Hi everyone,
Here we go with a new month and a new healthy-eating month.

Sis, I'm sorry but I've never heard of hyperinsulinism. I am so sorry your daughter has that and has to worry about a special diet. That's just not fair! :( Please keep us informed about her progress!
So sorry you are having to work such awful hours, too.

Happy Canada Day to Mimi and Maureen!!!!!!!!! My husband just told me it was today. Were y'all off work today?
I'm ready for the 4th of July. I have plenty of chicken breasts to grill and other healthy things to eat. It'll just be the 2 of us. We're not having or going to a party. Is anyone going somewhere? Who goes to the fireworks display? We used to but it's just too hot. Today the heat index was 105.

Everyone please post!

Happy Friday,

Tina, thanks for starting us off this month. It's hard to believe that it's July already.

Sis, I've never heard of it either. Let us know how your daughter is doing. It's just not fair that she has to follow a special diet.

Amy, how is everyone doing?

Tammy, what's up with you? How long will Tim be gone?

We aren't doing anything special either for the 4th. Pat's going to be on vacation all week and we are going to build some fences. Of course it will be very hot!!! We can sit in our back yard and watch the big fireworks display which is about 2 miles away as well as those in the surrounding little cities. It's great.

Hope you have a great evening. Oh and Happy Canada Day too!!!! What do you do for this occasion? Sorry, I have no idea.

Hi Ladies:
We have fireworks too, BBQ's camping etc.
I worked three hours this morning, but was off by noon.
The big fireworks display in the area is at the University of Waterloo. The students put in on for the community. I went a few times when the kids were small, They have food pony rides face painting, rock bands, lots of stuff for kids. Its fun but the parking is bad and you have to walk about half a mile to park and it takes forever to get out of there. It is chilly here tonight about 15C degrees about 60F for y'all.
Dan and I worked in the yard for a bit today, it was nice to not feel like a melting popsicle out there, and we have the windows open tonight for the first time in a week.
Happy Birthday to the USA

Amy, go to the convention!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Sis, I don't know anything about hyperinsulinism either.

Susan, turkey hot dogs are a hit with you, huh? When we were in PA, there was a hot dog place right across from the hotel. They had a menu with a zillion different ways to have a hot dog. I was boring. I had onions and mustard on mine. Mine looked pretty sad compared to what others were eating. But it was yummy!!

Tim called again yesterday from Paris. When they were in London, he saw Prince Charles and Camilla! He was pretty excited about seeing someone famous. He said they were about 4 feet from them, so that's pretty darn close. Did he get a picture? He couldn't get his camera ready fast enough!

He called this morning from the Eiffel Tower. They were eating lunch. He forgot about the 6 hour time difference, so it was 7:12 when he called here. He said, Oops! They are having a great time. I keep reminding him that he can throw away socks and underwear to make room for my gifts. lol

That's all for now.

Hi All,
I love hot dogs---any kind. Well, I can do without saurkraut (sp?). Yuck, that stuff smells. Larry used to eat a lot of it on hot dogs because it was 0 pts. I just couldn't stand the smell.
I cannot believe how hot it is tonight. At 9 o'clock, the heat index was still 104 F. It's only the first week of July and we're into the hot summer.

Tammy, it sounds like Tim is having a ball. Do you have a stack of stuff for that garage sale? A clothing donation truck is coming by next week. I hope I can find enough to give them.

Susan, are you burning up? Have you taken any more pets to the vet? :)
Mimi, how are you?
Sis, how is your daughter?
Amy, I bet it's hot in SA.

Where are our other posters?

It is going to be a hot one today!

Our neighbors on each side of us have decided that at 12:45 am that they need to shoot off fireworks. I wake up and then can't go back to sleep. It is making me mad. Of course Pat sleeps right through it. I wish they would be considerate of those sleeping. The one that is closest to us shoots those screamers off. UGH!!!! :dizzy:

Tina, I love hot dogs too. My dad, brother and I all love them. I think Amy likes them too but not sure if she loves them like us. I do like saurkraut too. Yum!!!

Tammy, glad Tim is having a good time. That's cool that he saw royality.

Amy, what plans do you have? Are you going over to mom and dad's? Oh yea, they are having something Monday, because they wanted us to come down for it.

Mimi, Is it still cool there or did the heat return? How is cooking school going for you son?

Where is everyone else???? We miss you!

Tammy

I love saurkraut!!!

You would not believe the things I have for the garage sale. My closet has half as many clothes in it as it had a few days ago. If I haven't worn it in over a year, it's going in the sale. Our hall closet will be "empty" soon too. I have 4 winter coats in there, a few jackets, and a cape. I'm getting rid of 3 of the coats, 2 of the jackets, and the cape.

I have 2 large boxes of books that I brought from the 2nd grade room to sell. I left plenty there for the next teacher. I have spent so much money on books over the years, so now I can make a few bucks and buy some new ones for the 4th grade room. Rhonda left some of hers in there for me to use until I retire.

We have a stereo in the basement that probably hasn't been used 3 times since we've lived here. It's going in the sale.

Bob and Tim are being sneaky. They planned to put one of our riding mowers in the sale. It's a Snapper, and it is the one that I can mow with. The other one is too big, and I'm just not comfortable. Well, they decided they are selling mine so I won't be able to mow. When I do, I always end up hurting, so then they won't have to worry about me. I'll show them. I'll get on the big one and go crazy! I'd probably drive it into the creek at the back of our property. lol

I've been standing in the kitched with cupboards open seeing what I can get rid of. This is becoming an obsession! I keep thinking that if we are going to downsize in the next couple of years, I'd rather get rid of things a little at a time instead of when it has to be done.

I have written a novel here! We are doing steaks for supper with salad. Yummy. Bob had to work this morning, and he is working tomorrow morning.

Tina

Wow, Tammy I need you to come clean out my closets. When I thought we might have to move, I cleaned 2 closets. I stopped when we were going to stay put. In a few years, we hope to move out of this house. I need you to come help me. :D
We ate out at Olive Garden today. Susan is your mouth watering yet?
I got the lunch-size spaghetti with meat sauce. I was such a good girl.

Tomorrow morning we are going to a funeral. My brother-in-law's brother-in law died yesterday. The funeral is in a little town 1 1/2 hrs from here. We didn't have plans for the morning......just sleep. We will probably grill outside in the afternoon.
Have I mentioned that it's HOT!!!!!!! (excuse me for yelling) The heat index is 105. I wish we had a pool. I would stay in it all the time.
Everyone have a great rest of the day. :):):):)

We love Olive Garden!!! I love the salad and the breadsticks.

Sorry about you having to attend a funeral Tina.

It has been about 90 most of the day today. I've stayed inside except when I've carried things out to the garage. We have an attached garage and then another one behind the house. We have the sale in the one out back.

Our steaks were delicious for supper. We are having it again tomorrow. Bob grabbed 2 steaks at work to bring home. It wasn't until he opened them that he saw that they were the thick cut! We ended up splitting one, and we're planning to have the other one tomorrow when he gets home from work. We also had strawberries for supper. It was a healthy meal for once! I talked him out of mashed potatoes and gravy. He was serious!

We both checked our sugar levels the other day a couple hours after breakfast. Bob's was over 200. Mine was 105. Think he should be a little more serious about this diabetes business?

Yikes! I was off to the store at 9;30 last night to get ant spray. I won't forget to spray the doorstop again this year.

Happy 4th of July :)

It's HOT here too!!! I'm ready for fall. Don't you just love Texas, there are 2 seasons summer and summer!!!

Tina, I'm jealolus, I love Olive Garden (I love just about anyplace) I hope you ate some breadsticks for me.

Tammy, come clean my closets, please!!!! Ilike the idea fo Tim and Bob putting the mower out in the sale, you DON"T need to be mowing!!!

Mimi, I hate ants! I hope you got them all. Sorry you had to go out so late to get spray.

I think we are going to grilled some T-bone steaks tonight too. Pat makes the best. I would rather have his than going out. YUM!!! I'll grill some squash for me. If ya'll were close I would give you all squash and cumcumers. I have my fair share of them from my garden.

Well, I've cried once today! I miss Seamus so much. This time last year was my last few days of being pregnant, I got put in the hospital on the 7th and he was born on the 10th. I was looking at his picture in a frame that Amy gave me, it says "Angel at first sight" I was thinking how cute his little nose was. He looked so much like me.... ok, got to stop I'm crying again.

You all are the best!!! Have a happy and safe 4th. :)

Little Sis
07-04-2005, 06:39 PM
Happy 4th everyone! :)

Sue, I am right there with you. You would think that I was the one that gave birth to Sťamus. I miss our little angel very much.

Today I am not in much of a partying mood. Yesterday, Rob (my husband) went to Lake Travis in Austin for a deep Scuba dive of 125 feet. On his decent he started having sever ear pain and was dizzy. His instructor, told him it would pass and to go deeper. Well to make a long story short I was up all night watching him for signs of Nitrogen Narcosis(a sickness of divers). Needless to say I didn't sleep because I kept my eyes on him and kept replaying his story of him running out of air and having to share his buddies and getting lost at 100 ft.

Be safe this evening and try to stay cool

Tina
07-04-2005, 08:30 PM
:) I hope everyone has had a safe, fun day.

Amy, that's quite a story about your husband. Is he doing okay? I hope so.
That's one thing I never want to do----diving. I'll snorkle but that's it.
Susan, I'm sorry you've had a bad day.
Tammy, your steaks sound so good. Larry is fixing hamburgers.

Except for the funeral, it's been a great 4th for us.
I hope everyone continues to have a good one.

Tammy

Mimi, so sorry about the ants!! They can be a pain, can't they?

Susan, I wish I was there to give you a hug! Take care.

Amy, tell your husband that I said he can't go diving again.

Our neighbors got home today from Seattle. They've been gone a month, so it was nice to have them home. Brought them up-to-date on Tim's trip. He's in Switzerland now. I told him to say hello to Heidi and Grandpa for me. He thinks I'm strange. lol

I had some books on the shelf that I had never gotten around to reading. Now I'm trying to read them so I can put them in the garage sale! I feel like I'm cramming for finals!!

Hi,

Hope everyone is having fun this evening. We arent' doing anything. We went for a long ride (exploring) and ended up eating hamburgers about 3 so we aren't fixing steaks tonight. Not only did I have a hamburger, I had onion rings too. That's ok because it's just too hot out there! :) We'll watch the fireworks (I think I told you we could see them from our backyard) If it's still hot we might watch them from the bedroom window. I've done that before too.

Amy, tell Rob I would hate to have to come down there and smack him :dizzy: :) :p ;) I hope you got some rest and he is doing better.

Tina, sorry about the funeral but glad it's been a good day.

Tammy, I would love to go to Switzerland! Glad your neighbors got home safely.

Well we just got back from my parents house where we had hamburgers and hotdogs.

Rob is better this evening, thanks for asking. I am just a nervous wreck. Thanks for the web site, Suz. I went and lit a candle for Sťamus and felt much better.

It been a long day, now I am off to out my babies to bed (its always a joy on the 4th because they all are scared of fireworks) I am trying to get the 8 and 4 year old to sleep in the same room. Along wit our scaredy cat.

Hi all,
Just a quick note to say hello and hope everyone had a good day.
I felt so stuffed that I only had fruit and veggies for supper. I'm sipping on a diet drink at the moment.

Howdy,

Hope everyone is doing good today. Pat is off this week so we are playing some. Yesterday we went to see War of the World. I can't believe how stupid people are to take young kids to it. :dizzy: Today, we went to the mall. Who knows what tomorrow will bring!

I am down 2 pounds. Hope this is going to be the start of something good. I would like to get over that 15 pound hump.

Tina, I love fruit!!! I could eat just it.

Tammy, what's shaking with you?

Amy, my scaredy cat niece and nephews get that from their aunt. I love to watch fireworks just wish I didn't have to hear them.

Totally pooed tonight. Deb and I worked in the garage all day for the sale. Oh my word! I can't believe how much stuff we have out there!! It will be nice to get rid of things, so I don't have to have them around the house.

lol to Mimi. I know how you feel. Tim was 17 in March.

Speaking of Tim, he called from Switzerland this morning (afternoon for him). He bought me a cuckoo clock!!! He's having it shipped home. I kidded around about wanting one, but I didn't dream that he would really do it!!! They head for Austria tomorrow. They are having a great time.

My nephew and I tried to set up a stereo out in the garage. I know it works, but apparently we don't have something hooked up right somewhere. You can hear very quiet music, but the volume is turned all the way up!! Maybe someone who comes to the sale will know what to do.

Tina

Hi all,
Mimi, tell your son Happy Birthday from me. I'm sure he'll be impressed.
Tammy, I hope you make a mint of money on that sale.
Susan, it sounds like you and Pat are having a great time. You didn't say how you liked War of the Worlds. Was it as good as all the hype?
Sis, how's it going???????
Amy, drink lots of water and don't faint from this heat.
Pretty soon Larry and I are going to his hometown, Abilene. There, it's 105 in the shade. I'd thought about taking my bathing suit (if it still looks good) but decided it would be way too hot outside. I don't want to fry.

Susan, congrats on that loss. Keep it comin' off.
Good luck to those who are weighing tomorrow.

Howdy from the Sun! :flame: :sunny:

Right now it is 10:00 pm and 97 degrees. Today we broke 100 for the 4th straight day. My grass is hay (Hey Sue, you need any for the horses? :) )

Well in 10 days my 8 1/2 year old daughter will be going up to Susan's to stay for a week. Manda is totally excited to the point that she asked me to take out the suitcase last night so she will make sure all her stuff will fit. This is the first time she will have stayed way from home. The funny thing is that she was not the child to even like to stay over at my parents house just 6 months ago. Now she has had 2 sleep overs in a week.

The thing is that Sue and I are very much alike... look alike, sound alike, and the list goes on. I am just much shorter, rounder, and younger (much younger).

Hope you all can stay cool and watered down in this heat .

I am off to sit under the fan.

Tina
07-07-2005, 12:35 PM
Like the "title" says, I feel like I'm a broken record but this heat is something else. :o It was 101 last night! It was in the high 80's when I woke up at 6:30 a.m. Could this be Global Warming!!!!!!!

Tammy, I hope y'all have a great garage sale and make a mint of money......enough to share with all of us. :D
Have you been to the dr. recently? I was wondering how you were doing.

Mimi, did you do something special for the birthday boy or did he go out with friends?
Sis, how is your daughter doing? Did you find out more about what she has? If so, please share it with us.
Amy, stay by that fan.
Susan, have a ball with your niece.
Maureen are you still hanging out reading the posts?
How is everyone else???????

Our trip is tomorrow and I woke up with a sore throat. Wouldn't you just know it! I'm taking it easy but have to go buy a new bra. It's weird, I've gained some weight and it went to my hips and my bust. I've never had a big bust. I need a bigger bra. Yuck. I want to lose this weight quickly.

Ugh....dreading weigh-in today...I don't think I've been overeating for the most part, but have I been eating like crap. We're into tech week and dress rehearsals for the play I'm directing, and everything I say or do has to do with "Tom Sawyer." So stop me if I start humming, and for cripes sake, if I burst out in song, just slap me.

Tina--don't worry, when you lose the weight again, twice the weight you gained in your bra will fall away before an ounce does from anywhere else on your body. At least that's the way it works with me (and of course, I lose it unevenly from bazoom to bazoom, so it looks like gravity only affects the left side of my body).

Mimi--18? You ARE old. (Ha ha--just kidding) When my son turned 9, I told him "Well, I'm halfway done with ya." He wasn't impressed. Of course, he told me he was moving out when he was eighty, so I've got time to work on him. :)

It's about 75*F here today--it could stay exactly like this all summer and this goddess would be extremely pleased. Monday, when we have a full dress rehearsal, is forecasted to be 90*F, which means under lights it will push over 100. Thank god I'm the director and will just be barking at the actors who are singing and dancing and sweating under those lights.

Trying to drink lots of water today to keep me from gorging on food before weigh-in today....am waaaaay too tired to live today.....

I'm almost afraid to say anything but we've had some wet stuff coming out of the sky. It's not alot but we'll take any that we can get.

Tina, hope you feel better!!! It's not good to be sick on a trip. I hate bra shopping.

Jody, you crack me up with "I'm half way done with ya" I laughed so hard. He just thinks he is staying until he is 80 :) I'm impressed that you are directing a play. That's cool.

Amy, I better start resting up so I can be ready for Amanda to come. Hey, you are way younger but you don't have to rub it in ;)

Tammy, have you heard from Tim today? I am worried sick about him with all the goings on in London. I know he isn't there but it's too close.

Mimi, how was the birthday celebration.

Ya'll would laugh if you knew how much Amy and I are alike. Her daughter would only stay over at mom and dad's house unless I was there for many years.

Have a great day and stay cool.

Little Sis
07-07-2005, 06:50 PM
Sue - you know that you can't count wet stuff coming from the sky when you spray the hose up in the air making rainbows. I might be younger but you act younger.

Jody - good luck with your play, is it the musical version "Big River" or just Tom Sawyer? It will be wonderful wither way.

Tina, I hope you are feeling better.

Please everyone be extra careful. With the goings on in London we all need to take extra time to keep safe.

auntie
07-07-2005, 09:02 PM
I agree with Amy on making sure that you use extra precaution when you are out and about.

Amy, me acting younger :dizzy: I have NO idea what you are talking about?? :p

We just got home from having hamburgers. We went to a new place in town and it's similar to Fuddruckers. As my nephew says "Bug Rackers" It was a good thing that we had hardly eaten today.

Be safe!!

Tammy
07-07-2005, 10:26 PM
Tim called this afternoon from Austria. He said all of the kids were calling home. I agree, he is too close. He said the tour group that is in charge of his large group, currently has another smaller group in London. That is scary. I can't wait for him to be home. This was the one thing that I was so concerned about when we signed him up to go on this trip.

Garage sale went well. My SIL and I took in about $200. Not bad considering most of our things were marked $1.00 or less. Silly stereo works now, but no one has bought it. I refuse to bring it back in the house!!!! I sold quite a few things from my closets. The one lady who bought most of them was thrilled that they were in such good shape. I really don't know if I'll have another one anytime soon. I am totally worn out from getting it ready yesterday and being out there all day today. I'm thinking that some of the things that I have out there, I might take to school for a goody box if they don't sell.

Tina, I was at the doctor on Tuesday. He is sending me for a back x-ray since I'm constantly having lower back pain. He is also sending me for a stress test. When I walk, I've been having pain in my shoulder blades. He wants to make sure that it isn't something to do with my heart. I think he's worried for nothing. At least I hope so!
My Cholesterol was down since I had it checked last. The Triglycerides were up a little, and he wants that number to come down. My glucose was 112. I felt pretty good about the checkup really. He still wants me to lose weight of course. BUT he did tell me how pleased he is that I've come as far as I have.

LOL about the bra Tina!! I broke down and bought a new swimming suit. I probably won't use it except in the hottub at the hotel, but I wanted something newer. I have had the old one since Tim was 2 years old. think it was time????

Jody, stay cool while you are barking orders!!

GoddessInclined
07-08-2005, 03:48 PM
Gack!!! My occasional dyslexia does not allow me to read "Fuddruckers" without a serious double take.

Amy--musical, yes, "Big River," no. The full title "The Adventures of Tom Sawyer: The Broadway Musical" and has GREAT music--not like the 70's TV version at all. It's my first play--and holy cow, you wouldn't believe the details--thousands of them--that it requires to pull something like this off. Last night I dreamed that for whatever reason, we could use our current stage and got switched to the hockey rink instead, so now my gloomy cave scene has to take place on a stark white floor. And then this girl from high school that I hated showed up claiming she was ready to sing her fairy solo now--there are no fairies in "Tom Sawyer." And if all that stress wasn't enough for my stomach, the lentil soup I ate for lunch is making me fart. Okay, the soup wasn't in my dream, but the rest of it was.

Hope those of you with loved ones overseas hear from them soon--both my brothers were stationed in Iraq & Afghanistan last year, so I know how tense it can be waiting for word of safety.

Everyone have a wonderful weekend, and drink your water!!!

Hugs!

Hi Ya'll,

Ok I have to confess, I just got finished eating an Almond Joy, a bag of mixed nuts and some hot tamales. I'm not sure what is wrong with me, if you saw me shoveling it in my mouth, you would think I hadn't eaten in month. We even had a big lunch at a Vietnamese restaurant in Dallas. It was really good and the first time I have eaten.

Jody, of my gosh, I'm laughing so hard!!!! You are stressed, Honey!!! When is the opening night of the play? I know it will be great and know we are all there in spirit.

Amy, What the dr. say about the youngin?

Tammy, glad you got a good report from the doctor. I sure they figure what is wrong with your back.

Tina, I hope you are having a blast and are feeling better!

Mimi, are you working a bunch still?

Oh, I got the call yesterday, I'll be teaching middle school deaf ed with 4 kids that are hig functioning MR. They are on about the first grade level. I got put there because I have good rapport with parents. There is a tough one coming up. I was hoping for elementary or the senior high but that's ok. I've done middle school before. Kids are kids is doesn't matter the age.

Tammy
07-08-2005, 10:59 PM
Susan, Hot Tamales!! I love those!! Now I want some!!! You will do great teaching those kids!!! I know you are awesome!!

Today at the garage sale, some of the kids from last year's class were here with their parents. Remember Trevor from my class? (he rides an intergalactic starship to school) Anyway, he was here. They stayed for quite a while and shopped and talked. I gave Trevor some books that I had brought home from the classroom. Gave his little brother a stuffed lamb that he loved.

THE STEREO WAS THE FIRST THING THAT SOLD THIS MORNING!!! You should have seen the dance that I did! I don't have to bring it back into the house! Woo hoo!! My old bike also sold. All of the larger items that were in the house have sold which is wonderful. The other big things (basketball backboard and kerosene heaters) can stay in the garage. We made about $90 today. We're opening tomorrow morning, and I think that will be it for this one.

Bob said that we made enough to pay for most of the meals on vacation, so that's a good thing!!

Happy weekend everyone. Wow it has been a long time since I checked in here.
We had pizza hut Dan, Mike, Alicia and I, and Dan;s 2 good friends, and I made an ice cream cake for the birthday cappucino, with malted milk balls (good).
I am off for the next 3 weekends, and looking forward to it very much.
It sounds like everyone is so busy, but take it easy a bit and enjoy the short summer.

Mimi, get in here more often young lady!! I'm saying that and I'm leaving Monday about noon for Michigan! lol

Pizza Hut and ice cream cake. What more could a person want? Yummy!!!! I'm sure you will enjoy being off on the weekends for a while. Don't do anything! Just relax and have some fun.

Garage sale went ok today. We kept it open till about 3. Got rid of a lot of little things. Deb is coming in tomorrow afternoon, and we're going to pack things up either to take to Goodwill or to store somewhere. I think a few of the things I'm going to take to my classroom for a Freeby box.

I need to go to bed!

I hope everyone is having a good Saturday. We didn't do much today. Pat went to band practice this evening and I mowed. Doesn't that sound like fun! I told him tonight that tomorrow we were going to have t-bone steaks for dinner and french toast for breakfast to celebrate Seamus' birthday. He loved french toast when I was pregnant and I ate it alot.

Mimi, I agree enjoy those weekends off. And come here more often.

Tammy, you should call Salvation Army because they will come pick up everything from your house. I would just sack it up and do that. It sure would be easier than hauling it someplace. Have fun on your trip!!!

Wow, I missed a lot while I was gone.
Our trip seemed like a whirlwind. It was good to see my brother-in-law. It was a bittersweet trip because it was the first time back in Abilene since my father-in-law passed away two years ago.
My food choices were very good, if I do say so. However, I didn't drink water, just Diet Coke. :o

Tammy, so glad you sold so much stuff.
Jody, I'd love to be backstage watching you work.
Susan, I'm sure that Vietnamese food made you hungry for Hot Tamales.    :D
Mimi, I'm so glad you have some time off.
Amy, do you have a sick child?
Sis, please let us know how your dd is doing.

I'm so tired tonight. We were on the go every minute. I'm glad to be home.
Stay safe and drink that water.

I hope everyone is having a good weekend. Rob and I are cleaning and getting ready for our July BBQ that we have had every summer for the last 8 years. It is mostly our close friends from high school and their families. There is usually about 30 people, normally we have it at our house. We have a big back yard and it works out really well. But his year we have moved it out to the lake. So I am still tring to put together the menu since I wont have access to my kitchen.

Tina, my youngest was sick this week. We took him to the doctor 10 days ago and he had fifths disease (which is a virus w/ fever and rash in children 0 - 36 months and it is to go away in 10 days) Well the rash was getting worse, and we found out he was having an allergic reaction to something. So they put him on Zyrtec and if its not better by Tuesday we need to take him to the dermotologist. But it is already getting better.

Sue - We are celebrating Sťamus' birthday here too. I am going to send him his balloon full of love and kisses this afternoon. I am going to wear my pin today. :balloons:

Back in May, Susan and I got our family together and walked the San Antonio March of Dimes 5K walk in memory of Sťamus. My husband and I made pin with a beautiful picture of him and each persons name (Sťamus' Momma , Sťamus' Aunt, even the cousins got one) We have decided to do this every year from this point forward.

Happy Sunday,

Amy---Susan told us about you making them photo pins to wear. That was really sweet of you. We all are hurting for Susan and Pat.
You see, we have become one big family here on the threads and we share everything.

Susan, we are thinking about you today.

Tammy-----have a blast tomorrow. How long will you be gone? Enjoy, go wild!
Mimi, enjoy your weekend.
Sis, please let us know how dd is doing.
Jody, stay calm. :)

I feel like I have jet lag, although we didn't change time zones. I don't plan on doing much this afternoon. We went out for Chinese after church this morning. Oooooh, it was good.

Tina, being away is always exhausting. I'm always glad to be home in my own bed.

Amy, fifths disease can hit kids older than that. I had a couple kids with it this year at school. (7-9 years)

We will be gone until next Sunday or Monday. There is a school board meeting on the 18th, so Bob wants to be back by then. I think he is enjoying going in and "talking" to the board. I think it makes the supt. and principal nervous because Bob is telling the board things about them that the board doesn't know but should.

I'm sure Tim is going to have jet lag. We pick him up at 1:45 on Tuesday afternoon, which for him will be 7:45 at night after his trip to Europe.

I don't know if I'll be on here in the morning or not. Have a great week everyone!!!!

Hi Friends,

Well I've made it through the day with just a few tears, so I think I'm doing pretty good however my heart is heavy. We just finished having the best steak and grilled veggies. Wish ya'll were here to share. :)

Tina, I'm sure you are tired, it was an emotional weekend for ya'll and that wears you out more than something physical. You are right, we are a family here!!!

Tammy, don't have too much fun without us! I love it that Bob is going to the school board meetings. It's about time they hear some of the stuff that has occured. Please be careful!

Amy, glad Zack is doing better. I know the party next weekend will be fun.

Sis, when does your daughter go back to school?

Mimi, boy is sounds like your son had a great birthday.

I want to thank you all for always being there. Ya'll are the best.

Susan, could you feel the hugs from all of us yesterday? One of these days we can give actual hugs because I think we will meet some day.

lol about the board meetings. My brother was here yesterday. He said we have to make sure we're back for the meeting because he'll be there and he has been encouraging everyone he knows to come. I've run into some parents of some of my kids, and I've encouraged them too. I've also talked to some parents who are going in this week to request that their children be in my class!!! I've had them before, and the parents trust me to have them again! I guess I didn't mess them up too bad!

I've been busy this morning trying to get things finished up, but I had to take time to chat with my friends before we leave.

Happy Wednesday afternoon,
How is everyone doing today? Drinking all that water, I hope. :dizzy:
Speaking of water, the bottom fell out of the sky today. I was at the grocery store when it started. I drove 10 mph all the way home. You couldn't see but a few inches in front of the car. That's not fun!

Tonight we're going out to eat with friends from out-of-town. We've picked an Italian place that does have heart healthy food. I've been looking at their menu on the web. I'm starving now. :D

What's up with everyone?????

Mark Twain--whose quotes I had to look up to write my director's notes for the program--said "In the first place, God made idiots. That was for practice. Then he made school boards." LOL...how apt.

Monday night, after rehearsal, I was ready to cry. It was horrible. No, it was tragic. No, it was beyond unimaginable. I mean, we have one rehearsal before opening night, right, and people are missing cues, missing lines, missing scenes.....it was an absolute horror.

And then last night came. Full dress rehearsal--make-up and the whole schlemiel (sp?). Un-freaking-believable--it was like a completely different show!!! I'm so excited for opening night, whereas on Monday, I was ready to crawl into an abyss and take a nap. They always say "It always comes together in the end" but, lordy, would it be nice to have it come together BEFORE the end....you know, so as to preserve my hair and all.

How's the heat everywhere else? Here, it's expected to hit 93F, but with humidity. And it IS the heat combined with the humidity, no matter what anyone else tells you. Like walking into a sauna. Gross.......

Happy weigh-in day! Good luck to all!

Opening night went VERY well, except I made two little girls cry, cause they missed their cue and screwed up an entire scene. C'est la vie. Bet they'll be on cue tonight.

pssst...I don't make it a practice to make children cry, by the way, that sounded really harsh. Have a great weekend, all!

Congratulations, Jody.......I knew you'd have a good opening.
Be careful about that child abuse.   Just kidding, of course.
I'm sure everyone was on edge the first night. I know how to smooth over hurt feelings----buy everyone Harry Potter books. Now that would cost you a forturen, wouldn't it. :)

Where is everyone else??????? It's been a quiet week around here.

Hi,
It's been a busy week for me. I've been in a sign language workshop all week. It's been real intense but fun. I learned a lot. I had a KILLER migraine yesterday. My head hurts a little still today but not to where I can't stand it.

Jody, glad the play went good. How long does it run? Now about making those kiddos cry...... ;)

Tina, what's new with you?

Amy, are Amanda's bags packed? I'm ready for my company.

Tammy, did you survive the gargage sell?

Tammy, are you home yet? I can't remember.
Hope you had a super trip. We want to hear all about Tim's trip, too.

Hi everyone!

It has been a worldwind week here. I have been putting the finishing touches for our big July BBQ that my husband and I have. We have at total of 18 adults and 14 kids this year. (I know I am crazy)

We had an inch of rain, I almost forgot what it was.

Jody - Congrats on the opening night. I knew it would be a good one.

Sue - Yes, Amanda's packed. I hope you are ready for her. What time do you want to meet on Sunday?

Tina

Evening,
Amy, you are really ambitious. Only an inch of rain? We had 5 inches yesterday!
Mimi, I miss you girl. Please get on that computer and post!
Sis, you are also missed. We haven't heard anything from you about your daughter.
Susan, it sounds like you had a very busy week. I'm sorry about that migrane.
Jody, how did it go tonight?????
I am so glad for the weekend, even if rain is forecast.
Take care and drink water. That's my goal for the weekend-----6 glasses a day.:)
