My goal for July will be to walk 50 miles.

07-01-2005, 09:51 AM

Good Morning Gals

I got in 2.25 miles this morning with my hubby :smug: We were out and about at 5:30 this morning and what a beautiful morning it is! The weather finally broke and the humidity is so much lower. I have all my windows open for the first time in weeks -
what a great feeling!! :sunny:

Good to see you Mrs Beasley - you did WONDERFUL last month!! Wow! 55miles... I'm impressed :^:

Good to see that you'll be joining us, Schatzi :flow1:

Hi Amy! I loved your new picture!! I still think you are a DOLL! I hope your move is going well... I am so sorry I haven't been around... it's just been so hard to get on when hubby is home and with all the activities. If I had a laptop it would be great!! Maybe for Christmas this year ;)

Hi Cathy... how are you? I see that you have been chuggin' along with your workouts and life too :goodvibes

Hi Dinah, Did you make your 50 miles? I saw you were hoping to by the end of June :^:

Hi Trixie! How are you doing girl... you have been truckin' along with your miles I see... :goodvibes The weather sure does play havoc on you, doesn't it!?! It felt so good this morning with the humidity GONE when we walked! It is suppose to be nice like this through the whole weekend here in NE, Ohio - yeah!! :cp: I hope you have the same in Canada soon!

Hi Selina, I am so glad to see you stopped by - my goodness girl... you have your hands full! I think you are gaining from the stress and lack of good sleep... us gals are known to gain weight with lack of sleep. Hang in there sweeetzzz you will adjust soon and it will work out. You are such a great person to be taking in those children and loving them as you do... Bless your heart!

Is your hubby better from the pneumonia? *Prayers for all in your family!*

Hi Cindy-Gail, you did pretty good too!!! I only got in 27, but we were out there!! :D

Hi Smilan... welcome to the Walkers Thread... I do hope you'll be back ;)

I hope I haven't left anyone out... please know it was not deliberate and that I do hope to see you all back and posting... *Have a WONDERFUL Holiday!!!*

Hi everyone! Hi new gals!

Glad you like the new photo Sunny :D Ain't we cute. hahaha

Well June was a bust for me. But I hope July will be better. We got our bed and dresser and dogs moved in to the new place last night. Thats all we need. haha I love the new place. It couldn't be any better. We just happened to get a unit with a wood look laminate floor from the kitchen to the dining room to the bathroom. Its beautiful! The living room and bedroom have nice new pretty carpet. Not like most of the ugly apartment carpet you get. And I found out that 2 of the neighbors also have small dogs like my Foxy girl so its a nice animal neighborhood. :D Should get everything else moved over this 3 day weekend and still manage to have some fun. We're supposed to bike ride Sunday with friends. Ok, I'm done talking your ears off. haha

July goal: 20 miles

07-01-2005, 01:54 PM
Hello Everyone!!! How are you? I'm doing good. I got in 23.5 miles for June, my goal my 13, this month Im still aiming low b/c I dont know what the weather will be like and I would rather aim low and go over my goal than aim to high and not reach it, so I'm only aiming for 15 this month, but that doesnt mean I'll stop once I reach 15!! :) The weather is cooler here, it is supposed to be all weekend which will be nice, it is only 24 today (celcius) so Im hoping I will get some walking in today and tomorrow. :) It is canada day so we'll be going to see fireworks tonight. Well have a good weekend everyone!!

Margie B.

Hi, can I join in. Need some accountability and SunnyD invited me to join you all at this site. I'm a walker (or at least since April). Got in 52 miles for June and have a goal of 50 for July, not sure if it's attainable but I'll try. Don't like the hot & humid weather at all but don't like this fat either! Won't be able to get back on until after the 4th so hope everyone has a happy & safe 4th of July! - Margie

07-01-2005, 06:01 PM
Hi everybody, I finished off June with 48 miles, so I'm setting my July goal for 50. That means I've got to have more 3-mile days than I did last month, if I'm going to have any days off at all. Started off the month with a 2.5 mile WATP. I'll try to pick up another mile this evening or an extra tomorrow.

Good luck everybody!

Dinah

07-02-2005, 11:48 AM
Morning girls,

I walked a mile yesterday. My July goal is 32 miles. Good luck to us!

07-02-2005, 01:15 PM
Hello everyone!

I did a 3mi. watp tape this morning. July miles = 3.

I also rode the exercise bike 10mi.

Hope you all have a great holiday weekend. Be safe y'all :D

07-03-2005, 03:55 PM
Hello! How was everyones weekend? Mine went good, we had some cooler weather so I got in some walking, 3.5 miles! ;) My eating was horrible this weekend but I'm not giving up Im getting right back on track today!

07-05-2005, 12:13 PM

I have walked 4 miles so far in July with a goal of 32 miles.

I added up my miles so far since starting to walk on April 4 - 75.25 miles! Feels good!

07-05-2005, 10:51 PM
I walked 30 minutes, 1.5 miles today! I'm up to 5 miles now. How is everyone else doing?

07-06-2005, 10:08 AM
Hi all! :D I got in 2 miles in my new neighborhood. Uhhhh Thank You Very Much! hehe :p We found a nice trail to a park in a nice neighborhood where they have a pond with ducks. Very pretty. I'm proud of myself. I hope to walk further down the trail. Hope you're all doing well.

Like the new avatar and profile photo Trixie. ;) Too cute.

Later gals!

07-06-2005, 10:31 AM
well I posted a message yesterday but I don't see it.

anyway I was just explaining that I had planned to exercise every day during the 3 day weekend but had a terrible stomach bug and didn't get to do a thing.

I'm not gonna set a goal for July - just gonna do what I can - but I certainly need to do all I can!

Except for me - I see everybody is doing great with their walking :tread: :cp:

hope everybody has a great day!

07-06-2005, 11:16 AM

Another mile walked yesterday. It's just routine now to walk a mile every morning. I don't even think about it!

07-06-2005, 01:32 PM

Good Day Walkers...
Joe and I had a great 4th of July weekend together and really took time to rest and recoup. Didn't go to any parties or anything, just went to church on Sunday & Monday mornings and then came home to work in the yard and play some games... even caught a movie!! We saw *War of the Worlds* ---> Good Movie!! I remember the original and Steven S. stayed with the same story-line (I was pleased about that)... he just had more (& better) affects - awesome affects! On Saturday we went to a HUGE Flea Market and Oxen Roast w/ Mike & Peggy after our breakfast together --- what fun that was!!! I even found a nice dress for only $30.00 to wear to the wedding we are going to on July 16th (yes... another wedding). Last night we had our Photo's taken at the church for a directory, but the pics came out pretty good, so Joe & I ordered a few for ourselves & family --- phew, the cost!!!! To get one 2-8X10's and 3-5X7's with a matte finish (+tx) came to $177.00!!! :dizzy: We got them as Christmas gifts for my family... it's been a long time coming. And this Friday we have another Graduation Party to go to... so many this year! Saturday is quiet (so far) and Sunday after church we have a picnic to go to... that will be fun! It's with my Joe's Choir members, great folks! :bubbles:

Hi Amy, LUV your new shoe!!!! I am thrilled to hear that your move is going well and that you like your new place :D Did you make your bike ride on Sunday? Sounds like FUN!!

I have a pic for you of my Guido I think you will love!!! Here it is:

Guido thinks he's a people... he likes to drink from water bottles too!! Look at his cute nose in the bottle!!!

Hi Trixie, Great picture!!! You are a very pretty gal!!! You did a wonderful job with your walking for JUNE!!! :cp: for getting in the miles over the weekend! Did you have a good 4th weekend?

http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v242/SunnyD57/003_angelbearsusblinkiesw.gif Margie!!!
How great to see you here!!! I have allot of catching up to do at CER's (phew) I'll try to drop in tonight... It's great to see you :D WoW!! You did good with your miles... I only got in 27.75 miles with hubby for June and so far have 7.5 for July... we hope to hit 40 or 50 this month :crossed:

Hi Dinah, You did wonderful for June!!! I bet you make that 50 mile goal w/o a problem at all :D

Hi Cindy-Gail, It's always great to see you :flow2: You are doing an awesome job with your walking and should be so proud :smug:

Hi Mrs. Beasley, You are truckin' along I see... glad to see you stop by :flow1:

Hi Cathy, Are you doing okay sweetzzz... you do what you can, I too have days when I wonder how I even get out of bed in the mornings (at 5am!) :dizzy: Feel Better soon!!!! :grouphug:

Hope you are having a great Wednesday!!!

Hey gals... jumping in a few days late here... better late than never, right?!

June was pretty good, managed to get 45mi in - only fell 5 short of my goal. Not too bummed out about that. Setting July's goal at 50 as well.

So far this month is off to a good start. Racked up 12mi on Canada Day alone... and another 3 since. :)

Sounds like you're all off to a wonderful start this month! WTG, ladies! :D

Sunny... Glad to hear that you and Joe had a lovely holiday weekend... and that you were even able to take in a movie! :) Definitely sounds as though you have your hands full with all those parties and weddings and such! LOVED the picture of your Guido... cats have lovely personalities, don't they?

Cindy_Gail... Congrats on reaching the stage where walking has become force of habit! :) WTG! Keep up the great work!

cathy... Sorry to hear you were under the weather! Hope you're feeling better now! Take it easy, girl! :)

Amy... Sounds like you've moved into quite the lovely little apt! Congrats! :) Good work getting those miles in!

Trixie... 5mi thus far is fantastic! Keep up the amazing work!

mrs.beasley... Good for you for getting in your walking and biking miles!

Dinah... You kicked some tail last month! WTG! Keep it up, girl! :)

Margie B... Welcome! Best of luck in your weightloss journey!

Everyone else.... a BIG  ! :)

Well girls, I have a lot of stuff to finish up for this weekend's family reunion, so I better take off! Have yourselves a HAPPY and HEALTHY day today! Take care!

Hello everyone,

It's good to see everyone is starting the month off so well.

Kathy - I hope you're feeling better and can soon get back to your walking. It stinks being sick.

I did the walk and kick dvd tonight. July miles = 5.

Sunny - love the pic of your kitty drinking out of the bottle. I'm a cat lover myself.

Have a good night all. :)

Hi all and thanks for the welcomes. I walk in a city park about 7 miles from my house and have been walking there on and off a little over a year. Seriously walking since 4/4/5 and to date have logged 169.4 miles. Also walk at lunch when I can and it's not too humid or no lunch meeting.

SunnyD - loved the pic of Guido, he's so cute and I'm sure not a bit spoiled!?!?! You & Joe are doing great on your walking, glad you had a good weekend also, love flea markets, garage sales and all that type of stuff, fun just to go look, -- even better when you find a bargain!

Have a great day all, - will try to check in again soon- Margie

July miles walked = 7.5
Total walked since 4.4.5 = 169.4 :dancer:

Good Morning Walkers! http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v242/SunnyD57/Smilies/SU6F1913.gif

Joe & I had to make it a short walk this morning... he had to leave early today, so hopefully we'll get in a walk this evening also to make up for it. It's a beautiful Day here today - a bit overcast, but it feels great!

Hi MEL! How nice to see you back sweetzzz! You did a great job for June walking!!! :cp: Glad you enjoyed the pic of Guido... he's such a character!! We have another Grad party this Friday evening and a Picnic Party this Sunday. Then next weekend we have another Wedding to go to and in between I am helping my girlfriend plan her hubby's 50th (she works, so I am doing what I can to help) for the 23rd. I enjoy the parties, but wouldn't mind a slow up soon :^: - hoping to in August! WooHoo on your miles so far!!

Hi Mrs. Beasley! Happy you liked my pic... I have always been a cat-lover :D My very first word (written in my baby book ) was "Kitty" WTG on your miles!!! :cp:

Hi Margie! Glad you enjoyed my Guido's pic too... he is a Cutie!! And he's not one bit spoiled   none of them are... Super Job on your miles too!!!! :cp:

Good afternoon all!

I was feeling ambitious this morning so did the 3mi. watp tape with 5lb. weights followed by the walk and kick workout. July miles = 10.

It's a beautiful sunny day in the low 70's so far. Hope you all are enjoying nice weather today too.

Have a good day!

edited to add 10mi. on the exercise bike.

07-07-2005, 09:40 PM
Got in another 1.5 miles today! :) Puts me up to 6.5 for July so far!

07-08-2005, 11:41 PM
Hi all!

I didn't get to exercise til late tonight. I did the walk and jog dvd and the walk and kick dvd. July miles = 14mi.

I also rode the ex. bike for 10mi.

Hope that I don't have a hard time falling to sleep because of the exercise -- oh well, at least I got it done! :dizzy:

Have a great weekend everyone.

07-09-2005, 05:24 PM
Hello all!

Hope you are all enjoying a fine Saturday. I did the 4mi. watp tape this afternoon.

July miles = 18.

Hope to get in a little more later this evening.

07-09-2005, 05:33 PM
I cleaned for 6 hours today - that's my exercise for today! ;)

07-09-2005, 09:23 PM
Hi everybody! I'm up to 9.5 miles for the month, but I've got to get a speed on if I'm going to make my 50 in July -- I've got to catch up with mrs. beasley and macdees. I've added in strength training --- bought a Kathy Smith dvd called Lift Weights and Lose Weights. Today I did 20 minutes of lower body, 20 minutes of upper, 10 minutes of abs and legs. Whew!

We're getting a lot of rain today in North Florida from Dennis. We are to the east of where he will hit, but I am sorry for the people in the western panhandle who were so beaten up by Ivan last year.

You all are doing so great -- let's not forget to give ourselves a hug!!!

07-09-2005, 09:29 PM
Walked 30 minutes yesterday, and 15 today to walk to the grocery store and back so my bf and I could pick up dinner for ourselves, so I'm up to 8.5 miles! :) How is everyone else doing?? It is starting to warm up here again, but my mom got a family membership to the YMCA so hopefully once were moved and settled and I can make myself get to the gym more often, even though I know people who go there :( I guess I have to suck it up if I really want this eh!? Have a great saturday night and sunday everyone!

07-10-2005, 02:27 PM
Good Sunday afternoon everyone!

I did the walk/jog dvd and the walk/kick dvd this morning. (I figure that together they must be about 4mi.)

July miles = 22.

07-10-2005, 06:08 PM
Happy Sunday everyone. We're getting a lot of wind and rain from Hurricane Dennis, but the power has stayed on, so I was able to do a 3-mile WATP. So my July miles are up to 12.5 now. Yesterday I did upper, lower and ab work.

Dinah :dizzy:

07-11-2005, 11:31 AM
Mrs. Beasley - I would count what you did yesterday as as 4.5 miles ;) The walk & jog tape is 2.5 miles, and even tho I've never found on the Walk & Kick tape what it is suppose to be equal to, it has to be at least 2 miles.

Good for you girlie - that's a lot of walking and jogging and kicking! YOU GO GIRL!

everybody is doing great!

I went to bed early last night so I woke up on my own before 5 am this morning.

Did the 30 minute Walk & Kick video :cp:

July Miles = 4

07-11-2005, 01:25 PM

You guys are awesome!

I have 11 miles in so far this month (goal is 32 miles). I also got in a 45-minute swim last Friday. I bought a podometer for myself as a reward. Now I just have to figure out how to read it, etc.!

07-11-2005, 11:30 PM
Cindy, you will love your pedometer. Just make sure you measure your stride right. You might have to adjust it a couple of times. For instance, my sister and I walk together sometimes and we have the same pedometer but we were showing different distances. So I had to re-calibrate mine. You could also check it against a measured distance like a track.

I did a 4-mile WATP. It's called Fat Burning and she has the instructors from her studio exercising with her. It's very good and has some interval jogging in it. I did a little of the jogging, but I have to be tender with my feet. :( It also has 15 minutes of leg/ab work at the end.

So, I'm up to 16.5 for July! Look out, Mrs. Beasley!!

07-12-2005, 04:20 PM
Hello everyone,

Looks like you're all doing well with your walking. Keep it up!!!!! :D

Dinah -- I think you'll surpass me rather quickly as I probably won't be doing much walking for the next several days. I have been having a problem with my lower back -- last month on the right side, now it's the left side. This morning I could hardly walk across the room it hurt so bad. I'm hoping that if I relax a bit that it will go away. If not, I have a dr. appt. in a week or so and can ask about it then.

Hope you all are having a great Tuesday. :)

07-12-2005, 04:37 PM
I did 2 miles this morning

July Miles = 6

07-12-2005, 09:46 PM
Mrs. B, I'm so sorry that your back is bothering you. I hope it is just a temporary thing and you can get back to walking soon. Take it easy, though.

I did a 2-mile dvd - walk and burn or something like that. I'm at 18.5 now.

I'll be traveling for my job the next couple of days, so I won't be walking again until probably Friday.

Dinah :)

07-13-2005, 10:57 AM
I did a 30 minute 2.5 mile Walk & Jog video this morning :cp:

July Miles = 8.5

07-13-2005, 11:36 AM

Good Morning Gals... :sunny:

Hi Mrs. Beasley, we had Beautiful weather over the weekend, but this morning when I went out for my walk it was miserable!! Joe & I went out at 5:30am thinking it would be cooler... NOT!!! It was 75* and so thick with humidity that we couldn't breathe - so we cut it shorter then usual this morning. It looks and feels like rain, but we get nothing and really need it!

How are you these days?? Working hard I see... You go girl!!! :cheer: Did you fall asleep okay after the late night workout? I cannot workout late at all - it DOES keep me awake! :tired: Awesome job!!

Awww, I just read that you are having problems with your back, sweetz... I hope it's not serious and that you feel better soon!!!

Hey there Trixie, you are doing GREAT! 8.5 miles in so far... And you have super goals posted! Wishing you success :flow1: I think you should be very proud of yourself and your efforts... you deserve to go to the YMCA as much as the people you know do!! ;) If I were there, I'd give you the Biggest HUG! :goodvibes

Hi Cathy, up to coming by my place to clean  You are a cleaning machine!!! :jig: I bet that you get in to what's equal to at least 2-3 miles (if not more) of walking with your cleaning!! Good for you!!! You have a logged 8.5, but I bet it's much higher then you know... ;)

Hi Dinah, what a trooper you are!!! :cp: With hoping that H-Dennis doesn't knock out your ele. so you can exercise - I'd be hoping it knocked it out so I had an excuse not to...  18.5 MILES :bravo: girl!!

Hi Cindy Gail, you are doing GREAT as well  11 in for the month already! :bravo: You'll make that 35 in no time!! :cp:

Time for me to get movin' ...

Love the little dragon Sunny. That brightened my day today :D

I got in 1/2 a mile last night. Had to walk at 9:30 to avoid the heat but it was nice. All I had been doing since my birthday last week was eat cake. Ugh. Now that I'm 30 (gasp! :faint: ) I really need to start taking better care of myself.

Oh, I'm not sure how to count it but yesterday the power went out in our office and they let us go out to jobsite to stay indoors so we walked this huge high school that our company designed. We walked for 2 hours inside and outside. Then we went over to a new elementary school and walked for a little while. It was awesome. I've never gotten to go "out in the field" before. Well I'd better go.

07-14-2005, 10:55 AM
hey there walkin buddies!
sorry I've just been running in and out of here. It is crazy busy at work so I'm just posting quickly. Looks like everybody is doing good! keep up the good work!

Did 2 miles this morning

July Miles = 10.5

07-15-2005, 08:34 AM
Hello to everyone, I would love to join you with your walking. I started walking in June and I am now addicted. I walk our high school track before daylight since this Texas heat gets going early. I followed SunnyD over here, read the post and feel this is a great place to be for some accountability.

Look forward to meeting everyone, takes me awhile to get name straight. :D

Have a great day....Diane

Sounds like you all are doing well! Sorry I've been away. Typing one handed, holding one of the babies, so no time to say much. My lasik was great.. 20/20 in my rt eye now! Emily is sick, going to the doc 2day. My other kids are well, so I'm happy, even tho I am up to 218. I'm sad that unless I focus and write every bite down, I overeat. Stress has always been my downfall. Still not getting much sleep at nite, and can't sleep in the daytime bc I have all my kids. I think when she sleeps all nite I will do better bc I'll be more rested. I'm still trying to drink my water, not eat fried foods, etc. Wish me luck please!!!

Take care, have a good week!

You will be okay, once things settle and the babies adjusts to their new surroundings. If you are not getting sleep it's a huge reason for you to gain weight - especially with women. We really need our sleep! We hold allot of water weight and swell when we lack the sleep we need!

I'll keep you in my prayers sweetz! You'll be okay, try hard to get your perspectives back & rein in those bad habits... you have come too far to lose this battle now!!! (((Selina)))

*God Bless*

Awww thanks for the birthday wish Sunny. I had a great birthday. :D

poor Selina. :( hang in there girl. i'm sure things will slow down some for you after a while.

i'm not doing that great on diet OR exercise. but tomorrow is another day. bravo to all you ladies getting in your miles. later - Amy

07-16-2005, 10:22 AM
Hi everybody! I had to travel for my work for a couple of days. That always puts me behind in exercise and too far ahead in eating!

After driving all day to get home, I was stiff and the last thing I felt like, but the first thing I did, was put in a Leslie Sansone dvd and did 3 miles with weights. It relieved the stress of traveling all day.

So now I'm up to 21.5. Gotta hurry to get to 50 for the month though.

Sunny, thank you for your cheery thoughts and prayers. I really appreciate your efforts to make everyone feel special!

My thought for the day is for everyone to take it one day or even one hour at a time. DON'T beat yourself up but lift yourself up. Even if you just do a little, give yourself a reward!

Dinah ;)

Happy Birthday Amy! sorry I missed it!

Selina - I hope you'r sleeping!

I did a 60 minute 4 mile WATP video today

July Miles = 14.5

hope everybody has a great weekend!

07-16-2005, 06:54 PM
I wasn't a good girl today, didn't get my walk in. Tomorrow is another day!! Wtg Cathy you are doing good girl, keep it up. I sure do feel yucky when I don't get my walking done. I did buy a yoga tape today, think I will fit that in sometime too. I need all the help I can get.

Have a great weekend all, Diane

07-17-2005, 09:15 PM
I went down to the bike trail and walked three miles this morning. I felt like a gearhead with everything I strapped on -- pedometer, heart rate monitor, fanny pack to carry keys, id, toilet paper, cell phone, plus my walkman.

For some reason about a half-mile into it, I got a shin splint on my left leg really bad. I slowed down, did some stretches and it finally went away. It's not because I started out too fast, because I was so slow it took almost 20 minutes to get my heart rate up to target zone. This happens to me almost everytime I walk on the bike trail. Any thoughts?

I'm up to 27.5 miles for the month. Yay! I have you all to thank for giving me the idea to set a mileage goal. That really keeps me motivated!

Hope you all had a great weekend and have a happy week to come.

Dinah

Whew! I'm exhausted! :tired: We tried to have a garage sale today. Not very successful. We hadn't even gone through everything so it took us more time to get organized and only 1 person came by. But I definately got a workout. :wl: Walking in and out of the house carrying stuff from 8am-2:30pm. My legs, back and arms are sore! No more walking lately. I'm starting to wonder if I sabotage myself. My boyfriend mad a delicious meal last night, pretty healty-porkchops with an apple/honey mustard sauce and green beans. But I just had to ruin it by having a piece of leftover cake afterwards. I'm never going to lose weight this way. :tantrum: Ahhh. Ok, thanks for letting me throw a temper tantrum. haha Well tomorrow is another day. Hope you're all doing well. Later.

07-19-2005, 12:26 PM

Shoequeen, sorry to hear about your sale. I've been through that too!

I bought a pedometer and that's been fun. I realized I've been walking more than I thought! I have 18.5 miles so far in July with a goal of 32.

My diet has been very bad, broasted chicken and a chocolate malt last night! Yikes.

07-19-2005, 10:49 PM
Well girls, just a few moments to post...

Did really well the past few days: Sunday 10mi. Monday 4mi. Today 4mi. So that brings my total so far up to 33. I'm aiming for another 12 by Friday and a combined 10 for the weekend (there's a fabulous car show on Saturday and a children's festival on Sunday so lots of walking shall be had!). Looks like I'll meet July's goal! :)

Sounds like you're all doing well. Keep up the great work, ladies! :)

I'll post more tomorrow....

Stay happy and healthy!

07-20-2005, 10:11 AM
good morning walking buddies!

I got up at 4:30 this morning just like a little ole lady.
Just woke up and started thinking and couldn't get back to sleep.

So I got up and did a 60 minute 4 mile WATP video :cp:

July Miles = 18.5

07-20-2005, 11:06 AM

Good Morning!

What a nice cool walk Joe & I had this morning, it was such a relief compared to the last few weeks! Although, I can feel the humidity climbing again! :p

You are so *Welcome* Amy :goodvibes I'm so glad to hear that you had a great day! But I am so sorry to hear that your garage sale wasn't so successful... that's the problem with those, it's a hit & miss kinda thing. I have never had one myself - I'd rather just give it all to a charity then to go though all that

Hi Dinah, Sounds like you are doing wonderfully! Wow! 27.5... yup, I think setting a goal is very helpful :smug: As for the cramp... are you getting enough potassium (banana's & molasses help) when you sweat allot you lose that and so you may need to add a banana or something into your diet...

Food / Serving / Potassium (mg)
Banana 1 medium 467
Potato, baked with skin 1 medium 721
Prune juice 6 fluid ounces 530
Prunes, dried 1/2 cup 633
Orange juice 6 fluid ounces 354
Orange 1 medium 237
Tomato juice 6 fluid ounces 400
Tomato 1 medium 273
Raisins 1/2 cup 598
Raisin bran cereal 1 ounce 437
Artichoke, cooked 1 medium 425
Lima beans, cooked 1/2 cup 478
Acorn squash, cooked 1/2 cup (cubes) 448
Spinach, cooked 1/2 cup 419
Sunflower seeds 1 ounce 241
Almonds 1 ounce 211
Molasses 1 tablespoon 293

Oh, and just make sure you take a little bit of stretching time *before* you walk --- don't over-stretch, just *gently* stretch --- it may help too ;)

Good to see you Diane, don't get too down on yourself for missing a day - Joe & I couldn't walk yesterday either, but we were out there bright and early this morning :D How did you like the Yoga??

Cindy Gail, isn't it wonderful to find out that you are dong better then you thought! :cp: Awesome girl!!

Hi Mel!! How wonderful to see you pop in again... how's life been treating you sweetz :^: Wow! 33 miles - Yeah!!!

 Cathy, I was like that on Monday!! I so wanted to just lay there like a dead fish. but didn't and was glad I pushed myself to walk... you and I are neck -n- neck w/ miles ;)

Gotta run...

07-20-2005, 04:02 PM
Hey girls... hope you're all off to a happy and healthy day today! :)

Sunny... I'm so glad that you and Joe are able to get out most mornings for a nice long walk! It's such a great way to connect with each other... and getting a little exercise in is just the icing on the cake! :) How's everything else going? You're feeling good, I hope! :)

cathy... Good on you for starting the day off on the right food with a 4mi walk! That's fabulous! I really wish I could muster up the motivation to walk first thing in the a.m.! :)

Cindy_Gail... You're doing very well... over 1/2 way to meeting your July goal! That's fabulous, girl! Keep up the great work! :)

Amy... Happy be-lated birthday! :) I hope you enjoyed your special day! :) Sorry to hear that the garage sale didn't go over quite as planned, but it definitely sounds as though you got some good exercise in, what with all the walking back and forth and packing 'round objects and such. Good for you!

Dinahgirl... Good on you for getting over 27mi in thus far! That's amazing! Keep it up and you'll get there in NO time flat! :)

Selina... So very sorry to hear that lil' Emily was under the weather! I really hope she's feeling better by now! :) I'm also sorry to hear that you're still not getting a whole lot of sleep, hopefully the late-night feedings will slow down soon. :) Please take care of yourself... and pls try not to stress too much about the gain... it'll come off again once things slow down a bit. I'm sure of it! :)

Everyone else... a great big

As for me... All's good here. Tavis and I will be taking DD out for another 4mi walk this evening! We enjoyed them so much last summer but kinda lost momentum once Fall arrived. It's such a great way to spend our evening... we can really catch up on each other's lives. :)

I had another appt. with the neurologist on Monday and the results from the CT-scan came out fine. *Sigh of relief* He put me on some new medication for blood pressure (mine is very low) and we'll see how that goes. Hopefully it'll help with the migraines. I'll go back to see him again in mid-Sept. :)

As far as weight-loss is concerned, I've decided not to worry about what number the scale reads... instead I'll just concentrate on the size of clothes I wear. I'm currently wear clothes in the 8-10 range (depends on TOM and what have you) and am aiming for a 5/6. I'm not thaaaat far off... hoping to be there by early Sept.

Well, ladies, I should get going. Lots to get done today. I hope all of you have a fabulous day today! Take care! Type y'all later!

07-20-2005, 07:28 PM
Woohoo! I'm at 32.5 miles for July as of today. I am SO excited to have actually set a goal and now it seems like I'm going to make it! Thank you all so much for being here and for the encouragement!

I always do my workout after I get home from work. My husband gets home later than me so it means I have the living room to myself if I'm doing WATP. Last night I ate dinner with a friend at Olive Garden, so I didn't work out. I should have though after eating all that pasta! :o It was good, though.

Sunny, thanks for the information about potassium. I knew that, but keep forgetting it. I just cannot keep all the nutritional info in my head.

Hope everybody is staying cool and having a good week!

Dinah ;)

07-21-2005, 11:54 AM
Hello Everyone! I just got my internet back today, we moved Friday and I havnt had it since then! I havnt been doing much walking b/c we have been busy packing, moving and unpacking, but I did go for a walk tuesday, so I'm up to 11 miles, plus all the exercise I got from moving lol I hope everyone is doing well! :)

07-21-2005, 01:40 PM
Hey girls, how are you all doing today? Great, I sure do hope! :)

I didn't end up going for my walk last night but will do "the route" twice today (once in an hr or so and then again this evening). That will bring my miles up to 41. :)

Anyways gals, I should take off... have to get ready so I can get those miles in! Type you all later. Have a HAPPY and HEALTHY day today! :)

07-21-2005, 02:14 PM
Good for you Dinahgirl! It is awesome that you're making your goal.

Sunny your morning walk sounded lovely. We woke up at 5am and toyed with the idea of walking but just didn't do it. Instead he cooked me french toast. I'm sure that was much healthier. ;)

Life is good for me right now. I'm so happy again. Now if my body could just catch up. Oh well. Congrats to all of you making your goal. Later - Amy

07-21-2005, 03:08 PM
I'm finally back ladies.
When I was last here in April, my mother had been put in the hospital with a heart attack. She ended up having a triple bipass, and her recovery has been very slow. She is now doing well, breathing without the oxygen, and has even lost alot of her excess weight. Truth be known, she is healthier now than she was before the heart attack. So....with her on the mend I am now able to concetrate on myself again. To catch up, I have joined a gym and am loving it. I started it Monday, the 18th and haven't missed a workout yet. I use the treadmill (fatburner mode) for 60 minutes, and am doing some weights too. Thank you all for your well wishes, and I am so glad to be back!!!
Have a great day, and God Bless.

07-22-2005, 02:03 PM
Hey girls, I sure hope you're all off to a happy and healthy start today! :)

caprice... WB! I'm glad to hear that your mom is on the mend... and has really focussed on her health! That's great! :) Good on you for joining the gym... it sounds as though you're really enjoying it! Haven't missed a workout yet? Congrats on sticking with it! :) Keep up the great work!

Amy... Glad to hear that life is going very well for you! The rest will fall into place, I'm sure of it! :) Take care.

Trixie... Moving definitely counts as exercise... it's ridiculously hard work! :) Great job getting those 11mi in thus far! Keep it up! :)

Dinah... Amazing job getting all 32.5mi in! That's phenom! :) Setting a monthly goal definitely gives you something to strive for and stick to! :)

Everyone else... I hope you're all keeping in tip-top shape! :) Keep up the great work, ladies! :)

As for me, I did manage to get all 8mi in yesterday so I'm up to 41 for this month. :) I've also been eating totally OP (less than 1200cals) and drank just shy of 4L of water yesterday. :dizzy:

Today looks good... will continue to eat OP... drink a bazillion glasses of water... and walk another 4mi. It's becoming routine again. Yay!

Anyways girls, I should take off. I hope all of you have a wonderful day! Take care!

07-23-2005, 06:10 AM
Good Sat. morning ladies, I don't know about you but I am glad it is the weekend. :D It has been a busy week around here for me, I keep my grandchildren ages 3 and 6 wks. so they needless to say keep me hopping.
I have done good with my walking despite the horrible Texas heat and humidity. :( I'm up to 41 mi. for the month!! Now for me that is quite an accomplishment and I enjoy it so much which helps alot.

It sounds like everyone is also doing great with their walking. Doesn't it feel good to make your goals?

Now....if I could get my eating better controlled. :o

Have a great day girls and let's get out their and move our feeties.

Hugs to all......Diane

07-23-2005, 09:50 AM
Diane, I know what you mean about heat and humidity. Here in dry, sandy, piney north Florida, it is dreadful! But I didn't let it beat me down yet. I walked 3 miles after work yesterday on the bike trail. That last 3/4 mile was a doozy, but -- "left-right-left-right" -- I made it. I just had to put my head in another place and push through.

Just wanted to pass on that I have a Walkman cassette player. It's getting harder and harder to find cassettes but collagevideo has a pretty good selection. I bought a Leslie Sansone walking cassette (there are 3 levels of cassettes) and a Kathy Smith set of three called Walk Fit. This will allow me to walk inside even if hub has dibs on the tv, or in a hotel room when I'm traveling, or just use them while I'm outside walking.

I'm at 35.5 miles now -- marching toward my July goal of 50.

Stay cool, everybody!

Dinah

07-23-2005, 11:16 AM
Hello Everyone! I got in 4.5 miles on Thursday, walked downtown to the bank with my mom and we walked around downtown doing some window shopping then walked home but stopped at the grocery store up the street for a few things first, so Im now at 15.5! :) I didnt think I would meet my goal this month just b/c of moving and everything being thrown out of wack! lol Anyway were going to Grand Bend today to the Motorplex, so I will probably get in a little walking there around the strip and what not. Have a great weekend everyone!!

07-23-2005, 01:44 PM
good morning gang!

I did a 30 minute Walk & Kick video = 2 miles
plus some situps and double leg lifts
along with some picking up around here

July Miles = 20.5

07-23-2005, 02:26 PM
WOW! Everyone is doing GREAT! WTG ladies! Keep up the fantastic work! :)

Diane... Sounds as though you get your fair share of exercise with those 2 lil' grandkids of yours! :D That's so great! :) I'm sure they enjoy spending so much time with their grandma! :) 41mi??? That's truly amazing! *Big ol' pat on the back*

Trixie... Good work on reaching your goal! Isn't it such a good feeling?! :) Glad to hear you had a nice afternoon out with your mom... and on foot, to boot! :) *Thumbs up*

cathy... As always, you're doing VERY well! I really wish I could muster up all that energy first thing in the a.m.! Me? Well, I'm barely capable of rolling outta bed! Anyways lady, keep up the FANTASTIC work!

Everyone else... I hope you're all keeping well and having a great weekend! Take care of yourselves! :)

As for me... I managed to get a little over 4L of water in yesterday! I got tonnes of exercise in, what with all the running to the bathroom! Food has been right on target... even with a little splurge of low fat tofu ice-cream. I never in a million yrs thought I would consider tofu an indulgence, nor did I think I'd ever even try it... but it wasn't bad. Actually, after I got over the fact that it was tofu, I quite enjoyed it! :) DH, DD and I also racked up another 4mi last night so that brings me to *drum roll* 45mi! Yip! Yip!

Today looks good... lots-o water, good eats and a heckava lot of walking (we're going to a car show tonight and will walk downtown and back). Tomorrow looks about the same, we're taking DD to a children's festival, and again will walk downtown and back. :)

Anyways girls, I should take off. I hope you all have a KILLER weekend! Take care of yourselves! Best wishes!

07-23-2005, 07:53 PM
Hello everyone,

I have walked 21.75 miles so far in July. I am definitely on track. The heat and humidity are buggers here too so I try to go early in the morning. It won't hurt me to sweat a little more!

I am disappointed that I have not lost much weight though. I think I need to do something different.

07-24-2005, 09:14 PM
Just on long enough to post my miles... 5 last night and another 3.5 this afternoon. Plus DH and I are planning on fitting in 4 more after dinner this evening. That *WILL* bring my total up to 57.5! :)

ETA: Got the 4mi in this evening... plus one! :)

07-24-2005, 09:34 PM
I did 2 mile WATP with weights, so now I'm up to 37.5 for the month. Once again I repeat how great it is to have a goal. It has really kept me motivated in all this heat!

Mel, you are the queen!

Dinah ;)

07-25-2005, 01:10 AM
Got in some walking yesterday at the Grand Bend Motorplex walking around looking at all the nice cars and then today my bf and I went to London for the Good Charlotte concert (his bday present to me) and we walked around a bit before the concert, so I'm up to 18 miles for July! No very many, but at least I surpassed my goal, I wasnt expecting to get too much with the heat, and the busyness of moving lol Better to aim low and actually acheive and surpass it than to aim too high and set yourself up for disappointment I suppose! :)

Anyway have a great week everyone!! :) Hard to believe July is almost over already!

07-25-2005, 03:09 PM
Happy Monday, ladies! Hope everyone is off to a great start this week! :)

Dinahgirl... 37.5mi is PHENOM! WTG, girl! You're so right about setting a monthly goal, it really motivates you to keep pushing forward! :) I'm truly impressed by your determination! Keep up the great work!

Trixie... 18mi thus far is AMAZING! And, what's more... you surpassed your goal! That's great! :) Glad to hear you had a fantastic weekend what with the trip to the Motorplex and your bf's birthday concert! :) Sounds like a killer time to me! :)

Everyone else... I hope you're doing well! Take care!

Me... I'm doing alright. Had to head downtown this a.m. to the bank so I managed another 3mi in (there and back). I think I might take tonight off from walking, with the MIL coming to visit tomorrow, there's lots to get done in time for "inspection".

Well, I hope you all have a fabulous day! Take care and I'll type you all later!

07-25-2005, 03:51 PM
Thank you all so much for your support. I need it! Things are better, although now I have six kids under the age of 7! LOL. Two infants, two toddlers who are potty training and two school aged boys. All boys but Emily. LOL. No, I'm not a glutton for punishment. Ha ha! We love what we do but it's hard at first. The new kids coming in have had traumatic experiences, they are both ill, they miss their grandma, who, altho neglectful, loves them. They lack of how to bathe properly, and the habit to brush their teeth each morning and night, and they lack of manners, which is no big deal because they are great learners and are doing so well with the little bit of guidance we've tried to give them already. They lack of clothing, which we are obtaining now for them. One came with only a pair of soft houseshoes.

So far so good. It's always crazy when we lose kids and get new ones, but it always feels like we just gave birth. We get so excited when new ones come to stay. It's fun to get to know them and what they like to eat and do. We are parents, temporary ones, but parents to two new kids! Nathaniel is 7, and Dylan is 5. Emily is doing well, as is Christian, our two. Ethan and Nakize are doing well too, both of whom are awaiting placement with their adoptive families. (Not sure at this point if Nakize will be able to go back to his grandma or not. The judge ordered him to be placed for adoption, but she is still fighting for him. We like her and hope she can get him back. She is actually his great-grandmother, but she's only about 50 or so. Both her daughter and granddaughter have passed away from heart trouble.)

Anyhoo, so my DH took all four older kids to Astroworld today. I am lucky enough to get to clean all day while the house is somewhat empty, just me and two babies. I value the time tho. At least it's quieter for a little while. :D

I hate to stop in and spill about my life then go, but I have to. I just have sooo much to do, you have no idea. I did read thru some of your posts. Welcome to any newbies and happy birthday to those I've missed. Take care and keep me in your thoughts. Send me 'Strength to Avoid Chocolate' good thoughts! Thannnnnk you! Hope you all are doing better than me~ :D

07-25-2005, 08:31 PM
Soon2B, you wear me out just reading all that you do. But bless you for taking in those children...there is definitely a place in heaven for you.

Trixie...you're doing great for all the other stuff that's filled up your life as well!

Macdeez, thanks for all the greetings and for being a great role model!

I did 3 WATP miles today with weights, so I'm at 40.5 this month. Part of the trick for me has been to post my miles on a spread sheet. I can look at what I did for the past five months and see the progress I'm making. In June, I didn't even have a goal and I made 48 miles. I'm debating about upping my goal for August or just keeping it at 50 for awhile or at least until it gets cooler.

Have a great day everbody!

Dinah :)

07-25-2005, 11:10 PM
Hey everyone! I am new here, and my primary method of exercise is walking. I do WATP, walking the "Fat track" as we all call it here in our town when it isn't too HOT, and I do the gazelle, which I think is just like walking but gets the heart rate up quicker with no stress on my knees. It's the same kind of movement, sorta, and takes about the same time to get in a mile.

I am in milestone 2 of the Webwalking USA program to "walk" across the country. My goal is to complete milestone 3 this week, which is just a bit over 40 miles (don't have the paper with me). Seems like a lot, but I did milestone 2 all in last week and it was about the same distance. I jump on the gazelle during the day for short mile bursts, whenever the kids allow it. Then in the evening I either do WATP and the kids join me, or I gazelle the rest of my miles when they are in bed. Doing some during the day and a longer workout at night keeps me feeling good all day. There are some perks to being a SAHM!

I hope to get to know everyone here...I seriously need to hear from others who struggle with weight as I do and are committed to succeeding!

07-26-2005, 11:20 AM
Welcome Purplefirefly!
and hello to all my good walkin buddies!

I did a 30 minute 2 mile WATP video this morning.

July Miles = 22.5

07-26-2005, 12:41 PM
G'mornin' ladies! :) Hope you're all off to a wonderful start this a.m.! :)

cathy... Great work getting those 2mi in this morning! 22.5 in total is PHENOM! Keep up the amazing work!

Purplefirefly... Welcome! REALLY looking forward to getting to know you! :) Best of luck! :)

Dinah... 40.5mi is FANTASTIC! It sure is satisfying to see the monthly results before your very eyes... isn't it? Keep things at the pace that's best for you and increase whenever you're ready to! :) Keep on truckin'! :)

Selina... My goodness girl, you certainly have your hands full! You and your DH are the most wonderful ppl for opening your hearts and home to children. I'm really impressed by your compassion. :) I do hope things settle down at least a little for your though... don't suppose it's possible to find even 1/2hr to yourself, huh? VERY best wishes sent your way, and pls keep us posted when you can. :) Take care.

As for me... I took last night off from walking and will do so again tonight. That being said, I have about 4hrs of cleaning ahead of me... yes, MIL arrives this afternoon. :fr:

After taking quite a long break from being OP (eating and exercise wise), I was a little leary getting back on the scale last week. It read 152.5 (up from 145 a few months ago). I then decided to make Tuesday's my official WI day. I'm down to 147.5. A loss of 5lbs! :dancer: Nice! I'm feeling as though things are moving in the right direction again. Now if I could only get my self-image to align with everything else. Anyone else have that problem? I know my clothes are fitting better... but I still see myself as the size I was when I began this. Odd?

Anyhow girls, I must take off for now. I hope you all have a wonderful day! Take care and type you all later!

07-26-2005, 01:06 PM
Thanks for the welcome, can't wait to get to know you all as well. The dreaded MIL...good luck and hope you stay sane Mel!

I haven't done any walking yet today, but my goal is 8 miles. I will make most of them quickly on the gazelle when the kids go to bed, but want to get in some during the day as well. The kids love doing WATP, and it's so good for them, so I might do the 2 mile with them before naptime...tires them out!

07-27-2005, 01:37 PM
Hey ladies, I hope everyone is fairing well! :) But I have to ask.... where are all of you??? :?:

MIL arrived yesterday late afternoon, we visitied for a little bit, went for dinner, and a little venture downtown to see the sights. She and her sisiter are now off to Sask. for a family reunion. So with such a short visit, I was able to stay on my best behavior. I really wish I got along with her better....! Ah well....!

Food was a little off-plan yesterday... I stayed within my cals but I skipped my planned eating due to being so rushed to clean the house. When I did eat though, it was healthy so that's good at least.

Can't wait to get out walking tonight... having missed 2 days in a row, I'm really feeling like I need to get-up-and-go! :)

How about all of you? What have you girls been up to?

Purplefirefly... good for you for setting your daily goal @ 8mi! That's awesome! You'll be at goal in NO time flat! :) How's everything else going? Great, I sure do hope!

Well, I must be off. I hope you all have a wonderful day! Take care!

My aim was for 8 miles yesterday, but I only made 7. My knee got to hurting right as I started the last one, and that is always my signal to stop or be out of it the next day. There's nothing wrong with it, just gets stressed if I do too much. I guess I am old already

Everything else is going fine. We are getting ready to go to the mountains for the weekend with some friends and I am looking forward to lots of swimming...which I love, but don't get to do much of around here because our local pool is horrible, cut my little girls feet and hands all up so we don't go back there.

I also don't get along with my MIL, but she is more the type to smile to my face then call my hubby while he's at work and complain about every little thing I do! He of course tells me sometimes, but not always, so when I say somthing to her he later tells me "why did you tell her that? now i'll hear bout it the next two weeks!" :p Of course, she complains about everything so it doesn't matter what I say!

This week she is complaining that I buy too many flowers for the yard...which, I have no clue why that even affects her at all...okay, enough venting. Glad you were an angel, you deserve a metal.

Theresa... 7mi is fabulous! :) It's great that you listen to what your body tells you, it's important to do so. Sounds as though you have quite the weekend ahead of you up in the mountains! I'm sure you and your family will have a wonderful time! Sorry to hear that you don't get on with your MIL very well either. It's tough. Mothers have such strong ties to their sons... much the same way fathers are with daughters. My MIL raised my DH on her own so they are very close. :) I respect that. Whole-heartedly, in fact. She has just never taken a liking to me and is actually quite insulting to my face. I guess it's just one of those things. All I can do is my part in the situation. :) Best wishes! Here's hoping things get better! :)

Good morning, ladies! I just registered and love what I'm seeing so far on this forum! I have been a walker off and on for 3 years. I love WATP (hubby says I have way too many tapes!). When I started 3 years ago I made 2 changes: stop drinking pop and start doing Leslie's tapes. I lost 26 pounds. A year and a half ago, when the pounds started creeping back, I bought a treadmill. Then I joined Curves. Now I'm at my heaviest (was 218) and I'm back to doing WATP. I started back on July 5 and have done 40.5 miles so far this month! My goal started out at 7 miles per week for the first 2 weeks. Then I increased it to 10 a week. Next week (Monday), I turn 39 and my goal is to lose 40 pounds by my 40th birthday. I welcome any tips you ladies might want to share.

Michelle... WELCOME! :) I really wish you all the best on your weight loss journey! :) Great job getting over 40mi in your first month back! That's phenom... keep up the amazing work and you'll be down those 40lbs in no time! :cb: You made a great decision in cutting out the pop... that was definitely my downfall as well. I've since eliminated it from my diet as well. It's such addictive stuff... at least for me anyway. Well, anything sweet is, actually. :^: So, are you still a member of Curves? I've heard such great things about it. :) Anyhow, Michelle, best wishes! I really look forward to getting to know you better! :)

Theresa... Have a wonderful weekend away! :) Take care!

Everyone else... a great big  !!!

As for me, I got in 4mi last night and will do at least another 4 tonight. Would love to get 6 in, but we'll see how it goes. Aiming for 4L of water... although I'm off to a pretty slow start this morning. That's pretty much it from this end of things.

I must be off. Lots to get done today. Hope everyone is well! Take care and I'll type you all later! :)

Hi fellow walkers,

I have walked 28.25 miles in July (goal is 32 miles) but I'm getting very discouraged. My weight does not change so I feel like I'm doing something wrong. Or maybe I'm just not doing enough. My weight has barely changed and I've been walking daily since April.

I might switch from walking to something else or in addition to the walking. I'm open to suggestions and would like to find something I enjoy but that will burn calories big time. Jump roping? I think I can do that. And more swimming.

Cindy_Gail... I know it's sometimes difficult when the loss is slow, but please keep doing what you're doing. The results *WILL* come! I promise. I'm curious, are you taking your measurements as well as weighing in? Sometimes the scale won't move much but the inches are still falling off. Perhaps muscle is replacing fat. :) Also, what's your caloric intake like? Do you keep track of everything you eat? That may be the culprit. Sometimes even eating a little more (of the right things, of course) might kick things into gear. Other than that, all I can think of suggesting is try changing your routine exercise-wise. Maybe adding something else in (swimming, jumping rope, whatever) and alternate with the walking. I really wish you all the best, and let us know how things go. :) In the meantime, take care of yourself and try not to get too discouraged! :)

I just did the WATP 4 mile Super Challenge! I haven't done that one in well over a year, but promised myself I'd do it by Monday (my 39th birthday). I decided to try it today, so that if I couldn't do the entire thing I still had 2 more days to try it again. But I DID IT :D :cp: :dancer: That makes 48 miles since July 5. I decided to start the Walk Diet on Monday--I just haven't decided if it will be the one in the WATP book or the August one online. Either way, I'm on my way to losing those 40 pounds!

Well, I'm not going to make my July goal of 50 miles. :( In fact, I'm not even going to beat my June mileage. I'm so disappointed.

Went to the doctor Wednesday and they took x-rays of my ankles and my wrists. Part of this is that my arthritis has flared up bigtime this week. But also, when I try to walk outdoors, my left ankle starts acting up before I get to a mile or so. Today I walked 2 miles and had to ice my ankle and stay off it all afternoon. When they get my x-ray results back, I guess we'll have a better idea of what's going on.

The odd thing is that I can do WATP with no problems. Which is fine. It's just that I have really looked forward to outdoor walking when the weather gets cooler.

Oh well. :^:

I cleaned house for 5 hours today.
one of these days I'm gonna hook up my pedometer and see how many miles I walk while cleaning.

Hi everyone!

I did a 2mi. watp tape today. July miles = 24.

Guess I won't make my goal this month but I'll try again next time. I haven't walked for almost 3 weeks because I was having lower back problems. I decided to let myself rest and then I went to the dr. who checked me out and said that something in the lower back/hip area was out of whack. He referred me to one of his partners who has a background in osteopathic medicine. She did some manipulating of the muscles back there and showed me a couple of exercises to do. She also told me to wait a couple of days to exercise. I have been feeling great -- no more back pain. YIPEE!!!

I hope you all are doing fine. Welcome to all the new walkers that have joined us this month.

Have a great night all!!! :D

I have waked 29.5 miles in July not counting today. My goal is 32 miles. I did swim twice for 45 minutes each time on top of walking and I have started some weight lifting too!

Thanks for your comments. I really appreciate it. No, I haven't taken my measurements but I will because I have noticed a difference in the way my clothes fit. I have gone down a pant size and I'm thrilled about that! I will keep better track of what I am taking in also because I know I need to be eating fewer calories.

It sounds like everyone is doing great. Welcome all you newbies. This is a great place, you're going to like it here.
