South Beach Diet - The Weekend - June 4th and 5th

View Full Version : The Weekend - June 4th and 5th

06-04-2005, 08:09 AM
Well, the Doggie Alarm clock went off at 4:40 this morning so I didn't get enough sleep again. I was considering putting them in the kennel for an overnight so I can get some solid sleep but know darn well I'd still be awake with the sun.

Thanks for all your good wishes yesterday. :grouphug: I am actually rather relieved to let somebody else look after Harry for a day or two. I know that sounds awful but it's kind of nice to be "just me" this morning and not have to fret about bloodtesting, breakfast, bed changing, etc.

I'll be going in to the hospital after lunch today and am going to spend the morning doing some more house purifying, might get to the library and might even get some planting done. I am going to be as careful as possible with food which is not a problem because the hospital food sucks bigtime! Even the nurses say that!

Anyhow, have a great weekend. Whatcha got planned? :cofdate:

06-04-2005, 08:34 AM
Morning Ruth!

Well I am very frustrated...VERY VERY! i am doing everything right and I am not losing ANYTHING? So what gives?

So I cant decide if I am not eating enough..or too much..My heart says I am prob not eating enough....
I have added Pilates into my everyday routine now....and making sure I get at least an hour in everyday......*SIGH*

what is everyone up to this weekend???

06-04-2005, 08:36 AM
Hi Ruthie!! I hope Harry makes a fast recovery! Do watch the hospital food....when my mother was first in the hospital in Jan, I gained back all the weight I lost on phase I & then some - ugh. I think I was doing some major stress eating as welll! Take care of you!!
I'm off to work today - ugh! It's going to be nice & I have to sell clothes today - oh well gotta pay the bills!
Have a great weekend!

06-04-2005, 08:37 AM
HI angelshine!!!

06-04-2005, 08:40 AM
HI soon2bfab!!! we are all early birds huh ;)

06-04-2005, 08:54 AM
Ruth, I'm so glad that Harry is in hospital. You know what I mean. He'll be well looked after, and you'll get a much need rest. I hope!
You take very good care of yourself... hear me? I love you... :grouphug:

Hi Angelshine!

Soon2b, sounds like you had a great time yesterday. :) Gay men make the best friends for married women.

I'm going to a garage sale, but I'll be back later...

06-04-2005, 09:00 AM
Ellis, don't buy a garage. There isn't room in your lane! It'd have to be four feet in from the lot line and you'd loose part of your new kitchen.

Fab, I just don't eat the crappy hospital food. When H. was in there a few years ago, I took him lunch every day and dinner sometimes. Sorry you have to work this weekend.

Angelshine, you have already lost EIGHT pounds, girlfriend! That is a good percentage of what you want to ditch. Be patient - your body is doing a re-org!

06-04-2005, 09:09 AM
Good morning all.It is still rainy and cloudt here in Florida,Yuck
Ruth I hope you get some good rest or else you will be sick yourself. Hope you Hubby is much better when you get to hospital. At my house it is usually me the one in hospital.
Hospital food is either very good and you eat too much or very very bad and you fill up on junk food to make up for it.And sometimes the vending machines just call your name.
angelshine90 I was very frustrated when I first started SB as hubby was losing so good and me so slow. But I finally decided that 1/2# Every week would add up and I do feel better eating the SB way. I am doing a combo Phase 1 and 2.More 1 than 2. My biggest carb I brought back on a regular basis is fruit(apples/oranges) and fat free mini bag of popcorn. I still do not eat white potatoes, pasta bread or rice. I have fixed Ronzoni wheat pasta a few times. But as a side dish not the main meal. I try to stick to good carbs like sweet potatos. I have found that my craving for other foods has decreased(like chocolate) I had a great cheeseburger at a restaurant last night with no bread or potatoe. My side was mushrooms. Restaurants are very good about special requests. As soon as I say no bread they know it is coming.HaHa
Well I have to get a shower and head out to my art class. Have a good day all

06-04-2005, 09:56 AM
Morning all.

Ruth, I'm sorry you couldn't get more sleep but I'm glad you're getting some emotional rest. I didn't realize you had to do so much for him.

Angleshine, to repeat what everone told me...hang in there it will come off.

Me, I finally saw the scale move down a pound. dd is in a perticularly sensitive mood today. I can see I'm in for a long day.

06-04-2005, 10:00 AM
Good Morning Ladies!

Ruthie: Hope your Harry makes a speedy and full recovery! And don't feel guilty about handing over care giver responsibilities. Those are not selfish thoughts. We all need time to replenish our spirits lest we give give give till we are spent, become crabby, crotchety and resentful! :goodvibes

Angelshine: I know it's frustrating when you seem to be doing all the right things. I've been entering my food and activity everyday in to help me. I'm only into week 2 of PH1 and my scale has stalled. I know I'm definitely not eating enough. I barely make 1,000 calories a day- but I'm not hungry.

Hello Ellis, Eleni and Soon2bfit! :grouphug:

Me: Well I'm officially unemployed - and couldn't be happier! DH and I are moving to North Carolina sometime this summer if all goes as plan. I had been commuting into the Bronx and Yonkers for the passed 2 years and the 3.5 plus hour daily commute was extremely draining...Up at 4:30 out the door at 5:30 - in at 7, and out at 6, and home by 7:30 each day didnt leave much time for anything but getting ready for the next day .... :stress: So, my focus will be on me getting healthy - and getting the townhome up for sale .. But before that , I'm taking a few days and going up to see my DF in Scranton. I'm looking forward to sitting in her hot tub, playing Scabble and just doing fun GF things!
Have a great day all!

06-04-2005, 10:29 AM
Mornin chicks! I have been up since 7:30 with the phone ringing! DH and I are takin the bike out today for a lil while. I gotta get ready he's gettin ill! lol Just wanted to say hey and have a good day all! I'll check in later.

Good morning! Sorry to but in like this but I need some help!!!! I am on the beach again and I am looking for some support. Problem is I do not know how to get connected with the support. I am a mom of two (3 and soon to be 5) I stay at home with my children after quitting my RN position in Labor & Delivery when my first was born. I love being at home with them. I am thinking about home schooling this coming year. So if someone can direct me to how this site works. Thanks :) :)

Morning chicks!

Well I almost did it. The shy guy was sitting at a table with all his buddies and I didn't want to walk up there and embarrass him so I wrote a note on the back of my business card and the waitress is going to give it to him for me. He usually golfs every day on the weekend so I told her just to pick an appropriate time and give it to him. So I guess I just threw the ball in his court. I had some winos and fish for dinner. I managed to stay OP and even in my caloric range for the day. Due to eating very little during the day so I could have the winos at night.

Ruth - Get some rest!!! My prayers are with you. We actually have a hospital that has a great cafeteria here.

Ellis - I think I may hit a garage sale or two today too! Depends if I can get my wine headache moving fast enough cause I have a graduation party at 2.

Angel shine - The last 10 are the hardest to lose. Hang in there.

Bami - Have a fun ride.

Hotmom - You have come to the right place. You will get all the support and help you need here. Just try to get the daily at least once a day and it will keep you motivated! WELCOME to the beach!

Shatzi - Congrats on the unemployment! After reading your schedule - I would be glad to be unemployed too!

Everyone else - Hi

06-04-2005, 02:36 PM
Hi everyone,

Ruth-sorry to hear about Harry, but glad you get a little emotional recharge time.

Schatzi-enjoy your unemployment. I, too, am unemployed as of last Thursday :D , at least until I pass my Realtor test next week :write: . ( I live in Raleigh, by the way, so any ?? you have about the place I can help with...)

Hotmom- big welcome! this is an awesome site, everyone is very supportive.

Angel--hang in there, you don't have a TON to loose, and so it will come off a little slower, especailly those pesky last few.

Very low energy today, pulled a muscle on my neck/shoulder (trapezius?) decided to "start" P2 since I'd been doing P2 cheats since about Wed. But then enjoyed a whole chocolate bar with my latte was 78% cocoa and some of the profits went to support the endangered American bat population. ......I know, not a good excuse.....and it was melting in the car......Anyway...I think DS is feeling better. Got home yesterday and were sitting on the couch, suddenly *urp* like five times. Then again about an hour later. Then at about 3 am but the poor tummy was empty :( Has has about 2 sippy cups of milk, and no appetite today, but in a good mood. I can hear him doing something in my bedroom, but it doesn't sound dangerous and he's singing, so I guess he's okay.....well, I should do laundry since I made a special trip to the store to get more least the sun is shining but it's really humid so I don't even want to go out there....I'm in one of THOSE moods where nothing would please me...have a good weekend, all (and I do mean that!) :)

06-04-2005, 02:52 PM
Hey Chickies!

HotMom...Welcome to our lil piece of paradise! lol You are in the right place.

Well we had a nice lil ride up the mountain and back. Now DH is out pickin up sticks in the yard from the rain we have had. He has let the dog off and his first stop was my back deck where he decided to hike and whiz on a limb that is layin there! I told DH he WILL clean that off! lol He is gonna mow the front and then I will put my new Home Interiors sign I just got out in the yard. I have only had it for about 3 weeks now waitin for DH to put it up for me but he says I can do it myself! I hope I can now that my knee is gettin better if not I will get DS to help me tomorrow when he gets home. I wouldn't dream of askin DH! Guess what the D stands for! hahahahahaha Well I need to get some laundry done. Nobody home today but us two. I need to dead head my flowers and water them I'm sure. It'll be a putter day for me I think. I better enjoy it since I start workin soon. It'll be so odd gettin up and goin to work. I'm sure I will be ready for it to be over after 4 months. I don't know if I would like to go back to work fulltime. I enjoy stayin home hangin with the babes on the beach! lol

Anchor....Keepin my fingers crossed for the cutie to call! See you should stop with the winos and you won't have the weadache! lol

Have a good afternoon all!

06-04-2005, 03:09 PM
Happy Saturday, gals! I've been up since 5 and at the race location since 6:30. There was a ton of walking even before the race started. The last 5K I did in 58 minutes. This one was 39 minutes 45 seconds but I also started closer to the front of the pack. I had a great time. I did eat a half a sandwhich on wheat that was probably not 100% whole wheat but I avoided the hot Krispy Kreme donuts they were giving out as well as all the juice, popcicles, Starbucks stuff and other non-OP things. I did have a banana (or two) :) The weather turned out really nice. We had a good breeze and a little misty drizzle to keep it cooler. It sure isn't cool out there now.

Anyway, as I was driving home it occurred to me that I could still make my Powerflex class so I did that too. I am going to be SORE tomorrow but it was worth it.

Hotmom - Most everyone posts in the daily. We've gotten to be one big support group. You can also start your own threads with specific questions that you have. If you do find a close buddy, you can always PM (private message) each other. Good luck on the beach! This is really the best way to eat.

06-04-2005, 03:48 PM
Bart, WTG! Great job of staying on plan.

06-04-2005, 04:02 PM
Good afternoon all!!

I don't have time to respond to each of you individually (went shopping this afternoon and now have to clean the house because DBF's parents are coming over tomorrow for a cook-out)... but I've read all your posts... those of you that are having a rough time as of late are definitely in my thoughts. And to those of you that are doing well and staying OP - keep it up!!

Just a thought for today - the scale has gone down again for me today.. and to be honest, when I went to visit my parents last weekend, I didn't stay OP very much at all. I don't know how I'm still losing weight, unless I'm still just eating smaller portions than I used to and also being more active than I used to be. I think it's easy to keep saying that you should stick to a diet word-for-word/food-for-food, but I've found a happy balance somewhere between the two. I have one cheat meal a month (not overboard, I just *gasp* have a piece of bread or *gasp* split a light dessert with someone. I also don't always get in all the veggies that I should, although I try. But then again, I know that some of you that follow the diet almost religiously have great results, too.

I think we ALL need to remember that we are all different and what works for some, might not work for others. So if someone else's suggestions, menu plans, exercise routine doesn't work for you - DON'T GET DISCOURAGED!! Just keeping trying out one new thing at a time until it all falls into place.

This is the lightest that I have been in the past 8-10 years, so I know I must be doing something right. I have more energy than I've had in a LONG time. And for the first time in a very long time I bought Misses XL clothing today. Talk about an ego boost!!!

I wish each and everyone of you the best of weekends and hope that you find the blessings hidden in each and every day we're given.

Love ya all!!

06-04-2005, 04:25 PM
Hi Ruth I admire you and wish for you many more days of "freedom", and there is nothing wrong with feeling "relieved" when u get help. Harry is very blessed to have you.

06-04-2005, 07:00 PM
Cynthia, what a lovely thing to say to Ruth. You hit it right on the head. :)

Ellis, don't buy a garage. There isn't room in your lane! It'd have to be four feet in from the lot line and you'd loose part of your new kitchen. Ruth, darling, did you deliberately spell "lose" incorrectly? ;)

Eleni, sounds like you've really got your eating under control! Good for you, girl!! :hat:

Lydia, yip yip on the pound!! :cheer:
I've had two bad days. :( I know what it is... I'm physically and mentally drained (see post from yesterday), and I've got my darned period. I'm trying to get LOTS of sleep, because I know I'm eating because I'm tired.

Schatzi, what a commute!! :( You poor girl. I'm very happy for you that you're getting some respite. You'll certainly enjoy yourself with your friend, and you deserve it. :grouphug:

RNMom, I hope you're having a wonderful time on your bike ride!! :ebike:

Laurie, thanks for the hugs, hon. :) Hey, 210.5!! You skinny chick, you!! :cloud9: Sounds as though you've got a wonderful weekend ahead of you... enjoy yourself! (not too much though, eh?)

Gofishin', you're so sweet. :grouphug:
Too funny about the garage sales... I hear ya! There weren't as many sales as we thought there'd be (good thing), so I got away with spending only about $15. I got a cool bag for court, an "old" wooden clock with a hidden "box" in it, two nice little wicker lamp shades, and one of those wax stamp thingys with my initial! :)

Hotmom, welcome!! Like Amy said, here is the place to be! :) Just jump right in... we're all in this together. :grouphug:

Amy, have we a photo of you anywhere? If not, I insist on seeing one. :lol3: You must be one HOT BABE to get hit on so many times. And by so many younger men!
I'm glad I'm not single, because you'd be making me feel VERY inferior!

Soon2b, thanks for your good wishes for my friend yesterday. :grouphug:

Kissy, you're in Hawaii! You're very fortunate to have such a good relationship with your Mom. :)
In case you read this (although I'm sure you're flat out on the beach right now  ), I'm saying prayers for your dear grandmother. :grouphug:

Beach Bum, you are SO smart to get good mattresses! That's something we should all do... go out and get new, good ones!
We sleep on a double. It's awful. :tantrum: We can't get anything bigger up in the attic. Although someone suggested getting two singles and putting them together... we may do that in the future.

Mamacita, so glad you're back, sweetie. :grouphug:
I'm so sorry about your knees. :( Eliptical machine! :yikes: Oh, lordy. The killer exercise machine. :lol3: Yes, that'll DEFINITELY build up strength in your knees. You take care, hon.

Barb, as always, I am so impressed with you. A 5K!? That's fantastic! I'm glad it went well, hon. You're such a giving person.
GOOD LORD! You went to Powerflex afterwards!! :fr:

Mamaeli, ouch! Have you got someone who can give your neck/shoulder a massage? Try not to tense up, and take some muscle relaxants if you've got them. :grouphug:
I'm glad your DS is getting better! I was talking to a friend about that yesterday. Isn't it bizarre how children always seem to throw up in the middle of the night. :?: And I hate to generalize, but put up your hand if it's MOM who gets up in the night, and not DAD!

Bamie, DON'T go back to work! We'll miss you too much!

Sassy, you're doing so well!! :hat: I'll BET you feel good. I'm so happy for you.

Ruth, you must be back from the hospital. Are you into the gin now, or are you still downing the whisky? :D
How did Harry look? Give him a gentle hug from me. :grouphug:

It's hot and muggy, my kitchen (in fact, my entire house) is dirty, and I'm tired and grimy and too hot to clean. To put it more succinctly, I'm in a foul mood. :lol3:
Where is the snow and cold weather when you REALLY want it?

06-05-2005, 07:16 AM
Just popping in after a good night of zzzzz. Harry slept through my four hour visit yesterday so I'm remembering to take a book today.

Yes, Ellis, I did have a gin and diet tonic when I got home and then fell asleep on the couch and didn't wake until Rob called at 9! I had some shrimp and chicken (no veggies! :( ), watched a bit of TV and was in bed before 10:30.

Church this a.m., perhaps a bit of gardening and then off to the hospital. I'll pop in later.

06-05-2005, 07:41 AM
Morning Chicklets!

Ruthie- any update on Harry... and how was your day of freedom?

I agree with you! What works for one doesn't work for all...sounds like you found your balance Good 4 U!!

[B]Lydia: Yahoo Buckaroo, keep that scale headin' south!

Ellis: Hope your feeling a bit more peppy today!

Hotmom, Cynomkis: Welcome aboard!

Beach Bum: Nothing worse then sleeping on a lumpy bumpy mattress, Wishing you sweet dreams on your new one!

Mamaeli: Thankyou! Yes, I felt like a lost 20 pounds (off my shoulders that is) when I handed in my resignation letter! I'm looking forward to a new chapter in life in NC. DH has been there alot for work, and we are looking for milder climate in our older years..And, Try some moist heat or bengay on your neck... it helps for me when I get a "crick" in mine.

Barb: WOW.. You're inspiring me to increase my walks. I've been having trouble getting motivated...

Anchors Aweigh: I'm keeping my fingers crossed for you too!

A big hello to everyone else!

Me:Very Weird, yesterday I was cleaning the house. I stopped to have some Turkey and LLC for Lunch - and POOF , felt like someone pulled the plug on me.. Drat tht Triptophane (?) in the Turkey... Told DH I'm gonna take a Nap.. at 3pm-- didnt wake up till 1 in the morning!!!! I guess my body needed I pack up "the girls" ( My furbabies Darby and Casey) and head up to Scranton.

Have a great day all!

06-05-2005, 07:57 AM
Ruthie -- I guess our posts "crossed in the mail" Glad to hear Harry rested comfortably.. ! Enjoy your day!

06-05-2005, 09:01 AM
Good morning Schatzi and Ruth....*ruth glad to hear Harry is doing alright.

...For me...I am really trying to not be upset that the scale went up 2 pounds...since last in reality I am not 141..I just was for a split second....*SIGH* i am so upset I just feel like giving up.......but instead of getting all bent out of shape..I am going to have some coffee...and do my weight rountine. AND I am going to start writing down EVERYTHING that I eat...and begin to REALLY watch that carb intake...I think I will only allow one carb back into my diet....Oh and I am trying to drink water like a fish.....but I have to make a trip to the bathroom like EVERY 5 minutes! UGH!

alright well hope all of you have a great Sunday!

06-05-2005, 09:30 AM
Angel, you hang in there, girl! :grouphug: Don't you dare give up... we're rooting for you! :cheer:

Schatzi, too funny about the "nap". I can relate to that!
I'm sure your body needed the rest... I hope you have an energetic day!

Ruth, sounds like you needed that nap, too. :grouphug: Too bad those hospital beds are so narrow... you could crawl in with Harry while you're there. Multi-tasking, you know? :D
Thinking of you, sweetie... keep us posted. Love to you and Harry and the Girls... xoxo

I'm feeling a little more energetic this morning. So far. Touch wood. It's hot and muggy... I'd better get some things done before it gets even warmer...
Talk to you later, girls (and guys?)... have a wonderful day!

06-05-2005, 09:35 AM
That's the spirit Angelshine! I decided to NOT weigh myself everyday. Just seems if I do and it's up I obsess over it all day- and it does effect my mood. :(
I've been entering everything I eat in It really opened my eyes to how much Fat I eat, and helping me to balance my protein/carbs etc.
Chin Up Angelshine, you're on the right path ! :grouphug:

06-05-2005, 11:14 AM
Morning, dd and I slept in. Of course we didn't get to bed until. The loss is still there YES! and I realised that it is TOM for me. Saturday was a good day. It turned sunny and warm.

06-05-2005, 11:33 AM
 Hello to All!

Ruth: It's good to hear you got much needed rest last night. I hope Harry is doing better today. Keep us posted.

Barb! WTG on the 5K! You dramatically beat your old time. Was that your first race? Yesterdfay I ran my first 5K! It was sooooo exciting being there with all these other runners. There were 3500 women (it was a women's run). I bet there were alot of runners at yours since it is in Texas! We had apples, bananas, OJ after! I can't believe they had Krispy Kreme there. Were they the sponsor's (ironic if soo, mine was sponsored by a bakery!) :lol3: I ran in 34 minutes! My goal was to do it in less than 45. But when you are in the group the energy is contageous and it carries you along.

Schatzi: Absolute congrats on your unemployment and move. Your commute was horrible! How did you have any time to be you or see your family. I thnk you will be very happy in your new state.

Angel: You've lost lots of weight. you are slowing down partly because you are closing in on your goal and also if you are building muscle it weighs more.

Mama: :lol3:

Hi to everyone else! I have a tough time keeping up with this forum. I've been on my computer for over and hour! I'm really slow at forum reding and navigating. How dod you all do it? Is there a secret I've missed! :)

One last thing. After the race they had this health fair and I had my body fat mesured. I am 34 % fat! Can you imagine!!!!! At least I can float well! But that's 54 pounds of fat one my body! Wow. My blood pressure was low! It had been borderline 129/86 and yesterday it was 100/60 !!!!!!!!

Got to go get stuff done! Happy day to all chickies!!

06-05-2005, 11:34 AM
Ruth - I'm glad you got a good night's sleep. You need to rest when you can.

Morning to everyone else! As usual I am rushed. I was up from 3:30 - 5 working and then dozed until Brian came in at 6:45. I had to do another hour of work but then I am free for the day. I still need to eat breakfast but then we are off to church. DH and Brian will be building train modules this afternoon until I pick Brian up from it so we can go work at the animal shelter from 3-5 this afternoon.

I got grocery shopping done last night since I didn't know when I would be done working today so I might even find some free time in there.

06-05-2005, 12:02 PM
A quick drive by for me. DH is out in the yard waiting for some direction from me on my secret garden. DS comes home today and my niece goes home. Not much else planned. I'll be back later! Oh the pic is a flower I picked out of the yard yesterday! It is so perfect! I just had to share! lol

06-05-2005, 12:09 PM
Morning all!

Sorry -- I keep as far away from the computer on the weekends. Even did some swimming yesterday :) Was out volunteering at DC's Youth Pride and was ut in the sun for a bit :)

I had a slip last night...

After eating with HB (see my JEALOUSY post) we went to Ben and Jerry's and I got a small scoop of Sugar Free Vanilla Cherry. I bought it and had a small spoonful and thought it was gross. Then I remembered CHERRY!!!!!!!!! and I am not allowed fruit on Phase 1 so I actually dumped it.

I thought about the worth of messing up my perfect week and thought $3 was worth dumping

Today I am taking HB to see a teeny bopper movie (I had reviewed the book that the movie was based on before it was popular and made her read it too :) ) and stopping at CVS first to get some Soy Nuts you all are talking about to sneak in.

HB wants Milk Duds

Morning all!

Went to the graduation party yesterday and the young one wasn't there. I was relieved! I really don't want to start that whole thing up again.

I ate badly but I ate smally  Is that a word? I had two beers, 4 pieces of kielbasa, .25 cup of baked beans and veggies and dip. I stayed for two hours and the adults were well on their way to partying all night and I just wasn't up for it. Those stupid folding chairs tear up my back and by the time I got home I was muscle spasming. Even with all that smally stuff the kielbasa jumped my calories for the day over what I was supposed to have. Luckily I was running in the negative so I had some to spare.

Ellis - I don't think I ever posted a picture of me. The only ones that I have are from when I was 236. I don't think I'm all that great looking. I think I'm average. I'll see if I can dig one up.

Bami - Nice new flower. Give the DH some lovin! No call from shy guy yet.

Glad everyone is having a good weekend. I am myself. I was so amazed at the meeting I had to go to yesterday I was not even wanting the chips, dip, and cake.
Got some sn today while Stinker was in his pool, did some laundry, and off to the gym shortly.

BAck from the hospital. HArry has 6 broken ribs! No wonder he couldn't sit up in bed. The surgeon is going to see him tomorrow.

I am having a gin and diet tonic on the deck with my Girls and then will BBQ a steak and some grilled veggies for my dinner. Early bed tonight! Turned down three - count 'em! - dinner invitations tonight! I love my friends!

Oh poor Harry! He must have been in some aweful pain! Why does he need to see a surgeon? I didn't think they could do anything about broken ribs. Take care of yourself! Friends are great!

Warning: lots of :blah: :blah: :blah: and a little :dunno:

An end of the weekend check-in.......went to church and then sat around the house all day being lazy, read the end of a novel, made dinner, read Sunday's feeling kind of restless now. Maybe will go for a walk when DH gets home (driving my van with the stroller inside.) DS is taking a looooong nap. My shoulder feels pretty much better, can move my head almost all the way to the right. Feels so weird to know I don't have to wake up early tomrorrow, plan lunches tonight, or make sure that all laundry is done for the week. (Which is good, because the I think my dryer is almost dead--it's taking a least two cycles per load, almost two hours to dry... :( ) Have been craving big time......craving? don't know if that is the right word...probably "wanting to eat" would be trying to figure out why. Anxiety about not having taken my test yet? About not having a "job"? Bordeom? I can tell I'm "at risk" as I would call my students. Gave into myself and made the bean chocolate cake with peanut butter cream cheese frosting last night. Not a good idea. Only one piece went down the disposal, and DH's response was "this is cake...hmmm" and DS said "cake, mommy? yucky!" But like I said, only ONE piece went down the disposal. Could be hormonal, as my cycle will start in a couple of days. Beside the fish, green beans and brown rice, I've had SF jello, a fudgesicle, water, and crystal light and bocaburger with cheese and tomato. Hmmmm. this is turning into more a journal. I'm trying to focus on my successes---the khakis that fit, the sweatpants that were too tight now look good ( as far as sweats go,) the denim skirt I wore to church that was resting more on my hips than my waist. I don't want to ruin this.

Has anyone seen the poster for Mr. and Mrs. Smith? Can't say I'm much of a fan of Brad Pitt and Angelina Jolie, but wow! her legs! I'm envious.

So let me focus on someone other than myself!!!!!

Ruth---oy yoy yoy. 6? Poor man, poor you. You are so in my thoughts! Enjoy what sounds like a lovely meal tonight, too. :balloons:

Ellis--glad to see you're feeling a little more up. I hear you with the humidity...too bad we don't have fairy cleaning godmothers :wizard:

Bamie--The flower is absolutely beautiful, beautiful dahhling!

To all you 5K'ers: You certainly have my respect. :strong: :bravo:

Jenne-way to resist! I'm proud of you! :cheer:

Anchor--one word "smally" :D

Wenchy--4 lbs! Hooray! :encore:

ILoveMyCat - Krispy Kreme was just one of many sponsors. The company I work for was the main sponsor and part of the run was through our campus. We had over 700 people on Team EDS alone. I read in the paper today that we had over 10,000 in the race. That is actually small compared to the Dallas Komen run that I ran in October. It had over 40,000! I got lots of samples of Crystal Light Lemonade To Go. My son is loving it! It is really helping him to drink his water but I bought a box today and they are really expensive! I actually made him Koolaide with Splenda and he like that too.

We had a wonderful time at the animal shelter. Brian got to feed the goats and clean the rabbit cages as well as help with the cats and dogs. They finally had a Shitzu so he could actually walk a dog (with me holding the end just in case). Most of there dogs are huge. Even before we started this he was saying he wanted to be a veterinarian when he grows up so this will be a good exposure to a variety of animals.

Barb: what a sweet son you are raising!

We have the Komen run too, but I think it attracts about 3,000 runners! I knew everythig in Texas would huge!!!

Did you like the spirit of everyone arond you? It was so excitiing!
