pintos. What do you put in them?

SEBRAY- If I can come back after a year, you're ok with missing a month :D

Ellen
07-05-2005, 10:43 AM
Morning! I just finished breakfast...three poached eggs, with a tad of butter melted on top and a cup of espresso with cream. I put agave in the espresso too. Yum!

SEBRAY: Well, you sure are a sight for the sore eyes! Its great to see you! I was thinking I needed to send you an email to see how you were. You know, if you are down and depressed, this is the place to come. We would have been happy to help.

TALITHA: Poor Selah! I was pregnant with my older daughter when we went to see fireworks. (her birthday is July 26) She hated them! She kept kicking me and flipping around... We have friend from Croatia who says she just can't enjoy them...scares her too much!

TONI: A lazy weekend is good! Just so long as you don't get lazy with the SB stuff! :) I can't wait to finish the bathroom! There is still one whole wall that is deep yellow that I have not painted, or primed. The mint color is so much brighter...

There is just too much going on around here. I would love to chill all day! Last night, at 2 am, I woke up to noises. My daughter and a few of her friends were heading out to the street in front of the house to shoot off her fireworks! I told her no way! If the neighbors did not call the cops, *I* would! So, she is not very happy with me, but this morning, I sent her to bed. She has been up all night two nights in a row now...

Ok, I am off to take James to work. Then I need to go to the store. I will check in later!

Hello all!

I've got a busy week ahead what with trying to get everything done before heading to NC for the week next week. I will have computer access most of the time (Not while in NYC), so will try to stay in touch. I'm also going to do my best to stay OP. The "point" strategy will get a workout here. I know I'll have have a NY hotdog (or two) and a slice of NY pizza. Other than that, I think I'll be ok.

Talitha--I think you did ok! It was a long weekend and everyone was indulging. It's hard not to feel deprived, so today is a new day and the only thing you have control over! Go for it!

Toni--I will be on the road on Saunday, so I'll wish you a happy birthday now!!!! I think DH should cater to your every whim on Sunday!!! You've heard that old saying. . . "Dogs have masters. . . cats have staff!"

Sebray--WELCOME HOME! We missed you--so glad to have you back. Sorry to hear you have been blue--I know the feeling. Let us help you through it.

Monet--I remember Laura's bathroom--folks she is not kidding! I must say though, as a makeup addict myself, don't be too hard on her. I'm sitting on a $60.00 gift certificate to my favorite makeup store in NY. I don't need a dadgum thing, but looking forward to spending it anyway!

I hope everyone has a good OP day!!!!

Just finished lunch- chicken salad, two cukes and a handful of cherry tomatoes with water to drink.

I went to the Asian market, and walked around and looked at stuff. I bought a lot of fish. I got flounder, little seabass (boy were they cheap!) and sole fillets. I need to eat a LOT more fish. I also stopped at the grocery store, but was in a hurry and did not have a very good list with me. I got Omega 3 eggs to try and I should have picked up some canned tuna to try. I used to like it...probably still do. Tonight I am fixing beef and asparagus in black bean sauce, Penang chicken, and something else..not sure what...with brown rice.

They are doing construction on the main street that leads towards our neighborhood, AND on the back way out as well! This morning, a truck pulled up in front of my house, and started digging in my front yard! They turned off the water too. I am kind of burned out with construction. They JUST finished the road that runs along my subdivision, and immediately started two other projects.

Off to get something done! Later!

Toni--Happy Birthday, kiddo. :balloons:

Sebray--Funny, but I was just thinking about where you had gone to, and how I missed your posts. Now, here you are! Welcome back.

I did really well on the 4th. I took the humongous shrimp and a big plate of grilled veggies over to my DS's and they grilled the shrimp, along with marinated lamb chops and chicken. They also served green salad, potato salad, bruschetta, goat cheese, ice cream and watermelon. I stuck with the grilled shrimp, the green salad and the grilled veggies and had a small piece of watermelon. Gotta have WM for the 4th!! So I stayed within my eating parameters.
Food today so far:
Breakfast--shredded wheat N' Bran with sk. milk and a peach
Lunch--grilled veggie sandwich on 2 thin wlices of WWSG bread, with a slice of melted swiss cheese, lettuce and 1/2 T lo cal mayo and balsamic vineger. Also had 10 cherries. This is cherry season so am not missing out on this wonderful fruit. I may have chicken breast and roasted brussels sprouts for dinner.

I am still having trouble with the guy who wants to marry our daughter and with whom she is in love. He sleeps over at her place about half the time, and it irks my DH and I no end. My DH has told him that it was not right for him to do this, but I guess the guy doesn't care. This morning I was bidding him good-bye and wishing him a good day at work. He wanted to find an Office Depot and I told him the general direction of the store, and said that I would draw him a simple map so that he could take a back road and miss all the traffic and stop lights. He said that he didn't want to know the short-cut but liked to go via the "straightforward route" and also liked the traffic and lights. He also told me last week that his mother taught him to always exit a house by the door you entered, and so he would always be leaving our house by the front door and walk around our house to get to his car in our driveway, rather than going out the back door and walking about 5 steps to his car. This all indicates either a stubborn streak or an unteachableness in him, and makes me even more concerned about the wisdom of this marriage. I am working hard just to keep smiling and to get along well with this guy.

Well, I have a work-out appt. in about 30 minutes, so need to go change.

Good afternoon,

Happy (belated} 4th of July everyone! Boy...it is hot here and I am definitely sweating like a pig. I had a rather busy weekend starting from Sat when the painters were here to paint the house. Jess and I had to get out of the house as they were painting the book shelve and they used something that smelled toxic so we had to find somewhere to go. I took Jess to the library and it was closed because of 4th of July. Then, we went to Pike nursery to look at some plants and I couldn't stay long as it was too stuffy and hot in there. We then stopped by at Ethan Allen to meet with the designer for few mins and to refill our water supply. Boy, it was a hot hot day. After that, we met dh for lunch since we can't go home yet. Dh went home after that while I took Jess to Barnes and Noble to kill some time. I was exhausted going from one place to another and finally managed to settle down at my next door neighbor's house for few hours. She invited us to swim with them and my dh and Jess did. We ended up having dinner at their house too. I am just so thankful for them. At night, we finally was able to go home after the painters' left. Gosh, I missed my home and is now more thankful that I have a home to go home to which I have not think twice of for a long time now.

The next day, we went to church and later, we went to our next door neighbor's house for 4th of July celebration. The painter was there working that day as well but for shorter hours. Jess and dh swam, ate, played and chatted with the guests there. It was a lot of fun. I didn't swim because I didn't feel like it especially now that my belly is so big. It feels more trouble than fun to me...lol.

On Monday, we did some gardening during the day and then had dinner with the designer from Ethan Allen and her husband. It was nice to know them on a social basis.

My house is in a mess, with dusts, paints etc and I can't clean it until after tomorrow as there are some more drywalls to repair. I love how the new paint colors turned out. Jess's room "lavender" color is just gorgeous!! I am so glad she likes it.

Some replies :

FILLISE : Happy Belated Birthday to Belle. Steak dinner sounds yummy :)

GATOR : Congrats on the 1 1/2 lbs loss!! WTG! Great job on your good choices on 4th of July. I can't say the same for my though :( Your menu sounds yummy as usual.

BOB : Over $60 savings?? That is awesome! Glad you found some good bargains.

MONET : Come to my house, I hardly have any cosmetic around....lol. Those I have was years and years back and probably not usable anymore...lol. Seriously, you are invited to my house anytime. I am sorry I haven't have the guts to drive up your way yet but as soon as I get close, I will let you know. Please do not plan the GA get together around me because I really do not know how things will be after Junior arrives. Just plan the location where majority of you want to be and if I can make it, I will whever you guys will be. How's your back feeling today?

SEBRAY : {{{hugs}}} Glad you are back with us.

TONI : I was as lazy as I can be as well but hopefully can get back here on a regular basis soon. Any plans for your coming birthday?

TALITHA : We all slipped for time to time but don't forget how well you have done as well.

SONIA : Welcome back!! I am glad you are back and on the road to healthy delicious eating. I hardly eat oatmeal so I can't help you on that. Please hang around with us and let us get to know you.

Got to go...need to get some work done around the house. What a mess!

I feel horrible. My stomach is still unhappy with me for eating Sugar yesterday. I can't go far from the bathroom..
Both of my kids are taking a nap. we are going to a friends house for dinner. She has done Atkins in the past, and is more interested in changing to SB WOE. I think I am going to get the book again and let her borrow it after I skim over to jog my memory. She's making porkchops for dinner with a salad, and I'm bringing marinated brocolli. Should be good.

B- Just Go! Shake
1 c blueberries
S- 1 c Carrots
1/4 spinach dip
L-Garden Salad
4 slices Turkey Bacon
1 Slice Muenster cheese

I am hungry again, so I'm going to go find a snack...

Hi everybody and happy 5th of July  ...

Well, I need some divine intervention here. I'm having a hard time getting back on track after going to Rochester. My DH said to buy lots of hot dogs and hamburger meat for the weekend as it's been a hot one and he was interested in picnic food. So, I did and have been eating them with the white buns...and last night my DD was at my mom's overnight and we had Pina Coladas and Margueritas and I've been sneaking a cookie here and there. I'm still in my size 12's, but I really want to make them loose.

The good news/bad news is that my DH is out of town for the week and I should be able to jump start myself into a good trend without him and his bad influences...like getting back on my Air Dyne every morning and taking Junior out for a walk...which has become very unpleasant as he literally drags me through the street no matter how much I tug on the leash and scold him. I make him sit and obey me and then say, "alright, now lets go easy" and he takes off tugging again right away. And he's getting to be a huge lug, too!! And then he lunges at the cars when they go by, which is annoying as it gets. So, I think I'll start out tonight at dinner being good, as I always do well when I get in a decent legal dinner and then start the next morning on track and then take one meal at a time, one snack at a time, until it becomes habit again. Just have to get the tarnish off my halo and everything will be fine...right? :^:

So, this weekend is French Festival weekens, where our town celebrates it's decidedly French roots. Supposedly, Napolean was set to move here and some of his relatives did live here, before he met his waterloo...so to speak. This was once a very hoity toity area. More than one US President has been up here fishing back 100 years ago and the former owner of the Waldorf Astoria built a castle up here named Boldt Castle (http://www.boldtcastle.com/) and 1000 Islands salad dressing was made popular by a silent film actress...May Irwin?...anyhow...Napolean was supposed to be a resident of my town and his house once stood where our library now stands. Pretty cool, in an historic kind of way. So, anyhow...they have a giant parade and it goes right by my house! All we do is bring our lawn chairs to our sidwalk, put out a blanket for the kids to sit on and collect candy and watch it go by. Then we have a cookout and go shopping for crafts in one of the largest craft fairs in the area and watch the bands perform in front of the judges stand. It's my favorite weekend of the year. In fact, when we were looking for houses, the agent told us the French Festival parade goes by our house and I'm like, "this is the house...we'll take it!!"

Anyhow...I'll post some replies later on...I have to start thinking about dinner...

Oh...and I finally found some decent size 12 shorts at Penney's. No fancy lettering across the fanny and no low rises, but they don't look like gramma shorts, either.

Okay...I'll talk to you guys later...and I posted a picture of my DD...11 years old...wearing the shorts I wore to Florida in 1997 when she was 3 years old!! I told her she can have them till I shrink back into them. They're a size 6. She was playing in the 5th grade-against-the-faculty baseball game. The teachers won... :^: I told her it was better than sitting in the classroom multiplying fractions, right?

EVENING EVERY BUDDY!!!

I know it is Tuesday, but my desk SCREAMED MONDAY!!!!

TALITHA..I take a 1lb bag of PINTO'S and pour them out on a tray. Look thru them because there might be rocks and such in there. Put them in a 3 1/2 qt
pot and cover with water. Let them sit on the stove (no heat) over night and swell. Then I pour them into a collinder and wash them really well. Put them back in the pot, a little bit more than covered with water, two slices of
fat back sliced bacon and 1 package of WILEY'S BEAN AND PEA SEASONING (in the produce section at Publix)....bring to a boil and then turn them down and let them cook for about two hrs.

SUSAN...BELLE could have at least thrown be a bone!!! Glad she had a good birthday! Did you squeeze her for me?

OH OH...Be right back...Tippy has to go out!

Dinner tonight was beef and asparagus in black bean sauce, Penang chicken curry and brown rice.

TALITHA: What a bummer to have to worry about allergies at such a young age! I hope the appointment goes well.

BOB: Why don't you use your pressure cookers for your beans? They cook in about 15 minutes....

TECH: You can do it! Legal dinner tonight...legal everything tomorrow! :) Go, Kris! Go! Wow..I have not seen a size 6 since I was about 10....I will be excited to see a size 16!

THUNDERWOMAN: Welcome back! One serving of oatmeal is 1/3 of a cup, I believe. You are supposed to use old fashioned oats NOT quick cooking, and cook them 'al dente'! :) I think Gator used to eat them raw even! (bleh!) The idea is not to overcook them. Not much has changed in two years. Jump back in! We are glad you are here!

KENG: Well, I would be happy to drive down to you. Maybe once you have the baby I can come down and meet him and Jess! :) Then I can take pictures and post them for everyone, and brag about seeing the baby to everyone on here! :s: Seriously, I would love to drive down and meet you sometime.

Hey everyone

It's me - the liar! I told y'all that I would be back to post and catch up and I've never been back - sorry!! I just don't have any time these days!!! Right now we are waiting for the tropical storm to hit. We are right on the outskirts on the west side of the storm so we won't get much. The eye is going to pass over Grand Isle which is where my dad's camp is...you know....the one we always go to at the beach. So, hopefully things wont be too bad. I'll keep you posted. We really have to watch the next one - Dennis - that one looks like it could head our way and he doesn't look like he's going to be a baby. Talk to you soon!

Back from dinner

I ate 1 1/2 pork chops, 2 servings of brocolli. I was so hungry!!! She had mentioned having a salad, but when I got there she had garlic bread and couscous. I am so proud of myself for sticking to my guns and passing up the carbs. Although, it was a bit embarassing to be reaching for more of the pork chops, before the men did. They were filling up on the bread. Oh, also everyone was drinking Iced Tea and I stuck to water. I'm feelin pretty jazzed about it

BOB- Sounds great. I use dry beans all of the time. Mainly black beans, garbansos, kidney beans and lentils. It's super cheap to get organic dry beans from the Farmer's Market. For some reason I've always been shy of pintos. I think it's because they were my first endever with dry beans several years ago and they were horrible!!! I thinkI'll try them again

KENG- I'm not in on everything. I'm guessing by Monet's remarks that you are pregnant? I sooo have baby fever again. When are you due?

MONET- I wish I had been at your house for dinner. That sounds amazing!!!

TECH- How old is your daughter, and does she live at home? Maybe he's just defensive because he is intimidated by you. Especially if he knows that you don't approve of him. That doesn't sound like a fun situation

Goodnight to all. Looking forward to WIW....

Hi everybody,
I'll be weighing in on Mondays instead of tomorrow. Somehow it keeps me sane on the weekends. I'm not gonna even step on the scale till next Monday.
Eating today was just fine. Tonight I had chicken breast cooked on the grill, under a brick!! I also had some roasted brussels sprouts, first time I cooked them like that and learned I like parboiled and then sautéed Brussels sprouts better. Also had some cherries. I went for my 2 mile walk this evening a little before 8 as it was finally cool enough to get outside. I think it was about 95° today.

Well, I'm gonna go.

Good evening...

I had a challenging day today with Jess. It seems tthe last few days she has been pretty cranky and hard to handle. I need to find out why because it is driving me nuts!!!

I didn't eat well today. At lunch time, I had to get out of the house because the painter was here and I didn't want Jess to bump into the paints. I called my neighbor and checked if she wanted to join Jess and I for lunch and we ended up going to Partner's Pizza. I had 3 small slices of pizza with my salad. I wasn't stuff by the time we left which was good but I really needed to watch my carbs intake especially the illegal ones :( Tomorrow is a new day and I need to focus. All the paintings should be done tomorrow....I hope, I desperately need my clean house back. Well, not clean as in very clean but clean enough to live in...lol.

Some replies :

TALITHA : WTG on your dinner choices, very well done!! Yes, I am pregnant and slightly over 7 months now. I am due in Sept 7th. The heat is definitely starting to get to me otherwise I am doing just fine :) Baby fever already? :) Planning to have anymore children?

TECHWIFE : One meal at a time and one decision at a time, that's my advice. I am not doing very well myself but I am determined to do better in every meal. I know I can do it, just need to find some substitute for my cravings. You can do it too. Think about having to come here for confession and that might help a little...lol.

BOB : Hello!!

MONET : Your dinner menu sounds yummy! I recently bought some fermented black beans sauce from the farmers market when we brought our guests there few weeks ago. I love fermented black beans but haven't use them for a while now. You just reminded me to use mine. Thanks! Yes, if you don't mind, I would love to have you over my house. I know I am about 45 mins to 1 hr away. It takes dh about 40 mins to get to Buford Hwy and I know you mentioned that you live close to Buford, am I right? I am in Fayetteville, Fayette County. Have you been this part of town?

FRUIT : Hope the storms have mercy on their paths and nothing major happened to your area. Just keep us posted.

Got to go...night all.

Hello Gang.....

I have been a bad girl this 4th of July weekend!! I don't even have a good excuse. I was so thrilled that the scale showed a 4 pound loss on Thursday of last week, that I just went bonkers on Sat and Sun. Now I am afraid to step back on the scales. What is wrong with me?? I work so hard to take it off, and then just eat and eat and eat and put it right back on!! I am really going to get back into the habit of being here, because I know that I do a lot better when I am here every day. I am just so busy some days that I can't seem to make the time. But I promise I am going to try. I am also entering my foods back into fitday. That helps a lot too.

Back is better, and I am planning on picking cherries on Saturday. We are having our weekly get together on Sunday this weekend.

I am taking my little girl back into the vet on Thursday.......she has a pretty good sized growth on her back end. It is in the area that they removed the tumor.....so it is not looking very good. This thing just seemed to pop up over night.......I know it wasn't there when I took her to the vet in May. And I don't like the feel of it. It feels like clusters of grapes......not just a single lump. I was hoping that this wouldn't happen for quite awhile yet......But she seems to still be feeling good. She is just a little cuddle bug....

I apologize, I haven't had the time to read any posts, so no replies tonight. I will make time tomorrow. See you all then.......Sweet dreams!!

I just got in from breakfast...I forgot to weigh before I left! I picked up my neighbor and we went to IHOP. I did not do so well. I had two poached eggs, two slices of bacon, two hearty grain and nut pancakes with butter and a bit of syrup, and I ate all the crisp stuff off the hash browns I forgot to tell them to leave off.... :( Oh, and coffee with way too much cream in it.

Its gray and overcast here today. I am feeling terribly sleepy. I may take a nap...though I need to go try and get James going. He stayed up all night, so he is not in good shape for getting up and going to work. He finally went to bed at 6! Idiot...

I'll be back!

Well, I got on my mom's scale this morning and it said I was down to 175!!! I am so excited. At the DR last monday I was 184. And at mom's house last friday I was at 181. thank god! I was on my TOM on Monday at the DR, so that accounts for some of it.

B-Just Go! shake w/ 1 scoop fiber (12g)
s- Celery w/ blue cheese dressing
4 lemon pepper wings

I'm going out for lunch. On the first Wed of the month All of the girls in my family get together for lunch. I don't know where we will go, but I'm feeling motivated and I'll try to be good. I may drink another protein shake before I go just so that I don't fold under the strain of severe hunger.

MONET- It is pretty gross out, isn't it? Selah had a pool party this afternoon that was cancelled :(

SEBRAY- You go! Your exercising is great!! I need to get in more water like that.

GATOR- What the heck did you do with that brick?

KENG- I think the baby fever is due to stopping breatsfeeding so abruptly, and the fact that at 6 months old, Jake is the size Selah was at a year (17lbs). I feel like I missed something. Also, with the second I realize how soon they grow, and crawl and walk. It's all over so fast. I held a 2 week old on July 4th and it tore my heart up... How old is Jess?

Happy WIW!! :^: I'm sad to report I'm up a few to about 162. No surprise...I've been bad, bad, bad and its my own dern fault. I decided to take the kids out to the only pizza shop in town that just opened a few weeks ago. It's so cute and I figured we could walk there and sit down and have a nice meal...seeing as how my DH left for Vermont yesterday for the week and left me his credit card :s: ...I was bound and determined to get them a small pizza to share and I was going to get a big, delicious salad and was really looking forward to it, too!! So, this pizza shop literally only sells pizza....no salad. I hope they expand their menu soon because they'll never make it that way!! This location has changed hands three times in the five years that I've lived here...the first owner was great, but retired and sold it to a lady that made really icky pizza and charged an arm and a leg for it besides, now we have the owners of the only grocery store and diner that bought it and I hope they make it work!! I know pizza on white bread crust is illegal, but it's nice to have a pizza shop in town for the kids...if only they have something legal for me to eat there, I'll take the kids there for lunch a few times this summer...

anyhow...we'll start out this morning legal...cross my heart!! But this is a perfect case in point why it's so important to stay on course when you're in a place full of food sin...once you go bad, it's so hard to that tarnish off your halo :s: and eat properly!!

Okay...so my garden is growing out of control!! I have some nice tomatoes that are still green, but about four inches in diameter...I have some green peppers growing and my green beans are sooo cute. My snap peas...I wish I'd read the back of the seed pack better and planned better, where it says to plan for them to grow 6 FEET tall...I saw the ' and didn't realize it was a ' and thought it was a " ...expecting them to get 6 inches tall. So, they keep growing into this thick wad and I have some bamboo trellises in there, but they're kind of out of control!! I'm considering ripping them out of the ground and starting over...it's still kind of early. Oh, well...this is my first year with a veggie garden and I keep telling myself this is my learning year and next year I'll have learned from my mistakes...

Talitha...my daughter is eleven and lives with me... ;) I think you're post to me was meant for Gator, whose daughter is about to make a questionable move in marriage ;) You can see my daughter's picture playing baseball a few posts up from here. By the way, you did great at your friend's house!! Pork chops and broccoli are definitely on the menu of legal fare!! :hun: Keep up the good work...welcome back!!

Seabray...nice to see you, Chicka!! Thanks, but I'd be doing better if my mom would stop bringing over that evil potato salad!! And baked beans...and white buns for the hot dogs and burgers...and if my hotel in Rochester weren't parked in the same parking lot as an IHOP!! And if the post office weren't two doors down from an ice cream shop..with soft serve vanilla!! I keep getting baby cones, reasoning...it's just a little blob...but it's still about the most unhealthy thing I could eat. So, now we have French Festival this weekend...and the Wegman's truck comes in fully loaded with French Pastries that are friggen out of this world and something I look soooo forward to every single year. :( There'll be no Splenda or whole grain anything in sight for miles!! I have to really think about my committment to this diet and stay away from them!! :^:

Teensy...so sorry to hear about the return of the lumps. So sad and scary. It'll be a hard visit to the vet, especially when you're pretty sure they'll have bad news for you. Keep your fingers crossed and I'll say a prayer that the doctor will say it's scar tissue or some odd thing. ALSO...I'll drag you back on the wagon if you'll drag me back on the wagon. I seriously thought that summer would find me dropping pounds like lead balloons, but I forgot about all the yummy summer food that's flat out illegal!! I told my family that I was going to make a macaroni salad with WW pasta and they all looked at me like I was going to make boiled octopus!! Which would be legal at least :s: . Although I'm outside exercising more in the nice weather, I'm having a real hard time of it...so I feel your pain, Colleen

Julia...living in home renovations is never easy. I remember when our house was in it for the long haul and the first time I got in my bed and I didn't have sawdust in my sheets!! I also remember being in my DS's nursery (I was pregnant, too, at the time) and crying with my mask on, sanding drywall seems on the ceiling, saying, "I have to get my baby's room done...I have to get my baby's room done..." I was so pathetic with the emotions...it was summer and my DS wasn't due till Christmas!! I'm sure you can relate...what an emotional roller coaster pregnancy can be!! Anyhow...don't worry about the pizza...I'm sure the baby enjoyed it!! ;) And I'm no professional, but I think carbs are a good thing to have for the baby when you're pregnant. At least good carbs. They are nature's building blocks, which is why we have to watch them when we're full-grown, because we start to grow horizontally instead of vertically  But I think carbs are good for growning kids...even one's still in the oven!! In other words...don't sweat the pizza :D

Gator...ahhh...Florida in the summer. Never done it, myself. I don't know how you Floridians can take the heat, but I guess Floridians can't understand how us North Country people can take the subzero temps in the winter, either. I would just melt into a pile of I-don't-know-what if I had temps in the 90's for a long period of time. I would be miserable and impossible to live with as well. I also don't know how you do it with the weirdo you're daughter is intent on marrying. I would want to rip out his spleen. What a rock and a hard place you have yourself in...say something and she'll want to defend him and if you don't say anything, you get to just sit back and watch it all unfold before you as she marries someone you know is all wrong for her. Kinda makes you appreciate arranged marriages, or at least understand the parent's mentalities behind them. I've already told my DD that she's not allowed to marry anyone other than my best friend's nephew...who is one year older than her and looks just like a young Prince William. She said, "Okay...I can handle that..." Good girl...

Fillese...have fun spending that gift certificate. $100 should buy you some mascara or lip gloss!! You know, I've lived in NYS all my life and have never been to NYC. I don't know why...it's kind of like living in Florida and never going to Disney, I guess. My mom went there on her senior trip (in 1955!) and said she was scared the whole time of being mugged. But she's always afraid of that, so I don't know why NYC would be any different. But NYC is a 5-6 hour drive from my house...which may be the best answer to why I've never been there...have fun!!

Sonya...I know EXACTLY how you feel!! I was in Old Navy (all of you that have heard this story, skip to my next reply) on my birthday last November and cried my eyes out because I was growing out of the largest size I've ever been. I put the jeans I was trying on back on the shelf and went to Borders and bought my Sugar Buster's book and have lost almost 25 pounds since...and have gone from a size 16 to a size 12. I had always been a size 6 all my life and had never, ever had to diet before, so I was at a loss. I tried Atkins twice, and got nothing but constipated from so much meat and eggs and hardly any fiber. Sugar Busters did the trick for me and you can get rid of that weight you gained back and we'll all be here to keep you in check until you do!! Welcome back and don't be a stranger, okay!! ;) You'll stop feeling fat, sluggish and all that in no time!!

Missy...hope you fared well with Cindy...now you get to look out for Dennis, who looks much more menacing than the latter. I don't know how you coastal girls can handle the hurricane season. I'd be constantly nervous that I was going to loose everything I own this time of year. Especially, I can't imagine living on the western half of Cuba...they get slapped around repeatedly every single year!! You'd have to be insane to live there!! I'll take my blizzards N E DAY!!

Okay...I that's all I have time for today. Ihave to get some wash moving and I have a doctor's appointment later...the nearest doctor that takes our insurance is over an hour away. The price for living in the boondocks!! Quiet, but not very convenient, to say the least. I have a spot on my inner thigh that I get every year when it gets warm. It always goes away and I never think about it. But this year, I was at my sisters and she saw it and looked at me like I was going to start a county-wide epidemic and said, "that's ringworm!!". I'm like, it can't be ringworm...I get this spot all the time and nobody in my family or anyone I know gets it and isn't ringworm highly contagious? So, anyhow...she freaked me out to the point I'm going to the doctor. I looked up ringworm on the internet and saw pictures that look indentical to what I have on my leg AND they said that it can come in the form of athlete's foot, which I thought was just an inherited tendancy I got from my dad, who always has athlete's foot. So, it's off to the doctor's today. I hate going to the doctor's because it literally kills the entire day. I'll be lucky to be back for dinnertime. So, I'll let you know what the doc says when I come back.

Talk to you later!! Kris

Hi all,
Thanks so very much for the welcome back.

Monet-So nice to see you still hanging in and still here after all this time. Can you believe its been 2 yrs. My SugarBuster baby is going to be 3 next month on the 18th and boy does she have a personality. Shes a mess beats up on her older sister...lol  My oldest will be 8 in Nov. She will be in the 2nd grade this coming school year. Time sure does fly. I need all the help I can get.

Bob-Hey there lady great to see your still here to. I'm back on the wagon..you must have backed up for me. Wheres Debbie? Have a wonderful day!

techwife-Thank you. I have been ssssssssssooooo bad. Eating was way way out of control. I went yesterday and got the good stuff back in the house. I need to lose at least 150 lbs. My scales no longer work and they are only 4 yrs old...paid 30 dollars for the things and didn't last no time. Anyway I am so glad to be back.

Everyone have a wonderful day! :balloons:

Morning gals.....

Was up bright and early this morning trying to walk before the heat gets here. It is overcast today and was very humid, so I really worked up a sweat.

Okay, I have two full days under my belt again........when will I learn?? Here is my menu for the day--

B--6 oz cantaloupe, 1 slice WW toast with 1 oz cheddar and two slices turkey breast, Lite 85 yogurt.

snack-- apple

L-- WW wrap with turkey breast, lettuce, tomato.

snack-- cherries

D-- Leftover pork roast, dinner salad with lite bleu cheese, zucchini.
dessert-- 1/2 c sf pudding.

I made dh a sf strawberry rhubarb pie, and then made a sf cheesecake too. I put the cheesecake out in the refer in the shop, and have been good and haven't had any of the pie yet. I just made a single crust and mixed the rhubarb and strawberries with some sf strawberry jello to make a glaze. It sure looks good, but I am going to refrain for now. I have got to get these cravings under control. May have to go back to PP for a week or so..........cut out most of the carbs for a bit. We will see how this goes first. As long as I can resist I will.

I have an appointment on Friday to get my hair cut and rehighlighted. Then Brant is riding in two different rodeo's this weekend. Mom and I are going, but Ted has a problem sitting on the hard bleachers for any amount of time. So he will stayhome. Some of the Indian rodeos will let you just back your truck up to the fences......he likes to go to those because he can take his comfy chairs. After taking 3rd in both rodeo's weekend before last, he is was sitting in 2nd place in the Pro-West series. But he didn't ride over the 4th, helped his girlfriend cut and bale hay instead so I am not sure where he is right now. At the end of the season, they take the top 12 bulls, and the top 12 riders for the finals......Last year he ended up second in the average. So I am hoping for 1st this year as it will probably be his last......

Monet-- I used to love Ihops omelets. Then I found out that they put their pancake batter in them.........ruined my appetite. No wonder they were so light and puffy......

Talitha-- Welcome back, it is nice to see your face again. Congrats on the loss......you are doing great!!

Tech-- I am there GF. Summer is a hard time isn't it. My biggest problem right now is my dh. He has this friend who keeps giving him all kinds of Hostess goodies for his lunches. I make him keep them out in the freezer in the shop........but lately he has been bringing them into the house. There they sit on the cupboard just calling my name over and over until I respond! Used to be I could totally ignore them, but not now........seem to be craving sweets lately, don't know why. Yes, I am very bummed about my sweet pup. I have known for awhile that she has cancer, but was hoping that we would get more like another couple of years since they just removed the tumor last October. This is a large lump that is clearly visable.........maybe it is not even the same thing?? I sure hope not. Since losing our other Bassethound, I tend to baby the two dogs we have left!! And don't know what I will do if I lose her too.

Thunder-- Welcoome back. You have been missed. And we are all ready to help you if we can.........and I am sure that you will be a great help to us. Especially me right now.........been a bad girl, and need lots of help!!

That's it for now.....see you all later.....

Lunch was some olive tapenade, two organic chicken Italian sausages, a slice of ww bread and a bit of mayo. I also snacked on a handful of pistachios while putting them up. I drank a diet coke with lunch too.

I went to Costco and got tuna, orange roughy, and a bunch of other stuff. The chicken sausage was on sale for less than half price. It was actually very good. It was on sale because it expires in two days. I froze most of it.

I never got a nap, so I am going to go take one now....

Howdy all my SB friends.

Well, I had SUCCESS!! today at the pregnancy clinic, where I normally succumb to chips, cashews (way too much) or some bite sized candy bars. My little note is working somewhat, and everyone is now aware that the candy, etc. is a problem for some people. A woman who volunteers on Tuesday got all the candy and nuts out again, but I moved it back and put a note in the vacant spot on the shelf that all the goodies were stored in the cupboard for anyone who needed a snack. I was surprised about the woman moving them back out, because the note I originally put on them, and that was still there, said not to tempt your Christian sister and not to cause her to stumble. For those Bible students on the board, you know that there is a very clear and strong teaching in the NT that is is wrong, wrong, wrong to do anything that might cause someone else to do something that they considered wrong for them. Anyway, I didn't eat any junk at work today, and am still on plan.

Julia--The chicken breast is an easy recipe. I marinate a boneless, skinless chicken breast in a brine/herb solution for at least 30 minutes. Then I grill it on our BBQ for 3-4 min. a side. I put a piece of aluminum foil on top of the chicken and set a heavy brick on top of that, pressing down the chicken. I grill it that way, with the brick on top. Then I turn the chicken over, and put the foil and brick back on top. After 3 min. the chicken is done and still juicy and tender, and not dry and stringy. I make a lemon/orange dipping sauce to go with it and it makes a very nice supper. If you want further details, let me know and I'll post the exact recipe.

Talitha-and all--I had a nice chat with my DD's bf last night. He came here "home" earlier instead of his usual 11 pm. So we sat and chatted and I finally steered the conversation to his practice of staying over at her place for a weekend, or a week, every other week or so. I really want to love this guy if he is gonna marry my daughter, but I'm still getting over the idea of his 2 previous marriages, his 11 yr. old son, his big financial problems, etc. etc. He obviously is in love with our DD and she with him, but that love bloom fades quicker than one might expect when the reality of debt, alimony, a lost job, etc, rears its head.
Anyway, what I told him is this: the Bible is very specific in the book of Ephesians that God has given both husband and wife responsibilities to each other. God says that they are to "submit to one another." But for the man, he has given some pretty big responsibilities: to do whatever it takes, even to death, to be able to present the wife to God as a holy and clean women, a woman who he enables to be all she can be. So, when he, the BF, stays over there, he is actually thwarting God's instruction, because it destroys any testimony that our DD has, it puts temptation in her way, and it causes her to disobey her heavenly father, not to mention her earthly one. I tried not to lecture, but tried to keep it casual but serious. I told him that my DH and I regarded him as having the above mentioned responsibility now, even tho he was not yet a husband. He listened (I don't know if he "heard" with his heart, but I hope so.) and said that he had never thought of that scripture in that way. I guess I'll find out what he thinks of our discussion in the next few months as I watch his action. I told him that the Bible gives him the difficult responsibility to tell our daughter "No" if she invites him to stay over, because that was, in the long run, doing what it takes to keep her "holy."
We also talked about his plans to take a honeymoon to New Zealand, even though he has debt. He says they can get over there and back, business class, for no more than $2500 total. I find that hard to believe.
Anyway, we had a good discussion, and even talked about our personal differences, and how we all want to be "family."
Talitha, my DD is 32 and he is 35. First marriage for her, 3rd for him.

One more comment re. the above: since God really wants us to be happy and gives us guidelines for how to achieve contentment, wouldn't marriages be so great if everyone followed those instructions to "submit one to another." A marriage would be like a mutual cheering squad, with each partner doing all that they can do to help their spouse be all that they can be, and doing nothing to thwart that purpose. That, of course, applies to all areas of life--sex, job, child rearing, spending money, etc. I can think of times when I was a nag regarding some aspects of my DH's job that certainly didn't make it any easier for him. And, of course, I have my own list for him. :) But it is nice to think about such happiness, isn't it.?

Food today: breakfast--meusli (the stuff with the raw oats!!!!) Mmmmmm, it is soooo good with fresh fruits--an orange, cherries, berries, raspberries, 1/2 peach. Mmmmm
Lunch--1/2 pnut butter sand, 2 oz. fish, burssels prouts, grilled veggies.
Dinner tonight will be 4 oz. roast beef, 1 small Sunlight potato (the new kind with lower carbs), and a salad.
I need to drink more water. I have been drinking herbal tea with lemon and stevia. Hope that is close enough.

Re. the Sunlight potatoes--I can get them at Publix. The produce manager told me that they don't sell that well because it takes about 2 weeks to sell 12 bags. And the last bag or two has some potatoes going bad, so sometimes they have to throw them away. Granted, the potatoes are more expensive than regular ones, but they are noticeably better. Very thin skinned, almost golden in color. Mmmm, good. And they come in a pretty small size, so you can usually have a whole potato for less than 90 calories. I have been grating them and cooking them with a dab of oil as a large pancake. Just potatoes and salt. Our cook in France fixed potatoes that way too. Mmmm.

I walked this morning, but only 1.5 miles instead of my usual 2. It is hard to get my walk in on Wednesdays because I have to be at the pregnancy center at 9:15. Naturally, I am usually late. I have 6500 steps so far today, so will have to take a walk this evening. My DD is coming over to hang out with her BF here (first time for that) and we probably will take a walk together.

The weather is HOT  and it is too hot to do much of anything outside in this heat. So we do all our outdoor stuff early in the a.m. or in the evening. Basically, all day we stay inside in the A/C.

Well, I haven't done many replies, but I have to start the laundry. Will talk later.

EVENING EVERY BUDDY!!

IT IS SO HOT HERE!!! NO BREEZE....NUTTIN!!!!

MONET...I don't like dried beans cooked in the pressure cooker. We really don't use it for a lot of cooking...just green beans, meat for soup, other veggies....My book says you shouldn't cook dried beans or rice in a pressure cooker because it can clog the gauge really bad.

THUNDER!!!! WELCOME HOME!!! We've missed you badly! Now, see if you can hang around for a while!

JULIA....

TALITHA....

GATOR...that chicken sounds good. I'm going to have to give it a try!

MISSY...stay dry! Let us know about THE CAMP

SUSAN...you dry????

COLLEEN....OH COLLEEN?????

KRIS...I'm going to count on you to keep us IN THE KNOW about the HURRICANE that's on it's way! It's supposed to be right off shore here on Sunday!

ALISON...Glad you're back...missed you!

WHERE'S NAT????

Gotta fly...

Hope all of you that live in the southeast make it through this season without any damage!! :crossed: I live north of Atlanta and we are getting rain! :rain: My Mom and Dad live on Tybee Island and sometimes have to come for a "visit" during hurricane season.
I fixed some of the low carb potatoes for supper tonight along with our steaks. Sean said it was the best potato he had in a while. That comment coming from a 13 yr. old is impressive!
Well, I'll go now and look at the radar again. We are under a tornado watch and I'm watching to make sure nothing comes to close, or we will go to the basement! ;)

Cindy is blowing through. No wind, just LOTS of rain. We had tornado warnings earlier.

BOB--I still have TONS of batteries left over from Ivan! I hope Dennis misses you, but I'm afraid that would put him on track for us. Two tropical storms this early in the season is a bad, bad, sign.

Gator--I'm glad to hear that you had sucess at the clinic today--uh-oh storm sirens are going off again.

OK better go.

Will try to get on later!

Thunder--WELCOME HOME!

Okay...resident amateur meteorologist here to make my predictions for Dennis. I think Dennis has "Menace" written all over him. :lol3: Sorry, had to do that one...but in reality, Dennis is going to be a real problem. He is expected to go through Jamaica as a 'strong' category 2 hurricane. The only thing to hamper Dennis is the relatively cool waters in the Gulf. It's still only early July and the warmer the water a hurricane travels in, the better fuel it provides. His barometric Pressure is nosediving, which means fast strengthening. That being said, if it were later in the season, I'd predict a really violent hurricane, but being that it's July, I think Dennis will be a Cat 3 hurricane and my predictions are that he'll make landfall in New Orleans. The lazy stationery front hanging around the South will be gone before Dennis gets there, and there won't be much to steer him East to Florida, so I think he'll just make a nice big arc into Louisiana...maybe a tiny bit more east. This is a really bad thing for New Orleans...seeing as how it's like a giant bowl that sits below sea level. A direct hit from a big hurricane would be a huge disaster...so I hope I'm wrong with my prediction of N.O. But unless a cold front in the Northwest swoops down to the Southeast before Dennis gets there, I predict N.O. to get hit by a Cat 3 hurricane later this weekend. That's my prediction...subject to change, of course.

BOB...you should get your batteries and plywood now anyway...you'll more than likely need it this year and it's never bad to have it around living in the red zone for tropical issues.

AND...I'm really afraid for my friends down there in HOTLANTA!! There's some tornadoes associated with Cindy heading your way!! Keep your eyes peeled and your TV's tuned to the Weather Channel or something that will give you the needed warnings should bad things be headed your way!!

Okay...TECH...OUT!! ;)

My back is killing me today. I wonder if it's because of the rain. I am so sick of my whole life being controlled by this... I have my consultation with the Neurosurgeon tomorrow at 9am. I'm sick to my stomach just thinking about what he may suggest. Please keep me in your prayers...
Had Jake's allergy testing this morning. He is allergic to Dairy, Wheat, Soy and....tomatoes of all things. I had stopped eating the three biggies, but it never occured to me that tomatoe was the 'kryptonite' that kept popping up to wreak havoc on his skin and stomach. Now I know. It's going to be tough to feed this little guy. Luckily, he's ok with Goat and sheep milk products. I have been feeding him Goat milk yogurt already.
I was good and had a salad for lunch at CHilli's I get the Quesadilla explision and feed the qhesadilla wedges to Selah. SHe loves them, and they are really all she needs, since she eats alot of the salad with me. Great way to save $5 on feeding her :)

I wasn't so good this evening though. I'n so ashamed to say that I succumbed to eating a candy bar. One of those new wierd ones with pretzels. THey're called Take 7 or something? Yummm... And AS USUAL I feel sick and couldn't eat dinner. Haven't even eaten anything since.

I made a run to WAlmart and Got Selah some Sandals for $4. I found three bras for me on the clearance rack for $5 each, and they were so cute and comfy. It's not easy to find a 38DD without paying $25 each. As sad as I am to be done breastfeeding, I sure am glad to be out of those monstrocities I had to wear. I know all you moms know what I mean. I bought myself a cute stripey nightgown and a robe for the trip. $17 together. Pretty good :) It's nice to even need new PJ's because of vacation. I'm still wearing all of the stuff I had from size 18&16. I'm now in 12! It was pretty rediculous. I feel so cute :) (except for the yucky tummy from the candybar....)

RE: THE WEATHER I am so glad to be heading north on Friday morning to Illinois!! THey are praying for rain up there. I promised to do my best to bring some with me. :rain:

GATOR- I'm so glad you could share your heart with him. I hope that he recognises the effort it took for you to reach out to him. You're amazing. Not many women would do the same. It doesn't matter that your daughter is older than some. As a mother, you have every right to be concerned about her welfare and her spiritual growth. Also, it is a special honor that a mother has to pray for her in shild and feel where they are with your own spirit. Mary did it with Jesus, and I don't think we are any different. I love what you wrote. My Pastor, who is only 28 did a series on Manhood that was amazing. He has actually been interviewed by Christian magazines about it because it was so powerful. I think you can still download it at www.trinityvineyard.org You may want to burn it on a CD and give it to him to consider. IT will challenge any man....

So sleepy..... More tomorrow

Another short one... Sorry! I am so tired, and I need to go be hospitable to my company. ( or James' as the case may be!)

Dinner was a small filet of orange roughy with tapenade and tomato sauce with fresh tomatoes, a very small low carb potato and roasted asparagus. I have snacked on pistachios, and almonds too. Oh, and an avocado. :)

AND, a glass of port in hopes it helps me sleep.

I will try writing replies tomorrow...I have stuff to do for my art lesson in the morning.

Woke up to the horrible news about what happened in London this morning. Now I'm not real thrilled about riding the NYC subways next week . .

It is still raining here, but the severe weather seems to have passed. Everyone is now watching Dennis. More rain. . . just what we need.

Eating has been good. I'm trying to finished up what is in the fridge before I head out on Saturday. Fortunately it is only healthy food in the fridge. There is no junk in the house, so I need to make sure I eat a pork chop, a bag of lettuce and finish a half-gallon of milk! What I don't finish of the WW english muffins I'll take with me.

Now where was I before Cindy so rudely interrupted us?

Talitha--I hope you get good news from the surgeon, but you need to be out of pain. I hear babies grow out of most of these food allergies, so hoefully Jacob will before too long. So what prompted you to go for the candy bar when you KNOW how it will make you feel?

Tech--I think you are right about Dennis. I know this area can't take any more rain with all we have had since the first of June. If he comes this way, flooding will be the big story. Not to mention the beaches that haven't recovered from last year. We don't even want to think about this hitting FLA.

Gator--I hope your daughter's BF listens to you, but from your description he sounds like he knows more than anyone else. Those kinds of guys make the hairs on the back of my neck stand up. I hope your DD is not feeling that it is better to have any man than to be alone. I went through that in my mid-thirties. I'm glad not that I emerged from it without making a terrible mistake (which I could have very easily done). There are far worse things than not to be married.

Teensy--sounds like you are getting your exercise in--Good for you!

Monet--No swimming yesterday--unless you did it in the yard!

Thin--Are you seeing any sun yet? Not so far here.

Thunder--I cannot believe that our SB baby is almost 3! From what I hear though, you don't really lose all that baby fat until they go off to college! Or wait a minute--is that the weight you lose because your wallet is so much thinner?????

Time to get to work. Lots to do before I leave.

Have a good OP day everyone!

Susan

Well I am slowly getting my eating back on track....only had one bady yesterday 2 cups of kettle popcorn. I will not eat anything off the plan today if I have to scream everytime I want it... Don't want to scream to loud tho might disturb the neighbors.... Other than that I did really good yesterday. I had a salad with fresh cucumbers, lettece, tomatoes, celery sticks and a lean ground chuck patties. And lots and lots of water. Didn't eat breakfast yesterday because I didn't get up in time. Had 3 slices canalope before I ate lunch tho. For supper I fixed baked chicken breast, fresh butterbeans, brown rice cooked in chicken broth and fresh cucumbers. And lots of water...between lunch and supper I ate a half an apple as my little one wanted the other half....and ate a necterine......You know when you are eating something the kids always want what your eating...lol Other than that I had a real good day. Hubby is on a rig in the gulf and they are running from the storm..He called this morning and said all but 46 are being evacuated and wouldn't you know hes one of the 46. Thank goodness he will be home next week.

Fillese-Yes Ashley will be 3 next month and it doesn't seem like its been that long since we brought her home. Shes totally different from my other child....maybe because I was on SB...lol...She is outgoing and only scared of bugs...any bug including a fly...really freaks out if one gets in the car and I don't get it out...lol...College with 2, boy I just hope the next few years pass slowly...Danielle will be 8 in Nov. shes getting to the age when that attitude thing kicks in and boy does she have one sometimes. I just sit back and let her talk then when she gets finished I punish her by making her turn the TV off for the rest of the day and stay in the living room with me...lol She doesn't like that at all.

Bob-I am going to hang around so much you all are going to get tired of me hanging...lol Stay safe and I will say a little prayer for you hun.

Teensybean-thank you for the welcome back. It feels so good to be eating right again. Lets just say I've been a bbbbbbbaaaaaaaaddddd girl very bad...lol.

Talitha-So sorry about your back. Know what you mean about the nursing bras I was so happy when I weaned Ashley. Now I just have to get this weight off so I can wear some sexy bras instead of fat ones....lol

To everyone else I hope you all have a wonderful day and a great eating day!

Dennis Update:

Okay...Dennis has taken a tiny jog more to the north...which is his perogative and as we all know with Charley as an example, hurricanes can and will do as they please and don't listen to or care about computer models. This is going to be one hard-to-predict storm. With that being said, I've taken New Orleans out of my target area and have more of a Mobile-Biloxi sort of target. With the jog to the north, though, Florida isn't out of the scheme of things, either. But...like I said...hurricanes do what they want, especially when they get big and ornery, so Texas may still be in the crosshairs as far as I know if that cold front hanging around the northwest doesn't get down here to steer him around...or if that lazy stationery front lollygagging around the deep south doesn't get a move on. But my official new prediction is somewhere between Brownville, TX and Key West  ...but more specifically, the Alabama/Mississippi line.

:sunny: We are having a few peeks of sunshine now. I took the kids bowling this morning and it was pouring when we came out. Then we went into Wal-mart and by the time we came out it had stopped. So, on and off rain today for us.
I took Sean back to the neurologist this morning and he increase the daily preventative med again. We are going to be seeing him about every six weeks or so for a while till we get these nasty headaches under control. :headache: He says that we can go to 400 mg of the topamax daily if needed. Sean had been taking 50 but will increase to 100 tonight. I sure hope we can get these contolled soon, before we get too far into the school year. How can you learn when you feel like you're head is going to explode!?!
Monet- I made the ww cheese straws last night and the kids say they taste like sausage balls with out the sausage. I wonder how it would be to leave the spices out and add in sausage? :hun:
Well, I'll see you later! Got to get some stuff done around here!

Well, I don't need surgery yet. HE's sending me to a different Physical Therapist who has more experience with similar injuries. The last therapist was saying not to exercise at all, as was my primary Doctor and the pain management. He's actually suggesting core strengthening and swimming. Make sooo much more sense to me. I'm not going to be able to start until I get back, though.

2 pieces Bacon

L- Turkey. cheese & TOmatoe Sandwich

I've been drinking alot of water today. I jsut feel gross.

Tech--I LOVE! reading your predictions. It makes the storm seem more sane. Keep 'em coming all during the season.

A BIG Bummer for me today: My workout place is closing. It was a great place, about 5 minutes from my house, small with no loud rock music, and NO babes in leotards. It was quiet, and CLEAN and the machines are top of the line MedX brand--the cream of the crop. They lost their lease and don't have a place to move to right now. Next week is their last week. :( So I'm looking for another place. I found one about 15 minutes away (not TOO bad, except for the fact that I'll need to take the interstate to get there), but almost 2X as much $$$. My DH and I are gonna check it out this Saturday. Anyway, got a 1 1/2 mile walk in plus a work out today. My legs feel like lead, and are kinda achy. So maybe I'll rest them tomorrow.

Fillise--When do you leave? I know you'll do GREAT on your trip. I've never seen you this dedicated, and I notice the drop in weight. I think the WWatchers has been doing you good. Keep it up.

Monet--I notice you've been eating those nuts and lots of those "good" oils. Have you noticed any difference with the Rosedale?

We are having people over tomorrow night for dinner. They went with us 2 years ago to France, so we are cooking them a French dinner. It will be semi-healthy, not low-cal, so will be my day off for the week. Menu: some sort of appetizer, 1st course: onion-cheese tart, main plate: Baked chicken southwest France style (roasted on a large French loaf of bread with onion, tomato, oil and garlic.), french green beans, Dessert: blancmange, or as they call it in France blanc manger, which means "to eat white" because the dessert is essentially a jelled almond flavored slightly sweetened milk, with whipped cream folded in, topped with fresh berries. We'd probably call it "white pudding" or "white cloud" or something like that in English.

Hope everyone has a great day.

Pancho

Hello everyone:

We are back. I have to tell you that my kids are such great travelers...I am so proud of them! We got into all kinds of traffic issues on our way to Branson. We left early on Thursday morning, and did not get into our hotel until late Friday night. On our way back, we left early on Tuesday (traveled for 16 hours), and made it from Branson, MO. to Grants, NM. I could not believe we made such great time. We then made it home yesterday in about 6 1/2 hours. It is always so nice to get back home (minus the unpacking, laundry, etc..).

The trip was a lot of fun. We went to a place called Silver Dollar City the first day there (it is an amusement park). We went to a water park the next day, and also went to an arena show called Dixie Stampede (a venue owned by Dolly Parton). It was so much fun for the girls though. They create some friendly rivalry (south against north) and split the arena into two sections. They then do some pig racing, ostrich racing, etc....they also bring people from the audience to compete for the north or south. They bring you your food to eat with your hands (no silverware). They served cornish hens, a half-baked potato, rolls with soup (to sip), corn on the cob, and an apple turnover. We also went to the World's largest toy museum and the Hollywood Wax museum. AND, COUNTRY....I TRIED MY FIRST FRIED GREEN TOMATOES at a local restaurant. They were good...reminded me of fried zucchini.

I was at 123# this morning, but am not surprised. I ate a lot of junk. I was so glad to eat a good meal last night (I made a baked chicken, baked potatoes and a large salad). So far today, I have had legal cereal w/ blueberries and soy milk, and a 5 oz container of cottage cheese, and a trail mix trader joe's bar.

Today will be pretty laid back while I finish laundry and clean up. Tomorrow will be errand day. I have to run to the lab to pick up my containers for my "samples." I also want to get to Trader Joes and another local grocer for a few things. Trader Joes has frozen buffalo burgers, and I want to get some of those. I also need to get the oil changed in the truck again. I had it changed a few days before we left, and I am now overdue for an oil change again. I think we drove about 2700-2800 miles.

A few replies:

Talitha: Britt is 7, and Lane will be 3 on Monday. Lane can wear the clothes that Britt is outgrowing now. Britt tried to put on a pair of her shorts from last year (size 5), and they still fit, although a little tight and too short. I told her to give them to Lane; they fit Lane perfectly. Britt has always been tall and very thin. Delaney is tall, but very thick. She is much bigger boned, and has some hips and thighs on her. She was born a month early, and almost weighed 8#'s; she hasn't slowed down at all. She is not fat either, just big. The pediatrician said that as long as her height is in line with her weight that they are not worried. She is at 100% for both height and weight. Whereas, Britt was always 90-100% for height, and 30-35% for weight. I can't imagine having to deal with a child's allergies that early on. We found out about a year ago that Britt is allergic to more than she isn't. She can't have dairy, wheat, corn, turkey, peanuts, cantaloupe, strawberries, beef....It goes on and on. I hear ya on the bra bargain...I used to be a 40DD.

Toni: In case I am not on the computer on Sunday.....HAPPY BIRTHDAY!!!

Ken: I cannot believe you are 30 weeks!!! Wow, time flies.

Tech: You may want to get some obedience training for your dog before he gets too big. We did that for our Golden Retriever when she was young, and she acted as if she could care less then, but I have noticed that she has retained it and is very easy to walk on a leash now....she is 4. She will heal and halt, and I can even walk her without the leash, on occasion.

Gator: I remember awhile back a few of us were posting our weight on Mondays to help keep us accountable on the weekends. I wanted to change our official weigh-in to Mondays....I think we'd all do better that way. Sorry you are having "issues" with your future son-in-law; I hope he took what you had to say to heart, and understands where you are coming from.

Teensy: I think sometimes we justify by saying that we have lost weight and we've earned "it." The problem is...it is far easier to put on than take off.

The kids are bugging me, so I gotta run. I'll try to catch up later.

Take care,
Nat

Fillisie- Good point. I don't know why I had to have it. I'm a chocoholic. I find it so hard to pass up chocolate. I'm so stressed out with my back, the finances, Jake's issues and trying to go on this vacation is just already wearing me out. When I'm really stressed out, I eat sweets, mainly chocolate. I just felt so out of control with everything. In the back of my head I think I deserve it.

I weighed in tonight and showed a 2 lb loss! It's nice to be off the plateau,

Talitha--I understand the temptation to think that chocolate fixes everything, but it ddn't fix anything did it. The next time you are tempted ask yourself: "what happens after I eat this?" Take yourself through it and see if you still want it. That's good news on the therapy! I hope it helps you.

Pnacho--Glad to see you back safely! I've never been to Branson--is it as crowded as they say it is? There is a Dixie Stampede in Myrtle Beach. I've passed it many times, but never been.

Gator--That's too bad about your workout place. I hope the new one works out. I'm leaving Satruday morning. I will visit my Mom and Dad and then the niece and I leave for NYC on Thursday. I should be home the 20th or 21st.

This--The sun finally came out here--just in time for the Dennis watch.

Tech--I don't like your predictions at all! Can you make it go back out to sea?

Thunder--We've all back slid a bit. I regained a bunch of weight. I finally bit the bullet and joined Weight Watchers in March. I follow SB guidelines, but WW gives me a little more flexability for all the traveling and eating out I do. So far it has worked and I've lost 20.5 lbs since I joined WW and 44 total. I'm still not at my all-time low.

Got to go find some supper now.

My house is finally ready to be cleaned. The painter and the drywall guy have finally finished their work at my house and I am so relief although there are dust and mess everywhere. However, I am not thrilled to do the cleaning part :(

Eating has been okay, not totally legal especially at dinner tonight. I went to Publix to get some stamps and decided that I don't want to cook anything tonight especially with the guys working in my house. I bought frozen dinners for Jess and I. I selected Marie Calendar's roast chicken dinner with steamed broccoli/carrots and mashed potatoes. It has 20 carbs and 6 grams of fiber. I didn't feel too guilty after eating it, pretty tasty..lol. Anyway, the rest of the menu for today were :

Breakfast : 1 ww waffle, scarmbled eggs and cheddar cheese and 1 cup of soymilk.

No snack.

Lunch : Spaghetti and meatballs and a mixed green salad.

Snack : None either.

Dinner : Frozen dinner.

Snack : Leftover mixed green salad.

Not a balance menu today especially since I didn't get my fruits in. Will work on that tomorrow.

Some replies :

TEENSY : So glad to see you back. Just focus on moving ahead and do the best you can from now on. You can do it!! I am so sorry about your dog, I hope "whatever" it is, is not life-threatening. {{{hugs}}}

SEBRAY : WTG on the water intake and exercise!!!

TALITHA : Congrats on the major lbs loss!! Awesome job! I never really have baby fever until Jess was much older. At that time, I was still "tramatized" by the whole parenting experience...lol and the morning sickness as well. I had to grow up very quickly with Jess and that sort of held me back from wanting another child so soon. Finally end of last year, I felt that I was ready to take another child into my wings plus Jess was quickly approaching 4 years old so we decided to TTC. I thought it would take about 1 year, like Jess but it took 1 month which was shocking to me. I know we are very fortunate to be able to conceive so early. This pregnancy has been so different...everything was so much milder especially the morning sickness and I felt more energized etc. I have no complaints whatsoever. Now that I am closer to delivery, I am feeling the "baby fever" more like I couldn't wait to hold my boy. I can feel his every movements so much and feel like I could physically touch him so it has been so wonderful. At the same time, I have my concerns for Jess after Jr arrives but I know all that would work out somehow.

TECH : I love pizza and could eat tons of them. You can definitely make legal pizza with the whole wheat crust available in the grocery store these days. I forgot what brand it is but heard it is not bad at all. Hoepfully one of these days, the pizza owner will come up with some ww pizza. Who knows? Thanks for your kind comforting words on my pizza lunch yesterday. I do not have problems on ocassional illegal pizza but lately I have had too many illegal carbs. It is definitely more than me and my baby needed. I could have chosen better choices...really but I didn't. When the guests were here, I really didn't eat too well and haven't recover completely...so i really need to work on that. I am also pre-diabetic so i really need to watch my carbs intake more than normal people especially during my pregnancy.

MONET : I haven't try chicken italian sausage before but would love to. I hope the Costco in Morrow carries them as well. Will check it out the next time I am there.

GATOR : I am so proud of you for resisting all the "illegal" temptations. WTG!!! Thanks for the recipe for the brick chicken. Sounds easy and yummy! Can I come over for your yummy french dinner tomorrow?? Sounds heavenly :)

BOB : Hello...hope the weather is much breezy for you today.

THIN : I live in Fayetteville and yesterday was an interesting day. The city closeby to us had a tornado touch down and we did have tornado warning as well but fortunately no actual tornado touchdown. Wheww! We did have very heavy rain accompanied by lighting and thunder. We lost power for few hours and that was the worst part. I am glad all that is over with for now.

FILLISE : Cindy brought lots of rain and tornado warning for us as well. I am glad she is out of the way now. Glad you are okay. Congrats on the 2 lbs loss, WTG!

THUNDERWOMEN : You are doing a good job getting back on track. Don't worry about the popcorn...you did great anyway :)

PANCHO : Welcome back!!! Your kids are indeed great travellers, infact I think they did better than I could as a grown women...lol. Kiss them for me. I heard of the Dixie Stampede, sounds like a great thing to do...a fantastic show and food, what more to ask...lol. Yep, 30 weeks already, I cannot believe it myself :)

Got to go...need to start cleaning tonight and continue the rest tomorrow. Goodnight all.

Hey everyone! Dinner tonight was not very good SB wise... I was teaching James' friend how to make shumai, and jaotze, so we made them, along with stir fried gai lon broccoli and penang beef curry. No rice tho...the shumai and jaotze wrappers were starch enough... I had a fair share of each of them and the wrappers are more like noodles, but made with enriched flour.

Yesterday morning, Tom found a bat in the pool. He fished it out and put it on the railing of the deck. It hung upside down off the edge of the deck all day yesterday and disappeared last night. I was so glad he seemed to be ok, but Tom found him on the ground this evening, and he doesn't seem able to fly. Poor thing. The cats of course are very interested in him and Tom had to chase one of them off to keep it from killing the bat. I wish there was some place we could take it where it would be cared for. They eat a TON of bugs...especially mosquitoes.

So, not much else going on around here.

PANCHO: I am glad you are home safe and sound! We missed you!

FILLISE: WOO HOO! Way to go on the loss!

TECH: I am enjoying your weather predictions....

GATOR:

TALITHA: Where are you going for vacation? Good news on the back!

THIN: I never thought that the cheese straws tasted like sausage balls! You could try it...if you do, let us know how it turns out! (I would leave off the butter, though!)

THUNDER: Aw, I am sorry that your hubby was not one to get evacuated. I can't believe your little one is almost three!

Ok! Off I go! Night all! Sweet dreams!

Hi Ya'll! I got my new issue of Woman's Day today and there was a neat article I wanted to share with you...I will just hit the high points!

How to Take it Off and Keep it off by the National Weight Control Registry -People who have lost at least 30 lbs and kept it off for more than a year.

20 proven strategies to help you lose weight.

1. Have a morning meal-78% of the people in the NWCR eat breakfast everyday.
2. Don't ban food groups-focus on calories and portion control
3. Vary healthy choices and limit unhealthy ones
4.Fill up on fiber.
5. Stick to it seven days a week- The average American eats an extra 115 calories a day on Friday, Saturday and Sunday.
6. Analyze your plate- Look at how much you are eating. Wrap up half of your meal for leftovers.
7. Avoid "Best selling" diets- Go for "flexible restraint"
8. Remove yourself from temptation-Stay in rooms where there is no food, etc.
9. Carry healthy snacks with you- Keep fruit etc with you for a snack instead of buying chips.
10. Splurge wisely- Limit how much you indulge.
11. Accumulate at least 200 minutes of exercise a week.
12-Split your workouts- 2 15 minute sessions or 3 10minute= 30 min per day
13. Don't count on exercise alone- Change your eating habits
14. Keep a journal
15. Time it right and ask for help- Start a program when other aspects of your life are under control and talk to friends and family for support.
16. Set lifestyle not weight goals- Aim to eat more fruit or exercise twice a week.
17. Adopt a long term mindset.
18. Start loving your body-Accept that you will never be a supermodel but you will be able to do things you couldn't before.
19. Monitor your weight.
20. Stick with it even after you reach your goal.

I thought most of these were good. I wonder if I can actually adopt some of these ideas?? There were some of them that my reaction was "well duh!"
I just thought it might be interesting! Good night see you later!

Okay...my new prediction is that Dennis is going to make a hard turn to the east and go out to sea. This is for Fillese, anyway...

Anyhow...I think I'm going to take a short break from the boards for a day or two. I'm 'royally' pissing people off on the UK thread because I got a little too opinionated about terrorists and putting them all on a space barge and shipping them off to Jupiter. Apparently, there are really people out there that think terrorists can be rehabilitated into being caring, loving people and some UK chicks are are now mad at me. Oh, well...I was just trying to support our UK friends and say kind of, "hey, we feel your pain". Darn it...I try so hard to keep my mouth shut about politics and every now and then I blurt something out and I inevitably get on the wrong side of someone. So, I'm taking a break for a bit because I just need to. I'll try to come on and check in soon...I just need to stop letting my blood pressure boil like I'm in one of Monet's pressure cookers. Some people just make me so mad  I just can't believe I let this stuff get into my home and make me so infuriated.

Hello ladies,

Just a drive by.......pretty down in the dumps right now.....the news from the vet was not good. Her tumor has grown back and doubled in size. It is so big inside that it is protruding outside. That is the lump that we can see. The thing that made it even worse is that he wouldn't give her the booster shots that she is due for. He said there was no need for them. He is putting her on the same pills that he put Bazal on when we found out about his prostate cancer. This won't heal but has been shown to slow down some cancers. It is worth a try, and it surely can't hurt. It just breaks my heart, to know that there is stuff growing inside her and I am helpless to do anything to stop it. I remember when we got her, she was 5 years old and so timid and shy. Mutual friends knew we were looking for another Bassethound, and these people were looking for a home for her. We think that she had been abused by a man, but it was a woman and her mother that brought her to us. She wouldn't have anything to do with Ted or the boys, and would cower if they were wearing their work boots or a baseball cap. (Probably been kicked, and swatted at..... you just wanted to cry when you saw her shiver and shake.) The first few days she would go outside and sit by the gate like she was waiting for her owners to come back and get her. (They were moving and couldn't take her to Utah with them....or so they said......their loss!!) It just broke my heart to watch her. Then when my Dad passed away, I spent over a month with my Mom, so she was home here with Ted. That was the best thing for the two of them. She came to love and trust him like she did me. Then slowly she succumbed to the boys......now she is just one big cuddle bug. She loves to have you lay next to her on the floor and she will cuddle up next to you and bury her head right in next to your neck. Oh you guys, I don't know if I can go through this again. With Bazal it was like losing one of my children. I cried for weeks, and have been all day. I am not going to get to replies......haven't even read the board today. Hope to feel better tomorrow........

Good Morning! I slept later this morning than I normally do, but Laura was up again...and is now in my shower. I feel like there is no peace, and I am so ready to have the house back to 'normal'!

I am tentatively planning on taking a walk this morning, but can't until I can get back into my bathroom to get dressed! :dizzy:

TEENSY: Aw, Colleen, I am SO sorry.... <<hugs>> I wish I knew something I could say to ease your sorrow.

TECH: Well, you haven't po'ed us yet...well, except maybe Fillise with that Dennis prediction, but that's ok. :lol3: I agree that terrorist ought to be sent on a slow barge to Jupiter. Just avoid the other board where you are ticking people off and stay with us who love you! :)

KENG: I hope that Costco is not discontinuing the chicken sausage, cause its really good! I like purchasing organic products when I can, and Costco has a few. I will look at the brand name on it, and let you know. Its NOT the kind that comes in the green wrapper, by the way. I have had some of that and its not as good.

THIN: Some of those are great suggestions, though I don't agree with a few! Like not eliminating some foods...eating sugar is never a good idea, even in small amounts, and white potatoes ALWAYS put me into a tailspin! Thanks for sharing them! Are you interested in a 'get together' ?

Ok, Laura is out of the shower, and my bathroom! I am going to try and get out of here for at least a short walk!

Talitha-Thanks SO MUCH for the link to the sermons on husbands. I listened to it and thought it was great. The BF asked me to send it to his e-mail so he could listen to it. Now, is there one for WIVES. It would be good for my DD to listen to.

Thin--Good suggestions. I guess you notice that my sig. is virtually #13.

Monet--Mmmm. "Money bags" (what I call hsiau mai) and dumplings (what I call chio tze) are a couple of my favs. When I have a Chinese food party, I often have all the fixin's to make hsiau mai and then get the guests to make them. Then I steam them and we stuff them down. Mmmmm. Makes me want to fix a Chinese meal, but right now is not a good time. Might get me off track. I weighed this morning (couldn't help it) and have lost my 1 pound goal for this week. However, we are having friends over for a small dinner party tonight and will be eating a tad bit more than normal. Also, will not be totally SB good tonight. However, Saturday and Sunday are two more days for staying OP. If I make goal on Monday, then next week I'll be going for down in the 160's again.

Teensy--My heart goes out to you. I DO understand your heart pain. It's like losing a blood relative when your dear pet goes. And they don't give you half the trouble your kids do!! They just exist to give you unconditional love, and don't complain or pout when you aren't perfect or doing exactly what they want. Please know that we are sending you a big hug.

Tech--Stick with us and just don't go on the UK board. I totally agree with you, except that I might be even more radical about it. Those people are pure evil incarnate, or even worse if there could be worse! They deserve slow torture in **** and I wish they could communicate with their cohorts to tell them how horrible it is to suffer in **** after they have gone there after blowing themselves to bits while taking innocents with them. I do not understand why the press doesn't make a huge deal about how horrible these terrorists are. They make a much bigger deal about Abu Garib (sp?) prison or Guantanimo and simply call the evil terrorists "insurgents", softening what they really are. If the world press and other media came out as strongly against the terrorists as they do against Bush, it might throw a bit of a monkey wrench into their plans to maim and kill civilians. OK, end of rant.

I did not walk my 10000 steps yesterday. Got about 8000 but was just feeling tired and like lead. I did work out (next week is the last week for my work out place) but took it easy the rest of the day. I feel a lot better today and actually walked about a mile with my DH this morning. Yesterday I took a few tastes of the dessert we are having tonight. Something made with whole milk, about 2 T sugar, almond extract, geletin and whipped cream. Kind of like an almond fluff. Anyway, after I licked the bowl, I felt rather yukky. I don't know if it was the pure fat from the cream, or just the little bit of sugar, or what, but I could have thrown up. Not like me. So my body, I guess, has gotten really happy with me eating so healthily.

Well, I have to run to the store. Have a few more things to get for tonight (berries for the dessert, eg. ) So will stop.

Oh, Tech, if Dennis took a sharp turn now it would cream the south of Fla. Maybe it could do a U-turn!! It is just sickening that we have to face another big storm. Those people in the panhandle still have debris on their beaches from last year!!

Good morning...

What a beautiful sunny day here but I know it is going to be super humid and hot today..in the 90's. I didn't sleep good last night because in the middle of the morning, my right side of my back starting to hurt....sort of dull pain and it was very uncomfortable. The first thing that came to mind was....am I in labor? Is it a back labor like I used to have with Jess? I started to pray and hope I don't have to wake my dh up to go to the emergency room plus which hospital do we go to? We don't even know the route to the hospital I am going to be delivered in...gosh, scary thoughts filled my mind and before I knew it, I fell asleep on the couch until 5am. When I woke up, the pain was gone and I went back to my room to sleep. I still feel a little "sore" spot on my back this morning but not terrible like this morning.

I have a lot of cleaning to do but I am going to take it easy because I don't want to inflict any pain on myself or worst...contractions (which I started to have the false ones about 2 weeks ago but only on an ocassional basis).

My FIL from FL wants to come visit us but he decided to come at the beginning of Aug which I really do not prefer. It is getting so close to my due date and if I deliver before the 40 weeks, it will be in Aug. I do not want to stop him from coming but I think that he will have to stay for 1 week only. He can be quite handful as I will need to clean and cook for him for that week so I am really not looking forward to do that when I am in my last month. Anyway...he is my FIL...and as long as he is not staying for 1 month like his last visit, we can still be "friends"...lol.

Alright, enough of rambling. My menu today,

Breakfast : 1 fried egg, 2 small sausages, 1 ww waffle and 1 cup of soymilk.

Snack : Cantelope.

Lunch : Pork tenderloin marinated in ginger-dressing sauce, pan-seared fennel and baked sweet potatoes.

Snack : Nuts and fruits.

Dinner : Might be leftover from lunch.

Snack : 1 ww bread with peanut butter. I tend to get hungry a lot at night these days.

Some replies :

MONET : The asian menu sounds so good. I love shui mai and better har kaw...yum! When I was young, I found a bat in my bed in the middle of the night...lol. I touched it by accident and felt it was cold. My sister and I decided to see what it was with a flashlight and as soon as the flashlight shone at him, he started to fly....all over the room. My sister and I ran out fo the room so quickly like we had seen a ghost...lol. After a while, we went back into our room and the bat was gone. That was scary...lol.

THIN : Thanks for the tips from Women's Day. Sounds very realistic and true.

TECH : There is no need to stay away from this board...we love having you here :) I do not like to get into politics and don't like discussing about it either. Don't think I can handle such depressing issue :(

TEENSY : {{{{{hugs}}}}} I am so sorry that you are going thru this again. I don't know what to say to make you feel better but I am going to keep you and your precious dog in my prayers.

MONET : Please do let me know what brand the chicken sausage is. I would love to try it.

GATOR : Good day!!

Julia

Hi everyone,

Just wanted to say good morning everyone. I have stayed on track with my eating since yesterday I am glad to say. Had 1/3 cup of oatmeal with fresh blueberries and 2 oz of sausage for breakfast....Had a large salad with grilled chicken breast for lunch...4 slices of canalope for snack....Had turkey spagetti sauce w/ 1/2 cup angel hair legal pasta and fresh butterbeans and half a foot long cucumber...for supper. Ate trisquits in between when I got the munchies. And an apple. And 3 half gallons mugs of water. So far today I have had...2 eggs scrambled with salsa 3 strips turkey bacon(the nastiest turkey bacon I have ever eaten and will not buy again it was Jennie O I like butterball turkey bacon best) and a piece of cheese toast.
Hope everyone has a wonderful day.

Good Friday Morning:

The weekend is upon us...let's make a challenge to be OP this weekend!!! I know I am making Turkey burgers tonight, and Taco Salads tomorrow, but am not sure yet what I will be making on Sunday. It will be legal though.

I was at 122# this morning, so I am on my way back down. TOM is lurking in the very near future too (maybe tomorrow).

I booked a massage appt. for tomorrow a.m. at my gym. I got 4 free 1-hour massages for re-joining. It is a Swedish one though; I am hoping I can upgrade to a deep tissue. I have a back injury from about 15 years ago, and all those hours in the car, and Lane wanting me to hold her non-stop during the trip, did a number on my back. My whole body is sore, actually.

I had a good filling breakfast (2 slices Ezekial bread w/ smart balance and peanut butter & Lite 85 yogurt). I'll make myself eat a snack in a few hours, and then that will definately get me through until lunch.

I will be making Lane's Dora cake this weekend, and getting her presents wrapped. On Monday, after swim lesssons, I will take Britt and Lane to Build-A-Bear Workshop and let them make a bear and pick out an outfit for it. We will then have Lane's little party when DH gets home from work on Monday evening.

Next week, Lane and Britt start their new classes at the community center (Pom & Cheer for Britt, and Tumbling for both girls). I have my Mom's Night Out next Wednesday; it is a new member mixer at Fuddrucker's. I will get the buffalo or ostrich burger, and eat only half the bun with lots of salad, and get no dessert.

Thin: I sure hope you can get Sean's headaches under control before school. School is tough enough without having to deal with something like that; poor little guy!! Thanks for those tips....some of them were pretty obvious, but there were a lot that weren't. It's funny how "educated" we have all become. I laugh when I hear a nutritionist telling someone that they really should stop eating bagels and cream cheese every day for BF, and cut out the whole milk, etc....some people really have no clue. I read an article lately regarding people who have lost weight and kept it off, and one of the things they mentioned is that those people NEVER allowed themselves a cheat day until they met their goal. It's too easy to get side-tracked. I love #18....I used to have such a flat hard tummy, and a toned body. I am getting the tone back in most of my body, but my tummy is history...any fat that I have is there, as well as loose skin and stretch marks....yuck! BUT, I never was a model and have no intentions of becoming one. I want to look and feel the best that I can, and that is good for me.

Talitha: I sure hope you can stay away from surgery. Maybe this therapist will have you on the mend soon. Good luck. Strengthening your back can only help.

Gator: Sorry to hear about your gym closing :( . I don't know what I'd do if my gym closed. I love going there because it is only women. It is bigger than a lot of co-ed gyms, but I love the comfort of not having the men around. I know I get a better workout that way. They have massages, facials, permanent cosmetics, tanning beds, pools, jacuzzis, showers, tons of state-of-the-art equipment, as well as a ton of different classes. Gosh, it sounds like I'm selling it to you, hun? :D . I hope you will find one that you like as much as the one that is closing. I hope you enjoyed your company!!

Fillise: I am so glad your plateau broke and you were able to see a loss. You are back on a roll. The traffic in Branson was pretty bad, but once you learned the back roads, it wasn't so bad. The amusement park and water park weren't really busy. The Dixie Stampede show was soldout, which surprised me since it was at 8:00 on the 4th of July; I thought everyone would be out watching fireworks. The show was a very patriotic show, so it was perfect for the 4th. The horses were some of the most beautiful I've ever seen, and the costumes were unbelievable. I saw a similar show in Vegas, but it didn't even compare to this one. It was a bit pricey, but worth it when you consider your dinner is included. When we walked out from the show, there were fireworks going off in so many directions; we just sat in the truck and watched them all. It was a fabulous way to end the vacation.

Ken: YOU EATING A FROZEN DINNER????? ;) . You must be pregnant and tired  . You dinners always sound like a chef prepared them. I am sure with all the remodeling and with your due date approaching, Jess senses all of this, and may act out quite a lot during the next few months. I hope you just pulled a muscle, and that you are not going to have back labor....I had it with both girls and it is so very painful. If you had it with Jess, you may very well have it with Jr. too. Rest and take care of yourself.

Monet: Send the bat this way....we have so many mosquitos this year! I sure hope he is o.k. I'm sure there is a service you can call. I used to work on the 20th (top) floor of a highrise in downtown Phoenix. We used to have bats fly through the office on occasion. It was funny....anytime you would hear a woman in the office scream, you knew there was a bat flying around somewhere  . One of the janitors in the building lived out of town a bit, and would take them with him and release them out by his home. This was an international company I worked for and we had beautiful offices; we had other offices in CA, NY, and London. It was terrible everytime we had important clients flying in from other countries, we had to all just cross our fingers that a bat wouldn't come flying through the conference room. It was a hoot.

Tech: Breathe!!!! Don't let "these" people keep you from visiting with us. We love you!

Teensy: I am soooo sorry to hear about your dear dog. Your post made me cry. Dogs are so loyal, even when abused or treated poorly. They'll lick the hand that beats them. I know I told you that we lost 2 dogs within four months of one another, so I do know what you are going through. Nothing makes it any easier. Just love her all that you can while you have her, and know that she has a companion waiting to meet her at the rainbow bridge.

Thunder: You have been eating so well; keep up the good work. Don't you feel better when you have an eating day like you did yesterday? I have some Jennie-O turkey bacon in my fridge that I haven't tried yet....I guess I'll be in no hurry to try it. What made it bad..the texture, taste?

Well, the kids are getting anxious to do something, so I gott go.

Take care, and have a great OP day.

Just a fly by...I just got in from my volunteer stint at the church office. I grabbed a handful of macadamias to shut my stomach up and will find something more satisfying for lunch in a bit. :)

The price of gas jumped about 20 cents yesterday, because of the terrorist attacks in London. Can someone explain that to me? Of course my tank is at 1/4, so I am going to end up paying a ridiculous price for it.

Hi all,

Pancho-It has no taste until you swollow it and then I don't know how to explain it but it has the nastiest taste made me ill when I swollowed it. How are you so good to see you still here. Good luck with the Dora cake. I will be haveing to have one August the 18th thats when Ashley turns 3. My 7 yr old has requested another Barbie Doll cake so I have a few more months to get it together. I have to get another Pampered chef mixing bowl, I broke my other one. It makes the Barbie Dress. I made it 3 yrs in a row and got pretty good with it.

GatorGal-Hi there good luck on the meal.

Monet-Its really weird when something happens in another country and we get the bill for it. Hope you have a great day.

kengjw-Congrats on the pregnancy...I got pregnant when I lost 60 lbs on SB. I was 39 and had no idea I would ever get preg. again. But the weight loss helped...lol I turned 43 in March and my baby will be 3 in Aug. Time sure does fly. Take it easy now.

TeensyBean-Hi. So sorry to hear about your pet I know what you mean. We now have parrakeets and they are a mess. I had to give away a kitty of mine a few years back because I got allergic to cats and I cryed for weeks. She slept with me and I really loved her. It is like losing a child. My oldest girl lost a puppy a few months back and she mourned for a month. Hope you have a good day dear.

techwife-You stick with this board. We don't want you to go anywhere else. We all need each other. Have a great day.

thinwithin225-Like that article you posted so very true.

Bob-Wheres Bob. Hope your safe.

Hope everyone has a wonderful SB day! :balloons:

Okay...I went grocery shopping, cleaned out my fridge and I feel better now that I have a fridge full of legal fare and no science projects. I promised I wasn't going to talk politics again, but I just have to say thanks to you guys for making me feel like I'm NOT braindamaged for thinking that terrorists purely diabolical and do not belong on this planet. Subhumans...insects...sorry, that's insultive to insects  ...scurge of humanity...you get my drift. Anyhow...I'll never talk politics again...if I could do it during the 2004 election process, I can do it anytime!!

That being said...here's my latest prediction for Dennis. Although he's nearing cat 5 status, I still think the water in the Gulf is too cool this time of year to support that kind of storm. I think he'll drop to maybe cat 3 before making landfall...sorry to say...Pensacola-ish. All's I can say is that it must be one friggen beautiful place to live the rest of the year, because after last season, I'd have high tailed it outta there and moved to Nebraska!! Well, then I'd have to worry about tornadoes, so maybe right where I am right now parked safe and sound next to Canada :smug: There's that house for sale still next door to me if any of you gals want a cheap house out of hurricane alley!! ;) Anyhow...I thought for a while last night that Dennis looked like he was taking a turn to the East and might just flake off to sea, but now he's going more West again, so continue to batten down that hatches!! I think that Cuba is going to get the brunt of this storm...if he continues to go diagonally across the island, the mountains will tear up the eye and weaken him, so that's good news for us...really bad news for Cubans. :(

For breakfast today I had coffee. I had nothing in the fridge...literally...and decided that skipping was better than a Spongebob pop tart. I'm making up for it with ham and swiss with mayo on fresh-baked ww bread, half an orange and a peach and a plum. Which reminds me...I got a game for the kids called Scrambled States of America and to make a long story short (which is always hard for me to do), I did not know that the nickname for Georgia was the Empire State of the South! I guess I just assumed it involved peaches in some way. Learn something new everyday...

Colleen: I'm so sorry for you with your dog. :grouphug: Sometimes I wish life came with a remote control so we could fast forward through the yucky parts of life... :(

Nat: Those massages sound wonderful!! You know, I read a post of yours, I think it was yours, anyway...about Britt having a friend over and she told Britt that she talked too much and was annoying. :( My heart went out to you and Britt, but mostly to you because I'm sure Britt hardly noticed it as an offhanded insult. All's I can say is get used to it, unfortunately. It breaks your heart to see your little one have anything other than raving reviews from everyone she meets, but as she gets older and especially when she gets into grade school, she's bound to come across some kids she doesn't get along with and will probably come home in tears when someone hurts her feelings, but she'll also learn how to deal with it and let it roll off her and learn to hang around with people she naturally gels with. But it's a hard section of the growing up process for both the kids AND the parents to go through. I feel for ya...

Thunder: You're menu sounds wonderful!! You're doing GREAT!! Next time with the oatmeal, try putting the blueberries in the oatmeal and add some walnuts!! It's what I call my 'deluxe' oatmeal. Soooo good!!

Julia: Was it you that had the little kid insult your daughter? I can't remember...if it was you, refer to my reply to Nat above. I hope your back feels better soon. Father in law? No way...mother in law would be nice to have around when you go into labor, but another man to wait on hand and foot is really not a good thing in your condition. Unless he's there to help, then he has to just spread out and give you some space

Gator: Thanks for making me feel better about my altercations with the UK Chicks. Gawd...I'm not going to THEIR thread again anytime soon, that's for sure!! Gee Whiz!! I kind of thought that it was a universal thought amongst liberals and conservatives alike that terrorists are at the very least, bad guys. The UK chicks that got mad at me acted like I was the most uncaring, unempathetic, arrogant jerk for calling terrorists sub-humans. And then it got all into the war in Iraq and I don't even want to get into it. I couldn't fall asleep until after 3am this morning I was so mad. That's why I thought maybe I shouldn't be on the forum anymore because whenever I have altercations with someone about something I've said that's slightly politically incorrect, I get mad at myself for allowing virtual strangers to make me so angry. Anyhow...after today, I'm never talking politics or religion again...it's just never a good idea because a lot of people are really passionate about their opinions and it gets sticky fast when people clash. Anyhow...thanks for making me feel better. You rule!! ;)

Thanks, Monet and everyone else! I love you guys, too!! ;) And I'll never stray further than my own backyard...or forum thread.

Okay, I'm off to go get a check up on Dennis. I feel so bad for you guys down there...especially the poor folks in Pensacola and the panhandle area. Gawd...don't forget the house next door to me...we NEVER get hurricanes here...just 30 below zero for weeks at a time...which will only kill you if you try to sunbathe in it for a while. And subzero temps never, ever peeled the roof of anyone's house!!

Okay...I'm really going now. Tomorrow is French Festival and the day the parade goes right by my house. I'll try and take pictures to show you that it literally goes about 20 feet from my front door. All we have to do is bring out the patio furniture to the sidewalk and enjoy the show!! And throw things at the guy that dresses as Napolean...only in Cape Vincent do people celebrate that an evil dictator wanted to live here and throw a parade in his honor. I'd rather celebrate that Viggo Mortensen's (Aragorn in LOTR...in case you forgot) father lives around the corner and that his mother lives in the next town. That's a way cooler piece of local lore than Napolean!! If I don't talk to yous guys, have a great weekend...I'll send pictures!!

Kris...who has gotten her blood pressure cooled down, thank you very much... :smug:

Just dropping in to say hello to al you Sb Chicks! I know it's been a while. I have totally failed in all my attempts to loss all these previously lost 60 lbs of mine which have all come back except for 20 lbs. Makes me sick to think about it. No excuse except that a lot has happened in my life during the past 2 years & I just quit trying.

Last time I checked in I was tryimg WW which seemed like a good idea. I lost 5 lbs initially, couldn't seem to get to the meetings & gave up. My cholesterol did come down some but the freedom of eating sweets just sent in into a craze & it has gotten totally out of hand. Have been doing allot of stress eating.

Then I had surgery last week for a torn rotator cuff & nerve impengement so now I can't do much of anything. I heard from Thunderwoman a few days ago saying she has returned to SB WOE so I've been popping in to read the posts since I have so much time on my hands. Problem is my right arm is in a sling & I can't type too well with my left so I may not do many replies right now. I am going to try to check in daily & hope to get some incentive to get back on track. I really need to find my book & read it again cover to cover as it's been so long.

I see some new names & glad to see some true & stable ones still here.

Good afternoon:

We just got in from running errands (lab, Trader Joes, Bashas...that's a grocery store).

I also finished off a great lunch...so far today, I have had:
BF: two slices of Ezekial bread w/smart balance & PB, Lite 85 yogurt
Snack: a few peanut M&M's, banana
Lunch: Peppered turkey, peppered cheese, red onions, tomatoes, lettuce and mustart on whole grain bakery bread, and cottage cheese and green tea sweetened w/ splenda.
I have definately exceeded my starches for the day, but I won't eat a bun with my turkey burger tonight, just a salad.

I guess summer is officially here...it is supposed to be 115 a few days next week.

I had to tell you a funny story about when we were at the Dixie Stampede show. It is in a big arena, and we were toward the top. They told me on the phone that we would get front row tickets, and then put us up in a higher spot (I ended up getting a $46 refund), but that's not the story. O.K., anyhow, Lane (who is almost 3) sat on my lap almost the entire time so she could see better. There was one point in the show when they brought out these little bitty pigs to do some pig races. She thought they were so darn cute. When they were finished with them, she started to cry. I told her not to cry and that maybe they'd bring them out again later. She stopped crying, got off my lap and told me she would be right back. I asked her what she was doing. She said, "I'm going to go down there and tell them to bring those pigs back out now!" It was so funny. She planned on hiking all the way down the arena to tell them that. I'm sure they would change the entire layout of the show just for her  . Kids are so cute sometimes.

Monet: What are gas prices there? I was amazed how low they were on our trip through OK, AR & MO....we saw some prices as low as $2.05; we are at $2.35 here. It's ridiculous. I am not sure that our prices have gone up due to the terrorist incident or not....I know they are higher than when we went on vacation, by about .10. I didn't need gas until yesterday, and that's when I noticed it was up to $2.35.....gheez!

Thunder: Maybe I should just throw that turkey bacon away...doesn't sound too appealing to me. I have had it for a few weeks, and can't seem to talk myself into trying it. Your children are the same ages as mine...I have two girls, ages 3 & 7. Lane will be 3 on Monday, and Britt turned 7 in March. I've seen those Barbie cakes; looks like a challenge to me. Do you buy the body at the party store?

Tech: Science projects? I just had to throw out my sprouted grain muffins this morning; they grew mold when we were away. I hope you feel better to vent and get that off your chest; I can't imagine anyone feeling any other way ;) . It was Britt's freind's sister (who is 5) who said that to Lane (who is almost 3). It is sad, and I do know that it doesn't always get better. In Kindergarten, there was this little girl who didn't like Britt from the get-go. She would laugh at her when she was drawing on the white board, she would leave her out on the playground, etc...There was a time in circle time in class that she named all the girls in her class as her friends and purposely didn't name Britt. The teacher said, "and Brittany." And she said, "No." The teacher had to take her outside; I guess that was a daily thing with her...she didn't have a kind bone in her body. She actually would turn up her nose to Brittany (at the age of 5 or 6). It was pathetic! There was a time that I was with Britt and she passed by this little girl named Lauren, and she said hello to her, and the girl didn't even acknowledge her. I said to Brittany, "You do not have to go out of your way to say hi to her." Brittany's comment to me was, "Jesus wouldn't want me to be mean to her just because she is mean to me." It brought tears to my eyes...what maturity at such a early age. I was thankful that the parents took their daughter out of that school after that kindergarten year. Britt's 1st grade was awesome; all the girls in class wanted to be her friend, and a few of the boys even had "crushes" on her. There are so many lessons to be learned at such an early age. Enjoy the parade!!

Melf: Is that you???? It's so good to "see" you again! That was my problem with WW; I made a lot of poor choices, and would rack my points up with empty calories and not healthy ones. Fillise is doing well combining WW with SB. I hope you feel better soon. Any posting that you can do is appreciated. It's nice to know that you are still alive and well!!!

Well, I told the girls I would make them strawberry, banana orange juice slushies, so I better go do it.

Have a great weekend.

I forgot to add my Friday Funny, so here goes.......

Yearly Physical:

An older man goes in for his yearly physcial, with his wife tagging along.

The doctor enters the examination room and says, "I will need a urine sample, a stool sample and a sperm sample."

The old man, being hard of hearing, turns to his wife and asks, "what did he say?"

The wife yells back to him, "GIVE HIM YOUR UNDERWEAR!"

Hi all,

Pancho-You mix up any flavor cake mix that they want and I spray bakers delight into the pampered chef bowl...reserving enough of the batter to fill a round cake pan....and before you pour the batter into the bowl you have to put a cardboard tube like off paper towels into the middle of the bowl. Pour the batter into the bowl around the tube and bake the cake in the bowl. The bowl is specially made for baking in. Also bake the round cake pan at the same time. Let cool completly and then put the round base on a cake plate and take the tube out of the cooled cake in the bowl and invert the bowl cake over the base...Get a new barbie and take off its clothes and insert it into the hole in the middle of the cake. I take the barbies hair and put it up with a hair clippy...Then I take cake icing in whatever color she wants it and cover the barbie up to and under its armpits....Looks so cute when you do the iceing dress...then I decorate it with whatever she wants on it. I am also going to throw that nasty Jennie O turkey bacon out...I refuse to eat another bite. I am going to church campmeeting tonite and am going back to Super walmart and see if I can find some butterball turkey bacon. ;)

Nat: Shelley had a girl in her first grade class that was just like that girl. We had just moved here from Rochester and this little girl would pick on my DD relentlessly...not in a fun way, but in a malicious way. They would line up for something and Stephanie would sneer at her and say, "You don't belong here." Creepy kid. She, too, moved away before first grade was over and I thought, 'Good ridance!!' It's been smooth sailing ever since, with just a few clashes here and there...there are only 14 kids in Shelley's class and they've become like brothers and sisters...complete with attitude. It's like they're almost too used to each other...next year starts junior high and Shelley will be going into it with great people skills, knowing how to handle crappy, mean kids like a professional...but, man oh man, is it hard to watch your kids have to learn these things the hard way... :^:

GOOD LATE AFTERNOON AND EARLY EVENING ALL YOU BUSTIN BUDDYS!

The first of the FEEDER BANDS are getting ready to come through! It's almost dark outside! http://bestsmileys.com/storms/9.gif
The storm will be about 185 miles off shore when it passes here. We're supposed to have TROPICAL FORCE WIND AND RAIN TOMORROW!!! I see the wind is picking up now as we speak! http://bestsmileys.com/weather/3.gif

GATOR...I don't think y'all will get much of this one...maybe some rain, but nothing like we're supposed to have. BUT..who knows...we may not get anything...I never turn down rain..we're heading into FIRE SEASON and we need all we can get! http://bestsmileys.com/weather/1.gif

THUNDER....HERE I AM  MAN...I can't believe that ASHLEY will be 3 yrs old! We all went through that pregnancy and delivery didn't we?

MELF.... Good to see you..sorry about your shoulder, but you'll be good as new before you know it!

NAT...BOB'S feelings are hurt...you've ignored me for two days!!! http://bestsmileys.com/moody/5.gif Glad you had a good time on your trip...http://bestsmileys.com/horses1/25.gif

KRIS...keep us updated...you're better than the WEATHER CHANNEL!!

MONET...our gas went from 2.21 to 2.29 and I've also seen up to 2.39 for regular unleaded! I think ours is from the storm which they aren't supposed to do.

I was in the kitchen thinking about getting dinner started, when it occured to me that I hadn't posted a personal post to BOB, so I ran in the office and booted up the computer just to send all my love your way for the weekend, BOB! . I hope you have a great weekend and don't get too many heavy winds or too awful much rain.

Tech: I just want to know how kids that young can learn to be so hateful. My DD didn't have a mean bone in her body when she entered kindergarten; she still is the one to take anyone/everyone under her wing and take care of them. I did meet the girl's (Lauren) mother and I think the saying "the apple doesn't fall far from the tree," may apply here. If my child treated anyone that way and I found out about it, they would never mistreat anyone again! The teacher talked to her parents during conferences and it didn't change a thing. I'm glad Shelley is better prepared to handle those types of people now that she is entering junior high. I pray she never has to use those skills, but, unfortunately, she probably will have to at some point. Enjoy your weekend.

Thunder: That doesn't sound too complicated; it actually sounds fun. You'll have to post a picture once you decorate it so we can see how it turns out. Have a fun weekend!

Take care,
Nat

I've got the last load of clothes in the machine and am ready to start throwing things into the suitcase. Getting out of here just in time. Looks like Dennis is headed straight for us. I'm thinking it will be Ivanish in strength, though it could be a little stronger. I've got a friend to check on the house after the storm, otherwise Belle and I are outta here first thing in the morning!

I hope everyone has a good week!

BOB--stay inside tomorrow! Hope you got some good movies to see you through the weekend.

Melf--Great to hear from you!!!! Sorry to hear about your surgery. Even if you can't type, come bask in our love!

Tech--I specifically said to send the storm AWAY from here! I get so miffed when people don't follow simple instructions! ;) It is beautiful on the coast--and really, we can go for 20 or 30 years with no big storms, then all of a sudden it is like you have a bullseye over your head. Sheesh.

Pancho--It's a great feeling to have the fridge all stocked with good healthy foods! Enjoy that massage.

Thunder--I've done one of those Barbie Cakes--it was "middle-aged" barbie for a friend's 40th birthday. She had saggy ta-ta's and gray hair, a thick waist and wrinkles. Myfrind was not amused--which was the point!

Monet--Where have you been today?

Everyone else--I'll try to check in next week as I can.

See you soon!

Here I am...exhausted, and stressed, but here. :) I spent the afternoon with James' friend from Ohio, taking her around to some stores with me, and teaching her to knit. I got more yarn and needles and started a baby blanket for a friend's baby shower at the end of the month. I hope I can get it done!

James' friend leaves tomorrow afternoon. Next week, I will have more free time to get stuff done, and get on here more.

Laura and a friend painted this afternoon, and got most of the bathroom at least primed, so we will be able to finish it up in a few days. I am getting heartily sick of all the unfinished projects, laundry and all the chaos around here. :(

Dinner tonight was fresh from the garden green beans steamed with sesame oil and sea salt, and sole fillets pan seared with garlic and ginger. I snacked on some nuts too. Oh, and I found a diet 7-Up with a bit of fruit juice and sweetened with Splenda at the store today. Its ok, but I would rather have straight 7-Up with Splenda...

MELF: Good to see you! I sure hope your shoulder heals quickly. You know SB works, we will send BOB around with the wagon. Hop and and stay with us!

THUNDER: I made Barbie cakes sometimes...but I always use my magic mold pan. It is like a half of a football and is very versatile. I use it for doll cakes, a money bag, a dinosaur, a turtle, a baby bassinet, a flower basket, etc. :) Cake 'sculpture' is one of my favorite kinds of cake to make.

FILLISE: Have fun! Be careful! We will miss you!

BOB: How are you feeling?

PANCHO: I think kids who are mean like that usually do it because they are very insecure. Like that girl who always left Britt out...she probably was jealous of Britt, and to feel good about herself, would put Britt down. How wonderful that Brittany has a desire to treat others in a Christ like manner... that kind of an attitude will help her handle whatever comes her way.

TECH: I am glad you decided to stick with us. One thing I love about this group is that we don't always agree, but that seems to be ok. And everyone seems to treat everyone else with respect... Makes MY job easy! ;)

KENG: You need to sit your hubby down and let him know you will be in no condition to wait on his father in August! And if you start waiting on him, I may have to come down there and lay down a few laws....

I am going to go knit. I am having so much fun! I think I need my head examined!

Hey! We went to our favorite mexican restaurant tonight and I had only a few of their tortilla chips. I ordered the fajitas and took in my own tortillas. I could have done better, but at least I did not order my usual favorite with the rice and all. They served the fajitas with beans but no rice. And of course I had all the lettuce, tomatoes, and peppers that come with them so I got in some veggies too. Maybe next time I can do even better! I did have one downfall today, I had a small slice of MIL homemade pound cake. I just couldn't resist! :nono: I have had more water today than usual and now I am drinking a cup of hot lemon ginseng green tea. I bought a variety pack at the store the other day and have tried the orange jasmine and now the lemon. They're pretty good! :coffee: Well, I better get off now and head for bed!

Good Sat morning...

I have just finished my breakfast and I feel like I can still eat more...lol. No...not starving myself and the baby but I know I am eating enough...just some unnecessary cravings :) Snack shouldn't be too far away...lol.

My house is almost back to its clean self...clean enough to live in that's...lol. Nothing much planned for today except maybe a trip to the library and grocery shopping later. I need to do more cleaning and tidying of the house as well.

My menu for today :

Breakfast : Open-faced chicken sandwich on ww bread and 1 cup of soymilk.

Snack : Cantelope and maybe nuts.

Lunch : Leftover from yesterday....pork tenderloin, sauteed fennel and some low carb potatoes.

Snack : Not sure...I am almost out of fruits. Maybe a cup of soymilk with some nuts.

Dinner : Not exactly sure but will depend on my grocery shopping trip.

Some replies :

THUNDER : You are doing great with your menu meal choices...WTG! I have tried turkey bacon once but don't remember the brand name and aftert he first bite, I had to throw the whole package away. The texture was really weird. I have not dare to try any turkey bacon since...lol. Will probably try butterball brand soon.

PANCHO : LOL.....I do enjoy a good frozen TV dinner once in a while. Something about not having to cook appeal to me especially when I don't feel like cooking. I like Marie Calendar's products and Boston Market as well. My menus sound more gourmet than they really are...lol. Yes, I had a back labor with Jess and am preparing myself for another one. Not fun....oh well, who says delivery is fun...lol. Oh my, 115 is hot...how do you and your family cope with it? At 90's now, I am already cpmplaining, shame on me. LOL at your dd, she is so cute. Kid's mind is so simple and innocent, that is why I love them so much. I bet they would bring out the little pigs if she really went down to tell them. Who can resist a cute little girl...lol.

TECH : Never say never! There is nothing wrong in talking politics....I just rather talk about something else...lol. Glad you are here with us...chat away! Oh my, have you ever thought of being a weather girl?. You are good at it!! lol. No...I believe my dd started the fight at school, she was the insulter...lol. I think she felt rejected when the boy didn't want her to be near him. I really don't know what actually went on (although I have got versions of it from school) but I know Jess has a kind and WAY too loving heart. She wants to hug and kiss everyone.

MELF : Good to see you!! Hope your recovery is speedy and smooth.

BOB : Stay safe and dry. Keep us posted on the weather.

FILLISE : Have a good trip!

MONET : I keep reminding myself, he is my FIl, my FIL...lol. I will call you if the situation gets tough so you can talk to my FIL...lol.

THIN : Yes, we can always do better but your "performance" at the Mexican restaurant was fantastic!!! I could not have done it any better. WTG in thinking ahead by bringing your own tortillas. Few chips won't hurt, I would be concerned about it only if the chips sets you in binging that lasted a while. You did very well.

Got to go...time to take dd to library. I know we might get rain in next week which will depend on Dennis, so I better take dd to the library now before we can't.

Hows everyone this morning. Boy Dennis is getting bad isn't it. I did good yesterday until last nite. Menu for yesterday.

1/2cup orange juice
2 scrambled eggs w/salsa, 3 slices nasty Jennie O Turkey bacon, 1 slice cheese toast

Lunch-leftover turkey spagetti sauce w/1/3 cup angel hair spagetti, and fresh butterbeans

one apple and some trisquits with cheese and a few straws turkey spam

Supper is where I bonged-One tender crisp chicken sand., 12 ff and my first diet coke in 4 days.

I drank a gallon of water

I am not going to bong again.

Bob-yes you and the other ladies that were on this board at the time including Deb went thru my pregnancy with me. You talk about a active little toot...shes a very busy girl... So glad your ok and buckle down for those winds.

kengjw-Thank you. That turkey bacon sounds just like the brand I have in my fridge that I have yet to throw out. I am in a little bit tho. Feed it to the dogs next door :s: The butterball ball brand is great.

Monet-I love doing the barbie cake its lots of fun. I have to get my mom to keep her while I do it because she will not stay out of the kitchen...lol I will get my hubby to take a picture of it this year and get it posted so you all can see it.

Fillise-LOL..Now that sounds like a very funny cake. Wish I could have saw it. I bet it was cute.

Pancho-it is fun and turns out so cute. I will get hubby to take a picture when I make it in Nov. and get it posted so everyone can see it.

To everyone I didn't get to you all have a great day! :balloons:

Sonya...I like to cook turkey bacon in a frying pan with some olive oil and cook it till it's good an crispy. It's still not quite an acceptable substitute for real bacon, but when you're counting calories...

Okay...one more update on Dennis the Menace. I found a looping satellite image I'll try and post here... dennis radar loop (http://www.ssd.noaa.gov/PS/TROP/DATA/RT/float-vis-loop.html) ...which shows the storm making a straight line right towards the Biloxi/Mobile area. BUT, most storms take a curve to the right as cold fronts descend on them from the North, and there is a weak front coming in on Dennis, which may push him off to the panhandle area. Dennis looks to be a rather big storm and his hurricane-force winds are going to be reaching far from the eye...so most everyone from New Orleans over to about Naples Florida is in for a crappy weekend, to say the least!!

That being said, I'm in with you guys being affected by tropical weather. Today is French Festival and here sits the remnants of CINDY on us, raining like a bugger!! The parade starts at 2pm and the radar here looks as though the last of the rain is coming through right now, so hopefully, it'll stop raining before the parade starts at least. BUT, the rain didn't stop me from getting my hands on a highly illegal French Pastry...a cream puff to be exact!! :o Hey, it happens once a year and as long as my size 12's are still on...tomorrow, it's back to business!! I've been saying that for at least two weeks... :^:

Okay...off to get ready for my mom and dad to get here and to bring out the lawn chairs!!

Hi there ladies...man it ihas been years since I have been on this part of the boards it seems...I have a quick question .... Can you have watermelon on this WOE now???
I am doing a cross between this and south beach and SB and needed to know if about 1/2 cup of melon is acceptable. Thanks ladies :D

It's good to be back among you all too. Haven't located my book yet. May have to send someone to the library Mon. Trying to watch what I'm eatinf but when I'm alone it's really hard.

Watching the weather channel & praying for all you FL & Gulf Coast gals. Being A LA Gulf Coast gal myself I'm well aware of the danger of these storms. Looks like we'll be in the clear this time unless Dennis decides to take a more westerly turn which is not expected. Stay safe & dry! BOB are you still hanging in there??

Christian: It is pretty slow around here on the weekends, so I thought I'd jump on and answer your question. NO, watermelon is still not allowed on SB; I'm not sure why since it has such a high % of water. I know the GI is high. Any other melon is fine though. I'm not sure what your goals are or if you are trying to be 100%, but I can't imagine 1/2 cup of watermelon hurting too much, if it is an occasional treat....it's better than a lot of other alternatives. How is SOBE & SB different enough to combine the two? I never read the book, but thought is was just like SB once you got past the first phase.

Have a great rest of your weekend.

Gotta run and get the kids a snack.

I'm thinking of and praying for all of you that are anywhere near Dennis!!! (((((HUGS))))).

Hey everyone! Sorry I have been MIA today. Lots going on. James' friend left today. Its a long story.... A young couple from church came over today to swim and brought their nine month old. I enjoyed visiting with them. They ended up staying for lunch. So here is my menu so far today: Breakfast: an avocado and a few macadamias, Lunch: Tuna salad with olive tapenade, and lettuce, Pepsi One with splenda Snack: Pistachio nuts, and another Pepsi One. Not sure what dinner will be, but I ought to figure it out, seeing that it is after six! Tom is out mowing before it starts raining. Its gotten gray and overcast rather quickly.

I am finally doing laundry! Tom has not reconnected the hot water to the washer, so I am using Cold Water Tide. I sure hope it works well! I am just thankful that he has not had to stress out over plumbing the last few weeks! :) Right now, the only stress is coming from Laura and Leslie...they are leaving messes all over the house and I am about to scream! If I do, I will do it while I am tossing all their stuff out the doors and windows. You can only take so much, you know?

Ok, off to check on the laundry. Oh, and the baby blanket is working up very nicely! I am SO excited! Now if I can just figure out how to finish it off!

It's been so long since I did any real replies, I thought I would do it while I have a chance. ;)

Monet-What kind of get-together are you planning. I might be interested... depends on how busy the kids keep me this school year with band, chorus, dance etc. :dizzy:

Pancho & Christain- My kids are both big fruit lovers. They love everything but canteloupe and honeydew. Sean is insulin resistant and the doctors want him to have fruit with every meal. He is allowed to have natural sugar and of course the fiber in fruit is good for him! I let them have watermelon, you can only find it in the summer anyway. They usually just have whatever is in season. They get sick of citrus in the winter!

Melf- It's hard to eat right when you have two kids, and a husband who loves his little debbies too!

Tech- Hope the parade was good and you had a great time!

Everybody else- Hope you're having a great weekend whether you're wet :rain: or dry! :beach:

Dinner tonight was two pieces of Amy's whole wheat crust pizza with organic chicken sausage and black olives added. I did not eat all the bread- just the crispy parts! I did not have enough veggies today, so I snacked on an enormous cucumber I picked in the garden. Yum! The rain seems to have subsided for now...it was pouring earlier. I expect there will be more.

THIN: I have no idea what kind of get together it will be. Maybe just meet and have dinner together. I have meet several of the folks on the board here, and it has been fun to finally connect face to face. We talked about you and I meeting and going to Harry's and Super H. I am ok with that if you like, bring the kids. I was a certified art teacher, and worked in Children's Ministry at my old church (very large, at 141 and Old Alabama if you are familiar with that area at all...) for eight years, so I actually enjoy them. :) Its up to you... the offer still stands.

TECH: Thanks for the update on Dennis.

CHRISTIAN: Welcome! We are glad you are here. Watermelon as others have mentioned, is not legal on Sugarbusters. The reason why is that it is very easily digested and turns into sugar in your blood stream very quickly, causing a significant insulin spike. That said, if eaten with slower absorbed foods, it is probably not that bad a cheat- certainly better than potatoes, or corn! :)

Dennis satallite loop (http://www.ssd.noaa.gov/PS/TROP/DATA/RT/float-vis-loop.html)

:( Dennis has taken a definite turn to the NNE. If this turn holds up, I'm now predicting Panama City, Fl to take the brunt of this horrible storm. Hope everyone's in a shelter!! :( This storm continues to defy the odds and it's not reading the computer models and will and can do whatever it wants to. They are all calling for a Mobile, AL landfall, but I'M calling for Panama City, FL at this point.

:hugs:

I love everyone!! Hope you are all safe!!

Kris

Update: Jog to the NNE has now turned to NNW...Pensacola again :dizzy:

Morning! I have had my espresso and a few almonds so far. I need to go rustle up some more substantial grub soon. :)

Its very cloudy here, but at least we are in between heavy rain storms.

I got about 15 - 20 inches knitted on my baby blanket yesterday. I am pretty excited. I only have found one mistake...a dropped stitch on the second row which I will NOT be fixing! :)

Tom is trying to talk me into a walk this morning. I am feeling kind of blah and would rather stay home. He tends to be persistent in these things...so we shall see. I may have to distract him! ;)

TECH: It will be interesting to see where Dennis finally ends up. Thanks for keeping us all up to date.

I am off to find some breakfast!

AFTERNOON EVERY BUDDY! :rain: :rain:

Overnight....lots of rain and wind. I kept hearing branches from the Australian Pines hitting the roof. Rain is still beating down and we've just been told that all this afternoon and evening....electrial storms and more rain!
I've got laundry to do (what's new?) , but I don't want to be in the middle and the electrical crap start. WHAT TO DO.....WhAT TO DO>>>>

GATOR...did you get any wind and rain? Stay safe!

Let's keep our friends to the north in our prayers...they're gonna need all they can get! The storm is less than 50 miles away from landfall and it's a
Catagory 4.....BAD!!

SUSAN will miss the bulk of the aftermath by being gone...Hope she made it safe to N.C. MS BELLE is a pretty good navigator so I really don't worry.

MONET...Now that the MONET LOVE BOAT is in DRY DOCK, what will y'all do around there for fun?

Sorry to miss everyone else, but I've gotta go...be back later

Hi BOB--We got quite a bit of rain off and on yesterday, but not anything extraordinary in the way of wind. A bit gusty, but if I hadn't known there was a hurricane in the Gulf, I would not have thought anything of it. We had a lot of rain last night. Today, just gray skies and spits of rain, not enough to keep us in the house.

I weighed this morning :nono: just to see, in anticipation of my "official" weigh in tomorrow morning. I was back up one pound :( so if nothing changes, I will not have any loss to show for the week. I have been eating carefully all week, except for Friday night when we had company, and then yesterday afternoon, when we just snacked on cheese and crackers leftovers for dinner. We worked in the yard yesterday, between rain spells, and so didn't walk. Did not get my 10000 steps in yesterday or Friday. So today my DH and I went out for a walk and now I am at 13469 steps. We plan to also work in the yard.

We pulled 3 large garbage cans full of weeds from our butterfly garden yesterday. The garden had gone to pot while we were gone to France and it was cool enough yesterday to actually get out there and work. It was heavily overcast and kept the heat down a bit. I think (hope) my Dh will put a thick layer of mulch in there today, while I pull the rest of the weeds from the last section of that garden. It gets so hot here in the summer that nothing much is blooming except for the zinnias, and they are looking scraggly because of all the rain.

Food today:
Breakfast--cooked oatmeal with dried cherries and 1/2 C skimmed milk.
Lunch--VERY large green salad with other veggies (tomatoes, onions, etc.) with 1/4 C cottage cheese, 10 gms. walnuts, and 3 oz. chicken. Lo cal dressing. 6 cherries.
Dinner will be WW spaghetti (2 oz.) with homemade spaghetti sauce, some cheese on top, and a small salad. I have had a qt. of water so far, so need to drink some more.

Talitha--Thanks AGAiN for steering me to the website for the sermon on husbands. I hope the BF will listen to it. I also found on that same site one on Women--wives, and have downloaded it so my daughter can listen to it. It should be a good conversation starter.

I think I am gonna join the new workout place that I checked out on Sat. It is very nice and I think I could benefit by going. It is more expensive than the one that is closing, and not as close, and he keeps the temp. there about 71°, which is way too hot for working out hard, but I think I can get him to crank the thermostat down when I come. Now if I could just get him to reduce his price . . .

Kris--Good predicting on the hurricane. My DD lives in Ft. Walton Beach!!! :yikes:

Well, I am gonna go. Have to go pull weeds.

Evening! I am rather jazzed! This is like the third day I have managed to stick to the outlines for the Rosedale program to restore Leptin sensitivity. One thing I have noticed is a very rapid decline in cravings, and appetite. Now if it will just show up on the scale, it will be totally cool! :)

Its raining a lot here. We went to a Chinese place after church with a group. I got egg drop soup and Tom and I split an entree of a chicken and veggie stir fry. I did not eat any rice, or complimentary crab rangoons, fried noodles, or fortune cookie. Lunch was a steamed meat pie recipe out of my Helen Chen cookbook, stir fried Shanghai bok choy and again, I did not eat rice.

I hope all is well with all my sugarbusting buddies...
