;) Hi All,
I am pretty new at this. I am a 19 year military wife stationed in Okinawa Japan. I was never overweight as a child. I gained weight as soon as I got married. Food has been a friend while my husband was out to see. I have made a decision to take care of me and make some changes in what I eat and my lack of exercise. I would love to hear from other military wives. ;)

Hi I am 21 yrs old Dh is in the Navy, still in school so I havent experienced deployments yet. I have a 3 year old daughter and a two week old son which is why I am on a healthier lifestyle journey now I weigh the most I have ever weighed and feel so lousy! I still have very low iron from having my son so my energy is extremely lacking right now but when I recover a bit more I plan on doing various excercise videos and following the Atkins nutritional approach I had great success with that a few years back so this time it will be forever though no turning back! I dont ever go by what the scales say because that can be so frustrating and misleading my goal is to be a fit and slim as I can be. My dh and my children and I are in south carolina until january then we are going to hopefully be in Alabama if Dh gets accepted into Officers school if not he will be staff here and we will be here for two or three more years, I love it here so I dont mind and I want him to be shore duty for as long as possible. If you dont mind my asking.. What rank is your hubby? is he on a sub or aircraft carrier? Right now Dh is e-4 petty officer he is a nuke and a sub volunteer. best wishes for success for your new healthy lifestyle!

Hey you must be in Charleston. We were in Beaufort for three yrs. Hubby is a AO E-7. We loved SC. We would have stayed but when hubby made cheif we had to move. We wanted to come here to Japan and we love it. My husband has been on carriers and gator freightors. Your hubby will explain. I would love to give support as a navy wife and a weight loss friend. The navy has been good to us. :cheer: remember you are worth it.

06-16-2005, 10:42 AM
Yes I love it here also, the support sounds great! how would you like to do it? we could do daily or weekly check-ins if that sounds good to you, we will say what we ate for the day and what exercise (if any) we did for the day or if you have any other suggest. Im open to anything just gotta get this weight off for good!

I think that sounds great. I bought a cd player and music and I am heading for the gym after dinner. Remember we are 13 hrs ahead. I took ff sour cream and 98% fat free cream of mushroom and cooked chicken in it and i am having japanese rice. My hubby is doing this too, which is nice. I had an eggsalad sandwhich for breakfast and a chicken sandwhich for lunch. I am trying new recipes almost everynight. Hope you had a great day, stay strong and remember what it feels like to be fit. ;)

Hello ladies!
Just poking my head in to say good luck on your weight loss journey and how proud I am of our military families! Anytime you'd like to come by and say hello, feel free to stop at "Slimming Royals to Solstice"....

06-17-2005, 11:50 AM
I figured I would stop in and say heya! My dh is an E5 in the Navy and currently on shore duty. He is in a locked rate tho "GSM" and it talking to the NCO about the blue to green program for transferring to the Army. I know they if he gets what he wants, he'll be shipped off to Iraq but I still support whatever he wants to do.

We have 2 boys, 5 & 1 1/2 and are currently in FL.

06-17-2005, 11:52 AM
;) Hi All,

Ya'll made me and hubby laugh so hard. I said baby you wish I was 19. ;) I married him when I was 18 and I am 37. August 2 will be 19.
Kaylets thank you for the support.Fl_ mom, welcome. We were in Jax twice. It was hot there. We are from Ga. so I should have been used to it.Where are you in Fl?
We went sight seeing today and I am so proud :cp: of me. When we are out it is hard to find good food to eat that I like. We went to a restaurant on base and I had a grilled chicken sandwich. I had a LC spaghetti dinner. I am off to the gym again tonight. I am so sore today. I will skip on Sunday. It is still raining here.
Talk to ya lighter later :flow2:

06-18-2005, 02:14 PM
My dh was 17 (I was 20) when we got married. Our 7yr anniversary is August 8 and it doesn't seem like it's been that long.

We are in Jax/Mayport. We used to live on base but decided we didn't need the drama associated with it. Before this we were in Everett, Wa and we left there because we hated the weather. I miss the area now though, especially seeing the mountains from my living room window.

We are going to either try and stay here or if DH moves to the army, we will request Kentucky (we are both from ohio). DH keeps saying he wants to live here in FL when he gets out of the military but when he found out we might be able to go to Kentucky, I saw him trying to hide his excitement. I know we'll never live overseas, with DH's job we will never have to and he doesn't want to go.

I am making low carb beef stroganoff for my dinner, spaghetti squash instead of noodles.

Tell all the hubby's happy father's day. :woo: Well it is already sunday for us. I am not exercising today. 6 days a week is plenty. Tomorrow is weigh in day. :cb:
I can't wait till I have lost about 30. I think that is when you can really tell.
fl_mom we lived on base in jax so I know what you mean. After 19 yrs I have learned to be picky in whom I spend my time with. My sister in-law just bought a house there and her hubby retired from the navy. They were stationed there before and they decided to come back and retire. She said jobs are hard to find and they hate it there. I told her to give it two yrs. When we were younger we swore we would never go overseas. When the boys were young our mothers would have been so upset if we would have taken the kids overseas. We asked to come here. One for the money and two for the experience. We love it. The boys love it. Now my friend is in Italy and she hates it. Everyone who had been here before told us they loved it. I now know why. :dancer:

Weigh in day and I am down 6pds. I can't believe it. I could do this forever. No dieting. :bravo:  :balloons:

06-20-2005, 08:39 AM
6lbs, woo hoo! I am down 3 lbs but that was just weight I put on over a few days so I am back down to my ticker weight LOL I have been cheating and I am not proud of it but I am motivated to stay with the south beach diet since I have been seeing results.

I can tell that I have lost weight but I don't think that anyone else can. I can't tell when I look in the mirror yet but I notice the differece when I put on certain clothes. I am down at least 1 size, maybe 2 but I don't know. I was wearing a size 18 in jeans and a few weeks ago I was wearing a 16. Only 1 pair of my 16's fit me though so I will have to try some more clothes on to see if there is anything else I can wear that I couldn't before.

mom2nicolenmatthew - how are you doing? The kids are probably keeping you busy with not enough sleep lol Believe it or not, I miss those days.

Hey StacyLeigh,
We just moved here from Virginia beach. My hubby was on the Saipan. I don't miss it. It was a long drive home. Where are you from?
I haven't had any experience with the surgery but there are threads that talk about it a lot. I am so glad that tricare is paying for it. It is about time. :)

06-22-2005, 09:58 AM
Welcome Stacey.

I didn't know TriCare paid for gastric bypass. I am looking into plastic surgery so that when I am done having kids and done losing weight, I can finally get rid of my excess skin. I wish they'd pay for that but oh well, can't have everything.

06-22-2005, 12:45 PM
Hi again..
I am from CT. But i met my husband while in Hawaii :) We lived there for 7 years and then went to California and now here to Virginia where we will stay until he retires. We have been here for 6 years and will be here for another 5 or so.
And yes the military does so the bypass. They do it Lap style now too which is so much less traumatic! Also I was told that here in Portsmouth the plastic sergery clinic is opening up to us to remove the excess skin, where when I first got on the list they were not offering it. So I am pretty happy about that. I am worried that my boobs are going to look like deflated pancakes. I went from a full C to a very full DDD! Ugh can you imagine!
I am so glad I found this web site. So many nice people!!

06-22-2005, 01:16 PM
I sooo understand the boob thing LOL I will have to ask the doc at the hospital here about the plastic surgery. The last time I saw a doc was to get a referrel to the infertility clinic and that was months ago.

It must be exciting to get so close to your surgery. I saw a program on Discovery about it and the people changed so much, not just weight loss but self-esteem, etc..

Hey all,
Just checking in. Still going strong. Hope everyone is having a good week. I am looking forward to the weekend.

06-26-2005, 10:23 AM
Stopping in to say HI!! :D

06-26-2005, 11:28 AM
Hi everyone I have been busy busy with the kids and trying to find a good schedule that works for everyone. I have been staying true to this WOE and I still havent weighed but I have 12 days for my post part.appt and I will find out then! I know I am definetely losing inches because my very tight maternity jeans just slide right on, now I dont have to jump up and down to get the on lol so that has to mean something right?

How is everyone else doing?

06-26-2005, 11:28 AM
does anyone know if tri-care covers the cost of a vasectomy?

06-26-2005, 12:55 PM
Hello.. Yes Tri Care will conver a vasectomy as long as he has had atleast 2 children one of which is a boy. At least those were the rules last time we checked. The want the man to have a boy to carry on his name. I personally think it should be the individulas choice... but I guess they do not want any later regrets!
Hope you all are doing great! We are having awesome weather. Went to the beach Friday early evening and the kids had a blast, then yesterday we were swimming in the pool!! Hugs ladies.. See you soon!

06-26-2005, 08:30 PM
Hi all,
I am down three more pds and I am so excited. :flow2:
My hubby had a vasectomy back in 92 and the military did it. We did have two boys and he was 25 at the time. It was simple and he said he sat up and watched and he was fine the next day.
Hope all is doing well.

06-27-2005, 08:58 AM
My dh wants to get a V after we are done having kids.

My weight has stayed the same for a week but I splurged (not cheated) and ate a few things I shouldn't so I am just glad it didn't go up. I really think it helps to have something you don't normally eat about once a week. When I was doing WW, I didn't count points on saturdays and ate things I normally ate, lost more weight than counting points all week. Now that I am doing south beach and plan on doing it for life, I refuse to say "I can't have that" for forever. As long as I don't overdo it like I did this weekend and stick with healthier choices, I will be happy with myself.

06-27-2005, 11:01 AM
awesome we have a girl and now our boy so hopefully we we qualify! Only 10 days until I get to weigh for the first time in a month, so far I havent cheated and I have been running around with dd so I def. am getting exercise but I would love to go rollerblading, maybe one day when the kids are grown! :) anyways glad you all are losers lol you know what I mean. :) take care and keep on posting, I will do the same!

about the vasect. how long is recovery time usually?

06-27-2005, 10:54 PM
Hey everyone... I just found this group today.

I am prior active duty Air Force (got out in 1997) and my husband is a firefighter in the Air Force. We have been married for 8 years and have two daughters (BTW- my dh had a vas, and we only have two girls... I have never heard of such a rule, and I was a medic in the AF who assisted with vas's).

We are currently stationed at Whiteman AFB in Missouri. We came here from Kadena AB in Okinawa (1998-2002) and before that our first base was Beale AFB in California. We now have orders to Ramstein AB in Germany for December of this year (2005).

Nice to meet all of you!

06-27-2005, 11:21 PM
welcome candy!

06-27-2005, 11:50 PM
Welcome Candy. Glad to have you here. What type of WL program are you using? Give is all the details girl!! :) Looking forward to getting to know you better.

Hey all and welcome Candy ;)
Sounds like everyone is doing great. Candy we are stationed at Kadena. I live in Terrace heights. My husband is Navy at CfAO. We love it here. Have any advice on things to do here or places to eat healthy. I have been going to risner gym 6 nights a week. I love this gym. I am sorry you are not wanting to go to Germany. My two bestfrinds were stationed there and loved it. One of them is in Italy now and hates it. Hey if you ever get a chance to be stationed at Moody AF base in Valdosta Ga, that is where we are from and it is the best. The people are so nice and it has grown but you still have the small town effect.Like StacyLeigh said give us the details so we can support you. :cb:
I am trying to set a birthday goal for Oct. 25. What do ya'll think would be not to easy but not to hard?

06-28-2005, 11:38 AM
I am sorry you are not wanting to go to Germany.
What are you talkin' about girl? I am thrilled to be moving to Germany! lol... I love living overseas! The best years of our lives were in Okinawa!

Okay... Here is what I am doing. I am not following a specific plan. I have spent so many years trying different "diets" and "ways of life" to lose weight, but they have always failed... or I have always failed them. My husband was once a personal trainer and is now an avid health and nutrition nut, so I am just going to start eating the way he eats and exercising the way he does:

I have cut out virtually ALL sugar... I have cut out starchy carbs and bad fats, meaning I eat carbs only from veggies and whole grains and fats only from olive oil and things like avacado. I am aiming for a daily ratio of 30% fat, 30% protein, and 40% carbs... approx. 1400-1600 calories a day.

I am strength training with Kettlebells (Russian weight training system that my husband has been doing for years... he is acting as my personal trainer) and I am doing that 3x per week.
I am doing a cardio variety routine 3x a week that includes 10 minutes on the upright bike (followed by stretching), 10 minutes on the elliptical (this is the one I am trying to increase each visit, so next week I am hoping to reach 15 minutes on this bad boy), 10 minutes of brisk treadmill walking, and then a 10 minute cool down on the sit down bike followed by stretching. I am going to start replacing one or two of these sessions each week with Spinning, aerobics, and other cardio classes just to keep things different and interesting... I need constant change to stay interested. I learned that about myself over the past few attempts at wieght loss!
I also walk a mile each night (5-7 nights a week). It would be more, but I bring my kiddos along and a mile takes us about 40 minutes!
I am also in a dance class for an hour each Saturday. We work on abs, stretching, and then ballet moves, jumps, etc.

That is about it! ;)

Sorry about that Candy, I can't read when it's early in the morning. ;) When I saw misery ,well lets just say I read it wrong. :dizzy: I am so glad to hear that you are doing a life style change and not a diet. I am doing a life style change. I went to the doc a few weeks ago and my bloodpressure was sky high and my sugar was high and she started talking about more meds and a light bulb went off. I decided no! I am gonna take the weight off. I am going to the gym 6 days a week and I need a personal trainer but I haven't asked yet. With the plan you have ,you will be successful. :cp:

06-28-2005, 10:01 PM
That is like me Vicki. My blood pressure was 145/90!!! Plus, my cholesterol was high... and I am only 29 years old!!!! ugh.

Thanks for the support girls!

Vicki in Okinawa
06-29-2005, 09:32 PM
Candy, My blood pressure was alittle higher. I have been on Maxide since my 20's. Now I am 37 and she wants to add medicines. She is giving me six weeks to get some weight off or add meds. They have side effects. I promised myself that I would get fit before I turn 40. I will be 38 in Oct, so I have two years to make this happen. Candy, In my 20's I thought I felt my weight. Little did I know that I would really start to feel it. It slows you down,my knees were hurting, i would get tired just from going to the store. For the first time in my life I started having a sugar problem. My boys are now 13 and 16 and I don't think they will marry early and I think they may not have children till they are 30. How would I get to enjoy my grandchildren?
All this meant nothing in my 20's but now it has become a health issue. Of course I want to look good too. ;)

06-29-2005, 10:19 PM
We have the same weight goal! That is groovy because we can lose it together! You are lucky though... You get to lay on the beach, go to REAL Japanese restaurants, and visit really cool castles!

I am so excited to move to Germany, but I would trade it for Okinawa in a heartbeat! I really loved it there and I have dreams about moving back and settling down there.

Vicki in Okinawa
06-30-2005, 10:01 AM
Hey all,
Hey Candy :cp: I checked out your fitday, you are doing so good. I thought I would never say this but I love going to the gym. :tread: :ebike: :cb:
I am starting to think about how I am getting through this weekend. We are going to a picnic at whitebeach.
We have thought about staying here. My hubby wants to take a GS job and stay. I am so ready to stay for 5 to 10 yrs.
How tall are you? I was in a 20 pants and now the 18's fall off and 16's are alittle snug. I bought a TH 14 pair of jean shorts and I got them up but not buttoned. First goal!! maybe a month or two till they will fit. I think I am gonna set a goal for The middle of Oct because we have the navy ball to go to. I love your goal because it is so hard to travel when I am heavy.
Stay strong this weekend and I will be here if you need me.

06-30-2005, 11:58 AM
I am 5'5"... I wear a size 18-20 right now, but most of my 18's are too tight. I carry ALL of my weight around my middle and upper body. My legs are not as big as they should be, but my belly... oooohhh, my belly! It is just icky! My belly probably will not be flat until I reach my end goal of 135... even then, I may need a tummy tuck because I have stretch marks from top to bottom!

If you need ideas for meals on the go, you might want to try the Ready-to-Drink Myoplex Light's by EAS. That is what I use... only 1 gram of sugar and just the right amounts of carbs and protein. Just keep them in the refrigerator until you are ready to use them. If you know you will be using one, put it in the freezer a couple hours ahead of time and it will stay cold longer. In Okinawa, I think you can find them at the Foster GNC store or even the BX/PX on Kadena or Foster. You also might be able to order them online and have them shipped.

Have a great weekend everyone!

I am 5'4 and my weight is also up top. I have tiny legs which makes people always tell me "you are not supposed to be fat". I have started losing in my legs, butt and chest. My stomach will be the last to go. It has gone down a tiny bit. Our weight is worse than those who have weight on the bottom. Ours is hurting our heart and causing high blood pressure.
I have been hungry today. Friday is almost over for me and I am going to bed soon. We bought a large George Foreman grill today. It is to hot to grill outside. So, What are ya'll doing for the fourth? How old are your girls?

07-01-2005, 10:40 AM
Welcome Candy!

I am Angela, 27 yo Blonde 5'4, wanna date?? Ok j/k, I carry all my weight in my middle and upper legs, It is caused by the pcos :( I am currently following the south beach diet (recommended by doc) and taking Metformin to help with my insulin resistance. So far in the past 2 mths I have lost 22lbs and after I get to my goal, I may try for more.

My dh is Navy, we are stationed in Florida and have never been and will never go overseas. We have 2 boys, see pics in sig, they are 5 and 1.5yo. We are trying for #3 (think pink!) and also looking to adopt another boy 0-5yo.

07-01-2005, 12:01 PM
Vicki- I remember when I was pregnant with my oldest daughter, everyone told me how I was "all baby" and would be back to my normal self in no time... They were assuming that because my legs were still so small. Grrrr. It was a real shocker when I was still over 200 pounds after she was born! I was naive... I gained over 80 pounds with my 1st pregnancy, and I should have KNOWN that it was not all baby weight, lol. My oldest daughter just turned 7 in April and my youngest just turned 5 in June. They are both curly-headed blondes, one with a darker blonde and deep brown eyes (oldest) and the other with light blonde and bright blue eyes (youngest).

Hey Angela- I would love a date! haha! Or maybe just some coffee if I am ever in Florida. Florida must be nice! We tried to get stationed at Patrick AFB at one time... We ended up in Missouri! Yuck. I have to give Navy wives credit... I could never be one. My husband is gone enough as an AF firefighter... I would not even want to imagine how much he would be gone as a Navy guy! Congrats on your weight loss so far! 22 pounds is awesome!

I am so procrastinating the gym today girls... I better get going before time ticks away!

07-02-2005, 12:55 AM
Hi everyone hope you are all losing big and staying op! My weightloss so far on day 16 is 14lbs! My Dh found out today that the requirements for a vasectomy is to be at least 25 and have 3 children agh!!!!!! Does anyone know how much outtave pocket the procedure cost I just cant believe they have those darn requirements it should be our choice either way!

Anyways I started exercising finally and I am so sore after 9 months of being so sedentary I am feeling my muscles for the first time lol My clothes are falling off of me so even if the scale isnt accurate I know im shrinking!

Hey all,
I am about to leave for the gym. I always feel better after I go. Plus it takes up time from the night time which is when I like to eat.Tomorrow hubby has duty so I am not sure what we will do. I may go shopping at Jusco.
That is a bunch of mess, I know so many guys who had it done with only two kids. Including my hubby. My hubby wrote a letter stating that I had a bloodpressure problem and should not get pregnant again.
Talk to everyone soon.

07-02-2005, 12:16 PM
Good Morning everyone :)
Hope everyone has an awesome and SAFE 4th of July!! I have some news.. I went to my pre op appointment and everything went well. THe surgery date is for Sepetember 13th 2005. I am sooo excited.. a little bummed that it is still a good ways off, but thankful I am even getting it. I guess it is safe to say I have a huge range of emotions. I am more than ready to go for this.
My husband said to look on the bright side, at least I will be able to still do lots of fun things this summer! He is right. I think I was a bit bummed because I have already been waiting nearly two years. It will pass fast though I bet. The hustle and bustle of getting the kids ready to go back to school will soon be here.
I hope everyone is doing well. Hang tough this weekend with all the BBQ's coming. I know BBQ is my ultimate weakness. Hugs all around!!

07-02-2005, 08:46 PM
Hey all, thought I would check in.

Nothing much going on here and we don't have plans for the weekend so maybe I will get some time to relax. Today we took the kids to play at the mall and then I cleaned while DH mowed the grass in the heat. Not fun.

Have a happy and safe 4th of July!!

It is Monday for me already and Happy Fourth!!!!
Today is weigh in day and I am down three more. :cb:
I have never lost weight this fast. I have never exercised so much. We are going to the world's largest aquarium today. Candy, you know what I am talking about.
Congrats on your surgery date. Your hubby is right about having a good summer. Plus I hate the hot weather.
14 lbs ,you go girl. :bravo: :cp:

Hey everyone,
I hope everyone survived the long weekend. Keep the support coming.
Vicki :)

07-06-2005, 08:32 AM
Good Morning! I haven't been feeling myself lately, I know it's the meds I am on but I have been avoiding posting because of it. The scale hasn't moved for me in over a week, I am not worried even tho it seems I have gained 1lb. My focus right now is not to gain and to get pregnant so my eating has slipped a little bit but I am working on that. Yesterday I had some brownie and spent the day in the bathroom to pay for it, I will definitely pass on the "goodies" next time.

Stacey - congrats on your date!!

Hey flmom,
Today is a new day and you are doing great. Hope everyone is ok?

07-07-2005, 12:56 PM
Just a quick hello... I am quite busy this week, and will be next week. I am keeping up with my "diet" and exercise while finishing up my research that is due next week! Ahhhh! I am starting to wish I never would have gotten myself into this, but getting paid almost 3 grand was too great to pass up. It will also be nice for me to get my research published and then presented in professional forums! I am excited. It will be a great thing to put in my resume for graduate schools.

Gotta go... Have to do my cardio and then get cracking on my research again. I can't wait until this summer is over! Only ONE more semester!!!!!!!!!!

Welcome Onetallmama! :)
Glad you found us. I am glad to hear you are back on WW, I have done WW a few times and lost allot of weight. It is a great program. I think the best thing is the support group meetings. I have really great friends I met at meetings. Do they have them in Alaska? They do not have them here. I want to start some sort of support group here. So, do you love it there? Where else have you been?

Welcome Jana!

Vicki - I have never played Tennis, it sounds like a good workout though.

Candy - you are getting paid and getting your research published, great!! What are you researching?

I am doing ok over here, had fun yesterday with my now 6yo, can't believe he's that old already. I also put my website back up, the sig tag below is linked to it. I am going to update it this morning since I didn't finish that before I uploaded it.

I have to go make my baby some breakfast, you all have a great day (or evening vicki?)

Of course it does. What service? Welcome aboard!!!
So, how are you taking the weight off?

07-09-2005, 11:37 AM
Thank you for the welcome! He's a mortarman in the Marine Corps but has a torn miniscus, and I can't remember the leg muscle but he tore that too last September. So he just hobbles around the base these days. Hopefully they'll be letting him out (chances are slim to none but he's been recommended for medboard) because he can't run, carry a pack or really do anything anymore. He used to be a cyclist, but can't even do that anymore :( (heartbreaking for me to watch)

But who knows! Everyone seems to be doing everything they can to keep him in (to his chagrin- lol!) actually if anyone knows anything about medboard or medical discharge I'd be interested to hear!

As for me Im losing weight more by emotionally assessing my needs rather than turning to food (havent binged in four months!) and reducing my calories to 1400ish. Oh and my food log (under support, be accountable thread) is helping me A LOT, as well as eating 5 small meals a day.

oh yeah and there's a pic of Dustin and I in '03 about to go to the MC Ball if you click on my username.

how are you losing the weight Vicki? and Im guessing your DH is Marines too (Okinawa Japan?)

Hi all...

flmom- I am doing research regarding the 14th Amendment of the US Constitution and an amendment to the Missouri Constitution that was passed last August. The Missouri amendment puts the prohibition of same-sex marriage into the state constitution.

My hubby is a cheif in the navy and we are at the AF base. There are allot of marines here. We love it. We have been through my husband breaking his C-7 in his neck twice and we stopped them from med boarding him and they gave him time to heal and stay in. He had surgery both times. He wanted to stay in and he had people who helped him stay in.
Speaking of marine bases, we were in Beaufort SC for three years and loved it.
As for losing weight I am bascially reducing my fat, no fastfood, no eating after 8:30, drinking nothing but water, and exercising my butt off(literally)
I started this 5 weeks ago tomorrow. I weigh in on mondays. I am not dieting, I am changing our life style for the whole family. I have lost weight more times than I can count but I am looking for the keys to keeping it off forever.

*waving from Alaska* :D

Yep, I go to the meetings here. Our leader is amazing! I just love her. We are Coast Guard and have been here about a year. We came here from Port Angeles, WA. Alaska is an adventure. I am not sure if I like it here yet or not. Winter this past year was VERY hard on me.

Well, off to bed, sun finally went down (1215am).

Good Morning from Florida :D

It finally stopped raining, we are feeling the affects of Huricane Dennis through storms. It's not bad though since the Hurricane will not be coming to our area. I have to say, dealing with Hurricanes and rain doesn't bother me as much as dealing with the continually gray sky in Wa state did.

Welcome ahealthierme! My DH wants out of the Navy and they are making it hard on him. His rate (mos/job) is locked and they are letting a LOT of other people out because of that but not him so far. He is really trying to transfer or just get out and enlist in the Army. He wanted to be there (army) in the first place but they wouldn't take him at 17 with no diploma (LONG story) and the Navy did.

Tomorrow is my appt with my RE (fertility doc). I have an ultrasound scheduled to see if my body made any eggs, I am very nervous. DH has to watch the boys so he can't go with me but I am used to that. I do need to talk to him about the stall on my weight loss, I am on one med that helps me lose weight and another that causes gains :?: On top of that, I have been so exhausted and having really bad headaches, it will all be worth it when I see those 2 lines but right now UGH!!

One tall mama,
My hubby wanted to go to Alaska. I heard it is hard to keep weight off there because of the winters. You will always have the experience.
I am so glad ya'll dodged the hurricane. Good luck with your ultrasound. I went through infertility with my first child. I lost 75 pds and got pregnant with my second with no drugs.I hear ya with the headaches, I am getting off the puter because I have one.
Oh yeah.Today was weigh in day and I am down 2 pds. :cb:
Talk to everyone soon.

Darn, just realized I never did an update on my doc appt. My official weight loss since starting to see the RE is 13lbs (end of may til now). I had nothing on the left side but I had a nice size follicle on the right. I go back on thursday to have another ultrasound to see if it's big enough to trigger. (smile and nod, it's good news ;) )

Vicki- Yah for weight loss! I am on my 4th week of being at 178lb, have to change something up here soon.

Candy- How's your research going?

onetallmama- we used to be in everett, wa. I miss not seeing mountains out my living room window. (now we have palm trees :dizzy: )

ahealthierme - nice pick of you and DF! How's you weight loss effort going?

I have been having pains on my left side, don't know why, there wasnt anything going on over on that side :?: Usually when I start having these pains my weight goes up a few lbs or so but it seems to be staying the same this time. My doc said my weight loss should pick up again if we don't get pregnant this time so we will see how it goes. Maybe I will be one of the lucky ones that loses while pregnant or at least only gains that 15lbs I should be limited to.

Glad to hear there is good news. I will pray for you for fertility. My mother said she prayed to Saint Anne when she was trying to get pregnant with me.
Hope everyone is doing great.

It is going... I am finishing it up to turn in tomorrow. I have stopped counting calories, but I am still eating healthy... no sugar, etc.

Glad to hear it is done.. I hear ya about the calories. I don't count them either. I don't because I want this to be something I can do forever.
I hear ya'll have another Hurricane coming to Florida. We have a typoon coming. It will be my first. I heard the power goes off easy. :(
Everyone else,
Hope all is going great. I have had a rough week this week. I survived the dentist which is a big deal for me. I have to go again next week.
Talk to ya'll soon,

Hey hey! My doc appt went well yesterday, now is the hard part of "wait and see". MIL called me last night to see if we have talked to DS about her hair loss yet. She found out she had breast cancer about 2mths ago and is going through chemo. I asked her to send a pic of her new haircut (before hair falls out) but I haven't told him she'll have no hair when she visits in Oct. It is supposed to be her and a friend coming down for a football game but her partner might come too, yuck! I do not like her partner at all, she is always trying to cause problem between dh and his mom or dh and me. Hopefully, mil leaves drama biotch at home ;) hehe

Vicki- we are on the NE side of FL so we will be missed by Emily also. I am sure we will get lots more rain and storms but at least no actual hurricane yet.

Nothing much else to add, lost 2.5 lbs this week but I may have already said that.

I am going to start us a new thread in the morning so look for a new one ;)
