100 lb. Club - Weekend Challenge Anyone!
06-03-2005, 03:03 PM
We forgot to have one last week. I know there are a lot of us still having a hard time on the weekends. So how about joining me in a little weekend support.
My plan for the weekend as always is to have one treat meal drink lots of water and stay within my 1800 calories. I will be getting some exercise by working in the yard tomorrow.
06-03-2005, 03:12 PM
Count me in, Howie. My plan is to stay at my target points (22) today and use no more than 15 of my 35 flex points over the weekend (I haven't used any so far this week). I will drink at least 2 litres of caffeine-free water based beverages daily and will walk/hike at least 2km on each of Saturday and Sunday!
Let's do it, folks! :D
06-03-2005, 03:17 PM
Okay, it's my first week back on WW in several months (and I'm NOT changing that siggy!) so I thought I'd join in the weekend challenge. It's definitely going to be a challenge since it's my 24th anniversary, and we're spending a couple of days at the coast where we'll be eating every meal out. My plan is to stay OP by eating shrimp salads instead of my usual bowl of clam chowder with garlic bread, to walk on the beach (and to get lots of indoor exercise, too :o ), and to have only one glass of white wine during the weekend.
06-03-2005, 03:20 PM
Alright kids! How about me exercising 3 days in a row??? :faint: How about it??? I'm going to try for it.
Happy Anniversary Sheila & SheilaDH!!! :D
06-03-2005, 03:20 PM
Ohhhh, Happy, Happy Anniversary (and thanks for pointing out to the youngin's that we old folks get lots of exercise too  ). Have a great time with hubby and the shrimpfest! ;)
06-03-2005, 03:31 PM
 When I wrote that, in my mind I could hear my kids going, "Ewww, Mom!"
06-03-2005, 03:47 PM
Happy anniversary, Sheila! Hope you have a fantastic time with hubster. Maybe you can do some of what I jokingly call "husband squats" this weekend. I'll leave it to you to figure out what those are (did I just say that?!?) :o
I am *so* in on this one. I suspect Jill would be hunting me down if I didn't post. :p
My plan is to keep up my exercise everyday with one of my workouts being "leg day" (hmmm. see above!). I've been avoiding leg weights workouts because I'm always sooo sore afterward, but I know how important they are! I also plan to get in plenty of walking.
HOWEVER, exercise isn't usually the problem, food is. So I am going to stay under 1500 cals today and between 1600-1800 calories on Saturday and Sunday. Really, I would be OK just maintaining over the weekend, as long as I DON'T GAIN BACK WHAT I LOST THIS WEEK.
I have to shop this weekend for a new suit for a business trip in a couple of weeks. I have a sneaking suspicion seeing myself in a state of half-dress in front of some full-length mirrors will help keep me honest  .
Hang in there, all! We can do this.
06-03-2005, 03:54 PM
Ok I'm going blind here. LOL Happy Anniversary Sheila.
06-03-2005, 04:05 PM
Yes, trust that New York hussy to turn it into a porn thread ("husband squats" indeed  ). May I remind you Apryl will be home from school any minute? :p
06-03-2005, 04:11 PM
Um, Jilly? Apryl is almost a Senior in high school, from Northern Wisconsin (where, by the way, there is NOTHING to do), I'm quite sure she could probably teach us all a few things!!!
Anyway, I'll keep doing what I'm doing for the challange, as always. Today being my mid-week scale check, I'm down an unofficial 2 pounds. I am taking my day off from exercise tomorrow, but back to the grind on sunday!
06-03-2005, 04:17 PM
Whatever, Sara :p Next thing you'll be telling me my daughter, who is closing in on 30 and has been married for 3 years, isn't pure! :D
06-03-2005, 04:19 PM
I will assume she is not! Hopefully anyway!!! And, hey! I'm closing in on 30... only 2 1/4 years to go! Yikes...
06-03-2005, 04:21 PM
Well, seeing as I'm old enough to be your mother then, you should be respecting your elders, and humouring the old broad! ;)
06-03-2005, 04:23 PM
Unless you're closing in on 90 you are far from old! You are also quite attractive... for an old broad!!! wink wink ;)
06-03-2005, 04:31 PM
Flattery will get you everywhere! Even a back-handed compliment ;) Okay, enough - if I want my weekend to start at 5 I'd better get some work done! :D
06-03-2005, 05:01 PM
LOL you guys are soooooo funny, can excessive belly laughter count as exercise??? I am on a maintenance break this weekend. I am having more treats but keeping up with the exercise. I had a long walk with one of my friends and the dh this morning, and then went for a swim and a gym session, it was lovely (to celebrate my birthday) I have been a fairly good girl with the food today, except for some chocolate - but if you can't have chocolate on your birthday, when can you????
06-03-2005, 05:19 PM
I'm in. Need to get a little forward momentum after the Memorial Day weekend (still recovering...sigh...) So I'm going to get in 5 miles on my treadmill each day and get back up to drinking 64 oz of water per day. Not too ambitious but it would be really, really nice to lose those next two pounds.
06-03-2005, 06:17 PM
add me in as well. Going to just stay on plan under 2000 calories, 15-20 mins. exercise and 64 oz. water. We're hitting hte city wide yard sales tomorrow so I'll get in some extra walking.
06-05-2005, 10:44 PM
Well, the weekend's pretty much over as far as I'm concerned...so, how did everyone do? I did what I set out to do, so I'm happy in that regard. Oh yeah, G wants Jennifer's address so he can send her his physiotherapy bills (I used my imagination as she suggested and tried out some "husband squats") :o :D
06-05-2005, 11:02 PM
I had to work all weekend (still here in fact), I was so darn busy I don't think I ate ENOUGH!!! Took my day off from exercise yesterday (did my own version of husband squats though  ) Today I walked 2 miles (round trip) to get a newspaper before work. We'll see...official weigh in is tomorrow morning!!!
06-06-2005, 12:05 AM
I did pretty good with the exception of Friday night. My treat meal went way over. Today and Saturday were really good.
06-06-2005, 12:16 AM
Enough about the husband squats people!!!
I have no forseeable prospect of any husband sqats whatsoever with my hubby somewhere in the north of the province, bravely battling fires......WWWWWAAAHHHHHH!!
:(  :nono:   :stress: :tantrum: :censored: :bomb:  :tired:
I WANNA DO HUSBAND SQUATS TOOOOOO!
Love you anyway! :) (And so concludes my whining session)
06-06-2005, 12:30 AM
You will just have to use this time to go to the gym and become a super squater.:strong:
06-06-2005, 01:11 PM
LOL Howie. I'd be afraid if I tried the husband squats I would collapse and hurt some of the equipment. I don't know what the recovery time would be for that though :D
I did great on Friday and Saturday and yesterday was a total washout but it was yesterday and I'm on to a new day :D
06-06-2005, 01:37 PM
LOL boy this thread has taken on a life of it's own. It is a new day Dawnyal so forget about yesterday and just keep going.
06-07-2005, 03:42 PM
Okay, so I'm really proud of myself. Being away from home and eating out is really hard for me, but I did great. The hotel included a full breakfast. Instead of eating the "hot" part of the breakfast, I ate fruit and a hard boiled egg. Lunches were shrimp cocktails while my DH had the clam chowder. I even had the server bring me a different salad at dinner because I asked for dressing on the side and she brought it "fully dressed." Drank tons of water and walked on the beach a bunch (got in that healthy indoor exercise that we're not supposed to talk about anymore, too :D ). So, it was a great OP weekend away from home and shows that I really can do it if I put my mind to it.
06-07-2005, 03:49 PM
Great accomplishment, Sheila! I, too, struggle with being away and would love to come home after having a great time without saying "Yep, it was a blast...but I blew my plan to bits". Well, if you can do it, so can I (remind me of this at the end of July before I head off to another vacation, please!) :D
06-08-2005, 01:24 PM
Wow this place is jumping! :goodvibes :woo:
Never heard of ahem "squats" before.
Linda you are not alone-my bf and I have been together for about 11years. the last 10 with only hugs and kiss on the cheek. Amazingly we get along good, when I quit worrying about it - we are like the old couple that love each other but sleep in separate rooms. The LOVE is still there for you. Dwell on that. He's missing you too. Will pray for his safety.
Been doing pretty good, off meds and doing herbal and vitimins with docs approval. Ate too much of Memorial leftovers but back on now. :spin:
Lost a few more this way. Someone said they try to go to the 9s when they lose so that is my goal. From a highest weight of 279, now 269. My next goal is 259. saying good bye to 279 and Hi to 269 and hopefully in the not too distant future hello to 259. That will be my mini goals. :coach: :cheer: :ebike: :dancer:  :strong:
You and your wife, Howie, are an inspiration to me. :high: :thanks:
06-08-2005, 01:55 PM
Thanks Carol it's good to know we inspire you. Keep up the good work.
06-08-2005, 03:06 PM
 This thread is off the chain, too funny! I didn't partake in the weekend challenge, but I wish I did. Is there going to be another one? Oh and by the way no squats of any kind here ;) :D
06-09-2005, 11:12 AM
Hi everyone! :)
Taking it easy today. Having some tummy trouble :( with the herbs(I think) that I have been taking in place of my diabetic meds.(got docs permission).
I had a biscut and tea for breakfast. Put only easily digested foods down for awhile and only took regular vitamins.
Drank Aloe Vera juice to heal it-have a hiatal hernia I tried to put into place myself and may have upset it.
Feels better this morning. Maybe some good old chicken :chicken: broth.
Food has been hitting hard for a few days before I pushed down on my hernia, so really feel it is the herbs. :?:
Already prayed about it last night. If not better by afternoon, will call doc and get a test-see what my hernia is up to, may have to go back to my Zantac-maybe overdoing the vinigar for my tummy. :?:
Well enough of the worry syndrome.
How's everyone today? Are you having a great day? :spin:
Think I'll head down for a drink of that tasty chicken broth. :T
Tomorrow, I'll pick up some of the low sodium kind.
Have fun everyone!

Sorry to see your not feeling well Carol. Hope you are feeling better soon.
