View Full Version : Week Of June 4th!!!!!

06-04-2001, 06:45 PM
Good Afternoon!!!!

Well I am almost moved in!!!It is a big adjustment now with an audience of 1 to watch me bathe and all other personal moments!!!(SD#2!!)She got into my mascera yesterday and decorated the walls, carpet and herself..I am not child proof and must do soo quickly..I woke up today and dressed for work and got sad cuz my cats are at my house and I had no one to drink the tuna water!!!It is soo weird to be in someone elses house with your bedroom furniture arranged and U think U are at home until U get out and walk around..Well enough of that!!!

Went to the club today..Felt great to be excercising again!!!I just have to remember that 30 days makes a habit and keep it up!!!!

Have a great evening all!!Off to pick up kids and start supper..I am making Refman some brownies now-the deal is he has to cut them since that is my weakness-the stuff on the knife. I can resist them in the container!!!

just a quick stop by as it is 11:15pm here - wanted to start a new thread, but thought I hadn't been around long enough yet :D

See ya tomorrow

06-04-2001, 10:32 PM

I'm posting so that I can avoid the huge batch of chocolate chip cookies my daughter  made! I ate one - along with a spoonful of dough - already. I counted it as two cookies (3 pts) which put me over for today by two. That's okay, though; I still have two banked points, plus I've got 90 activity minutes and am getting ready to have 45 more.

For those of you on WW: What week did you get the booklet that translates activity minutes into points? I thought we were supposed to get it in Week 3, but all I got was a recipe card for Quesadillas and Sweet and Sour Pork. (Maybe I should have just asked my leader, huh?:o )

Oh yeah...I set another goal! I would like to be under 200 lbs. at my July 27th weigh in. This is what my list of goals looks like now:

Jennelle :D

Hi Everyone!

Thanks for all your good thoughts regarding my weight/water gain. I know I'm not supposed to weigh myself everyday but I do so we'll see what happens.

Today was an okay food day, not perfect but not too bad. I feel weird because I haven't exercised in a few days but today I spent 2 hours at the dentist (root canal - yuck, must be getting old) so there was no time. I'll get back to it tomorrow because it makes me feel so much better.
I get inspired when I read all about all of your exercising and running - it's so great, KEEP IT UP!! I usually go the gym about 3 times a week and then add in my stair climbing (in my 10 storey apartment building) and some running around the block.

And congratulations Jenelle and RR for abstaining (or mostly) from the cookies and brownies, I don't know if I could do it.

Have a good night everyone!

Well they give me colors.
And I have to play with them. I have been an
eating machine for the last 4 or 5 days. So
tomorrow no keychain for me. But lesson has
been learned.

I will be back on program
first thing in the morning. I got a recipe
for Mexican Lasagna that is only 2 points so
I will be trying that this weekend
I have decided to do the DCL cruise in
2003 and the one that goes to

:dizzy: So back to program for me.

About the activity booster it comes in Week 4. But try the quesadillas they are great!!!!

06-05-2001, 12:04 AM
Hi guys!! Wow, I've been away too long. I hardly know what to do with all these options!!!!!!!!!! I got my test back and I made a 94!! Yippee. Then the other class did so bad they had to give all of us a pop-quiz worth 30 points to help bring some grades up. I now have a 100!!! I was happy about that. Now I have a project due tomorrow (that I have finished!!) and we start the real stuff next week. I'm pretty nervous about it. It's going to be a lot tougher.!!

Looks like everyone is doing well. I'm making more typos than I'm getting right, so I'll try this again tomorrow!! It's past my bedtime!!!!!

06-05-2001, 09:05 AM
Pryia - I'm always looking for recipes (especially low point ones) so if you're Mexican Lasagna is good, please pass along the recipe!

And while we're at it, I know this isn't the recipe boards but if anyone has a favourite low point recipe maybe they could pass it along. Or if you've already posted it in the recipe boards, could you direct me to it?? Just a thought. I don't know about the rest of you but coming up with meal ideas is half the trouble.

06-05-2001, 11:12 AM
Good Morning All!!

Well, I went to WW and rejoined last night. I will definitely have to find a different leader though, because this one doesn't stop moving for a second!! She was making me nervous with all the jiggling around and "talking Italian" (as DH says) she did!! I felt like saying, um, could you stand still for two seconds?! LOL!!

I'm having a hard time figuring out the new options...is it not possible to alter the Font and Color of what you're doing?? Can you only change one thing at a time?? :?:

In other good news, after all the crap I've had to deal with at work, with my ever changing position...I think I've told you all about it...I'm on the verge of a huge promotion!! I talked to (interviewed with) the person I will be working for yesterday AM, and will talk again this afternoon. It was originally called Exec. Asst. to the CIO, but he said that it's actually higher level than that, it's more like Project Coordinator, right hand, eyes and ears type person...will find out title later. I'm a little nervous about it, because he's looking for a very smart...brilliant were his words...person, and I mean, I'm smart, but more to the common sense/life application side, than the book smart side! And I have a pretty low self image when it comes to how smart I am...along with being pretty modest! Which is what he doesn't need. I mean, the man asked me flat out, "so are you smart?"!! I was like...uh...I guess... If it works out, and he didn't change his mind after yesterday's conversation, I could be starting this position next week sometime!! I'm pretty excited about it, it will be a huge challenge for me, one that I have to have myself convinced by 4:00 today that I can handle!!:dizzy:

Anyway, I guess I have to adjust my July 4th goals, since my weight is changed from my original starting weight...

Have a great day all!!

06-05-2001, 02:09 PM
HI all! Colors . . .how fun!

Elisa - sorry about the gain. I think everyone is right abou the water thing. Have you ever tried Ore Ida fast food fries? You bake them and they are great - exactly like their name.:)

Jennelle - congrats on the exercise. My mileage is from the beginning of the year.

RR - I'll bet you have lots of adjustments to make.:D

Pryia - hey, if you learned you lesson, then that is the important thing.:)

Karen - hooray for your test score!

Lauren - hope the promotion comes through for you.

Hi everyone :^: I can't believe I don't have a post on the last thread. Time is going too fast. I am happy to say I lost 3 pounds over the 2 weeks between ww meetings. :D I am getting started on the right track anyway. I know I am only down 2 from starting but I feel determined and strong right now.

It is a busy time at work for me. Beginning and end of school year are like that. But in 2 weeks I will be done no matter what so the pain is temporary. I will probably check in more often then. In the meantime I am on this computer right now because I was tempted to stuff my face  and I wanted to grab onto this lifeline (called the thread) until the feeling passes. Already I feel better. I left my partially finished water mug at work so I am going to fill another to have here at home. Then I will work on getting dinner ready. I wanted a chocolate easter bunny but had a 1 point rice cake instead. Actually it is very yummy... something with chocolate flavor and chips!

I hope you are all doing well.

Lauren, good luck with the promotion!! And congratulations on rejoining WW. I like my leader a lot. She is great. Very real. Too bad you live so far north!

Karen, congratulations on the good grades!!! I forget what you are going to school for. What is it again?

Ok, well I have to go for now. Hi to everyone else! Have a great evening! (Or whatever time of day it is for you)

dani :)

06-05-2001, 06:57 PM

BFB--U R always welcome to post a new thread!!!!

Lauren-U would never get along with REfman at all!!!He never stops!!!Mowing grass-washing clothes-dishes-mopping floors!!!It is soo funny how he is always moving!!!Me--I am the one that is "speaking the Italian"!!!!*L*

Ok-off to daycare!!!!!!

06-05-2001, 07:44 PM
I have absolutely nothing to say right now (tired and should be in bed), but I had to try out a different font to satisfy my curiosity

Maybe next time I will be a daring as some of you and try colour!

Hope everyone is doing well and I will check by tomorrow

06-05-2001, 10:15 PM
Hi, I'm just here to play with the fonts and color Wow!! Bold!! And a variety of fonts to choose from

This is big I just also want to say that I did resist and I stayed within my points even though now I am back in my smaller point range I even EXERCISED by walking over an hour and 10 minutes!

Ok I am finished playing.. let's see what this looks like

Hi all
This is really cool. You can change the color & everything!

Well, guess I'm not doing too good at posting more often huh? Life is just so busy these days, but it doesn't mean I don't think about you all!

Put the kids on a plane for Michigan last Friday. They've gone to visit their mother's family for a week. It's nice to have a "kid-free" week.

DH & I celebrated our 1 year anniversary Sunday. It doesn't seem like it's been a YEAR already! We actually had to go to my grandfather's 95th birthday party Sunday so we both were "sick" on Monday. Went & bought a new patio set for the deck & had dinner at the Japanese Steak House...can you say waaaay too many points! *L*

Vicki - I'm actually realizing that I don't mind the yard work too much. I'm looking forward to planting some stuff next year, assuming DH & I agree on what we want! There's a lot of adjustments to be made when you're suddenly living with kids! All kinds of things you never thought about before *L*

BFB - those Paprika Pringles sound good...haven't seen them in the US though....you show more restraint than I'm capable of when it comes to Chinese food!....oh, and feel free to start a new thread if you think we need it....doesn't matter how long you 've been here, you're part of the group now!

Lauren - congrats on taking the step to rejoin WW and hope the new position comes through! :D

Karen - congrats on the grades!! :D

Well, guess that's all for now. Hope everyone has a great day!

06-06-2001, 12:22 PM
Hi All,

I'm having issues with these new options!! It's too much of a hassle, if I already have something typed and then I wanna change the font or color or whatever, ugh...patience Lauren, patience... :dizzy:

I didn't do too well yesterday. I thought I was doing good, but I didn't realize my chicken was going to be soo big, it looked like a typical 4 oz.! So I ended up 2.25 over for the day. I know it could've been worse, but I was just mad that it was day one officially back OP, and I wasn't!

Today will be better!

06-06-2001, 01:15 PM
hi all. I thought it was kind of a pain to do the color thing too - but I guess I will try it again! Weigh in is tomorrow and I'm still going fine. I think TTOM is hitting me though - wonder how that will affect me??

Hmmm, so do I have to keep doing this again for each paragraph or am I doing something wrong? I'll have to see how this looks.

happy - good idea to go to the computer instead of the food!!:D

RR - wow - great that dh does all those things!

Legal - have fun on your kid free week!!

Lauren - good luck on staying op today - YOU CAN DO IT!

gotta run - Rabbit

Hi All!

OK, today's going pretty good. YOu know, my lunch was good, but those Healthy Choice meals have a lot of sodium in them. I never really paid that much attention to it before, but I happen to be looking at the box while it was heating, and I noticed that in that little meal, there was 600 mg. sodium!! That's the only problem I have with frozen meals, all the sodium and sauces. I'd rather they give me more food and less sauce!! I will have to check the Lean Cuisines I have at home.

Hey, I don't know if A&P stretches outside NJ, but Jersey girls, Lean Cuisine's are on sale this week at A&P and there's also a coupon in the flyers (Not the A&P flyer, just the regular coupon flyers) for 1.00 off purchase of 4 Lean Cuisines. I bought 8 of them because I had 2 coupons. I think they were on sale for 1.83 for the regular ones and 2.05 for the Hearty Portions. Thought I did pretty good!

They fill me up, if I have a salad and/or some frozen veggies with it. Alone they usually don't fill me up.

Rabbit- What I noticed is that if I want to add formatting after I have typed something, even if I click where I want it to begin, it will put the formatting codes at the end of the post. I have to cut and paste the formatting codes to the beginning of where I want it, then when I'm done, click Close All Tags, which sometimes works, sometimes doesn't!!

LE- OMG, I can't believe it's been a year already!! Happy Anniversary!!

Dani- WOW, Congrats on walking for an hour and 10 minutes!! DH and I walked around our complex Monday night, which probably took about a half hour. It's pretty much all up and down hills, so it was a rather vigorous workout for out-of-shape-me!! Will have to work on that!

RR- You know, I don't mind someone that's moving all the time, but if you're standing there talking to me, don't look like you're doing the pee-pee dance, ya' know?! I mean, I felt like saying, the bathroom's right there, go already!!

Hey, Elisa had a good idea...I know we did this once before...why don't we post recipes we like, with points or nutrition info, if we have it! We could just start a new thread within 30 Something's, like last time. Actually, we could use it for recipes and tips/ideas, if you want?? Anyone else think it's a good idea??

Time to get back to work...I actually have some today!! :D

06-06-2001, 03:03 PM
Hi all!! You guys are way more adventuresome than I am. All of the options make me want to hide under the desk!!! You must understand that I am going to school for computer programming and I feel like I'm back in class!!!! Especially the section labled VB Code!! The new unit starts next week and that's what we will be studying: Visual Basic!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Class ended well, I ended up with a low A. Teacher took pity on us and we don't have to go to class tomorrow nite.......I'm going to treat it like summer vacation!! Not sure how yet, but I'll figure something out.

OK, dodo head here has REALLY screwed up on the weight-loss thing. I've put back on ALL the weight I had lost. :(. It's my own stupidity. I was feeling so deprived so, everything I saw that I wanted, I ate. Now I'm paying for it. I keep making all the wrong decisions, even when I know the right ones. I did it again for lunch today, I had Chinese. I had been doing better, eating fruit instead of sweets and I'd had an apple for breakfast. Then I did such a stupid thing. Oh well, I'll just have to do better for dinner!!!

Happy: Good to see you here!!! Yipee on the loss. That is terrific. Glad school is almost out. I bet you are too.

Lauren: Yeah on the promotion. I hope you get it. Maybe I should check out the frozen dinners. I don't usually like them because of all the preservatives. I like the recipee thread idea.

Elisa: Have you tried the veggie soup from WW? It's really good. I was a member in the old days, so it used to be 0 points. I don't know what it is now. Because it was 0 you could have crackers or put a little LF Mozzarella cheese in it and have a nice lunch with few points. Specially if you had a salad with it.

OK, gotta go do some chores. Have a nice evening guys!!

06-06-2001, 03:53 PM
Hey Karen...don't beat yourself up too badly about the weight gain. If I had even a penny for all the times I've regained lost weight, I'd be a billionaire! The important thing is that you've picked yourself back up and made a fresh go of it. You really should be commended...I know that school can be incredibly stressful! I am a stress eater, and I always gained weight during "test season."

The WW veggie soup is still 0 calories. I've never tried it, but I've heard it's very good. Here's the recipe, if anyone's interested:

WW Garden Vegetable Soup
Makes 4 servings (about 1 cup each) 0 POINTS per serving

2/3 cup sliced carrot
1/2 cup diced onion
2 garlic cloves, minced
3 cups fat-free broth (beef, chicken, or vegetable)
1 1/2 cups diced green cabbage
1/2 cup green beans
1 tablespoon tomato paste
1/2 teaspoon dried basil
1/4 teaspoon dried oregano
1/4 teaspoon salt
1/2 cup diced zucchini

1. In large saucepan, sprayed with nonstick cooking spray, saute the carrot, onion, and garlic over low heat until softened, about 5 minutes.

2. Add broth, cabbage, beans, tomato paste, basil, oregano, and salt; bring to a boil. Lower heat and simmer, covered, about 15 minutes or until beans are tender.

3. Stir in zucchini and heat 3-4 minutes. Serve hot.

Per serving: 42 calories, 0 g total fat, 0 g saturated fat, 0 mg cholesterol, 63 mg sodium, 8 g total carbohydrate, 2.4 g dietary fiber, 3 g protein, 41 mg calcium

Well, everyone who said that the chinese food had a lot to do with my weight gain this past Monday was right. I hoped at least part of it was water weight but you never know. Well I weighed myself this morning and I was back to where I was last Monday, so the 2.5 lbs I had gained were gone. I don't know if I earned it or the water just went away but it made me feel better. I have been trying - eating okay - usually keeping within a couple of points of my range which isn't too bad, since I don't feel like I'm "dieting" just making better choices. I've also been good about going to the gym so I feel much better. While I'm no closer to my July 4th goal at least I haven't gained.

Jenelle - Thanks for the recipe. I've heard people say it's great and I've never tried it because I'm not a fan of tomato based soups so I didn't think I'd like it. If you do, it is great because if you're really low on points at the end of the day or if you're saving up for a big dinner, it's perfect.

Karen - we all do what you do so we know where you're coming from, you just have to decide that next time you'll make better choices, i.e. dinner - don't wait until "tomorrow" to start because, at least for me tomorrow never comes, it has to be now. We can only hope that it's two steps forward and only one back!

Lauren - I love the Healthy Choices and Lean Cuisines too but I guess I should be careful of the sodium. I try not to eat them everyday, just keep them around for "emergency situations". And always buy them on sale!! Here (Toronto) when they're not on sale they're $2.99 or $3.49 and I think that's a bit much.

As for recipes and stuff, I found a great recipe (that I haven't tried yet) somewhere else on this site and I'll try to find it because people were raving about it.

Guess I should get back to work,

06-06-2001, 04:34 PM
Okay, since I didn't know how to link the thread, I cut and paste. This recipe was posted courtesy of MillieB on the Low Carbohydrate thread (somewhere). The reviews were great, low point and something you can vary to your own liking. If anyone makes it (since I haven't tried it yet) let me know....Enjoy.

Someone asked me about this I make different ones all the time, but this is the basic formula:

1 cup eggbeaters (2 pts.)
1 cup 1% or fat free cottage cheese (3 pts.)
cheese any kind various cheese have different amounts for different points I use 4 pts. Worth of whatever kind of cheese
Optional meat substitute Ive used sausage, bacon, turkey, gardenburgers, etc. 3 pts.worth
Cooked vegetables cut into bite size pieces about 3 cups worth or a 12 oz. Package of chopped spinach, broccoli, cauliflower, etc. Drain whatever youre using well I press the water out of the spinach or broccoli
Seasonings again, experiment, nutmeg is good with spinach, you can add chili powder, etc.

Mix it all in a bowl and pour it into a cooking spray sprayed 9 inch pie pan or an 8 inch square pan. Bake at 375 for about 45 minutes to 1 hour or until the center is pretty firm and puffy. (It will un-puff when it cools down) This whole thing is 12 points if you use the meat option, 9 if you dont, and makes 4 good size servings. Heres some of the options Ive tried:

Spinach with bacon, feta cheese
Mushrooms with cheddar
Sun dried tomatoes (soaked and chopped first), mushroom and zucchini with pepper jack
Shredded zucchini, Greek style garden burger, and more feta
Blue cheese with broccoli

There are just a ton of variations, its a great way to use up bits and pieces of leftovers. It's great hot or cold or for a picnic. I usually make one on Sundays for breakfast four days a week - it's still good on Friday, just wrap it well and refrigerate after it cools down.

06-06-2001, 04:34 PM
well - I think I may finally be getting back on program again!!!!! I have started back drinking my water and so far this week I have kept to my points MAJOR ACHIEVEMENT - anyway will check back in tomorrow - have to type an important letter. Take care everyone and speak to you soon :smug:

LE - congrats on the 1st Yr anniversary - I recently hit my 3 year one and it's still great

One last thing - are people really concerned about their profiles showing that they are currently online? Just curious - OK - I have really gone this time :s:

06-07-2001, 10:44 AM
OK, I was fine all day yesterday, until I got home. Our complex was having a "Luau" to get to know each other and they had all sorts of food. I just had a small sandwich, which was fine, but then the devil took over and I had to have dessert!!

They had cake and cheese cakes and cookies and stuff. You know the cakes and stuff you get at like BJ's or any of those wholesale clubs. You know how they're cut in pieces that are about 2" wide at the outer rim and get skinnier? Well, I had a half a piece of cheesecake (the wider half) and then I sliced a pc. of chocolate cake in half length wise, so it was about 1" at the wide part...know what I mean?? Does anybody know how I should count that?? The choc. cake was about the same height as the cheese cake...typical cheese cake.

I guess I just absolutely cannot trust myself!! UGH!!! :s:

Karen- Come on, drag yourself back on track! It must be hard with school and work...you're still working, right? What about the dog, doesn't the dog wanna go for a nice long walk?! You can do it!!!

Elisa- I think they're around the same price here in NJ. Thanks for the recipe, I think DH would like that a lot, he likes that kind of stuff!

BFB- LOLOL, that is soo funny, I too was wondering why it is necessary to know if we're online or not?!

Have a great day all!

06-07-2001, 12:23 PM
hi all. Tonight is weigh in for me - hope it goes well. It should.:^:

Karen - congrats on your A. That is super. That ww soup is such a good idea - I love things with 0 points. I like to have a quantity of food, you know??

Elisa - Glad to hear the 2.5 is gone! Thanks for the recipe - sounds good (for me and dh anyway).

BFB - yeah for getting back on program. The online thing doesn't bother me.

Lauren - all that sounded way too complicated.

06-07-2001, 01:29 PM
Lauren - I find that often guessing points is just that, guessing, unless you have the nutritional information. So sometimes I just guess. I was going to tell you to guess 10 points but I looked at a point listing I have and if you assume you had 1/2 piece of chocolate cake and 1/2 piece of cheesecake then you basically had one piece of cake. The list I had showed both cheesecake and "storebought cake with icing" (whatever that means) as 7 points per piece so I would say you could fairly safely count it as 7 points. You know, that's not too bad really so don't beat yourself up. I've tried to eat "well" and easily consumed 7 points in one shot and I bet it was delicious!!

Hope that helps,

06-07-2001, 02:15 PM

Actually, it wouldn't have been so bad had I planned for it, but I didn't, and that puts me over a few for yesterday. So now I'm two days into it and still not OP!!

Rabbit- Sorry I confused you!! LOL, I confuse myself sometimes!! :?:

06-07-2001, 03:14 PM
hiya ladies - well nothing really much is happening in my life at the moment. I started temping for a company two weeks ago, took a week off and went back this past Monday. Well I am so bored I am literally falling asleep at my desk. I had to go to the toilet to catch forty winks otherwise I would have been sleeping at my desk. I just keep on thinking of the money as I clock away the hours. It is supposed to be doing HR stuff - but at the moment I seem to be catching up on all my personal stuff in the company's time! Well anyway, boredom does not help me and today I had a bit of Mad Mouth Disease:devil: . I ate my lunch an hour earlier than normal, and by the middle of the afternoon I was tempted to eat the PC. On the way home I bought some blue cheese and we all know how much fat cheese has in it. So I guess at some stage I am gonna have to get my butt in gear and start back with the exercising. I bought two additional Tae-bo tapes, Workout 2 and Advance and they are collecting dust nicely.

LBH - as my mummy would say, yield not to temptation!!!! Ain't it amazing how the devil can make you eat dessert and not vegetables and fruit

06-07-2001, 03:48 PM
Boy, last night was an eating disaster! You know the saying..."If you fail to plan, you plan to fail..." Anyway, it was my 14th anniversary and we went to dinner at Outback. They were having a 2-for-1 special on the margaritas, so of course I drank two! We got two appetizers - boiled shrimp and a Blooming Onion. I had planned to eat only the shrimp but ended up eating about 1/4 of the onion (full of fat). I ordered an 8 oz prime rib with baked potato. I got the sour cream and butter on the side, but ended up using all of it on my potato. I also ordered cream of potato soup instead of salad. Thank goodness I was stuffed by the end of the meal! I couldn't even think of choking down dessert!

Looking at it all, I figure my dinner was at LEAST 30 points. I'm back on track today, though, so hopefully my weigh in tomorrow won't be so bad.

06-07-2001, 10:38 PM
Hi all!! Well, I tried to make a good decision tonight and it cost me $8 for a SALAD!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Honest, there was about a tablespoon of chick peas, a boiled egg, a tablespoon of dressing and the rest was LETTUCE!!!!!! I could have made 12 salads at home for $8...............................

Lauren: Thanks for the butt whooping!!!! I'm trying to start off slowly and build to keeping track of points. Maybe that way I won't feel so deprived and then sabotoge (can't spell worth poop!) myself.

Gotta go finish watching a movie DH now. (Tora, Tora, Tora in honor of having been to Arizona memorial and seeing Peal Harbor movie a couple weeks ago. I'm about war movied out :) )

06-08-2001, 10:53 AM
Hi All,

Man, I am doing soo horribly!! Obviously, looking at my journal, my problem is at dinner...and lunch, if I don't plan!! I really need to have more will power too. Yesterday I said to myself, I'll go have pizza tonight after softball, but I'll have a salad and one piece, or 2 pcs, if I really think I'm that hungry. Well, as it turns out, the place we usually go was too packed to accomodate us (15-20 people), so we went to this bar/restaurant down the road. The only pizza they serve is bar pies, which are about 12", very thin crust, and not too much on it. Which actually was better for me, because it was less points, but did I need to eat 6 pcs.? NO! I could've been stronger and had more will power to say no, and had maybe 3 pcs. instead. In fact, I almost didn't go to softball, because I knew I didn't have enough pts. for pizza. The motivation is there, the will power is not.

Today I am determined to be completely OP. Under if possible, to try and make up for the rest of the week! Well, that's not gonna happen, I'm over 21.75 already this week!! I may go to the 5:45 meeting on Wednesday, if I can make it there by then. Hopefully that leader will be better than the one on Monday! Or at least less annoying!! ;)

Enough whining, time to work! Have a great day all!

hi all. I couldn't wait to get on here today and report my success!! I have been oh so good for 3 weeks now and it finally paid off. I lost 2.6 last night and am finally back in the 160's. I'm thrilled. Only 10.6 to go to my ww goal. WooHoo!

I have a challenging weekend coming up - it is dh's birthday and we have out of town guest - I will have to stay strong. Normally my policy is not to have anything I can't handle around. Will try to work with that.

Lauren - it just all sounded like too much trouble!

Jennelle - good luck at your weigh in.

Karen - I heard that was a great movie.

Have a great weekend all. Tomorrow I'm walking in the race for the cure. I've always wanted to do that. Will try to update mileage this weekend sometime, if possible.

Hello everyone,

It's been a while since I've been here. I haven't been doing well on the diet front. I think it's because I haven't been planning my dinners and when I don't do that I end up eating stuff I shouldn't when I get home. So far this week (it starts Wed) has been going better. I was over a couple of points yesterday, but I was under the day before so they average out, and so far today is looking good. If I can hang on through the weekend, then I'm sure the scale will be kind on Tuesday. We'll see.

Happy - Your story cracks me up. I also joined in Sept and have not lost much weight (13 ish lbs although it was 15) and I often wonder what the receptionists think when I keep coming and paying my money but don't loose. Then I think it doesn't matter what they think, I'm happy because I'm not gaining which would be what I'd be doing if I wasn't coming. Hang in there, things are bound to turn around for you soon.

Rabbit - Congratulations on the 3 lbs  . Good luck hanging in there over the weekend, I know you can do it. Good luck walking for the cure also.

LBH - I completely understand you're frustration. Planning (and sticking to it) seems to be key for me. I don't know if this is 'legal' but on one of the other threads they were talking about if dinner is your big meal, start your day with that and then continue with breakfast and lunch the next day. That way if you over indulge at dinner you can make it up instead of writing off the day and starting over and doing the same thing. Might work.

Jennelle - Apparently failing to plan is the theme for the week. Hope your weigh in went well and good luck getting back OP.

KarenK - Bummer about the salad.

BFB - I understand about the eating when bored. I think that's where a good portion of the 10 lbs I gained last year came from. Good luck getting back on track. And hey if they're willing to pay your for doing your own stuff, let 'em.

LE - Happy belated anniversary :D.

RR - Wellcome back!!! Glad you had fun on your honeymoon. I can imagine getting used to instant motherhood would be a trip. I have a hard enough time keeping my stuff out of the dogs' and cat's reach  .

Well the rain has finally stopped here, I was getting ready to build an ark. K's painting his garage this weekend and I'm planning to get in some weeding and go help out. Hope everyone else has a fun weekend planned :D .

Hello Ladies!

Well, I weighed in this morning and am down another 1.5 lbs.! I was EXTREMELY surprised, considering the amount of food I ate on Wednesday night! I guess the running every other day is really doing the trick!

My birthday is next Thursday, and my birthday goal is 207. I think I might actually make it!!

Jennelle :D

Jenelle - please tell us your secrets!! that is so great that you keep losing - i keep staying the same but i guess that's not too bad. I'm sure you'll make your birthday goal.

Rabbit - congratulations on making it to the "60's" i'm struggling to get there too. If you can believe it, I made it down to the "40's" about 3 years ago and don't ask how i managed to put it all back on because I have no idea! So that's me right behind you trying to keep up.

Planning is the key and just stocking the house with good food is really important because then when you're hungry or don't know what to eat at least there's healthy stuff to chose from.

Well, I screwed up a bit at lunch but not too bad. For breakfast I had 2 nectarines (not much but they were good) and then I went out at work for a friend's birthday and it was a bar so you know things are going to be bad. Well I had a bbq'd chicken breast sandwich and fries - I guessed it as 14 points total do you think that's about right?? All in all it's not horrible but not great, my usual lunches are around 6 - 8 points.

Have a good weekend everyone,

Elisa...Depending on the condiments on the chicken breast sandwich, I think it would be around 8 pts. As for the fries, I know a small serving of McDonald's fries is 6 pts. So 14 sounds like a reasonable estimate for your lunch! :)

As for "secrets"...I'm not sure...I always journal, no matter how bad my day is, so I think that helps. I also think that the exercise is really helping. I got my exercise slidey-thingy at WW today, but I don't think I'll use it. I figure if I just keep on exercising but not tallying the earned points, it will keep me from overeating and kind of give me an informal buffer zone.

hello alll!!!!Wow..we are really getting wet these last 2 days..It is unbelievable-people flooding and the rivers haven't even crested yet..My house and Refmans house are both in high areas but getting to work has been interesting d/t flooding in the roads.. I went to the club today and almost had to swim to get to the daycare....I have been soo irritable lately cuz I miss my cats and my house.I love Refman and he is building a glass room for the cats-but the weather has things slowed and I am worrying about them..

Eating has been really bad the last week..I think there are too many changes in my life and I am picking on junk way too much..THe photographer has my pics ready and I haven't even picked them up....I must pick up the mood soon!!!

Well off to bed.really bad weather brewing and I want to exit the computer!!!
Congrats to the losers!!!!!!

Hi All,

OK, so what I'm thinking is this...I picked a bad week to restart officially on WW. I was PMSing all week, I was having stress because i was doing nothing at work, except playing high paid copy girl, and taking it all out on my eating habits! :( I screwed up at lunch yesterday. I had a Lean Cuisine with me, and decided to go to the store and get a salad to go with it. Well, I couldn't find a spot within a mile of the store so I said screw it and went to BK...then on top of that, I said screw it and biggy sized it, so I had a large fries with my Italian chicken sandwich! I did have unsweetened Iced Tea though, I'm not a big soda person.

Aunt Flo will be here Monday though, and hopefully things will be better on the job front by Tuesday - that's when everything should be finalized for the new position. I just hope my current boss doesn't decide I need to train the new girl, because from the training I got, they're better off having the girl that trained me train her! She's the kind that just says do this, this and this, not really explaining it, ya' know. Hopefully they'll hire someone that gets along with her too. She's soo not my type. She's 23, from Newark, a very urban area, and she acts very urban-ish, if you know what I mean. I mean, I'm from the suburbs, and have a country state of mind. I'm pretty laid back. It has to be bad (or PMS) for something to really stress me out. I take things with a grain of salt. She's just very fake, always bubbly, but soo fake about it. And she's very 23, you know, she's like 10 yrs. younger than me and she talks down to me because she knows the software better than me. She thinks I'm a freaking idiot. But I'm the one that makes 10K more than her now, and will be levels higher than her in the new position. OK...I'm done sounding like an immature brat...which I just realized I must sound like! Sorry.

Anyway, I have things pretty much planned out for this coming week. I made a turkey breast today, sliced up the whole thing (with my new electric knife shower present!!) and bagged it up. I have that, tunafish, lots of veggies...I'm determined to have things turn around for me this week! I'm going to WI either Tuesday or Wednesday night, and see if those leaders are better. I'm going to send in the check for our pool passes too, since the weather is finally getting warm enough for swimming, so I can swim a little after work and on the weekends. And I am going to have DH start acting like a drill sargent when it comes to walking after dinner!

Rabbit- Congrats on the BIG loss!! And congrats on getting back into the 160's and soo close to goal!!! :smoking:

Tech - Do you mean like start counting the night before? That's interesting. I don't see why you couldn't do that...it's all up to you, ya' know? It sounds too confusing for me though, I'd screw that up in no time!!

Jennelle - Congrats on the loss!! In case I forget, and I probaby will, happy birthday early!! Good luck making your goal, sounds like you just might!!

RR- Just one question, is "d/t" a nursing abbreviation?! LOL, with my mom being a nurse, and working with all sorts of nurses and medical people, I see all sorts of abbreviations, some I know, some I don't. In QA, the girl I worked with always used to give me notes and I'd see a little triangle, for "changes", I think that's short hand, and I really didn't know what it meant, I just judge by what she wanted me to do that that's what it meant. So one day I asked her and she was hysterical, and apologized because she forgot that I don't necessarily know all those things! hehehe...just wondering! Hope things dry up for you!

Oh well, DH is watching Game 7 in the living room. Think I'll go check out what's on HGTV in the bedroom! Hey do any of you get Light n' Tasty magazine? It's from the same people that put out Taste of Home and Quick Cooking. My mom gets them and she got me a subscription to this one. We got DH's mom a 2 yr. subscription to it for her b-day. I love it. Marked some pages and made a shopping list for the ingredients I need. I usually pick the faily simple ones, cause I'm not much of a cook! Will let you know the recipes/pts. when I try them!

Have a great weekend all!!
