How is everyone today? I am resolving to try to eat more slowly and not always be the first one finished. Funny how we all have that problem. Trudy it seems like you make out o.k. at tea time. How do you lose weight? I stayed the same this week. Feeling very lucky that I did since I overdid it over the weekend. Have a nice day. Will check in later. Have a lot of painting to get finished before we go on vacation in June. Peggy

G'day all
I did have a good day shopping. We bought all the stationary for the wedding invites and I bought myself a nice jumper. It is a lot colder here than Sydney. The jumper was sort of a bargain, it was very expensive but it had 30% off which made it still a bit pricey but good to tell dh how much I had once again saved :D:D
Lily as you may know 'frog tel' is off, back to us understanding American colloquisms!!
Thank you Ann for explaining Memorial Day, for us the equivalent is Anzac Day. We of course recognise November 11 and have a minute silence at 11am but no public holiday.
Someone send me the following this morning. I need to perhaps explain that Tasmanians are sometimes referred to as being a bit thick, having 2 heads and a lot of inbreeding, need I say more!! I hope I didn't offend anyone but even Tasmanians have a bit of a laugh about their reputation, bit like the blond jokes. We all know the brunettes are just jealous of the fun we blondes have :D:D
FROM A TASMANIAN MUM TO HER SON
Dear Son,
I'm writing this letter slow because I know you can't read fast.
We don't live where we did when you left home. Your dad read in the newspaper that most accidents happen within 20kms from your home, so we moved.
I won't be able to send you the address because the last Tasmanian family that lived here took the house numbers when they moved so that they wouldn't have to change their address.
This place is really nice. It even has a washing machine. I'm not sure it works so well though: last week I put a load in and pulled the chain and haven't seen them since.
The weather isn't bad here. It only rained twice last week; the first time for three days and the second time for four days.
About that coat you wanted me to send you, your Uncle Stanley said it would be too heavy to send in the mail with the buttons on, so we cut them off and put them in the pockets.
John locked his keys in the car yesterday. We were really worried because it took him two hours to get me and your father out.
Your sister had a baby this morning; but I haven't found out what it is yet so I don't know if you're an aunt or an uncle. The baby looks just like your brother...
Uncle Ted fell in a whiskey vat last week. Some men tried to pull him out but he fought them off playfully and drowned. We had him cremated and he burned for three days.
Three of your friends went off a bridge in a ute(I think you call this a pick-up truck). Ralph was driving. He rolled down the window and swam to safety. Your other two friends were in the back. They drowned because they couldn't get the tailgate down.
There isn't much more news at this time. Nothing much has happened.
Love, Mum
P.S. I was going to send you some money but I had already sealed the envelope.
I hope the letter made you smile. I do need to say that Tasmania is a beautiful island with some spectacular scenery, national parks etc. It is also known as the 'apple island', a lot of our apples are grown there.
Hope the tourism plug has redeemed me somewhat for portraying Tasmanians as not being overly bright!
Have a great day all
Cheers
Maria

Thanks Peggy. I found that I was not receiving my email notices from 3fc when a new post came on.Hence I got behind in the news. Where are you going on vacation? We will be leaving the 10th of June and going to a granddaughters H.S. Graduation, in Williamsburg, VA, then on to Maine, and then to my college class reunion in N.Y state. Visitng various friends and relativeas along the way. I'm going to miss you all, but will try to pick up a post or two at my daughters.Good news that you stayed the same and didn't go up. I feel sure I'll be up again. When someone maintains from week to week, not going up, our leader hands out BRAVO stars.
Maria: Your letter from Mum was too funny. Around here we would probably refer to the same type of personality as a Redneck, or if they were mountain people Hillbillys. The same-good folks, but but with the reputaion of being 'slow'.
Isn't it wonderful to be able to brag about saving money on sales. That always seems to go over well.Actually my DH doesn't care, as long as I am happy with what I purchase. I'm very fortuante, but I love sales. Makes me feel like I'm doing something great.Saving money! I want a new dress of my class reunion. Gotta keep up appearance with all these old classmates. Of course none of us are getting any younger:lol: :D

Ann: wow you are going to be traving ther whole east side sounds like. The College reunion sounds like fun.
Slavika: Had a Rubarb Muffin this morning. Yummmmm Gonna look for more recipes using it in all my many many cook books. I have just always by passed them before.
Boy what a day. was really busy. Then I left my key that gets me into work at work. ALAS...... I went into the bathroom to change to go to the gym and didnt even think about it. Oh well I will just have to wait an extra hour beforing leaving for work. Im always the first one there. (need to read the boards before the day starts ya know) Cant get in with out a key. Just hope its still there where I left it tomorrow. ALAS...... Guess it was another one of those senior moments.

Hi Everybody
I had a nice day out with my friend today, even if it was overcast all day. I bought my grandson a lovely "Harry Potter" hard covered journal to write in, for a passing present. Of course school is not over yet but I was happy I thought of getting it for him. :)
I had to buy new blush, and I have been wearing one from Estee Lauder, and saw that Estee had a nice little gift with a $26.00 purchase. I bought the blush for $35.00 and "SAVED" my DH all kinds of money by getting this lovely gift for"FREE". LOL :D We gals sure "SAVE" our husbands a lot of money.
Lily I'm happy you liked the muffins and that you enjoy the taste of rhubarb. I made the rhubard sauce and I like it too. Don't put those two tbsp. of margarine into it that I said the recipe calls for, just a tsp or so is enough and it cuts way down on the points. I had a little dish of it this morning and some rye toast....it was good. I hope your key will be where you left it. Ann You said you were leaving on holidays on June 10th, for how long?? Sounds like you will have a lovely time. :) Maria There you go again saving your DH money. LOL
Peggy I really think it will do us all good to slow down when we eat. Sometimes, when it takes a long time to prepare a meal and then we sit down to eat it, we are finished in minutes. YIKES. I remember a long time ago our Leader told us to put our fork down in between forkfuls/mouthfuls. If you look around when people are eating there sure aren't many doing that.
Maria when I first got my computer someone sent me the same letter as the one you posted but it was written by a "hillbilly mama". I bet that same letter is in every country in the world with a few changes. :D
Hi Trudy what kind of day did you have today?
Tomorrow I get that little thingme taken off my cheek.
I saw my DIL tonight. I made her up a little basket with bath stuff and face masks, a pretty candle, moisturizers, and a "Oh Henry" chocolate bar, to say welcome home. I think she liked the the "OH Henry" the best. When I get back from a long plane trip its like all the water in my body has been taken out, my skin is so dry. She said she felt like that too. She brought us a lovely white linen/or/cotton embroidered table cloth with all the cut out work on it.
Night all.

I am quite excited working this out by myself without any help from dh. I just rang him in sydney to let him know.

Maria your site is truly fantasmagorical [love that word]. You did a great job. All that hard work paid off. BTW we seem to have to same haircut. Slavika you are a good shopper saving your dh all that money. What a hoot. Glad your dil got home safely. She came back to a nice present. Lily I hope you can get into work today and that you find your key. Maybe you need one of those thingme's that stretch from your pocket to your belt like the bikers use. LOL Ann sounds like you will be doing lots of traveling. Are you driving? We are going to the Outer Banks in North Carolina June 14th. We are staying in Duck. Never been there. We are going with my sister and her kids and their kids. There will be 22 of us. We have a rented a big house with 8 bedrooms and 6 bathrooms. It is on the beach and it has a pool. On the internet it looks nice. Should be fun. I stubbed my toe the other day and now it is all swollen and I think the nail is going to fall off. I tried to walk yesterday but it hurt too much so today I have to find some other exercises to do. Have a good day all, Peggy

Slavika: I like the way we save are DH's all this money to. Mine doesnt see it that way tho. He just doesnt know better. The Basket you made your DIL was very nice. Bet she loved it. The table cloth she brought you sounds beautiful!
Peggy: I have one of those things on my card reader key. Doesnt help when you pull it off and place it else where tho! :) But I found it. And had another one made so I can keep it in my wallet just in case. Seem to be doing this alot lately. Sorry to hear about your toe. That hurts! I have done it many many times.

Maria: Wonderful. Makes me want to vist 'Down-under' even more. What is the bird that you used at the side of the page? I really like birds, and enjoy bird watching some, when I have the opportunity. Your little dogs are so cute. Pappillions are really fiesty litte ones and with the butterfly ears. You must miss them.
Lily: So glad you found your key and all is well. Are you still sweltering? I have been reading about the request for Californians to dry clothes outside, since dryers use the greatest amount of energy. And that home owners assoc. won't allow clothes lines. True? How is the maintenace going?
Peggy: Eating slow is a hard job. I was told to chew my food twenty times for each mouthful. But I can't do it. Being on a time schedule for meals for so much of my life is is a hard habit to break. We are going to drive on our vacation. Will be gone about 6 weeks. Good that we have so many friends and relatives with a spare bed and and that we are welcome, Cuddles dog and all. Traveling with Cuddles will be the challenge. When we went with a trailer, she had her own space.Time will tell.Your spot in N. Carolina sounds great. My DD and SIL stay there now and again, and love it. You'll have a great time, and it is too early for hurricanes.
I've got to look for some rhubarb in the stores. Your talk of muffins and such make me want some.
Slavika: Have you read any of the Harry Potter books?I guess they really appeal to the kids, but have heard that adults find them fascinating also. I am patiently waiting for the next book in the Left Behind series to come out Sometime this fall, I believe.
Hi to all. Shall check back later for more news. Ann

Hi Everybody
Went to the doctor today and had the little mole thing removed. He told me to lay on the examining table, so that he could strap me down, and he would give me something hard to bite down on so his other patients wouldn't hear me yelling. LOL
Actually he froze it and then burnt it off with a small little thing, that looked like a soldering pen. It was over in a minute and didn't hurt at all. :) Lily you should know that he didn't charge me, because he said, I am so nice to him, bringing him back Macadamin nuts from Maui each time I go, and he wants that to continue. What do you think, I might be on to something here. Nuts in exchange for medical procedures. :) Glad your key was there waiting for you.
Peggy North Carolina, beach, pool, sure sounds good to me. You will have a lovely time. Did you say how long you would be gone?
Ann Where are you headed on your holidays?
I'm sure your little "Cuddles" will love the trip. It seems a dog is happy if it can just be by its masters. Actually, I have given my grandson the first 3 Harry Potter books and when he finished the first one he "loaned" it to me and I just finished it about two weeks ago. It was ok, but I don't think I want to read the rest. I have a ton of other books I would like to read. Remember I bought the the first Left Behind book some time ago and still didn't get a chance to read it.
Trudy gave me a small little parsley plant which I put in my garden on Tuesday and just awhile ago we had a big downpour. It was really coming down. I put on my duck shoes and my hooded jacket to go out, and DH asked if I had lost my mind. I told him, I didn't want my poor little plant to just drown in all that mud and water. He said, what plant? I said, "the little parsley plant". He just looked at me, and shook his head.....sadly I thought. LOL LOL :D
I'll come back later and see how you are all doing.

G'day all,
Thank you all! I am really pleased you enjoyed the site.
I have come down to earth now :D
My intention really is to keep it updated as we travel.
I feel a bit lost now, not sure what I will do today, it has really kept me occupied the past month or so.
Received a call from son who opened his birthday card before his birthday! As you may recall I posted 2 return flights to Melbourne for the weekend of June 8.
He is over the moon, very excited! It is a pity partner and him are only here for 2 nights. It is a long weekend here and I was a little late booking the flights :(
Never mind, I am just pleased they will be here albeit for a short time.
We also had a bit of bad news, dh's father who is 87 is far from well. He still plays golf but has been unable to play the last few weeks.
He talks now that it won't be long and he will be joining his wife who died 4 years ago. I know we all have to go sometime and 87 is pretty good but it still is awful.
I am pleased my daughter rings him regularly and my son visits him regularly for a game of cards.
Well I have to think of something to do today! Shopping perhaps..............It is just incredible the amount of money we all save our dh's by doing all this market research :D
Have a great day!
Thanks again for your comments, I did appreciate them.
Cheers

We are in a weird weather pattern today, it has been warm, windy, sunny, sprinkling, thunder & lightening, downpour and now sunny and calm. I've changed my clothes 3 times today  .
Maria.. your web page is truly "fantasmagorical", I think that is a word we should all use from now on. I will enjoy seeing your travels as you update. Your family is very good looking. :) Now, is a jumper a woolen sweater as it would be in the U.K.? Here and in the USA it would be a sleeveless loose dress-like garment with a low neck, or just shoulder straps worn over a sweater or blouse. Sorry about your F-I-L... it's just awful when they get older and start to fail, the loss can be unbearable. The Tasmanian letter was a hoot.
Slavika.. actually "barter" is a good thing, goods exchanged for services. I am sure you feel better getting that "thingme" off. My Mom went to the Doc today because of a strange lump on her thumb nuckle. It is a ganglia (sp ?). Seems the arthritis has caused some spreading in the joint and this thing has started to grow. Doc said that if it starts to hurt or gets any bigger she will have to get it out, but for the meantime just leave it alone. She is not happy with this :nono: ... she wants it off and NOW! **sigh**
Sometimes it is hard to explain what a wonderful service we provide by saving our DH's TONS OF MONEY with our purchases... they just don't get it ....
Ann .. Cuddles is such a cute name for a dog. It's good you can take him/her with you. Have fun at the reunion. I think I chew my food 2 times before I swallow ~~ but chew 20 times???? I guess I will try that. Staying the same is better than gaining.
Peggy.. actually I have nearly the same haircut too.. (so does Slavika )... WOW it is spooky, how in tune we are. :dizzy: Your June trip to DUCK sounds fabulous.. give us the site address so we can all take a look. :^:
Lily.. Looks like your key was where you left it... ..it's frustrating when we do these things. I have changed handbags and I am completely lost. I carry my "life" around in it, everything is supposed to be where I can find it easily... well today I had to remove 1/2 my stuff to find my Safeway & Airmiles card...I took out my collapsible cup, dental floss, fold up shopping bag, first aid kit, toonie/loonie container.... the line behind me was quite long too.
For those of you who don't know this, we have $1.00 and $2.00 coins .. eg. Toonies and Loonies... ~ only in Canada they say.. IF you are ever given the choice to give up paper bills for coins, do yourselves a favor and say NO... they weigh a ton and, in my case need a separate container, they won't fit in my wallet.
Well, I sure had a lot to say... will give you a break and say Good Night... talk to you tomorrow...

Ann: Yes its still hot here 103 today. Dont know about the clothes lines. I dont live in an area that has a home Owner assoc. Thank goodness. Sounds like it would be something they would do anyways! Maintenance is going good so far. Its going to be challenging for the rest of my life thats for sure!
Slavika: Glad it didnt hurt! I would keep bringing him nuts thats for sure! You better go back soon and stock up just in case! They just are not the same unless they come from Hawaii! Did you save the plant?
Maria: Sorry to hear about your DH's father. Are you going to beable to go back and see him?
I bet your son was excited to get his present. You are gonna enjoy his visit even tho it is short. Anytime is precious!
Trudy: I like that name toonie/loonie. I didnt know they were called that. But I sure did hate them when I was there. I always thought they were a quarter. I would have to ask DH everytime I went to spend money. I cant image carrying those around all the time! But your bag sounds as bad as mine. I carry why to much stuff but its all important!
Better get dinner going DH is home and gets grumpy if I wait to long! Matter of fact he just walked by and called me a Nerd Girl. ALAS.......

Hi All
Trudy and Lily were talking about our $1.00 coin the "loonie" and our $2.00 coin the "Toonie" and yesterday I received this little thing from a friend in the e-mail saying, "signs you might be Canadian". Here's just a couple of them.
Canadian's say, serviette not napkin
We say chocolate bars not candy bars.
We drink pop, not soda.
We drive on higways not freeways.
We sit on a chesterfield not a sofa,
We are not sure if the leader of our nation EVER had sex and don't want to know if he has.
Lastly, we know that, Mounties don't always look like that. LOL
Night all.

Good Morning all, Trading nuts for medical services? Sounds fair to me. But I am glad that you had it removed. Toonies and Loonies? I didn't realize that you had $1 and $2 coins. It has been a long time since we have been to Canada. I can imagine that they do get heavy. Trudy your purse sounds like my friends. She has her whole life and then some in there. Doesn't your arm or shoulder get sore from carrying all that stuff around? We are leaving June 14th and will be gone for a week. Here is where we will be. http://www.southernshores.com/map/duck.html then click on #352. It is a little pricey. They decided to divide it evenly 22 ways. I hope that is warmer there than it is here. It has been in the 60's. The paper this morning said to blame it on Canada. You all are sharing and sending it this way. With all the rain everything is really green. I like your things a Canadian says. I say highway and pop and am disappointed that Mounties don't always look like that. Maria what could be than to go shopping to celebrate. You deserve it. There was an article about Lucent in yesterday's paper. Hope that all goes well. Ann your dog sounds darling. Cute name. That's all for now, Peggy

Thought we were actually goin to have rain yesterday but it went all around us. Guess we are going to have to start rain dances.
Cuddles is 10lbs, a cockapoo, and her name suits her. She likes to be on your lap, and snuggle. She is a great friend, soon to be 11 years old.
Trudy-Slaviak: How long have you had the toonies? When we were still living up north, we used to get to Canada a lot, and I remember the loonies, but not the toonies.I just remember the 2 dollar bills with the unusual color and bird on it. Was it a robin?
Hope you saved the parsely. I had a sore shoulder, with the big bag full of my life, and had to change to something smaller. And I still can't find stuff. It always seems what I want is at the bottom. I have a simialr haircut also, but not blonde, I'm a brunette with a lot of grey streaks. If it ever gets all grey I'll go 'a la naturel'. Glad you got the 'thingame' taken care of,and painlessly too. Not a bad deal for nuts.:)
Peggy: Divided 22 ways makes for an economical way to take advantage of a special place. I'm glad you said there are a lot of bathrooms. I'm sure you will have a great time. It is bound to be warmer.
Maria: We'll be waiting to hear about all the money you saved your DH today. I do like to shop and save money. :D
Glenda: How are you doing with your major project? By now I imagine you have gone past the worst. Keep up the good work.
Lily: You are right we are going right up the East Coast. We won't be near the water most of the time, but we know it is there. I love Willimasburg, Virginia. It is such a neat town, and Colonial Williamsburg is a wondedrful place to visit. The early seat of our government. It is all like the way it was, with gardens and taverns and horses, etc. The guides are all dressed in period clothes. The Governors mansion is just an outstanding home.I'm glad my DD & SIL live there. That is where the graduation is.And then there is the Jamestown Colony, another historical site. Can you tell I like history, of our country and other as well.
Slavika: I suggest you get started on Left Behind. It is a good book, and the rest in the series are just as exciting.

I have decided that I hate housework! I am working my fingers to the bone today, trying to keep the Health Inspector from closing us down.
Ann.. I start out with my purse neatly strung over my shoulder.. that lasts about 1 min and then I tuck it under my arm. Looks awful, but I can't part with a single thing in it.
I think we have had the $2.00 coin - The Toonie - for about 8 years now. Am I right Slavika? Your memory is better than mine.
Peggy..Your vacation spot looks wonderful. Good thing you are dividing the cost 22 ways. You will also have a PC and Internet connection, now that is important..
Lily ... the Loonie is gold, the Toonie is silver with a gold center, the quarters are now smaller and I get them confused with the nickles... don't even get me started.
Slavika .. Canadians sound like such a dull bunch. I used to date a Mountie, waaay back when.. he actually did look like that.
Come to think about it, USA bills are no treat either, since it is all one color it all looks the same, we have to be carefull what denomination it is. NOW we have technicolor bills. Wait until you get a load of our new $10.00 bills. I have no idea what the Treasury was thinking when they made those. :spin:
We are going to see Michelle Wright perform tonight. She is a Country/Western singer. The show should be good.
Back to the mop and pail.... .. got more to do.

Hi Everybody
Trudy I looked in DH toonie holders (he has a few) and they are all 1996, so I'm thinking that's when we got them. My memory is bad too, :( so had to check.
I e-mailed Lily a "copy" of our new $10.00. I found it in the Canadian Currency on the net, under "what's new". Well the $10.00 bill is sure new. If I could have thought of a way to post it on our board I would have, but I didn't know how to make it smaller. :D
I'm like Trudy when I am in the States I really have to watch with the US currency because the bills all have the same color and ours, each denomination is a different color.
Peggy #352 sure looks like a dream. What a glorious spot to spend a holiday, and what a great idea all of you getting together. :)
Glenda hi there, how are you making out? Is the non-smoking getting any easier?
Ann the parsley survived and is doing well. I am looking forward to reading the Left Behind book, maybe I'll make a start on it this weekend.

Just spent the last hour reading and catching up with all of you. It too an hour with all the detours I took along the way Maria your web page is trulyfantasmagorical Just took a quick look around but was so impressed. You do have nice looking family and by the way my hair is almost the same a everyone else's(is that a word?):?: Sorry to hear about you FIL.
Peggy The vacation house looks wonderful. What a great thing to be doing. I'm sure the weather will be much warmer. I sure wish it would warm up around here. I'm tired of long sleeves and sweatshirts.:nono:
Slavia I also drink pop and drive on highways. Glad your little plant survived. I too have been supplying my Granddaughter with Harry Potter books. Haven't read any of them . But she is the one asking for them so must be a kid thing. Glad you got the thingme taken off and nuts for service a good thing.
Trudy I have a thing for purses. I may have a million of them all hidden from DH because some of my bargains are not such a bargain if you know what I mean:rolleyes: Some are big and some are small. I like the organizer kind with all the zippers and pockets. Mine too usually wind up under my arm.
Ann your trip sound great. Sure is nice to have all those spare beds around and available with that long of a trip. Williamsburg sound like a place I would like to go. Gonna have to check that out.
Got to go to bed

G'day all,
It is saturday evening and we have spend the day going to the botanical gardens, the zoo and attended a game of football. I will definetly sleep well tonight!
Trudy you are right a jumper is, in your neck of the woods, a sweater :D. what you describe as a jumper we would call a tunic. Loved your star avatar.
Lily 103 that is very hot, yesterday June 1 is the start of winter for us. Not far from Melbourne is the Australian Alpine region where there is snow ski-ing. DH has never seen snow so we intend to go for a bit of drive and at least touch the stuff!!!
Slavika Australians use serviettes, eat chocolate bars (not me of course :D) but we don't drink pop or soda, we do have a soft drink, we sit on a couch and our leader has had sex (3 children) but that was it! We heard that President Clinton's popularity increased at the time of the Monica Lewinsky saga, it was suggested (in jest) to our leader to find a 'Monica' to boost his popularity , but he didn't think it was funny at all and his wife was quite offended.
Peggy Isn't it great that we can see where you will be staying. It looks superb but I agree, a little pricey but what the heck, enjoy!
Karen thank you for your kind words about my webpage. Isn't it amazing how we all have similar hairdo's. lol
When in time to come we have a get together, be it in Australia, America or Canada ;) it should be easy to recognise each other :D
Just received a phone call from partner of son, son is in hospital :( He plays Australian rules football, which is quite rough but he loves it. Thank goodness it is not too serious, he has discolated his finger and they are unable to get it back into place and will require now to operate. He was going to play golf with dh when he got here, guess he won't be able to do that now.
It is a bit doom and gloom here, telephone co. OneTel has gone in receivership leaving many of their workers without a job. Lucent Technologies is owed $Aus400 million, it won't effect us directly but everyone is a bit down about it all. Two weeks ago a large insurance company went in receivership, many people have been effected and have lost a lot of money. The government has now stepped in and is applying a tax so it can assist those worse effected. The directors have everything in their wife's name and so continue to live in their mansions. The directors of One-Tel paid themselves a $AUS7 million bonus but 6 months ago and now there is no money to pay the workers their entitlements.
It really makes me angry.
By the way I have lost another .8kg. The losses are slowing down but I am still loosing which is the main thing.
I have rambled on long enough and will say goodnight all
Cheers
Maria

It's still raining. This is getting real old. We went yard saleing in the rain. What we won't do to get a bargain. Maria I hope your son's finger is all right. What a shame that he has to have surgery. Keep those losses going down and soon you will be with Lily. If you want Monica I am sure we can arrange something. Karen and Trudy I like purses too. I keep getting those little ones but my wallet never fits in them so I go back to using my Sak. I like the idea of colored money. Would make it less confusing sometimes. Our new off centered bills are strange looking. I keep thinking that I have conterfeit[?] money. Whenever you pass a $20 they always get their little marker out and test it. I want a loonie and a toonie. Told my dh we have to go to Windsor and get some. He thought I was looney. Ann have a nice trip. I have never been to Williamsburg either. Would like to go there and to the Biltmore Estate. Someday. Have a good weekend, Peggy

Trudy: Who doesnt hate housework? ;) I know I do! The quarters are smaller? Cuz I have a quarter and a 5 cents now and they are close to the same size. These have a date of 1998. Dont have a Loonie or a Toonie tho :(
How was the concert?
Slavika: See below it is attached. I have a $20 bill still. Did that change? Mine is just all green. I want the colorfull one! Much prettier! Guess I need to come back to canada.
Karen: Dont feel out of the loop! Had to laugh about your purses. I know what you mean about not finding the real bargin! :)
Maria: Sorry to hear about your Son. But at least it wasnt serious! And he is still coming to visit. Thats the important thing. Good for you on the loss! It all helps!
Peggy: LOL! If you go get a Loonie and Toonie get me one! HAd to laugh about Monica to. We certainly could send her. Im sure she would go! :)
Heres the 10$ Very pretty! I think we should do something like this. Be easier to tell what you have.

We did have rain yesterday nearly all day. Send us some more.
Peggy: finally got to take a peek at your 'posh' vacation spot. Thought I wasn't going to be able to, because it said one needed Java, which webtv doesn't support, but I just kept clicking and 'voila' there it was. And you do surely have enough bathrooms. I love the pool. I go for the pools, no critters in them. No undertow in them. I do like the beach and to get sand between my toes, and that is about it. Just a wimp at heart.
Slavika-Trudy- and rhubarb lovers. Here is the Rhubarb Cake recipe. It is old but good. As near as I can determine if you cut it into 16 peices it should be 4pts per piece. Karen can tell if I have figured it correctly.
Cream together 2 cups sugar, 1/2 cup shortening and 1 egg
stir in 1 cup sour milk, 1 tsp soda 2 cups flour 1 tsp vanilla.
Mix in 3 cups raw rhubarb
Pur into greased and floured 9x13 pan. Bake at 350 degress for 40 -45 minutes.
After baking for 5 to 10 min.sprinkle 1/4 cup sugar & cinnamon to taste on the tope and return to oven to finish baking.
It is good on its' own or with whipped toppin or ice cream.
We left the north country in 1996, so that is probably why I don't remember the 'toonies'.
Maria: Sorry to hear of your sons' mishap.Isn't is strange ow such a small part of ones body like finger or toe, can make one hurt all over.? But at least he can come to visit you. Is Australian foot ball like our Soccer? Our football is plenty rough. Many players get injuries which last for life. Keep up the good work with weight loss. I' m still over my goal, and it gets discouraging. I need a pep talk from you all.Especially as we'll be traveling and I have to be really careful. Maybe one saving grace will be that it won't be so easy to grab an inbetween meal 'bad' snack.
So far I haven't heard anyone say that they like housecleaning. One more thing we have in common. Also, am I the only brunette with the similar haircut?
Hi Geri, Glenda and Karen. Will check back later for more news. Ann

Hi Everybody
Lily you sure are one smart cookie. I didn't know how to make the $10.00 bill small enough to post it on our board but you did. WTG. :)
So gals, what do you think, do you like the new Canadian $10.00 bill???
I thought it would be fun if we hauled our purses to our computer desks and listed on the board everything we each had it them. Then I thought about my purse.....and decided I would probably use up the space of 30 posts. Not a good idea.
What is it with women and their purses. I have things in there that "MAYBE" once in a lifetime I or someone with me would need. Example: a tiny scewdriver to fix eyeglasses. A complete pharmacy, in case......of diarrhea, constipation, Gravol, an anti-nauseant, Claritin, for allergies, Imitrex for migrraine headaches, Tylenol for whatever, bandaids for boo-boo's. Well you get the picture. ALAS my shoulder bag is soooo heavy that my left shoulder is approx. 14" lower then my right shoulder. Ok, I tend to get carried away when I tell a story, maybe not 14". :D
Ann thanks for giving us the Rhubarb Cake recipe. I'm having my brother and his wife over for din dins tomorrow night, maybe I should make the cake for dessert if I can get that much rhubarb from garden (I have to wait for it to grow some more).
Peggy when we were in Maui this year I went into Longs Drugstore (Lily you know it) and gave the gal a $20.00 bill and she examined it carefully and marked it with a green felt. She told me they have to watch for counterfeit bills. I don't know what the green felt marker was for. Maria Sorry to hear about your son's injury. Maybe depending what finger it is he will still be able to play golf. That's sad about people losing their jobs too. YIKES. Karen I have a ton of purses too. For sure I buy every purse I see that is made of denim. My DIL bought me a lovely Derek Alexander leather shoulder bag dyed a denim color and I love it, but even empty the bag has WEIGHT. I will use it again this winter tho. I went to a couple of garage sales today too, and bought a couple of "toy type things" for the grandbabies. Trudy I bought myself a ring at a garage sale. The gal who had the sale said it was her MIL's and that she bought it off the Home Shopping Channel. She said when it arrived it was so HUGE she wouldn't wear it so it was in the garage sale for $6.00. Her MIL paid $45.00. One of the gals from our WW was there and she said, geez you could wear it, looks good. I told her you needed a "REAL" attitude to wear a ring like that~~~~~~~
Went to Costco and bought those wonderful bagels and some Strawberry Lite Cream Cheese and had one for lunch. Boy it was good. Worth the 6 points.
I'll come back later. bye now. :)

Ann: Recipe looks good! I put it into Master Cook and came up with 4.5 points. At 16 servings.
Slavika: I like the new bill. I think its great! Very colorful. My purse has everything to. I have a tiny screwdriver in mine to for glasses and a tiny Swiss army knife that has scissors. Comes in handy sometimes. Dh is always making fun of what is in it and telling me its weighing me down. Its the truth to, as sometimes my back hurts from carring it a long time. Forgot it always has a bottle of water in it to. Thats what weighs it down. :)
Off to watch a movie. Have a great night all!

We really enjoyed Michelle Wright last night. She looked teriffic and sang every song she has made famous in the last 15 yrs. "He Is Just 16", "One Good Man", "Take It Like A Man", "Safe In The Arms Of Love" .. just to name a few.
Maria.. So hard to imagine June being the fall.. and your DH not knowing what snow is like... I think that I heard your winters are not really cold, just a lot of rain... is that correct? Sorry to hear about your son injury, but so pleased to hear about your losing more weight. WTG :D
Peggy.. that rain can really get on the nerves... I think rainy, cloudy, dreary days are hard on everyone. I need sunshine, don't care if it is cool, just give me sun.
Lily.. the $20.00 are still all green.. some people like to call our currency "Monopoly Money" .. kind of true. Had to  at the Swiss Army Knife and the bottle of water... hadn't thought of carrying that around yet.
Ann.. that recipe looks tasty. I have some rhubarb .. thanks to Slavika and will make the cake.
Slavika.. my DH only has his wallet, a comb, and a hanky in his pockets, he doesn't like to carry change or the Toonie/Loonies, because they are too heavy... I get to carry everything else.. My handbags are shaped so nice when I buy them, after I fill them up they resemble a football with a shoulder strap.
.. Another ring.. like you really needed another ring..
I have been really lazy today... just lolling around doing nothing.. and being really tired doing it
