Since Monet went ahead an started this week's board tonight--I'll start the replies!

I'm sitting here with a cup of green tea trying to get some work done. I have a meeting in Montgomery all day tomorrow, so have to get stuff done tonight.

I literally passed out when I got home from Birmingham yesterday--the meetings there really wore me out. I got up an went to church this morning and them had to take a long nap this afternoon. I sure hope I have some energy tomorrow.

I did make WI Thursday night as was up one pound. I really think that was the difference between a morning and an evening WI (this was the fist WI I have done at night), so I think I maintained this week. But I'm going to switch my weigh-ins to Thurs nights because it fits my schedule better, so I'll take this bump now. I've been OP so I'm not worried it is anything other than a bump.

Have good week everyone! I'll try to get on for replies tomorrow night.

Hi everyone,

Sorry I have been scarce here this week. The last few days were a little busy and preparing for our guests arrival from Miami. They are due to arrive in early morning of Monday, about 1 to 2 am. My house was in a wreck and they were so much to do to get ready. I also booked a short vacation at a cabin at Smoky Mountains, TN and also did some shopping for some household stuff since I do not have enough of many things. Yesterday and today were cleaning day and I am really beat. Dh and I finally cleared out the garage...gosh, I never thought I will be able to see the walls again. I have not clean this much before. I know it has to do with this pregnancy too....lol. I know I will be more scarce this week when the guests arrived so I just wanted to let you all know what is going with me.

I will be back next week after my guests leaves. In the meantime....take care everyone!!

Julia

Hello all--

It is late enough here, that it is morning for most of you, so will post on Mondays board instead of Sunday. I MADE IT THROUGH THE WEEKEND WITH NO CHEATING!! Finally, one whole weekend. I did eat some sweets, but they were sugar free and kept me from eating the real sweets. I found some sugar free strawberry vines.......I love red licorice ropes, but these were a bit hard to chew. It was like they came apart in little pieces when you chewed them, that couldn't be completely chewed. Does that make sense?? Anyway.......I made a legal weekend.

We had alot of people come and look at the boat, but no offers yet. A couple of guys called late tonight and will be out tomorrow evening to look at it. We had one man that can out with his grandson, and then came back later with his wife. He said he would let us know either way after they had discussed it at home. But from the way she was talking, I think she had a new boat in mind. So will have to see. Our ad will run all of next weekend too, so keep your fingers crossed.

I haven't had a chance to read any of the post from the weekend, but will try and do that tomorrow, and get in some replies. Hope you all had a great weekend, and see you all in the morning.

Doing my morning fly by.... I need to finish up cleaning from all the wedding stuff, and then settle in for some my needed R&R. A friend is coming over for lunch today..we may lay around the pool, or just watch a video and talk. She is one of the young women from chuch...

Last night, I fixed stew beef, brown rice, squash casserole and fresh green beans. We also nibbled on leftover veggies and dip. Erik brought some raspberries from their yard, so we had those with a bit of whipped cream on them for dessert. Yum! I was SO stuffed, but everything was legal. I need to continue to avoid sugar to get it out of my system, since I did taste the cakes on Saturday! Dinner was nice last night...Ruth and Erik were more relaxed and hung around and talked. Laura was not here. She was offered a pick up shift at another store, so she took it. I guess at 19 you think money is more important than Father's Day. I think Tom was a bit hurt, but took it in a manly way. :s:

FILLISE: I think you are probably right about that one pound being a difference from morning to night. I am guessing the difference is more, but wait till next week to see! I felt like you did yesterday...unfortunately, I could not nap. I did go to bed at 9 on Saturday and sleep until 7 on Sunday!

TEENSY: I hope the boat sells easily for you! Way to go on the cheat free weekend! That strawberry vine does not sound very appealing! :)

KENG: Enjoy your company! A few days in the Smokies will be so much fun! And pretty too!

I am off to find some breakfast! :coffee:

Just a quickie for me, too. I've been mostly good all weekend except for about 10 peanut M&Ms and I'm down to 158!! I'll update my tickers in a minute. But I thought that was cool!! I'm a little under the weather with TOM...which makes the pound down all the more cool, to me!

Okay...I have to take a shower...I can't stand being in the same room with myself!! :o Kris

I did my weigh-in this morning and am back at my pre-trip weight. So, in 2 weeks I lost 6 pounds, but that is not as earth-shattering as it sounds, since I put those 6 pounds on in one month! But I am going to try to eat 100 Kcal less per day for a couple of weeks and see how that affects my bod.
Got my 2 miles in today already. My DH and I walked at 8 this morning when it was still reasonable cool. I did not work out with weights last week because the AC broke down at the place where the gym is. It still has not been fixed (long story) but I will go in today at 10:30 before the crowd gets in there and hopefully it won't be too hot.
My DS came over and cleaned off the roof and cleaned out the gutters for my DH for a fathers' day gift. That was a really good gift because it took him the better part of the afternoon and he got 10 bags of debris from up there, and it took over an hour just to get the gutters "de-leafed". Then we went over to my DD's where she and her bf fixed supper. The BF fixed grilled pork ribs, some small steaks (about 4 oz.), they had fresh corn on the cob, and a salad. She also offered dips and chips. But I was SO GOOD. I had one small steak (he overcooked it), one bite (I swear it was only 1" X 1") of rib, a big helping of salad with oil and vinegar, and one ear of corn, no salt and no butter (I prefer it that way). I know corn is not legal, but with everything else, and with no butter fat calories, I felt it was OK. I did not touch any dip or chips. That was a big step for me because I love chips and dip.
The BF is a big eater, and, in fact, is just BIG. He weighs almost 300 pounds and if he keeps eating the way he does, will be over that soon. He is not good for my daughter's weight, because she eats just like he does. There were 2 pieces of steak and about 6 big ribs, or more than 1/2 the meat still left over. I am really going to have to work hard at keeping my mouth shut about how he fixes and eats!! I want to be a nice mother-in-law. They start their pre-marriage counseling next week.

Well, I have to shower before I go to work out. Have a lot to do today.

The week we move away from Texas. :( . I know we'll like it in Georgia, but 18 years is a long time in one place and DD was born here, so it's all she knows!

The weekend wasn't so good. I cooked for my older DD's bf's family. We made crawfish etoufee and boiled shrimp. I made it OP by using WW flour for the roux and served it with brown rice. But the key lime pie and cheesecake definitely were NOT OP. I came home and had some Microwave popcorn for supper! I feel down today, partly because of my eating habits and partly because of the move.

DH just called and the movers want to pack on Wednesday and load the van on Thursday!!!! That's earlier than I expected and he won't even get here until Friday morning.

OK, I have to breathe. This is going to be okay. We will get through this. I have to go throw away a bunch of stuff in my bathroom cabinet. I'll try to get back on here tonight.

JRED: <<hugs>> to you Jred! You will love it here in Georgia! Just think of how close you will be to me! Kidding aside, any big change is stressful. I will be praying for you and your family this week! I know I would be freaking out if we were moving across a few states after being here in Hotlanta for over 20 years! I think for me, it would be half excitment (which makes me sick to my stomach some times!) and half stress and depression! Hang in there! It will be over soon.

TECH:  Woo hoo! Yay on that pound!

GATOR:  Woo hoo for you too for dropping the six! You did great at dinner too! I too have a hard time passing up chips and dip. Way to go!

Wow 7 posts already!!! You all are busy... Unloading some stuff from our bedroom to the guest room so DH can take down the ceiling and put up a new one. We live in a mobile and the ceiling is horrid. I'll be so glad to have a new one in. And electric run so I can finally have a ceiling fan. Its the last ceiling we have to redo in this place. B- a breakfast bar L- South Beach wraps S- peach D- I'm not sure, maybe a taco salad...

Fillise- I agree at night you could be up a lb. or more. A cup of green tea sounds good.

Julia- I hope you have a wonderful trip. We go over the Smoky Mtn. to visit our kids in South Carolina. Its so beautiful there.

Teensybean- LOL I was hooked on those strawberry whips for awhile. And then got burned out on them. I enjoyed having something sweet to chew on.

Monet- Hope you get lots of R & R in this week. You sure deserve it after all you went through last week.

techwife- Wow gal you're doing so good. And you should be so proud. Your weight just keeps going down...

Gatorgal- Way to go on the weight. 6 lbs in two weeks is GREAT!

j red- Good luck with the move. What an adventure moving to a new place.

Well lots more work to do before hubby gets home for lunch.....

Good Monday Afternoon Ladies.

Hope everyone had a great weekend and all the husbands and dads had a wonderful Father's Day.

My bug only lasted about 24 hours, thank goodness. I felt much better on Sat.

Yesterday was a do nothing day. I put my float in the hot tub and layed out. I guess my neighbors thought I was crazy. We just sat around and enjoyed each other. We went to a fish place on the river for dinner and I had told Dennis that we couldn't go there b/c we couldn't eat anything they had. Then I remembered I saw where they redid the place and added some upscale items to the menu. They did, but we wanted to eat on the deck and you couldn't get the food inside outside. I really don't know why they couldn't bring a salad down to the deck. They were up and down anyway. Also you could only get grilled fish inside. I didn't want to make everyone go in so we just got fried fish with no bread. I had one onion ring. That was the only off plan food all weekend. I didn't have any starchy carbs yesterday so that helped counteract the breaded fish and o.r.

Have an oncologist appt at 4:00 today. I dread those appointments. I guess there will always be fear there.

Susan, you had eaten all day so you should have been up. 1 pound is not bad and I'm sure it will be gone next Thursday.

Julia, enjoy your visit.

Teensy, congrats on your legal weekend. It gets easier and easier.

Monet, hope you are enjoying laying by the pool today.

Tech, Wow you are just pealing those pounds off. You go girl.

Gator, Congrats on your good eating this weekend too. That's what we need to hear on here. WTG on those 6 pounds. It's only down from here.

Jred, this will be an emotional week for you. Hang in there. Consider it a new beginning. There is a legal keylime pie ont he recipe board. I made it in a ww pie crust and it was good.

Toni, sounds like your home is getting a fix up. I'm sure you will love it. Do you have Kroger's there? They carry the crackers.

BF: oatmeal, skim milk, walnuts, oj
snack" celery & peanut butte
lunch: salad, peach.
dinner: ?

We have a meeting with a financial planner right after the dr and then the girls have volleyball at 6:30. So we will eat something when we get home, whenever that will be.

Time for lunch. Have a great day.

Hey, guys. Well, I was not good at all with my eating yesterday. Not a binge, but I had brownies, popcorn, and a loaded baked potato. I'm up 2 from yesterday and up 6 or 7 just from a little over a week ago. And that makes about 10 total from my low. Sucks. I've been in such a funk lately. I feel crappy and it doesn't help that hubby and I have been fighting. So I'm a little stressed. I'll be reading, but I just don't feel like I should be posting when I don't have my act together. I'll be back when I'm thinking more clearer and can make it thru a WHOLE weekend staying 100% OP.

Hi all! Well Im on a much needed vacation from work. My first day off and it felt good just to take it easy. Well.. the morning didnt start out easy since I had to go to my folks and shampoo their carpets but I just kept thinking what good exercise I was getting. So I got in 2 1/2 hours of that plus 45 min tonight of cardio with weights. So it was a pretty good day. But inbetween all that I just relaxed. Sat in the sun for a short time , took a nap.
Tomorrow I am going for a hair cut early and then shopping for the rest of the day with my dd.
Still being strict with my fat % and am at 6 lb loss . I find If Im strict 90% of the time and the other 10% I let myself have some higher fat indulgences I can still lose. I think for me its just hitting it really hard for 5-6 days is what I have to do. Ive been also trying to just eat fruit in the evenings when I feel the need to eat something ( after dinnertime). Fruit hasnt seemed to hurt at all :)

Susan- hope you get rested up.

Julia- have a great time with your friends.

Teensy- Good for you on the cheat free weekend. I find weekends so hard to not overeat. Hope your boat sells soon for you.

Tech- congrats on the loss !

Gator- great job getting back to your pretrip weight. Its taken me 5 weeks to lose 6 lbs so thats ALOT to me.

Jeanie- good luck on your move. Its always hard starting over somewhere new . Ive been here in Ind for 7 years and it took me awhile to "feel" apart but now this is "home"

Toni- I saw all those at Meijers this past weekend. Actually I got some of the cookies to try. The oatmeal/chochip cookies are great.

Jack-k- glad you are feeling better. Hope you appt goes good !

Heartmom-:grouphug: hang in there !

Jred--Good luck on your move. When you get to Ga. I'm sure you will love it. Ga. folks are just sweet as pie! I must say, ahem, as a loyal FLORIDA Gator fan, that a favorite joke of ours is "What the only thing wrong with Atlanta?" Ans: It's surrounded by Georgia. Gators always laugh at that when we are thinking about our arch rival, the Ga. bulldogs, from Athens.

I had a really good day. Steps: 15100.
Breakfast: homemade meusli with raw oats, 1/4 cup sk. milk, about 1 cup mixed fresh fruits.
Lunch: 1/2 cup black beans, onions and salsa, 1 slice SGWW toast with 1 oz. melted swiss cheese. 1 apple
Snack, 1 cherry, 6 almonds
Dinner: 4 1/4 oz. brined and grilled skinless chicken breast (a keeper of a recipe, first time I tried it), roasted eggplant, pattypan squash, and red bell pepper.
caramelized fennel and 1 small lettuce salad with lo cal dressing.
12 cherries.
Lots of herbal iced tea.

My cleaning lady didn't show up today, but she called and told me she was having trouble at her house and would come Wed. I certainly hope so as it has been 2 weeks since she's been here. I was so frustrated for a little while that I thought about going and eating something. But--I pulled myself together and just did some chores. We have just come in from weeding my DH's rose garden. In the month we were gone, the weeds got waist high and it looked terrible. Now it looks great, except for the black spot on some of the leaves. That seems to happen so easily in Fl. in the summer. And in the summer the rose blooms are quite a bit smaller than usual because of the heat.

Well, guess I'd better go and clean up the kitchen.

My DD's bf called. He has been sleeping over here and he spent the night over at her place last night. They told us that the new kitten they got was sick so he had to stay there because of that. Yeah. Right. They must think we are stupid or something. Oh well.

Checking in tonight... Dinner turned out exceptionally yummy! I made brown basmati rice with chicken in the broth from cooking chicken breasts for salad. Of course, the pressure cooker does a fab job of it, and it was unbelievably flavorful and good. I made a lot, and they ate every bite of it! We also had sauteed Nappa cabbage. I drank 100% NSA cranberry juice.

I went to the Asian market I love with my friend after lunch today. She has started feeding her dogs raw food, and was looking for a cheap source for meat. We found bluefish, whole, uncleaned for 99 cents a pound. It was amazingly fresh too. She also got some pork livers, and other frozen fish. The pups are going to love it! :) I got a few veggies, and they had blackberries 2 half pints for a dollar! I got six of them and will fix a ww blackberry pie tomorrow morning. I would tonight, but the kids got a frozen blueberry pie and just stuck it in the oven!

I am terribly sore and achy all over. I hope it doesn't take long to get over it. I never got the chance to lounge by the pool today. I went to the store this morning, then got home and had lunch with my friend, then we ran out to the market, and home just in time for me to start dinner, and Tom's lunch and smoothies. He and Laura took my car down to the shop to have an oil leak checked into. I will be car-less tomorrow. :(

Not much else going on around here. I would do replies, but I am kind of tired and the yawns make it hard to see the screen! ;) I did order a new harddrive tonight, so it will be here in a few days. Instead of 20gigs, it wil be 80gigs! I have NO idea what I will do with all that space!

Sweet dreams, everyone!

Good morning ladies.

Finally, a whole day of work. Dr appt went well, I guess. They didn't have my blood work results by the time I saw the Dr. That is the main thing. So if there is anything wrong they will call me. Hopefully. Forgot to ask one of the main questions I had. I had forgotten to write it down and got out of there w/o asking. Oh well, guess it can wait anothe 4 months.

I came home early from the ball park and got my wts done. Also my DD brought this machine home that is called a bun roller. You lay your back on it and roll back and forth on the floor. Supposed to work your thighs and butt. My main problem areas. So I tried it out for awhile. Not really sore today so guess I didn't do it right or not enough. Suppose to drop 2 pants sizes in 10 days by using it 5 minutes a day. We will see.

Going to lunch with a friend today. Salad somewhere.

BF was 1/2 bacon sandwich. strawberries, coffee (decaf)
Lunch: salad
dinner: some chineese stuff my DD bought over basmatti rice. Ingredients looked legal.

Didn't get much dinner last night. We ran in the door and the kids had made chili dogs. so I ate 1 (no bread) and 1/4 cup or less of ww mac & cheese. Ate some strawberries later.

Got to get some work done. Be back later.

Its been a busy day so far for me! I made breakfast for the girls and I, but they hardly ate any of it. :( I don't have a car, as mine is in the shop. The mechanic just called and said it needed another $150 of work, bringing the total up to $500. I told him to call Tom. I am beginning to not trust them. Every time I take it in, there is another $400 or more worth of work they want to do on it. Rubbish! I have put more into it in the last six months than I think necessary. Its hard to find a trustworthy mechanic these days.

I had a luncheon meeting with two women from church. Starting Thursday, we are doing an arts and literature summer program for the kids. Its basically art lessons based on the art work of award winning books. One of the ladies and I will be teaching weeks 1, 3 and 5. Two other ladies are teaching weeks 2, 4 and 6. My assistant and the director of kids ministries were who I had lunch with. My assistant is an incredible artist, but wants me to do the teaching since I have my degree in art education. It ought to be lots of fun. We had lunch at a noodle cafe, and I got Vietnamese spring rolls and chicken satay. Not totally legal but the best choices on the menu.

Menu so far today: Breakfast: 3 scrambled eggs with gouda cheese, ww English muffin, espresso with cream Lunch: two spring rolls, four small sticks of chicken satay with peanut sauce, mango flavored green tea, Pepsi One (with splenda), snack- green banana.

 I will try and get by later! Right now, I am going to go enjoy my belated Mother's Day present! Its a large 3 person swing with a shade canopy over it! The girls put it together last night on the deck as a surprise for me!

Good afternoon. Just got done with some chores around here. Its so hot out I don't dare stick my head out. So I'm staying inside with the nice cool air. breakfast- breakfast bar Lunch- tuna sand. Dinner- not sure. You see my menu is crappy and I'm not getting enough vegetables in. So I'll be sure and have a salad tonight.

Jack-K- No we don't have a Kroger's here. I live in a small town with the population of 600 people. I'm really back in the sticks. I even had to order my dreamfields pasta on line. Its so flusterateing trying to get the good products out there. Every other week I go to a bigger town about an hour away but they only have a super Wal Mart. The woes of living in the country!

Heartmom- Please don't leave. I'm having the same problem right now. Just keep coming and it really helps a bit. And then one day it will click in.

Pancho- doesn't that make you crazy when you lose your post.....

Cindy- Oh my gosh I didn't know there were cookies out there too. Dang I wish I could find a place on line that sells the stuff....

Gatorgal- Can I come eat at your house... Your menu sounds wonderful...

Monet- Sorry about your car. Hope your mechanic is being honest. We've got wild blackberries growing down the sides of our road. I hope I'm the first to pick them this year.

hope I didn't miss anyone. Have a good day.....

Hello ladies--

It is starting to get hot outside so I thought I would come in for a few minutes. This is the second nice day we have had, but they are calling for rain tomorrow. No wonder my poor garden is just setting there. It never gets any heat. They are saying that our weather is supposed to be wetter than normal until August. Don't like the sounds of that. I can't believe that June is almost over and that we have only had a few nice days. Memorial Weekend was gorgeous, and it has been cold and rainy ever since, until yesterday. I replanted my squash on Sunday........hope I will get something to grow.

Menu--

B-- 3 turkey bacon, 1/2 c Fiber One, 1/4 c ff milk, 1 splenda, 4 oz strawberries, Lite 85.

snack-- 15 cherries

L-- Grilled chicken breast ww wrap, coleslaw.

snack-- apple

D--Grilled chicken breast, salad with lite bleu cheese dressing, coleslaw........

dessert-- 1/2 c sf pudding.

Not too enthused about menu today.....just trying to eat all the leftovers in the fridge. Dh will even get leftovers for dinner when he gets home. Poor guy!!

Monet-- Enjoy your new swing......I am thinking of getting one, but will wait until after our remodel. I am hopping to have a new deck out back when we redo our home. It is just too hot our front on that deck. (Most summers anyway.)

Toni-- I sure wish those sf twists were as good as the original ones......I loved those. These did the job in a pinch, but.....left a lot to be desired. I found some SF Fudgies at the dollar store yesterday when I was there. I picked up a bag of those and a bag of strawberry creme chewy's. Will let you know......

Cindy-- Enjoy your vacation.......you sure deserve one. You have been putting in a lot of hours. Congrats on the 6 pound loss......you are doing great!! Sorry to hear of your Dad's decline.

Gator-- I love my walks. I am walking everyday, and twice a day of M, W, F. My cleaning lady hasn't shown up for a couple of days either..........(I have been too busy working in the yard trying to get the beds done while we have some decent weather.)
Way to go on getting that vacation weight gone, wish mine would disappear!!

Nat-- Sorry you lost your post.......it has happened to me too, and it sucks!!

Jackie-- I am very glad that your check up was a good one. I know the worry that you must have before each one. Hope it is a clean bill of health when the blood test results are in.

Well, I am heading back out to finish my beds, it will be too hot soon as they are calling for a high of 92 today. See you soon........

I'm not going to attempt posts again today, since my lunch s/b ready any minute.

I took Lane to her little class this morning, and then she and I went to Trader Joes. Britt went to a Vacation Bible class with a friend and then went to her house to play. I think Lane needed a break from Britt; she was in a great mood and enjoyed some alone time with me, without any competition. I am sure Britt is glad to be away from us for a few hours too. Too much togetherness is not always a good thing. We went to a different Trader Joes, and they didn't have the little kid carts, so Lane was upset and started to throw a tantrum. I told her she could sit in the cart while I shopped or walk with me and "help" me shop, if she stopped crying. She stopped crying and was happy to be my little helper. This Trader Joes had the 73% dark chocolate that the other one has been out of for so long, so I bought 5 bars of it.

When Lane was in her class, I went to the indoor track and walked/ran for 45-60 minutes. I did take my pedometer and logged about 5500 steps. I had over 8,000 when we got home, and I didn't even put it on until I got to the track today; I had been up for three hours by then. I probably would have gotten close to 15,000 steps today. I am going to go do an upper body workout here in a little bit; I am hopine Lane will fall asleep on the couch. She won't take naps now during the day since she no longer has her pacifier.

I talked to the gastro office today and they are going to get me in next Tuesday. I am sure I am not going to be feeling better by the time we leave next Thursday, but at least he can get the ball rolling on whatever he thinks needs to be done. They can only get me in at 12:30, and I don't want to take the kids with me. My DH is going to meet me somewhere and take them to lunch. He is so busy at work, and we are leaving next Thursday; I hate to ask him to do that, but I really need to go to this appt. by myself. I then have a dermatologist appt. Wed. at 7 a.m. I have to have a skin check. I am supposed to go in every 3 months now, and haven't been in in a year. I don't have any moles that look too bad, but since they took that one off last year that turned out to be atypical, they want to keep a closer eye on me. Notice the older you get, the more time you spend at dr's offices  .

Eating has been fair; I have not been eating as much fruits/veggies as I should because I figure it will just aggravate my problem. I hope to be back to "normal" again soon.

Monet: I had a question for you regarding your cheese sticks. Are they supposed to turn out kinda like breadsticks? I am tyring to picture what they look/taste like. It sounds like something the kids might like.

Well, I gotta go eat.

Have a great OP day!

Pancho--I suspect it is a good idea to go to your doctor's alone. With kids along it would be difficult. Here's hoping he finds just the ticket for you and things get better.

Heart--Don't go. Use the board and stick to it.

Jackie--You sound like you have such a busy life. Are you taking any vacation this summer?

Monet--I think we are alike--I majored in art ed. too. Your program sounds like fun.

Toni--thanks for the compliment. After our trip to France where everything tasted so fresh and "clean" with fresh veggies giving so much flavor to the meal, I have been inspired to cook the same way. It is a challenge to keep the oil low, because over there the cook we had used a lot of olive oil on almost everything. It was delicious, but caloric.

I got locked out of my car today. Stupid me. I tossed my purse and keys into the car and instead of unlocking the other door with the unlock button, I pushed "lock" instead, and then closed the door. I had to wait 40 min for my DH to come with the other key.

Food today:
Breakfast--cooked oatmeal with dried cherries, sk. milk, 1 soft boiled egg.
The company that I used to buy my oats from has changed their processing. They used to have oats that were just a little thicker than the Quaker old fashioned oats and when you cooked them they still had some body and even chewiness to them. They did not turn to paste like most oats do. Now that company has rolled their oats a little thinner and they are just like Quakers. I experimented with them by putting in less water and just cooking them until the water boiled. But they were still glue-like. Anyone know of some good oats? The brand I was using was Arrowhead Mills. :(
Lunch: tomato/avocado/lettuce sandwich on SGWW bread with lo cal mayo. 2 oz. grilled chicken left over from last night and 20 fresh cherries.
Dinner will be fish, baked in paper with onion, garlic, etc, with, ahem, grated potato pancake and baby zucchini cooked with tomatoes. The potato is actually that new, lower carb potato which I have been using occasionally. It is quite good and tasty. Even with the potato I am within my caloric limit.

Helpful hints on pedometer wearing: Put your pedometer on first thing in the morning. When you get dressed. If you have a loose or elastic waistband, hook your pedo onto your underpants. I suggest using a "guard" so if your pedo falls off you won't lose it. I made one by hooking a rubber band around one of the hookon clips and pinning the rubber band to my garment.
If you take at least one good walk each day, and then try to get extra steps in during the day, you can EASILY reach 10000 steps. I try to part a little farther out in the parking lot when I go to the grocery store. It's neat, because when it is crowded, I don't get my panties in a wad if there is not a parking place up close. I just look for one far out. Try to stay busy during the day, and walk around a little more if you can. You'll be amazed at how much we women walk, IF you put that pedo on in the morning and not just wear it when you go on an "official" walk.

Gotta go. Laundry is out of the machine and I need to fold clothes.

Good evening everyone! Dinner tonight turned out so so. I made a stuffed steak and tried cooking it in the pressure cooker. It got some what tender, but the stuffing I made just did not please me. I used spinach in it. Back to the drawing board! (or should that be cutting board? :lol3: )

I am rather tired and achy still and have not really had much time to chill. I need to get back to my walks, but while I am so achy I am afraid to. I really should just bite the bullet and go...

I am tickled tonight to report that I got about ten cherry tomatoes out of the garden! I also got about six nice cucumbers, and a handful of green beans. My squash plants seem to be petering out. They were never very vigorous. Tom claims they were not planted well. Grrr.. *I* planted them while he was messing with plumbing! I am so proud of myself...I refrained from bopping him.

PANCHO: I don't blame you for wanting to go to that doctor appointment alone! The cheese straws turn out the consistency of a butter cookie...a bit crisp, but tender. I have not rolled them out in years, and can't remember how they are that way, I use a cookie press. I do know that I have NEVER had any left when I have made them for weddings! :)

GATOR: Oh, man! I can't believe you got your degree in art ed! What is your major area of concentration? Mine was pottery, which I also got a straight studio degree in. I stayed the extra year for the education degree. My minor was art history... Its kind of weird how much we have in common!

FRUIT: Gosh it is great to see you post! I have been thinking about you! I guess you are so busy with the kids you just don't have time to eat! :) I will look forward to reading a nice long catch up post from you tomorrow!

TEENSY: Hmm, I wanted to go out and sit on the swing, but then it started raining. The canopy over it was not very water resistant, and now the cushion is all wet! I hope it dries out quickly! I think I would recommend a wooden one with out the squishy cushions!

TONI: My husband felt like the mechanic was being truthful....I guess he ought to know what he is talking about! :) Its an old car, he says, and it needs stuff done to it! Good luck on getting the blackberries! I have gone picking with my mother in law, and boy its hard work! :)

HEART: The purpose of the board is to help support each other and get through hard times, and encourage one another. Just because you mess up now and again doesn't mean you should not post. In fact, that is when you SHOULD post. Having to come and confess slip ups helps me stay on track. And its ok if you want to vent about other things. We all understand...its part of learning the ins and outs of losing since our emotions play in to our failures and successes big time. <<hugs>>

JACK: Can you call the doctor's office and ask your question? I need to get out and walk...I am feeling so lazy, then I read what all you are doing and I feel ashamed! :o

I think I will go find something to read for a while. Sweet dreams everyone!

Well, I wasn't going to post so soon, but I read Missy's post and it made me so happy for her! Missy, that is wonderful news! We want to see pics of the boys. Try not to spoil them too badly, or have you already accomplished that?

Well, I'm thinking a "little" more clearer than yesterday. I didn't have a 100% OP day, but compared to what it's been, I did okay. Yesterday, I had a pity party and ate like crazy. Today, I got over it and came to some senses. I didn't sleep well at all last night, in fact, it was about 4 or later before I got to sleep! I kept worrying about Boogie starting school this year. Stupid to start worrying now, but it kept me up, so I didn't go to sleep until this morning and slept to 10 am. So, I wasn't hungry when I woke up, I skipped bf and ate a filling lunch. I had my famous HUGE salad made with veggies, can tuna, 1 egg, a little cheese, and Ranch dressing. I just got thru with supper about 30 or 40 minutes ago. It wasn't totally legal, although planned. I made Ranch chicken(with mushrooms, cheese), zuchinni with parmesean, and RICE, it was instant garlic rice. I ate seconds on everything but the rice. I was ravenous after my workout this evening. Right now, I'm looking online for some zucchini recipes. I found a couple that look really good. I think I will make one this weekend. You use hamburger meat, tomato sauce, rotel, bell pepper, cheese, etc..all legal. If it turns out good, I'll post it. Well, I need to go. I'll check in tomorrow.

Today is WIW! I hope the scale is kind to everyone! I was up 2.5, but I know its water, as my rings are tight and my joints are so achy. I meant to take a diuretic yesterday, but forgot.

Another busy day ahead! I have to go shop for supplies for the program tomorrow, but thankfully, I have my car back!

I have not had my coffee yet, and I am about ready to chew on the desk here...I better go eat breakfast and then come back!

Happy WIW. Hope the scale is good to everyone today.

Mine is still messed up. I was everywhere from 168 to 173 this morning. I think I saw 171 about 3 times so I am using it. I even put a new battery in it today. :?:

Diiner last night was great. We have a package of Chinese stir fry, I added some diced chicken, made some basmati rice. It was really good. Everyone liked it and that is very unusual.

Got some exercise in last night. Got my treadmill in this morning.

Teensy, it is supposed to be 93 here this weekend too. But I love every minute of it. I would hate having a bunch of rain. I wish it would only rain during the nights.

Nat, we leave next week on Friday morning. Hope your Dr visit turns up some helpful stuff. I agree, seems like I'm in some doctors office each week.

Gator, we leave next Friday for Punta Cana, Dominican Republic. We are taking the girls as their graduation present. As soon as we get back from vacation, I going to get going with the pedometer again. Bummer about locking your keys in the car. I hate waiting for someone to come unlock it. Seems like it always happens when you are in a hurry too.

Fruit, about time you got on here. I know you and Terry are having a great time with the boys. 11 pounds is awesome. I guess they are keeping you running. Come back please.

Toni, I will be glad to buy some of the south beach cookies and crackers and mail them to you. Just PM me with your address and what you want.

Monet, hope you are feeling better. Maybe some laps in the pool would help instead of walking.

Heart, glad you are feeling better and back on track. Now stay on here and it will help you. Maybe try setting a challenge for yourself and then a small reward if you make it.

BF; Cereal bar, strawberries,
Lunch, tuna, SB crackers, apple
Dinner: Chicken parmagain (sp), salad, veggies

Got some filing I have put off that needs to be done before I leave on vacation so I guess I will drag myself to do it today.

Okay, guys...I only have a minute to post as I have to go get ready to pick up DD from school. I can't stand these half days...I wish they would just get everything they need to get done finished in one-two days so we can have our days in tact :( .

I just had to tell you that I'm having my deluxe oatmeal for breakfast. Which includes oatmeal, Splenda, milk, a handful of walnuts and some frozen blueberries. Oh my gosh, it's sooo good!! It's like...Monet made it or something!! I'm on my second bowlful because I made some for DH and he had to run off to work, so I'm having his...can't let it go to waste, now can we... :^:

Okay...I'll do replies later...WIW finds me up a pound to 159, but still under 160..which makes me happy!!

C-yas later on!!

Hey fellow sugar buster's---

Not much doing today. We have cooled down here. Two nice days was all we are going to get I guess. I did get two full rows hoed in the garden, I also did two yesterday, but had to quit, cause it was too hot.

WIW had me down 1, I think.........I got four different weights so I left it alone for about ten minutes then went back. That is not much for as much exercise as I got in last week..........I am still walking in the evenings too. Only got in 1 miles with Buddy yesterday as there were severe thunderstorm warnings. They ended at 8 pm, so I got Buddy ready and we headed out only to have them put back on until 9:15 after we got a half a mile up the road. It was very eerie out, everything had a yellowish cast to it. Must have been the dirt in the air or something. The airport reported a couple of 77 mph gusts.......

B-- 1 egg, 1/2 T mayo 1 slice ww bread, 3 oz raspberries, Lite 85 yogurt.

snack--2 sf Russell Stover chocolates.

L-- WW turkey wrap, 1/2 c ff cottage cheese, 1/2 sweet red pepper.

snack-- apple

D-- Cubed steak, dinner salad with lite bleu cheese dressing, sf jello.

Monet-- I am totally jealous.......fresh tomatoes already??? AND a cucumber!! If we don't get some heat, I don't think I will have much of a garden. We are 20 degrees cooler today than yesterday. It sucks!!

Jackie-- Our scales must be related.....I got 4 different weights too. I love the heat!! When we would take the boat down to the lake, I would sit out in my chair of the front deck all day long. If I got hot, I would just dump water over my head. When it is 80 degrees in the house, I am just comfortable and dh is sweating like at pig. Go figure......When I stayed down in New Mexico, it did rain a bit almost ever night......just made it really muggy instead of cooling it down.

Gator-- Ditto on the pedometers......I also find that you have to get them just at the right place on your hip to get them to be as accurate as possible.

Heart-- Hang in there.....we have all had our good days and bad days. None of us are perfect and we sure don't expect you to be. I am one of the worst lately with the cheating.........And it is sure telling on me. You are only disappointing yourself. Sometime the stress is just too much, and we all know how life is full of it. Just jump back on and keep trying...... As long as you don't quit trying, you'll always be a winner here!!

Hey, all. Just checking in. Not much going on today. Took Boogie to Speech this morning and then had to run into the grocery store for a couple of items. Haven't done anything since I got home but pick up the front a little and did my workout for the day. BF was a peach and plain yogurt with splenda. Lunch was leftover Ranch chicken, zucchini, and a cup of NSA ice cream. For supper, I'm making a beef and cabbage casserole that I've never tried along with a couple of side items that I haven't quite figured out what to fix yet. I know I'm planning on making the rest of the clan some yellow rice(yuk), I'm thinking about making a sweet potato for me. Well, it's WIW and I guess I should report my horrendous weight. 170!! I just saw 163 a week and a half ago. I'm up 10 from my ticker low. I hope I see the 160's again tomorrow. It seems that I have spent the entire 2005 year gaining, losing, and regaining the same stupid 10 pounds. I've probably lost 100 pounds this year! Well, I'm off to post on the exercise board and visit Blockbuster...

Just checking in before heading home. DD had a bid on their house. It is too low so they will counter. I got a little sad thinking about them leaving. It has been fun so far. Tonight is our Elks club. We will eat dinner before we go. I may have 1 glass of wine or maybe a diet coke.

The girls are really doing great on this diet. They make sure if we are having a starch at dinner that they don't have any more. I have been fixing their lunches for them. They are even working out with me at night. Sorta of fun.

Kris, now don't forget to count that 2nd bowl of oatmeal as your 2nd starchy carb. no cheating now. I always hated half days. For working parents, it's a killer. They get to count the day as a whole day as long as you are there until a certain time. If they put them together, you would have to go longer time.

Teensy, I think our scale is possessed. I think I have a ghost in the house. Saturday my DD saw a picture that I have on the table and it was upside down. The back had been taken off and switched so the words and heads were at the bottom. No one claims to have done it. So maybe the ghost was standing on the scale with me today. Go ahead and take that one pound, I did.

Heart, we are almost at the same wt. Now let's get going. Hold my hand and I'll hold yours and down we will go.

Have a great evening.

Just got in from a marathon of errand running! I had to go to the church office and pick up some stuff, cut up some tissue paper, then to Hobby Lobby to get stuff for tomorrow. I also got some stuff to do a few craft projects for my niece. She is the editor of a kids craft magazine and needs some submissions....

Tom just got in, so I need to go soon. Just wanted to report that I forgot to eat lunch, so I had a roast beef and cheese sandwich and a glass of tea when I got in a little while ago. I am going to go munch on fresh cucumbers and tomatoes out of the garden...

I will be back in a bit to do replies!

This is just a fly-by post. I've been swapmed this week, but just wanted to tell Monet. . . whatever you do don't bop a hubby that can fix plumbing!!!!!

I'm doing ok on the food, but negotiating my way around some tricky dinners and lunches, it wouldn't be so bad if it were just one or two this week, but I'm going to a lot fom here lately!

Will try to get on later for replies!

Teensy--I agree about where you wear the pedometer making a difference. Just about where the point of the hip bone is, and then right above that at the waistline does it for me. When I wear something that is too loose at the waist, I have to clip it to my underpants. Today I got in 10003 steps. I didn't get my "walk" in until this evening, because this is my day to work.

I had a so-so day food wise. I had a good breakfast, and then my DH called and invited me out for lunch. I had a salad with crab meat. The in the middle of the afternoon I was starving, so I had an open faced egg salad sandwich and 20 cherries. For dinner some roasted chicken and creamed spinach. I didn't even measure or figure calories. I just was tired, and wanted a break for my tight eating regimen. I got a craving for vanilla Ice cream so after our walk we went to the store and got a pint of lower fat vanilla Hagen Daaz. It hit the spot and so now I think that tomorrow I will be ready to get back to my plan. I didn't weigh today. I normally weigh Monday mornings.

Monet, actually my major was general fine arts with enough courses to get a teaching certificate. I got a bachelor of design in fine art. My favorite thing was sculpture, but I never did much of that after school because I got married right out of school and my materials were rather limited. My second "specialty" was drawing and printmaking. We immediately moved to California and lived there for a little over a year. It took me 6 months of that time to get a full certificate in Calif. So I mostly substituted. Then we moved back to Gainesville where my DH went to graduate school--law. Teaching jobs were impossible to get because every wife of a student was looking for that kind of job. So I found a better paying job with the state welfare office. Then, when we moved again it was in the middle of the school year, and, in fact, the year that the teachers went on strike for 6 weeks or so. So it was a while until I really got to teach. By then I discovered that I liked to teach, but just not for the state or public school system. By then we were living here, and a friend and I did a volunteer art program for the local elementary school. That way we had a lot more say in what we were going to do.

Fruit, hi. Glad you are having fun with your two "kids." It keeps ya busy, doesn't it!

Gotta go. Have lots to do still.

Checking in again. Jack-k- I think I'll take you up on that offer. Can't let my partner down, now can I? Anyway, supper turned out pretty good, everybody ate seconds. Here's the recipe, I don't really measure...

I used more than 2 pounds of regular ground beef from Walmart, so it shrunk alot. I always drain and RINSE my ground beef. Cook about 2 pounds ground beef, an onion, a bell pepper, then drain. Add a couple cans of diced tomatoes and then add garlic, salt, and pepper to taste. Cook another 10 minutes or so. In the meantime, cut a large cabbage up into big wedges and put into salted, boiling water, cook until tender, and then DRAIN well. I took a long(not sure what the measurement is)pan and using a fork, broke the cabbage up and made a layer on the bottom of the greased pan. Then I added the ground beef mixture over the top and cook about 30 minutes at 350. Then add a layer(about 1 1/2 cups)cheddar and cook an additional 5 minutes. I served the family rice with this but I ate a sweet potato on the side. It was good, but needs a little "kick" to it, so next time I'm going to add cumin powder and chili powder to the meat and top with a Mexican blend of cheese, which I think will really be good.

Well, I ended up eating too much, plus I had 3/4 cup NSA ice cream(again). Yea, I know I should have definety left the ice cream alone...I'm working on staying legal right now, next step will be portion control. Right now, I'm just glad I haven't gone to the convenience store and raided the candy bar section,lol..or hit McDonald's up. Well, that's it for me!

I started a new project tonight. (like I needed something else to do!) I am not sure what it will look like, but I am knitting as large a piece as I could cast on the needles. I liked the yarn, and thought it would be good to keep me occupied with no hands free to eat with! :s: I may have to knit more than one piece then stitch it together, since knitting needles are only 14 inches long...I did get about 90 stitches cast on it though! :)

I sat outside on my swing tonight and knitted a bit...now its time for bed. I wish you all sweet dreams!

Happy Wed. Im still just maintaing this week which I suppose is a good thing being home on vacation and yesterday shopping with dd I ate some things I shouldnt of. Being at home is so hard cause I tend to want to snack all the time. At least at work I have what I bring and thats it ! So Im able to stay so on track that way but here at home... geesh. Everything I keep at home is legal..I just want to eat too much of it.

Monet- sorry about the few pounds. Like you said its probably just water and will be gone before you know it.

Jack-k- my scale did that a few times too. Drives me crazy.

Tech- that oatmeal sounds awesome. I might have to give it a try tomorrow morning.

Colleen- I can send you some of our heat if youd like. I think we are heading to the 90's through the weekend.

Heart- hang in there !

Susan and Gator- hi to you both.

Well Im off here to head to bed. Had dinners at my moms tonight because my brother in law and my neice arrived this afternoon, then my dd and I went on a hour long power walk, so Im bushed. Have a great evening to all.

OK, today is a new day and I'm sane again. I actually got my walk in, with my DH, this morning. On Wednesdays I don't get to walk until evening because I would be late for work. So that starts that day off kilter. Yesterday I did not succumb to the candies, chips or nuts that they have sitting out at my workplace, so that was good, but to compensate for the normal munching I do there, I had the ice cream last night--with chocolate sauce--actually Nutella we brought back from France.

So today, I had a good breakfast with shredded wheat and a nectarine and skimmed milk. I'll have a healthy lunch and take an apple for snack when I go for my foot reflexology and facial today. My DH gave me a spa gift certificate several months ago, and today I will finish it off.

One thing I've discovered about eating good food that is healthy and will not add pounds is that it takes time and thought to be creative and to fix it. It is so much easier just to throw some sausage and beans in the pot and to have a PB&J sandwich when hungry. And since we don't get all that physical activity like we used to in the "olden days" (before TV remote controls!! :) )it is easy to eat more food than we can burn off in daily activity. So it's hard to fix meals that will stick with you but are not high calorie splurges. 1.5 or 2 oz. of spaghetti now has to suffice instead of the 3 and 4 oz. piles we are used to and like to eat to fill us up. Cooking and eating healthily and sticking with it is a big challenge. I actually find lunch the biggest challenge, because I'm normally by myself and have to fix it myself, and get tired of the same old stuff. What do the rest of you normally have for lunch?

Heart--OK, pull yourself together. Have you taken the time to think through why you are eating so frantically? Is something "eating" you? Are you afraid of reaching your goal? When you reach the "perfection" of your goal, are you realizing that life still will not be perfect? I wonder if you are living with an inordinate amount of stress that causes you to find it easier to just eat whatever. Your kids and the health problems related to that, your husband, etc. etc. And also the tendency to let-up when you get really close to goal. No matter WHAT you eat, you are on a "diet." Some of us are on diets that promote weight gain and a chance for poor health, and some are on a diet that promotes a feeling of health. EVERYONE is on a diet of some sort, and I am not referring to "diet" as some sort of regimen, but of eating choices. Everyone makes choices as to what they are going to eat. And when we choose to eat what makes us feel guilty, or bad, or unhealthy, one must ask oneself why they are making those choices. My own answer as to why I have made those choices are: boredom and laziness and a willingness to be out of control. I have noticed in your posts over the past several months that you seem to be really struggling with what you are eating and as one of your supporters, I am wondering if you have pondered what is really happening in your life that is manifesting itself in what you are choosing to eat. So--take some time to think about these things as you go on this SB journey.

Gotta go. Lots to do.

Hello all!

I'm sooo excited--my new washer/dryer came today. The guys from Lowe's just finished installing it and I'm running it through a test cycle. As soon as that finishes I will do a load of towels. It is supposed to take about 90 minutes -2 hours to go through a complete wash/dry cycle. I haven't had a dryer in my house for 10 years---I'm soooo excited!

Eating is so-so. Op, but it doesn't feel right. I don't know why that is. This week I've really had to fight the binge urge--don't know why that is either. Got to spend some time figuring it out. I'm staying within my SB guidelines and my points, but something feels a little off. I'm going to have to go back through my food dairies to see what is off kilter.

Meanwhile. . . off to wash and DRY towels!:D

I just got in from the art series I am helping teach. I could not believe my eyes...my silly son was STILL asleep in bed and its noon! I sure hope his boss does not mind him working 12:30 to 9pm! I absolutely HATE the way my kids like to stay up all night and sleep all day.

The art class went well. The kids are very young...perhaps too young, but they seemed to enjoy it, so that is important.. Its a small crowd, but I don't mind starting small and working up as the program gels...

Off to light a fire under my slacker son....

Just a quick hidey ho from me......have got to go move the water, and am waiting for someone to come look at the boat. We have had a lot of lookers, but so far no takers.....boo hoo. Everyone wants us to drop the price, or they want to make payments.......not going that route at all. Dh is still working so I won't be able to start up the motors but can show everything else. (Dh has some ears he sticks on the motors and then hooks the hose up to them so water runs through the pumps so as not to over heat them.)

Menu--

B-- Breakfast burrito.....WW wrap, leftover cube steak, and gravy made from ww flour and ff milk. Yummmmmy!! Lite 85 yogurt.

Hey, guys. I just got thru with the Walk and Kick workout(around 30 minutes), it's good for an energy picker-upper. If you like Leslie Sansone, then you'll like this one, and it's only 7 bucks at Walmart. I still have to teach exercise at church tonight. I weighed and I'm back in the 160's again..168. Just need to keep it up. I had an orange and plain yogurt sweetened with Splenda this morning. For lunch, I'm going to eat a bowl of leftover beef and cabbage casserole with a side salad(ranch dressing), diet coke. Supper will be a baked chicken breast, butterpeas, and green beans, diet coke.

Gator, and everyone else-

I have thought about this, even more so today, and it's a combonation of things. Sometimes it's triggered by boredom, sometimes stress with hubby, stress with finances which aren't good lately. Boogie is doing great so the only thing I'm worried about with him is starting school, the whole different environment he will be in. And you know, this sounds crazy, but it has become a "ritual" or routine to binge or overeat illegal foods on the weekend. Like I'm expected to do it, so therefore I tell myself, what the heck it's the weekend. Stupid, I know. I think that attitude is the most damaging of all. It's up to me to break the cycle. And I know you guys have heard this before, but I am going to give it my all and am planning to FINALLY make it thru this weekend without a binge or overeating episode. I'm going to keep reminding myself it's just another day, like a weekday. I know that I need to do this, not just for the weight loss, but for a sense of accomplishment...knowing that I can be in control and not letting the food or emotions control me. Alright, I need to finish checking my email and then fix lunch. I'll check back in tomorrow.

Back from Costco, where I spent more than I wanted to, but I had the girls with me, and they saw stuff they 'needed'.

I was bad and ate a honey wheat bagel with cream cheese. Its got whole wheat in it, but is not 100%. I was down this morning two pounds, so I hope I did not blow it totally.

I am drinking lots of water, and I am feeling almost normal, so I will try and walk early tomorrow. I can actually get up and down the stairs without feeling like my knees are going to kill me!

Dinner tonight will be rotisserie chicken from Costco and a veggie.

I will be back later!

Me again! Where's everybody at? I'm a little bored. I got supper cooking, just got thru with a snack, that I didn't mention earlier because I hadn't planned on one..but my stomach told me otherwise. 12 almonds and a cup of skim milk. I'm feeling sluggish, wonder why? I have a energy drink(sf) in the fridge that I've been saving for when I need it. Guess I'll drink it on the way to exercise. I didn't teach a good workout Tuesday, so I need to this evening. Can't do that with no "zip." It has caffeine so I'll skip my diet coke with supper. Have I mentioned that I'm bored? lol. Going to surf the web...

Howdy everyone:

Britt has a friend, and her 5-yr. old sister over to play right now. Kids can be so painfully forthcoming and honest. This little 5-yr old said to Delaney, "I know you like me, but you talk too much and you drive me crazy." Lane just kinda hung her head down and didn't say much for awhile. She was so excited to tell the "girls" what she did in her class today, and I think that broke her spirit a little bit. I'm sure it bothers me more than it does her.

Britt went to vacation bible school again today, and Lane went to her class. I walked the track again when Lane was in her class. I ran around the track about 10-12 times, and walked it even more than that (about 45 minutes total). So, all in all, I have worked out everyday this week but Monday. I went to the gym Wed.

We are having a really bad fire season here already. We had so much rain, and now everything is dry, and we are having dry thunderstorms. We have a fire not too far from us (about 90-100 miles) that merged with another one, and they have it 0% contained. It was caused by lightning. It is so scary. Over 300 people have been evacuated, and 20 structures have been destroyed so far. The winds today are not helping at all. This makes at least the 10th fire in the area this year.

My WIW weight was 121# yesterday. I was 122# today though.

Gator: What a bummer; good thing you didn't have a load of groceries in your vehicle. We used to have On-star, and I loved it; they could unlock our vehicle from anywhere. Now, we have to wait for Triple A if we lock them in. Those were good walking/pedometer tips.

Fruit: So good to see you!!! Congrats on the foster kids. Running after kids is a great workout!

Monet: Yum, fresh tomatoes, cucumbers...isn't it nice when your garden starts to produce? I miss that! It is so hot here, and we can't keep the birds out. It's not worth all the efforts for the few good weeks that you can get the veggies. Thank goodness for farmer's markets. I will have to try the cheese straws; they sound yummy.

Heart: Baby steps...you can do this; you've done it before. You know what needs to be done, and you will succeed and meet that goal of yours. I think if you can truly make it through one entire weekend on plan that you will be back on your way! It is scary to see your child start school, especially with the health problems that Boogie has encountered during his short little life. He will be fine, and you will, eventually, like that little bit of freedom that you have. You can cut some of that zucchini the long way in thick slices, and put a little olive oil and seasoning on them and grill them; they are delicious!

Jack: I think it is time to invest in a new scale. Good job getting that exercise in. Wow, it is your vacation time already; how long will you be gone? Gheez, how I'd love to hear my mom say those words about me. I hope your dd gets what she wants out of her home.

Tech: The only thing that would make that oatmeal even better is some ground cinnamon ;) , and it's even good for you. Glad you haven't gained anything.

Teensy: Glad the weather allowed you to get some work done in your garden.

Fillise: Congrats on the washer/dryer. I am sure you will love it.

Cindy: Glad you maintained your weight. Being home makes it so easy to snack.....believe me, I know (ha).

Well, I better go see why everyone is soooo quiet....something has got to be up  .

I'll check in later.

Heart--Look at it this way. Pretend you are an invisible person watching yourself eat during the weekend. Would you see a person who is in control, enjoying a meal with friends and family, caring about herself and making obvious choices? Yes, choices, even to eat a nice bowl of ice cream, or a piece of cake. Or would you see a person who is just stuffing anything or everything in, no matter what it is? Someone who is just reacting to what is going on around her and eating anything and everything in front of her? Would it be a pretty sight, or a "refined" picture?
The reason I ask these questions is to try to get the weekend out of the "anything and everything goes" category. Instead of thinking of how deprived you are on the weekend when "everyone else is having fun," think about the weekend as a time when you might CHOOSE to make some different choices regarding what and how you eat. You can still eat like a sane person and enjoy some "no-nos" without feeling guilty, and also without succumbing to behavior that makes you feel guilty. If you want to party with the best of them on the weekends, go ahead and have that cocktail, or that chip and dip, or whatever. But picture yourself just pouring down the drinks or STUFFING those chips or cake, and react accordingly. Then you might choose to have a cocktail, a few chips in anticipation of a lovely supper, and then enjoy your meal to its fullest, stopping eating when you are satisfied (not stuffed). THAT will be a picture you can be proud of. That will also take those weekends out of the frantic mode you've been in, and you won't feel guilty on Monday, because you were in control enough on Sat. and Sunday to make choices instead of just react. Good luck. We are your cheerleaders and know you can pull out of this slump with an attitude adjustment. :)

Monet, I love that chicken from Costco. It's the biggest and best. Except for---Smart Chicken at Publix. Of course you have to cook the Smart Chicken, but it is organic, and tastes just like the old fashioned farm chicken. It's like a whole different meat from the normal chicken--fryers--in the meat dept. Congratulations on your art class.

I had a great afternoon at the spa and now my face and neck feels so smooth. I'd love to get that done every month if I could afford it, and I bet a treatment like that every month would be a great benefit to my skin. I've used up the entire gift certificate, though, and the facial was $100!!!

Food today:
B. Shredded wheat with nectarine and sk. milk
L. 1 protein shake with frozen strawberries blended in. 1 sl. SGWW bread topped with 1 oz. melted cheese.
Snack. 1/2 apple, 5 almonds
Dinner: 1/4 wedge of grated potato pancake, zucchini with tomatoes, leftover tilapia from Tuesday night, a small salad with lettuce and tomato, oil and vinegar dressing, 10 cherries.
I did not drink enough water.

Fillise--Have fun with that new machine! Is it the same size as a regular washer?

Jackie--Good going with the exercise.

Well, I need to clean up the kitchen. DH is at a meeting tonight, so will have the evening to myself.
Oh, my DD told me today that they selected Nov. 12 as the date for the wedding. I immediately checked my calendar and discovered that we have planned to go to the USC/UF football game where the Mighty Gators play Steve Spurrier's gamecocks. We also have invited my sister and her husband, the one who was in the hospital for cancer last summer. He is still struggling with some health problems that have come up as a result of the cancer, and my sister is having her hands full. We want to "get them out of the house" and try to give them a weekend they can forget about cares for a bit. We plan to meet them in Charleston. So I told my DD that she would have to pick another date if she wanted us to come!! After all, we have our priorities :) !! She and her bf are starting counseling in a couple of weeks, and they are still looking for a church they are both happy attending. So--everything is still up in the air. I still have my doubts re. this marriage, but I will be very supportive and also will be happy that it is out of my hands, and that I'm not the one marrying the guy.

OK, gotta go.

BTW, the board has been rather quiet this week.

Hi all. Just a quick passing. Our temps are rising as the week goes on and we were gonna go camping this weekend but not with 90's + heading in. Just too hot for me and tent camping. So instead Im having a garage sale with our association sale Fri and Sat. So Ive been busy today getting stuff out that I want to get rid of.
This morning I had to take one dog to the vet for his yearly shots and then take the other one next Sat. It just about costs a arm and leg. Glad I dont have anymore than 2 cause I dont think I could afford it ! lol
Hope everyones had a great week. Ive got 3 more days of vacation and Im determined to enjoy each and every one !

Tom just picked up James from work. I hope he doesn't stay up all night tonight, and makes me late in the morning! Its my volunteer day at the church office.

Tom needs to use the computer, and it is afterall, his...so I best get going here. Sweet dreams everyone! I will talk to you tomorrow!

Well...it's me, again. I'm ticked off at hubby right now, so he's in the LR watching TV, and I decided to get on the computer for a bit. After supper, I had a cup of NSA ice cream, I just kept wanting something sweet and that satisfied it. I had a good workout, so I think it will be okay.

Pancho- that kid sounds like a little turd.

Gator- That's where I want to be. I want to be able to occasionally have a no-no food without the guilt setting in and saying what the heck I already blew it and start a binge. I know logically that it is always better to have a meal or couple of illegal foods than a full binge. The thing with me is to gain my control back. When you make decisions about what you are eating and then get back on track with the next meal or next opportunity, then you are being in control the whole time. I have given in, and given up my control for so long now. I have been just mindlessly eating on illegal foods, purposely. Going from one illegal food, to the next and so on. Sometimes until I have literally made myself feel so sick. I'm glad that I'm able to talk about this finally here. I figured no one would understand because it is different than eating off plan. It's in a whole other ball field. Tomorrow is the "start" of the weekend. I bet you see me post more this weekend than any other weekend since I've joined this board, lol. I really need the support. I HAVE to make it thru. And I want to do it right by not eating any off plan foods. I plan on making a new recipe or 2 this weekend, so I'm actually looking forward to that. I'll get me some more NSA ice cream. If I eat a cup slowly, then it helps with the sweet cravings. The kids love it, too. Alright, that's it for me tonight.

Jack-k, Country- Where ya hiding?

Gooooooo Gators!!! They won their game against ASU tonight so this weekend they will play in the finals in the college world series.

Heart--In a way, you are staying in control, but not in the direction you want to be going. I DO understand about purposefully deciding just to eat the wrong things--to TOTALLY "misbehave" food-wise. In a perverse sort of way YOU are keeping control rather than letting a prior decision to follow a certain way of eating control you. It's like snatching back that good decision and choosing to eat poorly just to show that you are "still the boss." It's weird. Why do we do these things? So maybe you need to sit down and remake the decision as to how you want to eat. Kind of like taking control back from yourself. Perhaps keeping a food diary would also be a useful tool for you as you consider how to become that "sane" eater that you want to be. I agree that it is hard to keep it up for the long haul by yourself. Maybe you need an "eating buddy" who lives close by or who is a good friend, who will be physically there to help you. Anyway, good luck for the weekend.

Heart--I've been thinking even more about what we've been talking about and can also identify with the desire to munch anything that comes along when going through stress. Somehow, when the rest of life seems out of control, being able to eat anything I want brings "comfort" and some sort of wierd feeling of control. Being able to eat what I want and not being subject to "some diet" gives me a measure of control. However, a better solution would be to take action to relieve the stress in the other areas of life. For example, financial stresses can also bring marital stresses. And those are BIGGIES! Here's another suggestion, therefore, that might just help you and your DH find some stress relief both in your finances and in your marriage. It is not marriage counseling nor financial counseling. It is merely a 10 week class designed to help you with some financial issues and find contentment no matter what your income is. It addresses issues such as debt, employment, savings, etc. etc. It is a wonderful class and many lives have been changed for the better for people who have taken it. Check out http://www.crown.org/ and then click on "find a local contact." Then call that person and inquire about getting into a "small group study." The classes are usually taught in churches in the evening, and sometimes they even offer babysitting services. It's good for a couple to take the class together so that they are both on the same page. Anyway, this is just a thought as I pondered more about how stress sabotages us in our eating, and then realized that to solve the eating problem it would be a good idea to start solving the cause of the stress. Hope you find this helpful and that you can find a Crown class.

Gotta go walk. It looks like it is gonna rain any minute and want to get my steps in today. Yesterday I got only 9500. We are having spaghetti tonight, probably the WW kind.

Hello from laundry land! That's all I've been doing for the past 24 hours--LOL!

The machine is going to take a little getting used to. Since it is an all-in-one it can take 4 hours to do a load of laundry (max). It is also a smaller machine than I am used to. It wouldn't work for a family, but for me I think it will be fine. I did towels yeaterday and they took the maximum amount of time, today I'm doing sheets and that is taking less. Tomorrow I'm going to try actual clothing.

I got out an did a bunch of pruning yesterday afternoon. That's got me insired to do more, so I think that will be the weekend project.

Meanwhile we got a Starbucks in Auburn today--makes me think of Deb and wonder how she is doing!

I like all the work that everyone seems to be doing on the board this week to get at the root causes of emotional eating. I know I'm struggling with the urge to sabatoge myself. This happens when I begin to lose weight--in a weird way it scares me. Figuing out what that is is something I've been working on!

Gator--Good advice to Heartmom and to us all! I hope the Gators do well in the CWS!!!

BOB--Now just think how much better Vivian would be if she were a Republican consultant! :s: Glad it's working out for you.

Heart--One of the things that has helped me with portion control is to buy NSA added iccream novelties (like fudgecycles or ice cream sandwiches). I can eat one of those, whereas if I'm scooping ice cream, I go waaaaay overboard.

Cindy--Good luck with the yard sale! I agree- way too hot for camping!

Monet--Sometime those simple dinners can be really great!

Nat--My heart breaks for Lane. Did she recover? I guess you have to learn how to deal with criticism, but still you don't want your little girl hurt. Kids have no idea about how what they say can hurt.

Teensy-Good luck with the boat!

Loet of work to do today and I don't want to do it.

Later,
Susan

Hey, guys. I'm down 2 from yesterday, just need to keep going. I got my workout in earlier. It is so hot and humid here. I went outside to hang out a load of clothes and was all sweaty when I came back in. Later on, I have to go to the grocery store and bank. Yippee. I'm not for sure what I'm going to cook for supper. I guess it depends on what time I get back. Probably will be burgers. I can't find any legal buns anymore. I've looked everywhere. Walmart and the other grocery stores used to carry 2 types that were legal, but not anymore. Guess I'll just use regular bread. I saw those Sara Lee buns that are legal, but they are huge and almost have 40g carbs. Too much.

Menu:
BF- was a grapefruit and plain yogurt
Lunch- will be a leftover chicken breast and green beans
Supper- ?

Gator- I appreciate you offering that. Unfortunately, I know hubby won't go. That's another dilema we've been having. He hasn't gone to church in months and I've asked and pleaded and he just won't go. So I know he wouldn't attend that. But I do sincerly appreciate it.

Fillese- I usually buy the individual bars, too. When I buy the half gallons, I use a cup, not a bowl. A cup is still technically 2 servings, but who only eats 1/2 cup? I just take my time eating it. If you use a bowl, it's very easy to put about 4 servings in it.

Alright, I need to get a bath, check in later...

Heart--The Crown class is not a specific denominational class. It is based on what God teaches in the Bible about how to be content with your finances, and how to live with what God gives you so that you don't have financial frustration. But the only reason they use churches to have the classes is because it is cheaper: usually they can have the classes there free, whereas if they rented a meeting room in a hotel for 10 weeks, it would cost a lot more. You don't even have to be a member of a church to go to the class. Sometimes the classes are held in people's homes. The title of one of the books they used to use for this class was "Your finances--Frustration or Freedom?" I always thought that was a neat title because it gets to the heart of the issue pretty quickly, doesn't it?

Got my spaghetti sauce on for tonight. Now it can simmer for several hours. Got my hair trimmed (a self trim), and am touching up the color on the short ends around my ears. Have to do that between haircuts!!

Fillise---Have fun with your new machine. Wow, 4 hours. I guess you can put a load on in the evening when you get home and it will be ready in the morning when you get up. Sounds easy because you don't have to switch the clothes from the washer to the dryer.

Where is everybody?

Hey everyone! Here I am again! I went to the church office and did my volunteer stuff, then picked up my neighbor and we had lunch. After I dropped her off back at home, I went to the bank. I really ought to be doing something, but honestly, I am SO tired, I think I will take a nap!

For lunch, I was bad, bad, bad! We went to a Mexican place, and I got the lunch special, which was a poblano chili relleno, a taco, beans and guacamole salad. I did not stay away from the chips. I ate a good many with salsa.

I just can't seem to stay awake well enough to write replies right now, so I will be back in a bit!

There are some MIAs...like Country, Keng (tho she is on vacation) and Thinwithin...and Jack... We miss you when you don't post!

Off I go to take a nap!

Hi all. Happy Friday...Just thought I'd check in.

Today's menu:
B: Uncle sam cereal w/ strawberries
L: wendy's BLT salad, ff ranch, diet coke w/ splenda
S: 1 dove dark choc
S: maybe 2 triscuits w/ one slice of cheddar when I get home
D: steak, steamed broc

I think I've been eating good this week. Last weekend was bad though. My cousin was in town and we brought him out to dinner. I ordered a steak salad, but had a slice of banana cream cheesecake for desert. Everyone else ordered dessert, so I just had to!

Question... are taco salads ok (minus the shell)? It has refried beans, sour cream, and guacamole. I'm thinking of going to a Mexi restaurant tomorrow and wondered if I should tell them to hold off on some toppings.

Have a great weekend everyone!

Just a flyby.

I got busy yesterday and forgot to post and today has been busy. It's almost time to go home so no time for replies.

I have done great with exercise this week. 30 minutes in the AM and 30 more in the PM. Only missed the TM 1 day this week. This bun roller thingy is fun. It also hurts.

Big weekend planned. eating should be fine.

Peasy, I get the taco salad w/o the shell. Those toppings should be fine. I don't like sour cream or guacamole so I leave them off anyway.

Gator, some good thoughts you have expressed to Laurie

To the rest of you.. have a great weekend and talk to you monday.
Everyone have a great weekend.

PEASY: Good to see you! Taco salads are ok, if you don't eat the shell. Also, don't eat the rice at Mexican restaurants, the beans are ok. I hate to be a party pooper, but I imagine that your Dove dark chocolates are not legal. Chocolate needs to be 70% cocoa solids, and will say on them if they are. Lindt makes one, as does Sharffenberger. Valrhona makes one too. Other than that, your menu looks good.

Happy Friday:

I can't believe this first month of summer is nearly over. We have been so busy this summer, already. Lane will have her last class next Tues, and Britt Wed. We will then leave for vacation on Thursday, and be gone for about a week. When we get back, the girls will still have swim lessons on Monday, Britt will have a pom/cheer class on Tuesdays, Mom's club on Wed, Gym on Thursdays, and Britt & Lane will both have tumbling on Fridays.

Britt went to her last day of Vacation Bible School today, so Lane went to the gym with me. I have gotten in 4 days of exercise this week, so I may not go tomorrow. I have to get to Wal-Mart, and I also have a hair appt. to get my highlights tomorrow at 8:15 a.m. and to have some of this mop cut.

I just ate a Linda McCartney pizza for lunch, and I do have to say, it was one of the best frozen pizzas I've had. It is not SB friendly, but it is all natural and preservative free. It had red wine mushrooms and cheese; it was very flavorful. I intended to eat half of it, but ate the entire thing.

Half of our state is up in flames; there are about 10 active fires burning right now; please pray for us! We keep getting dry thunderstorms, and the lightning is causing more fires.

Gator: What a pity that ASU lost! Good luck to your Gators! Are you making a new spaghetti sauce? Or is it an old favorite? I would like to find a good homemade sauce instead of my Trader Joes & Whole Food jarred favorites.

Fillise: I'm sending my laundry over! How awesome to be able to wash & dry at once...what next? Lane does seem o.k. today. She woke up screaming twice last night with bad dreams; I still don't know what they were about. I just went in and laid with her and comforted her. Maybe it bothered her more than I thought, or maybe it wasn't that at all. I have to just know that she probably repeats what she hears at home, and she didn't intend to hurt Lane's feelings. It breaks my heart to see my children hurt though.

Heart: Sara Lee makes a smaller bun now that is legal. I just saw them the other day. I used to get the larger ones, and just eat the bottom (like an open-faced sandwich), but will definately get the smaller ones now.

Monet: No wonder you are tired...with a lunch like that. Mexican food always does that to me.....I eat too much and I get way toooo tired, but I love it!

peasy: Taco salads are fine minus the shell. I usually get fajitas when I go out to eat, and just don't eat the tortillas. I eat it more like a salad, with the sour cream and guacamole. I also usually take some of my flax chips with me, so I don't eat the real naughty ones. Good luck.

Jack-K: Keep up the great job with exercising!! You are doing so well.

Gheeez...Lane's birthday will be here 3-4 days after we get home from our trip. She already picked out a Dora cake that I will have to make, and she wants to go to Build-A-Bear Workshop. I have to get by the party store and see if I can find some Dora party hats. It will just be us for her little party, but she doesn't care.

The kids are fighting, so I gotta go.

Have a great OP weekend.

But, there are some days I go through three pair in one day....a pair of thongs to the gym, and then home into a clean pair, and then a clean pair at night before bed....that's equates to 21 pairs now, doesn't it? I guess I better go count  . I love the Jockey ones without any seams; the lycra stretchy ones.

I got out to Wal-Mart this morning, and managed to spend over $100. I didn't even buy any grocery items, except some tomatoes and a cantaloupe. I still can't find the low-carb potatoes. I had to buy some HBA items, and pull-ups, diapers and panties for Lane. She wears panties at home, and diapers still to bed. I am going to have her wear pull-ups on the road, in case we can't get to a bathroom in time. I also packed her little potty seat for the road (I might need it ;) ). I also had to buy canned dog food, and a power touch game for Lane for on the road. It adds up so quickly. I then went to get my hair weaved and cut, and dropped nearly $100 there, including the product that she got for me at a discount price....good thing I only do the weave twice a year!! I then went to Party City and bought some Dora plates, napkins, party hats and streamers for Lane's little party. I am going to be grounded from the checkbook this week.

I also went on Amazon last night and ordered a few birthday gifts for Lane since I won't have much time to shop when we return. I am now prepared; I'll just have to make the cake.

I have some fresh green beans (not mine, unfortunately) cooking at a low simmer for the day, with a slice of bacon, onions & garlic. We will have those with some BBQ ribs and some pearl potatoes (with rosemary and garlic). I love garlic! We will have some sliced tomatoes as well.

Has anyone tried the Kashi granola bars? They are pretty good, and only have 6g sugar, so really only 1 over what is "allowed" on SB. I've been eating one of those and a banana after my morning workouts...it really hits the spot. They have whole grians, nuts, flax, cranberries, honey, etc...in them. They don't taste real sweet either.

I got the refrigerator completely cleaned out and some laundry done. I have some other cleaning to do, so I better go get that done.

Have a great OP weekend.

Wow is it ever hot out!!! We ran to Wal Mart today and did some shopping. It was really crowded so I guess everyone else had the same idea. We looked at some new gas grills and I'm hopeing we could get one soon. I hate our little bitty on the ground one. Also had to go to the vet. Our little boston terrier who's 13 is dying and we're having an awful hard time excepting it. Its so sad when we lose our beloved pets. Eating hasn't been so good. But I'll just keep hanging in there. Time to run....

Slowly I'm working through the pile of clothes on the bedroom floor! I LOVE taking warm towels out of the dryer!

I meant to tell everyone that I lost the lb that I gained last week so I'm back to what my ticker says.

Toni--I'm so sorry to hear that your dog is preparing to cross the rainbow bridge. It's so hard to say goodbye and to let them go. I'm thinking about you.

NAt--Do they even let you out of Walmart if you haven't spent at least $100.00?????

BOB--Gotta love those deals! I will be going through and getting rid of my "holey" undies. Since it took two days for them to dry on the drying rack, I'd go buy more when I ran out an have piles. Now that I can have clean and DRY undies in a couple of hours, I don't need so many!

Monet--where have you been today? Lazing by the pool, I hope! How are the roses?

Peasy--Your menu looks good. I agree on the chocolate--I like the Scharffenbarger (sp) chocolate. Listen to Monet--there are some real chocolate connisseurs in ther house!

Jackie--Have a good weekend!

Hope everyone has a good weekend! Next weekend will be 4th of July weekend--EEEK!

Hey! I'm still around, just lurking this week. ;) The kids went to a science camp day camp from 9-4 every day this week and I worked as a teacher assistant in exchange for payment for the kids. It was the only way to afford to send them, but it was fun and a nice way to work it out for them to go. They did special effects with the gory makeup and stop animation projects and I worked in an emergency vet camp. The week of July 11 we are going again and Sean will do robotics while Rachel is doing the vet camp with me. It's fun for a couple of weeks in the summer.
I think I have some of the common diet issues that have been discussed this week. :( I know what I ahould be eating, but I don't "want" to follow the portion sizes and give up what I want to eat. Last night we went to our favorite Mexican restaurant where we are practically known by name and I knew I should order the fajitas, but that's not what I wanted. So, I got a chicken burrito with rice and beans, my favorite. I just cannot find the motivation to do what I should be doing. I try to cook healthy, but then find myself snacking, or eating candy at my MIL house, or eating what I "want" when we go out or whatever. For some reason I just can't buckle down and do it! :^: I'm going to have to figure it out if I expect to see any changes though. I was hoping to go back to school in August with a little less weight, but it doesn't look like it will happen. It helps to see others who are going through the same thing.
Thanks! :grouphug:

It's me. I'm staying legal! Last night we didn't eat until 8:30!! And we ended up going to my fave Mexican restaurant. I kept it legal but ate every single bite of the huge portions they bring out. I told hubby that the beans and guacamole tasted a little salty. And sure enough, I was up a pound this AM. But I know it's just fluid because I'm being a good girl, lol. Today I had a peach and yogurt for bf, had lunch at Wendy's where I had a small chili and side salad, diet coke. And now I'm hungry but don't know what's for supper, but it will be legal I promise! I would like to type a longer post, but I need some "fuel." I'll check in tomorrow.

Wow, It's amazing that there are so many of you still here! I'm back, just looking for some support. I already feel motivated just reading what you all are up to! Selah is 2 1/2 now and I have a 5 month old, Jacob. THey are both amazing kids. I've moved into Midtown Atlanta. I'm working from home now, and have internet access for the first time in over a year. Life is great!! I'm looking forward to getting back into the groove and getting to know everybody again.

Monet- I miss you!!!

Hmmm... When my post came up, it showed my weight from when I left the board. Ironically, I'm about 178 right now, too. I was 192 when I got pregnant with Jacob, but had a bad pregnancy again. Only gained 12 lbs this time. They make greast diets....

Way to go, Heart.

We bought a new bed today. Our water bed mattress is about 15-20 years old and is not feeling very good any more. So, we got a temperpedic.

Steps over 16000, and we worked out in the yard today, so my back is killing me. Stuck to my caloric goal. Will weigh in on Monday.

Flying by... I am NOT a happy camper! My computer is finished, and up and running, but all my data seems to be lost. I have recovered some documents, but all my favorites are gone, and my pst file ( my email addresses and past emails) are gone. These are things that are not replaceable, and I just want to cry. All my work is gone. :( All my contact info is gone....

TALITHA: You sure are a sight for sore eyes! Welcome back! I sure have missed you!

Hugs to all...gonna go try and 'find' stuff...

HEY GIRLFRIENDS!

Up and at em at 7:15 a.m. and that's early for BOB on a weekend!

Have to tell y'all what I did...took TIPPY over to the school yard for a little walk on Friday. They have instaled a new sidewalk and had now laid the sod to the curb. WELL, I had my house shoes on and stepped up on the curb (good so far) and then put the other foot on the sod. Didn't even thing about all the rain that we've had. WELL.....my feet went out from under me and down I went! I was soaking wet...didn't hurt myself as the sod was really soft. BUT....it hit me the next day...my lumbar region is killing me! AND if that's not enough, this morning, it has moved up to my right shoulder! OUCH!!!! You'd think I'd leard after falling at Whole Foods!!!!!

Nothing plannned for today except laundry....

Hope everyone has a great day!

A quickie before heading to church!

Thin--I think a lot of good wark has been done on the board this week--I know decision time is critical. It often helps me to think past the decision I ama about to make about food. In other words, "If I eat this, then what?" This can help you get out of the "what I want now" and into thinking about long range goals. When I make myself do it, it helps me make better decisions regarding eating!

Heart--WTG!!!! Stay with it, making good decisions is its own reward!!!!

Talitha--WELCOME HOME! It is good to hear from you again--it sounds like you have been busy while away! I can't believe that Selah is 2 1/2 now! You know what "support r us!!!!!!"

Missy--Good to hear from you too! I bet those boys are keeping you busy. How old are they?

Gator--let us know how you like the tenpurpedic. I've been eyeing those myself!

Monet--Sorry about your hard drive--that's the pits. I've had that happen before and it stinks!!!!!

BOB--What are we going to do with your girl? Tell Tippy that he needs to be taking better care of you!

Got to get ready for church. Let's all make good decisions today!

Flying by...so far so good today. I had a handful of macadamia nuts and a cucumber for an early breakfast, then a cup of espresso. I need more food, but it just hit me that I was hungry. I need to do replies, but my stomach is being insistent!

A few comments:

HEART: Way to go! I KNEW you could do it! You are one incredible woman, and don't forget that!

THIN: I hear ya... Fillise is right...we have to decide if we want to reach goals and have instant gratification that will turn into some degree of self loathing later. With Talitha back, we need to plan a Georgia get together. (she used to live in Marietta and says she has moved to Midtown...) I bet we could talk Fillise into coming over for it... :)

BOB: Oh, dear! I am SO sorry you are hurt again. I am praying for a speedy recovery.

PANCHO: When do you leave?

TONI: <<hugs>> I know how hard it is to make the decisions you are facing on a beloved pet.

FILLISE: I love the idea of that washer and dryer...will have to check into it. :) So when are you coming to visit? Bring a cooler...you are going to want to stock up when you are here! ;)

Ok, I really meant to just fly by, but didn't! I will check in later!

BOB--Get thee to a chiropractor.

Monet--My condolences on the loss of your stuff on your 'puter. That's the pits. Hopefully you can recover. Maybe a "super-guru" can if you take your old computer to him. Then he can put it on disk and you can put it back. I've read that a "super-geek can even tell what you used to have on your hard drive after you've erased it.

Heart--congrats again, girl. Keep up the good work.

Fillise and Thin--Amen. The challenge between what do I want to eat RIGHT NOW, vs. what do I choose to eat now that will help me in the long run, is a biggie, and crucial to our achieving success.

Fillise--I'll let you know about the TemperPedic. It will take about a month to get it. We got the power frame also that will make the bed adjustable. I talked them into throwing in a couple of free memory foam pillows, and I slept like a baby last night on mine. My DH still tossed and turned and is looking forward to the new bed. Actually, I think his problem is just age and mental!!! LOL

Got lots of yard work done yesterday. Our yard man let our yard go to pot the month we were gone and there were lots of weeds greeting us when we got home. He spiffed the place up last week, but yesterday, we perfected the front yard and planted 90 dwarf pentas in an area by our front side walk where the old plants had basically bit the dust. Boy was I aching when we finished all the work. When we went back to buy the bed I sat in their massage chair for about 30 minutes, and it helped a lot.

DH went to hit golf balls this afternoon, so I will do some cross stitch. I'm about 20 hours away from finishing an afghan I started about 25 years ago. It has 30 squares of cross stitched wild flowers, very detailed and intricate, and I have added a Bible verse that goes across the top of each square--about considering the lilies of the field and that even King Solomon with his beautiful and rich robes is not as spendid as one of those (flowers).

Taught Sunday School this morning for 3rd and 4th graders. It's been years since I've done that, and am finding it actually quite fun. Years ago I used to train S. School teachers, and now I'm having to put back into practice those principles that I myself taught to others. Fun!

Fruit--Hope you are having great fun this weekend. See how much energy you can expend with children. And how important you health is when you have that responsibility. You go, girl!! We are all happy for you. My DH and I are coming to NO and coming up to Red Stick for the UF game vs. the Tigers.

Well, guess I should go and do the laundry which is in a big pile. Hi to Jackie, Pancho, Talitha, and all you other wonderful SB friends. Country, where are you? BOB, what's the latest on Debbie. Is she still living in Miami?

Hello again!

Gator--Sometimes I find myself grumbling about teaching SS, but then I get there and just fall in love with the kids all over again! I have the 3 & 4 year olds. This morning we took a brown paper bag ( folded down to about 1/4 of its height) and covered it in masking tape to make a basket for the baby Moses. We Put a doll in the basket and they took turns "floating" him down the river and finding him. They are just too cute!

Monet--I'd love to come get together with the Altanta gals. A Saturday afternoon would be great (but I'll be in NC/NYC from July 9-20). The Washer/Dryer combo is small--I don't think it would work for more than 2 people. It's fine for me, but if I had a family it woould be way too small. I have a feeling your crew goes through the laundry!

Ok off surf--have a great day everyone!

Hey, guys. I am super-stuffed. I just ate 3 meals worth at one sitting, plus more starches than I can count. But...it was all legal. Let me backtrack. I got up this morning and the fluid pound was gone, but that's it. I was expecting something for doing good, like a reward! No reward. So I was a little bummed about that. And then I was running late for church this morning and didn't have time to eat anything at all. So my stomach was growling all thru church. So by the time I got home, I was starving and ate 2 cups NSA ice cream before I knew it. Then I cooked hamburgers and ate 2 BIG fully-loaded(bread, mayo, cheese, and all)cheeseburgers AND 14 triscuits with french onion dip. OMG- I feel like I could pop! I know that has to be at least 2000 calories in 1 meal, and wayyy too many starches and fat. Doesn't help that I'm not exercising today either. I wonder if I can make it thru the rest of the day without eating? It's not like I'm going to starve, lol. I imagine it will take a few hours just for my stomach to empty. I'm going to try and skip supper and maybe(a huge maybe with fingers crossed) I won't show a gain tomorrow. Well, at least I accomplished one thing....I MADE IT THRU THE WEEKEND WITHOUT ANY ILLEGAL FOODS AND NO JUNK FOOD BINGEING! So next weekend's goal will be the same plus watching portions. I think I can do this. Baby steps. One goal at a time. CTS- This evening I'm going to a wake/visitation for a little boy from our church. So sad. He was around 11 and died from a brain tumor that was diagnosed last year. Robby is going with me since he is friends with the boy's Dad. I can only begin to imagine their pain and heartache. I told Robby to think about his worse moment with Boogie(on the brink of losing him)and magnify that 100 times and that's the only way you can understand what they are going thru. I cry just thinking about what they must be enduring. The service at church was wonderful, but emotional. The preacher just broke down and cried. He said he asked the Lord, Friday evening(the day Josh passed away)to take as much of the parents pain as he could, to give it to him. He said he's had it rough since, and that Henry(the boy's Dad) made a comment "I know I shouldn't be feeling this, but I feel at peace." Kinda eerie. I've tried to ask myself what would I do if one of my kids was to die before me and I just feel like I would be a total nut, I just don't know how I would react. It's something you can't say for sure unless you actually go thru it. Just a couple of months ago, Henry confided in Robby that if his boy died, he would feel let down by God and it would test his faith. And I can totally understand that. And now that it has come to pass, it's odd that he has found peace. Only one thing I can sum that up with..GOD. Okay, that's enough talk about that, hope no one reports me for talking about God and so forth. I've rambled on long enough...check in tomorrow.

Good day everyone. Just got done making breakfast burritos for DH breakfast this week. He takes them to work and has one a day. They're ham and egg this time, so that will make him a happy man. Thanks so much for the nice comments about having to deal with a very sick pet. We're going to barbeque chicken later on for dinner. Not sure what else we'll be having. But for now we're having a nice Sunday....

Toni- How do you go about making those? Robby always spends too much on bf while working. I take it you freeze them, whole??

Toni48
06-26-2005, 04:14 PM
They're really easy. Can be frozen or left in the fridge. Just fry up some breakfast meat. Ham, bacon, or sausage. Scramble a dozen eggs in with the cooked meat. Steve likes a little onion in them sometimes cooked in with the meat and eggs. Heat flour or ww large tortilla's a couple at a time in the microwave for 25 seconds. Put scrambled eggs, a handful or two of cheese down the middle of the shell and roll up putting bottom up. Wrap in plastic wrap. You could put salsa or hot sauce in them too. Then heat up in the microwave.

Heart--I don't know that I would skip dinner tonight. Can you make a big salad? I think you should try to have something otherwise you could get like you were when you skipped beakfast this morning! I'm sorry to hear about your friend's son. Soemtimes when you've seen someone you love suffer, then you can have peace knowing your loved one is free from pain and fear. Your friend will have tough times ahead, I'm sure, but maybe the peace your friend is feeling now is God's way of letting him know that the little boy is safe with Him.

Toni--That breakfast burrito sounds good. I might have to keep some of those in my freezer for the days when I have to grab breakfast on the go.

Hi all. Im sorry I dont have time to post comments again. I need to go back to work to get some rest ! LOL. Been a hectic vacation. Alot of time at my folks. I was there most of today then Mom called just a bit ago and says dad is really bad this evening and she hopes he wont have to head to the emergency ward. I think he is finally going to except some help from hospice a few hours a day. My moms about wore out trying to take care of him and do her normal household chores and then try to get to the grocery and not wanting to leave him home so shes been taking him with her and that wears her out even more just helping him to get ready to go and gettting him in and out of the car. I went over today and cleaned her house hoping that will let her relax a little. So I got lots of extra exercise in cleaning two houses today.

Monet- Judy over on the LCC was asking for some advice on fasting and I mentioned that you might be able to help since you fasted not too long ago.

Hi to everyone else. Please accept my apologies for not being able to respond to everyone lately. I am trying to keep up on reading the daily posts and I wish and pray for the best for everyone. :)

I have a couple of questions for you... Are the low carb tortillas legal on SB? they say they have 7 gms of fiber in them and no sugar. Also are the cream soups Ok for casseroles, etc. as long as there is no added sugar? Thanks so much for all your words of encouragement and insight. I'm going to try to think long and hard about my goals and it may be that, like Heart, I need to decide to make one change at a time and know that I am making slow but sure progress! :)
