2 years ago I lost 45 lbs on SB. I gave up smoking 10/28/04 ;) however, I gained every pound back. Loved SB because it simply killed the cravings and it really worked.

It isn't working this time - but neither is low calorie - and on that I'm so hungry, low blood sugar and cranky!

Has anyone else had this happen and if so, how did you overcome it? I'm so very uncomfortable I could scream!

Thanks for any hints etc. Summer in Arizona is hot, hot, hot, and extra weight is a killer.

How long have you been at it(restarted)? Why don't you join us on the SB board and post your daily menu? Maybe we can figure how what is stalling you. And yes, yesterday I had a very bad eating day and I got back on track today. I was feeling okay until this afternoon and I got really tired feeling and cranky. I didn't feel hungry, my stomach wasn't growling. But after I ate supper, I felt so much better. I realized it had been almost 6 hours since I had ate(besides 7 almonds) last. I guess it was my blood sugars had dropped. How often are you eating? It's possible that you may not be eating enough, or often enough.

Hi Gail! Welcome to the board! I had a hysterectomy on 10/14, and gained 25 pounds that will not budge, so I can understand your frustration. Sometimes, it is harder second time around. Heartmom had some good ideas, and I agree with her. Come join us on the weekly support thread, and post your menus, and let everyone look them over. The group is pretty knowledgeable and helpful. Keep in mind its a holiday weekend, so it will be slow until Tuesday, probably, but once the work week gets started it picks up.

Thanks! I always eat whole wheat - real whole wheat - salads, I'm so careful about sugar in anything; I've been trying since January and between SB and low calorie, 8 lousy pounds! Breakfast has been cheddar cheese and triscuits (low fat) - about 2 oz of cheese (and low fat from Trader Joe's - 60 calories per oz 75% fat free and pretty good) and probably 8 triscuits. Lunch - 4 or 5 slices low fat ham or turkey on whole wheat; an apple for snack, some almonds and then meat and veg for dinner. Pretty sane, right? I am totally baffled by this! I've heard it can take up to a year for the metabolism to kick back in after quiting the smokes - and I believe it. I do cheat on occassion but not a lot. I will take you up on the posting though. Many minds can work wonders. Thanks again. :grouphug:

Gail, post over in the weekly support thread so more people will see it. Just post reply, and not a new thread. That is where the whole gang reads and posts most often. :)
