View Full Version : Weekly Weigh-in 23/05 - 30/05

Well...I am down one pound. I know I should be grateful for this and in part I am but one pound?!? Good Lord, why does it go one so easy and off so slowwwwwwwly. Anyway, I will reframe, be positive and happy with one pound loss. I will even go look at the posted picture of what one pound of fat looks like (i.e. a pound of butter - that actually takes up a fair amount of space) I just wished it was 55 lbs or something - oh delusion, isn't it grand! I know, I know - no quick fixes, darn! Happy day to all.

Well I don't really weight in until Friday, but I cheated and weighed today. I've lost 2.5 pounds so far this week!

05-23-2005, 12:11 PM
I am down another 2lbs!! Woohoo!

05-23-2005, 12:15 PM
Great losses so far this week so far! Jenaya, try not to be hard on yourself... a loss is still a loss! I know how difficult it is to be patient, but if you could see my weight loss graph, I have many alternating weeks of tiny/big losses. As long as it's going down, you're getting there!

I lost a bunch of water weight this week after a long-ish plateau (we call that the "month of May" )... I'm down 4 to 180. The best part is that I was technically 179.8, so I'm officially OUT OF THE 180s!!!!!! Wow, I love a new "decade." Hope to plant myself there firmly this week!

Good luck to all who haven't weighed in yet.

Good loses everyone. I know what you mean Jennifer. I am looking forward to being out of the 90s.

05-23-2005, 01:40 PM
WTG all on the losses. Since my normal weigh in day has been Mondays, I went ahead and stepped on the scale today and was down .5 from last Thursday or Friday (I can't remember when I stepped on the scale.)

Good losses everyone!!

I lost one pound this week :)

Have a good week everyone!

Well, I haven't weighed in about a month ~ I think because I knew the news would not be good. I wasn't horrible everyday ~ just too many days. I have just gotten back from another stretch of days off. I didn't get back on track after the last days off, and just kept on "not being careful". I guess falling back into the old thought patterns ~ I know I am probably not going to do very well while on vacation, so why should I even try until I get back. So, I weighed today ~ time to get back to a normal routine. The damage was 7 pounds from the last time I had weighed. (I had weighed somewhere along the line, but had not posted the gain.)

My sister came to visit, and we were bad together. She is somewhat overweight, but not as much as me. We rented videos (she wanted me to watch the Lord of the Rings with her) and each day when we returned the videos, we also went in search of sweets.

I told her maybe it is a good thing that we don't live near each other because we would probably get in trouble all the time. But then, I am thinking that maybe if we lived near each other ~ being "bad" wouldn't be like a treat, and when it came down to it, we would maybe help each other to do the right thing.

Have to figure out how to change my ways.......

Gayle--I have no doubt you will get back into the swing of things.

05-23-2005, 11:51 PM
Many great successes - from either losing, staying the same or coming back! Welcome back Gayle. Forget the 7, they will be gone in no time as so many said to me, it is just good to get back at it! Jennifer, thanks for your words about tracking from week to week - you are right, at least I am going down and it is good to see that. Wow - you are into more new numbers, way to go, you are great inspiration. Howie - you are just a real motivator. I am so happy for how well you are doing, your right, the 90's will soon be in your rearview. Speaking of rearview - you are tapping closely on the door of being half of your old self. That must be an awesome feeling. Thanks for sharing your successes....

I lost 3.8! It was over a 2 week period, but it was a good feeling. :)

05-24-2005, 10:56 AM
Sandi - That's wonderful keep up the good work

Gayle - welcome back.

Gratz to all the losers this week, my weigh in this morning said I stayed the same, but slow and steady wins the race right? :D

05-24-2005, 11:23 AM
:-)WOOOOO HOOOOO Sandi!:-) Way to go.

Had to do text smiles for some reason the Smiles and Color text is not working for me. But you get the meaning I'm proud of you.

05-24-2005, 12:07 PM
Well done, everyone. :high:

I've ditched 3 pounds this week taking me over my first stone lost. :dancer:

05-24-2005, 12:44 PM
Congrats to all the losers this week! I am so excited and counting the days until I can get back on board and start this journey again. Last night, I actually got out my binder that I made when I first started. Looking at all the fun recipes, counting the caloreis and just the overall satisfaction I felt each time I filled out my journal for the day-- gets me so excited and I can't WAIT to do this again. I can totally remember how exciting it was to get on the scale each week to see what I had done. Measuring was fun too. I haven't gained all my weight back since I got pregnant but I will definitely have a bunch to lose. This time-- I GO ALL THE WAY TO GOAL!!! I can't wait to go back to the gym, I can't wait to get my binder going again... I can't wait to feel GREAT again. I am so thrilled that so many of you are experiencing such success!! Just knowing that I am getting closer being back on track and getting my figure back makes me pumped up.... As I always say, make this FUN and be POSITIVE!!! WOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO HOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO Look out!!!

05-24-2005, 02:22 PM
Down 2 and a half this week, tho up from Sunday. I only ate what should be a maintenance calorie level that day, but whoa did it set me back. (Have to look forward, have to look forward, have to look for....)

05-26-2005, 02:46 PM
I maintained this week. I'm OK with it though, I had 3 days off plan this past weekend, had a great time and had NO problem getting back on track..which is a VERY big difference for me. Normally I would've given up after a few days off plan.
I'm so proud of myself for that :)

05-27-2005, 09:21 AM
Congratulations everyone! I'm down 2lbs. this week. :D:D:D:D

05-27-2005, 12:21 PM
Ok I already checked in this week bu tI have decided to change my weigh day to Friday instead of monday!! So from Monday to today I have lost 1 pd!!

05-27-2005, 12:59 PM
I lost another 4 lbs this week. I can't believe it after losing 5 last week that I would lose 4 this week. I upped my water intake over the last two weeks. So maybe that has something to do with it.

I have now lost over 200 lbs from my heaviest and a total of 129 since last April. I am so happy to be out of the 90s. Now I know there is no chance of jumping back over that 300 mark. I'm only 43 lbs away from my goal. That's just unbelievable.

05-27-2005, 01:06 PM
I just finished posting my congrats over in the Memorial Day Challenge thread, Howie, but I find there's still some inside of me that really want to get out, so...

(This is one of those cases where its not rude to yell) ;)

05-27-2005, 01:18 PM
OMG Howie :Bravo:. I'd do a cartwheel for you if I wasn't wearing a dress today :D That is so awesome and a perfect start to the holiday weekend. You are doing so well.

congrats to the rest of the losers in here.

05-27-2005, 02:11 PM
I'm terribly proud of the H-Man! I'm proud of all of you, but I have kind of a soft spot for that one fella, especially.

At least this week I did lose 1/2 pound, near as I could tell with the slider scale at the doctor's office. My ticker's stuck again this week since 1/2 pound increments don't show. Something's got to give, and it's me. I'm cutting back on my calories from 1600 to 1500/day, and I'm not going to eat after midnight (I go to bed around 3:00am owing to our weird schedule).

05-27-2005, 08:27 PM
Your ticker should say 225 though you are 224 1/2. You still have 226. Come on get with the plan. I'm proud of you too. You have really been sticking to plan and are doing awesome.

05-28-2005, 01:10 AM
It can't be said enough 'YEAH' - way to go Howie, you truly are the incredible shrinking man. Way to go! You have worked so hard and it is showing.

You are an inspiration to us all...

05-28-2005, 12:09 PM
I don't weigh myself till next weekend. But you guy are on the ball. Is everyone losing naturally (meaning just working out and eating right). I know there's no easy way(gastric bypass) just faster (there's always a trade off). I'm just working out and trying to eat right. And it seems to be coming off so slow.

05-28-2005, 12:29 PM
I've just been eating right and counting calories. 1800 a day. I've not got the exercise where I would like it to be but I'm working on that also.

As always thanks for the kind words everyone. It would be a lot harder with out all of you.

05-28-2005, 12:38 PM
Well Howie I guess I'll be going to go back to counting calories, I want to just like you when I grow down (he he he). I to impressed with you and your girl.

05-28-2005, 03:15 PM
Great job Howie!! You are doing SO well :)

Ah Kimberley, slow and steady, it's amazing how those 1/2 - 1 pound losses really add up.

Rea - there are no quick fixes when you have more than a couple pounds to lose.. unfortunately.. I'm definitely into that instant gratification. They say that diet is 80% of losing weight, so thats the first place to start! Good luck with your journey!

I had my weigh in on Friday, and I'm the same. Which I will TOTALLY take! My mom was here Friday - Tuesday, and then my brother got here Wednesday until Thursday. I ate out almost every single meal, and not healthy choices either.

05-28-2005, 07:31 PM
i am right where i was at the begining of the month, keep dancing 1-2 lbs up and down, hoping to be out of the 250's next week :s:

05-28-2005, 07:34 PM
Forgot to say great job on the losses, expecially Howie. You and your wife are so cute whenever i see your guys' post i haveta smile

05-29-2005, 01:26 AM
Doing it the hard way, here. I am too afraid that my body will become too accustomed to pills and then require them, and I have a good friend who had a perfectly horrid time from gastric bypass (I often wonder how much different is it than simply enforced diet control so I try to control myself.). I work out between 5 and 7 hours a week and keep my intake to between 900 and 1200 calories six days a week with one meal a week going higher, taking one day as high as 1800. I am loosing an average of a couple of pounds a week.

05-29-2005, 01:27 AM
Yes! Great job Howie. Keep it up.:)

05-29-2005, 02:58 AM
I think all YOU guys are the inspirations, personally. Thank God for this site, I tell ya.

05-30-2005, 04:31 PM
I am down 7 more! For a total of 22! I will update my ticker right away!!!
