I have read on other posts some of you are using this instead of the take off juice. Can you tell me if your results were similar as to when you used the take off juice from LAWL? Thanks! :D

I've used the Knudsen's the last couple of times I've done take off and realize the same results (for 1/5 the price ;-)

Thanks! I do well when I do the take off juice, I usually go down 3-4 pounds & keep it off. I have heard you can do it every 2 weeks........but I have only done it 3x since I have been going to LAWL due to the cost. So I might give this a try! How often do you do the take off/morning blend?

I had only used it a couple of time since starting the program, but used it two weeks ago and lost about 3 lbs and plan to use it every other week until i get to goal (another 15lbs or so)

what is knudsen's morning juice?

Juice thats like the take OFF juice but you get it at the grocery store and it costs something like 3.88 or so, instead of 25 bucks... Here its at king soopers but not at all of them..

Do you dilute the juice with 4 oz. of water like you do the Take Off, or do you just drink 8 oz of the Knudsen's straight?

I've used the Knudsen's straight - it's not concentrated like the TO Juice. Not sure what others do. I'm waiting to see what AuditGirl writes as she has been so successful in her weightloss.

hi ladies.. this sounds interesting..where do you buy this juice. i have looked for it in my grocery store.. can't find it.

thank you

The juice is usually in the organic section at the grocery store. Knudens has a variety of juices, the "Simply Nutritious Morning Blend" is the closest to the TO juice.

I dilute it because if you compare calories, etc. it's very similar to the TO juice. However, it's not as THICK as the TO juice, so I usually do 1 oz. water for every 2 oz. juice. Just remember that you should only have 16 oz of juice, diluted however you like, per day, otherwise you're getting extra calories that will make for a slower loss.

I was told you can do TO every three weeks.

Hi everybody. I'm a super board lurker & this is my FIRST post... but I wanted to share something that my sister and I discovered... The "Hollywood 48 Hr. Miracle diet" juice that they sell on tv is the same juice that they sell at the centers. Walgreens sells it and marks it down pretty regularly for $9.99. Don't know if someone else ever posted this but thought it might be helpful for those like me who don't have the knudsens juice! :) I'm all about finding the cheaper alternatives to the big $$ products they sell!

Thanks for the info about the juice. But I have never done the TO since I started. It was Unlimited meats, Unlimited vegies, and 2 eggs per day. I see in the book (purple plan) they talk about it but I am confused. How much of what, and how many times a day on the food?

Thanks

I was the one who found the Knudsens juice as a replacement for you all a while back. If anyone is having a hard time finding it, look in the health food/vegetarian/organic section of your grocery store. If they do not have it, check around and see if you have a health food store or natural market in your area, they SHOULD carry it. At our store it is $2.99.

There really is no "magic" ingredients in theTake Off juice or Hollywood juice-so there is no need to spend $10 and over for either thing. All it is, is a concentrated juice blend that contains a touch of citrus oil (that can go by different names on the label). The blended juices and oil used for the blend tend to have a bit of a laxative effect for some. Combine a couple days of eating really low calorie with "cleaning you out" a bit  , and that is why you see a measureable scale loss when you do Take Off.

Does using the Knudsens juice instead of the Takeoff void the guarantee? I signed up for the plan that gives me money back if I make my goal by the goal date and keep it off through maintenance. I don't want to void the rebate by using unauthorized foods??

Thanks,
Kim

Don't tell them. Say you have a sister, or whatever that goes to a different center that had a leftover bottle of Take Off, or that you bought a bottle from someone who used to be on the plan off of Ebay. It's really none of their business.

Besides, you can choose to maybe get part of your money back for the making goal/maintenance thing, or you can keep from spending just about the same amount by substituting Knudsens for Take Off Juice, Luna Bars for LA Lites (especially if you can find certain flavors on clearance in the stores, or on Ebay for cheap) and basically finding a cheaper alternative to almost every single product that they try to sell you for half of the cost.
I am not on LAWL, and it isn't the "plan" itself that I have problems with. It is the overpriced products and supplements that have their name on the label, so they charge 3 times what comparable products are in regular stores.

Hi Kim...

I am going to do TO next week if the scale doesn't shift on Monday. I have the Knuden's and will just write it in as the LAWL TO juice and say I have a friend who met goal and gave me some.

SO Aphil...are you saying to dilute the Knudsen's just like the LAWL juice?

Thanks!

auditgirl
06-24-2005, 03:45 PM
Cathy,

I don't dilute the Knudsen's but drink a glass of water after. The Knudsen's isn't as thick at the TO from LAWL. I also agree with Aphil...tell them you got it from someone else...my center has never questioned me about doing take off, they assume I bought it from another counselor.

for those of you that don't know where to buy your juice... the website link below ... click on it and on the top of the page it says "where to buy" and plug in your zip code and it will tell you where you can get the juice. :D

You may be able to find Knudsens at places not listed there though. My local Kroger sells it, and the health food store in the next city over sells it as well-but neither place was listed under my zip code.

when you do the take off juice, you are still eating, correct?

EweWho
07-02-2005, 05:09 PM
I found lots of Knudsen's juices in the grocery stores here, but not the Morning Blend. I went to Wal-Mart and bought the Hollywood diet juice. It has on the label to dilute it with water, so that is what I did. After two days I weighed in and had lost only .8 of a pound. I don't know if that was because I had already been losing so quickly or what. I do know that from now on I will only use Take Off if I am not losing.

Yes, cablegirl, you still eat, but you choose from a different list, with limited amounts of proteins and vegetables and no starches or fruits.

thanks Regina, I thought you did the 2 or 3 day xpress, but I didn't know if there was a certain plan that you only drank and not ate...Thought I was missing something. I have been doing the apple juice (unsweetened) with water. How often do you do the Take of/juice? My papers say you can do it every tow weeks, but someone else said once a month... Also, how often do you guys weigh in? I did the 3 day xpress (with alcohol and my TOM) and lost 3.5 pounds, so I guess that is good. I figured I would weigh in once a week, unless I feel as if everyone else is doing it more often.
Thanks guys! Keep up the great work.

I am not planning on doing TakeOff again until I slow down with my loss or hit a stall. I only lost .8 after doing it, but I've lost 21 pounds the first month I've been on plan.

My book says you can do it every two weeks. I don't know of anything that has you only drink juice, but my book only has the TakeOff, not anything else like what you described.

Good luck!

Ok guys Im doing TO tomorrow but I got knudesons to try instead.. They wanted me to buy 2 and get one free at the center but I said screw it im sick of spending 50 bucks there at a shot all the time... so I got 3 bottles of the morning blend for 10.50 thats a huge difference I just hope it works.. :)

aphil

It WILL work. There is absolutely NOTHING special about the Take Off Juice at the center. There is absolutely NOTHING special about 48 Hour Hollywood Diet Juice, either. The reason you lose weight on the Take Off plan is because you go more low calorie than normal for 2-3 days, and part of your lower calorie plan is liquid...and a mixed blend of fruit juice to boot that has the tendency to "clean you out" a bit if you catch my drift. ;)

Yep I get it Aphil thanks!! I guess when I did TO before with theirs they told me to do it wrong anyway.. lol They had me eating too many veggies.. lol yeah some of them really know what their talking about

Ok so do we do 4oz or 8 oz of the juice then?? Thanks

Beth,

When i use the Knudsen's I drink the whole bottle over the two day period. I also eat unlimited green veggies and proteins, the last time I did it I included my LA Lites too. I typically wind up doing TO when I've had a bad girl weekend and want to flush out my system and get back on good eating habits. I've always lost the temporary weight I've gained, plus a little more.

Good luck,
Jen

This is a little off the path of this thread but I got the knudsen's juice and just started my second TO phase, I am on week 4 of a purple plan and just wanted a lift. Question- is acorn squash allowed for take off?

textjewel
07-06-2005, 07:22 PM
Hi Nann147! Actually, I think acorn squash is considered a winter squash, and should be used for TO - the idea is to use low -starch veggies. It's considered a starch in the regular program. (I love it too)

hello guys! I gained .5 pounds after doing well on the TO, I guess I am one of the unusual cases where I lose more weight during TOM. Hum, so I decided to do the 2 day diet...I have only been dieting for a weel now, (Of course my weekend was full of picnic's and alcohol). I'm not sure if the Gold plan is best for me, I don;t have any health problems, and want to lose about 45 pounds any suggestions? Thanks

Hey cablegirl!

Usually they put someone on gold if they are around 180-185 - does that fit you? Also, do you do shift work? If so, they'd recommend blue.

But gold is a good place to start! Do you have something to weigh your food? Portion size does make a difference, unfortunately.

Actually my start weight was 191.5, then after the 3 day I was at 188.5, so I guess pretty close. I started the 2 day plan yesterday and jumped on the scale this morning and lost 3, so I am down to 184.5. I have really been watching what I eat and trying to weigh everything. I work from my home, lucky me yes...but the food doesn't bother me. Maybe it was just because I just got of the TOM, and gained a little back. On Saturday I think I will try the blue, and see how that works for me. Thanks for the advice.

Cablegirl - lucky you if the food doesn't bother you! Wish I could say the same - well I can most days, but I have to get off to a good start.

Your doing this on your own? Forgive me for being out of the loop - I was away for about 3 weeks, and so I'm behind on some of our new chickies histories.

Also - are you doing the plan with or without lites? If w/o lites, then definately go for a higher plan - maybe purple. Karen/Metalchick did the plan without lites and she never dropped below purple.

I am doing it on my own, I am eating Luna bars instead of the lites. The blue plan isn't too different from the gold. so I will start that on Saturdya and see how it goes, I won't weigh in again after tomorrow until next Saturday. I am also taking Leptopril, just started yesterday. So that is helping me with the amount of food I am eating. Thanks guys!!! Let me know what you think about the plan.

Hi cablegirl and welcome to the sight!

I want to lose about 40 pounds myself, and am now on the purple plan. I started on red and they dropped me down when I broke the 200# mark. And no I am not using the Lites nor the Luna bars.

Hope that helps!

Cathy awesome, I have about 40 to go...tomorrow I'm gonna weigh in again, and start the blue plan, hopefully that will work for me. How much are you losing per month/week? I am so excited, my 8 yr old son is getting ready to set a new goal for me...He is helping me and keeps encouraging me to lose the weight....you guys are so motivating. So are you not eating any protein bars? What are you doing to replace them, anything?

Karen

Karen, I'll jump in here, and Cathy can correct me if I'm wrong --

What LAWL usually does if someone does not want to use the bars is to move them up to the next higher calorie/portion plan. So you basically get larger portions or more of them.

It's great that your son is getting involved, too -

Hope this helps!

Thanks Julie...You guys are helping so much! I started the blue plan today to see if that makes a difference. what do you guys do if you are not allowed Dairy? (I go to acupuncture and she doesn't recommend that I eat dairy.)...Thanks!!!

Cablegirl - that's a toughie - basically, most of the dairy portions are about 100 cals, so I'd find something to substitute at about that amount. Maybe another starch?

You might try posting this on the main thread and see if anyone else has any suggestions.

No dairy - not even cheese? Poor chickie!

Hello,
I was wondering if anyone has a bottle of the TO juice and could list the ingredients and nutrition facts, I would just like to compare it to the morning blend. I would like to see the difference in calories to see if I should water down the morning blend like we do with TO or drink as is.

Thanks for the help :D

My sister can only have limited amounts of acid in her diet and the TO juice was horrible for her...lots of pain. The center said you can subsitute 1/8 of a cantaloupe for every time juice is called for (meaning you spend $2 bucks for one cantaloupe over 2 days versus the price of the juice). I am doing TO for the first time now and lost 2 pounds this first day...I don't know if that is normal, but I was losing 2-3 lbs a week without doing takeoff. I just reached my 10 pound marker, so I'm pumped. I was 206 and I want to get down to 160 (but my target weight keeps dropping as I realize that I can actually do this plan).
