Time for a few challenges!
How is everyone doing? What are your goals for this week? I think we need to think that through today, and make some plans! So in view of that, here are the challenges I propose:
1. Make a goal for this week. Share it! At the end of the week, we can talk about whether we realized our goals....
2. Water and workout for a Week! This is the WWW challenge! Get in your workouts, your water, and post on the exercise board.

Good Morning! I am sorry I was MIA a lot over the weekend. (Of course, I was not the only one! )
The party went well on Saturday. Tom actually bolted down the toilet with the help of the first guest to arrive...a young man who has helped him with the plumbing some. :) We got the wallboard up, primed and painted with the paint, and a lot of the rest of the room primed. Now all that is left is to finish a bit of priming and paint. Progress! Wow, it feels good!
We had about 30 folks here, and the kids swam. The water was really cold, but they did not seem to mind much. They decimated the pork bbq, chips and ice cream, but that was the whole point, so it was good to see! :) The last guests to arrive and leave were our Jamaican friends, and we had a blast sitting and talking to them. They are both great story tellers, and funny, so we were laughing a lot and enjoying ourselves until about 11pm! It had been a long day, and when I fell into bed, I was exhausted, but did not sleep very well as the BBQ was making me feel decidely icky. It finally seemed to settle about the time I woke up for good! :(
It was so hot and muggy here, we ended up turning on the air conditioner. Today looks promising...the sky is blue and the sun is shining. The weather was nice Saturday, but we had quite a storm yesterday!
Eating over the weekend was bad, bad! I had pork bbq on a whole wheat bun (the little Cobblestone Mill ones) and two hot dogs on whole wheat buns, but I got into chips, and drank beer, and ate some ice cream. Sunday, I did better, but lunch was beef wellington, and the puff pastry is not legal. We went to a friends for dinner after church, and one couple brought macaroni and cheese...and I had to eat some. The young man who made it was one of my students when he was in middle school. He made a big deal about it when I took a second spoonful of it...annoucing to the whole table that his middle school home ec teacher had just taken a second helping of his mac and cheese, and he had there fore arrived! I should have flunked him! :lol3: He was actually one of my favorites.
Well, I have rambled a good bit. I hope everyone is doing well...I am looking forward to hearing how you all are doing, and what goals you will set for the week. I am working on mine and will post them when I am sure of them. :)

Monet: Nice challenges!! My challenge for the week is to be 100% ON PLAN for the entire week. I was really, really bad on our camping trip. I must have had about a dozen smores and chips and hot dogs with white buns and pretzels and koolaid, etc. BUT, it was a BLAST. We had so much fun. The good news is that I have no other events coming up and nothing standing in my way of the 150's!
Well, I haven't been looking at the boards too much this weekend, but I'll look over last weeks entries if I have time in a little while and maybe make some replies.
Here in the North Country...where it was minus 30 for days on end...it is 72 degrees (above zero...) at 8:00 am. They are calling for Tstorms all day (woohoo!!) and it looks like a great day to relax and recoup after a busy weekend. But first, I have to clean the house a little and get some wash in.
Our camping trip was soooo....fun.... You know, our troop had two tents...one for them and one for me...but a couple troops came with full-blown campers!! Fifth wheelers and pop ups...I'm like...they're cheating!! That's not camping!! We didn't even have a coleman stove to cook on...only the campfire. I thought we were supposed to be roughing it. Oh, well...we did crafts and went swimming (the water was 50 degrees...I went in for about 30 seconds till my feet went numb and hurt) at the beach and went hiking on the nature trails. We saw Jupiter and it's moons on a gigantic telescope and we all got together and sang songs. The weather was perfection. Oh, and there were also the racoons running laps around my tent all night. I was nervous the first night until I realized they were looking for leftover smores adn things and they weren't going to rip my tent to shreds and kill me. I put every thing but the table cloth in the van and watched the little bandit climb on the picnic table and then leave because I didn't leave a thing for him. Then he just ran around all night. I didn't mind once I got usedto it. I'll post some picturesof the campsite and some activities onceI get them off the chip.
Okay...I have to go get changed and get my little scout off to school.
Talk to you guys later on!!

Morning all!
It looks like I'm going to be tied to the house today waiting for Lowe's to deliver a washer/dryer. That's ok, becuase I can't wait to get it! It's an all-in-one machine (not stack the same machine is both the washer and the dryer). I only have room for one machine and no way to vent a dryer. This is a convection dryer, so I'm really looking forward to getting it!
Weekend was good eating-wise. I lost .5 on my WI on Saturday. My ticker will stay the same because it does not reflect .5 losses and my weight was technically 261.5. Hopefully I'll see a little bigger drop this week at WI.
Monet--I'm glad your party went well and I'm glad you've got a new potty too! But remember what all that "a little of this and a little of that does to you."
Tech--I"m with you, I think the campers are cheating! It sounds like you had a good time--it's just important to get right back on track today!
The heat has arrived here--We may get up to 90 with a heat index around 100----YES!!!!!! For all of those who remember my whining about the winter that would never end--I will not whine about the heat--bring it on baby!
Have a great OP day everyone!

TECH: I am glad the campout went well! I agree...using a camper (even a pop up!) is cheating in my book! You were truly camping if you cooked over a campfire. We fudge a bit and use a Coleman stove and lantern when we camp.
FILLISE: You can HAVE the heat! I got the AC on, and it isn't going off until probably September! :) I don't mind heat...I just can't take it in anything but small doses!

Good morning Ladies
The weekend went well. It is so nice to wake up on Monday and be the same wt as you were on Friday instead of up 10 lbs. I had a legal weekend and honestly, it was so easy to do. Preparation.
Friday night we went to this new pizza buffet. I got a big salad and about 4 pcs of pizza and scraped the topping off. Then I asked the mgr if they had low carb pizza. He said they would make me one. It ended up being a bunch of veggies in a pan with cheese. It was still good.
Saturday was 2 graduation parties. I ate chicken BBQ with no bun, veggies and cheese. The second one had brats and hot dogs. I had 1 brat (no bread) and veggies and a couple meatballs. We met some people for breakfast and I had a sausage and cheese omlett. It came with hash browna nd toast and I didn't touch them. Then laster we had the most wonderful dinner. A friend invited us over to swim and cook-oup. We had fabulous pork chops, steaks, green beans, potatoes and strawberry shortcake. I took a sweet potato with me and she set aside som strawberriers before she sweentened them. I skipped on the cake and just ate the strawberries and whipped cream.
I was quiet pleased with myself and realized that if you really want to do it, you can. I kept thinking about those shorts I can't zip and my upcoming vacation.
My goal this week is to have another 100% OP week with exercise every day. I was going to get up this morning and walk before work but DH left later than normal and it threw me off schedule. So I will have to get soem exercise in before the girls VB game tonight.
Monet, Girlfriend you are susposed to be good. Remember, we are helping each other stay legal. Liked your challenges. Sounds like your party was a success. Glad the plumbing is taking shape.
Tech, Glad you had a great time on the camp-out. I agree, pop-up campers are not roughing it. Then again, my idea of roughing it is a Holiday Inn. It was hot here too. In the 90's yesterday. It was 76 when I got up this morning. Back on track today. The 150"s will be here before you know it.
Susan, Congrats on the .5 loss. A loss is a loss. I think those all-in-one washer/dryers are so cool. I'm with you on the heat, the hotter the better.
Breakfast: hard boiled egg, 1/2 grapefruit, coffee.
Snack: celery and pb
Lunch: chicken salad, 1/2 pc bread and cauliflower and an apple.
Dinner: pork chops, lima beans, mixed veggies.
Off to read the weekend posts. Have a great day.

TECH: Thanks for the pix! Looks like a lovely area to camp in!
JACK: Yeah, I really fell flat on my face in the legal department! :( Yesterday was not as bad, but the puff pastry is white flour. I am determined to be OP this week. Breakfast was two ww waffles, bacon and I used agave instead of the maple syrup... I also made espresso, and used half and half and agave instead of powdered fructose and heavy whipping cream. Not great, but legal and much better than chips, real maple syrup and stuff...
I need to go throw some clothes on and be ready to take James to work, when he finally finishes getting ready. (how did I ever raise such a tardy child???)

Howdy all- Ah the week end over and its back to normal... LOL. I had some wine over the week end and hope that won't make a difference in my weight loss. Will just have to see. My goal this week is to stay OP and drink lots of water. Its so darn hot and humid here I hate to stick my head out doors. I have pool envy!!! B- breakfast bar L- south beach pizza D- salmon, green beans and a salad. Snacks will be fruit and HB egg.
Monet- Your party sound so fun. You really had an event filled week end. LOL
Tech- Your campout sounded wonderful. I just love camping. And you did it the fun way. It would be super hard to resist those s'mores...
Fillise- I've never heard of the washer, dryer you're getting. It sure sounds interesting. Thats what I get for living back in the sticks.
Jack-K- What a good job you did with your eating!!! That really does show you theres a way to do it.
Well enough for now. Back to work!

Just got home a little while ago from having my last injection. He told me that if for some reason this doesn't give me the relief I need, he will bring me back in and do "trigger injections" straight into the muscles across the shoulder and in the "pone" at the base of my neck.
SUSAN...Never heard of a Convection Dryer...you're getting awfully hi-tech up there in EAGLE LAND!! I'll be anxious to hear how
you like it...I know hanging wash on the line gets to you after a while...especially, WHEN THE RAIN COMES!!
TECH...sounds like a good time was had by all! Thanks for the pictures...I'll inspect them shortly! I know you're glad to have that good weather...want some of this rain???
JACKIE...Sounds like you had a good time too! What's the name of the buffet so I can tell Cathy what she's missing?
How's HUBBY? When is his appointment?
MONET.....DANGIT!!! Another EVENT AT SPA MONET.... and I've missed this one too!

I got in from Harry's/Whole Foods about an hour ago, and the power was off! I could not even get into the garage. Its a good thing that Laura was home, since her friend who is living with us has my front door key! :( Its getting cloudy and it is already hot and muggy. More rain is going to do us in!
While at Harry's, I found some interesting stuff. I found 100% whole wheat graham crackers. They have 6g of sugar per serving, but in a pinch, they might be useful. I bought a box for Tom, and tried two with peanut butter. Yum! I also got Eden Foods Brown Rice chips. I have had them before and they are SO good! They are just brown rice that is processes somehow, fried, then they are spun to remove the oil! The end result is a light, crisp round little chip seasoned with salt and tiny specks of nori. I don't see why they would not be legal, since they are just brown rice, salt and nori. :)
I am falling asleep, and must take a nap!
BOB: I have two of those South Beach pizzas in the freezer...have not tried them yet!
TONI: I kind of doubt a glass of wine will do too much damage! You are doing great!
FILLISE: I was SO confused by that comment about liver.... :) I am glad I could figure it out!

Bob, The pizza place was CiCi's. It is on Breckinridge Ln close to Krogers. I think there is a chain in Florida somewhere. The buffet was $3.99. Can't beat that and the kids said they had the best cheese sticks they ever had. Appointment is not until the 14th. I hate that waiting. I think it is bothering him, of course, but you know how men are, they don't let on. Hope this shot helps. The trigger shots really didn't work too well for me.
Susan, what a disappointment on the washer. They should have called you.
Toni, I had some wine too. Not nearly as much as I normally have. I need to look for those pizzas when I go to the store Tuesday. I hear they are also coming out with ww crackers.
Monet, OK I'll let you slide this time, but no more. You just think about having to come on here and tell me about your slips and that will keep you legal.

Dinner was a chicken breast lightly rolled in ww flour and fried, broccoli and brown rice (cooked in the pressure cooker in 10 minutes!) and gravy made with ww flour. It was very yummy. The boys ate a lot! I really love how quick and easy the brown rice is in the pressure cooker... :)
BOB: There is another reason for you to come to Spa Monet... Lots of Krogers around here! Of course, I much prefer Publix. (we own stock! )
JACK: We have CiCi's Pizza here. Such a great deal! We took my nephews there once when they were visiting us, and I was afraid they would throw us out! They were all at the age that they were bottomless pits, and they ate, and ate, and ate!
I am going to go spend some time with my fantabulous hubby...

mmmmmm, made the most fabulous frititta tonight. Just sauteed some garlic and zuchini in a little olive oil then poured 2 scrambled eggs over the tenger zuchinni and grated some fresh parmesan cheese over it. I cooked it until the bottom was done and then threw it under the broiler until the top was cooked. It was fluffy and perfect--just like on the food network! I grated some more cheese on top and had it with a WW english muffin. Perfectly SB legal and very tasty and filling. I had a cup of SF chocolate pudding for dessert. I'm soooo glad that jello finally came out with the ready-made SF pudding cups.
BOB--do you need a care package from YOU-KNOW-WHERE????? I can send you something if you need it. We are still a few weeks away from the fresh maters. . .
Jackie--We have a CiCi's here too. I knew they did a low-carb pizze but have never tried it. I'm fortunate to have a pizza parlour literaly in walking distance from my house that makes a faculous WW crust pizza--ask Monet! I'm bummed about the W/D. I have dirty clothes all over my bedroom floor in anticipation. Now I'm going to have to go to the laundromat.
Monet--Let me know when you try the SB froen pizzas. I've seen them, but haven't bought one yet. Your chicken sounds good, I might have to investigate a pressure cooker.
OK--Off to bed. . . busy day tomorrow.

Good Tuesday Morning Ladies
I managed to get some floor exercises in last night. Not as much as I had wanted. I tried on my summer shorts last night and couldn't get them on so I am more determined to stay OP. Took my water bottle to the ballgame. Passed on the popcorn and pretzels.
BF: 2 hard boiled eggs.
Snack: celery and PB
Lunch - salad fromMcDonalds or Wendys, apple
Dinner, burrito ww tortilla
I am going to the grocery tonight. Oh happy day. My cupboards are bare. When you are cooking for 5 in lieu of 2, the food goes more quickly.
Monet, glad I can be that little devil on your shoulder.
Bob, Sorry, but I knew you would know that landmark.
Susan, You are some fancy cook. I'm with you on the puddings. I'm all about convenience. I have bought the Atkins pizzas and they are good. Wonder if SB is like them. The only good thing about laundermats is you get it done quickly.
Gonna get busy and then eat my eggs. Be back later.

Good Morning! I am feeling a tad cranky today. Tom woke me up at 6:20 and asked me where his shirts were. He knew good and well they were in the dryer, but he wanted me to go get them, and hang them up while he was showering, so he woke me up. I had slept poorly and was in a fairly deep sleep at the time. My thoughts were NOT kind. I did the shirts, tried to go back to sleep but couldn't. Yawns have been splitting my face, but I just could not fall asleep. I got up, and went to the grocery store. Of course I got more than I needed. I think I have some kind of obsessive compulsive disorder when it comes to grocery shopping. James has a doctor's appointment today for post op, so I am going to let him use my car. I have a friend coming over for lunch and to watch a video with me. Tonight, there is a young man from church coming over for dinner. It will be a busy day.
Breakfast was on the run so I could get to the store. I had a small bowl of Life cereal, and milk. I am drinking a cup of coffee as I write this, made with a bit of agave and some half and half. The Life cereal is not totally legal...its whole grain, but has 6 grams of sugar instead of only 3 or 5. Its a lot lower than other cereals, however, so I felt it was the best choice I had. Lunch will be stuffed eggplant, and dinner will be chicken, angel hair pasta in alfredo sauce with baby portabella mushrooms, and fresh broccoli.
I need to go out and weed the garden. The amaranth is taking over! It sure is a lot of WORK to get rid of it! I have spent hours out there, and it doesn't look like I did anything at all! :(
FILLISE: That all in one machine sound really cool! I will have to look into that. What brand is it? Are they hard to find? Just think of all the space I could save! The frittata sounds really good! I have never made one. Perhaps I need to try it.
JACK: You did great! I hear you on the shopping and suddenly having five insead of two! Some things I just can't keep in the house anymore...its gone before I even know its been open. One thing that helps is having a list on the fridge. If you use something up, or its almost gone, you are supposed to write it on the list. That has helped me a lot in keeping up with stuff. Of course, I STILL get too much. I need to develop discipline to stick to my list. This morning, I needed four things...almond milk, basil, black olives and cottage cheese. I came home with those items plus coffee beans, parmesan cheese, whipping cream, baby portabella mushrooms, ww angel hair pasta, and two heads of broccoli. Instead of $10, I spent $45!
BOB: How is the shoulder today? When are you going to send me your time table for cooking in the pressure cooker?
Ok, I need to go. I just had a run in with a cat...he freaked out and when I tried to pick him up, he scratched my hand trying to get away and cut it really badly. I got the bleeding stopped, and a big bandage on it, but typing hurts pretty badly...will try and check in later!

Just a fly by, its almost time for DH to come home for lunch. The SB pizza was good except the crust didn't get crisp. But it could have been my toaster oven. Its great to have a lunch size for a hurry up meal. Found out my DB is coming from Colorado for a visit so had to run out and buy some groceries this morning. I'll have to make him his favorite pie coconut cream this afternoon. But it won't tempt me. I'm pretty strong right now. But my meals while he's here will be SB legal. Better run and fix that lunch now....

Good afternoon,
I had a nice but busy weekend. We went to church in the morning, then off to meet some friends at a malaysian restaurant in Buford. Sorry Monet, my girlfriend chose that place last min so we went along, otherwise I will be glad to meet you there :) We went to my fav malaysian restaurant, "Penang" and I had my one of my fav chicken curry and rice with some side spicy dishes on the side. Not legal but oh so good. I haven't been to that restaurant for 2 years and I was so glad to be there. It reminds me so much about home. I missed the food so much :( We were actually there to meet another 2 couples and one of them just had a baby 2 months ago. It was so nice to see the little newborn, so tiny and cute. I just don't remember Jess being that small anymore. My memories are really fading fast :) I gave most of Jess's girl clothes to my friend and I missed them already :(
On Monday, dh's friends came over for a visit and I made them some baked ginger-dressing salmon, sauteed green beans and onions, sauteed spinach with garlic and red pepper flakes and basmati rice pilaf. All legal and I was so happy :) We spent few hours catching up and by the time they left, it was a little late to take Jess to watch a movie. Dh and I were planning to take her to the theater for "Magdagascar" and it will be her first time at the theater so I was a little disappointed that we didn't make it. Looks like we will do it this weekend.
Today, dh and I woke up late, like 8.30am because Jess didn't come to wake us up. She woke up earlier but she went to watch the TV by herself and played with her new doll that she got from one of the couples we met on Sunday. It was her delayed birthday present. Needless to say, I felt refreshed :) After breakfast, Jess and I went to Pike nursery to check out more plants. I bought a nice perennial (3 plants) for my garden and also some annuals flowers for my flower bed. I am in a planting mood because I just love seeing flowers everywhere :)
Some replies :
MONET : You were right, you were not the only one MIA last weekend...lol. Glad your party went well. I feel the heat too especially the humidity. Jess and I were sweating so much while we were out this morning. By the time we get home, we felt like we could drink a whole gallon of water...lol. I should bring a bottle of water out with me next time. We had our air-condition turned on as well. What a blessing to have cool air in the house :) Oh no, Tom dare to wake you up to do chores at that early hours?? I won't be a kind soul at that time...lol. My dh has this insensitivity of talking to me when he knows I am sound asleep. I am talking about after 1am and he would asked me if I am asleep, tired??? Of course!!
TECH : If I go camping, I will be cheating too...lol. I am not really good at it although I can rough it out when I have to...lol. Glad you had a nice camping trip.
FILLISE : What?? 0.5 lb loss over the weekend?? On weekend?? LOL. WTG!!! That is quite an accomplishment and I mean it :) Your fritata sounds yummy. I will have to make some soon. I have tried the SB pizza and I think they are pretty good considering that it is a healthy option. The taste is good but the crust is not so good but that is okay with me for ocassional pizza craving. I prefer Amy's ww cheese pizza...yummy!!
JACK : WTG on staying op all weekend. You are an inspiration and so is Fillise :) I know you can have another op week this week. I love going to the grocery to fill up my pantry and fridge with good stuff to make. Have fun at the grocery.
TONI : It is hot and humid here as well. We will have some afternoon rain for the next few days. At least the plants will be happy with having sun and water as well. I like the SB piza as well but like you the crust wasn't impressive but it was okay as far as the taste of the pizza. I could eat it once in a while. I like Amy's ww pizza better, yum!
BOB : Nothing like a goodnight sleep. I am happy for you :)
It's time for some "quiet time" for me and Jess. Will check in later.

Hey, guys. I was in a foul mood earlier. All because of the scale/fluid retention. You would think it simply isn't possible to put on 8(!) pounds of fluid in 1 day. But I guess it is. This is very discouraging. But I'm hanging in there...I did my 4 mile WATP this morning. I really needed to sweat, so I did. I also have exercise this evening at church. I feel that sweating is one way to rid your body of excess toxins and too much salt. So bring on the sweat, lol. My goals for the week...1st, I want to stay OP the ENTIRE week(especially the weekend). This is a really HUGE goal for me since it's been AGES since I've accomplished this. 2nd, to cut down on my caffeine. 3rd, to meet my personal exercise goals. Alright, here's today's menu:
BF- was a large peach with plain yogurt and a little Splenda
Snack- 7 almonds
Lunch- plate of steamed veggies and 3 oz. hamburger patty with SF ketchup(diet coke w/splena)
Snack- strawberry smoothie(6 strawberries, 6 oz. skim milk, splenda, and ice)
Supper- will be a boneless chicken breast cooked in mush. soup, green beans, side salad with Casear dressing- caffiene-free diet coke

Just checking in before I head home. I am so excited about going to the grocery tonight. I am sure I won't be excited about the bill though. :?:
Toni, how nice your DB is coming for a visit. Yum! coconut pie. My fav. I knowyou will do just fine with it.
Bob, I always worry when I see a post from you during the day. Enjoy your movies. Can't remember the last time I saw one on video or the show.
Monet, Men! Gotta love them. Hope your mood has improved. Enjoy your lunch and friend.
Julia, I've heard that movie is so cute. Jess will love going to the movies. Glad you got a little extra rest. I'm sure you can use it.
Heart, those are some great goals for this week and and I am sure you will meet each one. I was disappinted too when the scale hadn't moved this morning. Funny how it affects our moods.
Have a great evening.

Sorry I haven't been around much the last few days. Life has been crazy. Part of it great like blueberry picking day and some of it not so good. Yesterday Romeo came out of the barn and started going down. We had to call out the vet. It looks like he may have injured himself somehow. He seems to be doing better today.
Bob...I enjoyed the most wonder mator sandwich just for you. *smile*
Jack-K...my kids just love going to CC's. I can't remember the last time I went. Hope you find tons of bargins at the store tonight.
Monet..I don't blame you. I think I'd be cranky too. It's so hard for me to go back to sleep when something or someone wakes me up.
Heart...sounds like you are back in control...WTG with goal setting and getting motivated.
Julia...that spinach sounds wondeful.
Toni...you are one strong woman if you can turn down some coconut pie...yum :)
I need to chop up the pork for dinner so I'd better scoot.
Love and hugs,
Crystle

My hand is a bit better, but still not over the pain. The poor cat...I have no idea what his problem was. I wonder if he caught and ate a blue tail skink. I hear they are like an LSD trip for a cat! He is so jumpy lately!
Lunch was stuffed eggplant slices. (the recipe is on the board...I posted it a while back) They are so yummy! I made two eggplants worth, and we ate them all, with some help from our 'adopted' daughter who came home while we were eating lunch. I also had some Bubble Tea, but sweetened it with agave, and did not eat all the tapioca. I have had to 'talk' to myself a few times today, but so far, so good. I have not succumbed to temptation since the weekend! I keep thinking of having to tell Jack-K! :)
I need to go work on dinner. I am making chicken piccata (with whole wheat flour), and I need to pound the chicken breasts before I cook them.
I will hopefully get back here before bedtime, and do some replies!

Good afternoon:
I did read the posts, but don't have time for persoanl replies today. I have my Mom's Club banquet tonight (swearing in of the new board members). It is at Old Chicago. There were 4 dinner options, and none of them were legal. I ordered the mushroom & spinach lasagna. I probably won't eat it all, but have done well so far today, so can afford a few more calories.
So anyhow, I have to get the kids bathed, get dinner made for them and DH and still get showered and dressed.
I went to Costco over the weekend; I haven't been for 2-3 months. I found some good things though, and wanted to share. They finally have stone-ground ww bread (by Aunt Hatties). You can get two large loaves for $3.99 (here), and they only have 2g sugar per slice. They also had seasoned asparagus spears in two large jars; they are delicious, and a great way to get those veggies in. They only have vinegar and spices added to them. In the refrigerated section, they had a 4-pack smoked salmon (perfect for lunches or light dinner for 1). It was a variety pack...peppered, cajun, regular and lemon garlic. I like to have these here for my lunches. Also, I got a great pre-cut package of veggies for grilling. It had thick length-wise cuts of carrots, zucc, squash, red peppers, red onions ready for the grille. I put a little bit of olive oil and seasonings on them and cooked them on the Foreman grill for a few minutes and they were excellent. They also still carry the Mrs. May's nut clusters, which are great! I watch the kids sugar intake, but not as closely as mine...but my big goal for them is eliminating all trans fats and as much sat fat from their diets as possible. They need fat, but not the bad kind!! So, Costco carries Alexis French Fries in the frozen section, with no transfats. I got a bag for the girls. They like to have those with lunches sometimes, and I just bake them in the oven. I have found smaller sizes of the Alexis potato wedges at my local grocery store, and they have yummy flavors (garlic & basil, vinegar, etc...); yes, I know from 1st hand experience ;) .
I have maintained 122#'s for the past few days. I did go to the gym on Sat & Mon, and will go again tomorrow and Friday and Saturday. My eating is getting better and better. I have so many good food choices in the house right now. It makes all the difference in the world.
I had to mention that we did watch SUPERSIZE ME over the weekend, and it was hilarious!! I got such a kick out of that guy! But, so enlightening and well done. It was excessive (eating 3 times a day), but really shows how too much can have a definate impact on so many aspects of your body (inside and out). I hope a lot of people rent it and learn from it. It is amazing how food is so much like a drug....so euphoric while eating it, and then you crash!
Well, I better so get showered and ready and get dinner in the oven. I hope to check in tomorrow sometime and get some replies in.
Take care!

Our guest stayed later than I anticipated. Dinner was not what I was planning totally...we had the chicken piccata, angel hair pasta, and instead of broccoli, I made a salad. It was faster. :) I need to check another recipe for the piccata. The sauce turned out way too tart and lemony. I may have just had larger lemons than I was supposed to. It tasted good, but was too tart.
My crankiness has continued, and everyone is giving me a lot of room! :s: I may have to be cranky more often!
My hand is really bothering me tonight, so I will do my replies tomorrow morning. Sweet dreams everyone!

Good Morning!
Its Weigh In Wednesday.... I hope the metal monster is good to all of you. I did brave getting on it this morning. I was down two pounds from last week, but then, I was up 8 last week, so I am not totally psyched about it.
I have been OP since Monday morning, with the exception of a bit of Bubble Tea tapioca pearls yesterday. Lots of stuff keeps calling to me, but I keep thinking of having to tell Jack-K, and that is helping me a lot! (Thanks, Jack!)
My hand is a lot better today. Its red and swollen where the cut is, but doesn't hurt as much. The cat is totally recovered. I never did figure out what freaked him out, but I suspect one of the kittens jumped on him while he was sleeping. (note to self: never pick up a freaked out cat!)
I have not eaten breakfast this morning yet. I have had two cups of espresso with half and half though. I have a doctor's appointment today. Its with the surgeon who repaired the hernia. He likes to do a six month check to make sure everything has healed properly. That area is fine, the incision from the hysterectomy still bothers me. :(
I meant to do replies this morning, but find I am out of time again. I will get to them this afternoon. Just know I love you all dearly! :)

Happy WIW Ladies
Hope to see lots of losses today.
The scale was down 1 lb since Monday. I can't remember what it was last week, it is at least 1 down for sure. My goal is 2 lbs a week until vacation in 3 weeks.
We were at the grocery last night for 2 hours. A big total of $480, but considering it is for 5 people, not too bad. Hopefully we won't have to go back for 3 weeks other than milk and bread. Was going to make ww pizza tonight but forgot to get yeast. DD & I were buying all kinds of healty OP stuff. South beach has some ww crackers out. Look like wheatables. Haven't tried them yet. They come in individual packages so that is good to control your portion size. They also have some ww cookies with 3 grams of sugars. Got some but haven't tried it. They also come in individual packages. I forgot to look for the pizzas though.
Got in some floor exercises last night while what a few minutes of TV. Not as much as I would have liked but we didn't get home from the store until after 9:00. Had to go get my blood work done this morning. My appt was at 7:15 and it only took a minute so I was at work 35 minutes early. So I got my wts and went to the conference room and worked out for 25 minutes.
BF; protein bar, strawberries
lunch, salad with grilled chicken, balsmic vinegarette dressing, peach, sf pudding.
dinner: burgers. ???
Crystal, sorry to hear about your dog. Hope he is better.
Monet, sorry your hand still hurts. No telling what got into that cat. You better believe you have to answer to me. That was our deal.
Nat, I agree it is so much easier when you have good food in the house. I went to the store last night and had so much to choose from today, it was fun.
Have a great day, be back later.

Morning all! I had a great weigh-in today with a loss of 3 lbs! That makes 18.5 since the end of March and 42 total. Yippee!
Jackie--Congrats on the loss! I'm all about these single serving packs of stuff-especially snack items. Portion control has always been my big problem, so I love the idea of one small bag! I'll have to look for the SB crackers!
Monet--Congrats on the two lbs! But now I need to do a little tough love (you asked us to do this). Bubble tea is not legal in any way, shape, or form. Tapioca is one of the WORST GI foods out there. You are still trying to slip stuff by and that is going to affect your weight loss. I love you to pieces, but I see you posting "I had a great day, except. . . . It's all those "excepts" that add up to very slow or no weight loss. (Go back and look at how many times you do this, the WW grahm crackers come to mind too, legal except for the 6gs of sugar. . .). I hope this isn't too harsh, but I see how frustrated you get with the pace of your weight loss and I want you to reach your goals!
Nat--I wish there was a Costco near here. Those marinated aspargus spears sound good! I need to see Supersize Me! I think we all need to see it.
Country--I hope Romeo is doing better! Sounds like you are busy. Mmmmmm, blueberries. Keep checking in to let us know how you are doing!
Heartmom--I hear you on the fluid retention! Keep drinking your water and keep sweating. I'm curious, since weekends are such a problem for you, do you want to walk us through a typical weekend for you and maybe we can help you pinpoint the critical trouble spots and come up with strategies for dealing with them?
Julia--Yeah, on the weekend--amazing isn't it? Glad you had such a good weekend! Gald to hear you got some rest too! I don't envy you having to go all the way through the hot and humid summer with a baby on board. I guess that will help your water intake!
Toni--I don't think those pizza crusts ever get crisp. I have better luck making my own on WW pita. I cook them on a pizze stone and they get pretty crisp.
BOB--I'm not asking, so I'm not jinxing! Have you bought anything today? I got the TSV last night before it sold out. I don't need anymore bisque--do you?
OK--time to get back to work. I hope everyone has a great OP day!!!!!
Susan
ps--anyone know when Gator is due to get back?

WIW...I'm holding fast to 161 and since I've been bad, I'll take it. Well, this week has been pretty good, except the the baby size cone I had at the ice cream place. DD had Olympics day yesterday in Clayton and I took them there afterwards as it was so hot. Her class had United States as their country this year, which made buying a shirt a lot easier...last year they were Zimbabwe or something and the year before they were someplace in a tropical rain forest. Anyhow...she's about the least athletic person in the entire school, but she got a gold medal in arm wrestling!! Last year she got silver! Go figure!! She was pretty excited about it. Then we had to go to the doctor to get her a new stash of allergy meds...this year it's Clairnex and Flonase. Poor thing was miserable camping with all the cottonwood things floating around. But a couple days on meds and she'll be fine.
The temp here today is supposed to be 75 and sunny with afternoon Tstorms and tomorrow, 80 and afternoon Tstorms. My favorite kind of weather...except for fall when the snow starts to fly. The weather has been dry and hot (for us!) for days and days and my tomato plants are GINORMOUS!! :D No fruit yet, but the plants are lush and dark green with loads of yellow buds. I have to get things to stake them up pronto before they fall over. I did have a little critter eat one of my pepper plants, but I have seven more of them planted. My beans and peas are doing great as well. Oh, and my radishes and so full of leaves!! Thanks, you guys, for recommending Miracle Gro...it did the trick for sure!! Today I have to plant my last rose bush. It has a bud on it already starting to bloom. White with hot pint edges. I can hardly wait! And I have all my impatience in and my hostas are growing out of control practically. They're huge!! They love my yard because it's so shady and cool.
I also had my first stop to a natural food store yesterday. It's on the way to the doctor and I'm always in a hurry, but yesterday I had time and got some sprouted grain tortillas!! A little chewier than the flour ones, but you know...
Anyhow...yesterdays menu:
BF: 4 bacon and cantaloupe and coffee
Lunch: Had to eat on the fly so I had an apple
Snack: Illegal baby size vanilla custard cone :( Sorry, just had to have a small taste.
Snack 2: Two small cheese quesadillas
Dinner: Turkey burger patty (grilled with hawaiian marinade, which was probably illegal, but I reasoned that the sugar was burned off in the cooking  . And it was a tiny bit, besides.) with green beans.
Today:
BF: 2 sausages, 1/2 grapefruit and some grapes with coffee
Okay...time for a few replies:
Monet: Wow...hope your hand get better soon. You're picatta chicken thingy sounds delish! I love lemon things...and what the heck it a blue tail skink?
Pancho: That lasagna sounds great. I'd go off plan for it, too...but then it doesn't ever take much for me to cheat!! :o I have yet to rent Supersize Me, but plan to soon!!
Crystle: What is Romeo? Cat? Dog? Horse? I'm sorry he's sick. I had to put my cat Fyl to sleep last summer...I've never had to do that (all of my cats in my life met their maker on Latta Road and ended up buried under the willow tree :^: ) before until Fyl. Talk about yanking on every heart string. I sat there crying with her in my arms for 15 mins in the vets office and she looked up at me like, "alright already...send me to the heavyside layer sometime today, please." She was such a nice, prim and proper queen of a cat. She almost seemed embarassed to be in such a state...she was always loosing her bladder and kept falling down the stairs. We kept trying to nurse her back to health until she took a really bad fall and we decided to just get the inevitable overwith...the vet was telling us for months that her time had come but we didn't want to believe it. Very sad. Anyhow...hope all goes well with Romeo.
Laurie: I know I don't have to remind you to drink lots of water...but thought I would anyway. When I was pregnant with both of my kids, I retained so much water it was disgusting and they all told me to drink gallons of water (well, not gallons, I'm exaggerating) and the water in your body will go down. It's like attracted to the drinking water and follows it out of your body or some odd thing. And I've been told that asparagus is a great dieretic (sp).
Julia: It sounds like you had a great weekend socializing!! And isn't if funny when the little ones start getting so independent? My son does his best to sneak down in the morning and turn on the GameCube in the mornings.
Toni: If you ever come across a legal coconut cream pie that's legal...you better let me know!! Cream pies are my FAVORITE!! Have fun with your DB!!
BOB: Send that cleaning lady my way!! My house...I feel like I'm living in squalor!! Well, it's not that bad, just really cluttered!! And my kids have way more toys than God ever intended any kid to have...ever. And they don't have a playroom, so guess where they all end up. Spoiled...but happy, and that's what counts in the end...
Jack: I have the opposite problem with my shorts...which I'm very happy about, I might add. I can take down my pants to pee without even unbuttoning them!! I'm going to buy more shorts, but I'm waiting for a) a sale and b) to be in a solid size 12. Meanwhile, I'll be happy to keep pulling them up.
Susan: That fritatta sounds delish!! I make something like that for breakfast from time to time with sauteed sausage, green peppers and onions.
Okay...I think that's everyone. Where's Cindy and Sebray been lately?
I had to mention one more thing...the other night on the Travel Channel they had something on called Food around the World or something and they showcased Thousand Islands Salad Dressing!! Which is, of course, named after the Thousand Islands where I live in Clayton!! It was created about a hundred years ago and they showed all the islands and the river and the 1000 Islands Inn where it was created and showed the lady that owns it making a big batch of dressing and bottling it to be sold. It was cool!!
Okay...have to do some power cleaning. My house is out of control!!

I'm in a bit of a mood. Hubby is getting on my nerves lately and so are the kids. Boogie just got a spanking for throwing his food. Anyway, I'm down a couple from yesterday, but still up 4 from last week. TECH- I drink more water than anyone I know. Yesterday, I had 185 ounces. More if you count the ice, lol. I just have problems with fluid retention. SUSAN- The weekends. It involves social gatherings that are usually food-oriented. That's one thing, the other is just being in "weekend mode." I have to break that. I'm really going to try this weekend to stay 100% OP. Nothing great going on today, got my workout in earlier. Showered, now I'm on the computer. So exciting. My stomach is growling so it's time for lunch. Here's my menu for the day:
BF- plain yogurt with a peach and a tbsp Splenda
Lunch- will be a grilled chicken breast and bowl of salad with a "little" cheese, bacon bits, and Caesar dressing. Diet Coke sweetened with Splenda
Snack- ? maybe a strawberry smoothie(6 strawberries, spoon of Splena, ice, 6 oz skim milk)
Supper- Spaghetti(meat and sauce only) and a fully loaded salad with Caesear dressing, cf diet coke
I had a strawberry smoothie yesterday and it really hit the spot. Maybe when I get my weight under control, I'll add a scoop if NSA vanilla ice cream to it to make a "shake." Alot of people say that eating fruit makes them want sweets more. With me it's the total opposite. It actually helps my sweet-tooth cravings. I just make sure I eat it 30 minutes before or 2 hours after. I'm trying to get my kids to eat healthier, too. Yesterday, I cut an apple up and put PB on the slices. At first, they were like I'm not eating that. Of course I said oh yea you are and they ended up asking for more, lol. Alright, my stomach keeps reminding me it's lunch time!
Jack-k- Congrats on the pound!
Monet- At least your a pound lighter than last week!
Fillesse- your really doing well with WW and SB combined.

Howdy!!
Hmmmm....let's see. Lane went to her "Look What I Can Do" class yesterday (90 minutes of arts, crafts, songs, music, games, etc...); she loved it. She goes again tomorrow. It is on Tues & Thurs for the month of June. Britt went to her art class today; that will be every Wed. for the month of June. Next month, they are both taking tumbling classes and Britt will take a Pom/Cheer class. So, we have swim lessons on Monday, Lane's class on Tuesday, Britt's class on Wednesday, Lane's class on Thursday, and we all go to the gym together on Friday....so we have something going everyday. It keeps the kids from getting bored though.
I went to my Mom's club banquest last night, and ate about 2/3 of my lasagne, my entire salad, half of my bread, and a small slice of cake. The scale showed it this morning too....I was at 123.5#. Oh, I also ate a few handfuls of peanut M&M's that were out in the middle of the table (no willpower when it comes to those :D ).
I went to the gym this morning and then to my new family doctor. I really liked her; she was very thorough. She actually wants me to go in for a colonoscopy in July since my family has a history of colon/rectal problems, and I have IBS. I also have hemorrhoids from time to time, and it's easy to contribute any rectal bleeding to that, when it could actually be something else. I had eaten before I went because I was so hungry after working out, so I have to go back next week for my bloodwork. I weighed 123# at the doctor's office, and that was after working out and having a BM, so I think my scale is really close to being accurate with the doctor's scale. That is always good to know; it's not fun getting a 5# surprise when you get to the doctor's office.
I got a call from Lane's preschool today (which is at Britt's school). She was on a waiting list, and I wasn't even sure if she would be going next year...but they have an opening for her in the early 3's program. She will only go on Tuesdays & Thursdays from 9-11:45 a.m. I think she really needs it. She will love it, and she will have to learn some structure and how to follow directions.
Monet: Any sign of that package yet? I hope you will get it soon. I am glad you lost 2 of those 8#'s; I hope the rest comes off soon for you. Keep an eye on that cut to make sure it doesn't get infected. I knew a nurse once that got cat scratch fever from a cat scratch and ended up getting really sick.
Jack-K: Glad you are down another pound...you are on a roll. I love to have pre-packaged stuff (although you usually pay a bit more for it). It's great to grab and go. Do most of the South Beach products have hydrogenated oils in them? It seems like I looked at the cereal and pizzas once, and they both did. I'd love to know if those crackers or cookies do.
Fillise: Congrats on the 3#'s!! That is fantastic!! Those weekly weigh-ins sure keep you accountable and on track!
Tech: I'm glad you haven't seen a gain even though you've been a little naughty. I hope it doesn't catch up to you. I do so good for awhile, thinking I'm getting away with being naughty, and then one day I step on the scale, and whammo, there it is....a few more pounds. I hope that doesn't happen to you. I hope your DD feels better soon; allergies can really be a drag. I think you will acquire a taste for those tortillas; you just have to fill them full of lots of good stuff and then you don't notice the texture as much. I actually prefer them now. Whole Foods has a large stone ground whole wheat wrap, in the refrigerated section. They are soft like a regular tortilla and work great for wraps. I haven't been there in awhile though, but would like to get some more of those for summer sandwiches.
Heart: I tend to eat more on weekends because we are home and it is accessible. Also, I eat when I am bored. I am trying to make sure my kids are getting plenty of fruits and veggies too; it's tough someitmes. Imagine my surprise when I walked into the kitchen yesterday, and Britt was at the counter eating celery slices with soynut butter (she's allergic to peanuts).
BOB: Thanks for the offer on the puppy, but my DH would KILL me. We have agreed no more than two dogs at one time (we once had 4.....I'm a sucker for a stray). I think that when we do get another one someday, it will be a King Charles Cavalier spaniel. They only get 13-20 #'s and are great with kids and other animals. Our oldest dog is 10, and will probably live a lot longer, so I am sure we will not be taking that insane leap for awhile ;) .
I hope you all have a wonderful day.
Take care!

Evening everyone! Well, I burned the palm of my left hand tonight while making dinner. It hurts pretty bad, but at least the right one doesn't seem to hurt as much anymore! I was using an oven mit, but the pan burned me right through it! :(
I went to the doctor this afternoon, and I was pretty mad when I left. It was a post op check up, but they charged me. It was not MY idea, it was the doctor's. If I had known, I would have cancelled the appointment! Afterall, its 45 minutes away.
I did go to the DeKalb Farmer's Market while I was down there, and got a ton of stuff. I got lots of fresh fruits and veggies, some brown rice chips, roasted cashews, almonds and peanuts, and a lot of 'stinky' cheeses. For dinner tonight, we had stuffed steak ( the stuffing turned out really good! I made it with whole wheat bread, triscuits, onions, celery and some of that squeeze margarine and chicken broth. I plan to use the leftovers to stuff a piece of fish for lunch tomorrow) salad, and cheese and triscuits. I had mostly Maytag bleu cheese, but tasted the Cotswald, and Roquefort. I also had a glass of red wine. Lunch was one slice of bread with ham, and sprouts, and water. I had a snack of brown rice chips and some cashews in the car on the way home.
One thing I got at the market was Chana Dal. It is supposed to have an incredibly low GI. I cooked some tonight in the pressure cooker, and will play with some recipes tomorrow. They are used a lot in Indian cooking, so they go well with curries, and spicy dishes. You can use them to make hummus, as they are related to chickpeas. Right now, they are not so exciting, but I will let you all know if any recipes turn out good! :)
PANCHO: No sign of the package yet. I won't be worried until Friday. :) I am glad you like the new doctor. I need to find a new one, and I am dreading it. My insurance dropped my present doctor who I love. That is great that Lane got into the class. How many days a week will it be? That will give you some time off....
HEART: I noticed the plain yogurt on your menu...how is that working out using splenda? I am sorry you are in a 'mood'! I am too! I made Tom do his own lunch and smoothies tonight. I told him my hands hurt too much...which is true!
TECH: A blue tailed skink is a lizard that is common here. We have a lot of them in our yard because they like the swimming pool, I think. Their tails are an irridescent blue. Something about the blue coloring is toxic to cats, and makes them go crazy! It can be temporary or permanent. Not sure why...
FILLISE: Way to go on the three pounds lost! You are doing great! Any news on the washer/dryer?
JACK: I think $480 sounds good...I shop for five too. Two men who are both big eaters, two young girls who eat junk, and me. The men have expensive tastes...like stinky cheeses that cost $15 a pound.... Today, I spent over $100 at the farmer's market! Of course, $20 was a gallon of Grapeseed oil, and another $30 was stinky cheeses.... I did very well today. Thanks for sitting on my shoulder. :)
COUNTRY: How is Romeo doing? Gotten any squash lately? :) I have a poblano pepper on one of my plants! I am so excited!
I think that is it for me. I hope I did not miss anyone! If I did, slap me or something. :) I am going to bed! I am exhausted!

It's me again. I went to church this evening and then had to run to Walmart for a few grocery items. We ended up eating dinner early, at 4:45. But it was really hearty. I had 2 BIG helpings of salad, 1 sl legal garlic toast, and spaghetti(meat, veggies, NSA sauce). But when I was at Walmart, I felt like I "wanted" something. So I got one of those SF bags of Lifesavers butter toffees(really good). I had a serving(5, 45 cal.) and I messed my caffeine goal up for the day and caved in and had a diet coke with it. I'm feeling guilty about that, but all in all, I think I'm doing pretty good. I did NOT like the fact that my pants were snug on me when I put them on this afternoon. These are the same pants that I normally have to wear a belt with. Not this time. So that's even more incentive to stay on plan. I would love to officially say farewell to the 12's altogether and hello to 10's. I wear a 10 in Duckhead pants, but I think they are just made "big." Well, I really don't have much to report, just winding down for the night.
Pancho- I think my scale is probably close to the doc's as well. I always weigh Boogie on it with clothes and he weighs 37 #'s, the same as the doc's scale. But I still subtract 2 #'s from the docs scale when I go for clothes allowance. At home, I normally weigh myself in my underwear or no more than a t-shirt first thing in the morning after I pee. I want my real weight, not food or clothes weight added to it. I'm so bad that when I have a doc appt, I make it for early morning and make sure I don't eat or drink, lol. Right after I weigh, I'm headed either for the water fountain or drink machine, lol.

Monet- The yogurt is okay, I'm still getting used to it. I've been slicing a peach in it and adding a spoon of splenda. It's still a tad bitter, but I don't want to use too much Splenda, besides, after awhile my taste will probably adapt. I still have one sf strawberry yogurt that needs to be consumed:)

Hello ladies......
I am feeling very guilty for not being here in such a long time. The only excuse I have, is that I have been very busy.
Dh started working with his friend a few weeks ago, and I spent the first week getting my garden in. I planted lettuce, spinach, turnips, carrots, beets, green beans, cucumbers, cabbage, zucchini, yellow summer squash, Early girl tomatoes, and my favorite sugar snack cherry tomatoes. I also planted some spaghetti squash at my Mom's. Those babies really spread out, so I needed the space she has. Everything has come up except for the squash. Don't know if it washed out or not. The weather was absolutely fantastic over the Memorial Weekend, and it has rained every day since. Our high today was only 61, so I may end up going into town and getting some plants to put in instead. Hope not, but will wait a few more days, then decide.
I had my small surgery done last Wednesday. Haven't gotten the biopsy results back yet, but will be calling tomorrow. My arm was a bit more sore on Thursday than I thought it would be, but Dr said that the mass was bigger and deeper than she expected. Had to go clear down to the muscle. Went back in Friday and had the drain tube removed. Monday, I was back in for an ultra-sound on my legs. I am having some lasar surgery done on the vericose veins that I have. I have spent many years on my feet, including both times I was carrying my boys. And my legs show it. They ache alot, and as much as I like to do my walking.......I think it is about time I did something about it.
My 23 year old niece is having surgery tomorrow. She has had a bad flare up from her Crohn's. They think that the new treatment she is on has been working as far as starting to heal some of the ulcers in her insides.......only problem being, that they think it started healing over a sore that didn't heal underneath some scar tissue. (Does that make any sense?) So, tomorrow they are doing surgery. I think Marci (her Mom) said that they will cut the small intestine, and remove the scar tissue, and then resew the intestine. It sounds pretty serious. I am heading in again in the morning. I wasn't able to get there today as Buddy went in to have his leg checked. He has started limping on the leg that he had the knee surgery on. It is full of arthritis, so it looks like he will be on Rimidyl from now on........he will have to have blood test done in one month to have his liver checked. I thought it looked like his knee was dislocated again......thankfully it wasn't!!
Last weekend I had an Aunt and Uncle show up that I haven't seen for a few years. They are from Utah, and decided to take a trip to see the Washington and Oregon coast. So they stayed with my Mom for 3 days. It was great to see them. They met some people from Deer Park (where my Mom lives) when they were down south in Arizona last winter, so they wanted to look them up too. We had plans on Sunday to take my Mom and my Grandma to see a musical. "Hello Dolly" was playing at the Civic Theatre and neither one of them had ever seen a live production. We had a great time. We all met and then had lunch and then spent the afternoon enjoying the play. "The Lion King" will be playing here starting in October. I think I will take my Mom to see it. She has done nothing but talk about it since the promotions began for it. And I must admit.....it looks like it will be a real treat to see.
I got in all 5 days of exercise the week before my surgery, then the Mon. and Tues. before the surgery. This week I have done Tues. and Wed. so far. Hoping to get 4 days this week. Didn't get Monday in because I had to be in town way to early!! Can't do the TBT for a couple of weeks, but can walk for now......not sure about right after the lasar surgery?? Will have to find out.
Eating has been pretty good. Have had a couple of slips, but nothing unplanned. Dh's birthday weekend always seems to be a slight variation of my normal eating, but it wasn't too bad. A bit of stuffing on Saturday, and then some biscuits and gravy and a couple of mini pastries on Sunday.....okay......that wasn't too good, but it could have been alot worse since it was a breakfast buffet. He just loves that Sunday morning brunch that they have up at the Chewelah Casino. I ended up being the lucky one on the slots that day!! The scale hasn't gone down in soooooo long......but I guess I am relieved that it hasn't gone up either!!!
I am sorry that I haven't had the time to read the post either......I don't know where my time is going. But I sure do feel like I am getting a lot done. I promise that I will try and get here tomorrow and read what has been going on with you all. Hope to get in some replies too. Sweet dreams.......

Good Morning! I was supposed to get up this morning and make some espresso for Tom with the organic coffee I bought the other day, but he did not wake me up! Hmm, perhaps my carrying on about waking me up for laundry had a positive effect on him! He said I was sleeping so peacefully, he let me sleep! My burned hand is much better today. The scratched one looks like it is healing fine, it just is very sore still. At least it is not red or swollen...
I have not had my coffee yet this morning, :coffee:so I am kind of ! (oh, wow...there are a bunch of new smilies!)
TEENSY: Good to see you...
I will be back later!

Morning all! So far the sky is a deep blue this morning, but if it is like every other day this week, we will have thunderstorms at some point during the day (usually when I'm out running errands).
Monet--You would have loved the "stinky cheese" store in Lucca. It was amazing, some of those cheeses looked like they had been around since the middle ages--and smelled like it too! But everything was so wonderful. Got some great parmesan reggiano there, but didn't want to try getting much of the other home, so what we bought we consumed there--YUM! Sorry to hear about your hand--have you tried one of those "Ove Glove" mitts? I haven't, but I hear they are supposed to work.
Teensy--Glad to see you back--let us know when you hear from the DR!
Heart--Sometimes we get so wrapped up in our short-term frustrations that we forget how far we have come. Those size 12 used to be a size what? You have lost an amazing amount of weight, so don't forget to remember your successes too!
Nat--I can't believe that Lane will be in pre-school. I love that age. I teach the 3-4 year-old SS class at my church and have the best time with the kids. The weekly weigh-ins do help a lot for me. Also having to count points for the food I do eat has made me concentrate on portion sizes, which was something I could never seem to do successfully. I've always resisted writing everything down, but now it doesn't seem so intrusive and I can really look back and see what I'm doing right and where I need improvement!
Tech--Thanks! I hope I can keep rolling!
Have a great OP day everyone!

Good Morning Ladies
Hope everyone is fine today.
We went to our weekly Elks club night last night and I did so well, I only had 3 glasses of water in lieu of wine or a drink.
Does anyone know if the veggie chips are legal? They are made from root vegatables and I didn't think they were legal. DD wanted some and I told her even if they wern't totally legal, they were better than regular chips. I know you have to count them as a starch.
Susan you have some good advice to Monet. Something we all should note. Congrats on the 3 lb loss. You are doing so great on WW. 42 pounds is awesome.
Kris, I wish I had your problem with the shorts. Hoping soon I will.
Laurie, if the weekend food gives you trouble, try to plan ahead and be prepared. Take your ww bread/buns with you. Take veggies so you don't eat the chips. Get a good motivating goal in your head and think about it when you are tempted. We can do this, we just have to really put forth the effort. It's all about what we want.
Nat, sounds like the girls will be busy busy this summer. That is good. School will be good for Lane. I think you and her butt heads and the time away will help. Isn't that a sign of same personalities? What did they do for your IBS? I think I have it too. I need to schedule a colonoscopy soon too. The crackers have High Oleic Canola oil.
Monet, sorry to hear about your had. You will be helpless with both hands hurting. That's a lot for cheese. I hate when Dr's charge for that stuff. My oncologist charges every time you walk in the door. I think it should be part of the treatment. They charge enough for that as it is.
Teensy, so good to hear from you. Wow you have been busy. Keep us posted on your results. Prayers for your niece.
Got to get some work done. Be back later.

Just got in from Walmart, where I went to get my oil changed. I walked the store for exercise while I waited. (wouldn't you know I forgot my pedometer?!) It was supposed to take 30 to 45 minutes, but it ended up taking over an hour. The last 15 minutes killed me...I wandered instead of walked, and found a pair of pants to buy, a shirt to buy, some stuff to use on the carpet, a couple cat flea collars to replace ones that have gotten 'lost', but I forgot the one thing I needed...color safe bleach! grrrr. :)
I am starving, so off to fix some legal lunch!

Howdy all:
I couldn't get on here earlier; I'm not sure if it was the site, or my computer.
I was still at 123# this morning, so I need to get it going in the opposite direction. I plan to go to the gym tomorrow and Saturday, and that will be 4 days for the past three weeks.
Dinner will be chicken Fajitas on Ezekial tortillas. The rest of my day has been pretty good.
Monet: I haven't heard of any doctor who charges for a follow-up appt. Good luck finding a new doctor; that is always difficult to do. Lane's preschool will be only two days a week for 2 hours & 45 minutes. I will use that time for two of my gym days. You know...your car was actually done sooner, they just knew you hadn't bought anything yet inside ;) .
Heart: I weigh first thing in the a.m. too, after I go pee. I used to weigh at night before bed too, but that got too discouraging and obsessive, so I only do a.m. weigh-ins now. Boogie weighs the same as Britt.
Teensy: Good to see your post! You have been plenty busy!! I am so jealous of you garden!!! I will be praying for good results from your surgery as well as a safe, productive surgery for your niece tomorrow. Good luck with the laser surgery. I want to have that done for hair removal. I hope Buddy is doing better soon!
Fillise: You are doing it all right! You are setting such an awesome example for us all. Controlling portions, eating healthy foods, journaling, weekly weigh-ins....you go girl!!
Jack: I think the veggie chips are alright. The pediatrician did mention that the apple doesn't fall far from the tree  . I do tend to be a little stubborn, I suppose. The doctor is doing nothing for the IBS right now. She mentioned that fiber helps regulate....I never get constipated, but get diarrhea often (tmi?). I just started taking a natural supplement called Bowelsoothe, and I think I am already noticing a bit of a difference. We will see in another few weeks.
Anyone heard from Cindylc? I know her dad was ill, and she hasn't been around for awhile. I hope she checks in soon. We also have some others MIA; where are you...if you are lurking, come by and say hello!!!
Well, I gotta go get dinner started.
Take care,
Nat

Just a fly by...dinner is simmering. I have a beef curry, whole wheat couscous, and chana dal with tomatoes and spinach. It smells heavenly in here..well, if you like curry it does. And I do like curry! :)
PANCHO: I think you are right about my car being done! I asked the girl because it was sitting there in the bay, and she told me they had not started it yet, but when I came back 15 minutes later, it was parked over in the parking area already...hmmm... CindyLC is a moderator on the Low Carb Cafe and has been active over there, I wonder if she ditched SB and has gone back to Atkins. Next time I cruise through there, I will leave her a message! No sign of the package yet! :(
Gotta go serve dinner...will be back soon!

I couldn't get on here earlier either, so I guess it was problems with the site. I have eaten too much today, and before I go any farther....I had 5 spoons of Spaghetti O's(Boogie's leftovers)! Why I did it, I don't know. So that is my confession. I've eaten too much over the course of the day. I just couldn't get satisfied. I'm blaming it on PMS since I'm due in 3 or 4 days. Here's what I've had today:
BF- plain yogurt mixed with 1 small peach and 7 cherries(1 spoon Splenda)
Lunch- 7 almonds, some leftover spaghetti(meat and sauce only), side garden salad(diet coke)
SECOND LUNCH(about 3:30 this afternoon!)- bacon, egg, and cheese sandwich(2 sl NSA bacon, 1 sl cheese, 1 med. egg, and 2 sl Nature's Own Wheat n' Fiber bread)
Supper- 1 baked chicken breast, butterpeas, cabbage(1 cf diet coke)
Dessert- 2 sf lifesavers and a sf popsicle(20 cal)
It would have been okay if I hadn't ate TWO lunches and of course, the bites of Spaghetti O's. Guilt...I wonder if working out 2 times today will help counteract the extra calories, lol. Oh well, it's over and done with, and it could have been alot worse. The kids really loved my butterpeas tonight. I made them with onion, a touch of garlic, lite salt, cajun seasoning, and the key ingredient...a tbsp of extra virgin olive oil. They had sf juice pops after supper. And they asked me if I would make them apple slices with PB tomorrow. I can't believe how just a few days of healthy eating has made a difference with them and their taste buds. Normally, it's "can I have a snack cake?" I plan on buying them some graham crackers and cool whip and freezing them(good tip, Pancho)for "ice cream" sandwiches this weekend. Well, I need to go...
Fillese- I used to be a size 24. So yea I've come a long way from where I used to be. But I guess I've been so long in this size(since last year), that I'm ready for change. But thanks for reminding me. I do have a tendency to be hard on myself when I don't do like I should.
Pancho- How old is Britt? Boogie's 5 and going to start Kindergarten this coming year(gulp).
Teensy- the only thing we planted this year is tomatoes, zukes, squash, and cucumber. Today we picked a few zukes and a couple squash. I can't wait until the tomatoes start producing, I'll be eating tomatoes everyday.

Dinner turned out pretty good! Chana Dal is a type of chickpea- usually split and looks like yellow split peas. The GI is very low. (it averages a GI of 8!) It can be used just like chickpeas, though it is smaller and sweeter than chickpeas. You can use it in hummus, or soups, or as a side dish, which is what I did tonight. I just sauteed some onions, spinach and spices, threw in a few chopped tomatoes, and the cooked dal. It turned out really good! We almost polished it off, but there is enough for lunch tomorrow! :s:
JACK: Are those veggie chips the Terra chips? I believe they include taro and parsnips, which are very high glycemic. The carrot and sweet potato are fine for an occasional snack, though.
FILLISE: I was checking on chana dal and found the GI of tapioca. Its 70. Interestingly, the glycemic load is only 12. What is very surprising is that Cheerios, which are considered ok on SB are 74, with a load of 16. Guess I will not be eating Cheerios anymore.
Its time for bed! Good night all, and sweet dreams!

Okay, everybody...check out my new goal for July 4. 155. I stepped on the scale this morning and I dare say the scale leaned a tiny bit passed 160 into the 150's, but not enough to declare a 159 on my tickers. Hopefully tomorrow.
Last night for dinner:
Grilled Chicken and grilled asparagus marinated in Mrs. Dash and Olive Oil...very yummy. And sauteed mushrooms and onions
Snack: SF cherry fudge chunk ice cream with whipped cream and almonds. It sounds...technically legal, but it certainly didn't taste legal. It was so friggen hot I didn't care much. It was cold and that was my motivator.
For breakfast today: Strawberries, coffee, turkey bacon :barf: and turkey sausage (which tasted great after the turkey bacon) with scrambled eggs. I've been having to force myself to eat at lunchtime because its been so hot I don't feel like eating. So, I had a big breakfast.
Well, it seems I'm never satisfied with the weather...either my nostril hairs are freezing on impact or my face is melting off from the heat. I swear, Spring is the shortest season of all up here...we seem to get a week of it and go from cold and wet to hot and humid with no time gravitate to the new climate. Kind of like going from Antartica and being drop shipped into the Tropical Rain Forest.
So, with that, I'm off to go plant a rose bush. I have a beautiful bud on it. Monet: Is it okay to plant a rose when she has a flower bloomed on it? Did I miss the window of opportunity?
Okay...gotta have my coffee before it gets too hot out for coffee.

Hello all my Sugar Buster friends. We are now back from our 4 week trip to France and Italy and I thought I’d check in to let you know I’m still alive.
FILLISE, I think you were leaving Italy when we were arriving. We spent 9 days there, partly for a cooking school and then a couple of days on the Liguiran coast walking the
Cinque Terre. We went to Lucca too but got lost in those maze of streets. Since they curve, we ended up going in the opposite direction than we thought, and must have walked 8 miles that day tromping around that walled city.
I gained 6 pounds on our trip. Most of that was probably from the Italian cooking school, where we made huge meals for lunch, which we ate, and then they served us dinner at 8, wich also was huge. We ended up just nibbling at dinner, because enough was enough. When there is that much food it is not as enjoyable as it can be.
The weather was good the whole time we were over there. We explored lots of little villages, drove on some harrowing (read--narrow!!!) roads. We decided that our driveway could serve as a two-way road in France. And the road through our little neighborhood here, although small and not a through street, is as wide as some highways in France. We had a wonderful time but were happy to get back home.
Re. my French, eureka! it worked!! I could actually speak it and they understood me. In fact, the woman at the ticket counter at the airport in France insisted in speaking French the whole time to me because she thought “I could speak French”! I found out, though, that it is still easier to speak it than to understand it. I know exactly what I’m saying :) but when they spoke fast, I could only get about 60% of what they were saying. I did discover that my French lessons helped tremendously with Italian, and I was able to actually communicate there fairly well in Italian.
So, now that we are back I have a summer project, and that is ME! I’ve walked every day since our return, and have eaten perfectly. I’ve been trying to incorporate some of what I learned about the cooking, both in France and in Italy, in the meals I’ve fixed. The big difference, of course, is the copious use of olive oil. They poured it like water over there, whereas here I measure it out by the spoonful. I just don’t need those extra calories, even though it is healthy oil. The other thing I learned is that their veggies and fruits are superior to ours. They are very expensive, but so so so tasty. The raspberries were huge and tasted like raspberries are supposed to--sweet. The canteloupes were like honey and meltingly good. There were so many varieties of lettuce and they actually had taste, rather than just texture. The chef that was our teacher in Italy told us that the key to good food is to have fresh and RIPE food. With things being picked green here and then gassed to get the color, that is very difficult for me to do. We have a good farmer’s market one day a week, but even the veggies there don’t hold a candle to what we were eating in France. One more example: the eggplant in Italy looked on the outside like the eggplant I can get at the store. But on the inside, there were no bitter seeds, In fact there were very few seeds at all. The ones I get here have TONS of seeds and have that bitter taste.
Delta lost our luggage on the way home. We checked 2 bags and neither of them arrived when we did. We finally got them last night, 2 days late. I think they got hung up in the Paris airport. I did get all our laundry done, though, so we now have some clothes to wear.
It’s nice to be back and let me know if I missed any big news on the board.

Happy Friday,
Sure glad it is Friday. It's been a long week. Our church summer picnic is this weekend. We will be working in the dining room tonight serving friend fish. I will eat a piece of fish, no bread, and some slaw. I am going straight from work and the only other alternative would be a hamburger or brat. My biggest obstacle will be the drinks. They have strawberry shortcake for dessert, and they use the juice from the strawberries that is left over to make strawberry dacquiries. Now they are my fav. But I am going to keep thinking about those shorts that I can't fit into and try to muster up some willpower to pass on them. I will miss the picnic on Sat as a co-worker is having a graduation party for her 2 boys. DH will still work, frying chicken all day long.
Nat, fiber doesn't help me at all. Wish I had your problem instead of mine.
Laurie, I don't think 5 spoons of spaghetti-o's is going to hurt. Just don't let it start a binge.
Monet, yes they were the Terra chips. I didn't think they were legal, but I guess they are still better than the regular chips. Glad you enjoyed your dinner. Didn't sound good to me.
Have a great day

Tech, we were posting at the same time. It has been 90 here all week. We too went from winter to summer. But I don't care. I hate the cold. Your dinner sounded yummy. I wll try the asparagus that way. Congrats for getting into the 150's. My goal is to be in the 160's by next WIW.
Gator, so glad you are back and had a wonderful trip. 6 lbs is not much for all that good food. I'm sure all your walking counter acted the food. We missed you.

Morning all! Looks like we have a tropical storm headed this way--which means lots of rain for the weekend. Just what we need--NOT!
BOB--According to the wether channel, it looks like ya'll are getting some of that rain now. Don't float away!
Jackie--Have fun at the picnic and do the best you can. It sounds like you are planning ahead. Doesn't Terra make a Sweet potato chip that is SB-Legal?
Gator--WELCOME HOME!!!!!!! Glad to hear that you had a good trip and the the French worked. I was surprised when we were in Italy how much of my HS and College French came back to me. I thought I'd forgotten it all. I have the Cinque Terre on my list for the next trip to Italy. I know what you mean about the tiny roads. We did a good bit of driving in the mountains a little north of Lucca (where my grandfather is from) and it was frightening being on the one lane roads with two-way traffic! We rented a house just outside of Lucca so we spent a lot of time wandering the winding streets. Lucca was just about our favorite city after Venice. If you go back to the board on the week of May 23rd (Ithink), I've got some pictures posted. I hear you on the produce and fruit--it was wonderful. The week we were in our house we cooked almost every night because it was so much fun to go to the market and then come home and be creative. I've never seen two-foot stalks of cerely before, but did there. What cooking school did you go to? I've thought about doing that too! I'm so glad you are back and that you had a good trip!
Tech--We have short springs here too. But I like summer, so I'm fine with that! I hope your rose bush is ok--I know nothing about that, but Monet has beautiful roses--I've seen them!
Monet--Chana Dal is supposed to be wonderful! I stay away from Tapioca because it is a pure starch--a thickener. I've seen higher GI listings for it, but don't remember where.
Heart--OK--do the best you can this weekend! Even if you aren't perfect, try not to go off the deep end. I look forward to the day when I'm into a 12!
Nat--One of the things I've been doing is upping my fiber intake--it seems to be helping me. My system can get out of whack at the drop of a hat--either way. I hope the supplement helps!
OK, must go get some work done now. I hope everyone has a good OP day and weekend!

Okay, all my southern coastal belles...although I'm no expert, I did take a course in meteorology in college and am an avid hurricane watcher. I'd love to get a job on one of those hurricane hunter airplanes...or just tag along just once!!
Although the wind speed has gone up a bit, the barometric pressure on Arlene hasn't dropped one bit since last night. My prediction is that she will remain a tropical storm when she makes landfall...but isn't this really early for a landfalling tropical system? I know the tropical season officially starts on June 1, but I hope this isn't a sign of things to come for the fall 2005 season. I don't think my mom would be able to handle loosing two campers (winter homes) in two years. I thought she was going to have a breakdown last fall when Charlie took out their trailer in Arcadia (just north of Port Charlotte). Seriously, I don't know why they don't just hitch the darn thing to their van and drive it back up north with them after last year.
Anyhow...that's my prediction on Arlene...she'll remain a tropical storm unless her BP drops below her current 1000...then all bets are off. I think the water is still too cool for a full-fledged hurricane...although I could be wrong.
Okay, back to housecleaning!! Kris

Good Friday!!!
I was at 121.5# this morning....yippee! I'm on my way back down. I actually ate too much for dinner (I was stuffed when done). I made two fajitas on Ezekial tortillas (chicken, red & green peppers, onions, 2% cheese, avocado, lite sour cream, pico de gallo sauce). I ate the first one, and then just picked the insides out of the second one.
I plan to take the girls with me to the gym in a few hours.
I have a confessions...I have been drinking 1 Smirnoff Ice Twisted drink on the weekend nights (1 on Friday, 1 on Saturday, and sometimes 1 on Sunday). They have so many yummy flavors (green apple, watermelon, black cherry, etc..). I do limit it to one a night and I drink it when I am preparing dinner. It's so refreshing. I have been tempted to buy some margarita and mudslide mixes, but haven't. I'll keep an eye to see if it affects my weight loss, but I don't think it has. I know the things that are contributing!
I am hooked on the pickled asparagus; they are so good. My lunch yesterday was grilled onions, zucc, squash, carrots w/ olive oil and seasonings, a sliced tomato and pickled asparagus. I ate so many of the veggies that I wasn't hungry for awhile. I know I should have some protein in there, but sometimes I do not want any. I ended up eating a boiled egg about an hour later. The totals over the course of the day is what really matters anyway, and I am sure I am not falling short on protein.
Heart: I thought I typed Britt, but meant Lane. Britt is only 47 pounds and is going into 2nd grade. Lane is already 37#'s and will be 3 next month. She is solid, but doesn't have any real fat on her body...just thick all over, especially in her thigh area. She is also very tall for her age; both of my girls are; they get that from their dad. I'm only 5'4"....my girls will outgrow me soon, and then I will be the runt of the family. Your "splurges" probably didn't add up to much, and I am sure the exercises will help a lot.
Monet: I have never heard of Chana Dal, much less seen it anywhere. I bought what I thought were snow peas for a stir-fry the other night, but they were much thicker and did not turn out well; they were stringy and tough. I think they were not labeled correctly, because I always remembered snow peas being thinner. I had to end up popping the peas out of them and throwing the outside away. I am sure you will have the package by the beginning of next week. I sent it "regular" post, so they are not rushing it at all (ha).
Tech: I so hope you see that 155# by July 4th!!! I hope you are correct about Arlene, for everyone's sake. I am praying for a mild hurricane/tornado season for everyone. Last year was tough on so many people.
Gator: WELCOME BACK!!! YOU WERE MISSED. It sounds as if you had a wonderful time. You are so committed and walk so much that you will drop that 6#'s in no time. It's great to know that all those classes have paid off, eh? You are right, even though Olive oil is a good fat, it is still fat and has the same calories as unhealthy fat. It is good for the heart, but won't help with those weight loss efforts. I usually have to check my good fat consumption when I stall or gain (too much flax meal, too many nuts, too much olive oil, etc...). I am so glad to hear that you got your bags back. I am sure you had some souvenirs in there.
Jack: Try to stay strong tonight; it sounds like you won't have too many good options. Careful what you wish for....there have been times when this diarrhea comes on so fast that I can't get to the bathroom on time (due to my other problems). It happened once when I was on the way to get Britt from school, and I had to call her dad to go pick her up; Thank God he was able to. It is so humiliating! I am going to schedule an appt. w/ a continence place this summer sometime and see if there is anything that can be done, due to the extended tear I had when having Britt. I know........ waaaaaay toooo much info.
Fillise: If I upped my fiber anymore, I'd be in the bathroom all day long. I already have 1-4 BM's a day, as is. Have a great day!
Well, I better get ready to get to the gym in awhile. Have a fantastic OP day and be good this weekend!!!
Take care,

Gator: Welcome back!! So glad to see your French lessons paid off!! I remember going to Mexico and asking someone "How much is this?" in Spanish and they launched into this Spanish shpeel and I'm like, "Huh?" I learned to ask how much in English so they knew that I didn't speak totally well and then they'd do their best to help me understand. About the only other thing I could say in Spanish was "Un coka, por favor." and then I'd get my coke and be on my way...that and that my birthday is November 4, but nobody seemed care...
Jack: To cook the asparagus that way, I put each stalk on two skewers for kabobs and line them all up like a ladder (the aparagus being the ladder rungs). This way they don't all spin around. You have to flip them with a spatula. I normally don't like aparagus, but eat it anyway because it's good for me...but I like it grilled...I saw it on Queer Eye for the Straight Guy once and decided to try it.
Monet: You continually blow my mind with the unusual things you cook. I wonder...do you ever make boneless bbq chicken on the grill? Or make spaghetti and dump the cold ragu sauce over the top and call it a meal? My ex-mother-in-law (well, I never actually married my dd's father, but anyhow...) is Italian and nearly fainted when she saw me make spaghetti and sauce that way. The hot spaghetti heats up the sauce just right for little kids...not too hot...not too spicy or complicated.
Anyhow...just had to share with you my yummy lunch...I took some plain yogurt, mixed in some frozen blueberries, a touch of splenda, a dash of vanilla flavoring and a handful of walnuts, then mixed in some grapes...it's sooo good...and cool on a hot day!!
Okay...gotta run...I'm avoiding cleaning my bathroom and straightening up. Kris

Just flying by...went to the church office this morning and did the worship guides, then sat and talked to a friend who helps sometimes for over an hour. When I got home, the mailman was dropping off a package for me. (Yep, Pancho, its here!) I ate leftover chana dal for lunch. Will do a full post and all replies later... here are a few that can't wait!
TECH: It will not hurt to transplant the rose with a bud on it. You can pinch it off if you want, but just be careful not to disturb the roots too much. It helps to use that transplant stuff you can buy...but I can't remember what its called right now! :( Keep it well watered, and it ought to do fine.
GATOR: Welcome back! We missed you! Sounds like you had a wonderful time. You did pretty well only gaining six pounds with all that great food in front of you all the time! I would have gained six pounds a DAY! :)

As I sit here it is pouring--the first rain bands from Arlene.
Kris--This is WAAAYYYY early for a tropical storm. You are right about the waters being too cold to really get a good hurricane going--especially since we had a really cool and wet spring. It will bring a little wind, but a lot of rain. We are at something like 200% above our rainfall average for the last three months so getting all this rain may bring some bad flooding in some places. Plus so many areas still have not recovered from last year's storms. The beaches along the gulf are still a mess--so no one wants to see this season pick up where last year's left off--right Gator?
Nat--I hear ya! No more fiber--LOL! Glad to hear the scale is moving back down.

TECH: Gosh, how did I miss your post! I do cook boneless chicken on the grill and call it BBQ, and once in a while I make hot dogs! I am really good at hot dogs- you take out the package, and hand them to Tom and say, grill these! Your recipe for spaghetti varies from mine a bit...my fav as a kid was what we called 'juicy spaghetti'. You fix vermicilli, drain it and add one small can of tomato paste and add a can or two of water mixed some in the empty can. We would have that with salmon patties, and since I did not like salmon, I ate the spaghetti! :) (yep, no wonder I have a weight problem! LOL)

Just another quickie----
Spent all day in town yesterday. Brandy's surgery went well. They ended up taking about a foot of intestine out. Hopefully she will be feeling alot better when she gets healed up. She had a really rough time yesterday morning. I feel so sorry for her when she is in pain like that. She is so young, and has the cutest, and brightest little 3 year old girl. And she hurts so bad that she can't do anything with Isabella when in so much pain. But we are hoping all that is over......they will keep up with the Remicade treatments once she is healed. Sorry to say that they upgraded her from mild Crohn's to severe Crohn's.
I am hoping to get back on here once I get my housework finished........washing bedding and cleaning up all the old blankets that kitty sleeps on out in the shop. It smells like cat out there, and I don't like it!! See you all soon.......

I couldn't get on yesterday so I gave up since I wasn't at home. Romeo is doing much better. He really wants out of the stall. He has been calling for the other horses to come and save him...LOL Hopefully after Robert finishes giving him the medicine we will let him back out in the pasture.
My wedding anniversary is in August and I'm going to do my best to quit sabatoging myself. It would be nice to fit in something pretty. Eating has been pretty good the last few days. Trust me, it's not easy with all the yummy foods I cook at mama's house. Exercise this week has also been pretty good. So I'm hoping this is a start of good things to come.
Monet...I'm so sorry that both your hand are hurt. Mama used to make us a snack called "red stuff"...LOL It was vermicelli and tomato sauce. It was mushy, totally gross and we LOVED it. :) Yeah on your pepper!! My first habeneros were totally mild. Even my caynne's have been mild so far. The last one was almost hot so maybe it was just a fluke that ALL my hot peppers were mild.
Teensy...praying for Brandy. That's a lot for such a little one to be going through.
Gator...welcome back. Your trip sounds wonderful. A cooking school would be so much fun.
Tech...I'm so sorry about your precious kitty. It's very hard when an animal isn't doing well. Usually I am very non attached but when Romeo went down my heart sank to my stomach. We've had him since he was about 6 weeks old and he doesn't realize he is a horse...he follows us around the pasture. Will give you a little nip if you don't pet him. And has the sweetest disposition.
Jack-K...480 for three weeks isn't bad at all. Especially when you are eating healthy. I think it cost at least a third more to buy good foods. I hope you see those 160's next week if not before. You have been working hard and deserve to see good results.
Susan...could ya'll share some of that rain? We are so far behind this year. My pond looks pitiful. My garden has done amazingly well considering the lack of water. It's been really hard on the cucumbers. Of course the okra doesn't mind at all. The hotter and drier it is the more it seems to grow. We don't have any shade to speak of here. Praying for those who are getting too much rain and are facing flooding.
Poncho...yeah on being down 2 pounds this morning. I know how good that feels after you have been up a while.
Heart...instead of thinking of it as two lunches you just had a really big snack. :) I hope today finds you in a much better mood. ((hugzz)) You are right about one thing...you have come a LONG way and for the most part have maintained that loss. That is totatlly awesome. I do know how you feel though. I pray every night that God will help me get back on track and get these pounds back off. Hang in there.
Bob...howdy. How are you doing?
Gotta scoot.
Love and hugs,
Crystle

Hi all, Im so sorry I havnt been posting. I have been reading though. My dad is in the final stages of his lung diease so we have been spending time there and helping with the yard and things around their house. Right now my sister and one of her kids are here visiting and getting some time in while he is still here. Her husband and other daughter come for a few days in a couple weeks.
Ive also been working ot again at work so my days are long. Its just been a struggle trying to read and reply to all the posts daily. I am apart of another board ( since sept 2003) and its about all I can do to post there.
Im sorry to not have posted at all over here. I will try and check in .
Im still doing good. Ive been strict keeping my fat % in the 30's for the past month and am down 5 pounds. So things are finally moving again.

Just a fly by. Heading out to the picnic.
Susan, I bought some of the sp chips too, but she opened the others first. Hope you don't get too much rain from Arlene. I have heard the hurrican season is supposed to be worst than last year. I hope they are wrong.
Tech, Wow, we have our own on-line metorologist. I'll give that asparagus a try.
Nat, Congrats on going back down. I didn't doubt you would. I just saw last night where Smirnoff or Bacardi has a low cal flavored drink. I don't think they will hurt you. Do those contain mail like wine coolers? 1-4 BM's a day (don't you love our topics), the low end would be my weekly total. No wonder you are skinny.
Teensy, glad all went well with the surgery. It is so hard to see little ones suffering.
Crystal, Sounds like you found something to work for. I know you can do it too. You are off to a good start. Remember, we are keeping each other accountable, (you, me & Monet).
Cindy, sending prayers for your DD to find some peace and comfort. Congrats on the 5 lbs. Keep us posted.
Have a great weekend. I'll talk to you Monday.

Fillise--Great Pix. I'll try to get some posted of our trip, but I'll probably have to e-mail them to Monet, because everytime I try to post a pix. it tells me that it is too large for posting.
I really enjoyed recognizing where your pictures were taken, even before reading what you wrote. The only one that I was not familiar with was the one on the beach. I recognized the Sistine chapel ceiling from books, but I have never been there.
Dinner tonight: Veal "scallopini", pan fried
Ratatouille, and sautéed leeks with wilted chopped fresh spinach. It was good.
Steps today 12500.

I hate to be the bearer of bad news for the gulf coastal chicks, but I've changed my prediction of Arlene. The Barometric Pressure had taken a significant dive of 10 mbs down since this afternoon. That is a big drop and the wind has picked up to 70 mph and my new prediction is that Arlene will be a cat 1 hurricane by the time she makes landfall. I haven't watched the weather channel to see if they're predicting the same scenario, but that's my guess by the drop in BP...which is the best predictor for a pick up in wind speed and strength. Freaky...so early in the season!!
Question for you guys living on the coast...every hurricane you see people lined up in droves buying plywood for the windows. Don't people save the plywood from storm to storm? I always wondered, "What happened to the plywood they all bought the last time a storm came in?"
Okay...off to be with the family till bedtime...
Kris
update: Okay...now I'm thinking Tropical Storm again. I don't know...my final prediction: It'll be a really windy day on the Central Gulf Coast and inland Alabama and adjoining states. That's a for sure...Kris

Kris,
Believe it or not, the people take the wood back to Home Depot and Lowes...I can't believe they give them their money back, but they do. Also, if you keep the wood, it warps...
It's nasty down this way..and it's moving toward Susan and Laurie....

Flying by. I just got in from the store. I got all the stuff to make the cakes for the wedding next Saturday. The mother of the bride is going to faint...just the cake stuff costed $80. She wants me to keep the food under $500 for 150? Dream on.... I agreed to do this when the wedding was going to be 60...now its 150 and I am trying hard not to feel put upon. When I got home, I laid out four large glad containers, and measured the flour, sugar, baking powder and salt into them for the 'bride's' cake. (its a glazed orange pound cake) I felt so smart! Its going to make mixing up all that cake so much easier! Just dump a container into the bowl and add the butter, eggs and milk. Yay me!
Breakfast was espresso with half and half, three eggs, and a couple pieces of bacon. I am about to start chewing on the desk, so I better go find some lunch! :)
It is gray and overcast here. The national weather service is predicting heavy rain for middle and north Georgia...which would be us. It should be worse tomorrow as Arlene moves in and pushes more rain our way.
Tom is sawing the wall away in the laundry room to start work on the downstairs bathroom. He has about decided that we should replace the nasty, cheap tub surround with a tile shower stall. I agreed, and guess who gets to go to the Home Depot class and learn how to do it? Yep...me. It sure would be nice if the 'kids' would help some, but they don't. Laura has not done any painting in a week. :(
Ok, lunch is calling. I will check in later! I hope everyone is doing well!

Hey guys. Boy has it been a miserable and rainy day here! Arlene is starting to kick hard now. The wind is roaring the attic fan. Besides my morning workout, all I've done today is sit and watch tv(and eat). BUT I have kept it 100% legal. Just too much food and salt. I got a pleasant surprise this morning when I weighed. 163. All the fluid weight gone PLUS 2 pounds down from last week. The bad news is that I don't think it will still be that tomorrow. If I'm puffy in the AM, then I won't weigh until Monday. I'm still up a few from my low, but I think I'm doing okay, staying on track. I still feel so guilty about what all I've ate today. So here's my menu:
BF- plain yogurt mixed with an orange(glass of sf strawberry lemonade)
Lunch- Fully loaded(2 sl. bread, 1 sl cheese, mayo, must., sf ketchup, onion, tomato)Plus legal coleslaw(made with mayo, onion, dill relish, milk, celery seed, splenda)
Supper- THE SAME THING AGAIN
Snacks- 1 sf fudge pop and 2 servings of sf candy(sf jolly rancher's and butter toffees)
SO as you see, I've ate a good bit today. I keep telling myself at least it's legal, but it's probably about 600 more calories than I've been eating daily this week. I'll try to watch it better tomorrow.
Gator- 6 pounds for 4 weeks vacation is not bad at all!

Um, forgot to finish the fully loaded...cheeseburger(duh). And they were pretty good sized too. Oh yea, I drank 1 diet coke with splenda and 2 cf diet cokes(plus lots of water).

The rain is really coming down here--ugh. Trust me, we don't need the rain. Crystle, I'd be happy to send it your way if I could.
Haven't done much today besides laundry and organize Italy photos. Couldn't do anything outside. Tomorrow will likey be similar.
Heart--Congrats on the loss. Would ot help to only weigh once a week? With all your fluid fluctuations it has got to be making you nuts to see the scale bouncing around every day!
Monet--Some people! Of course you could always just spend $500 on the food and hope the enjoy the chips and dips! :o
BOB--It's here now! Lowe's and HD LOVE hurricane season!
Tech--You just missed your prediction--it almost got there!
Gator--I've got some Lucca photos in case you get lonesome for those winding streets!
Jackie--The SP chips aren't bad. The first time I tried them I thought they were awful, but after I'd been doing the program for a year or so and was starved for some type of chip, I thought they were pretty good!
Cindy--My thoughts are with you. Stop in when you can. I hope your DD is comfortable and able to visit with everyone coming to spend time with him.
Crystle--I'll send some rain, you send some okra. Glad to hear that Romeo is better!:)
Teensy--I hope the surgery helps Brandy. That's a rough surgery for such a little thing. Let us know how her recovery is progressing.
better go scare up something for supper. it's late but I wasn't hungry before and am starving now. . . I know better.

I'm back! A little too much food and a little too much sun though! It defenintly is time to get serious here. I am planning to go to the store tomorrow and stock up on fish, chicken and fruits and veggies. It looks like we have several days of rain ahead and that will not help out on our plan of keeping up all the walking we did in Savannah! :^: Well, I'll go now, see ya later!

Hi all.
I just started Sugar Busters on June 6, and it was a rough week. The first two days especially. I've made a lot of mistakes this past week because those labels are so confusing. I've eaten things and later found out it was the wrong kind. I think I'll get better at it though.
My fiance will be starting tomorrow since he's still getting rid of all the illegal food at home. He feels it's a waste to throw them out and I don't blame him.
My boss passed down his Sugar Busters! book to me after he lost 25 lbs in about 2 months. It's the 1998 revision, which was also passed down to him. Is there any reason I should get an updated version?
Anyway, I hope you don't mind me asking a lot of questions about certain foods and brands.
Reading all your posts and weight loss meters in your signatures is a great motivation. You guys are awesome!
Ellen

Just a fly by! Today is Laura's birthday and I am making spring rolls, lion's head, and moo shu pork for dinner. I am SO tired though, I really would like to go lay out by the pool and enjoy the off and on sunshine. :( Not today!
We went to see Miazaki's new film last night. I ate some popcorn. :o
My internet was down all night and this morning. It does that when it rains. It rained a lot last night, due to Arlene, but its somewhat sunny now.
PEASY: Welcome! Its great to have you join us! I don't think you need a newer version of the Sugarbusters! book. Its such an easy program to follow, and while the updated version had some good info in it, it was not all that different from the earlier version. We certainly do not mind questions! In fact, we love them! Jump in, ask away and make yourself at home! Where do you live? A number of us live in the southeast... Sometimes its helpful to know what stores and brands you can get. :) I have been doing Sugarbusters for a while now...my husband is on it for cholesterol and triglyceride levels too. My kids are grown, but two of them still live at home and will eat what is put in front of them, so that helps a lot! :)

The sun came out--yeah!!!!!
I'm making a simple, but tasty salad for dinner tonight. I had this the last night I was in Italy and it was wonderful. All it is is salad greens (whatever kind you like), some tender steak cut into strips, shaved parmesian cheese and a dressing made out of olive oil and red wine vinegar. Belle and I had steak last night (I have never seen a cat as gonzo over beef as Miss Belle). Before I served it I cut it in half for tonight's dinner. This is what focus on portion control will do--before I would have just eaten the whole thing (it was 12 ounces).
I also have to tell you about my new favorite snack. Laughing Cow lite cheese wedges and whole wheat crackers. The swiss is really spreadable and on a single serve pack of the WW crackers (South Beach) it makes for a good light snack!
Monet--tell Laura that I said "happy birthday!" Tell the rest of your family to let you have some quality time by the pool!!!!!
Peasy--WELCOME! It takes a little while to learn what you are doing on this WOE, so don't be too hard on yourself. We all made some newbie mistakes--and even after doing this for a while we still misjudge things from time to time! Reading all those labels is very time consuming at first, but then you begin to know what you should and should not eat and it becomes second nature! We will help you anyway we can.
Thin--Did you have fun in Savannah? It is a beautiful city--and definatly not diet friendly!
Tech--We survived and the sun even came out today. Once it made landfall it broke apart pretty quickly. We got a lot of rain, but not as much as feared!
I hope someone gets on the board to read this tonight!
