Hello and welcome to the Jaded Ladies!

Good Friday Morning to you ladies!

Just a quickie here for now...after catching up I don't have time to do individuals. I have got to jump in the shower and get to the mall. Ran out of lotion and candles so going to get a few while I am there. My main goal for going is to get a much needed haircut! I have been holding on to a picture of a do I really like for about a year now, or longer! LOL And finally going to go do it.

Have a good day ladies and I will be back later!

06-17-2005, 04:00 PM
Well, I'm back...

Love the haircut but would have liked to have gone just a wee bit shorter. Maybe I'll go have it cut about 1 inch in a week or two, we'll see. I'm always scared going to someone new...not knowing if they are any good or not. Was relieved she was and definitely will go back to her. Of course the way my luck goes with hair stylists is I go a few times and then they leave. Then I am left to find a new person. That is one reason I don't get my hair cut often!

Susan~you are welcome for the card as always. I just feel for you going through this mess with Mike and all and want you to know that I do think about you. Plus, I know we can all use a pick-me-up once in a while. I totally "ditto" what Marti said about the whole situation. While one would think he has no rights until he gets his s*&^ together the law is a totally different arena. And that is sad-it's sad that in this day and age that the man can still have the right to pick up his child when he is not supposed to be driving, and he has the restraining order! Never ceases to amaze me and I feel for you because it saddens me and I can only imagine what it is doing to you and Gaby. She's the one that should be protected in all this, it's just not right. (((((HUGS))))) to you and her.

Jane~glad at least nothing was in the fridge to ruin, but it is still a pain to have to replace an appliance, a costly pain. For something like that, I think I too would try to find a used one to replace it. Have fun swimming today! I was thinking about buying a new suit and going to our pool, gets kind of busy at times but I would still love to go. Maybe next week when things are a little bit slower around here and I can go about 10 am when no one is there-wouldn't want to scare anyone off!

Angie~why do you hate your picture? Of course I ask that but I have dreaded showing my face to you ladies because I hate my pictures too!I think you are a beautiful lady! Loved all the pics but my fav has to be the headless person. Did you do that? So cool...I've heard a couple of songs off Black Eyed Peas new CD. Also, have the song Let's Get It Started as one of my ring tones on my cell. I downloaded a bunch so I can change them all the time. Need to go see if they have any new ones I like. Right now I have I'll Be Around, or is it just I'll Be? Hmmm, not sure now, and I have the CD! Anyway, it plays part of the chorus "Whenever you call me, I'll be there" funny thing is, whenever someone calls I'm hardly ever there!!! Still not used to having a cell phone so it goes in my purse and I usually forget about it. I too love Janet E's style! And thank you for getting me started on her books!

Terri~glad you finally got some sleep and cleaning done. Wanna come clean my house now?! Had it clean but the living room is a mess now. Oh well, I will get to it later today before V gets home. Glad he is working late so he doesn't come home to the mess-not that it matters to him. I don't think he would want it looking like a pig sty but he would never say anything.

Marti~hope the dentist visit wasn't too bad for ya.

Hi to everyone else  Hope you are enjoying your day!

I am taking it easy right now and just getting a couple loads of laundry done. Had to sit for a few minutes to relax from running around but did manage to get everything done on my list. Was worried that everything I ordered for V for Father's Day would come in and low and behold, just got the last thing today, thank goodness. I also ordered him some flowers. I saw this car arrangement and thought why not...he always buys me flowers so why not do it for him. He'll have the flower to stuff pens or something in. Anyway, ladies, :blah: :blah: :blah: getting chatty again. I am going to take off and get the living room cleaned and then about 3, I am headed outdoors to do some staining. I have been doing four or five sections each time I go out which takes about 2 or 3 hours so this time will finish the back up. Possibly Saturday & Sunday I may do some. Then Monday I will be done. Unless I get a big burst of energy and do more tomorrow and Sunday. I know you guys will probably be glad when I am done so I will quit talking about it!! Okay, I am outta here.

Take care and have a WONDERFUL weekend.

06-17-2005, 09:18 PM

It went really kind of crappy to put it mildly.

My ex husband and I waited and waited. Mike showed up at 11:13 am. Two
more minutes and I could have left with Gaby to the siiter.

He drove up as a passenger and they(it was a male driver, long
hair ,30ish) parked in the middle of the street.

Both got out and walked towards me. Mike says "I have a driver". I
didn't even say anything about his suspension.

I said to the man "can I know who you are, can I have a name, can I see
a license?" I wanted to know who this man was that was going to drive
my daughter.

Mike says "we don't have give you that." I said " I know but can I have
it anyway?"

So, the driver started walking back to the car and sat in the drivers
seat. He started to write.

I asked Mike where would he be this weekend. Mike said "Susan, I don't
have to tell you that."
I said that he did.
I started walking towards the car and asked again where he would be.
That it was part of the order, my lawyer told him he needed to provide
me with the information.

He again refused.

I said fine it was in violation of the order. The man in the car was
holding up the paper and I reached in the car to take it. The window
was half way down. I took the paper and started taking my hand out when
Mike yelled "don't give it to her if she isn't going to produce Gaby"

My hand was out of the window by now and Mike grabbed my arm. He
twisted it and I said "let me go!"

He let go and started walking around the front of the car. I
said..."that just got you a restraining order."

He got in the car and took off.

I went into my office and called 911. The police show up an hour later.

The one officer started talking like it is a custody thing and things
can get ugly. That Mike's story was it was I that grabbed him.

I said "you already talked to Mike??" Yes, he had called and it was me
that hurt him.

One officer questioned me and the other one my ex husband. The officer
that questioned my ex husband said "will your stories match."

He asked again was I sure what I wanted to do........blah, blah. I
finally said "he grabbed me. You are not going to put doubts in my
mind. What he did was wrong. I want to press charges.I am not use to
this, I don't like the way you are talking to me."

He was upseting. He was going on and on about custodial interference -
like I was making the whole thing up.

So, they took pictures of my arm. The officer said that was one thing
in my favor because it looks like a twist, a burn from Mike's hand on
my arm.Now he was being ok and wasn't making me feel like I was lying.

So, they were going to go back and question Mike. There should be a
report by Monday. I am going to get a restraining order Monday. The
policeman said I shouldn't have a problem getting one.

Gaby was upstairs with her sisters. She was packed.....if Mike told me
where he was going to be I was prepared to let her leave. It was part
of the order though. I kept saying where was he going to be and he was
saying he didn't have to tell and also he didn't know.....I
said....."when will you know?"

He wouldn't say.......

06-17-2005, 10:18 PM
you go, girl...for sticking up for yourself and Gaby!

Thinking good thoughts for you.....

06-17-2005, 10:22 PM
Oh my goodness Susan!! What the heck is wrong with that guy?! He's lost his freaking mind! I am glad that you called the police because no man has the right to hit a woman and with him acting like an a$$ he had no business taking off with Gaby. And with a some man you know nothing about. And the cop!!!!! No wonder people go off and hit cops! And that's sad that he was taking Mikes side till he saw your arm. So glad the ex was with you, that was too scary. No telling what the guy will do. I just hope to god that he hasn't been a jerk to Gaby while she was with him. Lots of (((((HUGS))))) and you be careful when it comes to him, no telling what he will do. :grouphug:

I'm a little bored so thought I would come visit and see if anyone has posted. Been sitting outside, first on the swing, and then on the deck enjoying the quiet. Never noticed there were so many birds flying around. Those icky looking black birds. Anyway, finished the back of the fence, HOORAY!!! Now just have the one side and front/side gate to do and that's it for 3 or 5 years! Can't remember how long the stain is supposed to last. Getting ready to go watch Are We There Yet. Wanted to go see it at the movies when it first came out but for some reason never did. DS bought it-he buys a lot of DVD's before seeing the movie something I wouldn't do. Also, going to watch Spanglish sometime this weekend. If he keeps buying DVD's I'll never have to rent any! :p

Anyway...take care ladies and have a GREAT weekend!

See ya Monday

06-18-2005, 12:51 AM
Hi to all Jl's. We are finally getting some cooler weather, mid 70's and it is so pleasant to be out and about. No a/c on just windows opened. I love it.
I did all the sweeping, cleaned off the washer and dryer, cleaned both bathrooms, washed a load of hubbies shop rags, filled the birdfeeders and made hummingbird nectar. Then we went for a late lunch/early dinner, stopped at the grocery and got home to rest for an hour before going to our little neighbor boy's little league game. He is so cute, he must have asked DH 4 times if we were going for sure. Then he came and rang the doorbel to show us his uniform and said "so you will know who you are looking for." LOL Honostly though, I am glad my days at the ballfield are over. I put in my time there and it was fun, but I am glad it is in my past. (Now, it will be another story if my "grands" have little ones...I will be hanging out at the park!)

Susan- You go girl! Stick up for yourself and don't let him get away with being such a jerk. I am just appaled that he would act like that in the first place. Good that you had a witness.

Cristi- Whew, you have worn me out with your staining. It just sounds like such a big job. AND you have to do it again in a few years. Not fair! Glad you like your hair. I find that most hairdressers don't want to cut too short. They always do mine and ask if I want more off. I just tell them it will grow if it gets too short. This last time I told her shorter...shorter, and I love it. So another inch off might be just what you want!

Angie- Love the pictures and you are a beautiful lady. Hope you are getting along okay with your cast. Woo hoo for Brandon's not needing the surgery.

Jane- A used refrigerator might be hard to find. We have one of those dorm ones that we keep in the utility room just for cans of drinks. Keeps the clutter out of the kitchen one. I hate buying appliances...just so expensive. We are going to need a new dishwasher and a new stove if we don't move next year. I want a smooth top electric range and would love a bottom freezer refrigerator. DH wants a side by side ref., so we will see what happens.

I forgot to mention that my BIL who was near death in Feb. is one week away from being done with his physical therapy. Then he should be able to leave his sis' house and go back to his home. (one block from his sis, so she can check in on him.) He has done so well and is not using a walker at all now. Quite a miracle really.

My DGS just finished driver's training. He got an A-, did so well on the parallel parking that the teacher had him do it 3 times to show off. lol (why can males do that so easily and I have talked to lots of women who just refuse to do it? me included)

Nothing much coming up for our week-end. I plan to be lazy tomorrow, then Sun. will go to church and also fix DH a nice dinner.

Have a nice week-end all JL's. Relax if you can find the time.

06-18-2005, 08:51 AM
Good morning!

Cristi - I'd love to see a photo of your new haircut. Most of the photos I have of you are not close ups, so it's hard to see your hair real well. But the close-up has your hair at a couple inches past shoulder length, with bangs, (you have on a yellow and blue jacket) and the cut looks real good on you. Not sure what I want to do with mine, but it's longer than it has been for awhile. I'll post a new avatar if I can get a decent shot, lol.

Susan - yikes! So sorry you're going through all this turmoil in your life. Hopefully an authority somewhere will put an end to it all.

Katy - so how was the bd and anniversary celebrations?

Sue - I also hate buying new appliances! Not sure we're going to replace the fridge since we use it mainly at holiday time anyway, except for pop and popcorn in the husks. Since Mary lives so close, I could use hers, too, if I cook early for an event. So glad your bil is doing so well! YAY for DGS's good grades.

Went swimming again with Mary and the kids yesterday. Have to do some preparations for Father's Day today. Mary and Gina are doing most of the cooking, but I'm making cherry pies with cherries fresh off the trees! Last year, if you remember, I had one piece spread over 2 days, lol. This year I'll have 1 piece at 1 sitting. Thank goodness for WW soup to even things out.

Have a great weekend!

06-18-2005, 09:51 AM
Thank you all for the lovely bday and anniversary wishes....for all you gals keeping count, I turned 40 on Wednesday, and then turned around and celebrated our 15th anniversary on Thursday. Birthday was laid back (as I requested) I bought some beer n' brats and a decadent dessert at New Seasons and we just stayed home. Thursday, the kids went to a friend's house, then DH and I saw Batman Begins ( REALLY good! Best Batman ever) and treated ourselves to dinner at Newport Bay. I hadn't been there in years. I had Hawaiian tombo tuna with a wasabi aoili... and some perfect sauteed asparagus. So yummy! So, today I am back OP, but I really enjoyed my two days off, that's for sure! I did compensate a bit by making it to the gym for early a.m. classes two days in a row. We'll see what that scale has to say today.

Our Father's Day plans are shaping up... we are going to take David to the neighborhood farmer's market after church on Sunday for lunch and shopping, of course. I am hankering for some fresh cherries, and more asparagus...can't seem to get enough of that stuff. He and DS and his Dad are going to take a guys-only day trip out to the Evergreen Air Museum to see the Spruce Goose...that's going to happen later in the week.

Other than that, life is just moving right along. We're close to hiring a concrete the foundation should get the started in the next week or so. Kids are going to VBS next week and hopefully getting in on the free swim lesson week the Parks n Rec offers . DH is going to go stand in the long line this am and try to score some spots for the kids.

Jane - oooh those cherries sound so good! we are starting to see the fresh, organic ones at the markets...I can't wait. I don't make pies....I just eat them right out of the carton; there's never enough left for a pie.

Cristi - what Jane said - would love to see a pic of your new hair. Yay the fence is almost done!

Susan- hope you got a good night sleep and are feeling a little better today. Enjoy your time with Gaby today... the rest is going to take care of itself. Sounds like Mike is cracking up.

Sue - your little neighbor is just too cute! We just felt the pain of having to buy some new appliances. We just bought a new washer/dryer...then had to get a new dishwasher as well. Nice thing, though, is that they are energy efficient models and our state kicks back a tax credit on them. Took little sting out of it all.

Angie - you looked great in your picture..thanks for sharing the Pippin pics. I used to make all the costumes for the productions at my high school drama department, so I love looking at costumes.

Well, it's ciao for now, my JL pals....have a great weekend and give a hug to all the great dads you know....and smack the bad ones upside the head :s:

06-18-2005, 02:01 PM
Good morning. I just had a good laugh.... The little neighbor, who is 6, rang my doorbell. When I answered he wanted to know if my husband could come out and play. I said well, come in and ask him. It was so cute and funny!
(We have a half bball court in our back yard. Yesterday DH put up a new net on the bball goal and the little guy was out there, so they threw a few basketballs around and in... I guess he thought he had a new playmate.) LOL.

Cool here today and I am being very lazy. I got out a box of pictures and plan to sort and seperate those. Looking for pics. for making the scrapbook. I have been bad about throwing photos in a box. ugh...

06-19-2005, 02:14 PM
Hope everyone has a special day w/their Father/Huband today!!

I'll be in touch soon....I have an extra long weekend w/Jhanai!!

06-20-2005, 12:07 AM
wow...everyone was busy elsewhere today. I took DH out for lunch and my Mom came along. DD and her family were here in the morning for awhile. All the other kids called. We lazed around after lunch and then took our walk..2 miles. It was a nice, sunny, but not too hot day.
I missed being able to call my Dad. Which made me think about my brother and all gave me pause for a little bit of sadness. Life isn't always fair.

06-20-2005, 09:39 AM
Good Morning,

Hope everyone had a good Fathers Day. WE didnt do much here. My brother brought home a bucket of chicken..Wow.. like as if that isnt the most fattening thing in the world. So i had some macaroni salad and one piece of chicken. I swam long enough to burn it off i am sure lol. WE got the pool set up this week-end. Yay.. I can do swimming for my exercises now. It is about the only exercise i like doing.
Well i am still tired.. maybe i will go lay down for a bit... ill check in later... ttfn xxoo

06-20-2005, 09:40 AM
It's Monday!

Katy - I would never have thought to sauté asparagus, but it sounds really good. Hope the scale was kind to you. Neal and I both would love to see the Spuce Goose - bet your fellas have a good time with that. Must be VBS time nationwide, lol, since ours starts today, too. Mary and Katie are working it this year. Katie will be one of the teachers in the twins' classroom, while Mary will be with the 9 & 10 year olds.

Sue - sounds like your DH has a new good buddy, lol. Katie has been making DVDs with our photos, and setting them to music. Gina has gotten her some orders, too, to make money while doing it. I';m so behind on the scrapbooking I wanted to do! But at least all of my photos are in albums, lol. I know what you mean about the missing dads - my sister and her DD, who both lost their husbands, had a rough day yesterday.

Marti - hope you had a great long weekend with Jhanai. Any special plans?

The kids and grandkids came over yesterday, and the daddies in our family got spoiled royally, lol. After the noon meal, we spent lots of time in the yard watching the kids play.

Anyone watching Into the West? It's a 6-part series and part 2 was on last night. Just wondering.

Have a great Monday! :)

06-20-2005, 12:05 PM
On and off of here quickly today. Going to take Jhanai to Portland for a special trip for her birthday! (tomorrow is her B-day)

She had requested earlier in the year that she wanted to do a "Make a Bear" so that is what we're doing for her. Then it's to browse around the malls. Should be a lot of walking!

Off I Go to get ready. THis getting up at 8:00 in the morning is for the birds! So not a morning person......I enjoy rolling out of bed around noon. :D

TTYL Ladies!

06-20-2005, 01:52 PM
Hi ladies,

Wow, what a weekend. We took Joycelyn up north again this weekend, and although the weather wasn't the greatest, we still had fun. I go lots of walking in, while Jerry pressure washed our deck.

I have some news.

But first some history.

I have had a weight problem all my adult life. My mother is convinced that a lot of it has to do with my metabolism, and my thyroid. I have been on medication in the past for my thyroid, and the last couple of times I have had it tested it has come back borderline hypo, but not enough (according to my doctor) to warrant medication. Just enough to make it very difficult for me to lose weight.

I have mentioned before that I have tried just about everything to lose weight, and have only failed. Only one diet program ever worked for me, and when I was on it I lost almost 60 pounds and kept it off for 3 years. (Then I got Pregnant) and gained it all back, plus 15 pounds. This time around I decided that I would go the diet and exercise route again, because I couldn't afford the diet that helped me lose the weight before ($$$$$$)

Well, have been busting my *** since February, and have been watching what I eat and to date I have lost 5 pounds. I continue to work out as much as I can and I am really careful about what I eat.

I am becoming quite discouraged. I really have to wonder if there is something physiologically wrong with me cause this just does not seem to be working. Yet I still continue to plug away at it.

This has not gone unnoticed by my husband. He told me that he thinks that I should go back to the diet doctor. I told him that I could not possibly afford it, and he told me that he had money saved and that he would pay for it.

He told me that he knows how hard I am working and that he knows how miserable I am with a closetful of clothes that don't fit, and said, that even though it was expensive, that he would pay for it because he knows it will make me happy.

Awwwwwwwwwww..

Now, don't get me wrong. I am definitely NOT taking the easy way out. This particular diet is extremely strict in the weight loss phase. There are only vegetables, fruits, very lean proteins and 2 servings of Breads allowed per day. I have to go into the doctors office 3x per week for Vitamin B6/B12 shots. I have to follow the program without deviation. I have to meet with the doctor/nurses for blood tests, and am constantly monitored.

I will lose weight quickly. The program guarantees a minimum weight loss of 10 pounds per month, most likely more though. Once I have reached my goal weight, they start adding back foods and monitoring me to see the effect they have on my weight. For example, They start by giving back lets say potatos. Then we monitor to see how they affect my weight if I have say potatoes 2 times a week and there is no weight gain then they increase it to 3 times a week and if there is a weight gain then I know that I need to be careful with potatoes.

In the strict phase there are no potatoes, regular bread, peas carrots, corn rice, or pasta. All this gets added back once on maintenence.

In total, I should be done with my weight loss in about 4- 5 months. I'm not kidding myself either. It WILL be HARD at times, but OH SO WORTH IT.

If you read all that. Thanks. I will really be coming on here a lot more because I know that I am going to need the extra support, and I know that y'all will be there for me.

I start on Monday.

SUSAN OH my GOD! Sweetie, what an ordeal. WTG for sticking up for you and Gaby. Mike seriously needs help. Thank good ness you had the presence of mind to call 911. God knows what else may have transpired.

ANGIE You sure are one gorgeaous lady. Thanks for sharing the pictures. It's nice to put a face to the name.

TTFN everyone. Lunch break is over. and the phones are ringing like crazy.

will post more later.

Ellen--A great big hug to you and your son & his girlfriend!!

Thinking of you! :grouphug:

06-20-2005, 11:59 PM
Good evening. Hope you all had a great day. It was sunny and warm here today and we had to turn the A/C back on. I did laundry, again...seems like a daily task and way too much for 2 people. I guess we are TOO clean. lol.
I picked the "grands" up at summer school and took the girls to bible school..DD was teaching music and they were going to help serve snacks to the little ones. DGS passed on bible school and spent the time here with us. Later I took him home and went to buy some produce for the week. I was out of salad fixings and also found some yummy cantaloupe. (not Indiana yet, but it was good)
We don't have much planned for the week, do any of you have anything exciting going on?

Anita- What is the program you are going to be doing? What I mean, is there a name for it? Sounds like a good deal if you eat healthy and get monitored. Very considerate of DH.

Ellen- I sent you a hug, but now I am sending you another. I hope your son and his girlfriend are doing okay. Hugs to them also.

Jane- I forgot to watch Into the West. I thought it looked like it was going to be good. It would be a welcome change to all the re-runs.

Managed to get in a walk tonight after the sun went down. I swear I am walking and exercising and the weight is not going anywhere...1 pound last week. I am hoping for 2 this week and will ramp up the walking now that my neighbor friend is home again. She and I walk faster and longer than DH wants to.

Have a good week to all the JL's.

06-21-2005, 12:14 AM
{{{{{{ELLEN}}}}}} I am sooooo sorry for your family. What a sad thing to happen. Many prayers.

I am going to get Gaby.

I obtained a restraining order today, I go down Wednesday and talk things over with my lawyer.

best get.

06-21-2005, 03:06 AM
Ellen, hugs sweetie.

Susan, Im glad you are standing up for yourself.

Cristi, oh how nice to be able to sit back and know you put in your hours for a wonderful looking back yard. So how was the movie?

Sue,,,I laughed about your DH and his new lil buddy. We had this lil boy who lived a few houses down the street who would come over to hang out with Brandon,,,who was 15 yrs old, the kid was 3-4 They would sit and watch SpongBob square pants...and eat Mr.

Jane, I just felt so bad for you sister and hard it had to have been,,,and will continue to be hard.

Anita, Ive heard of that program...and heard the good results,,,hard to do but worth it if you can follow through.

Terry, I could of filled a swimming pool with all the rain we have had.

Infact a state of emergency was issued...many towns of been flooded,,,1,500 houses had to be evacuated actually not far from our house but cause we are on higher ground we are ok. There is water ban,,,,huge fines if caught watering lawns and such...who would water their lawn after all the rain we had? People are being asked to limit showers to 5 minutes, refrain from doing laundry.

We are having a grad (Brandon) / birthday (my youngest brother) / anniversary (my parents / new baby (my cousins on Saturday had a baby girl) party. Mom and I went through the menu again tonight and made some changes,,,all for making life ooo so much easier for both of us.

I did a lil shopping the other day and bought the cutest shirt,,,funky blue with sequins, and a funky halter top,,,in orange and purple,,,I know with them colors its gotta be funky,,,,lol Talking funky Tanners hair is purty wild.
So far having a good day,,,period finally stopped,,,16 days is a bit much. 9 days and I see the specialist again...just take it all!

Have done another library run and got 2 more books from Susan Elizabeth Phillips,,,Fancy Pants and (can't quite remember) Where the heart is? Finished them and have gotten 2 more...savoring What a great time to break a foot,,,can sit and read and no one And with the water ban can't I am so seeing everything on the bright
well I should get to bed...
night all

hi ladies,

Just a quick pop in to answer your questions about the diet I am going to be doing.

It's the Dr. Bernstein Plan. It has been pretty controversial and some people really don't like it. But for me it's the only thing that ever worked. You really need to be of the right mindset. That's why I am reading Dr. Phil's book again too.

Here's a link with more information. As far as I know he only has clinics in canada, though I did hear that he was going to open up a couple of clinics stateside.

You have to log in but it's a fairly easy process.

Good morning ladies,

Ellen - you first! I'm so very, very sorry for your loss. My Mary's first baby died inside her, and they had to take it out per D&C, and that was so hard!!! I had already gotten to love the little thing, even though Mary was only about 2 months along. I'm here if you need me, sweetie. All the Jaded Ladies are, ok?

Marti - Happy Birthday to Jhanai!! What kind of a bear did she end up making? We have a shop like that in Evansville, called Build a Bear, and the place is always crowded! Did you find any good bargains in the mall? Summer stuff is on sale everywhere, and I have to admit I picked up a few more things yesterday.

Anita - I also was wondering if this new diet plan has a name? Don't you get any dairy products? Yes, please come here for support. I still do, lol. Read the Maintainers pages for inspiration, too, when you have time. I don't post there, since I never did make goal, and am still too fat! It seems hard, or too time consuming, for us to post at a weight loss thread, so maybe we should just try and talk more about it in this chit chat thread.

Sue - one pound is fine, hon. Especially at your weight range. Don't you just love spending time with the grandkids? What did we ever do w/o them???

Susan - I hope you and your lawyer have a good talk. Actually, I hope you do the talking and he does the listening! Want me to come out there and straighten him out??? lol

Angie - thank God you're on high ground and didn't get flooded! Glad your other flooding problem has stopped. Do you think you'll be getting a D&C or a hysterectomy? A party, huh? What time should I be there?? Sounds like a whole lot of fun, and a great way to get lots of events celebrated at the same time.

Katy - hiya! I forget which weight loss program you ended up with? Whatever it is, how's it going now that the birthday and anniversary is over?

Well, ladies, since I haven't been doing my Gazelle or treadmill, I can really tell a (bad) difference in myself. I took my measurements, and sure enough, they're up a little! Not much, but I want to nip it in the bud before it becomes a problem. I truly thought I could get enough exercise outdoors, but it hasn't happened! My promise to myself is to put the Gazelle back out and do it Monday through Friday. I like how a person can really work out their arms on that thing, too. And how you stand determines which leg muscles get the better workout. I wish I had a place for a treadmill, my favorite, but alas, I just don't.

What are your plans for the day?

06-21-2005, 12:41 PM
HI Ladies~

(((((Ellen)))))~My heart goes out to your son and his girlfriend.

Marti~a very HAPPY BIRTHDAY TO MISS JHANAI!!!! :hat: :hb: :gift: :woo:

Angie~a 5 minute shower?!!! Yikes!!! I've taken some fast showers before but never in 5 mns. And no laundry?! Well, that would be nice...until I had to find something to wear. The movie was okay, not as funny as I thought it would be but there were funny parts. What fun to be celebrating so many special days in one event/party! Don't get stressed over it though.

Katy~hope the guys loved the Spruce Goose. We got pictures of it when they were moving it from storage to the location in Long Beach years ago. Also went to see it when it was finally ready, pretty cool museum-the one in Long Beach. Plus it was by the Queen Mary which I always loved going on.

Jane~as soon as I get the pictures developed I will post one of my new do. Meant to take a pic when I first had it done because she fixed it different, not how I wanted, but it looked nice.

Sue~that is sooo cute...about the little guy. I miss the times when the kids played, so much fun. Even now once in a while V and I will go catch some little guys playing, they are so funny and so cute! I too have been wanting a smooth serface stove and a refridge with the freezer at the bottom. Just right now the house came with new appliances (except for the fridge, which we bought about 3 years ago) and even though DH wanted to get them when we moved here, we really didn't need them. I have seen a fridge though that is a side by side on the top with the freezer on the bottom-that would be great. Has the water and ice on the door which is something we need to keep everyone from opening and closing the freezer so much.

Anita~that is considerate of you hubby, but what crossed my mind at first was, why he had money saved that you didn't know about! LOL Anyway, I thought about going to a weight loss clinic here but decided against it because it is a liquid diet. I would love to lose the weight fast, but they say that the faster you lose the weight the more likely you are to gain it back. And I wouldn't be able to live on a liquid diet forever.

Terri~a swimming pool sounds like a lot of fun!

Well, Hi to everyone else

I really need to get going and get outside to work on the deck before it gets too hot. Did finish the fence Sunday. I seem to be on a roll with this staining and am actually enjoying it, soooo....I am staining the lattice around the bottom of the deck and then will do the deck. Then we will put a second coat on the outside of the fence. I will have DS help me with that. Won't have to do it for 3 or 5 years-never did find out if it was 3 or 5, I'm hoping 5! :) But for some reason thinking 3, which is good. Told DH he will do it the next time. Anyway, take care ladies and have a good day!

06-21-2005, 12:55 PM

To answer your question. I actually do know about all his saved money. Jerry and I have always has separate bank accounts and one joint account. It just works better for us that way. He has always been more of a saver than me. I'm of the mind that $$$ is there for spending. Probably just as well, or we'd have no money at all.

Hi there everyone. Remember me? It's been ages I know. So much is going on. My life is going though some major changes. I stated dieting last Aug. I could barly walk, almost house bound. I was 49 but looked 59. I weighed almost 300lbs and my heath was awful. Now, 80lbs and look drasticaly differant so everyone says and I think so to. I'm even taking it a step further. I haven't worked for over twenty years but resently signed up to Voccational Rehab in my state for job training for eventually going back to work. I'm terrified and excited all at the same time. Lots of the credit goes to this web site. It helped me get started and keep me on track . Now, at 50 yrs of age, I'm starting a brand new life and the world is full of possibilities. Thank you one and all.
Ellen, lost your email address. WAAAAA!

06-21-2005, 04:56 PM
Back again toooo hot outside and I am almost out of stain. V is getting another can tonight.

Ellen~again, (((((HUGS))))) to you all. It is a horrible thing to go through and my heart goes out to you all. You come back when you feel up to it, just remember we are here for you. :grouphug:

Anita~hope that didn't come out the wrong way. :foot: I do see and understand about the accounts. When V and I first married we had separate accounts till about 3 years ago. As hard as it was I finally just took the plunge and merged to the same account. I wish you much success in your weight loss and I do think that was a sweet thing of your hubby to offer.

Pam~they say that when a person loses a lot of weight it changes them and I definitely could see that happening. How can it not? I am so very happy for you!! I can tell from your post you are very happy & excited! Best wishes to you in/on your new journey!

Well, gotta go and look up a few things while I have some computer time. Hadn't been on the computer since Saturday morning till I checked in this morning-had some catching up to do with my e-mails. Whatever did we do before e-mail and the internet? :p

Have a good one ladies

06-21-2005, 05:34 PM

oh no hun!!!! there was no offence taken whatsoever. most think outr financial arrangements are a little weird considering we have been together for 16 1/2 years (married for almost 4) lots of people ask why we don't just pool all our moneh\y. i do all the banking anyway, so there really is no point.

06-21-2005, 10:03 PM
Good evening ladies,

Anita - Neal and I have 3 accounts - his, mine, and ours. That way we don't have to worry about forgetting to tell each other about checks written. Whatever works for a couple, just do it, lol.

Cristi - noticed your ticker is back and going downward almost to Onederland!! YAY for you!!

Pam - well of course I remember you, hon! And I know what you mean about being 50 and feeling brand new, lol. I love the new me, even if I am still too fat, lol.

Ellen - (((HUGS))) to you, your son and his girlfriend. You're all in my prayers.

Well, ladies, I've got a NSV to report. Today I took Makenzie to the Dairy Queen to celebrate her pooping in the potty. I planned ahead for the points of a DQ sandwich, which is 4.5. Makenzie wanted the small Oreo blizzard, and only ate maybe 1/4 of it, and said she was full. As much as I love DQ ice cream blizzards, I threw it in the trash w/o so much as a taste.

Maintenance is as hard as losing, but it's doable! If you want to do it, you'll find a way, and if you don't, you'll find an excuse. I read that on one of the other mods signature, and thought, How true!!

I recieved a PM supporting the idea of changing the name of our daily thread to Weight Loss and Chit Chat... sounds good to me! It's important that we remember why we signed on with 3FCs in the first place, right ladies?

Hope you're having a great day - talk to you tomorrow!

06-21-2005, 11:01 PM
Hello ladies...

Was another gorgeous day here.... spent a lot of it in the pool. I figure i am getting a lot more excercise in there anyway! I even bought a bikini.. I even put a pic of the car there.. i will be adding more.. i was just testing it for now..

WEll.. i am not getting anywhere with the weightloss.. I have come to a dead-end. I am tired all the time and cant seem to get the energy to get out and moving.. I am trying to at least eat well.. but it seems that everyone is always shoveling food at me and i am too weak to say no... WAH wah.. i know.. but i am just really discouraged today and i had an episode with a family member this week-end calling me fat and i just feel horrible. I cried all night saturday night and all day sunday.. it was horrible.. i have never heard someone be so mean! Ok well i am not going into it anymore because i dont want to be crying all night again. I am off to have a nice bath.. TTFN.. xxoo thanx for listening.

06-21-2005, 11:24 PM
Welcome back Pam! It was nice to read your post. It brought back memories of when I lost weight and how excited I was.....and scared of a new life ahead.

Who would have thought?? lol Bring me the Ding Dongs!! I am joking *sigh* being overweight was miserable. I agree with Jane maintaining is just as hard.

I weighed in at 153 this morning and I am starting to think my body likes being 150/155. Goodness knows I have been stuck there for awhile. lol

HAPPY BIRTHDAY TO Jhanai :woo: :wizard: :balloons: :gift:

Staining sounds like fun Cristi. I wish I could do that. I wish I had a yard. I have a sunflower that I need to replant. It is Gaby's that her babysitter had the kids do, so cute. Gaby points to it and says "mine" and says that it makes her happy. lol.
She went to the museum this morning and they have a Foto booth , so we did that. Got some cute pictures.

I better go. Nothing new here. I envy you all that have such normal

Jane,,,YAY for MaKenzie for her potty pooping... and for Grandma not eating the left overs...your a stronger woman then me...I would of gobbled it all up. I am at this point hoping for a hysterictomy (sp) Ive done the D&C and the step is taking it all out.

Anita Monte and I had everything seperate for about 10 yrs and then we merged everything and its so much easier for me to do,,,I do all the banking.

Pam,,,you must feel like a totally new woman....and you are.

Well we opened a companion account for savings,,,we are going to Disneyland in August. I had been saving coins and had over a $1000. was heavy carrying it into the bank. I put into my big canvas pink purse,,,Monte wouldn't carry it in...*sigh

Tomorrow Monte and I need to a major Costco shop...
well Im wiped out and am ready for bed...night all

06-22-2005, 05:02 AM
Hello everyone!

Thank you all for the Birthday Wishes for Jhanai. I will be sure to tell her since I've already put her to bed for the night. I have her one more night and then she goes home. So nice to have the extra time w/her this summer!

Angie--I got the book in the mail today! Thank you. I will get to it as soon as I'm done w/the book I'm working on now. (who is wanting it next?) As for the rolled coins....OMGosh! How many could that have been being $1000 worth? I don't blame Monte for not wanting to carry it...especially in the pink purse! :D

Susan--How is everything going? I'm glad to hear that you got the order against that man. Must be a huge weight off your shoulders.

Terri--Adorable kids you have! And very nice car! I know all about your feeling of weightloss....I'm feeling the same. I haven't weighed myself in months it seems and I'm not ready to! Might be an embarrassment if I do! :o But I have been thinking of things that need to be done. Going to work on it hard.

Jane--What a wonderful NSV!! So proud of you. I can imagine that maintenance being difficult. Now to get to where I want to be so I can maintain. I don't necessarily feel like I look overweight, more like my body is becoming jello and it's in dire need of some toning.

Anita--I hope the diet program you go on works well for you. Keep us posted on how you're doing. I think it will help motivate me and maybe some others to see your success as you go. I love to hear the good news of weightloss from others. So inspiring.

Cristi--Your home is going to be absolutely gorgeous when your all finished. I love the looks of stain instead of paint for some things around the house. Just gives it a whole different look.

Ellen--Sending more hugs your way! (((((HUGS)))))) is my plan. I've been talking to James about smoking. I'm VERY tired of being tired and having absolutely no energy. My schedule may have some to do w/that, but I know smoking is a HUGE thing. I also want to work out more. And smoking and getting in shape don't necessarily mix. So I'm going to attempt to work on not smoking. I don't want to say I'm for sure doing it...then turn around and cave in. I would look like some kind of A$$ if I did. But I do promise myself to try harder this time.

Also, been trying out some new yoga moves w/James supervision (he used to do them all the time) and boy let me tell you how much I feel when I do these moves. If I just got on the gazelle...did 20min. on that, did some yoga and ate better...I think I would be able to see a diffence in my muscle tone. I hate how gravity is taking over. All going south on me. :dizzy:

I have been cutting my portions and drinking more water. It seems to be doing ok for me. But I'm truly feeling the ick in me and want to make some changes. I said at the begining of this year that this was the year to reach my goal...well darn's already 6mos. in and I haven't accomplished much. Still have 6mos to go......I'm determine to make a dent somewhere in my weight or measurements.

Well, I've rambling on long enough.

must get to bed and snuggle w/my husband!!!

Hugs to all!

06-22-2005, 11:45 AM
Good mornin', ladies...

Ellen, very sorry to hear about the baby (((hugs))) You know that you and your family are in our thoughts and prayers.

Susan -- glad you filed your restraining order. Mike does not sound like he is stable or safe at all. How does this affect the visitation order? Does the restraining order cover both you and Gaby?

Anita, that diet program sounds really tough, but if it's worked for you in the past, and you have a positive attitude about it, then go for it! I know myself well enough that I wouldn't do well on that kind of program because the stricter I try to be, the more likely I am to just fall off the wagon totally. Ah, I rebel against all authority -- even myself! WW has done it for me in the past, and has the freedom I need, but I just can't seem to get motivated this time. **sigh**

Angie, loved the pics -- and it really was a cute pic of you, everyone here likes it, you know! :D I had a hysterectomy about 6-7 years ago. I wasn't having TOM that lasted as long as yours, but about 10 days a month, and had to stay home with my feet up because I would go thru heavy duty pads, I was having to take Darvocet for the pain, etc. My ovaries were in good shape, so the doc was able to save those, and I don't have to take hormones. Surgery is certainly no fun, I'm a big chicken when it comes to hospitals, but I feel so much better now, and I got my life back.

Jane, yay for your NSV! That's a big downfall for moms/grandmas, the temptation to finish off other's goodies, and not to let things go to waste. Often at restaurants I used to eat too much because the darn servings were too big and "I paid for it, I'm not going to waste it!" So now, I will often ask for a take home box right away to put half of my meal in to save for lunch the next day. I've been meaning to ask you...did you struggle with any plateaus when you lost your weight? That was my biggest problem when I've done WW before -- I've lost a significant amount of weight on WW three times, but each time the same thing happened -- I hit a plateau, it lasted like a month, I got discouraged and quit going, thinking, "I can do this by myself", and then gradually gained it all back.

Cristi, glad you like your new haircut. :) I keep thinking about cutting mine but it's such a security blanket...

Marti, Happy Belated Birthday to Jhanai! :hb: :gift: :woo: There is a Build a Bear place in Downtown Disney (the shopping center right next to Disneyland) and I almost went there on our last trip. What kind of bear did she end up with? Yoga is a great exercise, toning and makes you flexible -- and helps mellow you out, too! And I will send good vibes for you on the smoking thing :goodvibes My husband quit a few years ago, and it was so hard, but I am so proud of him. And so happy, because I'd sure like to keep him around for a while, you know?

Pam, how exciting -- good for you! Did you use a particular program, or what was most helpful for you? Keep us posted on the job training thing...what are you working toward?

Terri, thanks for sharing your pics...your kids are adorable :) I'm right there with ya on the weightloss thing. Depressed, tired, feeling too worn out and stressed from work to want to exercise, eating junk from the vending machine when I feel's a really bad cycle, and I need to get out of it. I fortunately haven't been gaining, but I sure haven't been losing either. I'm just...stuck, it seems. The only time I feel energy is when I'm on vacation. When we went to Disneyland last time, we walked 11-15 miles A DAY -- yeah, that was extreme and my feet hurt, but I felt great and was ready to get up and do it again the very next day.

Ah, it's that to the saltmines.

Hello  to anyone I missed...

06-22-2005, 03:00 PM
Hi ladies,

Terri - I haven't checked out your pictures yet, but I will. So sorry about your insensitive family member. Takes all kinds, doesn't it? When people "shovel" food at you, just push it right back and say, No thank you!!

Susan - at your height, 150-155 would be a good weight, wouldn't it? Maybe your body knows best! I love sunflowers, too. We have lots of them around here, and now when I see them, I'll think of our little Gabster.

Angie - oic about the hysterecomy. Do you think your ovaries are good enough to keep? Like Katy said, you could do w/o harmones if you keep them. Although lots of women w/o ovaries don't take harmones anyway. YAY for Disneyland!! When should I have my bags packed to join you? I've got a quarter jar that I can bring, lol.

Marti - just keep telling yourself "I'm not a smoker". And eat lots of fruit to help with the nicotine withdrawal. The first 3 days are the worst. If you can get past that, you should do ok. Yep, the year is half over! Time flies, right?

Katy - I was lucky that I never hit a plateau while losing. Keep in mind, though, that I never actually reached my goal. Had I gotten smaller, my body may have rebelled. But I truly stayed POP the whole time, and I think that was a huge factor. Probably the biggest reason for not stalling. Speaking of restaurants, I adopted the attitude that it would be more wasteful for me to eat the extra food or to bring it home as a temptation, so I would take the lid off of the salt shaker and douse the extra portion with salt. Then it was no longer an issue, lol.

So glad everyone is talking about health issues and losing weight again! Keeps our reason for coming here in the first place in focus, right?

Well, Katie and her best friend are going to Chicago to a Redwalls concert Friday. They've dubbed this event "Katie and Kayla's Excellent Adventure" lol. I have to say I'm a little worried, since they both are fairly unsophisticated country girls, but have put my faith in God to get them there and back home safely. I would have loved to have done something like that when I was 18.

I've got a sinus headache that is driving me crazy, so I best get. Have a good one, ladies!

06-22-2005, 04:47 PM
Good afternoon ladies~

Jane~I think the Weight Loss & Chit Chat thread name/idea is a great one! I for one haven't forgotten why I first joined this site and actually missed that we hardly talk about weight loss here-may be just what I need to get going. My ticker has been up there for a while, and stuck at that weight also! I lose just a little bit and then get stuck for what seems like the longest time and that's when I usually get frustrated and quit. Well, I have to say I haven't actually ever quit entirely, just kind of put it on the back burner. :bravo: on the NSV!!

Terri~hmmmm, I saw pictures of your adorable babies, your cute little kitties, and your pretty car but...where was Terri? LOL Thanks for sharing the pics-they really are nice. I am sorry to hear about the family member making you feel bad, (((((HUGS))))). Know exactly how you feel about the weight, I am feeling the same. I get stuck and get so frustrated.

Susan~Gaby is such a when I see sunflowers I will not only think of you, but you and Gaby. I too love sunflowers. Have a few in my kitchen still but not as many as before and my plates have sunflowers on them. Would like to get some new ones though. I do enjoy staining and can't believe that I did the majority of the fence! DS helped on the outside.

Marti~I too like the look of stain-shows the grain of the wood which looks nice.

Angie~jeez louise! $1000 in coins?! And you carried them into the bank?!!! I think it would have literally pulled my arms off! Isn't it amazing though how it adds up? I need to rob my piggy bank and get that stuff to the bank. I have a big fat pink piggy bank full of silver coins and then a big jar of pennies and I don't feel like counting them. Luckily the bank will do that for me. I know you guys are going to have a FUN time at Disneyland!

Katiecat~know what ya mean about your hair being a security blanket. Last year I had a hard time cutting my hair. It was passed my shoulders and I kept going back and forth on whether to do it or not. Of course I did it and then regretted doing it! Still regret doing it. But it did nothing for my face. I always look better with some layers around the face so took the plunge and did it last week after having it straight for who knows how long. It does feel better too.

Hi to everyone else.

Well, did the wally world thing this morning. Couldn't get up and going for some reason. To top it off, woke up with a headache that just won't seem to go away. Anyway, love when the store is quiet and not a lot of people/kids running around. There was a woman in there getting a couple of things with about 10 kids-yikes! But it surprised me that she had them in a line and they stayed there. When she walked away they were still in line following her. Don't see that often, the kids listening or that many kids. Also, had to take a couple of things back to Penneys. This time I decided to try the things on so I wouldn't have to take anything else back. Now I am trying to get caught up on my laundry and must do my toenails. I have been putting off polishing them and I really don't like wearing thongs/sandals without pretty polished toenails. :D Didn't get any staining done today. Decided to take a break because I had other things to do and it is a HOT one today! Supposed to get up to 97 and believe me I think it was near that this morning when I went to Wal-Mart. Guess I best get going. Need to go check on a couple of things before getting off the 'puter.

Take care ladies and have a wonderful day!

06-22-2005, 07:06 PM
Hello ladies!!

Katie--So glad to hear from you! Jhanai ended up getting a dog. A pug type dog. She had me say "I love you" for the personal message instead of getting an already made sound. As for yoga...I think it can really help me get back into shape. I love pilates too, so I want to incorporate that in to my weekly exercise too. I want to be able to be more flexible and limber, I think it will make me feel younger! :D

Jane--I'm going to do my darndest to get over the bad habit. I may get a real good start this weekend. I WILL be smoke free by the end of the year!! James' says that they can no longer smoke on the UP yards by the end of this month...that will help us both. (boy.....I hope I have the willpower!)

Cristi--That's what I like about stain. Seeing all the grains of the wood! I would like to stain my front porch. Someday maybe. I need to paint my toenails too! I think the same thing about summer and flipflops (Jhanai would kill me if I call them thongs! )and having pretty toenails to look at!

Today has been a great day for eating wise. Been really careful w/the portion sizes. And I've been drinking tons more water. I haven't been exercising yet, but Jhanai & I have been running around and plan on going back to town here as soon as I'm done.

later on tonight I will get on my gazelle!

Ok ladies...I will check in later on tonight.

Until then!

06-23-2005, 12:36 AM
Ang- I can understand a penny jar but curious where you had all these pennies?? lol

I need to go get Gaby. I dropped her off last night with the girls. I MISS her!!

I was up early today. I had a coffee and bagel w/ cream cheese for breakfast and another bagel w/ ham for lunch , a bag of popcorn for dinner w/ a Sprite.

Pretty good , huh?? lol

I don't think I drank any wadder.......what do you think Ma Jane?

Lawyer visit went ok. If I squint my eyes while looking at him I can almost see myself dating him. NOT........

Though he has a cute kitty and I think a Chow doggie, very cute.

Restraining order had to get transfered down there to that county so the judge could modify the visitation. Something like confusing.

The clerk said the restraining order doesn't stop visitation but my lawyer says it does. I am going with my lawyer on this on.

better get!!

Good evening ladies,

Susan, I hope the lawyer is right...fingers crossed.

Cristi, now that my hair is past my shoulders and I can do the updoes,,,I had one hot day and was thinking of getting it I just need it thinned out,,,if I let it dry naturally i have a fro...

Good Evening ladies--

Did a lot of moving around today.....should really get on that gazelle, but I'm going to save it for my morning exercises. (TERRIBLE aren't I???? :dizzy: )

Susan--I would go w/what the cute lawyers says too! :D What does a clerk know anyway?? I mean "COME ON PEOPLE!! TWO...not just one...but TWO restraining orders! That's got to be a huge RED flag!!" Or are they just blind? Always thinking of you and Gaby!

Angie--I hope you've got your foot in some water at this moment giving it a soak! Sounds painful!! There is this girl at work who just had surgery on her arm....carpel tunnel surgery. Now, she is so trying to get attention from it! It's funny to watch. She walks around w/this look on her face and her arm held up remind people she had surgery. And she loves to talk about it. Some people are just funny like that.

Hello to the rest of the girls.

Jhanai went home tonight. I called her up when I got back home and told her the house is sad and lonely w/out her. She told me she was sorry and that whenever we get a chance to go back up to Portland to the "Make A Bear" she'll make one for me for when she's gone! I just love that girl!!

Well....going to browse a little bit and then clean up my house. Been needing to sweep up the floors. Don't want to spend too much time cleaning while Jhanai's over.

Talk to you gals tomorrow.

Good morning, ladies,

Cristi - I've been taking advantage of Penney's sales, too. Don't you just hate how sizes vary so much? There ought to be a law that a certain size is x number of inches, or something. I have about 3 sizes in my closet and the clothes are all the same in width!

Marti - aww, it's so sweet that she wanted you to say "I love you" for the bear she kept. Now you'll have to do one where she says it to you. Glad you got to spend some extra time with her. And you're right - housecleaning can wait.

Susan - Sprite is not a good fluid replenisher, toots, and you know it, lol. Nothing wrong with having some pop, though, as long as you get your wadder in, too. So chug-a-lug, sweetie! I'd be curious to hear what the judge thinks about Mike's situation.

Angie - I like to pull my hair back, too, in this hot weather. That's the only reason I'm leaving it longer since it's so much easier to take care of. So I guess they'll leave you the one ovary? Is the surgery scheduled yet? Let me know as soon as you know something, ok?

Well, ladies, I rearranged the living room furniture by myself yesterday to make room for the Gazelle once again. The couch is heavy as #$%^, but I got-r-done, lol. Then I managed to get the Gazelle carted up to the house by using my garden cart to help manuever it. Lol, what a sight! By the time I was done with all that, I only had enough strengh to use the thing 15 minutes, lol, and was darn proud of that!!

Need to do my shopping today. I'll be back later if I have the time.

Thank you all for the compliments. I thought i would post a pic of my car since i have talking about it all the time lol. We live way out in the country right now.. and i am trying to talk hubby into moving to town. That way i can go to the gym... walk the boardwalk..(that is how i lost all my weight when Nolan was a baby). Just be around more supportive people.. because it seems the poeple around me now are insensitive jerks!(sad thing is they are all family). But my dads side of the family live in town.. including my only living grandparent(grandma) and my dads 8 sisters and endless cousins ect. who all have weight problems.. so i know i could always find a walking partner..they are way more supportive because they understand.. and quite a few have lost a lot of weight and kept it off! OK i was going to do individuals.. but the baby wants me.. try to get back later.. ttfn xxoo

Good morning ladies~

Since it is so cold in the basement I am going to walk on the treadmill today. I know I won't do more than 20 mns. but it's a start-again! It's about 5-10 degrees cooler down here but while down here I literally freeze. Have to stop and go upstairs to warm up and then come back down. Anyway, also bought me a jug for water. One like I think it was Anita ?? bought at Wal-Mart, but got it at Walgreens this morning. Was curious if anyone has heard or tried the green tea gum. I saw a commercial for it and it said it is the same as drinking the green tea. Trying to get the yard watered really good since it is going to be another hot one. Can't wait to put in sprinklers in the front like we should have done to begin with. It will tear the yard up a bit but it will grow back and save me a LOT of time with the sprinkler, not too mention money on the water bill.

Marti~Jhanai is such a sweetie! And I have faith that you will quit smoking. Need to get my son to quit.

Susan~that is just the dumbest thing I have ever heard and I would go by what the lawyer said also. I know the clerk probably deals with a lot of issues and such, but who in their right mind would let a man have visitation with a little girl with having two restraints against him? MMmmmm, popcorn...I haven't had popcorn in a while. Last time me and DD went to the show I smuggled in my own. :sssh: A lot less calories and minus the fat.

Angie~the girl that cut my hair wanted to cut only about an inch but I wanted it shorter so she cut 2 inches. I really wanted it shorter than that but glad that I let her do just the 2 inches. I still have enough to pull back with just a few strips left on the sides. Know all too well about using the maxi pads. For two days of TOM I will go through about 24-36 and sometimes the cramping is horrible. The doc wanted to put me on birth control-she said it would help with TOM. Haven't had one this month so far :crossed: so guess it is going to get wacky again. Missing a few I can totally handle but then sometimes when it starts again they are bad.

Jane~I do love Penneys sales! I took back a bra, a pair of crop pants and a shirt that were too big and ended up with two pair of crop pants, three shirts and two bras! LOL this time I took the time to try them on so I wouldn't have to make a trip back to exchange more stuff. And yes I hate that about the sizes. It gets crazy because the stuff I took back was the same size of the stuff I ended up with. I would have to say that you got a good workout with just rearranging the furniture. Would love to have a gazelle but really have no where to put one.

Terri~I think family are the worst sometimes. It's like they feel the need to be mean sometimes. It's not the size that matters anyway, it's the person you are, it's what's inside.

Well, I need to run upstairs and get warm, and move the sprinkler. I'll let it go another hour or so to get it good and soaked. Nothing much on the agenda for today. Need to straighten up the house and vacuum. Will probably do some staining but later in the evening when there is some shade in the back. That sun is killing me. Take care ladies and have a wonderful day!
